I largely agree with Scott's points here. A mechanical solution to tunneling is bound to create more problems than it solves. And tunneling does create a false feedback loop for killers who rely on it. Killer is nowhere near difficult enough to warrant hard tunneling every game, unless I happen to exist on the same magical server that Scott does.
My opinion: tunneling is a matchmaking issue at its core. It's risky in a well-made match. You stand to lose 4 gens minimum tunneling players of equal skill, especially at a high level. The problem is that this game rarely makes a balanced match. There are almost always 1 or 2 extremely weak links relative to the killer. They'll go down 3 times in the span of 1 or 2 gens. Barring tile RNG, that's a matchmaking issue, not a tunneling mechanic issue. They're not having good chases or their teammates are doing nothing, which again points to matchmaking.
He goes on to talk about overly sweaty playstyles in public matches. I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but again, I feel like it's a matchmaking issue. I retired from comp over a year ago but I would love to play against those 4 man comp squads instead of sleepwalking through usual matches. But I get rounded down to the soft cap, the comp squad is rounded down to the soft cap, and we both get relative babies in our games. This isn't to say I sweat like it's a tourney in pubs, but there's zero reason to even make some of these matches. What enjoyment is a 500 hr survivor going to have against a 4k hr comp player, and vice versa? They don't want anyone to wait for a game, and the quality of matches suffers a lot.
I don't think the sweat will ever really go away. That doesn't seem realistic with a playerbase of this scale. It can be managed a bit through matchmaking or some quasi-rank system where SR was added and also used. But a lot of people just like winning and they don't care how.
(As an aside: scrims absolutely suck to set up. A lot of times it takes 20+ minutes to work through the language barrier and get the lobby to actually load everyone in. And then the survivors immediately quit because they're shocked about 220+ ping even though you clearly said you were NA and they're RU)
you enjoy matches where 3 gens pop in a single chase despite you did well? you enjoy being forced to tunnel in order to get a kill so more pressure on survivors? you enjoy the constant spam of broken stuff and meta perks every game? you enjoy playing only 2 killers in the entire roster in order to keep up the pace with the survivor's effectiviness? REALLY?

Picture me: a high MMR Blight just trying to have fun. I have a meme build on with no perks and some bad addons, I'm just trying to chill. I get a lobby of p0-5s with no items. I think to myself "Alright, this should be fun enough". Last second 4 man swap to flashlights p100 survivors. Cranking out gens and teabagging at every chance. I get a 1k, still without tunneling or camping anyone out, and I get mass teabags at the exit gate, then post-chat toxic BM, and "ggez" comments left on my Steam profile. Fast forward 5 games in a row of this happening, I switch to my semi-sweaty Blight setup and I play very sweaty. Fast forward 5 more games, all 4k. All of which, people complain about being tunneled, complain about being slugged, complain about being proxy camped when hooked in basement in a 3-gen, complain about sweating, complain about xyz. Also lots of post-chat toxic BM and comments left on my Steam profile, but at least I feel better.
PSA to all the toxic survivor mains out there. If you're sick of dealing with people playing every game like they're playing for millions, stop being toxic to the few that are actually trying to have some fun in this god-forsaken game.
not gonna happen, their fun is the only thing that matter in their eyes... same thing happened to me yesterday but with a weaker killer: used dredge for a daily with a meme build and really bad addons, didn't camped nor tunneled, 0k with only 3 hooks and tbagged in the end... after that match i used one of my mains (still with bad addons cause i don't need those in order to make them suffer) for make possible toxic brats crying for good... all 4k with at least 1 dc in every game and a lot of salt in the end (a guy wished me cancer and kept harassing me in my comment section on steam, just saying).. on that point this game is a LOST cause.

Do you know what that would do to queue times? For everyone? With the current loss of players, that idea would indeed kill off this game.
And custom has no progression or BP or anything. It is what it is meant to be, practice grounds.
1st of all you can't be sure of the outcome: it could kill or it could be a healthy decision since solo would be buffed properly without SWF (i'm more for the 2nd choice). i know that this will never happen, don't worry, it was just in a eventual case of a proper balanced game (which dbd isn't obviously). i know that custom won't give you any kind of progress, but that's the point: if you wanna play with your friends, custom matches have all the perks unlocked by default in order to make funny build/try new stuff/messing around... regular queue shouldn't have SWF implemented cause it's a gamebreaking feature (too many advantages from it). this game isn't supposed to be played with VC (perks like emphaty, kindred, dark sense, small game, etc etc are a valid example)

regarding addons the best ones are Fizz-Spin Soda paired with Ji-Woon's Autograph or Caged Heart Shoes (or if you want try something more peculiar Edge of Revival Album paired with Cut Thru U Single)

I absolutely despise the killer but I want the achievement so I can put him away and never play him again.
However I am finding his power very lacklustre and with nothing to slow gens I am really struggling to complete this adept.
Any suggestions on how to do this please?!
think that i did his achievement when he was still bugged, right after his release (his power didn't counted as hit in the brutality category, so i was FORCED to use a m1 killer at 4,4 speed without power, not to mention that he was so slow when using his knifes that even in the case i used his knifes to get downs it was literally impossible if they were looping in jungle gyms, places with objects/walls around or the killer shack)... now it's a lot more manageable than before (mind you, it still sucks due to the low ms and no gen regression perks, but now at least you can catch someone if they aren't tryharding)... i suggest you to tunnel someone out asap, then prioritize targets who are out of position (safe zones are too much timewasting to even think about doing chases in those parts of the map)

This is more of a story than anything. I hope you read it and think about it when u play DBD again.
Today I had a pretty stressful game. I was playing Executioner with very light slowdown on Lery's. This is, in my opinion, his worst map. It's awkward to move around with many tight corners, limited visibility with unconventional loops. That means it's really hard to predict survivors movements which is key to playing him well. The cherry on top is that many gens and hooks spawn close to windows or choke points, so it was very hard to lay any good trails without half of them disappearing. So I went in with only Corrupt and Dead Lock for delay. Should be enough, right? Nope. I had a strong start, but that didn't matter about mid game.
I pretty much lost the game to a mixture of W key gameplay and infinite COH heals. I chase too far away from my gens, I let them get done for free. I get a hit and they book it to the other side. I chase them, I lose. I hit them, they heal in seconds while the rest of the team comes back and forth on gens. I didn't play perfect, but in terms of actual loop chases I was pretty fast with downs. But, yet again, they didn't have to loop me. There was a 3 man swf of Feng's. They would sit barely outside of gen patrol and emote. Running away when they heard me get close, then watch me leave as one of them would target a different gen.
So this upset me a lot. I felt like I was losing more to a perk and rng than actual player skill. That feeling is the only thing that really upsets me in DBD.
Near the end I was chasing a Vittorio who was death hook and tormented. He pre-dropped every pallet and I barely missed him around many loops. I started to choke and got even more frustrated. He made it to the exit and I ended up just leaving him and cleaning up pallets for points.
I was mad at him at first. It felt like a cheap escape in my eyes. Obviously now with a clear head it was a smart thing of him to do. I bring him up, though, because he actually cheered me up after it. He told me I did really good and wished me luck on my next game. I vented a bit on how I felt like I lost because COH made applying any meaningful pressure impossible. He agreed with me. Just overall a really nice dude. He has a twitch but I don't remember his name, so if he does read this you're awesome.
I've never once had this kind of experience before with any survivor. Not to this degree at least. I was expecting a taunt or cheeky remark.
Basically, if you see someone having a bad game just try to cheer them up a little. Not everyone is appreciative of this, I know it from experience. Some people just want to be mad. Still, this kind of behavior is what will stop toxicity. Toxicity in this game comes from trolls and frustrated players. If we support each other, the trolls have less power and therefore less frustration.
i've a solution for everything... BUBBA

