  • I mean I'm not planning to play pig much outside of challenges she quite frankly cant keep up against good survivors at red ranks (at least not the ones that are trying hard). I just thought it was really weird that her ability didnt activate, I guess the fine print says it activates when a gen is completed (probably I'm not caring enough to read but its implied in the replies) I just think thats a really strange way for that power to work. Like if gens are on their should be power but I guess hers are battery powered or something?

I guess it probably had to be like that for balance? Or does anyone know if there is some like logical reason as to why it has to be a fresh gen pop? I'm mainly just curious, so if not its totally cool and all the above replies are appreciated, the mechanic just didnt make sense to me when it happened is all.

your teammate probably pressed SHIFT, which stops the healing process

Bro I'm a rank 6 survivor (not flexing cause bad just proof of concept) I know how the mechanics work it was also a friend I was in chat with 2 of 3 times. I appreciate you trying to help and all but this was most certainly a bug.

  • In 3/5 games today I had a bug that wouldn't let me finish healing my teammate to full... Sooo like yeah it's still prettyyyy buggy imo

  • I think Myers, Wraiths, and Demos would be my top 3 usually friendly killers.

In my experience Bubbas are by far the least friendly, followed by Deathslingers and Oni's

You forget you get those points for no work, while the Killer has everything to do.

If you want points, Try stepping between a Survivor and a Tuneling Killer, its hillarious.

As someone who plays both roles with pretty even time distribution I very very rarely end games with less than 25k BP on a killer. If I hit 25k on a survivor game I chalk it up as a big BP game.

I've definitely tried to bait myself before tunneling killers before with very mixed results. Some take it personally and chase me, others ignore me and continue to tunnel. It's just frustrating that as a survivor you can be penalized for things that are outside of your control (ex: killer won't chase you, or killer won't give you breathing room to do objectives) obviously it's not the end all be all, but you also didn't really highlight any negatives to my proposed idea aside from the fact that you think it somehow takes less work.

Let her see survivors while phasing to balance that out from her side of things.

Can you explain to me why you think my proposed change would unbalance spirit to the point that she would need buffs?

  • @GoodJobGuys92 said:

They should do nothing to her, just deal with it.

Great input. You sound like a 5 year old throwing a tantrum. Numerous well thought out comments on this thread and you just say "reeeeeee no change" like why waste your own time commenting? πŸ˜‚

I wish people would stop complaining about Spirit. She’s not the biggest problem in the game.

I never said she was. I've made several posts over the last week addressing the problems I have with the game and attempting to brainstorm solutions. Just because I propose a change to one part of the game doesn't mean I think the rest of it is flawless...

  • @Aneurysm said:

I've no problem with changes to spirit that make it easier to tell when she's phasing but what stops the spirit from phasing on the spot without moving before reappearing? More effort + actively listening out for what the survivor is doing is involved but it's ultimately the same standing still trick that's the most complained about thing.

This would involve a conscious decision made by spirit to commit to the location she's in. What makes her so strong now is she can lock down the location she's currently in and if the survivor bolts she just phases and chases them down. These changes allow the same mind games to occur but it would force more commitment from spirit

  • I think spirit is a little bit too strong, and I think that by allowing players to know when she enters phase it would almost immediately change her from a "broken killer" with little to no counter play into a "Strong killer" with new means of counter play. If you know a killer phases at a pallet because she disappeared from sight you now have an option to ease back over the pallet you dropped. A good Spirit would be able to recognize patterns on how each survivor chooses to react to her phasing and be able to mind game while invisible.

Overall this change wouldn't be a huge impact to the spirit player, but it would feel infinitely better as a survivor being chased by her. Knowing she's phase walking and being able to avoid the down during her phase walk are very different things. I just think it would be a great change to make her ability feel less like a guessing game and more like a skill based interaction...

Outside of gameplay mechanics, the visual effect they were going for was that from other ghost jumpscare movies where a character sees the ghost at a distance and then it's instantly right in front of them.

Visually, this is the effect and experience they were going for.

Getting rid of the husk eliminates this effect.

What would you want to give the Spirit in exchange for being able to tell when she phases? We're talking about balance afterall.

I mean I main spirit and I don't think she would need absolutely anything to replace this. I don't think its a core part of her kit. Sure it lets you get some mind games here and there, but honestly that part of her kit is pretty unnecessary imo. I think she is extremely strong currently and I think taking this part of her kit away would be closer to balancing than giving her something else in return.

  • I would thoroughly enjoy a randomized game mode. Spawn in as a random character with a random perk build may the best players win

  • I just tunnel the ######### out of whoever I hook first cause it makes the rest of the game super easy lol. At least thats the strat I plan to use moving forward since its not against any rules

  • @Rivyn said:

Or just give some indication, like glowing body parts on the husk, that she's phasing.

