Assuming the killer made it to rank one they should be good. And my point is more of its not needed to stay in red ranks. Even though otz didnt pip he never depipped and he even said he didn't go for a pip
Going for the Oni adept in red ranks, i routinely had 2-3 gens pop before I even got one down because of the strong looping survivors have available and a lack of Ruin. Pop wouldn’t have helped there. In many cases a gen or two across the map would pop before I could even make it over there while checking gens along the way.
If you don’t run Ruin with a weak M1 killer then you’re leaving yourself at the mercy of survivors. If they want to gen rush then you’re going to lose. Even Otz didn’t pip and he plays the game for a living. Ruin can buy you the time needed to get a down before gens start popping and that makes a gargantuan difference.
-
Yo these sweats who play games all day for a living can do this or that so that means it should be ez for everyone. Makes sense.
Also didn’t Otz like... not pip in most of his games?

I would just like to comment that Mettle of Man is used by many players, and the comment that "literally nobody plays MoM" isn't true.
I play DbD for hours every day and since MoM was nerfed I’ve seen it one or two times tops. It went from extremely OP meta perk to a meme perk someone might run just to try and troll the killer. “Many players”? Nah.
-
Wow I’m a stupid idiot for buying another killer on release just for these clowns to immediately nerf the content into the ground.

I thought we could have a reasonable discussion.
Not if you’re going to try and tell me Demo is a top tier killer lol

Good. Forever Freddy was a pain to deal with.
So now killers are stuck with Speedy SWF ending games in 7 minutes unless the killer wants to go sweaty try hard. This will improve the struggling killer player base that has dwindled to where it now takes a long ass time to find survivor matches on console

Yes this is why they buffed Freddy and introduced Demogorgon. Catering to those survivor mains as always.
Fred? The killer who was released, immediately gutted because of survivor complaints, stayed gutted for over a year, was finally reworked, and was nerfed today? Wow clearly the devs are killer biased lol
What about Demo? He’s not a great killer or anything.
-
It’s simple. In every match you have five people. That’s five potential buyers of skins, rift passes, DLC, etc. One side has four potential customers. One side has only one. Why would they cater anything for the side with one customer? The meta will forever be SWF focused.

Oni does not suck at all. He's a very very strong killer with a smart player.
Oh sure, very very strong. Maybe against potatoes
-
Oni sucks and just came out. Already with nerfs?
-
It’s much worse if you happen to be a fan of the trash killers like Clown, Wraith, or Trapper.
-
When I was going for the Oni adept it was not uncommon for two or three survivors to spawn on a gen and knock it out before I could even reach it. Also very common was 2-3 gens popping before I even got one down. Stealth and mobile killers are easily the best killers because they can actually apply map pressure.
Play a map like The Game with 47 safe pallets with an M1 killer and try to apply map pressure lol
-
Yes. I mori someone with Trapper and then do that stupid dance over their body.
-
Because why not
Theres no good reason to make Kindred basekit
-
Let’s make Nurses or BBQ base kit on killers too
-
Oh this is another one of those ideas where BHVR, who hasn’t been able to balance the game in the 3 years that it’s been out, will buff solo players to match the game breaking strength of SWF, but then BHVR will magically just balance killers around that.
Mind you this is the same developer that took a year to rework one killer. Still has doodoo killers like Wraith and Clown and Plague. Can’t seem to find a way to balance Legion. They’re going to rework the entire meta of the game and it’s going to just work /ToddHoward

Solo is as strong as SWF? I had a good laugh, thanks. Next joke please.
It’s almost as if I said WILL BE as in future tense if these changes keep happening and you used IS as in present tense as in you can’t read English. Next joke please.
-
Yikes, what a bad take. There have been so many buffs for solo players. It’s getting to the point that solo will be just as strong as SWF and that’s when this game will be in real trouble.
But you’re comparing a fast paced FPS with an asymmetrical horror game. It’s like saying “hey in NFS Heat I can take this corner at 200mph no problem! Why do I lose control and slam into a wall and wreck my car in Forza Motorsports??” and even that is a less ridiculous comparison because at least my comparison is using two games of the same genre.
-
It took me from release day until around noon today to get the Oni adept, about 20 games or so. The gen rush was insane. It was practically two, almost three gens done by the time I got one hook every match, barring a few instances of bad survivors.
-
Check your killer privilege please. Gotta buff those solo survivors.
-

If a person without Kindred is hooked, any Survivor who is running the perk still gets to see all the auras that Kindred normally reveals.
But not the other survivors? Seems fair.
-
What was buffed in it? I only solo queue
-
What is the Oni nerf?
-
I haven’t found it hard to control on Xbox. You can turn corners and stuff easily.
-
@ExcelSword said:
On PS4 swf survivors can already see the killer's name if they exploit Sony's party system.
Probably explains why there are few killers left on that platform.
You can see 90% of the time on Xbox, too.

