Destroying a pallet with an invite is on a significant cooldown and takes about the same amount of time as doing it myself.

It really just shuts down flashlights in my eyes while I'm doing it and lets me walk around it while also not turning it into a vault loop.

You can turn around the loop while the pallet is being broken, it is changing the whole timing of DbD in pretty much 100% of the case, it is broken, way more than the fake pallets.

the nurse is not a nightmare, this minde game is a killer, face the fact that you cannot win by simply dropping all the pallets, and start thinking

the easiest way is to run behind the wall and then run out to meet the nurse, even such an easy move will allow you to dodge quite often

and don’t do 1 and the same tactics all the time

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/377338/changes-for-nurse

again, this is minde game killer

if you have no idea how to outwit the nurse at all, then start playing as her see what people are doing, or think under what conditions it would be most difficult for you to catch a survivor

then return to the role of survivor and use the information received

You cannot outplay a Nurse. There are choke points where she can TP on all Jungle Gym/shack/loop and she will always have a line of sight.

You can juke bad nurse, a good one will be unbeatable and you won't do more than 3 gens.

So if we can get the killer to spend 3+ gens worth of time tunneling us using the tools given to us, does that mean they don't exist?

Also what would you propose they do to "prevent" tunneling?

    • when unhooked, the survivor is totally healed + has a 30 seconds BT base kit -> BT base kit is removed for any action done by the survivor
    • rebalance the maps (that killers can really apply pressure)
    • nerf OP perks on both sides

Well anyway, perks have become out of control too, devs have released so many perks that now the game is a mix of bad ideas stacking together giving the possibility to get extremely OP build on both sides. There is no sense anymore in this game.

  • @TatsuiChiyo said:

When Survivors play efficient and do gens quickly, Killers need to git gud and pressure better.

When Killers play efficient and tunnel to apply better pressure, Killers need to play better.

Maybe Survivors should do better chases?

This post brought to you by a Survivor main

Tunneling is unhealthy for the game.

It has been 7 years that killers are tunneling and in 2023 tunneling has become out of control, it is pretty much every trials.

There is nothing healthy about using a broken mechanics that give ez wins, same for gen rushing.

To me, it is like using a wallhack on FPS games, it is exploiting a flaw in the game design that devs refuse to adress.

It does not exist anywhere else being symmetrical or asymmetrical games : L4D, Evolve, Valorant, Hunt Showdown etc...

It means there is a real problem with the game's overall balance/mechanics.

I have completely given up on this event because all I see are three plus tool boxes in every single lobby, genrush meta is so boring, I'm so sick of it and I'm just not having fun anymore. At this point it feels like a complete waste of time to keep playing killer, which for me means it's a complete waste of time to keep playing this game.

Yes, the game has become a chore to play for both sides, there are pretty much no fun trials anymore, many things are too strong or too weak and nothing feels fair, skill ceiling has been dropped down to the floor and i have a ton of exemples :

    • so many pallets on mnost map that you can waste them
    • no flashlight save timing anymore
    • Clown that can spam its bottles (i mean, you do not want the players to need good aim for the bottle ? A 3 seconds cool down should exist here)
    • Nemesis can spam its power as well
    • Syringue, BNP, Antiseptic etc...
    • Hold W META

Well too many things not requiring any skill at all, it is just "press a button for dummies" now.

I’ll echo what someone else in here said, which is that 2k is not a win under any circumstances.

I’ll add my own two cents as well: if I sweat my brow off and only get a 2k, then that makes me feel like not playing anymore. I am not satisfied with a 2k, regardless of who I am facing. If I made mistakes, then fair enough, but DBD makes it nearly impossible to get 3-4k against good squads. In order to do that you have to play defensive by using some form of proxy camping and tunneling, which is also not fun.

    Exactly my point of view.

i understand your position. the thing i'm trying to dig at here is that i feel like little bit little, it can be improved upon rather than having full reliance on the developers. the developers can only do so much to remedy the environment that's created by the people

based on what i've seen, each change that they've made seems to have an equal amount of pushback no matter the context, which is why i wholeheartedly believe that it has to start and end with all of us ^_^

Yup cause they do not adress the issues, they just patch them with perks/add-ons but they do not do the core changes needed.

The state of the game and the amount of toxicity or try harding is their responsability, they have added all those things allowing players to be toxic (Bubba insiduous for exemple).

