It's an interesting idea, but it's pretty brutal. At three stacks, the speed of the dial is pretty much the same as Coulrophobia, and the normal skill check zone is 90% smaller. It's less a challenge, and more that survivors will almost certainly miss a skill check after two or three successes.

It wasnt even just that it was the braindead eruption call of brine 3 gen meta that lasted almost half a year it was absolutely miserable. Killers were getting easy wins cuz they could stall out the survivors and drain them of all resources by just guarding 3 gens
Please don't remind me of the gen kick meta. My therapist says I'm making great progress, but I'm just not ready to explore those memories yet.

Three genning will always exist, but it is much weaker now; Saying 3 genning is the reason is more of the games fault rather than the trapper. Also other killers can three gen so what exactly is the issue with a weaker trap killer with a weaker power doing the same thing?
Also im not justifying 3 genning but literally the trapper is barely as good at 3 genning compared to other trap killers, if you disable the traps they wont randomly become active again (without addons) and they physically have to be picked up or activated again which takes a lot of time, Compare this to other killers and youll see its barrely as opprressivelyJust because a character is weak, doesn't mean you give them something that will make matches against them insufferable. If Trapper started with ten traps, you would see a flood of players just setting up camp around the three gen. It would be miserable for survivors, especially solo queue players that can't coordinate. There's just no reality where it would be healthy for the game.

old SM games lasting that long were not common, SMs holding the 3 gen was very common except most of us aren't comp swfs so we were dying, DCing or killing ourselves on hook
My point is that the most garbage stuff should go, even if it's not common. For example, I don't want to get held in a corner all match by a killer that's annoyed I didn't go down in chase fast enough, then go report the killer. I want BHVR to create a fix so the killer can't do that. It's uncommon, but the game should have a mechanism for it.
-
@dwight444 said:
we don't need a mechanic for something that rarely happens
most people don't want to waste their time doing this to spite the killer or just to get hatch instead of the other guy. Better ways to spend their time for most
Skull Merchant holding players hostage for an hour wasn't very common, but it got nuked because of how crap it was to deal with.
-
Sorry to say, but this might be the most poorly thought out suggestion I've seen on the forums. All it would result in is killers proxy camping a hook, and then hitting the survivor the moment they are unhooked and then hooking them again.
Can you not think of a fix that doesn't enable and encourage the most obnoxious, low skilled crap plays from the killer? You can't complain that survivors body blocking is unfair, then suggest that turbo buffing hook camping is the solution.
-
Honestly, this feels like it should have been addressed by now. I won't complain too much about gameplay styles, except when it's pure time wasting. Being held in a corner by a killer sucks, and so does survivors hiding and not touching the gens. As both are boring as hell to deal with.
I'd be fine with a system to address survivors hiding when there's only two left, but it would be nice if BHVR found a way to allow survivors to progress a match somewhat, when only two survivors are left. Alleviating the reasons why survivors just hide when there's only two left would make situations like that less common.
I don't know how to fix it though, and I've never seen a solid solution other than removing the hatch. Which would be a massive buff to killer players (coincidently).
-
Stop using M1 killers as an excuse for nerfing perks you don't like. People act like they don't even have powers, and have no other option but to walk in circles. WoO doesn't show the aura of Trapper's Bear Traps, so WoO won't stop a survivor from running into one.
If a killer is weak then buff the killer. Why suggest changes that hit new survivors and solo queue the hardest? If you care about game balance, then those are the last two groups you would want to nerf.
-
It's not a bad thing if some killers have more tools. Some killers should have some depth. It would get boring if every killer was as simple as Wraith.
-
Because there's a risk that players will just go straight to the three gen and layer the area with traps. It would be crap to play against, and would reward Trapper for using zero skill expression.
-
I don't bribe the killer. I just act cute and hope for the best.

I never said it was bad I said it is only insane of 5 killers, of course it’s a solid perk. And yes, yes I do use bad perks because I’m not a Meta perk robot, I like to have fun.
And you can guarantee that roughly 90% of games will have a form of aura read in it according to Nightlights stats. So while it can be wasted, both sides have perks that can be wasted.
I always considered meta Huntress to be a full suite of aura perks and add-ons. Aura reading is so strong on her.

remember that bvhr doesn't slam survivor perks as hard. the change could be extremely minor like increased token generation by from 30 to 45 or reduced the distortion aura block duration from 10 to 4/5/6 seconds which means that long aura blocks consume more tokens. the perk might still be effective even after its nerf.
BVHR doesn't nerf survivors perk as hard most of the time and if they do, they just end up being reverted anyway, see Iron will and DS.
Pharmacy is getting tweaks, Distortion is getting an update. I believe Mandy said that tweaks are usually just number changes, where as updates are more substantial.
I think it's getting some big change. I just don't know what yet.

In defence of the ramblings of the OP, it either gets better, worse, or BHVR does a nuanced change that doesn't make the perk worse overall.
It ain't getting buffed, and BHVR isn't known for it's nuance with game balance lmao. I'm gonna guess nerf.

-
If people really want Adrenaline to be weaker, then it needs to activate more than once a match. You can't limit it's effect to only working at the moment the gens activate, if the effect is mediocre. Only brutally strong perks should be this restrictive in their use.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure this out as well. You spend the entire game not popping Tombstone, so you're trying to get downs as an absolute basic m1 killer, that means the no way out and remember me have very little value.
Then to get some value out of bloodwarden you need to down a survivor, open a gate, hook the survivor, with the other survivors either not leaving before the hook (because its a Myers and incredibly obvious) or stealthing out the blood warden.
Like it's not just a toxic strategy, its one that should only work on the absolute most beginning of survivors.

