Do you think you can get at least 2 kills before endgame on fractured cowshed with trapper?
you only play trapper in cowshed?

Everyone loves to bring up facecamping Bubba. Let's be real. How many times are people actually seeing Bubba, and I face camping Bubba at that?
Bubba is the face of face camping, that's why we mention him, it's a statement
regardless of who the killer is, face camp is strong in any killer, as you can easily grab the unhooker in action.

Who said all 4? Just 3 survivors is enough. If you think you can get 2 kills before endgame as some of the weaker killers then idk what to say.
wait, so most of your games end up with the gates open and 3 survivors alive?
how does that change anything I said? The problem is still with your gameplay, just go check some streamers or something, they're doing pretty good with this patch, the devs even said that in their numbers this change was NEEDED.
So something doesn't add up, either everyone else is an exception or you should get better?

looking at your comment history, you let your survivors escape, lowering your mmr. thats why you have 0 struggle, youre not playing at the right level for where youre meant to be
I do it NOW, after the last patch, cause sometimes I pity them. I got 2 hooks on all of them before they can even finish the 3rd gen.

Yes when the exit gate isn't that far and there is 2 survivors around the hooked, one which can fake the unhook and get hit and run away while the other can unhook and body block the unhooked. Good idea.
dude, if all your games as killer end up with the exit gate open and 4 survivors still alive, the problem isn't the BT, or the gates, or the haste effect.

play killer, get good at killer to the point youre facing good survivors. or get good at survivor. see how quick the games are at high mmr, and how slow the hooks are (excluding nurse, shes the only one who can compete, but youre gonna get her nerfed soon anyway so it wont be for long), youll see what i mean by necessary
I do play killer LOL
it's my main role, what are you talking about?
if you're telling me you can't get a 3k-4k without tunneling there might be a problem on your end.
maybe you think it's only fun when you 4k? I don't know, tell me more.
-
So now it's time for the killers to become cry babies once again, right?
-
@xni6_ said:

the issue is theyre nerfing the solution to a problem they made. tunneling isnt fun, but its necessary.
unfortunately, instead of looking into why its necessary, they add more and more things to counter it, forcing killers to tunnel even harder, and then survivors complain more, and killer gets more nerfs, then they tunnel more, then they get nerfed more, and then the entire playerbase would be survivors complaining about long queues since all the killers would have left.
tunneling is necessary? what?
-
why do they keep saying "camping and tunneling" when all they do is buff the post unhook state? How is a 10 seconds BT helping against a face camping Buba? Well, I guess if you BUY the new resident evil DLC you'll at least have the new perk that pauses the hook timing.
-
right now I play killer and let the survivors leave
I find it way more fun to get all of them in second hook and then just let them leave
i farm, they farm and no one gets stressed about it.

Your argument is without merit. "If you don't want to play through the match you have the right to leave at any time."
While disconnecting or self-sacrifice are both options available to players, they're intended for emergencies only or to concede at the end of a match.
If the killer is a blatant hacker and you don't want to tolerate such things, or if you forgot something IRL, fine DC! If you're the last of 2 survivors and you want to exit the match to give your ally the hatch, by all means, sacrifice yourself!
However the example you cited is without reason. You suggested that quitting the match prematurely because you don't like your opponent's character and or skill level is perfectly acceptable when it is anything but!
Dead by Daylight and all of it's characters and perks are balanced around the concept that there will be four survivors facing off against a single killer. Sure, survivors die during the match, but through this natural build of pressure players learn to use these perks to their fullest as well as their resources. A hook sacrifice takes two minutes to kill a survivor. During the time leading up to an elimination the other players can make progress on their objectives and everyone takes part in a grand mental exercise.
When you disconnect so early that not even a single generator is done, you are not courteously abstaining from playing, you are single-handedly ruining the entire experience.
Imagine that you and your friends are getting together for a boardgame night. You're going to play Monopoly, or Risk, or Dungeons and Dragons, take your pick, and your host brings out fruit punch. The closest thing to a disconnection in this scenario would be saying aloud, "fruit punch? Sorry guys, I wanted grape juice, I'm out." Then dumping the punch bowl directly onto the boardgame.
The point I am trying to drive home is that disconnecting from a match isn't some inherent right to be exercised whenever you find the current situation slightly unpleasant. It's a last resort option added for people that are being held hostage. Abusing this tool discredits those who needed to use it.
but at what point a player not having fun should be BOUND to a match tho?
Let's say we remove the Leave match button and everyone can't leave until the match is ended, do you care if the player X is not having fun at all? If you do, wouldn't you accpet that he should have the right to leave? And if you don't, why YOUR experience should be more important than his? Where do we draw the line?
About the "Dead by Daylight and all of it's characters and perks are balanced around the concept that there will be four survivors facing off against a single killer" I disagree with you, many people disagree with you and we should leave it at that.

