MMR would work. If DBD had
1.Balanced Maps
2.Diverse Meta
3.Many viable killers
4.Exciting high rank gameplay
It has none of that and other issues
-
If every hit applies sloppy they’re an M1 killer

I’m glad you ask this. As many people may know, I am a dedicated Spirit main and my opinion on Spirit is that the nerf to her was completely justifiable and the changes made didn’t hinder her power at all. Survivors have something to react to which is awesome and creates a lot of fun mind games with her power. I think she’s in a great spot other than some of her add ons. Mother-Daughter Ring should’ve gotten touched and now the combination with it and the Dried Cherry Blossom is a bit over tuned. It’s just a “turn your brain off combination that makes her arguably as strong as Nurse. Nerf the Ring and the Blossom would be fine imo. Scratch mark downside could be more of a convenience if she didn’t move up to 216% movement speed.
32.The nerf to Deathslinger was much more controversial majority hated it saying it ruined his 1v1 which he needed. But prior to this people were saying these killers with oppressive 1v1s should go. Should the devs move away from these type of killers?

If the boons only affected the survivor with the perk, the boons will be very average. However, since they benefit the whole team and are really beneficial for comms, I do think that they have potential to shake the meta. It’s hard to know as they can be RNG as you said, but you also gotta look at DS, UB, BT, and other meta perks, they don’t get use every single game either as no perk should be made to see value every single game.
31.Spirit was recently nerfed after many years. With her base indicating she’s phasing and many add-ons changed. Most were happy with this but some said Spirit was now dead at high level and the nerf was too much. Was this a good change?

COH should be toned down a bit but other than that, I don't think they're too much of a problem. They do require set up and planning on where you need to place them which does take time out of the survivors. I like the concept of the boons, I think they could be meta which is what we've been asking for for a while now.
30.Boon totems do suffer some RNG majorly like Hexes what will make the boons meta?

Sole Survivor needs a massive rework. Not sure what to do with it but to keep the theme of “Sole Survivor” maybe it can have a benefit that happens when you’re alone in an area of the map with no one else? Maybe a haste status effect that only happens when you’re 32+ meters away from the other survivors and killer. Obsession needs an extra benefit though, can’t think of a good idea.
Furtive Chase is another one that needs a rework. I was thinking that there should be a perk that makes two obsessions, with Furtive Chase being that perk, and it can have the same effects except a max of 8 stacks. This will be crazy and can combo with other perks so well with the new effect. Not sure how unbalanced it would be but I would love to hear other’s thoughts on it.
Play With Your Food should just consume a token when you down a survivor. It’s a fun perk to use but it’s hard to get use out of it and it feels like the conditions along with the downside are too strict.
I already mentioned what I want Dark Devotion to do.
There are a few others like Dying Light, Blood Pact, and Rancor that could use a buff but not sure how to do it.
29.The newest perk type added Boons are quite controversial in the PTB they were called overpowered and even with the live versions some say they’re still overpowered although much less. Are Boon totems still problematic?

me too. I can take out a boon in a couple of seconds and they'll have to waste a lot of time blessing a totem again.
They’re also overrated in my opinion with the limited 24 meter range and same RNG dependence like Hexes in many instances

ill take a boon over DH IW

Rework gens so killers don’t feel forced to.

It doesn’t measure teamwork and hooks as skill and the meta was to stale and small for MMR.