With today's mindset, if you allow players to be toxic they will be toxic, 20 years ago it was not like this, most players wanted fair games and clean and fair high skilled players were praised by the game's community.

Today, it is full of ESP users and exploit players that do anything to win, even though they kill the fun of the game so if you give those ppl the possiblity to be toxic, they will.

Also, it is another subject, the amount of cheaters in DbD (easily 5 to 10%) is insanely high. When i was playing competitive (esport) in 2004, there was way less cheaters and as said before, we all wanted to have fair games so we did not exploit bugs.

i suggest giving one of my other comments a read, maybe this may shift your perspective on how the game could be played instead if you feel that things are boring or stale! https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3475831#Comment_3475831

I agree with you but i'm not the only players in DbD and most of them have decided try harding is better.

This started when the SBMM has been released, another thing that transformed DbD, a party game into a sweat fest full of try harders while the game has nothing competitive in it. The balance being completely broken and shifting to one side or the other depending the killer that is played, the perks and add-ons used and SWFs or not.

BHVR is doing a survey on balance and stuffs but that is not the concern they should have, they should just ask us : "when playing DbD, are we having more fun than being frustrated ?"

The answers would enlight them on how the community is feeling with the game.

I will add that this is the only game where the other players and the developpers are inviting players to have a break out of frustration, the only multiplayer game in the history of gaming.

taking a break for 6 days is an option! the event is almost over, so you would be able to come back with a fresh state of mind. i recommend it

Fact is they often do this, being event powers or new perks or new META.

In 6 years of DbD, there haven't been a single patch where both sides didn't have something too strong to abuse.

When it was not DH it was DS then COH then Resilience then MFT etc...

For killers when it was not Ruin it was POR then Pop then Petimento etc...

It just brings terrible gameplay mechanics and stale overall gameplay.

2 year old match with worse maps, old DH, old DS, weaker Wraith, old instant heals and medkits etc etc with a player who isn't really all that great playing against one of, if not the best, comp teams.

I agree that there are SWF's that can wreck a lot of Killers. Most people do not understand how to play macro at all. That's an issue with matchmaking more than balance though.

Yes, the matchmaker is that bad.

Momo has a 1200 winstreak on Blight.

I believe Lipy had a 200 winstreak with Oni.

Momo has a 250-ish winstreak with Oni.

Alf has a 600 game Nurse streak.

I'm sure there are more, but those are just the one's that come to mind.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/PRC7OYE5IDE1/dbd-stats-png.png

I play quite a bit of Killer, as you can see. You can even watch me play and kill my way through players worse than me until you get sick.

I dunno what is the most funny in what you say.

I don't know if you are trolling or not actually as i cannot believe that someone with thousands of hours here can genuinely believe that the game is balanced...

Also, old DH and old DS have been replaced by MFT and OTR now, those perks are nearly as strong, MFT is even stronger than old DH in many situations.

Once again, when i play soloQ, i escape 50% of the time and in my lobbies it is not rare that we get 3 escapes.

In SWF, well pretty much all trials are 3E on my side... unless the killer is tunneling and we decide to play altruistic. And my SWF is not the best at all. My previous SWF was unbeatable.

Well, you should really play killer a lot to see how unwinnable are the games against good survivors.

Win streak on Nurse and Blight... ok, bad faith here as i have said tier A or lower killer. You bring S-tier killers here... And your Oni win streak, no way it happened in the current META ;)

He got 8 hooks and 2 Kills against a full meta squad with GHOSTFACE on a meh map.

Full META squad of random :) and he got 2 kills which is not a win.

First off, ad hominem attacks are definitely gonna show how strong your argument is.

Now, onto the actual match, we have a two year old match against a top comp team playing against an okay pub Killer player who is playing Wraith and admits he will not be playing optimally.

Yeah, you're gonna have to do better than that.

As for the other video, Hens' team is playing pubs with comp players on their roster. If you play in a competitive scrim style, you'll win 99% of your matches, as Killer or Survivor.

That's not an attack, it's just the way i feel when i read all your comments on this forum always saying the game is balanced... lol

yup 2 years old match when gen regress perks were extremely strong and where there was no MFT + Resilience combo and where flashlight saves (for exemple) actually required some skill to be performed.

For the second videos, there are a ton of really good SWFs out there, not to the level of Hens'team but still srong enough to wreck pretty much any killers.