The level of dodging that suggestion would create would be insane. No killers, including me, would ever knowingly go against SWF groups no matter the incentive.
Those groups simply would never ever get matches.
more than deserved imo... SWF should be available only in custom matches

I am always surprised that some people are extremely critical of SWFs🤔
Basically, "SWF" is just "having fun with your friends" ... how is having fun with your friends wrong? 🤔
People will tell me: "SWFs are much stronger and/or have an advantage over SoloQs".
Well, in that case, give SoloQs additional ways to get information, in the form of graphical elements included in the HUD 😉
And in this way it will be possible to buff (more or less, depending on the case) some of the weaker killers 😊
And don't forget that SWF =/= power.
If you put in voice 4 people, with the best perks / items / addons / offerings, on Ormond / Garden of Joy ... if they have the level of mastery of a potato ... in voice or not, they will not go far 🤣
And even in teams of 4 that play vocal, it is quite common to find 1 or 2 weak links, which are easier to fall, if necessary 😉
read what i wrote before in this thread and you'll understand WHY swf shouldn't be allowed in pub matches but only in custom matches...

That's not really how it works, sorry. SWF is not a chest code nor an exploit, it's not the auto-ein you make it sound like either. With enough changes to the game, solo Q can at least become pretty close to SWF in power level. That is the real solution. Then you can see killer get buffed accordingly, and SWF won't be an issue anymore, killer will be equipped to deal with them.
Removing SWF would be one of the stupidest possible things they could do, and there's a 0% chance they'll ever do it. It doesn't even matter if it would be "healthy" for the game, they simply aren't going to.
You're right, the things you mentioned AREN'T undeniable. That's why I'm denying them.
Solo and SWF can be brought to a very similar power level at the very least. The game shouldn't crucify you for wanting to play it with a friend, and if you're that salty about getting 0ks that you think otherwise, I feel bad for you.
lol it is imo, the only reason why this is considered a normal thing is because devs gain money from it (otherwise perks like kindred, alert, spine chill, premonition, etc etc wouldn't exist in the 1st place). i never said that being in a SWF is an autowin but surely it will improve/boost your chances of survive, don't put words that i never used in my mounth, thanks.
i know that swf will never be removed (sadly), i said those things in a ideal scenario, in order to improve the experience of the playerbase overall speaking.
You are denying what i said because you are biased, only SWF players will defend in that way this "feature", while solo players such myself would be happy to see it gone in pub matches

This game is based about unfunny mechanics talking about optimal gameplay... from both sides i might add: wanna be more efficient as possible as killer? Kill the 1st survivor asap at all costs. Wanna play efficiently as survivor? Rush gens. The only difference between those 2 tactics is that tunneling and camping require skill, especially now that the basekit BT was added (you need to catch them again with another chase after all, not to mention that you must deal also with eventual boons/bodyblocks and other nasty stuff, while doing gens efficiently require only to stay on a gen and press the space bar which can be further increased by certain perks and items). Whoever tell you that tunneling is for skilless people is just salty about it... The main problem about playing in a optimal way for both sides lies in the fun (and efficiency) of it: both are boring/annoying but effective.
-
that combo isn't even so strong as you can think honestly... remember that you NEED to kick a gen 1st (time that most of the times you don't have), then downing a survivor in order to use those 2 perks... i don't know about your matches, but overall speaking keeping busy a killer is easy nowdays (unless it's a competent nurse) thanks to the maps extremely unbalanced (garden of joy is a valid example: has a HUGE amount of safe pallets near each other, not to mention the killer shack, various jungle gyms and especially the main building which is an actual infinite). i'm not a fan of meta stuff (i always play with brown addons as killer for example and usually without items as survivor), but i understand that most of the times you are literally FORCED to use it if you want avoid a crushing defeat, even if you do extremely well. I can do a valid exaple with the match that i did with the knight yesterday: started a match with a relative chill build (i had surge and scourge hooks as slowdown perks, alongside with plaything in order to spice up a bit the things and going for mixed hooks), but despite in the beginning i downed 2 of them in less than 40 seconds (a guy tried to do a pallet save for 2 times, the 1st time was hitted by one of my guards when i faked the pick up of his companion, the second while i was actually picking up the downed guy... greedyness can be fatal), a gen already popped... after leaving the hook and chasing another guy, the others were already healed and did another gen... I was still chilling because despite 2 gens already done, i had already do 2/3 hooks, which is normal if survivors know what to do (aka doing gens instead of wasting time) and if you don't prioritize to eliminate one of them asap, but after seeing people bodyblocking on purpose with the extended BT active despite i was aiming for the unhooker and 2 other gens done in a blink of an eye, i started to prioritize kills over hooks (meaning that i resorted to tunneling and proxy camping, especially the latter). i had obtained more doing this than playing normally (5 hooks in less than 2 minutes, only a single guy on the gen in the end and the survivors that were wasting time healing in order to do the save). Despite all this they finished the gens and in the end i killed 3 of them (wasn't easy at all despite they were average at looping due to the amount of safe zones that they had) and the "tunneled" guy in the end that was the only one who escaped. in that case i used the meta of tunnel and camp because they forced me to do so despite i had a build specifically made for doing mixed hooks (if those guys knew how to loop it would have been a gg ez for them due to the map, low tier killer that i was using and my perks that weren't optimal for that type of gameplay)

What's your opinion on bleeding survivors to death without hooking at all?
On EU servers there are some killers deliberately do this for 'fun'. Yesterday I played against a nurse and at the end there were only me and a Mikaela left in game. The nurse downed Mikaela, slugged them while chased and downed me, which was understandable. But 2 minutes in while i was on the floor, Mikaela was bled to death. The nurse continued to stand next to my character to bleed me out, and only picked up last second for hook points. So yes, there were hooks around me, the nurse just chose to bleed me for 3.9 minutes for 'fun'.
While slugging could be a strategy to win the game, I think in the above case is unnecessary slugging. Standing over another player's character to bleed them out is a form of toxicity, trolling, griefing, or refusing to participate in normal gameplay (whatever you want to call it).
Sadly this nurse i played against repeatedly do this to many survivors. DBD devs say they don't tolerate toxicity in the community. I'd like to see if they would do anything to prevent these trolls to ruin others' experience.
What's your thoughts and experiences? Do you think unbreakable base kit could solve this problem?
you see, there's a HUGE difference between the forum and the actual game chat/gameplay... here BHVR will try to be more concerned as possible regarding toxicity (
despite don't giving a *EHM EHM* about it cause you know, they have a "reputation" to defend), but in game all is permitted... you'll laugh at how many reports i did for death threats, racial slurs, racisms and other nasty stuff and noone of those was even remotely calculated by them... now, regarding the anedocte that you told us... yes, that was extremely scummy since she has no reasons to not hook you in the end, but it's allowed unfortunately cause the game will end (there aren't situations where you are hold hostage in that case) -

