There are far more killers that need help... pig, wraith, myers, trapper, legion, clown, etc etc...

Playing these killers in red ranks are absolute nightmare, especially against SWF.. this is one of the reason why you don't see them in higher ranks.

IMO the problem with these killers are far more important than just a spirit. If you are complaining spirit because you see her all the day, then buffing these killers will definitely help it in this case.

Thankyou I’m sick of everyone complaining about Spirit needing a nerf when it’s the other killers in need of buffs. If they buff the other killers then we will see more variety at high ranks not just Spirits and Freddys

Same reason why survivors don't have spirit or mori compensations. The devs dont give a #########.

Spirit compensations, nice joke I laughed very hard

Survivors have trouble in Hawkins and The Game, and Killers have trouble at Red Forest and Corn Fields

I would make corn fields a bit smaller and that's it, I don't think any other map should be moved, what do you guys think, with which map(s) do you have trouble?

Ormond it’s very hard to control gens since they’re so spread out and the loops are hard to mind game too.

  • @Peanits Can you clarify if OP’s situation is considered holding the game hostage ?

Rank 1 Spirit chased me for nearly 3 gens, I'm a killer main and can still loop a Spirit and this is proof its not hard if you know what you're doing.

As someone who plays a decent amount of Spirit, I really think she needs a phasing animation to provide survivors with more feedback during chases. Considering that Spirit is very prediction heavy and that's the aspect of her gameplay that feels most rewarding, survivors knowing when she's phasing would enhance this experience rather than hurt her gameplay.

Currently Spirit can gain a lot of feedback from the Survivors, while they recieve very little, which I think is the main issue people have when playing against her.

While it also feels great tricking a Survivor into jumping over a pallet etc. and grabbing them. This happens so rarely and doesn't feel great for Survivors. So an animation or indication she's started phasing seems like a good start to alleviate some frustrations.

The whole point of Spirit is predicting what she does, she’s a mind game killer. You also can already tell she’s phasing because her animation replays which isn’t even supposed to happen.

That's right, Balanced Landing now needs a buff or rework.

With the recent release of the Cursed Legacy chapter, Balanced Landing was changed to no longer provide the stagger reduction when exhausted. With that nerf came the "buff" of it also removing the noises made when falling, and the grunt when landing.

The clear thing is that the nerf heavily outweighs the buff. Balanced Landing is now the worst exhaustion perk in the game and generally just a bad perk overall. The perk is straight up useless in almost every scenario, especially on maps with little elevated surfaces.

Now that the nerf is officially in place, it needs a sort of reverse. I'm thinking that the perk should give the stagger reduction and remove the noises made when falling, but the exhaustion aspect of the perk should be completely removed, making the two extra parts act as passive perks rather than active perks with the exhaustion portion. It is Balanced Landing after all, not Elevated Sprint Burst.

You do realise Balanced landing was nerfed because it was the reason infinite’s existed ?

Oooh strider! Yes of course! Thank you so much idk why i didnt think of that! 1000 hours and i forgot about stridor lmao

You’re welcome, just be prepared for people to complain.

Im actually half deaf so i cant hear with my left ear, does this make it impossible for me to play spirit? I really wanna try her but i really struggle with hearing so is it worth trying?

Still rank 1 with PH tho :)

Spirit can very rewarding if you’re able to listen out for certain sounds like the grass moving and footsteps when survivors run. You could maybe try running Stridor to make survivors louder when injured and when breathing. You also don’t have to just rely on sound, scratch marks and blood can help you track down a survivor and she even has a add on to help :).

just curious to see peoples opinions. This one is mine

I place doctor higher on this list, because I think certain builds with him make him insanely strong, one of more underrated killers, and legion because I think people underestimate his power and the interesting ways his power can be used (maybe im biased because hes my second killer under spirit in terms of hours played). I personally think pig in the right hands is nuts, the pressure you can apply to a game without stall perks is already good.

    Here’s my tier list

  • Definitely Otz, he always provides such detailed information and all round just such wholesome dude.

  • I don't mind it in general but when a full swf use it plus iron will and sprint burst it can be quite draining, same with Adrenaline having 3 or 4 Adrenalins pop at the same time is a big punch to the gut.

  • @thelittlemonsters said:

Just switch her phasing sound around so it lets people in her terror radius know she’s phasing. She literally doesn’t need anything else. That’s it.

She can still come out of nowhere and scare the ######### out of people, even getting a grab or free hit.

In the middle of a chase you know to go from looking behind you to trying to out predict what she’s doing.

