Like I can already see reddit posts about people not liking the turrets, and comparing him to singularity, but you people that think I'm wrong ok fine. When alien releases, and nobody plays him cause who the hell wants to be bullied by turrets, I'll be here waiting to say I told you so.

One basic attack destroys the turret you know that right? You don't have to be that dramatic it doesn't leave you paralyzed for the rest of the match.

with my ticket on the same topic i was told that this is not griefing.

Well that's strange. Idk if they expect another survivor to hook you to consider it griefing LMAO.

  • It is? This is exactly the situation they described. I don't think they're asking if it's a permanent ban lol.

    image.png

  • I would think so since it's griefing and they refuse to participate in normal gameplay loop.

  • Ok this is kinda crazy. I didn't know people went to these extremes? It's very apparent they do it to gain advantage over others and it's not a "it looks/sounds better to me" kinda thing. I'm hoping they can at least admit it LOL.

Reminds me of when people who used stretch-res were trying to convince others saying it looks better for them but to anyone with a pair of eyes and common sense it was clear why they were doing it.

Personally I'd prefer the silencing aspect to be all encompassing. Plague puking? Silent. Clown gas coughing? SIlent. Creepy crawlies of Wesker's Ourobouros? Silent. Any Killer specific sound effect still has all of its mechanical effects, just no sound cues for them. Plague with the Iri add-on would still see the Survivor's aura when puking, but you wouldn't hear them through the wall.

Oh I see that's also a really cool idea and fits in with the perk description.

    This ^

Remove the negative they attached to the perk and make it silence all these killer interaction sounds. You could also include the sound of using the Plague fountains and opening vaccine boxes. Basically all sounds interacting with a killers tools on the map or their ability.

    Yes this also makes sense.

Guys stop falling for @Coffeecrashing he’s trolling to get on your nerves.

Yeah took me a while but figured it out. None of their comments relate to Calm Spirit and nothing they say is based in reality LOL.

  • As someone who went through old eruption, unlimited pain resonance, pre-nerf call of brine and overcharge combinations I'm traumatized and lost my senses when it comes to playing solo.

Stealth is now considered toxic, apparently. Well, sorry for all those times I hid behind a tree because I'm not a god-tier looper who can hold the killer's attention for 30 minutes. I truly am the disease that is destroying Dead by Daylight.

To speak seriously and on-topic: as a compulsive chest-opener and totem-breaker, I'd love to have the downside of this niche perk removed so I can run it and do those things at the same time without unnecessary inconvenience.

You toxic Calm Spirit exploiter! You keep 3-genning us with your pre-leave tactics! 😠

  • Yeah the current rewards aren't really worth it to be honest and most of survivor dailies are annoying.

  • Steam servers keep going on and off tonight. Most people including me can't even login right now. Maybe it's related to that?

Thanks mod for deleting my comment btw

You are completely wrong. Steam never updated and the policy update rumors are nothing BUT rumors. The policy text was there since the introduction of family share and DLC sharing only broke on the last update. BHVR always encouraged DLC Sharing, stop spreading misinformation.

Ok chill? This is a bug report section LOL. They're not the person you should be mad at anyways.

    1) Buffing Calm spirit would encourage more people to play Calm spirit.

    2) Calm spirit encourages survivors to excessively pre-leave generators at the first hint of a visual terror radius, and run far away, being fully aware their running won't trigger any crow alerts. This makes it excessively annoying to find the survivors, and encourages killers to just kick the generator and patrol the generators some more. And this encourages long 3 gen games, because the survivors are playing the same so safely that the generators aren't getting done, and the killer doesn't have a reasonable chance to get into a short ranged chase with a survivor.

    3) Any perk that encourages survivors to excessively pre-leave generators, or encourages survivors to excessively hide in general, should be nerfed into the ground, and stay nerfed into the ground.

  • Ugh they had such a cool idea that ended up being boring.

Like you have humongous drones pick me up spin me around or something idk gorl. 😭

  • It was a little bit cluttered but I liked the idea of perks having actions or status effects explained next to them.