I mean yeah, VC wouldn't bump solo q up to the same level as swf. But it'd certainly help make solo q a little more tolerable. And yeah you get bully SWFs but I find they are quite rare. No need to totally remove swf totally just because of a few obnoxious players. It would harm the game far more than help it.
eh... maybe yes , maybe not, it all depends from the players that you have in your team (imagine 3 little brats who keep raging and shouting all the time in VC... painful and a nightmare to say the least imo... sure, there should be also an option to silence VC, but then you'll be stuck in the previous situation where VC wasn't implemented in the game). SWF that want bully the killer aren't so rare as you can think, at least in my personal case they are not... 7 of 10 matches i've people that try to be more annoying/toxic as possible (if they succeded or fail to do so are another story tho).

regular matches are the only actual real matches, making something "only allowed in customs" is erasing it from the game.
no it's not... it's still present in the game, but it can't be abused anymore like before (things like the new moon bouquet and other retired offerings are essentially removed from the game because they aren't available even in custom for example)... wanna play with friends? that's fine, no problems, but you'll play with a killer that is also your friend, period. As i stated above (both at you and to another guy that disliked my thought about SWF) i told the reasons of my statement, MORE THAN VALID POINTS i might add... you are free to think otherwise, but the facts that i've mentioned aren't undeniable: solo and SWF won't EVER BE TO THE SAME POWER LEVEL, hence why SWF should be a feature present only in custom matches

Struggle to see what point you are making here. Removing SWF would probably kill the game because people like to play with their friends.
And it's kind of to do with the nature of the game. Playing surv has a high skill ceiling, best way to fix it imo is VC for solo q so people can co ordinate a little better and newer players won't jump in locker every time they hear a hint of a terror radius.
My point is that even in the case that you give VC for solo survivor, this won't be sufficient to balance things because the main difference between solo and swf aside being able to speak to each other on vocal is that they can choose their companions (swf can be composed of 4 equal skilled loopers, while randoms won't be at the same level because they aren't organized, not to mention that people have different goals in the match: dailies and tome challenges will also impact those choices) and choose both perks that synergize well with each other and items, perks and maps while solo can't (for doing a stupid example imagine a SWF who want to troll, making the match of a killer more suffering as possible and put 2 purple oak offerings, the offering that will force the spawn of the basement in the killer shack and the map offering for badham... Everyone with a anti slugging build and purple toolboxes for Sabo hooks in the absurd case that the killer find even a single hook around the school and you get an idea between the difference from randoms and swf and why they should be RELEGATED in custom matches)

of course that would never happen, that would be incredibly stupid of them to basically remove SWF from the game. the population would take a huge hit, and sure, I guess that would fix Nurse since nobody would be there to play against her
the real actual solution is giving solo Q information that's roughly on par with SWF so they can buff killers to compete against this new survivor power level
even in that case the power of solo survivor will never match the one that SWF have for a couple of simple reasons:
1 you can't organize well your team since each one will take whatever they want (going from perks, offering, items to tome challenges and dailies. Essentially each one will have a personal goal to accomplish no matter what while in a swf the entire team can set up their goals, from rushing gens to do some particular challenges or just memeing/trolling around)
2 you don't know how the others play: in a swf everyone already know what to do, not to mention that you can actually made an entire group of expert loopers, while randoms even with voice chat won't have this privilege (people that aren't even able to run simple tiles and that literally will stuck themself into objects once hitted the 1st time for example)
i never said that SWF should be erased from the game, but it shouldn't be allowed to exist in regular/pub matches, only in customs, or at least not without having some limitations like the ones present in the tournaments (you can't pick up map offerings, you can't pick up the same character with the same skin, you can't take the same perks, etc etc). btw you think that the playerbase will be hitted hard if they would limit swf uh? well, that's your opinion/theory, not a fact. Unless this will actually happen, we will never know if you could have right or not... regarding the nurse she need to be reworked for sure, but actually there are things more concerning to be looked at imo.

For good reason. Stopping SWFs playing natchmaking games and earning BP would tank the player count. Because ######### playing solo q, all the killer nerfs in the world won't help me if my surv teammates have the brainpower of a bucket of wallpaper paste.
honestly i doubt it at this point... i would make gladly this sacrifice if it would gave me a game more fun and fair... if your mates have the intelligence of a dead ant then it's not a killer's problem, nor a balance problem, but only a BASIC skill issue of your companions: would you nerf a killer like trapper for example if he keep 4k because the people in your team aren't even able to run in a straight line and/or throw down pallets after being hitted the 1st time, hiding all the time instead of doing gens and/or leaving you to die on the hook despite the killer being in the opposite side of map? Come on, this happen too much in solo q, but not because of the killer, nor the actual balance of the game, the problem lies elsewhere...
-
Nothing will happen sadly. Even i yesterday on 4 matches played, 2 were with blatant cheaters and another one with extremely souspitious people (despite i had deadlock they ended all the gens in 3 minutes, without perks and toolboxes specifically made for rushing gens). This is becoming tiresome honestly and i'm tired of being constantly mocked by those kind of SCUM (i don't care if i will be censored for this, i'm just calling out people for what they truly are since they are denying my right of playing the game... a game that i PAYED). funny fact: you know how i forced the cheater to coming out in that match? Bubba facecamp with lightborn (and guess what, private profile from epic games store): i had already some suspects in the lobby/beginning of the match so when i hooked the 1st survivor instead of patrolling as usual i decided to camp and see if something weird could happen (i saw too many times those kind of situations to know how this would be ended), 20 seconds later that guy tried to instablind me with a flashlight when he wasn't even near my position (and this is why i took lightborn in the lobby: that perk allowed me to see the aura of that idiot, who was literally sliding toward my position when he was at the edge of the map) and save his friend (i said friend cause he defended the cheater in the endgame chat all the time despite the evidence)... if there could be still some rooms for eventual absurd bugs, all become even more clear when he teleported away while he was doing the save (he wasn't aware that i could still see him due to my immunity of being blinded probably)
-
That map is awful to say the least: a lot of pallets scattered around the map, VERY CLOSE to each other, plus good jungle gyms, the killer shack (actually with a bug that will spawn a rock just after the window, making it even safer) and the central building which is AN ACTUAL Infinite and you'll get the idea of the bs level of that map

You don't have to in public matches, this is just making excuses for playing badly/being outplayed and sometimes just getting plain rotten RNG that puts the match in survivors favour.
Unless you catch a survivor out-positioned, get lucky or play Nurse or Blight well, you will lose 2 gens pretty quickly and I don't panic if I have only 3 gens left before I get my first hook. Once you get the first hook you now have pressure and momentum and how you use that determines whether you win or lose. Also know when to drop chase, if your first chase does not result in a down after 30 seconds, change targets immediately.
Camping is just plain stupid and tunnelling off hook is just plain scummy and I guarantee we will see more heavy punishments baked into the core game in the new year as its really hurting the game at this point.
If you feel you need to camp and tunnel off hook (in public matches) you have a losers mentality, it is the same as running NOED - you only run NOED if you are expecting you will lose all gens otherwise why would you run it? That is not a personal insult to anyone either but expecting failure and playing your match as if you expect to fail is a losing attitude
if survivors keep running around the hook trying to save their mate who is almost on 2nd hook state instead of doing gens, how is camping a looser mentality (2/3 people that aren't on gens and you have also the possibility to dispose of a survivor, making the game a lot more manageable)? if a survivor with bt will bodyblock instead of fleeing how it's a looser mentality going for that guy (same example as before: less survivors working on gens=easier to manage the match)? Seems more than you have some butthurt regarding those tactics (which mind you, can be understandable, but it's not a reason to deny the effectiviness of those tactics)... it's like genrushing in a certain sense: both sides will rush their goals in order to win. Is that fun? Not at all, but it's effective, that's the point