Sure, she can’t stand at the other side of a pallet or window to trick you, but she can literally just undo her invisibility and pull off the Nurse bait blink trick to get people to vault into her. The difference is she has to work for it

Survivors still have to play like they’re Nurse and Spirit still has the advantage of having more information than the survivor.

Can people stop with these Spirit rework posts ? BHVR would of made changes to her power or her base kit if there was a problem when they changed her add ons that were simply too strong.

The Spirit is supposed to be unpredictable that's why she is so good in a 1v1 scenario, if you take that away then whats the point of her being a killer that is supposed to mind game.

The Spirit already has two to visual cues that tell you when she's phasing which aren't even supposed to be there but they are. These cues are when she phases she will go pale and have a static like effect on her similar to the old tv's when they'd lose signal. Another cue is when she is standing still her animation will reset when she starts her phase. Both of these cues can be identified if you pay close attention.

The only problem I have with Spirit is when she has Stridor since it doesn't give survivors much room to outplay her when she phases if they have a good headset. A good Spirit shouldn't need to rely purely on the sounds survivors make when they're injured, a good Spirit will use the sound of grass moving, footsteps when survivors are running, the breathing sounds survivors make (Iron will stop this when survivors are injured which isn't part of its design) and scratch marks (Obviously this doesn't count if they run MDR).

It can be hard to go against a Spirit with a decent amount of hours but its not like you can pick her up with zero experience and 4k every single game against a good SWF (Unless you're running Stridor then it makes Spirit 10x easier to play) otherwise BHVR would make changes based on what they think is the problem.

But that's my take on Spirit feel free to flame me all you want, telling me I'm a boosted rank 1 that only plays Spirit, but that's my opinion of her based of playing as her and against her :).

  • These Spirit rework posts are getting really repetitive. If the Spirits power had any problems the devs would of made changes to it when they changed her add on's.

Spirit's whole power is based around mind games and not knowing what she will do next. If you take that away then what is the point of her being a mind game killer and she is supposed to be strong in 1v1's.

Spirit already has counters that let survivors know she is phasing if you pay close enough attention. When she phases her body will have a pale coloured static effect similar to those old tv's when they lose signal and her animation when she stands still also replays when she starts her phase. These counters aren't even supposed to be there but they are.

The only problem I thing I think is unfair for survivors is when they go against a Spirit with Stridor since it doesn't give survivors a chance to mind game Spirit when she phases if they have a decent headset. Anyways a good Spirit shouldn't need to rely purely on injured sounds since there is other things like the sound of grass moving, sounds of footsteps (especially when mud is involved) and scratch marks that help her seek out survivors in a chase (Obviously scratch marks only apply if they aren't running Mother daughter ring).

You can't make changes to Spirit's mind games without nerfing her to a point where you change her too much.

But that's basically my take on the whole situation around Spirit she can be hard to go against especially if they've got a decent amount of hours on her or they have Stridor, but its not like you can pick up Spirit and beat every SWF you go against unless you have Stridor then it makes Spirit 10x easier to play. Feel free to flame me, calling me a boosted rank 1 that mains Spirit all you want but its my opinion and I'm allowed to give my take on the situation :).

Can people stop with the rework posts for spirit seriously. The devs reworked her add ons if they seen a problem with her power then they would of addressed it when they did her add ons.

The whole point of spirit is to be strong in mind games and 1v1’s, her power is based around not knowing what she is going to do. There are already is a few tricks that aren’t even supposed to be there like her body going all static and crystal like when she phases and her animation that plays while she stands still replays if she phases which isn’t supposed to happen either.

If you take away her mind games then what’s the point of her being a mind game killer. It’s not like she can phase an infinite amount of times either, if you know she just phased then use that to your advantage since she is 110 killer.

The only two things I think is wrong with Spirit is stridor Spirit and her duration add ons make her power recovery faster since the base recovery speed doesn’t account for the extra duration.

There are plenty of feedback on the optimization sub board but I don't see any reply from BHVR, so, once again:

are you aware that fps on console (PS4, at least) degraded A LOT since 4.1.0 when playing as killer?

Here, I'll post you a video from today on Hawkins, it's basically a slide show every time a survivor is on screen.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489

    (if it doesn't open: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/701472489)

as a comparison, here's the same map (different killer, but trust me, it's not the Oni the problem), but from one month ago

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944

    (again: direct link is https://www.twitch.tv/videos/665197944)

The frame rate obviously is still far from optimal, but it's a great deal better than how it is now.

Can you, @Peanits , @Almo or whoever else at least say "yes, we know, expect a fix soon / buy a pc you filthy console peasant"?

EDIT: bonus video - Hillbilly on a very open (and not very elaborate, polygonally speaking?) map.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xvi3tYBSOA

The framerate is certainly better than on Hawkins, but as you can see every time there's a chase, maybe at T-L walls, everything goes south.