Off the Record and Lucky Break don't really have any overlap in their effects though.
One hides Grunts of Pain, Auras and gives you Endurance. The other hides scratch marks and pools of blood.
Like, yeah, they're both stealth perks but they're not identical.
I wish BHVR would buff Lucky Break. I'd run it, if it's recharge rate wasn't so stingy.
-
Bat form gives you the ability to chase survivors with increased speed, with minimal slowdown after leaving the form. So it's not quite as good as Spirit, but it's pretty good. It can ignore god pallets. The teleport can ignore a bunch of map traversal, which is nice. Especially when going upstairs. He's undectable, so his aura can't be read when moving around the map.
It's a really good form. So it's okay if survivors run three perks to make chasing harder. It's still a good form regardless. Plus he has two other forms to work with if one isn't that effective against a particular survivor.
-
Usually it's fine, but sometimes the game spits out some hideous map layouts. There should be a minimum distance between them so patrolling them requires some game sense, instead of reliably walking between the two.
-
Good news for 40% of the playerbase. Terrible news for everyone else lmao.

It is a buff without the addon, and the same as before, with the addon.
The TP speed is a MASSIVE buff, and will be very helpful.
Overall though, Dredge's current greatest weakness is the lack of lockers. More maps need to be fixed and have lockers actually placed throughout them. (Also Temple of Purgation needs the lockers behind the main gen gate to be removed/moved.) Someone else mentioned a good idea that Sadako TV/Xeno Tunnel locations could be Killer specific locker locations (like for Huntress/Trickster/Dredge), or just universal lockers in the absence of those Killers. I think that would be better change that helps more Killers, and also gives Surv Locker perks more value.
I have no clue what any of that means, but I'll give you a +1 for doing math.

New Basekit Survivor Perk: Rock, Paper, Dead.
When only two survivors are left, Rock, Paper, Dead activates. Each survivor chooses an option, after a best of three, the loser drops dead on the spot.

BHVR can do whatever, they just shouldn't make queer acceptance part of their brand, and then work with someone who contributes to harming queer people.

Let's be real, BHVR knew this collab came with a ton of political baggage. This is the one time that mentioning politics is unavoidable.

I don't know. Don't really care honestly.

Yeah, funding people who are very upfront about their desire to harm queer people doesn't mean he's not bigoted. He just outsources his bigotry to other people, so they can do the harm.
I don't really care if companies want to work with people like Cawthon. But I'm not interested in watching BHVR white knight for the queer community and then throw those principles in the trash when someone offers them enough money.

Serious advice: All the emotional energy you are putting into this game is not worth it. No computer game is worth creating constant complaint threads, and writing endless paragraphs debating random people online.
You might care about this crap now, but eventually you will look back on this period of your life and realise that you wasted a large amount of your time on here, doing and achieving absolutely nothing, other than making yourself miserable.
-
Look on the upside. When your survivor teammates are going 4% on first hook, you get an additional 3 seconds to do gens.

Some dev put out a thing on the forums a few days ago, with statistics of the 2v8 mode. Apparently the win rate for both sides is EXACTLY 50%, which I find very hard to believe.
Maybe the experiences of the people on the forums isn't respresentative of the playerbase overall? People who lose a lot tend to come on here and complain. Those who are doing fine or aren't sweating don't tend to bother as much.

Not to mention all the evidence compiled in Patch Notes which go back years now. Anybody with a modicum of sentience can briefly check through them to see how the team attend to both sides overall in the long term.
"Us vs. Them" is just playground antics now.
I think it's mostly new players, acting like they understand the game, when in reality they don't know anything about the game's history.
It's usually some post like: "In my 14 years playing this game, I can say that this game has never been more imbalanced". Followed by them calling the other side inbred or whatever, and proceeding to go cry in a corner (this part is speculation).

Slugging four survivors during normal gameplay is kinda hard and not the thing you would expect. Did you actually read my comment with an open mind, or did you just came down on it, because it was written by a killer main?
My take was that a Finisher Mori update should remove the opportunity for griefing and BMing from the killers side by just advancing a clearly unwinnable game, without making it this weird sudden death mechanic that it was in the PTB from ages ago, where the Mori would start the very frame the last survivor hit the floor.
But well, I will humor you: if the killer slugs all four survivors, that means that the survivors severely missplayed, as such an occurence is highly impropable. So why do you want to punish the killer for that? At this stage a 4% escape is much more likely then you think. And if the killer babysits each hook until the hanging survivor either advanced naturally to stage 2 or they used up their three unhooking attemps, then this further proofs my point that removing the opportunity to griefing would be a win for the game.
While we are at that point, just give killers the perk "Just Leave" - a survivor who lingers for 40/30/20s at the exit gates area without healing a teammate will get exposed and the exit gates will block for them, until they move further away then 40m from that exit gate. While exposed, their aura will be shown to the killer, thus reducing the ability for survivors to grief the killer and waste unneccessary time.
One day your dream will be realised and BHVR will implement your perk idea.

Chainsaw miss cooldown increased by 3 seconds.
My point is all it takes it slight tweaks to make him feel like garbage to play
Billy is their only well received rework. I doubt they will do anything much with him. He's their golden potato.
