  • I find it so annoying that people were crying about how the devs don't use the ptb.

Now they are crying with the ptb and how things are not 100 percent. Jesus, it is the ptb. They have things test out, because it is for sure not 100 percent decent. They want out opinion and how things could be better. Not ragethreads because of stuff that is not even live.

  • Because I like to give my characters a personality. For me they aren't just skins. That's why I play Buils around themes or character.

That is why I run on Dwight Sprint Burst, Kindred, Better Together and Distortion.

Or on Steve Lithe, Any Means Necessary, Windows Of Opportunity and Alert.

Or on Jake Breakdown, Saboteur, Cameraderie and Dead Hard etc.

  • Wasn't his Hex Perk supposed to get destroyed for the aura reading ability? I mean combine it with Hex: Hounted Ground and you see all Survivors for 10 seconds while they are exposed for 60 seconds.

You can even go further and combine it with TOTH, so you know on which totem they are and kill them easily on a strong killer.

  • @Seltas0208 said:

It was mentioned in the developer notes yet in the patch notes there's no sign of it.

If the complaints from people who don't plauge to be able to use half of her ability made it so it was deducted from the patch then..... How the hell did the ruin changes even go through to the PTB then?

Who the firetruck is plauge? I just know the Plague.

Plagues buff comes with the next update I guess. They just said whats coming. Not that it has to be in the ptb.

Because it's the correct answer. If we or anyone else, including Echorion, had shared those pictures with you, that person could have got in trouble with the moderators. If you think the rules are silly, that's fine I guess, but they're still the rules so no need to be rude to FireHazard over it. Neither he nor I have any input on the rules, we just try to follow them and encourage others to do the same.

The problem aren't the rules, they are not silly and I don't see, why you think I have said something like that. The problem was for me your answers. Like yes, if my question was unclear for people like you, then I understand that and you could've just asked. Sometimes we just think different and that is fine.

But those replies theren't helpful. Atleast Echorion answered it with "Look in LeakByDaylight". Simple and helpful answer.

Enough of this useless discussion. I got my answer.

Yeah but don't be rude to the guy either man, he was trying to help; but they have that trusted bit attached so they have to be like, paragons of the community and play it safe.

Just try not to spread it around as fact or make topics about them being added and saying things like "This skin sucks" or whatever about stuff not in the game yet that might never see the live servers. Like I said just be respectful about it and it's all well and good.

Yes, I get it. But I don't get why they need to "answer" me like that. It was zero helpful even tho I now they are "trusted".

    So, again. Thank you.

  • That is what I meant, thank you. But some people need to go crazy. I found them there too.

Yes, because that's the case ha ha.

If you found the information (officially) than all the more to ya, but we can't really post leaked information if that's what you're asking for. If you weren't, than I couldn't find any official information on these future cosmetics for you at this time, sorry.

Again, posting leaked content is forbidden on the forums, as the Forums Rules state, which I can link below for you to review.

here's the forum rules for reference

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/87004/forum-rules#latest

That's is not what I asked for, but okay, thanks I guess.

We all now how dead by daylight works and I don't want "Officially Information". Most people now that dead by daylight patches new outfits with the ptb. So I just want to see those outfits even tho "THEY ARE NOT OFFICIALL".

But yeah, I already have found them so, bye honey.

  • @memento said:

Umm... It sounds completely over powered. Is there a counter other than hard tunneling for killers? This combo gives great advantage for 160 sec to OoO survivor with no risk.

Yes, if the killer hooked the survivor. Don't know about you, but OoO isn't really strong aslong it is not used in a SWF Group. And in that case the new perk won't change anything.

And how many killers use aura reading perks beside BBQ? So again, much drama about nothing. Calm down and wait how it really plays after the ptb.

  • @FireHazard said:

    @The_Daydreamer

There are no official outfits for you to reference.

Any outfits you see through a leaked tweet or 3rd party site is entirely unofficial, so there's unfortunately nothing to be shared with at this time.

    Yeah, sure.

  • @Fibijean said:

Which new outfits are you referring to? If you mean the datamined ones, we can't help you unfortunately, as it's forbidden to share leaked content on the forums.

What do you mean? They are visible for everyone on the PTB by just looking into the costumisation folder.

But I found them myself on twitter. Guess Bunny Feng is finally coming.