+ you then say that in winning 200 trials in a row, climbing to the top of the MMR system, they have never faced a single killer that was able to do 2k against them ?

Meanwhile, even the best killer palyers out there cannot do 50 wins in a row anymore.

But hey, the game is balanced.

    Okay?

That doesn't change anything. The escape rate was still 39% and was likely even lower in actuality. They didn't count DC's which happen often.

39% escape rate but good SWFs wins 90% of their trials, 99% if the killer is not Blight/Nurse.

Conclusion for some ppl on the forum - the game is killer sided

Okay, i guess we have talked enough. Fact that killers cannot win against a good SWF shows the game is survivor sided.

If the survivor players are potatoes to the point they are throwing 60% of their trials, it is their problem, it has nothing to do with balance.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3474573#Comment_3474573

    The game isn't heavily Survivor-sided.

The game cannot be Survivor-sided with Survivors having a measly 39% escape rate.

39% cause survivors are terrible and there is often one, even 2 doing mistakes and throwing the game for the whole team when you play soloQ.

You should explain me why with my SWFs we are getting 3 escapes 70 to 80% of the times and we do not even try hard...

  • @Uxoxe said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3474375#Comment_3474375

The 60% plus kill-rate is still the same. You can keep an excel spreadsheet and see it is.

Also, SBMM is programmed to keep a 60% kill-rate. Nerfs and buffs don't affect something programmed into the games match-making system.

    Saiph is correct.

So the game is not balanced and artificially tweak the stats putting the killer against unbeatable survivors or easy survivors depending if the player has a lower or higher kill rate than 60%.

It does not change that the game is heavily survivor sided.

  • There are many players using hack in DbD.

Many killers abuse wallhack and speedhack.

They try to hide their wallhack with BBQ but then you see them finding you even though BBQ was not triggered.

And for speedhacks, with MFT you can spot them pretty easily, 1 turn around a tile and the killer is on your back, no way with MFT, it takes 4 to 5 turns.

  • @Saiph said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3473528#Comment_3473528

The 60% number also contains hatch which has 1/2 chance of giving an escape to the last survivor for free. You could have your whole team die at 5 gens and get slugged then have the hatch spawn below you still resulting in an escape. So the killrates are artificially lower due to hatch, approximately by 25% / 2 = 12.5%. In reality the adjusted killrate would be 72.5%. See I can do the same.

The kill rate at high MMR was not 40% or 45%, no. It was 61%, shared by the devs themselves.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/QBAVCNOU4QO5/microsoftteams-image-2875-29.png

Yes, now apply to those stats the impact of suicides on hooks and also add the gen regression perks nerf.

It is funny as you act as if the last months changes did not have an impact on the kill rate.

I'm sorry but most killers were stacking gen regress perks in those stats, the META was Pop + COB + Overcharge + POR (at least 3 of them stacked). 3 of those perks had been nerfed to the ground... while that was those perks that gave a chance to the killer to extend the trial duration in oprder to get 3k+.

After this, devs have added MFT... do you need us to explain you how the new survivors META is busted ?

MFT + Resilience + Botany/WWMI + WOO -> you see all pallets to makes looping more efficient, Botany/WWMI negates the global heal nerf, MFT + Resilience increase gen rush and extend chases far too much.

With all this, killers cannot keep up, i have played soloQ last evening, with barely average loopers and still i have escaped like 50% of the time... in soloQ. Most killers could not catch me at all and were forced to drop the chase.

    I have lost to :

a Oni -> other survivors could not sit at gens

a Nurse -> i gave up right at the start, i do not like nurse

a Billy -> well other survivors way too greedy, i gave the Billy a 3 minutes chase while being injured though

a Huntress -> one surv DCed right at the start and well we still finished all gens

For all other trials i have escaped and we were often 3 to escapes.

I do not even see how a tier A or lower killer can win against survivors to my level, the kill rate would be 30% at best i guess if the MMR was strict.

  • @Green_Sliche said:

Killers are not allowed to play casually with fun builds most of time, hence why it's either sweat from a start or be the clown of the party. All these meta shifting changes made killer experience like that.

This + either you get a really, extremely boring and shallow trial against bad survivors (and it is too easy) either you face a death squad you cannot win against unless you camp/tunnel or ends up having a 3 gens with Pop + Overcharge... and you end up kicking gens 20 times in the trial...

