- Survivors don't have powers. They only have perks.
- Survivors can't see what killer you're playing so even if they switchout perks last second it doesn't mean much and it's a gamble.
- Each killer has their own MMR when looking for match.
- You can't just jump into a lobby then switch to Plague once you see all survivors with medkits. Survivors can't do that and you're not entitled to have that power either. It's unfair.
- You still have the upper hand as killer since you can at least adjust your perks according to survivor items.

Don't try to hide this as anti tunneling perk.
It's just not, it doesn't matter if killer is tunneling or not. You just want to annoy him with this perk.
Daddy chill

I think Calm Spirit is the funniest perk in the game. You hit the survivor and they don't even react you just hear the hit sound LOL.
In terms of balance it really sucks. The 30 percent speed reduction to actions isn't justified, it doesn't do anything spectacular.

it would still be meh considering so limited boon range (which is reason I consider all boons meh) + setup time.
But it would be funny watch people stressing over it until they get to experience it (same way as was the case for blood rush)

Sure,
I would hate it a lot as a killer tho...
Nothing is more annoying that SWF with 4 headons. This would make it possible even without SWF and make it way easier for SWF.
Well SWF can already do that if they want to.
Trust me you don't get cracked survivors like that in soloq LOL.
But I understand how it is annoying.

As survivor all you can do is pray the killer isn't playing like a rat. The only win condition on survivor right now is to do gens faster than they can regress them. So bring toolboxes and prove thyself. Adrenaline is also a very very strong perk right now. Just be aware that this is the hardest the game has ever been for survivor ever. And the pip system hasn't been changed to reflect that.
General tips, don't be the first person chased/downed. Don't be the last person chased/downed. Be on a gen 24/7, don't waste time looking around for other objectives or heals right now.
I'm pretty sure OP knows the tools to help them pip.
They are referring to situations out of their control which very often happens in DBD. Going against a killer with scummy tactics who doesn't give you much opportunity to play the game or survivors giving up on first hook when you play killer.
-
I remember when Legion had an add-on that gave them map-wide terror radius when in Frenzy.
It was so headache-inducing and overstimulating. So happy we got rid of it.
-
I swear I never came across a Singularity player since the Anniversary event.

Tunneling isn't unstoppable and the other 3 survivors can attempt to protect the person being tunneled.
If a killer wants you out of the game they will get you out of the game unless they suck big time.
The game is designed for the killer to catch up to you at some point and if they want to tunnel you out you're out.

The perk doesn't need a buff, you just need to learn how to better use it in solo-q

Cant come soon enough, right now i see no reason to play the game honestly. Got everyone on P3+ so all i can do now is prestige my chars, but i dont want them to be high prestige.
So since a few months i rarely even boot up the game, and when i do i quit after 1 or 2 games since i dont feel rewarded for playing. I either waste BP by not spending them or work on making a char unplayable like i already did with Ace. Such a bad feel to spend 100 Mio BP into a character just to never play them because i have a bit fat red number above my head that makes killers go dudu.
Yeah it's so funny that I kinda regret leveling my favorite character too which shouldn't be the case LOL.

I also feel like challenges shouldn't be stuff forcing you to throw the game...
They should be stuff that happen naturally throughtout normal gameplay loop...

Here's what I have experienced so far for having a P100 character in Dead by Daylight:
📌 in-game harassment and judgment for investing in a character I like
📌 people assuming I'm suppose to be invincible
📌 getting called sweaty or a no-life
📌 killers lobby-dodging when they see me as if I'm an e-sports legend
📌 made fun of at game-chat because somehow being P100 should've guaranteed my win
Here's what I haven't experienced so far for having a P100 character in Dead by Daylight:
📌 people thinking I just like that character's design or lore a lot and know how to farm bloodpoints
I know others have also made discussions regarding this and it seems like an easy option to implement. We already have an option regarding delayed match-making to prevent in-game harassment and ranks were made invisible years ago to combat the same issue. None of these reflect the skill of the player. What's the difference now?

I made a discussion about this a while ago and it gathered a lot of support even a Mod confirming talks about this option but we out here waiting.