huntress able to get a cross map hatchet = sweaty killer???
maybe he should have saved that dc for a nurse game but doing this against a huntress in the beginning of the game screams skill issue.
I think with how often dcs are now they might very well be increased in the future you people deserve it with how much of babies you are.
skill issue or not, it was his choice and I don't see the point of how this topic will help with that lol
-
You know what's funny?
People say it's better now cause the perks are more diverse, but then you say it's not, that the matches takes forever, that if you don't play your best you don't escape, that's always a struggle, that if you don't sit on gen the whole game you all die in like 4 gens left, that everyone is getting tunelled, camped and etc, they say things like:
"just bring prove thyself, off the records, tool boxes and other perks to make go faster..."
??????
Ok, so what about the perk divertity thing? the matches that wouldn't be so sweaty? the "we don't want the killer to feel like they need to bring regression perks (yet that's all they bring now), but we also don't want the survivor rely only on second chance perks and bringing the same over and over again"????
What was the point of this update if not just to change DH for OTR? and Pain Resonance + DMS for... Well, Pain Resonance and DMS?

I get why in the first ten seconds of the game he dc’d, but it ruined the game, thankfully the huntress was nice enough to let us do the gens as soon as the Steve dc’d.
it's just a match, the guy didn't want to play a game with a huntress that could hit axes across the map, is that so hard to understand? He has the right to do so, he got a 5 minute ban for that and I'm sure he did something better with his time other than stress about a sweaty killer with buggy hit boxes.
I get why he dc'd and I get how it ruined your match, but when that happens you can always find the huntress, get killed by her and move on to another match that, hopefully, no one dc. No need to let it get to you.

i saw it twice since the update

So I can hook the same survivor three times in row without laying a finger on anyone else as long as I let them touch a gen first? Good to know.
Unfortunately, most of the survivors I play against don't seem to see it the same way. I've tried just hooking them with the intention of not downing them again until I get everyone else on deathhook. I'd say it worked out fine maybe a third of the time. The rest of the time either they suicide or DC because they think they are being tunneled out, or the other survivors leave them to die as they also think they are being tunneled out and probably camped, and/or I get leveled after the game with accusations of tunneling.
When I slug that survivor instead, almost everytime they get picked up and I'm able to hook someone else, continuing my rotation of hooks. I get "gg wp" and "<3" in the endgame chat and everyone overall seems to have a better time. Even if their teammates are potatoes and leave them slugged, I still have the option of going back and picking them up to let them wiggle off if the are on the ground too long.
Slugging is healthy for the game, when it's not used to be an ass.
yes
anti-tunel perks says it all:
"it deactivates after performing a conspicuous action"
If the survivor found a gen and felt comfortable enough to sit on it, it means he is not worried that the killer is after him. Which means the killer isn't on his back right after being unhooked. After being unhooked the survivor can: Hide and heal or find a safe spot to loop in case the killer finds him. If the survivor chose to do gens, what's wrong with punishing him for it? Better to hook than slug, there's nothing FUN in being slugged, especially if you camp the body. Just hook and be done with the match.