When I first started DbD, for a long time I thought "Exposed" meant the killer can see my exact location... but the problem is the game never told me and I had to figure it out eventually. So this could help newer player understand the game better.

  • Yeah you bring a couple of add-ons, spam tvs and someone's condemned in a couple of minutes. It doesn't really matter if they get a tape you can slap it off their hand and give more stacks of condemned anyways. All my games have been just running from tv to tv trying to catch up with her spam LOL.

  • I think they're referring to how SM's drone zones give her haste like MFT.

This only true if they do the 3 gen build. If they use it as a chase too then should earn respect.

Ofcourse but realistically how often do you go against a "Chase Skull Merchant"? LOL.

I have no issue dying to a Nurse or Blight, because they have mastered a very difficult power and have shown skill. I'm fine going down to any killer really, if I can see that they are very honed in on that killers power and clearly have practiced with them a lot. Knight and skull merchant have the most brain dead power, requires zero skill to use. If you enjoy the killer, good for you, but I for one am not going to be impressed with your win.

The fact that Knight's power is literally AI.😭 It plays for you.

  • Where did you get this information?

  • The thing is with Blight or Nurse at least the game ends at some point and they don't leave chases to check on their designated 3-gen until the server shuts down LOL...

I think that saying exists for legal reasons. It is mentioned in most games.

It means for example "Dwight is not intended to be a parody or portrayal of x (known person)." So it protects them from accusations about making fun of a political figure or have them in a violent game without their consent for example by having that statement out there.

Calm spirit encourages survivors to excessively pre-leave generators when the visual terror radius shows an icon, and it encourages the survivors to just run far away, because they don’t need to worry about crow alerts. This means killers don’t have a reasonable chance at all of finding these survivors, and are instead encouraged to just kick the generator and patrol the generators some more. And when this cycle repeats itself, it just encourages the game to extend to ridiculous lengths as a 3 gen situation.

And 3 gen situations need to be fixed on both sides. Killers need to be encouraged to chase survivors, and survivors need to be encouraged to stop excessively hiding. And buffing calm spirit would just make the 3-gen situation even worse, and therefore should be avoided.

Did I just read this? Is this a real post?

You left out the part where Calm Spirit literally doesn't do or cause any of that LOL... BFFR...

still crazy that the perk that requires time to set up gives less haste than the one whose requirement is "be injured and not exhausted"

Yeah kinda weird how MFT makes Dark Theory obsolete LOL. I feel like they could totally switch?

Boon: Dark Theory: 3% haste at all times. Limited area and takes time to setup. Killer can hear and disable it if they choose to.

MFT: 2% when injured and not exhausted.

But I'm sure some people have better ideas I just made this up LOL.

The problem is that survivors are demanding for BHVR to fix the 3 gen problem, which is happening partially because of survivors excessively pre-leaving generators so they can excessively hide….. but when survivors want 3 gens to be nerfed, they want 100% of the changes to be killer nerfs, even though survivors are partially to blame.

Yes... yes... It's all survivor's fault! This is all because of Calm Spirit! I hate Calm Spirit!

Justice for Skull Merchant she did nothing wrong!

    Nerf 3-gen Calm Spirit!

I get the hope thing, but why do you mention resilience? I use resilience and it doesn't make me run faster. I'm curious as to how it relates to MFT?

I think because it combos well with the "stay injured" idea but honestly that's called perk synergy which is a factor they consider when creating new perks. It's what makes perks fun.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3518956#Comment_3518956

Survivors excessively hiding, is one of the biggest problems in the game. It’s partially the reason why the 3-gen scenarios keep happening, because killers won’t commit to a chase, and the survivors are excessively pre-leaving generators to hide.

Any perk that has massive uptime, that encourages survivors to excessively hide from the killer, even if they aren’t in a chase, should be nerfed into the ground, like calm spirit was nerfed.