Hook suicide is literally helping the killer and therefor reportable. At least if the downing and hooking itself is without any effort to get away.

Or am I wrong with this assumption @Peanits

    You're wrong.

If I'm within 12m of a totem, I can find it on my own. Don't need a noise notification.

The issue is when a totem is well hidden in a dead zone with no gen nearby on the map, so I would never come across it in normal gameplay

Obsly you can't find them on your own. And on some maps they are pretty hard to find. Even tho you are in 12 meter range you can't them, because they are so hidden. So use Small Game if you have trouble with that.

Imo NOED has a good counter and it doesn't need more. 4 survivors should find 5 totems. It is not that hard.

  • Shadowborn as a basekit would hurt killers more than it would help, cause survivors have a bigger chance to blind you. A bigger view means a bigger field to get blinded.

On the other hand, sure, you see more. Dk if thats nice against new players that try to hide.

  • I am not toxic. I just play the game.

  • @iOverSpray said:

I'm a 3 monthish in player meaning I'm the noob youre trying to cater to. Im a Red rank survivor and purple killer as I dont play it much but I'm not bad when I do. This game was awesome!! Killers were fun to play with and against. Then you nerfed ruin... every single game since is either a 3 minute slug fest against billy or a 3 minute gen rush (I do both). Completely non enjoyable at this point and obviously the uproar since the announcement of this nerf, there have been tons of complaints. Are there plans to fix this? If not as im a paying customer you should feel obligated to tell me not to waste any more money on this product.

    Sounds pretty overreacting.

  • I bought all of them. Just want to support my favorite game.

  • Clown really needs a rework or buff. He has like no ability right now.

I still kinda wish they would rework legion into something that includes maybe all characters.

  • 1. It is not.

    2. Toolboxes need a nerf.

    3. This happens not often.

  • I noticed it too, that you can stun people every 0.6ish seconds. But you can still counter it, even if it is kinda hard to deal with it.

But srsly he is fine. He needs to use the brown add on and need to use it right to get the right use out of it. Everything better than the brown addon will just make him weaker, 'cause you can just run around the loop again.

  • @Levitika said:

I like it... but wouldn't it be a 100% counter to Borrowed Time, as you no longer gain the effect of perks from being within the Killer's Terror Radius? (Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, Borrowed Time has too much exploitable potential anyway)

No, because you get the effect AFTER the rescue. And no, BT has not that much potential to get exploited.

  • Nice, a post with 0 value. I never understood people crying about Hex: NOED. It is not that hard to cleanse all totems.

Destroying a totem just takes around 12 seconds I think. If that task is too hard for you or this easy counter is too hard either then maybe leave this game alone.

Like it is not like we talk about DS there you can just get DS'd, slug or leave this person. I mean you even get points for that simple sht. And don't come me with fairness. DbD is not about fairness. Either you want to survive or kill, this is never a question about it is fair or not. I am sure some people don't think Adrenaline, Borrowed Times or BBQ is fair.

That’s like saying don’t M1 when using Huntress. Possible and those skilled enough will have no issue, but you drastically hinder yourself for no reason.

Obviously, there are times where you don’t need to heal and you can do something else like repairing gens or cleansing a totem, but there are times where you need to heal or risk a short chase with your next encounter with the Killer.

Thats true, but in most cases you dont need to.

  • So sad that Yui has more outfits than jeff or adam. Big yikes.

  • Yeah no. Please with videos because I know many killers doesn't know what 2 minutes are.

  • @ChiTenshi said:

There are many factors that cause this healing issue where a Survivor feels penalised for attempting a self-heal or knowingly seeing their allies do it at crucial moments.

One factor that should be addressed is the current anti-heal Perks + Add-ons Killers have easy access to. They painfully amplify the issue mentioned above and Survivors have weak options to counter this.

    ---

Inner Strength - A common suggestion as a counter to anti-heal builds, but has a limited resource that increasingly becomes harder to find and introduces competition between Survivors. With only 5 totems present in each match, you feel restricted option-wise and penalised when more than 1 Survivor takes in that Perk.

Autodidact - It's effectiveness is small and too random. You can be lucky and get multiple skill-checks in a few seconds or you can get a single skill-check through an entire heal and be punished for it, either way it's reliance on skill-checks hinders it usefulness.

Vigil - Although it counters the Mangled status effect, it doesn't help against standard healing times and you still need to take Self-heal to use this.