If you play against expert Survivors, sure, you need every advantage because they'll also play to their absolute best.
The simple fact of the matter is that most Survivors aren't good. If mediocre Survivors give you trouble, that's not necessarily on DBD, that might be on you. Obviously, yes, some maps aren't fair for you. Other maps aren't fair for Survivors. That's how it goes.
You don't need to be in four places at once as Killer. If you try to be, you'll lose. You aren't supposed to win at 5 gens. You need strategy and I think many Killers tend to forget that.
i highly doubt it tbh... skill aside, in certain maps even bad survivors can keep you easily busy without troubles (why learning to loop when you can literally press w shift and throwing down every pallet in the map and obtain the same effect after all?), skill isn't involved much in order to win as survivor (ESPECIALLY if you aren't play killers with some form of antiloop). You can try to "apply" pressure by constantly chasing, injuring and downing people, but if they still smash gens, you don't have chances unless you play in a certain way. I consider myself enough impartial despite being a killer main (this didn't stopped me to play survivor tho) and i see where things aren't fine at all... the problems of this game primarily lies on the mechanics that will gave an edge over your opponent (tunneling/camping for killers, genrushing bodyblocking for survivors), but on a point i think that we both can agree on it: those tactics will never be fixed properly because they choosed to kept those as basic mechanics
-

Hmmm, no.
The simple reality is that you DON'T need to tunnel in order to win the vast majority of your matches. It's simply easier to tunnel than it is to not tunnel. I get it, I do it too. That's one of the main reasons I push so hard against tunneling is because of how effective it is for me.
this is pure bs and every expert player will tell you otherwise... in order to win YOU HAVE TO TUNNEL AND CAMP, otherwise you'll struggle even with mediocre survivors that are still able to press m1 on gens. It's pure and simple logic: you can't be in 4 places at once as killer, and while you are chasing/searching for a survivor, the others have all the time needed to work on generators, meaning that 1simple chase can cost you easily 3 gen without even doing mistakes (add also perks, maps like garden of joy with the infinite present in the central building or the huge quantity of safe pallets present in the game for example and you'll have the general picture of dbd right now)

you see, if you find a certain type of playstyle "boring" or unfun doesn't mean that this kind of gameplay should be nerfed/modified... what you can find fun someone else could found it boring and vise versa... honestly i found irritating a lot of the behaviors present in the game, but it is what it is. You have 2 choices left: leave the game or adapt and play accordingly because things won't change

Ive had it with nurses. i play with one friend everyday and every time we play she either instantly finds us and slug us or we have a team mate that DC on down or when they notice we are up against a nurse. WE NEED AN UPDATE ON HER
nurse abilities mechanics are OUTDATED and needs a whole rework. matches are ending within 5 mintues and thats pretty unfair
PLEASE BHVR REWORK NURSE
before reworking the nurse they should relegate SWF in custom matches, then balance the game around normal killers, in that way you can safely rework the nurse, putting her on line with the rest of the roster... but we both know that this will never happen so...

Half of what people say is entitlement is not.
Example, I made a post earlier expressing my frustrations about how killers have been jerks to me all day. I was trying to do the Outbreak Breakout achievement, I changed my name toe Read My Bio and explained what I was trying to do. Killers would read the bio, and then proceed to tunnel and camp me out. They knew I was going for an achievement, and they decided to be rude. Now, they dont have to help me thats not the issue. The issue is that they deliberately went out of their way to make it harder on me. I made a post about it and some one said I was entitled. I dont see how expressing my frustration is entitlement.
And I am sick and tired of this community attacking one another for their opinions and beliefs. Never have I seen a community so divided. Its time some one stands up for those simply just expressing their opinions and frustration.
Tunneling is not cool. Yes, a strategy, that doesnt mean its fun or right. Camping is boring. I mean just imagine sitting on a hook for two minutes. Everyone says all the time the most fun part of the game is the chases between killer and survivor, how are you gonna get chases if your being camped? Everyone wants to say that if you DC then you ruin the fun for everyone else, yet will sit here and defend camping and tunneling. How is that fun? One survivor sits on hook while the other 3 do gens, if they are smart. Everyone says that doing gens are boring. Just because some one DCs because they dont want to go against a camping tunneling killer, does not make them entitled. They have every right to have fun as anyone else and if they dont like something, they dont have to go through it.
"Oh, but when you DC you ruin it for everyone else." OK, so I am supposed to ruin my experience at the expense of your experience? How is that fair? If people want to camp and tunnel, thats fine, thats their choice. If people want to DC and go next, that is also their choice.
And just because you got lucky with map RNG and ran to a pallet and pre threw it a hundred times doesnt mean youre good. No one loops anymore, they just hold w to the next pallet. To no fault of their own, look at the new maps that keep coming out they were designed that way.
Its time for us as a community to stop invalidating the experiences and feelings of others. Let them be mad upset happy angry whatever. Because we as a community dont care about the choices that people make in game, and we will defend those choices, but we sure as hell care when they express their feelings.
And its not right. "Its just a game" Yeah maybe to some people it is. But to others its not. I lost my mother to COVID last year and this game is the only thing that helped me through because it was my escape from life. It was and is more than a game to me. And I reserve the right to express my feelings and opinions on it if I so choose to.
And I know that people are going to comment saying that no one is stopping you from expressing your feelings, well maybe not you but as a community you are. I myself and my friends do not feel safe expressing that we dont like the way some one played for fear of the division it creates. Just because we didnt like the way they played, doesnt make us entitled. We just didnt like how they played. It shouldnt be this way for something thats "just a game." And yes, there are some entitled people out there that are entitled, most people are just tired of not being able to express their opinion.
well, as far as i know one thing is to complain about a certain gamestyle (mind you, you are free to do it, but don't expect emphaty in any kind of way since the playerbase is mostly made of entitled and toxic brats and also you can't tell to other people how they are supposed to play), another one personally attacking someone for that kind of gameplay (which if you play killer you'll see this always happen on a daily basis no matter what) that will finish to make angry people who in exchange will make the game more miserable as possible for the other side. This is dbd and it won't change how it works sadly, so you have 3 possible outcomes:
1 leave the game and find something else to play (you will be surprised how much relieved you will be with this choice)
2 accept it for what it is and keep playing how you wish to play (even then, you'll probably get tired of it much quicker because the game won't seems fair in your eyes as you just stated)
3 adapt and play without pity or any kind of remorse, being more efficient as you can without thinking of the fun that the others can have (aka camping, slugging and tunneling for killers and genrushing, bodyblocking and abusing extremely safe zones for survivors)
as for me i did all the above in this order: in the beginning i took a long break for it since i was upset for the direction (and the toxicity) that the game was taking, then i thinked that i paid for that game and i deserved to enjoy it no matter what so i accepted how the game worked, but seeing people mocking you in every match cause you played "fair" pissed me off in the long run so now i'll play more efficient as possible in order to win since this is what people in my matches are asking for. Sure, i'll still do some matches memeing around (yesterday i trolled with a snowman all the time without even hooking or hitting anyone on purpose, in the end survivors started to memeing with me), but most of the time i'll be pityless without any hint of remorse.
i'm sorry for your loss mate, but dbd isn't exactly the kind of game where you can enjoy and chill without having a certain mindset. for this the feature "kill your friends" is made on purpose to chill imo.