because you have to hit them multiple times wasting time and the game will not end until you do so, the same as you have to waste time bleeding out on the ground. In BHVR's eyes, the game will end no matter what, so who cares? Either way the player is being held by the other player after the game has already been decided.
nah, you're not making the argument that a 4 minute bleed time is the same as a teabag at the exit gate. You have the power to force them out.
-
oof course it counts lol
if too many people are dc'ing, there's something wrong with the game or with the comunity that doesn't want to play it like they should

not any worse than standing at the exit gate as a group refusing to leave and flashlight macroing. Both sides have BM that the devs refuse to acknowledge, all we can do is do our part to not contribute.
but if you stand at the gate teabagging the killer can force you out of the game just by downing you
in what world is this the same as slugging the last survivor just for fun?
what a lousy comparison

Look at me, I'm a killer, DH never really bothered me, DS never really bothered me, most maps are fine, I love body blocking and altruistic survivors, I only wanted spine chill nerfed against stealth killers...
Slugging is part of the game.
Now there should be a way for survivors to speed up the bleed out timer to combat the moron killers who get their chuckles from slugging someone then standing there nodding their head while they bleed out for four minutes, but slugging is part of the game.
Slugging is what keeps me from tunneling that survivor I just hooked a minute ago who I ran into again on a gen. By slugging I can maintain the pressure I need play respectfully, rather than hooking her and being forced to tunnel her out. Slugging is the only real way to deal with sabo and flashlight squads.
Slugging to be an ass is a different thing entirely and survivors need tools to handle that specific situation.
Your mistake is thinking going for a survivor doing gen is tunneling
In my conception, tunneling is going for a survivor RIGHT AFTER he was unhooked just to get him out of the game
If the survivor was doing gens, he wasn't being tunneled. That's why DS and BT deactivates after touching a gen. So you didn't really need to slug anyone.

I don't know why they didn't just have Merciless Storm have a maximum amount of time it activates for.
Merciless Storm will activate for 9 seconds after the generator reaches 90%.
It takes 9 seconds after Merciless procs with 1 person for it to be completed. Less if there are multiple people on the generator.
it's beyond me how they couldn't have MS to have a limit time activation. It's THAT simple.

so you didn't say that you liked being tunneled cause that was an interaction with the killer but people complain about that and about doing gens, so maybe, they didn't like the game?

I didn't say that. Content creators curse. People will argue about ######### I didn't even say
But who said if you don't like being tunneled you automatically don't like interacting with the killer? You said that in your video.
The survivor roles are = interact with the killer + do gens + totems + chests + help team mates
but you said "if you don't like doing gens and don't like bein tunneled, maybe you don't like the game"
didn't you say that?
So it's that all DBD is about? either you do gens or you get tunneled out of the game to the next match, right?

Yeah but its really weird when I make a personal piece on my thoughts on tunneling and then people tell me that my own feelings on tunneling are wrong. Some weird ass gaslighting. You're supposed to not 100% agree with me because you're not me. I'm not making a statement to be scrutinized to begin with.
the thing is, you could say: "TO ME I love getting tunneled, but I get why people don't like it"
Instead you said: "I love being tunneled, if you don't like it, you don't like the game"
that's not a personal place on your thoughts, that's you judging the people who doesn't agre with you.

@Thusly_Boned said:
I think pretty much all of Scott's commentary since the patch release has been totally on point, and I agree that survivor with zero killer interaction would be horribly dull.
But one thing not accounted for here, and is one area where the feedback of those who play the game for a living falls short is that the vast majority of people just aren't as good as they are.
Even as a killer main, Scott is a good enough surv that being tunneled out is likely a process that will take a good portion (or virtually all) of a game. For most survs against a decent+ killer, being tunneled out of a game might be a matter of only 3-4 minutes. Or less, if your team farms you.
That is not fun.
But I am not sure what can be done about it. As he says, and as we all know, if a killer is determined to tunnel you out even at the cost of the game, it's going to happen (unless you are on a strong SWF).
finding a way to punish a killer who kills a survivor with zero hooks on anyone else might be a good way to look at it.
-
@ScottJund said:
Oh God please don't discuss that here I know my opinion is the minority