There are so many complaints about camping and tunneling, and how the killers should be forced to chase other survivors, but at the same time people want stealth perks that just completely remove entire killer tracking mechanics. Yes, if a survivor is pre-leaving a generator because of the visual terror radius, and they’re leaving so early that the killer won’t see scratchmarks, then the killer absolutely deserves to see crow alerts to help them find where the survivor ran to. Because really, the real problem is survivors want to be able to run around the map without wanting to worry about crow alerts, instead of needing to slow down when they are near crows, if they want to hide where they went.

Trust me it ain't that deep. 😭 I just proposed a simple idea for a perk with a low pick-rate.

I appreciate your enthusiasm against Calm Spirit but there isn't much left to discuss or debate about this perk.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3518924#Comment_3518924

Pointing out double standards isn’t a whataboutism. If you have reasons why a survivor perk should be buffed, we should also be able to apply this to killer perks. Otherwise, you’re just making up fake reasons to buff a specific perk, that shouldn’t apply to other perks, because that would be inconvenient for you.

Calm spirit was nerfed and buffed at the same time. This was intentional. Do you honestly think BHVR intended the perk change to be a buff only? Like, BHVR made a major change, and has been oblivious that it lowered the pick rate?

Your entire argument revolves around the fact that perks can’t be buffed and nerfed at the same time, which is false.

None of those things you've listed are my argument nor do I have to have an argument against someone who starts their "nerf calm spirit" campaign under my post with made up information.

As I said if Calm Spirit with its >0.8% pickrate is such a problem and a game-changer for you: you can create your own discussion to bring awareness to this obviously over-powered perk.

  • I can't believe this is considered a hot take now. I really thought all the talks about "nerf lightborn" was just a joke all this time. 😭

Can we use the same logic for Stridor, which was also labeled as a buff? We should allow Stridor to override -100% sound perks, because BHVR labeled the Stridor perk change as a buff? And it currently has a terrible pick rate, just like Calm spirit, so we should also remove the nerfed part of Stridor, and keep everything else the same, right?

Doesn't change the fact that half your comments about Calm Spirit were misinformed and made up. So this debate doesn't lead anywhere. Thank you for your very valuable feedback on this topic though. I'm disengaging from whataboutism under a post about Calm Spirit.

    @Emeal said:

I disagree its useless, as a Killer I use some perks that causes screams and I also use evidence of crows either flying off or coming back to triangulate Survivor locations. You may do other things that counter act this special kind of stealth you get from it, but useless? from one perk? idd need more evidence to call it useless.

    Evidence: https://nightlight.gg/perks/Calm_Spirit

"I use scream perks and that one time a survivor got Calm Spirit value" isn't much of an evidence either. I agree it does have use in very niche situations. But other than that it's a waste of a perk atm also considering it's drawback.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

Calm spirit had a high enough pick rate that BHVR gave it a drawback.

You want the drawback removed, which would effectively make it even more powerful than it was before the first meta shakeup? And we’re all remembering that when the perk didn’t have a drawback, it had a pick rate that was high enough that BHVR gave it a drawback?????

They didn't give it a drawback because it had a high pickrate. They "buffed" and added a brand new function to it which is the silent interactions with chests and totems and they made it so there was a trade-off since you do them in silence. But the feature they added doesn't even accomplish much that justifies a drawback.

You are literally making stuff up by the way? There was no time frame where the perk had that function and didn't have the drawback. Patch 6.1.0.:

    image.png

"And we’re all remembering that when the perk didn’t have a drawback, it had a pick rate that was high enough that BHVR gave it a drawback?????" you are literally just making stuff up along the conversation. No we don't remember. Because it didn't happen.

While I don't agree with what they wrote, don't dismiss tracking survivors by crows. If someone is creeping around it's a great alert system. Not to mention if you are searching an area great tool for seeing if someone has been around lately.

The thing is Calm Spirit already has this function and it's not going to get changed. The point of my post is about silent actions and how it doesn't need a drawback if we look at the effectiveness and pickrate of the perk.

Are you also going to tell me there was no anti-regression revolution in the 2nd meta shakeup, and BHVR was just nerfing the popular killer perks?

Can people just admit they want calm spirit buffed so they can excessively hide from the killer, and try to avoid any interaction with the killer?