Everyone loves billy players. But I disagree he has too much counterplay, too many loops he can't play the game at. Blight without his top add-ons is the most skillful killer for both sides by far, there is many many different things a survivor player can do to deal with a blight. On the other hand billy is only b tier because the survivors have so much power over his ability especially depending on the map. When someone abuses collision vs Billy there is really nothing he can do, when someone abuses collision vs blight it's actually skillful and something I see so rarely it's impressive. 95% of survivors have barely scratched the surface on how to play vs blight or even what he does because he has that much depth, compare that to Billy who is only hard because of how mechanically challenging his curves are and is pretty easy to deal with. Pretty much anything Billy can do Blight can do better, anything bad for Billy isn't as bad for blight. But Blight has many more counter play options that are harder to pull off. You know how many times I have been intentionally pluto'd as blight? Maybe 5 times, when there are countless pluto spots and shack everyone should know. It's just survivor's don't care to learn blight and all is mastery in order to deal with him.
Billy is great and by far the most mechanically hard killer in the game but his kit is outdated and abusable.

I forget what it's called but back to back games now, I spawn by myself, my teammates are together, and the killer is RIGHT next to me, I have to start the game off with a chase in a location that has no pallets. Now I know this is MMR/SBMM based, it determines which player is best and puts him by itself, let's just admit that this silly nonsense is part of the garbage MMR this game employs.
Nerfing the prk:
- Reduce the seconds to tops 5 seconds, not 9 seconds.
- the killer has to spawn automatcially on the opposite side of the map, not in the middle, not next to a survivor, none of that.
- all survivors should automatically spawn together and there needs to be a notification that shows this perk activates at he start of the game, similar to how the exposed status gives us a notification.
- For the next 10 minutes of the game, the killer cannot see the aura of anyone else no matter what perk or add on they employ.
Some combination of the above will do, this game is not enjoyable for good players with high mmr, we don't want to spawn next to the Got damn killer every single game, it's not enjoyable, I quit those games automatically.
NERF. THE. PERK. No more 9 seconds, no more starting the game with a chase due to the killer being just right next to me off spawn, none of that nonsense. It's funny, when I play killer, I spawn alllllllllll the way on the other side of the map, I never ever everever ever ever get spawned right next to a ######### survivor Behavior. It's horse #########, inconsistent garbage.
Let's also nerf the knight perk that lets killers see the aura of all people near the damaged gen, as well as the masterminds add on "helicopter stick" that lets the killer see the aura of everyone who uses a spray for 8 seconds. Anyone using these add ons needs to spawn far far far away from the survivors, let's just be honest, like, at least make it somewhat competitive, don't give killers a participation trophy win.
your problems about that perk (which are hilarious tbh since the only killers that can gain some utility regarding that perk are the ones with mobility) have a simple solution: take DISTORTION. ez counter, ez win for you.

"A killer should definitely view a game where the survivor gets the hatch as a win. To me a better questions is whether you prevent the survivors from finishing the gens or not."
Yeah, this is my stance as well.
I dont care if a Survivor escapes via Hatch, they did not win. They got lucky that they found it first and that I did not slug for the 4K (which I very rarely do). They did not complete all Gens, so I won.
I also dont really feel that I really won when I get a 4K with all Gens done or even Gates open. Like, if I camp in Endgame and they all die because they try to save this one person, this is not really a win because I played well, it is a 4K because they played badly.
last sentence is another common thing that happen a lot of times, especially if you force yourself to play chill (another reason why i think that the game shouldn't be balanced around kills btw)

@daniel_owenz said:
For me, if I kill more than 50% of the survivors, it's a win for me, even if one escapes. If three survivors escape (or more) then I count it as a loss. If only two escape, I call it a draw.
If they pick a map specifically then I will count it as my win and not a draw.
If one survivor escapes, it's my win and their win as well, while his/her teammates lose.
I think this mentality helps me enjoy playing killer more, that way I don't care if one gets away through a hatch or something.
if i'm aganist toxic brats no matter what, everything below 2k is a total defeat in my book (unless i'm trolling on purpose with a good facemp bubba, in that case i'm here only for trigger toxic people on purpose)... I'll make them pay for their behavior by playing for the kills and not for the hooks/chases (still i had matches where i played fair since there were the premises for a chill match and in the endchat i instantly regretted it because they'll start trashtalking and accusing you for things THAT YOU NEVER DID IN THE FIRST PLACE). This scenario is more common than you think
-
1 rework maps (actually most of them are too much safe)
2 nerfs/buffs items, addons and perks in order to balance better the game overall (perks should give SLIGHTLY buffs, not being so strong to completely change the outcomes of the match... this will include also the killer's powers such as traps for trapper, too weak for being troublesome, and nurse's blinks, too strong because it will ignore every kind of defense that survivors have for example)
3 ANTICHEAT THAT WILL WORK and punishing toxicity
after doing those things you'll have a better game, even if bugs will still be present...

@GrimReaperJr1232 said:
It's been some time since the nerf. I think we've all formed our opinions on it by now.
Personally, I still despise the perk. Is it better than before? Yes, but the Current Nurse is better than Release Nurse with 7 blinks. That doesn't mean it's okay.
The most obvious annoyance would be the uncounterable DH into a pallet. Hit them? You lose. Don't hit them? You lose. But let's ignore that for a moment. Let's delve into the most common counterargument.
"Just bait it out!"
Okay. Tell me how. No, really. Tell. Look at their back? That's not a bait. A bait would be a Billy revving their saw, making you vault the window, only to reveal they barely revved it so they could get an M1 on you. If I'm staring at their back, waiting for them to DH, I am not baiting the perk. I am waiting out the perk.
Am I being overly pedantic? I wouldn't say so. Baiting implies there is some sort of exchange or interaction taking place. If I'm waiting out a DH, I'm just... staring at their back. I would watch paint dry and it'd have the same effect.
Now, there are times when there's actual proper baiting. Wraith tapping M2, Blight bumping next to you instead of swinging at you, and I suppose (generously) Trickster throwing knives AROUND you instead of at you. The rest? Nope. Your M2 is likely countered, you can't lunge since they can react (if the servers work, anyway), and point blank is just... waiting.
It's just an unfun perk to go against... and also pretty annoying to use. Yes, I play survivor. Yeah, I know the feeling of DH-ing and still ending up on the ground because Dedicated Servers said no.
i still HATE that perk with a burning passion unmatched. Only 2 killers in the game can counter that cursed perk without troubles and both are average/bad killers: legion (you can't use dead hard if you have already deep wounded by his frenzy) and deathslinger (like legion, his m2 will cause deep wound, so dead hard won't work). Aside those 2 killers, dead hard could be easily consided buffed: you have less time available to activate the perk, but the outcome will be a sprint burst after being hitted (AGAIN) and effectively a 3rd health state... i'll personally tunnel to death everyone who will use that perk (wanna be a tryharder? I can do the same, but then don't complain if i'll play optimally and i'll completely ignore your personal fun)