I mean yeah that would work too, I guess I just don't understand why the fake spirit stays there. I thought the concept was she was traveling through an alternate dimension/realm I feel like that implies that her being is in the other place not that she just teleports her physical body.

  • While I agree 200% the devs would never go for an idea that didn't directly put money in their pocket let's be real. We have had some of the same bugs for months and months now. If they really cared about polish most of these would be fixed already.

The devs have turned off the restrictions for which ranks get matched together.

They need to gather data on skill disparity between current high ranks and current low ranks.

In short, currently everybody is being matched with everybody so the devs can determine what they want the new MMR to NOT do.

    Make sense?

It’s gonna be ugly before it gets better.

I mean I can understand that, but man is it super super discouraging as a newer player for almost 100% of my games to be this different in time played/rank I get outplayed quite a lot which is fine, but for me to almost never be in games that feel balanced just makes me not want to play honestly

  • @ohheyitsbobcat said:

IDK, going off of those points it seems like it was a good match for both sides and they were all likely on death hook as well. I'd love to have high point games like that every time.

Tbh the only reason I got that many BP is because I was farming my ability to injure them the david got hooked at the end and I think I was able to hook one other player... The score definitely does not show how much of a thrashing I took.

  • @MaybeShesCrazy said:

I was under the impression it had gone live as I've noticed some differences, or thought I had.

Algorithms take time to adjust. It's never quick. Give it a month or so - honestly - and see how you feel about the in game experience. (Ignore the numbers - numbers - like stats - can lie. ) 😘

Yeah If it hasnt gone live they definitely tweaked some stuff behind the scenes imo. My games are significantly harder than theyve ever been on Killer. Survivor is about the same, just have to deal with the solo queue tunnel farm that mid ranks presents lol

  • I feel your pain friend. It sucks that killers can freely ruin someones experience with 0 repercussions. I've had killers openly admit to tunneling and camping and sadly its just accepted by people as "ohp shoulda done gens" if I'm the one running I can't control the other players and ask them to do gens.

It also sucks because if I get tunneled hard enough I get taken out of the game I just lose with 0 blood points in the other categories. Like at least get rid of the survivor BP cap so that the person getting chased the whole game can end with more than 8000 BP...

  • @WeenieDog said:

it hasn't gone live for PC yet

Thats even weirder... So why on earth are most of my games like this on Killer?

  • @Seiko300 said:

Ya gotta listen to Otz man, sometimes there are just times when you just got straight up outplayed and you have to acknowledge it.

On a serious note, my connection to their servers has always been outstanding and I've never truly suffered from poor connection for a long time now. I shudder to remember the dark ages of P2P where you were subject to the whims of the host (person playing killer) and everybody would ######### on them for using McDonalds wifi lmao.

But seriously, I've never had more stable connections than after they switched to Dedicated servers. I think I faintly remember it wasn't perfect in the beginning but after that they really got better, and I am perfectly happy and content. I haven't had to think about connection in so long I forgot all about the P2P days and that it wasn't always this good.

You can do whatever though. Good luck with your boycott, see ya next fall.

Thanks for offering genuine input without putting me down.

  • well I guess I'll just leave this game until they acknowledge and improve the experience for their players

Boycotts, 99.99% of the time, do not work. They simply don't, you can not get a large amount of willing people to just stop playing the game. Sure, you can get a large number to SAY that they will, but most of them will cave in and hop right on after a day or two.

Maybe you'll get like... 50, or 100 or hell maybe 200 (i really doubt people can even get 10 lol.

So I should just accept its bad and leave it at that? I don't really think that will make things better either...

  • @MonsterInMyMind said:

Okay hey while you are doing this the rest of us are gonna continue playing the game because most of us understand how server improvements dont happen over night but since you think you know it all here is behaviors link for job applications mr tech guy https://www.bhvr.com/jobs/

If you think you can do better get up off your butt and apply.

Hey thanks I'm extremely confident I could do a better job of this and I'm currently looking for a better fit than my current place of work so I am going to apply.

In all seriousness though these issues have been persisting for months now. I'm aware server improvements aren't an overnight thing, but for them to prioritize Cross-play and cross progression over creating a stable playing environment is just a really bad look...

  • Oni, Freddy, Spirit, then Doc

Cool, but you're not changing anything.

It's like not shopping at a certain store because they support a certain political figure, they really don't care and you really don't change anything.

So games don't need players in order to thrive? If a massive chunk of the player base stops playing in an attempt to get better servers it definitely would force the Devs to do something about it. Just google DBD Dedicated servers. Its an actual meme at this point with how bad they are. This is the only option I have left

  • @ShrekTheThird69 said:

I'm pretty sure this is not the fault of the server but of the players connection who is lagging.

My connection is 100% stable in literally every other game and I've run countless tests to verify that the problem is not on my end.

  • Listen if youre playing on a dedicated server in this game youre going to have a terrible time until they resolve the issues...