Here's another video to add to the pile

You can't really discuss Springtrap around here, the people usually don't read the posts and comment 'no', 'cringe' or/and '12 year old'. Sad, honestly, but you already saw it here, in this very post.

I hate to burst your bubble guys, but FNaF isn't only about jumpscares. Jumpscares are just the punishment for losing, while other games jumpscare you just... because.

FNaF is about the story... and no, there are not thousands of retcons. FNaF has the games, it has the three novels and the quite disturbing and sad 'Fazbear Frights' books that for some reason seem to be sold in the kids sections... I guess that's okay, children may not understand the stories written in them, I don't know. There's also a movie coming up, it's in works for quite a while know since Scott Cawthon, the creator of FNaF, wasn't happy with the scripts and want that movie to be actually good, he also switched from Warner Bros. to Blumhouse because he wasn't happy with it. He actually cares that it will be good.

Every franchise has 'cringe' children in it. But to use that argument for FNaF is... kind of sad honestly... if you don't want a chapter, just discuss it like a normal person, with arguments AND TRY TO ACTUALLY LISTEN TO PEOPLE... because that's a thing many don't do, they just go with the majority and hate something just because others do.

Little edit: Assuming everyone making those posts or wanting Springtrap in the game is 12 is actually pathetic to be honest, there's something called 'opinions'. Maybe come up with some arguments next time?

    100% true

  • @sk1d said:

I feel like the backstory of FNAF is not childish it's just the memes and the edits/fanbase that makes it childish. The background story makes this character a possibility to fit in with the rest of the killers with their gruesome backstory's as well. But FNAF just seems to far off from dead by daylight. I mean springtrap is still very much a mystery towards the whole community so adding him to the game would be very difficult. Also with his power from the things I've been hearing people's ideas I would never wanna play this killer. But those are just ideas in the end. All in all I think fnaf background is not at all childish but the possibility of it being added to the game is low.

Thankyou, see now I can understand

  • I play on console and I am having a very hard time trying to see people with BBQ especially when there is a survivor on a generator. Just overall the hate the new aura system it is atrocious

  • where's Springtrap wahhh I want Springtrap, where's Springtrap. Nah i'm joking I wouldn't mind Springtrap I think the devs could make it work. Don't @ me saying the game is childish because if you actually dove into the lore behind it you'll find that its way more creepy, graphic than it seems and if you took the time to look into it you'd understand how much effort has been put into the games.

Now from what you've listed here I had have to say Pennywise even though I don't think it would happen because Pennywise is probably on the same power level as the entity itself which doesn't make sense dbd lore wise and i feel like if they did add him to the game he'd be severely overpowered or he will feel very weak compared to to movies.

Candyman doesn't really get me hyped since I barely know anything about him because of how old his movies are and I've never considered his movies big either compared to Freddy's movies or the Halloween series, he seems very boring to me with how he's summoned by saying his name three times like some sort of ritual. I just don't like the idea of him and his background. That said though if he does get added to dbd I will definitely try him out and I'm sure the devs will make interesting in some way.

  • @EpicBigBrain said:

right now I'm thinking about trying to learn Huntress but the only thing stopping me is that I'm on console.

I've also tried Oni but he just doesn't feel right to me.

Does anybody have any suggestions of who I can main next

Don’t give up on him yet there’s still a lot of time for the ptb and hopefully they will lighten the nerf. Fingers crossed

  • @burntFuse said:

I don't know why anybody ever thought PH's cages were unfair. Last night I downed and caged a survivor just as they were about to run out the exit. The game sent them to the other open exit gate where all the other survivors were already waiting. It basically handed their entire team a safe escape.

That might’ve been me because I was about to leave and then my friend got caged right next to me and a open exit gate.

  • In order Freddy, Spirit, Deathslinger and Clown.

  • @Ivaldi said:

No sympathy for playing the most toxic killer in the game.. The simple fact that a killer like Plague can completely remove an entire category from the game exists is a detriment to the game. Killers complain about gen rushing, yet have no problem playing a killer that completely removes healing from the game.

If you honestly think that of all killers plague is the most toxic killer merely because she removes healing from the game then you clearly haven’t versed a leatherface that slugs everyone and lets them bleed out or a Freddy with swing chains, jump rope and NOED.

  • Because Freddy is disgustingly good in this game and is very easy to play

  • When downing a survivor try to face wall then pick them up or when you down a survivor check around the area for another survivor if there is another survivor around either try and chase them away then go back or if you get the opportunity hit them and it will discourage them from coming back.

