    1. I kinda disagree. I really love Dracula because he has this satisfying and engaging feeling. But the Batform needs a slightly bigger teleport range, and the developers need to fix these high-pitched noises. I also wish they would remove the blackscreen when teleporting - there is sometimes a bug that prevents the teleport backscreen from showing up, and it feels so much better when you can see everything around you during the teleport. If the developers could change this, then the Batform would feel perfect, in my opinion.

    2. Year agree. You can use it on windows and pallets, use it to double tap the survivor, to force the survivor to crouch and lose distance or to slow vault, to put pressure when they unhook, and it can become really nasty when you use the elevations of maps right, and more. It's a consistent spell once you understand it.

Year, the cooldown is really long. I'm still thinking about how healthy the cooldown is or if it's better to make the green pearl basekit for shorter cooldown or at least if you hit a survivor with FOTD the cooldown for it is 10sec shorter or something like this. In both cases it wouldn't be free shorter cooldown which is fair but the first one also effects the other spells.

I don't think any of his spells should have a cooldown of more than twenty seconds. None of his spells are strong enough that they need a really long cooldown. Not to mention that being able to use your abilities is what makes him fun to play.

  • Oh God, don't tell the OP about Haddenfield. Their world view will be shattered.

  • @HolyDarky said:

These stats are from the first three weeks of his release so of cause his kill- and pickrate is higher than it might be now. 3% pickrate is rather low for a new killer who is also our anniversary killers. If he has still this pickrate, then he is fine because we have so many killers in the game that it is okay when some killers have a low pickrate. In fact, this is a cool thing because it means that everyone finds their main and this good (best example is Hag: she is not popular but her mains are mostly happy with her). I also feel like that not many dbd players also play DnD which means they cannot rely on the feeling. Meanwhile, many dbd players also played RE and know Wesker and love him. In case of killrate: survivors have to understand the killer first before they can play better against him but this is rather difficult for them when the killer is not very common. Meanwhile, the killer player learns faster by having more matches with him. Then, survivors learn to play against this killer by playing against him or by watching dbd content that shows how they can counter Vecna. Beyond that, Vecna has this awful achievement, and players love to throw their matches for archives and achievements.

The developers also should not change Vecna to make him more beginner friendly. The recent killers are more complex than the older ones but this makes sense because the developers have more options and manpower to create more complex killers. However, they rather should introduce a new killer that is rather easy to pick up but still difficult to master instead of introducing new and even more complex killers. I like complex killers like Vecna or Dracula but based on the pickrates, the average player loves the easy to pick up and difficult to master but still strong killers like Wekser, Huntress, or Blight.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3795515#Comment_3795515

I would say the average player finds him difficult in that way that you have to use his spells right (how and when to use and when to fake it) or you are punished by a 38sec long cooldown. The players dislike these types of killers. Otherwise, I mostly agree with you. I also think many players dislike the FOTD because the crouch counterplay feels so pathetic. When Vecna was released, I also had this feeling but when I understood this spell better and saw the value, I started to like him and to use the FOTD right.

    I have two unpopular opinions:

    1. Dracula's Bat Form is amazing.
    2. FOTD is a solid, consistent spell.

Being able to destroy vaulters when outside of range of an M1 is great. The cooldown is too long though.

  • Vecna isn't extremely skill intensive. I'm not sure how much easier you could make him. Larry is probably the most skill intensive character in the game by a long shot. Vecna feels like an M1 killer with some gimmicks added on, to me. Not hard to play, but not that strong either. I'm surprised his kill rates are so high. Maybe most of the matches were at launch, and then people just stopped playing him.

Also, is FOTD bad? You can guarantee hits when making a read on a survivor vault, at ranges you would never land an M1. I think it's pretty good. Probably his most consistent spell.

  • My guess is that BHVR hasn't found a way to fix it yet. We thought that Blight's Hug Tech was gonna stay, but it was eventually removed. My guess is that the Crouch Tech is similar.

Amandas trap has been missing in the lobby for months now. She balls her fist as if she is holding it but nothing is there.

    Thanks. I too was clueless.

  • I feel the same in other games sometimes. I'll have a bad match with a character I'm not great with, and just go back to a character I'm actually good at.

Whilst it's a natural response, you shouldn't be afraid to take some losses when trying new things. It's just part of the experience.

  • Rubberbanding has always been a thing that happens. I tend to encounter it the most when new chapters launch.

I had to reread that a few times to be sure I wasn't going insane.

You do realize that adding spyware to their game will nuke their reputation and potential trustworthiness right? Furthermore, they did add spyware to the game in the past and the backlash was so bad that they promptly removed it when the information was made public.

    That post was thoroughly sarcastic.

  • Doesn't it take BHVR like two years to create a new killer? They don't make each killer from scratch every three months.

Ok. Your answer is that it is impossible for them to do the thing you want them to do. They have also given you the tools to hide your name. Feel free to use them.

