she can already do that with her current movement speed.
At 3.8 there is room for the survivor to be creative and lose her. If she's 4.6 then it would be straight up impossible.
-
Any form of hostage taking needs to be addressed by the devs. Whether that's killers bleeding survivors out for four minutes, or survivors holding killers hostage by hiding and refusing to progress the match. It all needs to go. I don't care about disrespect, but I draw the line at time wasting.
As to whether killers getting disrespected justifies bleeding survivors out for four minutes, I'd say no. Just BM back and then finish the match. If survivors aren't holding you hostage, then don't do it back.

I'd much rather see feel good changes for Pig than actual buffs. Although her crouch movement speed should be looked into further.
- Putting a Reverse Bear Trap onto a Survivor should be faster; possibly 2.25 seconds (currently 3.3 seconds)
- Crouch movement speed raised to 4.6m/s (was 3.8m/s)
- Add-on updates for Tampered Timer and a few others.
How is being 4.6 when crouched a feel good change? That just makes it so she can chase when crouched and guarantee a head pop with no counterplay from the survivor.
-
I'd rather deal with Slice n Dice, rather than Scamper. At least Slice n Dice has a skill component to it. You could be falling down the stairs, and still land a hit after Scamper, due to how dumb it was at launch.
-
It's just players projecting their own experiences onto others. If they struggled, then it must mean that everyone else did too. As they are high MMR, and never make mistakes. So the mode has to be to blame for their losses.

You probably talk about 2vs8 with rubberbanding mechanic, but i say about halloween event and how unfair it would be as previous year
Oh yeah, that's true. Well look on the bright side, if the mechanic works well, it will likely make it's way into other game modes.

I play previous iteration and devs told very clear that there is almost 0 difference with new one and have the same problem for killers (cause void is still tha same free escape for survivors and waste of time for killers cause there is 0 reason why you should come here in the 1st place, to take one ghost projectile when other 3 survivors hardly gen rush you)
Sometimes you need to acknowledge that the devs know more about the game's balance than we do. They might make bad changes sometimes, but they have the data. You really should at least play the mode before you judge it as being trash.
As far as the gens are concerned, do not forget that they are adding a rubberbanding mechanic, which will modify gen speeds based on how well one side is doing. That is going to directly nerf gen rushing. To what degree we are yet to find out.
-
Congratulations to all the pork enthusiasts. Wear that bloated pig's head with pride 👍️

You haven't even played the mode yet. You really should learn to recognise when you don't have enough information to come to a conclusion. If you did, your contributions might actually hold water. Instead they read like a bunch of dodgy Facebook posts.

If you want to be insibile during chase, just play Claudette, honestly.
Little did we know that all maps going forward would mostly be brightly lit, and a bug would occur that removes all the fog.

Went against an AFK Wraith running Corrupt Intervention, Ruin, Deadlock, and Merciless Storm. He slowed down the match without even being there, and it was frustrating as hell. We were all working on gens and the match took well over 5 minutes.
I'm sure a high MMR 4-man SWF all playing on PC can do everything perfect, but that's not the average player's experience.
Anyway, the problem is that the devs made generators a baseline thing instead of tweaking gen times and regression and all that depending on the killer. All killers, regardless of their powers, go against the same gen speeds. Requiring killers to use perks to slow down gens has resulted in a lot of unhappy people. For some killers, gens go too fast. For survivors, against some killers gens take way too long. The "happy medium" that's required because gens are treated the same across all killers means most players are not happy with the results.
One thing I was happy to see BHVR is adding in 2v8 is the rubberbanding mechanic for gen progression. As much as some people hate the idea, I think it would be very healthy for the game. If they can make a system that works, it could be added to the main game, and issues with gen progression/regression would be eased somewhat. Not to mention that the system would really only benefit weaker killers and solo queue teams.
-
The gen repair speed increases when survivors are doing poorly, but also slows the gens down when the killers are having a hard time.
You forgot to mention that last part.