Botany Knowledge - Same as Vigil but works 24/7 and does not work against the 1 status effect. The most realistic option to help against the healing issue but again, forces you to take Self-heal.

    Solidarity - No.

Just don't heal. Like really. Good survivors just heal if they need to. The antiheal meta is imo fine and we have enough counters. Just because you don't accept it, doesn't mean they weren't there.

  • @Tokkern said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/125439/if-self-care-took-2-minutes-to-heal-people-would-still-use-it

It's on you for not being able to get higher ranks.

And don't give me that "they are on high ranks too" bs. I never see them.

They are honey. Because of the clown matchmaking.

  • She id easily the strongest killer in the game, but she is not fun anymore. Not because she is harder than before. Thats fine. The problem is that she feels.. just weird. Not smooth. Just kinda.. clunky, laggy, weird.. idk. I simply do not enjoy playin' her. I play every killer except she.

  • Ghostface. Because he is the only killer that really scares me and has a impact on how I play.

  • As survivor, just look at my standard build: Sprintboost, Kindred, Better Together & Distortion.

Kindred is so useful like Better Together. I know if my mates are useful and if I can work on gens or if I need to rescue them. And they can too me, so I can heal them or they can heal me.

Distortion is so underrated. It is not just good against bbq. U know if the killers runs any aurareading or if he has bloodwarden. Its so useful and with that build I have everything I need for me and for my mates.

As killer I really enjoy surge in combination with PGTW. I can chase people without wasting time. I remove easily around 35%.

  • Never really used Ruin and never cared about it. But I feel bad for killers like Huntress. The nerf was right, but the rework doesn't get the point why ruin was used.

I play the same like before in rank 1. I get my 3 or 4ks. And I get it relaxed. Most killers are pretty bad, but I understand some of them, why it hurts them.

I still hope that killers will adept.

  • And you don't see an issue with needing 4 perks for information/survivalbility?

We don't need double standards. Perks are there for an advantage. If you have trouble with gens then build it around it. I mean, I don't need perks against loops. So why shouldn't I use 3 perks against gens?

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

I'm sorry, but can you blame killers at this point? Do you really think they like doing this to survivors? Blame the Devs, not the killers. I myself have resorted to this crap just to even earn a single kill. Ruin being nerfed has really made it pretty much near impossible for many killers to even keep pressure on. Matchmaking lets Red ranks just bulldoze through low rank killers. Have you even attempted to play killer recently? If not, I'd suggest you do before you make these assumptions of killers. Then you will see just how bad it is for us!

You haven't many hours in the game right? Because (depending on the killer) you don't really need Hex:Ruin. I play on rank 1 and I don't missed that perk one bit. Just play PGTW with Surge and Corrupted. (Btw I played killer like demo, freddy, doctor, oni, trapper and wraith). I can just say: If you play huntress then I feel your pain. Otherwise I think 60% of those crying killers are just bad

    • Bottles may explode as in his face as soon as he throws them (this one has existed since his release)
    • Bottles may not explode when thrown at all
    • Bottles may be thrown in a different location than the intended arc
    • Bottles gas may not effect the survivor at all, even when they run through them and scream,
    • Gas even when it does form, doesn't stop survivors from fast vaulting most of the time
    • Bottle gas may explode in a different location than when the bottles themselves were thrown

I think there was one more, but I can't think of it at the top of my head at the moment. All of the above bugs have been happening for months now and he still remains broken.

As said, I didn't have seen those bugs and I play him sometimes.. How are these bugs triggered?

  • Tbh I don't care about getting tunneled or camped. I just run Sprint Burst, Kindred, Distortion and Better Together. So everyone knows if the killer doesn't like to play fair, I can do gens and I see if my mates are useful or not. Pretty helpful solo player build.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Love how DS got fixed again within a week, but Clown's bottles still have over half a dozen bugs associated with them over 6 months later.

I guess they fixed the hissing sound being stuck where the bottles exploded sometimes, though. That was super important. /s

What bug does he have? I haven't seen one besides that sound bug.

Maybe if you learn to loop instead of spamming those pallets, you would be able to stun him and cancel his bloodlust.

The killer decide if he gets stunned or not.

  • Sabotaging hooks is pretty good for the killer, because you're are wasting so much time. One survivor less on gens.

And if the killer is smart he still gets all hooks. Those killers that are complaining about that, are just not killermains, not smart or to sensitive for this kind of game.