It's not impossible. BHVR just needs to add spyware to the game, so they can see what players are doing on their PC. I'm sure PC players would have no issue with that.

  • How would BHVR even be able to tell if someone is streaming?

Some people do feel that way; that's true. If the perk doesn't give a huge increase in escape rates when compared to other perks though it's not overpowered.

It's completely possible it is overpowered; the only group that would have the data to know that is BHVR though. If it does, they'll change it. Personally, I feel the item perks along with Built to Last and/or Streetwise are more impactful on a match but there's also a counter to that; Franklin's.

WoO also has Hex: Third Seal and a bunch of other blindness perks as counters as well if people think it's too much of an issue and Blindness also counters Fogwise, Alert, etc.

My main point, however, is that unless it's tied to a much greater escape rate than other perks bring it's not overpowered.

Yeah, WoO is the most common perk that survivors run. Yet, escape rates seem to be stable. If it's run by the majority of survivors and escape rates are still between 40 - 50%, then it can't be damaging the game's balance.

  • I don't think that is the problem for most people. Most complaints seem to state in some way or another, that it makes playing survivor too easy. That's the core of the issue. Even though WoO hasn't really impacted the game's balance, people don't like it because they feel that their opponent is able to equip a perk and turn their brain off, whilst they have to work hard.

This sentiment will prevail until the perk is completely gutted. Even if BHVR added a cooldown to the perk, it would still enable survivors to loop more efficiently. So this sentiment would continue regardless.

  • The game has always had mediocre online play. My ping in this game is always twice as high as every other game I play. Not to mention that people will use a VPN to go against players on the other side of the world, basically giving them god mode.

It would be nice if BHVR would optimise the game better, so these things aren't part of the core experience. Having disgustingly high ping should make the experience bad for you, not the other players.

  • Maybe people are just running it to complete challenges. So they store and dump the energy immediately.

  • It could be that DS sucked for a long time, so that reputation is still lingering. Casuals might not even know it's been buffed.

Not to mention that a lot of newer survivor players might not even have the perk.

  • @Mr_K said:

Anybody that clicks Ready should be commited to play that match. To leave that match is breaking that commitment leaving the other players envolved holding the bag.

Think of it as signing a contract. There are penalties to breaking a contract. Don't sign up if you can't keep your end of the deal.

This is true. People have limited time to play matches. So you shouldn't feel free to waste it.

Edit: Just realised OP ist tot.

    RIP

  • I'd put Exponential down for a rework. It's useless in normal matches, but really good for bully squads. There's no middle ground with that perk. The same goes for Boil Over.

Both DS and UB are extremely strong, but that's because they need to be. So, strong but not needing a nerf.

  • If I'm trying to get away, as in lose the killer, I break LoS and start walking, so my scratch marks can't be tracked.

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

You can quit 3 times before your first penalty and it resets every season. I don’t think anybody is going to have that many emergencies.

Au contraire. I've died several times whilst playing this game recently. Now I have a DC penalty. Haven't I suffered enough already?

  • Imagine a mode where certain perks get mega buffed for a day. So each day you are incentivized to use these insanely strong perks. Then the next day a new set of perks are buffed. That could be fun.

Failing that, mega buff all chase perks. Give us a chase meta.

  • I was thinking environmental hazards being added to each map. Remove a bunch of pallets, and replace them with new interactions that can be used by the survivors. Things like:

    • Damaged steam pipes that could stun the killer or survivor
    • Explosions to create smoke screens
    • Oil barrels that could be tipped over to create temporary fire barriers
    • I can't think of anything else

Then BHVR can add a bunch of new perks.

  • I'm not even sure what the OP is commenting on. Are they complaining about items and add-ons, or are they complaining about iri survivors?

    This post is so vague.

  • Why can't the OP comment on perks being kind of lackluster, without people turning it into a flame war over which side has it worse? It's not like they were shading anyone. They just said that they thought this year's survivor perks were kind of meh. Which is fair enough.

  • I think we've reached the point where we need new gameplay mechanics. There's only so many interesting perks you can create around a limited list of actions.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    lmao get it, bugs?

Ok jokes aside, does it bother anyone else how they've been handling killer techs lately? Dracula gets a bug patched that makes his weakest form a bit better, but Knight has a bug that plagued him for MONTHS that causes guard AI to break, sometimes in a dramatic way, turned into a feature?

It just seems weird to me. Either way, I hope Wolf Form gets buffed if they decide to go through with removing it, it really isn't good compared to the other two forms.

I think the AI bug is just more difficult to deal with. BHVR seems to fix things quickly when they can. My guess is that the Knight's coding is pure spaghetti.

I've seen Hens and Xeno playing Dracula, and both do well with the wolf, even when they don't hug tech. Xeno played their matches in wolf and bat primarily, and found success. Honestly I feel like the charge is just a better Demo shred. It covers a large range and can go around corners.