Which is silly, because the list of things Distortion counters is huge while the list of things Lightborn counters is piddly. It's just that for some reason some survivors will disconnect when they try to blind a killer and can't, which says more about the survivors than Lightborn.
Whilst I can see why people would make the comparison between the two perks, they completely overlook the asymetrical nature of the game. I don't think it's great that a perk can make multiple perks, including ones that require work to activate useless, but if Lightborn got nerfed, it would make some matches completely unplayable for the killer.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Why are there so many complaints about Lightborn? I'm practically the only killer I ever see use it when I play. I mostly play survivor these days: I see the perk a few times a month at most on other killers, and it's usually just a baby Hillbilly who accidentally didn't choose Tinkerer.
I put on Lightborn because playing killer on console is pain and no matter what I do I can't seem to avoid blinds (or at least losing 90% of my FOV), not even outside of animation locks, not even by looking at walls.
Lightborn counters one small specific thing (blinds, which can only be achieved with a couple items and a couple perks). The killers who bother to waste a slot on it probably hate blinds enough that they would rather stare at an exit gate than get blinded more than once in a match. Before Lightborn got its buff, if I got blinded once I slugged everyone before putting anyone on a hook. Either way, messing with Lightborn is not going to have whatever positive result survivors are hoping for.
I think it's because many threads complained about Distortion hard countering multiple aura perks/add-ons by itself. So seeing as Lightborn hard counters multiple perks/items/add-ons, there are now calls for Lightborn to get nerfed too.
-
I'm sorry bud. It's a real shame that he won't be getting his rework until next year.
Although, this year is almost over. Maybe it will come out early next year.

Yep. As rare as they are, these trials are extremely unfun.
Rumor has it that some content creator said something about slugging and now many players are doing it, but honestly I haven't seen it happen.
There were a few threads with people complaining that hooking was pointless after the hook timer got increased, and threatening to slug everyone they played against. But I have no idea whether that sentiment is isolated or not.

Killers have never had it easier, my man. But Im not gonna say the line.
Survivor is much more difficult than killer in the current environment. Especially with the upcoming perk changes. You're gonna have an even easier time now that your aura perks are useful.
I've only been playing for about four years now. So I missed the earliest days of this game. But I've seen footage of it, and it certainly didn't look like fun for killer players lmao.
-
Based on BHVR's recent track record, my guess is that they are currently looking for fixes for tunnelling, slugging, gen rushing and going next on hook. It's just hard to know when those changes will appear.
We're still waiting for surivors to be able to see their teammate's loadouts. It feels like that was over a year ago, but I might be remembering it wrong.
-
I mean, you've been making the same thread for like four years now. Survivor is too easy, and killers need a PHD to even get a single kill, ect. If four years later you still feel like this, then maybe try something else. No computer game is worth years of stress and frustration.
-
I know it's meant to be a hard mode perk, but I'm not sure how I feel about having a throw the match perk in a team based game. I'd keep the one hit down part, but give it some buff to make the trade off better. I'm sure there's some way to make it stronger, whilst keeping the challenge intact.
-
What's Hex Sentiments? Do you mean Pentimento? I mean, if you got five stacks, that might explain why people decided to DC.

Especially if compared to 2021.

You got it :-)
But in fact this is one reason why this game is so successful.
There's a couple of long running threads on here, that are to this day, still wholesome. I'm glad the tourists don't seem to find them. I'd hate to imagine what they would do to them.
-
Honestly, this is less a community, and more a complaints forum. Very few people want to comment on positive and inoffensive threads. But the deranged threads get lots of attention.
Sorry to say it, but I wouldn't come here looking for community. It's mostly just people screaming at each other.

I mean this is the forums, it's literally designed for feedback both good and bad. I do get what you mean though. Sometimes it's hard to see nothing but complaints everywhere but if nobody complained about anything then no changes would ever happen, and sometimes those changes really do need to happen. (I'm not talking about the modifiers just in general) It's a shame the community can't be more appreciative though.
Maybe if players want to leave feedback, they should create feedback threads (which the devs will actually read).
As far as being appreciative, most players are likely children. Good luck getting anything other than entitlement from the average ten year old.
-
Survivors did not enjoy the three gen meta. That is true. Fourty minutes where the killer refuses to advance the match, whilst doing the least skillful thing possible, and boring everyone to death in the process. Not exactly shocking that it would be unpopular.
-
Suggesting that "the community" responds in that way isn't accurate. You mean that some players respond that way. I wish people would stop taking a minority of responses (many of which are likely the same people who have been banned from the forums and just signed back up again), and using that to paint the community as holding that opinion generally.
There's plenty of threads where killer players say that BHVR only cares about survivors, and that killer players are being victimized. Does that mean the killer community holds that view in general? No. It's just loud idiots having a meltdown because they lost a match in a computer game.
Most players seem to be suggesting that fixing solo queue's problems is the best way to deal with the issue. Not crying "Killer IZ OP, WAHHH!"

Great first post.
And well, according to your post you want to use fun Perks, but you also want to win most of the time? Do you play for fun or to win? Both might not be exclusive, but if you play for fun you should not expect to win almost all of your games.
I think you're talking to a sock.