  • I guess he is not OP, but I don't know what to say about the shock. You can shock people every 0.6 seconds and they can't do ######### for 2.5 seconds. So you can stun them 24/7 and they can't to anything against it.

    Looks fair to me.

As i said, Easy to say than done.. Have you tried playing M1 Killers on Big ass maps since nerf ruin? Yeah as a Red Rank Killer myself, I still get 2 Kills on Big ass Maps, But unlike with Ruin before, I don't have any problem getting 3K-4Ks on big maps.. That's the problem now. Since OG Ruin is gone. M1 Killers doesn't have any chance on Big ass Maps.. Especially on Baby Killers who are facing Red rank survivors because of the stupid matchmaking.. beside that, have you read my post? I'm the type of killer who in anyway wants his game to end before the last generator is even done AKA "End Game", so what are you talking about?

Yes. I main M1 Killers like Freddy, Legion, Demorgogon and Oni.

As said, play smart and strategic. Its not that hard, even tho I understand your point about big as(s) maps.

  • @DragonOfPain said:

So I'm trying to adapt without Ruin.. I still get either 2 Kills on Big Maps and 4 Kills Constantly on Smaller Maps such as Game, Lerey and Hawkins (unless of course survivors bring their OP keys on these maps).. So when will you devs nerf DS, Andrenaline and DH? I don't have any problem with Borrowed since I don't like tunneling and tunneling is not a good strategy on the Red Ranks because of the DS possibility which wastes more time.. But now ruin is gone, You get 2-3 Gens popping in 1 minute.. Now here's the problem, In Big Maps like all Cornfield Maps, its difficult to have gen pressures especially on killers who doesn't have any gen pressures like majority of the Killer.. So since Ruin has been nerfed, when will you Devs Nerf DS, DH and Andreline.. Oh not to mention the Keys too.. And yeah I play both survivor and killer but the only perk i use as a survivor is Borrowed to give the killer a fair game.. Playing Killer now is just frustrating as ever.. So when will you fix this issue? Or will you even read and reply on this topic?

Wait. You get your 2 to 4 kills and you are still complaining? Oof.

Just because 2 or 3 gens are done in less than 3 minutes, it doesn't mean the game is over. You simple need to play a little bit more strategic. Force them to the weak side with many generators, let them use all the ressources and snack them. I rarely used Ruin, so I never really had the problem. DH is easy to outplay and DS is useless if you don't tunnel. I slug them if they play cocky. This way I get most of time another survivor downed.

Just don't get stressed out or frustrated.

  • @RobMeister88 said:

And even survivors are being screwed from this update. In red ranks queue times are getting higher from lack of high rank killers willing to play. I can practically play a whole Breaking Benjamin album with how high these queue times are. Now I wish I was back in green ranks.

Thank you for your comments. It feels good to see that someone else has the same view of point.

I feel bad for most of the killer, that needee hex:ruin. I personally don't need ruin, but that doesn't mean that other people didnt need it. I know that many are simply not good enough, but that is because they are not experienced. And that is the problem, that BHVR kinda forgets. They use this argument for survivors and they balance around this. But what is with half experienced killers? Or what is with the bad matchmaking?

But lets be honest. If we would have a fair matchmaking, many players would cry bcs they face sweaty people.

  • @RobMeister88 said:

Remember Patch 1.9.2.? I'm pretty sure it left a bad (and that's putting it lightly) impression on the Devs' ability to actually balance the game. We're honestly probably heading back to Patch 1.9.2. The signs are all there:

-Freddy and Oni nerfs based on survivors' lack of skill and inability to counter them.

-Spirit and Nurse nerfs, same thing with Freddy and Oni

    -Almost lunar event time

Sure people can cope but ffs, these killer nerfs are not necessary, they aren't. There is no logical point to nerfing killers. Yes survivors get nerfed as well but rarely so, their nerfs pale in comparison to killer nerfs. Literally no sane person asked for a ruin nerf, so I don't know why so many people are agreeing with it. Everyone, and I mean everyone accepted ruin for what it was, especially at red and purple ranks (even green). It had plenty of counterplay and I'll explain it.

    Perks:

    • Stake Out, Prove Thyself, Technician, Small Game, Detective's Hunch, This Is Not Happening, and Spine Chill.