  • I guess BHVR will be able, at one point, to release a perk that allows you to one tap a gen 😂

Killers can (and in my opinion, should) complain about tunneling and camping. It saps all fun and life out of the game for the survivor side.

That doesn't make it not a strategy to tunnel and camp people. It's a strategy. Hell, it can be a POWERFUL strategy. That doesn't make it fun.

Who cares ? When survivors stack busted perks + busted items they ruin the fun for the killer and they do not care at all.

Both sides are entilted and want to win no matter what even if it destroys the fun of the game for half the community. This community is the most toxic i have ever seen.

  • Well the game is so unbalanced (and does not reward skill at all) that it is impossible for a killer to win against 4 survivors and it is impossible for 3 survivors to win against a killer.

4vs1 is too strong, 3v1 is too weak.

  • @NerfDHalready said:

You know that you can remove its power the whole game to the point it will be able to use it once or twice during the whole trial ?

Singularity is a M1 killer 99% of the trial, then it is granted the right to use its power 2 times cause survivors are spamming EMPs.

Exactly but remember that ppl here have said :

While this is true, those Killer Streamers also have high Killrates. I remember some time ago (this was way before SBMM was a thing, but also when the game was harder for Killer) someone took their time to look at the games of Streamers to see how many Kills they get.

I think it was tru3, OhTofu and Otz and all of them got at least 3 Kills on average. So it should not be ruled out that non-Streamers also get those numbers.

Those streamers have 10k hours as killers and they face the same survivors than someone having 2k hours.

And still they struggle and have to try hard to win those trials.

Well, i'm off, this forum is full of trolls.

Nope, not all Trials are supposed to be balanced. It is the overall statistics which count. If all Trials were balanced you would get 2K/2E as the most common result, which is not the case. Most Trials are either 4Ks or 4Es. But overall it should balance out.

Also, I never claimed that I win 80% of my games. Just that I dont lose 90% because I am not tunneling. Furthermore, tunneling when the Killer actually needs it is nothing the majority complains about. People complain about tunneling at 5 Gens when the Killer is not really required to do it.

And last but not least - I usually dont bother to explain things when people dont want solutions. You probably never had the thought "Hm... Maybe I did not play THAT well", but blamed other things because you lost. And it this point it would be a waste of time to "explain" stuff.

From what I have seen, players who genuinely ask for help (both sides) get a lot of good feedback in this forum.

So for you a game where you destroy all survivors and then a game where you get completely destroyed is fair ?

Where is the fun actually in stomping or being stomped ?

Go ahead, record your games and show us. There is only on this forum where players claim to win 80% of their games as killers, everywhere else is "killer is impossible now".

You might be part of the top 0,001% of the community.

Condemned Kills should not be a guaranteed or common thing. With the changes the aim is to make it a threat which rarely happens, if you take your time to remove it. So it is more a bit of built-in Slowdown.

You can compare it to Pigs Traps. A Headpop should be rare, the main reason is the Slowdown provided. Condemned is the same.

Unless that the new changes will not slow down anything as you can put the tape to any TV + holding the tape prevents your condemn meter to go up.

Also, with a Sadako that cannot use TV for chases (15 seconds cooldown will prevent it), she is turned into a basic M1 killer that will need 3 minutes to catch a good looper, 5 minutes if he uses MFT + resilience.

I surely exaggerate the numbers but i'm pretty sure it will be extremely hard for her to perform.

  • Because BHVR has no idea of how to balance the game. Reading the changes notes, it is obvious that they have no idea of what makes a killer good/bad and how the overall game design of the game works.

Bu they are not alone, on this forum there are players with thousands of hours that, by reading the notes, do not understand how Sadako will be unplayable after the changes...

I dunno what is wrong with this community but i think that too many bad players have a loud voice and BHVR chooses to listen to them cause bad to average players are composing 80% of the community and i'm pretty sure they are the one buying tons of skins.

  • Analysis Of An "Impossible" Game - YouTube

Just a video here, he did some mistakes but still, he plays Blight, one of the best player and he is not bad with it and yet he cannot win the game cause he lost 30 seconds overall with his mistakes.

Now take an A tier killer or lower instead and add the MFT + resilience combo, there is no way you can win against this team.

And guess what, when there is 100% bp bonus on the killer side, if you play killer you will be thrown in trials against those teams, over and over again cause the SBMM system will favor queue times over quality for the matchmaking.