Well, OP said their internet "was interrupted 4 times". Maybe if you see your internet is not working properly and you disconnect 2 or 3 times you can just simply stop playing for a while until you see it is fixed and not risk getting a penalty for a 3º or 4º time.
And if we want to get real picky, he could also have called his internet provider to check if there was any problem with his connection and when it would be fixed.
Either way, it was his choice to keep trying to play with an obvious unstable connection and risk getting disconnected against his will multiple times.
Yeah I agree. Occassional internet disconnects are normal here and there but if I figured out something is wrong with my internet I don't force myself to play the game knowing I'll keep disconnecting on others.
But I also don't understand how some people here act all mighty and pretend they've never lost connection during online games their whole lives.

Its in my control somewhat, cause I used my Votes in a Democracy. I vote for a party that keeps companies in check.
I live in a country were monopolies are not allowed and so if they screw up the connection, I can get a better Service at another company, so they have incentive to keep the connection flawless or lose customers. Therefore connection issues are very rare these days, I can count issues I have had with my connection on my hand over the last 10 years. So occasional it certainly isn't.
But I have my parents and their parents to thank for this and the politicians they voted for, they made good decisions in the past.
That is how you make sure companies provide a stable connection and how you can ensure you can play Dead by Daylight.
Thanks for reading my guide. Make your vote count, make the World better.
Yeah sounds more like privilege.
-
@Emeal said:
Why are you playing if your equipment isn't working properly?
You've never had an occasional connection problem in your life ever? How's that in your control?
-
If only there was a way to distinguish between ragequit dcs vs. connection problem dcs.
Both could get a penalty with ragequit dcs being harsher.
-
Or we can accept the fact that most people choose to play online games with their friends.
-
To be honest that's awesome that a group of survivors come together and try to fight off an Alien. Teamwork that lasted a couple of seconds until Alien destroyed all the turrets but it was fun to see!
-
Do you guys think it's necessary to let Wesker know where you are once you used the spray? I feel like that's doing a bit too much and helps him tunnel often since you inevitably have to use it or you have a very big penalty.
Nemesis syringe does the same thing but you can choose not to use it and be at a greater risk of his power as a trade off but with Wesker you don't have a choice but to use it and reveal your location.
I feel like other than that and his inconsistent hitboxes he is fine.
-
Yes! Even a simple message like "This player enjoyed playing with you!" would be nice. I always go out of my way to appreciate people if they were really fun to go against, skillful, played fair etc. so this would be a really neat feature to have if I can somehow reward that player!
-
Only happens with women survivors by the way so I'm not sure if it's intended but I noticed it too.
-
Mama you keep your points plus you get extra points for escaping even though the killer disconnected and you didn't escape like intended.
-
This is how vaults should work but everyone got used to getting the dumbest hits ever so this feels broken to them. I don't care that much though since I'm used to stuff taken away once big content creators whine about it.

Buckle up was only "weak" until 6.5.0 , the 10% haste is a very good effect for a pickup.
Problem is, survivor mains only consider perks to be good if they offer a second chance /erase a mistake.
Second chance / Mistake erasers never feel good to play against and have no place in the game.
Again, a balanced perk provides you with benefits for doing a specific action. WGLF is a perfect example.
Well it's not really fair to pull out a "survivor main" argument here since everybody uses perks to gain an advantage otherwise no reason to use them. Both sides have second chance perks and it's okay.
Also I'm a survivor main who made this topic and acknowledge that this combo can be annoying and busted sometimes I don't see any "killer main" making this a topic.
Also sorry I can't pretend old Buckle Up was even slightly good. It definitely needed a change but I think they could've turned it into something else instead of slapping endurance and haste to it like with every perk nowadays.

WGLF applies a massive healing speed bonus to Survivors in the Dying State. Buckle Up does no such thing. In terms of applying Endurance, Buckle Up is better, but for actually getting Survivors off the ground, WGLF wins here.
Previous Buckle Up was not fine, it was pretty objectively terrible.
Well healing bonus is irrelevant when you can just insta-heal using For the People and Buckle Up instead.
I agree that previous Buckle Up was bad but I don't understand this new trend of slapping endurance and haste to every perk now instead of coming up with something fun.