Hex spawns are just weird because sometimes you'll spawn on Shelter Woods where the totem is as visible from a distance as the sun is, while you can spawn on RPD and finding totems there is like finding a needle in a hay stack. I think totem spawns overall need to be improved as I hate RNG and it's just annoying when totems are out in the open and it's the easiest totem cleanse of the survivors' life. Hex perks that need a buff imo are Huntress' Lullaby, TOTH, and Crowd Control. Huntress' Lullaby can be a fun perk but good survivors can counter it easily because of their experience with skill checks. Crowd Control is just a worse Bamboozle, so it being a hex is insulting. The nerf to TOTH was one of the stupidest decisions I've ever witness in my almost 17 months playing this game. It wasn't that great before and now it's just worse. It would be a great counter to boons if you brought back the notification for cleansing and blessing.
28.Another weak perk category with even less usefulness are obsession perks. On the killer side there is no popular perk outside of STBFL. The other ones are too weak or have a massive downside and if I’m correct none have received meaningful changes in a while. On the survivor side they provide no dynamic to change their gameplay actively like killer. What changes need to happen to these perks to make them more viable and interesting?
-
@GannTM said:

Sloppy Butcher is a perk that I think should stay at just M1’s as it’s strong enough to warrant it. STBFL should stay M1 as it would be a huge nerf if it was all attacks. The reason being is that it won’t synergies with Pig, Demo, or Nemesis anymore. Franklin’s should stay M1 as I think this perk will see a lot of backlash if it didn’t have an M1 requirement.
Knock Out I think shouldn’t have an M1 requirement. It’s just not good enough imo. Remove the M1 requirement and nerf some of the numbers to not make it too oppressive. Dark Devotion is another one of those perks where I don’t understand why it has just basic attacks. I’m telling you this perk will be so much fun to use with certain killers if it didn’t have that M1 requirement.
27.Hex:Blood Favor and Hex:Retribution recently got huge buffs. Blood Favor went from contention for worst perks in the game to at least Hex Wise one of the best. Yet Hexes will always suffer because survivors can spawn on them they can spawn on gens in the open. And this will always seem to keep them weaker. How important is it Hex spawns improve? And which Hex perks need big buffs also?

Killers like that are very poorly designed. Deathslinger was the worst because his insta-ADS could put survivors in a lose lose situation no matter what they do. With Slinger not being good outside of that, it’s just boring having to hold W looking for survivors while you’re incredibly slow. It’s not interesting gameplay. There needs to be a form of outplay from both sides for it to be a PvP game.
There needs to be less of those killers and more killers like Blight and Spirit that have plenty of map pressure but also have counterplay in chase.
26.On to some perks although we might come back to killer design. Recently two perks lost what was deemed an unnecessary M1 Requirement Third Seal and Blood Favor after Eruption and Hysteria were spared from a M1 requirement. Yet many perks still have one that can be considered unnecessary. But maybe the devs are beginning to realize this. Which perks with a current M1 requirement should loose it and which should they remain?

Honestly not exactly sure I remember some of those things, mainly the Hag and flashlight things. Maybe they happened before I discovered the game?
Anyway, those changes prove that they’re capable of making good decisions at times which they definitely have. It’s mainly from feedback from the community which I do think they sometimes listen to the community at times, but I’m still not convinced that most of them actually play the game.
25.Let’s talk about killer design the recent trend has been strong 1v1 and not much else. The former king of this Deathslinger recently had this nerfed. Should their be a big emphasis on less of these killers?

With this being McLean's last patch and one of the few devs that knows how to play the game, it's hard to know if the rest of the dev team will live up to that without McLean. If competition does start to grow in this genre though, they are going to have to start making the right gameplay decisions whether they like it or not. The problem is, I don't think they know what's best for the game. I hope they prove me wrong though.
24.One of the perhaps most infamous moments in DBD history is when McCote played as Hag against instant flashlights on Badham. And flashlights were nerfed Hag buffed to the S tier she is today. And if I’m correct a massive restructure of loops. Does this show that the devs actually don’t play the game enough. Or they’re just slow in changes?

It’s hard to know this early in VHS’s early development. I don’t know much about the game but I just feel like with all the licenses that DBD has, I have to see it to believe it right now. I think VHS has potential to be successful, just not DBD successful right now. I think even that could be a good thing for DBD, because just giving BHVR some kind of worry that a game could peak and compete with them could wake them up.
23.DBD just released the massive Mid-Chapter that saw huge changes like Spirit nerf and slight things that still matter like the nerf to Scalped Top Knot. Does this show that of DBD wanted to they could release more of these and make sure nothing gets on top of them?