I know people often are annoyed when people say to nerf the new killer 'because they don't know how to play against them yet' and while I feel that sometimes rings true, this is b.s.
Throughout all the games I have played against the Knight (maybe a dozen in total) there is not a single killer who exploits the game more than him. Blame it on the community, blame it on the individual killer all you want, but the developers LET this happen, and they're not going to care to fix it.
I've played killer, I've played survivor, I can tell you for a fact it is a killer-oriented game. That's not too big of a problem though, the win rate shouldn't be 50-50 and should be more 20-80 in favour of the killers, I'm not disagreeing. But I have not once won against the knight unless they are giving the game to the survivors once.
The main reason? Not skill. Not because the survivors are bad. The knight's are CONSTANTLY camping/tunnelling/slugging/any other exploit they can get away with. Even twice in the matter of 3 games in one night, the Knight has put someone on the hook, camped and used his green sphere to find others while staying put. Done this to every survivor.
What I hate is that the green sphere with the additional knight has no boundaries. Unless you have a few specific perks, you can't outrun it, you can't pull pallets down, you are 100% going to be hit. And the killer can just repeatedly do this while camping the person on the hook. If anyone goes for this person, they have to look out for the knight and his little buddies he sends. Over and over and over again. I'm not kidding when I say it has exclusively been a knight problem, the exploits are so easy to get away with with him, and that's why it's so abused. It's the least fun I've had playing, where you go on the hook once and you might as well not bother to get anyone on the hook either, because you're dead. Even when I think of how to counter him and this method of play, there's nothing. I'm not going to bother going for players on the hook now when I play against the knight because it is every game. The knight needs a nerf cause I'm not even sure I care to play against him. It'd be different if they played the game properly, but the knight is so clearly the biggest 'toxic and exploiting' killer that he is the easiest go-to of any toxic player, and that's the problem.

Every match you play you aren’t playing a SWF. I’d bet that you don’t face a SWF but every 1-10 matches if not 1-20.
you know, solo survivors sometimes can be even more dangerous that swf mainly because they will focus on gens even more, while swf will usually throw the game just to save one of their own if tunneled/camped... the problem is that people that know how to play if putted together are even more worse that both cases, which mind you doesn't always happen as you said, but when it happen you are at their COMPLETE mercy (only 2/3 killers can be annoying for those people... nurse, blight and bubba... why bubba? he can kill people without the need to chase a 2nd time... aka camp and can be almost unbeateable regarding the possibility to save someone from the hook)

Correct, which I kill the other team to rank up because I noticed their skill is too lower than mine. But I still leave them a match to play before killing. Not straight up get them out of the game in 5min.
But to talk the opposite, many killers can lose some team easily, they dont belong in that high MMR. They're trying too hard for 4K with 4 slowdown , with high tier addon / killer. And wonder why they get far stronger opponents that surpass their skill.
And in the end, they dont have fun after a 4K because it was too hard.
I just expose that too many killers want easy 4K as fun in this game.
in the meantime in another part of the reality...
- be me
- play usually with brown nerfing addons (recently started to stopping use those, but limiting myself to yellow addons due to the sweat present in my matches) and with non meta killers/perks
- found (EXTREMELY TOXIC, both in game and in the endchat) premades full of bs 2nd chances and broken stuff every game (usually genrush builds or perks that will utterly waste your time like adrenaline, sb, otr, ds, dh and coh, followed by items such as commodiuos toolboxes paired with brand new parts, green/purple medkits with improved healing speed/duration/instaheals/portable bt) that will FORCE you to change your mondus operandi regarding your choices (i still play with brown/yellow addons tho) and good intentions
- finishing to play mean everytime to keep up the pace cause it's the only type of gameplay that will avoid a crushing defeat and allow you to do something, make them pay for their arrogance/toxicity/entitlement in the meantime (for instance the things most complained by survivors: slugging, camping and tunneling)
- profit
i will speak for me in this instance: having 4k all the time isn't necessarily funny... i'd rather do a 0/4 but with my fair amount of points/hooks/chases and without toxicity involved rather than 4k most of the times but doing few hooks due to the mechanics that will incentive a boring gameplay and matches full of toxic brats in every matches done. Unfortunately the latter is my actual situation...

it COULD be enjoyable, but the costant toxicity left unpunished, paired with flawed mechanics (to play optimally you must play in an unfun way: rush gens for survivors and tunneling and camping for killers) that will only worsened the situation, developers that actually don't play their game in order to understand the issues and waves of cheaters will make you regret buying this game

Watch that and say that again... Comp spirit vs the best comp team in the world... I don't think you are informed well here buddy...
1st of all not everyone has the time to play all those hours on a game like dbd (and honestly there are better things to do than wasting time on this game but this is another topic...). If you think that those survivors were "good", especially with THOSE PERKS (urban evasion in the 1st match just to do an example lmao) and without using the broken stuff that usually it's present in high mmr (map offerings paired with items like commodious toolboxes with brand new parts, green/purple medkits with styptic agents/anti hemorrage syringe, purple flashlights with iri bulb, etc etc, multiplied for 4 survivors and everyone with the same 2nd chances perks obviously) then i'll give you gladly the ones that i'm usually facing... unless mine are cheaters (very likely since after giving for free dbd on epic those kind of people became MUCH more common to find), they are better by a long shot. Btw thinking that this game could be competitive is ridiculous in the 1st place and as i said, even in the case that spirit can be considered viable, this proves only my point: only 2/3 killers are BARELY viable, everyone else will be bullied badly.
Anyway we are derailling the topic since it's about the knight and his "effectiveness"... he isn't bad as myers, pig or trapper, but he certainly needs some love since his power is extremely easy to counter, it can be dangerous only if he successfully zone you, but even in that case perks will come to resolve this problem for the survivor (you are cornered and you must choose between being spotted and chased by a guard or by the killer itself? Sprint burst, balance landing, lithe and even dead hard will save the day allowing you to escape from both if timed correctly, which is a joke to do),

First of all there is no high mmr, since above the soft cap everybody is considered to be at that, then again when you have a longer queue the range of mmr that gets matched with you increases and after x amount of time you will get a game regardless of how balanced it is to prevent too long queue times...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278610#Comment_3278610
Wesker was very well designed strong killer most people consider to be A tier... Hens did a showcase with him and some of his comp friends and the Wesker did decent , sure not as strong as Nurse, Spirit or Blight but still really good.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278874#Comment_3278874
Not really dude, I like going against Nurse, Blight, Huntress, Wesker for example... But I do not think I should be able to loop a killer for that long unless he is far worse than me...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278879#Comment_3278879
Especially since high mmr doesn't even exist in the way people think it does xD
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3278891#Comment_3278891
First once again there is no high MMR... But then so we actually have something we can work with ... The following picture is a comp tierlist from Knightlight... you can get it from his twitch with !tierlist at https://www.twitch.tv/knightlight He is a comp player currently playing for Team Eternal, the best comp team at the moment:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UVA5CDD16QJA/image.png
According to that I guess we could say that at least A tier is still somewhat viable... And that is comp... Which is completely different from what you imagine high mmr is... Because of that source I would think that this is quite accurate for a comp setting... So Wesker is the 7th best killer in the game... But yeah sure, BHVR does not make killers that are good in "HiGh MmR" anymore...
this is just ridiculous, spirit comp tier? Don't make me laugh, the only killers that are BARELY playable are nurse and blight.