I guess my MMR at its lowest because I lose as survivor a lot recently and I go against killers that only equip frosty eyes as cosmetic.
And I get a lot of legions. I know that we should stay separate and keep killer away from teammates. But my teammates seem to be beginners and they often try to group up and heal instead of doing gens.
At current state game is more punishing to survivor mistakes and it's easy to make mistake against legion.
it's not really about team mates being new to the game, it's that in SOLO Q, sometimes there's no way of telling where the others are
So you might just be doing the gen next door to a team mate when the legion hits him and done, you're next in line
you can use perks to see auras, but not everyone does that
These people saying "it's easy to face legion, just play far from each other" don't know how solo q works. Especially now that gens take forever to get done when you're alone in a gen, they say you should bring Prove Thyself every match, but if you do, how will you use it and separate from your team? It makes no sense.

I love Silent Hill but unfortunately, the series only has Pyramid Head as a famous antagonist. I can't think of any other villain or monster that could fit well in DBD. Valtiel is not memorable enough to be a standalone killer. Walter is the same (not counting the fact that he is a human and his "power" is a gun?) They would only find something worth it if they use the Bogeyman (Downpour) or the Butcher (Origins), and quite frankly none of those are good choices for DBD, because, well, nobody knows/care about them.
SH has many killers and they don't need to be famous to come to DBD.
The series has an enormous potential for DLC's, they just need to be creative about it

What if I tell you that, unless you have the stats to show me, the plural of 'anecdote' is not and never will be 'evidence'?
I see lots of DCs and suicides.
Thing is - I saw just as many before the patch.
I suspect that this entire thing is 50% the equivalent of 'change this or I troll ur game' and 50% people seeing what they are looking for to support their position.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3088319#Comment_3088319
No, it indicates that we need stronger penalties for DCing and probably something to stop suiciding. Basically every PvP game I've ever played had tons of ragequits, unless there was a strong penalty for doing this.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3088416#Comment_3088416
I totally disagree.
Survivors have plenty of strong options to help them in the endgame, as well as some new tools like baseline BT (allowing you to trade a lot easier).
A few nerfs were a bit heavy handed (welcome to killer life for the past 3 years) but most of them were fine, and will - once people stop it with the Chicken Little-ing and adapt - likely end up with a much healthier game overall.
"I saw just as many before the patch"
using your own words, can you show evidence?

How do two people go down in 5 seconds with 5 gens up? The only answer is them somehow both being chased by the same huntress which makes no sense it requires both of them to break the one rule which is to spread out to prevent a situation like that even happening.
don't know, maybe she was chasing one of them, he/she ran to the other one doing a gen and downed them both?

I don't know, I had never faced a huntress that did that, but that's not the only thing that made them dc
it's a set of things
if they both went down with 5 gens still, the survivors probably felt powerless knowing that their gen take now up to 90+ seconds to get done with a powerful and angry 2 feet tall huntress after them.

Except for I'm pretty sure it's common knowledge survivors are doing it on purpose because they don't like the patch or out of sheer baby rage. You guys got it to work with Legion, then Spirit. I don't think you'll have a third go round.
even if it's on purpose, that's not what they want to happen in their game, i know this and you know this
they didn't make a game so people can troll like this, I have no doubt in my mind that they will have to do something about it, in the end, every game company need their player base, and this playerbase is broken right now. Um, you're 100% correct that it's ok to have meta perks. You clearly misunderstand. Nobody is pretending a meta shouldn't exist. The devs said the meta was stale and they were correct.
It sounds like you thought you just delivered the death blow with your argument, but you ended up outlining my point rather well. Thanks guy!
not really, you don't need me to be that pretentious, it seems like it's something you do very well.
so now we wait until this meta becomes stale and you start to complain about the same things again I guess
and btw, you're wrong, they said the problem was survivors and killers running the same perks every match so they changed a lot of perks to make people not having to bring the same perks to the trial and make it more dynamic. Now there are already 2 perks we MUST BRING to have a chance to succeed, soon enough, the prove thyself meta will be the problem.