If the killer picks up somebody, hooking will happen in 16 seconds tops or the survivor wiggles out. This is the time-frame where you should be applying whatever counter-measures you did before.
So I don't touch a gen for 16 seconds out of paranoia?

Oh, I'm not ignoring it's gameplay effects either - I'm happy about those. You gave the impression that it was just an afterthought besides your main issue.
Hook related perks are still quite easy to dodge, as there isn't a particularly long window where hooking can happen.
Well teach us then because everyone is struggling right now.

This issue with Buckle up is the fact that its essentially "Previous perk but better"
Why use WGLF when it requires a token + only provides endurance to the picked up , when you have Buckle up doing it to both for the same ammount of time, without requiring a token?
Previous Buckle up was fine ,10% haste after being picked up for both.
Perk effects need to be unique and not fall into "previous perk but better" territory and were seeing this more and more, MFT is a better Dark Theory , BT was made absolete with the basekit BT mechanic, now Buckle up is a better WGLF...
If the goal at BHVR is to diversify the perk usage, yall should start by looking as to why certain perks are used and their effects, not make/turn previous perks into "I Win buttons"
It's like changes are made then forgotten about and they are so inconsistent.
💫 Buckle Up buffed to be a better version of WGLF and combos with FTP even though they didn't want that to happen before with MFT?
💫 Boil Over was nerfed to %80 because %100 was doing "too much" but since the new wiggle system it's basically back to being %100?
💫 Pain res was changed where you didn't let go off the gen so it wouldn't combo with Dead man switch or Merciless Storm but then they work together again now for some reason?
Like... hello? It's kinda funny.

I like that screams now align better with the animation.
It makes sense that the expectation of pain induces a scream, and not just pain itself.
Sorry I get it but I can't ignore the effect it has on the gameplay which matters more than immersion for me. I've stated the effect it has on my post.

There’s something severely wrong with bhvr’s communication with the community if this many of us think this intentional change is a bug. It seems a little odd that there’s multiple details that weren’t in the most recent PTB but are in the live build now. It’s almost like they didn’t want us seeing them before hitting live.
This. I didn't even post all the screenshots of them literally replying back to back forcing this change onto us like "It'll take some time to get used to!"... But why? Why don't we make changes to stuff that actually matter instead?
-
@Mandy said:
The reason that FTP doesn't work with MFT is because you have to be healthy to use FTP and you have to be already injured for the benefits of MFT - as the perk is only active when you're injured. So you use FTP and become injured, hence the effects don't work...which is why we highlighted it on the patch notes because it was something that we listed as a bug in the reports on the PTB but didn't want to cause confusion for players.
So for the endurance status effect to matter at all you would have to been injured but Buckle Up can still bypass this mechanic with the help of For the People?
-
@TheTom20 said:
I tested this combo out with a friend no coms this week an we pulled it off multiple times each game so much easier than i thought it would be
Yeah I played couple of killer matches and it leads to an awkward situation where you can't down 2 survivors for some time and it's a lose-lose situation.
It reminds me of the very old busted version of Borrowed Time where after an unhook both survivors would gain endurance.
Also it's like a free version of WGLF without you needing tokens? Why use WGLF now? Like there's no consistency whatsoever.
-
@UndeddJester said:
Pardon my ignorance... by how does FTP not work with MFT?
I went looking up the perks to check what you were talking aboit, and i cant see anything that describes MFT doesn't work with FTP... but I'm actually looking at the descriptions of FTP and Buckle Up and I now think that the 2 working together might be a bug...
The trivia section for FTP states:
"For the People is a Health-State Switcher, meaning it tells Dead by Daylight to instantly change your and the other Survivor's Health State to a different one.
- This switch is not considered a Healing Action by other game mechanics or other Perks."
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/For_the_People
Buckle Up states:
"Whenever you finish healing another Survivor from the Dying State to the Injured State, Buckle Up applies its effects for the next 6/8/10 seconds."
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Buckle_Up
These 2 points contradict each other... Buckle expressly states healing a survivor from ten dying State.... FTP expressly states its a health state swap... not healing. I may actually raise this as a bug in the bug reporting section...
On 7.0.0 PTB End Transmission MFT and For the People could work together. After testing before it hit live servers they adjusted it so they wouldn't work together on 7.0.0. LIVE:
Release Information Update release: 11AM ET, June 13 DLC release: 12PM ET, June 13 Times are estimates and may vary from platform to platform. Content New Killer: The Singularity Power: Quantum Instantiation A dark crystalline structure in an ancient ruin gifted—or perhaps cursed—Hux with sentience. He built a new body,…But now we have Buckle Up which is actually stronger since it applies endurance to both survivors and it works with For the People since it counts as picking someone up the ground and not a health state. Both the picked up survivor and the person who used For the People will have endurance for a long time.
Which is kind of weird because they made sure MFT wouldn't work like that because it would be doing too much. But functionally stronger version of it made it to live which is Buckle Up.