@Kenshin said:
because this is a game made for survivors to have fun.
Sadly I think this is the correct answer. With the introduction of cosmetics and the other monetization, it simply makes much more financial sense for BHVR to ensure the survivor side is happy with the game rather than the killer side. Because in every match there are five customers, and only one of them is the killer.
This is why we see sweeping nerfs to killers much more rapidly in comparison to seeing buffs. That and the upper management at BHVR seems content with making money off the game but not improving the team working on it. IIRC someone posted here or on Reddit that DbD is a top 30 game on Steam. I'd imagine it's popular on consoles too, and there's a mobile version. It has to rake in a lot of money. Yet the team working on it is still so incredibly slow, the amount of time it takes to get stuff done is just baffling. Even Turtle Rock was way faster when Evolve was alive and kicking.
-
Have you tried watching to see how Tru3 does it and copy that?
-
And yet we have people trying to say it’s good that BHVR is balancing solos to be as strong as SWF because hey, “they can just buff killers”. But years after release we still have doodoo loops that we apparently have to wait for massive map reworks to hope for a fix. It’s as if these people don’t know the snails pace BHVR works at.

Just because you can't doesn't mean others can't either.
Oh, I can. I also escape in red ranks consistently. But those M1 killers all over performing? Nah.
-
I’d love to see a map list for red ranks.
Also, apparently every killer is performing great in red ranks, all above 60%?
-
If a survivor is hugging an infinite or abusing BL I’ll chase them for five gens just to make sure they die.
-
It took them a year to rework Fred. Good luck.
Im curious to see the Wraith and Trapper nerfs next.
-
Killing two survivors can leave you barely safety pipping or even de-pipping. If that’s the idea for an ideal match then BHVR should probably tell DbD that.
idk how you can think Pig needs buffs but “most killers” are fine. Pig is better than most killers.
-
When does 2 open up?

@fluffymareep said:
It's possible they may be nerfing the strongest killers to give a buff to base killer. I know a lot of people suggested that.
How powerful Spirit is doesn’t make Wraith or Bubba or Trapper any less doodoo at high ranks.

Just to clarify my above comment though, it's not that Leatherface is in a bad place, it's mainly the people who play him for me.
Bubba is most definitely in a very bad place. Literally all he is good for is hard camping some scumbag survivor.
-
I just tunnel the **** out of them.
-
Nah she needs some small nerfs.
-
Yep. That or “timeoutCreated”
-
They are past the point of deserving any breaks. I hope they take their time fixing what they broke, but they should still be ashamed of themselves.

Laughed at the trash part. Thanks for the laugh
Np buddy. I also laugh at anyone who struggles against such a weak perk.

Yeah why would we respond logically or anything
Look for a Facebook group where you can discuss removing NOED and making Sprint Burst a button press.

Still gotta get it certified. They can pay for the super quick certification but I doubt they would.
-
Survivor: runs build full of powerful clutch perks
Also survivor: waaaa devs plz nerf this crappy killer perk
-
It would be a big buff to survivors and a nerf for killers. In other words BHVR will implement it shortly.
-
All of them?
-
Get used to it.
Salt and whiny tears will now be your sustenance.
-
This happened to me earlier. Two people died, we had one gen left. David gets caught doing nothing. Against my better judgement I saved him. I go back to my gen and Fred finds me. I get hooked for the first time and David runs to the other side of the map and hides until I die and then opens a gate after hatch is closed.
It’s ok, they were a similar survivor level as my killer level. I’ll have my revenge.

Sure the console. Make no Sense but ok
How does it make no sense? If Sony or MS found something in the update and didn’t certify it, BHVR would delay the release for all platforms until its fixed. For all we know the issue has been fixed and it’s just waiting to go through certification again.
