I enjoy the fact that swf are usually more challenging than solos, but I don't enjoy swfs who are meming around getting themselves killed. Overall I would rather face a swf team than a group of solos because it is more likely that I will be challenged in the trial.
-
Could have worked, could still work if previous owners are compensated. DLC and cosmetics are enough to live off of, and I would love to see more players.

Good survivors mostly use it to extend loops and erase their mistakes.
It is broken.
Sprint Burst is better because it allows survivors to go into places without resources and get away safely and allow survivors more access to god loops. 1 extra meter while injured doesn't even compare, what even is that, 1 extra loop? Stop letting bias blind you.

That just means they're not used to playing against PC killers. Console survivors will learn eventually.
Agreed

Thats kind of my point. People have confused what "sweaty" means. I never seem to see it used correctly, at least not in these forums. Exceptions do exist, if course, but they are exactly that.
Edit: hang on, I just reread exactly what I wrote and it was pretty clear. What exactly are you confused about?
I'm confused about how you came to this conclusion.

@SpaceCoconut said:
If you used perks, ran away from the killer, dropped pallets, rescued teammates, healed or otherwise tried to achieve the game's objective to escape then you're just as sweaty.
Exactly, what a hypocrite xD

Nothing wrong with trying to win mate.

Very constructive.

@MadLordJack said:
Honestly, when people talk about "sweaty" survivors, they usually mean "lazy" survivors. You know, the ones that use full second builds and do dumb shite that shouldn't even be possible, like locker DS and instadropping pallets. They aren't sweaty. They are calm, collected, brain-dead and still winning by virtue of that just being how DBD plays out. It is rare that people actually mean Deathsquads, SWF or otherwise.
On the killer side, sometimes people do talk about Sniper Spirit or Forever Freddy (still a thing) as "sweaty" when they really mean "lazy", but it just isn't used as much. The only other "sweaty" killer thing I think of getting thrown around a bunch are mori's, but... Once again, no-one burns a Mori to get sweaty.
Sweaty usually means the opposite of lazy though? You have no logical basis sadly.

Meh, it goes both ways, console can now come up against stretched res, cheaters, people with better frames and controls, and PC can now come up against people with worse controls and worse frames. Coming from a PS4 player, having a killer play at 10 FPS vs a survivor on about 60 is a huge disadvantage.
Of course you can turn cross play off, but point still applies if cross play is on.
What kind of noticeable advantage would a killer have if a survivor's screen stutters slightly more than usual? That's like the difference between 100 and 120 ms ping survivors xD
-
Nothing's changed so far except maybe a little faster queues.
-
@IronKnight55 said:
Haven't really noticed much of a difference as killer. How do you turn off crossplay, tho? I've tried going into settings, but I can't seem to disable it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Do it outside of killer and survivor menus so like the main menu ig.

In terms of survivor skill ive seen basically the same. A god like console survivor is the same as a god like PC survivor.
For killer however our frames are still horrible, so it's not much PC survivors being good, it's more that they have 100x better frames and better controls, still relatively easy to hit, but that one miss that you would've gotten with good frames can be the difference between a win and a loss.
Not only frames but stretched res exists and from what I discovered in a recent thread of mine a FOV hack exists somehow.
It's not that console killers have a worse experience now but that pc killers have a better one.

I didn't see a map anywhere.

I was also joking. See my use of the words "Nice" and "toxic"? Sorry if you were confused :)

I thought a competent team crushing killers was a general issue? If they don't get an early lead they don't have anything to pressure with mid game. Which is why Noed is so prevalent.
The only general issue is how many whiny players refuse to adapt in this game. A competent team doesn't stand a chance against a killer who knows how to use their abilities well and apply pressure constantly, especially if that team has little experience against killers of this caliber of control and optimization not available to the killers they were facing before.
-
Survivors are the ones suffering. Mouse and keyboard gives very little benefit to them but huge boost to killers.

Pumping gens has been in the game a while actually. If your teammates don't do it then that's just unlucky eat a depip for no reason :)

Nice job bringing "killers vs survivors" into this. You can play blindfold and killers will still call you toxic.