The more I see of Dracula, the more I think he's a really strong killer. All three forms are great. Even if the hug tech gets removed.

  • How about making the perk scale in strength, based on hook stages? Something like:

Zero Hooks = No aura blocking.

One Hook = Gain three tokens that cannot be recharged.

Two Hooks = Permanent aura blocking with scratch mark suppresion for a limited time.

So it's weaker before getting hooked, and stronger when you are closer to being sacrificed. It no longer forces pressure onto other survivors early on, and it's powerful when it's needed most.

  • Do you remember when the devs said the rework would make Trickster less annoying to play against?

    images (3).jpeg
  • Dracula is pretty good. Weaker than Plague and Pyramid Head, but a bit stronger than Xeno. As far as balance is concerned, he's starting of in a good place.

  • I doubt the Doge Tech will be removed. I think the only reason BHVR committed to removing Blight's Hug Tech was because they said that they would, and Blight needed a reasonable nerf. Duckula isn't strong enough to need that sort of nerf. I mean, Whiskers still has his.

  • I feel like a bunch of time was spent designing the main building, and less was spent on the rest of the map. It kind of feels like there's just stuff all over the place. Lot's of pallets, but no amazing loops. Reminds me of Hawkins, kind of.

Nah, some people are just douchebags, especially in post game chat. I think BHVR should ban people from post/pregame chat if they get reported a ton and are clearly being rude but that pretty much doesn't happen unless you fling slurs or make death threats. It doesn't even need to be a game ban, just a chat ban.

Either that, or just remove communications report completely, remove the filter, let all hell breaks loose. What's the difference anyway? The current system is stupid and lets people to be awful without repercussion.

Our views don't really conflict with each other. There are plenty of what the OP describes as "bad people". I just saw SpooknJukes most recent video, which shows just how rotten some people truly are. Genuinely, the depths that online folk will often sink to after losing a match is terrible.

But most players are just messing around when they troll. If the OP sees every slight as demonstrating how terrible they are as a person, I would say that's overkill. There's no way the OP is encountering the worst of the worst at a rate of 80%. Encountering that much genuine toxicity suggests to me that the OP might need to fine tune their perception of others. If someone intentionally sandbagged me (that's right Bill, it's been four years and I still haven't forgotten), I wouldn't view them as being a bad person.

Right, I've got an eight hour drive to do now.

    good-luck.gif
  • Maybe you're just getting low MMR survivors in your matches. Sometimes matchmaking just can't find the right players for a match. Strong survivors will milk every loop for as long as they can.

  • If all you see is toxicity, then it might be worth considering that your perception of other people might be the issue. It's quite easy to perceive toxicity where none is intended. I've seen plenty of people get tilted by something completely innocent, just because they were already in a bad mood.

There's plenty of toxic players, but it's not 80%. Not even close.

  • Were you playing on Ormond? Cold maps can do that to Nemesis.

  • It's not a bad idea. It would be fun to have a mode where chase perks on both sides get turbo buffed. If it was popular, it might give BHVR some ideas on how to make the main mode more fun.

  • You've only played her for an hour? Maybe just put some more time in and you'll do better.

Normally I would agree with this thought process but it's more about the item than the perk honestly, currently there is no way to counter a BNP, they just so happened to make it a perk recently as well.

BNP's brought to the match are iridescent, and BNP effects are earned through gameplay. I think it's fine you can't hard counter that. Especially with an offering.

  • I don't think offerings should hard counter perks. Especially when you have to waste a bunch of time to activate the perks. Not to mention, that if you add something like that, the next one added will be an offering that disables killer add-ons.

  • The better option would be for BHVR to tone down some of the sounds and visual effects. That would be an easier fix.

  • Attempting to track survivors whilst in Bat form is the only kind of skill expression the form has. Making survivors visible would just make Dracula more boring to play.

    @VomitMommy said:

Bat should get buffed in form of easier survivor tracking by sound. It's terrible to use for this.

But Bat can teleport, fly over windows/pallets and have basekit Zhansin's tactic. Unlike Wraith, or Spirit.

Not being able to attack is not the issue. Issues are movement (feels weird) and sound tracking.

    This would be preferable.

so people aren’t allowed to give constructive criticism?

Playing against a killer for a day and assuming you have the killer figured out enough to suggest nerfing them on day two is absurd. It's junk information.

It's less constructive criticism, and more premature complaining.

  • My guess is the OP would still lose the match somehow.

  • It's been one day since he released, and you already have a list of nerfs? I'm sorry, but people like you are the reason this game is getting boring. Everything has to be nerfed immediately.

  • As has been said, it gives you map traversal.

Being able to teleport into buildings on the second floor is great for saving time.

You move at 6 metres per second, so you can get around the map faster in general.

You can close the gap faster after landing a hit.

You are undectable. So your aura cannot be read.

    You can ignore god pallets.

It is a good form, that should not be anywhere near as strong as Spirit's phase walk. It's more for mobility rather than lethality.