I'm going to just go ahead and drop this real quick for no reason at all:
- His power utilizes three npcs, each with their own speeds, up-times, and skills, but the killer cannot specifically pick the one they want, they have to cycle between whatever's up next, removing any tactical deployment.
- He comes to a full and complete stop when he turns on his power.
- Survivors vanish from his screen as he's using his power.
- Actually drawing out a patrol path takes time and using anything on the fly leaves the guards basically stationary.
- His guards have a delay between when they're deployed, when they appear, when they notice a survivor, and when they actually start moving.
- The survivor can see the spawn-spot where the guard will (eventually) spawn
- Survivors see the radius the guards can detect them at, allowing them to stay 100% safe at all times.
- Survivors move faster than 2 out of 3 of the guards, making it impossible to hit them with the guards unless the survivors run directly into them (despite being able to see where the guards are from a great distance).
- The guards have extremely short uptime AND have a "turn off" button in the form of a banner that can be tapped to instantly dispel the guard.
- If the survivor DOES tap the banner, they gain both Sprint Burst AND Endurance, making them both invulnerable to damage AND lets them get away from any possible repercussions
- The AI on all the guards is exactly as bad as the Nemesis Zombies - a killer released a year and a half ago and STILL not adequately fixed
- If you have one guard deployed, you cannot deploy another guard and there's a delay between when the original guard goes away and when you can deploy the next one. Which kind of makes it COMPLETELY pointless to have three of them and EXTRA absurd that you can't pick which one you're going to deploy.
- His knights make a tremendous amount of noise, broadcasting their presence to all survivors, even if they ignore the visual warnings, and preventing the killer from listening to the survivor noises they need to track.
- The knight can't actually enter his power whenever he wants to, you have to tweak your physical location slightly to be able to enter it, making things even more difficult to do on the fly
don't forget his normal attack that's currently bugged (autoaim will screw you badly, even when you have the survivor in your camera, not to mention that certain times the hit won't even be registered despite you'll see the knight's sword passing throught the hitted survivor)
-
this killer isn't bad like myers, pig or trapper, but surely he isn't strong as people claim... let just say that's a toned down artist:
1 like her he can use his power to scout parts of the map without much efforts (but unlike her he's more limited due to his power's range)
2 like her he can zone survivors (but it's less effective because survivors can see your orb, not to mention that you'll stay idle once you are using your power, while the artist doesn't have that restriction)
3 like her he's heavily countered by simply pressing w shift (see point 2 regarding mobility)
4 bugs make this killer a pain to use properly
5 for some reason his autoaim will make you miss normal hits on survivors (happened more than once, both as killer and survivor pov, that i see the knight's blade passing through without doing damage or even going toward a wall/tree without reason)

If MMR and overall mentality would be focused on "get as many hooks as possible" it would be better for both sides. If Killer is rewarded more for hooking as many people as possible it would be good for everyone.
Killers would focus more towards getting as many hooks and Survivors would have more time to play each game. It would be less frustraiting. Killers wouldn't have to tryhard to get 4K everygame and Survivors would be less tunneled at 5 gens, etc.
Now, I am not saying this would FIX camping, tunneling, gen rush, etc. But it could help to reduce it. However in order to do it the MMR would have to be changed towards each point for unique hooks, etc. Rather than single kills. Also maybe some extra reward for Killers for hooking everyone once, etc.
nothing would change for the simple fact that tunneling and camping will be the best tactics to use even in that scenario: it's always better having 3 survivors to deal with than 4, no matter what... this is a flawed game mechanic that will never change (you should find the way to make those tactics not viable at all, but in the meantime you should also give "viability" to do mixed hooks, same matter for the survivors with the generators). You know why i've a grudge aganist the devs? Because they tried to do this, but only for 1 side (10 seconds to gens is a FAKE QoL change since they also added perks that will DRASTICALLY INCREASE genspeed, even more than before) and they did it poorly by adding perks as basekit instead of resolving the issue in the 1st place

that perk is overrated imo. i rarely use it because most of the times YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE THE TIME TO KICK GENS (and kicking gens is still not worth the time used, unless you have a specific build made for this purpose).

I must give you a bad news... Sky billy was erased from the game some patches ago... They "fixed" him sadly

He sucks. Interesting concept but his actual power is just awful.
It's bad at zoning, it's bad at being used in a chase and it's bad for 3-gens. The ONLY thing it's good at is camping hooks and exploiting bugs.
In my far too early overreaction analysis, I said this, "He's got a very cool concept and his cosmetic design is pretty cool (besides the Sadako hair falling out of his helmet) but his actual power leaves a lot to be desired.
It's entirely possible that a tech will be discovered shortly that will boost his power level but as it stands, he's probably bottom 5, possibly the worst Killer.
His power is just...completely ineffective in chase. You lose distance for even daring to try it AND your guards will never catch a Survivor. You can't even really hold people at loops like Artist can, she maintains control of her body while placing a Bird. The Knight doesn't and has a lengthy channel to place his Guards.
The double whammy is that his power is also really bad at controlling space. The Guards take FAR too long to lock on and give Survivors so much of a head start that they have no hope of catching them. He just makes three gens take longer, but he won't ever win them.
The only thing he actually seems to excel at is hardcore camping, which personally, I didn't think we needed another one of those. His Guards can chase and hit people near the Hook and can effectively deny unhooks. He might be in the Bubba-tier of facecamping."
I stick by pretty much all of that except for one thing. I think he is the worst Killer in the game, at the moment. I think his perks are his sole redeeming factor.
Trapper has good add-ons and is actually really effective at maintaining a 3-gen lockdown. Freddy has some sort of anti-loop that is actually meaningful. Sadako has one absolutely monstrous playstyle powered by great add-ons. Myers has great add-ons and some lethality. Knight has garbage add-ons, no lethality and no chase power. He needs major adjustments that, judging from Sadako, he will not be getting for at least 6 months.
it's not a surprise that this killer is weak af... even with a full totem build this killer is average (and i'm being generous here). The only thing that feel good about him is when you successfully zone a survivor, but with the maps being big or safer than ever, this will rarely happen... i suspect that he also have some problems/bugs regarding his autoaim when you are trying to hit someone (he's the only killer in the game with this issue since when survivors try to 360 you he will inevitably miss for some reason due to the camera moving without imputs from the killer player, even if you already have in your sight)

That's hilarious 😆
no, that's sad if this is true... promoting toxicity even with bots... honestly this is just pathetic