It really bugs me a lot that they haven’t been transparent with us about the hacker situation so it’s hard to know if they’re doing something about it or not. I don’t think it’s got something to do with a fragile code, I think it’s just something the devs don’t want to get on the issue because they know it doesn’t make them any money. I know that this kind of issue isn’t easy to resolve though but it needs to be on the top of the priority list. Let’s just hope VHS pops off so they’re forced to fix the issue.
22.VHS is the newest DBD competition because of the asymmetrical horror connection despite different gameplay for those unaware. All past competitions have been won by DBD. Yet people are saying this will be different and VHS will compete. And some even hoping it tops DBD. Or at least competition. Will VHS top DBD or at least compete and not pass like the rest?
-
Mothman DLC?
-
The fact the game wasn’t ready for it was the first sign since high play DBD is sweaty and boring. And instead of prioritizing hooks and teamwork. It promotes just camp or tunnel or just escape as the top skill

For 17 and 18, I’ll base my answers off of chapters that came out during the time period while I was playing the game, so Descend Beyond up to now. I was still very new when Silent Hill came out so I’m not going to include that. I don’t know what experiencing previous chapters were like so I think it’s fair to answer this way.
17: On release it’s 100% Hellraiser. I love Pinhead’s perks and is a very well designed killer.
18: I would say A Binding of Kin was the worst as it broke the game in so many ways and released an unfinished killer. Though I gotta say that my actual least favorite was Resident Evil because of my expectations for it. I shouldn’t have been as excited as I was for that chapter as it was a disaster. Games were crashing, Nemesis is underwhelming, and the map is a complete joke.
19: I don’t have a dream chapter but I guess if I had to pick one I’d love to see Pennywise added with Beverly Marsh as the survivor.
20: A lot of the characters and I’ve made a lot of good friends playing. I just can’t leave any of that behind.
21.We’ll that’s the simple questions. We’ll begin with DBD’s current hacking issue which has gotten so bad at least in higher MMR games can be taken hostage and some reports on the forums of bricked consoles. Does DBD have a fragile code that allows or are the devs not getting to it quick enough?

^ this here. Michi introduces different perk set ups and addons. He's highly consistent in his gameplay (for what he shows).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2583145#Comment_2583145
This is also a really good list of stuff for Hag. Also, if you watch some Michi, you will notice that he takes advantage of what I guess I'll call "camera pull" with the survivors. Hag's body will pop out of the traps and the survivor's camera will pull. Once you realize this, you as Hag can place traps in weird corners that will disorientate the survivor's direction and can help you either get a hit or re-corral them a different direction.
There's a lot of Hag hate in the community from the survivor side, but a good Hag player you go against is actually really fun. Watching someone like Michi work is really fun to see because there's not a lot of hag players.
Yeah nothing more dreadful then facing a baby Hag

Yo thanks for having me on the show. I’m very excited for this and can’t wait to talk with you about the state of the game. I’ll try to answer the questions as much as I can.
- It was June 1, 2020, I was in my room browsing Steam looking for a new game to play. I looked in survival horror genre and found DBD. I read its description saying it was a 4v1 asymmetrical horror which was something very unique and it seemed popular so I was intrigued to buy it. I’ve seen no gameplay on it going in so I was pretty much starting to play with no expectations on how the game is played. I did do the tutorial but that didn’t really help as I pretty much didn’t know what I was doing my first ever match.
- Honestly I’m not sure where it came from, I think one of my friends called me it one time and it just sounded fitting. I eventually made it my gamer name. It just has a nice ring to it.