    RNG:

    • People literally spawned with ruin in their line of sight

    Items:

    • Toolboxes, all of which have different repair speeds, and then two speed add-ons.

    The Mechanics Themselves:

    • Depending on the position of the gen, multiple people can work on a single generator. Regular repair time for one person to repair a gen (without any perks or toolboxes) is 80 seconds. With two people, it's 44 seconds. Now imagine those two people with toolboxes, and perks meant to speed up gen progression.

There was so much counterplay to ruin it was ridiculous. So all these people agreeing with ruin changes are only doing so because they blindly believe everything that the Devs do is right. No one agreeing with the ruin change did so on their own ability to think on their own and come up with their own conclusion, it's just "Devs good guys" or "Devs perfect how dare you use logic".

New ruin is decent at best, or more accurately, would be decent if it wasn't a hex. Ruin supposedly affects all gens that are not being worked on. This would, in theory, reward gen pressure, the problem is, in practice, it only works on potatoes. Everyone knows about the infamous baby megs that always fail skill checks and then proceed to sprint burst across the map and hide in a jungle gym. They also do the same when they barely even hear the terror radius. So new ruin would be decent in boosted ranks (such as green ranks). Now what about red ranks? Tell me, does anyone expect rank 1 survivors like me, to stop dedicating myself to a gen when not necessary? Unless you initiate a chase, red rank survivors aren't going to stop doing that gen. Not to mention that new ruin is even more counterable by swf. "Hey the killer is chasing me take care of my gen". The new ruin literally depends on survivors being incompetent. With old ruin it would affect the gen progression at all times, it didn't completely rely on survivors being potatoes or being incompetent. Oh and remember all the counter play I mentioned that was available to old ruin? It still applies to new ruin, and now the counter play is even buffed. Without ruin, great skill checks grant 5% bonus progression. Red rank survivors are like the Special Forces of survivors, great skill checks are nothing but a walk in the park. Say a survivor hits 10 great skill checks in a row, and keep in mind that each great is a 5% bonus. What's 5x10? 50. 10 great skill checks is 50% bonus progression without ruin. Now Stakeout is even stronger, because with 3 tokens, that's a free 15% bonus progression, as new ruin no longer affects skill checks. But let's just play the Devil's advocate and put faith into the Devs' balancing wisdom. But hey! It'll be very useful in the late game, amirite or amirite?

I completely agree with you about Hex:Ruin, RNG, Toolboxes etc. But I don't agree that Freddy's Add-on, PTB Oni and Spirit were okay. BUT they weren't the only problems. Toolboxes are way too strong. And the chance to get one in s trial is pretty high, so you can not prepare. RNG is way too weird and maps are sometimes too big.

Besided that, I apology for missing the point myself. Didn't expect them to balance nothing.

But just a quick reminder that both sides are at some point annoyingly strong or weak. I hate it when people bash on one side without trying to understand anyone or anything.

  • I think that is not 100% right. They change some stuff after the ptb like for an example spirit or oni.

But you're right, as a survivor main I can see the survivor bias too. And it kinda shooked me, because they didn't lose a word about how killers felt about the old ruin. Like why it was meta etc.

But on the other side, some need to calm down. I really hope that they changed the ptb ruin in a good way. It was okay, but way too bad for what it should do.

Ruin was meta for many slow killers or killers without map pressure. Maps are way too big most of the time.

  • @Spooky13 said:

Started picking up Clown in preparation for his new Mr. Puddles cosmetic and honestly, I expected to get utterly thrashed, but found myself doing better than expected. I never realized how much survivors respect the gas clouds, even if their effect is negligible. At purple ranks I've been doing pretty well, getting a 2K or a 3K usually. Of course there are those times when I get destroyed, and yeah, it sucks, but I move on to the next game. Even with PGTW as my only slowdown perk, gens are pumped out slower than expected. Clown is really underrated.

I don't want to destroy your experience, but please don't forget that our ranking system / matchmaking is broken. I play as a rank 1 killer often against purple ranks with one or two rank 20-16.

And the reason why clown is "underrated" is, because he can just slow you down (if we ignore the vision thing). That is litterely one of freddys power. No Map Pressure, nothing strong against loops, because he has just 4 bottles and needs to reload it. Many, many killers have way more potential as clown, what is sad. Of course you can play well with him, but that doesn't change the fact, that his power is more than underwhelming etc.

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 12