Dude go against 4 MFTs Hopes Adrenalines Sprint Bursts then I don't care GOSH.

If you want Calm Spirit nerfed that bad make your own post.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3518858#Comment_3518858

One of the main goals of the first meta shakeup was to nerf stealth perks that are active for large portions of the game. This is why Iron Will, Spine chill, and Calm spirit were all supposed to be nerfed at the same time.

This is also why iron will was functionally reworked into Off the record, because 100% removing grunts of pain should be on a limited timer.

Survivors should not be encouraged into excessively hiding when they aren’t in a chase, and stealth perks should have limitations.

Why are you making stuff up? There was no anti-stealth revolution? They did a meta shakeup because some perks were used a lot and some didn't hence the word meta? Iron Will and Spine Chill were meta with a very high pick-rate and that's why they got nerfed not because they're stealth perks. On the other end Calm Spirit got "buffed" but even in it's "buffed" state it sucks and this is why I made the post to bring attention to it.

https://nightlight.gg/perks/Calm_Spirit you are right. The perk is clearly OP. With it's 0.8% usage rate. Nerf it instead! Also, nerf Hoarder too - totally destroys 1 base mechanic (chest looting) as well so it's clearly too OP as is.... /s

I just don't understand these people that want things nerfed just because the other side uses them. If you at least thought about it a little - buffed calm spirit in this manner would still highly benefit killers, because it would still be awful perk, but maybe a few more people would run it (instead of something that is actually useful which - people are complaining about - say made for this).

I don't care if devs buff the perk. It would still be bad even if they use OP's version. I just can't fathom why some people would be against buffing clearly absolutely useless perk into bad perk. Especially if we are talking about killer main (to clarify on a specific example - I would understand some survivors not wanting to buff say self care from 35% to 40% - because more people would bring it and because it would still be bad making net-result still worse then current version where less people bring it, but this is not the case as @Coffeecrashing is clearly just killer main)

Some people are just contrarians and come up with anything... I bet they go against 0.8% pick rate Calm Spirit a lot and it's very strong.

Honestly if they are that happy going against 4 MFTs every match I don't care let them have it LOL.

  • Since that's the order names are written in Chinese, Japanese and Korean it would include other survivors too:

    Park Jake

    Min Feng

    Kimura Yui

    Lee Yun-Jin

    Asakawa Yoichi

Okay this would take some time getting used to LOL.

It removes the crow alerts for that survivor for the entire game, which is an entire killer tracking mechanic.

Calm spirit shouldn’t be removing an entire killer tracking mechanic for the entire game. If the perk only affected screaming, that would be fine.

If you use crows instead of scratch marks to track survivors I don't know what to tell you.

"Calm spirit shouldn’t be removing an entire killer tracking mechanic for the entire game." Calm Spirit already does this in its current state? So you're asking for a nerf?

that's a good point. for me the female vaults don't feel any different than before the patch. male vaults on the other hand throw off my muscle memory because of the new (bugged) distance.

Most people in this community cannot differentiate between intended mechanical changes vs. a bug. Example:

    https://twitter.com/OtzdarvaYT/status/1686534140680609792

Like this is clearly a bug where survivor for some reason loses weight when vaulting off heights. That is clearly not intended and how a fast vault animation should play. If you have common sense you can tell.

But NO! People get angry and heated how could they buff vaults like this it's totally OP and broken! This is so unfair Otz said so!

    It's kinda funny LOL.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

This perk removes an entire killer tracking mechanic from the game, for the entire length of the game.

The downside should only be removed if the crow immunity is also removed. Just have the perk only prevent screaming, and have that be the entire effect of the perk.

It really doesn't unless you are playing blindfolded or don't have access to a pair of eyes.

There's a reason nobody is using this perk.

  • Believe me they'll still guilt-trip you into thinking vaults are broken and M1 killers are unplayable right now because of the "new vaults" when this is realistically what most of the matches play like LOL.

  • This would make certain survivors "meta".

Any lobby you load into you see Megs just because her unique perk is strong and so on.

Players choosing survivors based on their "power" and not because they like their design, lore or find them interesting.