@EmpireWinner said:
People are just butthurt. Doing whatever you can to escape or have all survivors sacrificed is basically what the game is about.
The game is about nothing according to the devs, their input on the topics of competitive play versus casual play has made me realize that trying to please everybody ends up helping no one.

It´s a way of trying to shame the opponent for trying to win in a pvp game. It´s funny because it´s so childish. Reasonable people don´t do that though so you get a pretty good idea about the people that call their enemy sweaty in DBD.
Ikr people always attack each other in this community like come on let's just laugh it out and have a good time playing games.

Sweaty to me is when a killer chases me for 2+ gens. Literally. But thats mostly out of frustration of "bruv...go kick a gen leave me aloooooone"

Playing a particular console isn't sweaty, from my experience sensitive players consider any player that actually tries to win "sweaty". Simple enough.

Then you'll complain about it when it's end game and want a nerf then.
Then you'll want a nerf to it for healing.
Then you'll want a nerf to deactivate when you're inside exit gates.
Then you'll want a nerf to deactivate if you're in the killers terror radius.
Then you'll want a nerf to it when you touch an exit gate.
Slippery slope is a fallacy, do you have a real reason this change isn't a good idea?

Well theyre right in this case. A lot if survivors get a "i can do whatever i want and tgeres not much the killer can do about it" bug up there ass compounded by unbreakable and soul guard. If ds is meant to be antitunnel then it should be adjusted accordingly. If its not then it needs a drawback much like how so many killer perks/add ons have a drawback
DS has a drawback. It's only active for 60 seconds after you're unhooked. I agree it could be more fun with some drawbacks, but the state it is in is fine in terms of balance.

They also wasted my time in having to deal with them. You dont think its odd so many killers say the same thing? You think im making this up
Many killers, many survivors, as made clear time and time again, the majority isn't always right. Many survivors say Billy was OP and that NOED is nerf worthy. Are they right just because so many of them agree?
-
Or maybe it's rainbow ranks because rank has no bearing on matchmaking or even skill for that matter.

Yeah playing right is slugging them, theyre right back up 10 seconds later. If ds didnt grant them immunity to begin with they wouldnt behave that way
If they're right back up that means they wasted Unbreakable or another survivor wasted time healing them. They might not have wasted as much time with their dumb play as they would have without DS or Unbreakable, but it was still a big waste of time and as killer you should recognize these mistakes are something to capitalize on. The more killers capitalize, the smarter survivors get.
-
If survivors can dodge you you're just bad. If you want to play m and k, you're free to play on pc.

If theyre running ds + unbreakable they can do all kinds of dumb things. Ive seen survivors keep workjng gens still i slap them. Body blicking. Jumping over a vault 50 times in a row till i go over there. List is endless
They can always do dumb things. And they will always be punished for them if you play right.

When Goose, who's a killer main but plays mostly survivor as his viewers are heavily survivor mains, says that the game IS survivor sided but there's somethings that killers can do, I take in consideration. Most of the time "survivors streamers" are biased as a f. So you have to take that with a grain of salt. Most of killer streamers play both sides, with some exceptions.
What if you're wrong and neither killer streamers nor survivor streamers are inherently biased, and that each individual has a unique opinion?

@HectorBrando said:

5% is only 1 on every 20 games, Im sure most mains already have that and they are still as toxic as truck filled to the brim with plutonium.
Maybe 33% is way too much.
Hmm yeah 10% would be better.
-
Lmao, biased community sees something they don't like and simply call it bait. I respect your attempt OP, but different opinions don't fly here.
-
My queues are usually only 5 mins. Haven't tried survivor yet because I know it's only going to be pain if I do. Anyways, these queue times are probably just showing the composition of the entire dbd playerbase. Overall, there are too many killers.

only active for 60s meaning can do a gen in killers face can unhook in killer face can heal in killers face
and slugging jump into locker
these are not weaknesses no matter what you think or say.....
DS doesn't make you superman. The killer can still hit you lmao. Your bias is showing hard if you really think DS is one minute immunity and a free pass to play dumb.
-
Why should I feel bad for winning in a game? If I trash a new player, oh well at least they learned how harsh dbd really is. I'm not gonna purposefully throw or anything just because I see someone struggling(although I pretty much give a survivor hatch in all my games). I empathize with these players, but that's it.
-
I'm not playing him until it's adjusted so my ears aren't tortured every trial.