What do y'all do that makes all 4 survivors quit...

There is one, you are just uncapable of doing it, judging by your "she just spam teleport to build condemned and easily mori you" report. Don't blame the game for your own shortcomings. Read my previous post if you are lost somehow.
Sorry I don't care to or have the time to be sweaty in DbD. I got things to do. Onryo's an instant disconnect for me until they fix her. I'd rather go next.
-
Also because of this change it makes hook-related perks trigger in a very awkward time making it impossible to counterplay or predict.
-
Yeah this sucks. Literally no counterplay available now except for being paranoid and not touching anything.
-
All the Onryo's I went against since the patch just spam teleport to build condemned and easily mori you in a few minutes. So far no engaging gameplay.
It's like they looked at Onryo's playstyles and said how can we promote the most unfun, obnoxious playstyle that makes people want to quit the game.
-
Same here but the opposite!
Before 7.1. bugfix my pre-game chat was closed and it got stuck that way since. Clicking on it doesn't do anything I cannot activate the chat window. Still the same in 7.2. patch.

Yes! This is also a simple solution. If they're so scared of a specific part clipping (which in most cases it doesn't) just make that part linked and free the other parts!

Yeah I can also understand the licensed stuff is linked due to some reasons.
But like you said and I have pictured: some outfits have ZERO reasons.

I never said anything about your motives, I believe you when you explain why you want to hide your prestige level, I just don't care. It's not that deep for me either. I want my experience in the game to be made better, which, with these devs, is likely never going to happen, so at the very least I'd rather it not be made worse, which is what your suggestion would do.
Realistically speaking, with how survivor biased the devs are, you're going to get what you want, but I figure I'd rather speak up about it before it happens so I can at least say that I tried to get my feedback through.
What does this even have to do with being survivor-biased or "us vs. them"... How do you even minimize this topic to that...
Your experience won't change if you don't see my prestige level. I swear, you'll live.
Also I'm disengaging from this conversation. Thank you for your feedback on this topic.

These games aren't totally analogous, but I've been playing a lot of street fighter lately. In SF6 you can see a person's connection type, rank, character, and control type before you match up with them, and based off that you can decide if you want to play against them or not. That's a LOT of info which can be used to give someone an advantage. Only want to play against people using classic controls rather than the easy mode modern controls? You can do that. Don't want to play against a specific matchup because you know it'll be bad for your character? You can do that.
I've played over 500 matches since launch and do you know how many times I've been rejected? 0. You know how many times I've rejected a match? 0. SF6's matchmaking is actually pretty good, so most games don't feel like hopeless curb stomps and the game is mostly balanced enough that even if you get stomped, there's a lot you can look at throughout the match and say "Yeah, I could have done this better"
DBD's matchmaking is abysmal. It's map balance is abysmal. It's perk balance is abysmal. If you're a killer, the deck is almost always going to be heavily stacked against you. I'm not looking for easy games, I want games where I stand a chance. That's not too much to ask for, I mean, street fighter gives me that just fine, despite having comparable player base sizes (again, not perfectly analogous I know), and in the absence of a good matchmaking system, being able to filter out matches that I know for a fact are going to be one sided stomps is important.
I mean I could ask for BHVR to improve their matchmaking, fix their maps and balance perks properly, but that absolutely is asking too much from them, so I'm just trying to keep my ask realistic here.
I just want an option to hide prestige due to reasons on my original post. I swear it's not that deep or complicated.😭