BEFORE YOU JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS ABOUT THIS POST: Please read this entirely...
Back when Survivor queues were 10+ minutes, matchmaking did not work at all for Survivor and I was paired against people from a wide variety of MMR ranges. And I had some of my most difficult matches ever as Killer, not from the perks, but from the amount of skilled Survivors I was facing.
Past a certain point, MMR stops looking for quality match-ups, and just looks for a match to throw you into, typically using a set of "backlog" players. And with a lot of Survivors leaving or swapping to Killer after the 6.1.0 Patch, I think we see an inverse effect happening. Killer matches are easier and less stressful than before 6.1.0 because the quality matchmaking no longer exists for Killers, and instead has shifted towards Survivors.
Which overall, I feel like this would explain why I seem to be facing Survivors who are not at my skill level despite me being at the MMR range to face difficult opponents. It's why my Killrates (despite me never using slowdown perks) has risen with me barely losing my matches (most end in a 2K or 3K). And while some can attribute it to the survivor perk nerfs, I think the quality of my matches have far more influence than the perks and items I face.
And none of this is to say that Killer is "the easiest role" since stuff like that is subjective, and Killer can still be stressful sometimes and I do have to take breaks from the game, just the game feels easier than before as Killer, and my opponents as Killer do not feel on par with myself.
Overall this is just food-for-thought, theory-crafting at best. Would love to hear some of your thoughts on this?
idk what kind of game you are playing, but since they added this cursed mmr my games are just a sweatfest, full of toxic tryhard brats. If before the mmr update i still had some fun matches, now i can't play chill anymore. I'm glad that i stopped playing this mess of a game (i would have used other kind of words to describe it, but i'll limit myself) and started with Evil Dead... it's a lot better under all the aspects imo

So you don't think the dh nerf was a huge buff? Less cooldown on a, hit less sprint duration longer gens? Do you think that's a survivor buff? I mean they've removed infinites, omega nurse and that yes but it was still a huge buff for killers compared to before... hahaha if you would have played in 2016 2017 you would have died... Survivors could heal themselves with selfcare after 2 pallets because "we will make it" worked on yourself, there were no window blocks, you could infinite loop with balanced landing, shack used to have 2 windows and it was IMPOSSIBLE to catch someone looping shack back then (obv tons of people didnt know how to use it properly but yea)...
So because the game before was utterly UNPLAYABLE (at those times it was understandable since it was supposed to be an unfinished game, still a beta) you think that now is fair/funny? I don't know about you, but in my last matches that i did before quitting this game were with people with auto dead hard (this perk was nerfed only if you are aganist a legion or slinger, otherwise it's even stronger than before), NO, THEY DIDN'T, THEY PRETENDED to have fixed infinites, when in reality it could be even worse than before (badham for example: they "removed" the infinite in the school by putting a breakable door, a pity that in the meantime they also added another couple of god pallets inside the building, not to mention that if the basement won't spawn there you are literally forced to open again said infinite in order to reach a hook). Regarding heals they aren't broken like in the beginning (because the game was new and unfinished as i said before), but they are still busted, especially since when they added boon totems into the game (hit and run tactics aren't viable anymore). Add other perks that will grant you more speed to do gens and the rework that they did to gens (only 10 miserable seconds) is only a fake QoL change (gens are actually FASTER than before). The situation started to be grim when they gutted ruin for the 1st time and later they gutted pop goes of the weasel (i still don't get why they changed ruin: old ruin was made on purpose for killers that needed to set up their power before start chasing someone, like trapper and hag. They changed it with something that didn't make sense at all for those killers since their gameplay is based around setting up traps in a certain part of the map, since you don't have the time to put traps everywhere)

Dont panic. Dear developer.i am not trying to attack you.But there are problems unsolved even your fog whisperers says for YEARS .
İ am going to talk about all the problems both killer and survivors have.Listen carefuly. At least for once.if you read this you wont regret it. Trust me.
Killer side problems
Since the release of the game playing killer is a nightmare.Look at the past.
They nerfed Huntrress iri add on.they nerfed deathslinger.and they didnt even give slinger good addons.his addons are disaster!
and then they reworked old legion.they nerfed ruin a lot of times.now they gonna rework(basiccly a nerf btw)
Rancor and devour hope.no more mori to survivors.İf killers cant kill survivors then this makes the hookers(not a bad word) they hook survivors right?
Devs gave them basic borrowed time which ı get ıt ıt ıs because avoid the camp. But still. They wil give them flash buff and limitless unbreakble...You can not remove slug frm the game.İF a killer slugged all survivors then you should blame survivors or you should praise the killer for doing that.thats a skill not an issue.(ı am not talking about Nurse.she is a problem ı know)
and did you know that doctor has problems to?If you shock a survivor.they will effect by ıt after 1 second.you can decreace thetime with add ons. But why?why would ı decreace the time why does it take 1 second to effect them?why dont you make them basekit?
And silent killers OMG. Ghostface and most importantly THE PİG. moving while crouching is soo slow.
And pig literally BECAME A MEME!you ever saw that? every one in community knows this meme. "Oh there is a bug in the game?lets nerf pig!"
and why would ı bother with ambush attack?it is too loud and hard to recover.instead of this ı always click the button "uncrouch" then immedalyt and silenly stab survivors.
You saw the new survivor vittors perks?
They gave him gen rush perks like gen rush isnt already fast enough. They say kill rates are okey but even otzdarva says there is a lot of problem on killer side.Like gen rush.Like maps which we cant not play or mind game against survivor.I am talking about The game map.The map they havent change it in 4 years...And garden of joy oh..
this is like a joke.Killers like ghostface cant fight against good survivors.Even fog whisperers says ıt.
And there will be or gen rush after those perks. Why exacly?Do devs really hate killers that much?If ı bought a kiler then ı would like to play with him/her with peace.not in stress and get cancer from ıt.Playing killer is too much stressful.İf you havent tried it in high mmr.Just try.you wil understand what ı mean.
Otzdarva and other fog whisperers plays good at kiler side. But remember that.We are not he same. Not everyone should be like him.I mean there are people who dont play like him and wants to win but no... lke i said even fog whisperersays ıt.killer side has hug problems.
Survivor side problems
Now lets talk about survivor side.
Survivors complaining about Nurse and even killer main ( even me) complainning about her but devs still havent change her.Why exacly?you really love her that much?
And devs still dont bring any ANY communication system to the game for solo survivors.
instead of doing these two things.they just change perks.yes PERKS.İnstead of nerfing nurse they nurfed starstuck, awakened awarnes.Just because they dont want to nerf a killer, you killed those perks for other killers...
instead of giving communication system to survivors they nerfed overchage just to help solo survivor.you wanna help solo survivors?
Then give them communication system. And Nerf nurse already.
if you cant not find any way to put communiciation system to the lore in the game.
then how about this:
-Vigo or new observer team found a way to bring walkie talkie to entitys realm.now every survivor has walkie talkies.
here is the idea use ıt.
you are wasting your time mate, they won't listen what you'll say. do you really think that people didn't gave feedbacks like this one in those years? This game is a LOST cause, you have 2 choices left at this point:
1 accept how this game works and still playing it (bad idea imo since they had a lot of time to come up with some nice changes in those years, but they thinked more to create skins and USELESS charms than fixing the game's problems)
2 move on to other stuff (for example since evil dead is free on egs i gave it a try... i wasn't disappointed)