Now, this one is really difficult.
Ghostface could be deleted for all I care, but I think the most reasonable option would be fixing his damn reveal mechanic and leaving him as he is.
As for Legion...not even the Entity knows what to do with those maniacs. BHVR tried time and again to "fix" Legion, and every attempt failed.
50.One solution you’ve proposed to make more interesting killers is rework Freddy. To include elements of Old Freddy and New Freddy. And more and more people are saying current Freddy is weak and some even say weaker then old Freddy. Should the devs rework Freddy again?
-
@GeneralV said:

Killers that do not have a secondary attack, sometimes not even a chase power for that matter.
Perhaps a tracker would be nice. Or someone with mobility. A killer similar to Hag and Trapper isn't a bad idea either.
Basically anything that doesn't have an overly-oppressive 1 v 1.
49.Two killers were announced to be getting reworks in the recent Q&A Legion and Ghostface. Legion has the issue of an uninteresting power also weak. And painfully undynamic it’s run and stab. Boring to face and with no chase they’re often critiqued as some of the worst. Same with Ghostface said to be a Myers copy with better stealth but also suffers from no chase potential. Also putting him low tier. How could the devs rework them for more interesting but good powers?
-
@GeneralV said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2583298#Comment_2583298
Hopefully a spider, since the Oni already has a vampire-ish theme.
And I hope it will be a killer without a chase power, since there are far too many of those.
48.Some critique has risen over killer power designs become stale. A prime example is Demo, Pyramid, and Nemesis. And too often new killer shave too oppressive 1v1s. What untouched categories could the devs use. Or what killer type should there be more of?
-
@GeneralV said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2583279#Comment_2583279
Yes, he does.
Though I have absolutely no idea of what could be done to fix him.
47.There is some speculation about the new killer starting to arise. It seems original. With some speculating a spider or vampire based on some tome teasers. Who do you think it’ll be and what kind of killer should it be set up, anti loop, all around?
-

This is a very difficult question for me.
I never played as or against him, due to me leaving the game before his reveal.
However, judging from what I've read on the Forums, I would say he is in a good spot and doesn't require further changes.
46.The last killer Nemesis was quite different however. Released as a laggy mess. With a power critiqued as a watered down Pyramid Head and not faithful to the Resident Evil version. As well weak and with a passive 4v1 he doesn’t need to work for and it’s inconsistent. Does Nemesis need changes?
-

That joke was cruel...
Leaving the visuals alone and changing the powerful windows and tiles. Though I would oppose it regardless.
45.I know. We’ll talk about the recent killers and the speculated new one. The Cenobite was the newest killer with largely positive reviews. A power cited not too oppressive. But mostly fun to counter. And makes Hoarder useful. And faithful to the source. NFTS you already discussed with someone here. But some say he still needs some QOL changes. And someone critiqued how he gets 4v1 for free. Does he need more changes?

44.Your favorite updates the realm beyond was confirmed to resume in the Q&A. What can be done to successfully update the remaining realms all pretty problematic? Without not changing them

Very glad to see a potential Hag main let me help you out
1.You don’t need perks or add ons to win. Hag is that strong so you don’t need to grind another character for a certain perk. Or add-ons
2.Don’t put all your traps around the hook. Lame strat and a shame to her potential.
3.Don’t need to worry about maps. There isn’t a map where she is guaranteed to loose. Haddonfield of all maps is great for Hag
4.Don’t make your traps obvious or else survivors will react in time and escape the lunge range. Hide them on dark ground. Or around corners. Put them in unexpected spots.
5.Don’t just traps loops or else they’ll just take a hit and avoid the loops, trap areas where they’ll run away and areas they’ll move through
6.Only chase if it corrals them to your traps Hag can’t chase number one killer in dropping chase.
7.Have fast reactions a trap can be triggered at any moment
8.Slug if need be to get snowballing since if you pick up someone they’ll begin to disarm your traps
All I got for now ask if you want more tips glad to help

COH could indeed get her pick rate up. I think she is a bit stronger now, but definitely not overpowered level or anything.
40.The nerf to Deathslinger seems to be hated by everyone, they nerfed his 1v1 and stealth which most said he needed for his weak snowball and mobility. Did the devs mess up this nerf?