Sucks more people don't run fog offerings, I miss the spooky/darker feel of the maps.
Also don't know why they removed so much of it. If you look at old videos, you'll see such a huge difference. Its like night/day.
There's no point in running fog offerings. A couple of wispy pubes of fog on all those brightly lit maps ain't gonna do anything lmao.
-
Everyone complained that Bat form was crap. So it got buffed. It was already great. Now it's even better.
-
It's an interesting idea, but going against four of these in one match would be kind of bananas. Sixteen hook stages would be an absolute slog. Killers would likely end up slugging everyone to death if they were against multiple survivors using the iri offering.
-
@AmpersandUnderscore said:
We just finally got them to remove one of the main reasons people lobby dodge. We shouldn't be looking to deliberately add another reason.
Every single one of these posts focuses on the symptom, not the core problem. Disconnects and giving up on hook are just symptoms of the game health not being in a good place. Sure, there are always petty people who will give up at the sound of the wind, but that's always been the case.
The reason so many people are having this issue now isn't that people have suddenly become more petty. It's a game health issue.
For example, the survivor found first is generally going to not get to play that match.
Did they have a long first chase? Well, the killer should tunnel since they only have progress toward one person.
Was the first chase short? Well, the killer should tunnel because they found the weak link and can get someone out easily for the win.
See the problem here? If you get found first, you don't get to play the game. If every avenue leads to "tunneling is the best option, always" then why is it so surprising that survivors who get found first, and presumably would like to actually play the game, decide that's the time to go next?
This isn't to excuse the behavior, but if we are drawn to trying to fix it with "punish them" in various ways, were not going to touch on literally any of the actual reasons this is happening in the first place.
The main thing people don't want to hear, is that 60% kill rate is probably too high. We know 72% is, and that killer likely has the highest giving up rate of the roster.
The devs need to find some way to make solo queue more stable and consistent for survivors. You'd get less people giving up early, if they hadn't been through several catastrophic matches prior to loading in.

Ahahahaha, fair.
The main highlights were: -
- A basic medkit you get more than 2 heals for allies.
- Gel dressings gives you more than 3 heals for allies.
- Max charge addons gives you more than 4 heals for allies.
- Max charge addons and Streetwise gives you 5 heals for allies.
- You need at minimum gel dressings (or the 2 +8 add-ons) to heal an ally and still have enough for yourself.
- You still get 2 heals with Botany Knowledge.
- Max charge addons, Streetwise and Botany Knowledge gives you 2 heals for allies and 1 heal leftover for yourself.
Basically the more charges you have the tastier it gets on this perk.
-
DDoS attacks shut down your internet completely. It wouldn't just boot you from a match.

My idea with it was to give +X seconds onto the next hook timer of the healed survivor in addition to the current effects. I still like that one a lot.
It definitely needs something added to it. 16% boost to totems, chests and healing is abysmal. The devs could make those buffs permanent and still nobody would run the perk.

Thats fair, I was tempted to add something else, but I got a bit lost in maths world and was a little concerned about overstacking it. 😅
Status recovery would be a nice buff, maybe 20%?
I attempted to read the math. Unfortunately I was hungover, so I quickly gave up.

Would love to see this, but every time we try to tackle the bad manners of the playerbase, we get told to "grow thicker skin".
Its not hard to be nice to others. Treat them the way you would want to be treated.
It's necessary to have thick skin. There will always be awful people, and you need to be able to withstand the crap they will throw at you. That's doesn't mean anyone should accept abuse though.
-
It's definitely an improvement. But I'm not really sure what you could do to make the perk even moderately popular. Maybe all three stats could get buffed to 50% for a minute? I don't know. The perk just feels really pointless.
Chest opening speed buffs suck. Totem cleansing speed buffs suck almost as much. Healing speed increases are useful, but it's eclipsed by other perks.
Maybe it needs some other effect added to it. Like making healed survivors exhaustion recover faster for a limited time? Like an altruistic but weaker version of vigil?

We already have Sadako and the TVs. BHVR has done most of the work already.

I think the game does pretty well considering it's an eight year old live service that is niche in it's gameplay, is a dumpster fire for solo survivors, constantly breaks due to the Cthulhu style spaghetti coding, and it's communities are… let's just go with spicy.

Survivors make an obscene amount of noise when they move. You don't realise it until you equip Lightfooted. Survivors sound like a fat horse galloping when they run. Even when you crouch walking you make a ton of noise. It's bizzare.

fun for survivors or for killer? do you have fun against spirit? do you have fun against nurse? maybe gideon, i don't think so.
Both Nurse and Spirit are fun to play against. They require different skills when compared to other killers, which is much more interesting than just running around a rock and dropping a pallet.
-
It doesn't really matter if BHVR changes certain killers. Some are just more fun to play than others.
-
This is why it's always good to give players a chance to mess around, instead of just going for the throat immediately. If you show the other side you're not sweating and are just playing for fun, they are likely to reciprocate.
-
If survivors lose DS from taking a protection hit, all the killer has to do is hit the survivor as they come off the hook and DS would immediately deactivate.