The games usually do not last more than 6 or 7 minutes, the killer needs hang survivors 12 times, 4 decisive strikes are 4 minutes ur math doesn't work or maybe this game really is unbalanced.
4 decisives can actually be 8 mins. The reason this is balanced(albeit annoying to some) is because the killer is never forced to chase or pick up a survivor with DS.
-
@HectorBrando said:
I would force people to play both roles, one role must have at least 33% of games or you cant queue for the other. At least this way the "We vs THEM!!" mentality wouldnt be so prevalent and people wouldnt suggest the outrageous changes they suggest sometimes (or maybe they would, but at least they would get shot down really fast).
While its not killing the game itself is killing the community, you cant have civilized games or threads without a bunch of "mains" jumping in and kidnapping the thread, and I bet Developers would be more than happy to see the tension diminishing and the complains getting more reasonable.
I agree. Mains should have to at least try the other side, but they shouldn't be forced to waste a lot of time on that side. 5% is a more reasonable request imo.

As far as tunneling is concerned itself it wholly depends on the situation whether i will do it or not. When i do i take ds into account and its not a problem.
The problem is you go and chase/hook 2 other people then come back around to you and get hit with a ds. Or survivors doing really stupid things because they know theyre immune for 60 secs.
What do you mean stupid things? If you manage to down them they're off gens for a bit and they pretty much gave it to you for free. Having DS active doesn't reward you for mistakes, it merely compensates for the mistake in some cases where the killer is being careless. Slugged survivors can't do gens, and good survivors can always last at least 60 seconds outside of tunneling scenarios. Hence why the community adopted DS as an anti-tunnel perk.
-
1. Yeah current rank system is bogus
2. Sadly the bp gains would have to be near insignificant to prevent abuse, this can't really happen
3. I would prefer if survivors weren't just skins, a unique passive or item in bloodweb for each survivor maybe?
4. Makes patrolling easier for killers. I like the intended result, but hiding gens wouldn't work because CI exists. I prefer a Trial Warmup.
5. Agreed. No more meme squads. Probably won't happen though because devs want solos to be able to always play their main survivor.
6. Seems like a weird and hard to code way of adding a second objective. A second objective could be implemented better.
7. Is obviously only here for reasons of bias. There's nothing wrong with 99ing, as the devs have stated.
8. Too hard to code.
9. That would be nice if moris didn't exist.
10. Would affect queue times poorly, abusable by farming.

The problem is that this community is at least 90% killer sided, so buff after buff for killers, and nerf after nerf for survs.
Perhaps the problem is that most of the community doesn't recognize that both sides need change or that the devs will not be able to always please everyone with every change.
-
@HectorBrando said:
Or you could like hit them and slug them, even if they get picked up they wasted 16 seconds, if they use Unbreakable you got it out of the way. The only change I would introduce to DS is if you get pulled out of a locker you go straight to dying stage bypassing the Killer picking you up, its up to the Killer to slug or eat DS after pulling you out of a locker.
Your suggestion also has one problem, whats the Survivor supposed to do after being unhooked and healed? lingering around doing nothing?.
That's right. If they want their 60 second protection, they need to be able to keep themselves busy doing things other than the main objective. What's wrong with that?

its not about tunneling. If we only want to punish tunnelers there are ways to make this perk do that that wont punish a normal kilker just playing tge game. Most people complaining about this perk arent tunnelers
There's nothing wrong with tunneling, and if you want to defend the practice openly I will respectfully disagree but not try to attack you for it or anything. It's amazing how there's such a stigma around types of gameplay in this community, be it using "op perks" as survivor, genrushing, camping, or tunneling. I wish there was a way this toxic bias in particular could be diffused.