Another tip is if you do face a Survivor that’s about the flashlight save as soon as you pick up the downed survivor quickly look up

  • @senki527 said:

wow, again survivors get nerfed. killers are still strong. why reduce great skill check bonus time for example???? it wasn't easy to hit them at all, but at least it helped winning the game, now it's just for useless bloodpoints. and reducing size of maps? come on, you want every killer to get 4k every round. all i read is survivor nerf there, survivor nerf that.... can the devs please chill with all the survivor nerfs and maybe fix the 3 meters windows hit boxes first? or the hits getting through after a pallet is dropped?

You clearly haven’t played enough killer at high ranks to experience what it’s like to play against 4 man SWF’s running meta perks and being decent at the game.

  • Freddy is very good but not overpowered, the problem I have with him is how little effort you have to put in to play him and to get a 4k. He has so many tools in his base kit it’s like the win is handed to you on a silver platter. He is very boring to play and to play against because he is so noob friendly.

  • The reason I find him boring is because he’s so easy to play and I feel there is no skill cap involved to do good with him it’s all brung to you on a silver platter, they also all play the same way abusing the no BT because of the lullaby, spamming dream snares around loops etc. Freddy and Doctor are my two most hated killers purely because they’re annoying and unfun to play against.

  • even if he didn’t stream snipe what I said after still applies

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

Just watch a dbd stream where ghostface, which will probably show themselves in this post, camped the streamer and tbagged in their faces while Mori spamming https://clips.twitch.tv/HotSaltyGuanacoDBstyle

After that they proceed to tbag a survivor that was on the ground and a second before they bled out they morid em. In order for them to not be banned they allowed the other survivor to pick em up, only for them to go back down and then proceed, you guess it, to tbag em. They also picked em up twice just for the "holding the game hostage" report to not have effect.

After that they found hatch which proceed to tbag on and after that they got rekt by sprint burst leaving the last survivor to escape. After the game they went to the stream saying everything they did is not bannable, whilst mocking the twitch chat and the streamer.

So, why is it not bannable? I can't possibly describe a more toxic behavior.

Stream sniping isn’t bannable but if someone is constantly getting into your games to ruin your experience ie tunnel moring you every game that’s bannable but you’d have to provide video evidence across multiple games also if someone is moring spamming you so you don’t bleed out for a very long time then that’s bannable as well because it’s considered abusing a exploit and technically holding the game hostage.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

It depends. If they target you and only you to grief then yes it can be bannable as its purposefully ruining someones game experience.

If they do this to everyone in the match then no it isn't bannable.

The only way to do something is to record the each match and send in a report.

Yes it was only me because he broke a chase with a survivor as sooon as I was unhooked tunnelled me teabagged me then moried me and I spectated my mate and he let the rest of the survivors farm.

  • @VolantConch1719 said:

Sounds like he's taking it personally.

I don't know if this is reportable, but it could be considered griefing.

I don't know what system you're on, but you could try changing your name for a little bit to see if it stops.

If you can provide proof that he is purposefully targeting you, then he may be reportable. Without proof, however, it is heavily unlikely.

I’m on PS4 hence why he can get me so easily because there aren’t as many players on here.

  • They don’t need to balanced separately but console needs a lot of attention in terms of optimisation it runs quite rough for example lagging, rapid frame rate drops, auto aim is broken, start up screen makes your console wanna blow up etc.

  • PGTW isn’t crutch at all you have to hook people to get your stacks.

I’m looking forward to it !

  • Not sure what you mean by map specific mori’s care to elaborate ?

  • Yes I always run BT because you will always get those killers that face camp especially when the exit gates are open and they haven’t scored a kill yet also really useful for when survivors get hooked in the basement I’m a killer main but occasionally play survivor it is annoying to go against but I’ll usually go for the unhooker rather than the unhooked.

  • the concept is cool don’t get me wrong but gens aren’t the problem the problem is toolboxes and swfs running a minimum of 2 in their team and running prove thyself also the maps are a big factor as you can’t keep up with the gens being so far apart and there being too many strong loops and vaults like disturbed ward’s main building as soon as I see someone run in there I immediately break chase because it’s super difficult to catch people in that building unless they’re a potato.

  • The main issue is matchmaking right now but console is lacking killers so I have to wait 20 minutes to 40 minutes I play killer occasionally but it gets stale versing the same people and there is one swf group that is always super toxic towards me so I’ve been taking extensive breaks from DBD.

  • Killer: Rancor or Haunted grounds

    Survivor: DS or Dead hard

  • I don’t notice it as much on outside maps but the game and Hawkins seem to drop in frames rapidly on PS4 and lag a lot.

1 2 3