Also, a thread on reddit that is less biased than players here that either play low MMR or are just survivor mains saying they have no problem playing killer :

Il est devenu impossible de s'amuser en tant que tueur et ce rôle est devenu une blague. : r/deadbydaylight (reddit.com)

Winning as a tier-A or lower killer is possible only against average survivors. Against trioQ/SWFs, it is nearly impossible now, gens are flying way too fast.

I have yet to lose as killer today. 🤷

Without tunneling of course right ? So much ppl saying ######### here, record 10 games in a row as a killer (not nurse, not spirit, not blight) and show me your high skill :)

  • @Hawk81584 said:

someone else said it best. its defintely a you problem and not an us problem. i think you should evaluate your methods for trying to win

So you mean i'm so bad that i loose all my games in the lowest MMR possible ?

As loosin means lower MMR, i should achieve a point where i win right ?

    @EvilSerje said:

30 seconds chase are indeed too long, unless you're chasing multiple survivors.

Maybe you should play survivor for a change? You know, just to relax. You'll be surprised 😁

Yes of course you all down survivors in less than 30 seconds and you win all your games without camping/tunneling cause you are all so much better than anyone else.

That is the only place on internet where players say the game is balanced and that killer is ok against good survivors 😂

But that is me the problem...

That is why this game will never improve, when i see the comments here and the comments on the next Sadako changes saying it is a buff, i can clearly see you know nothing about this game and you might be terrible players.

If it was true, you would face 100% SWFs :) And you would not win anymore, so stop to lie mate

  • Another insane nerf for killers. After gen regression, MFT + Resilience insane synergie, MFT alone that is extremely busted, now removing hook grabs...

What does it mean ? Camping a hook as the last possible tool for you won't be possible as 2 survivors will kick gens and only one survivor will be enough to unhook the survivor.

Gens will fly even faster now.

Here is a summary of why this next update is terrible for Sadako, for those unable to read through lines.

Dude, I’m sorry, but come on now. If you haven’t won a match in two days, are you playing one game a day? Cause the game is not that imbalanced. It is far from perfect, but this is clearly a skill issue, and I usually hate that term.

It is unabalanced, we clearly do not play at the same skill level if you think the game is ok... The game feels balanced only against average survivors, once you face good ones it is over you cannot win.

And yes, during the evening i'm mostly matched against swfs, believe or not.

  • @DavidHypnos said:

So…. improve your game? Are you ending every game with 0 kills? Obviously, this isn’t happening to everyone all the time so what specifically are you struggling with? Focus on that.

It is not happening to players that tunnel, play without tunneling and you will loose 90% of your trials.

  • @Kius said:

It will be a never ending circle.

Every single time they try to nerf survivors in a way the good ol' "but can anyone think about the poor solo survivors?" card pops up..

Now people on one side keep demanding more nerfs to the other side because their own teammates DC or they give up on the hook.

More buffs wont change the mentality of some players. It's insane to think that more buffs and information to one side will change certain players MENTALITY in every game.

Apparently for now the game needs human killer players. But I don't discard the option that at some point BHVR could totally release a bot as killer and 4 human survivors.

Survivor mains are acting as if soloQ is not as strong as a SWF and that it is a problem 😂

If the 4 soloQ have a good game sense, they can perform pretty much equally to a good SWF (not the best one that will get all infos though).

Survivors using the soloQ card are just bad survivors refusing to admit they are bad at the game...

Playing killer at a good MMR in the evening is a terrible experience, i face extremely good survivors that are not great at looping (sometimes they are but not always) but great at doing gens.

Games are impossible to win unless i tunnel.

And if i face a SWF, forget it, the trial is unwinnable.

Just faced one and one guy told me he won't play the game anymore as it is extremely unfair to killers : I was playing singularity, all gens were done in 3 chases... forget it, killers will leave massively and queue times as surv will skyrocket.

No way killers will continue to play with such a state

Not a fan of the changes tbh.

The condemnation mechanic gets completely handed over to the control of survivors. As long as they run around with a tape, they are immune to the build up (unless they get a direct hit). So the overall build up will be much, much slower. But at least everyone will run around with a tape...

Chases are one of the biggest issues of sadako and the thanges don´t improve on that. Sure, being immune to pallet stuns is neat, but she always struggled from getting hits during a loop. Not being able to build up bloodlust while phased won´t help with that at all.

They won't run with a tape...

Disabling a TV = removing the Sadako's power

Everyone will use the tape to remove Sadako's power.
