    Feels like Nemesis to me.

What's the problem? Nemesis was always scarier when you were fighting him 1 to 1 in a closed area, not when he was stumbling around with a stupidly large rocket launcher.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2256403#Comment_2256403

I agree on the remake design being trash. Hope we get a legendary for old Nem or something.

When you fought the 1999 Nemesis, dude was a bullet sponge withstanding massive amounts of damage even with a grenade launcher in hand, the new Nemesis goes down with one grenade but, I'm guessing that's just a normal difficulty thing .

He does not feel like Nemesis I haven't played the ptb, but from the videos, I've seen it's pretty sad to watch he doesn't feel invincible pallets shouldn't be a thing to him and when he kicks a generator survivors shouldn't be able to work on them for a few seconds, maybe like 20 secs ,he should be able to just punch out breakable walls.I don't care about him having the rocket launcher that's not a big deal

If they we're to add it it should spawn or drop in next to you ,when all generator's are done.

It's just himself is the problem after getting an original Silent Hill chapter, do you think fans want a remake Re3 chapter ,no but Bhvr wanted to do this for there community and ,I get it but like ,I said they should have held out to get and actual Re Nemesis chapter.

I cannot make this anymore clearer because it would just be rinse and repeat, but we wanted The Purser not a Nemesis

As much as I think he's fun he still simply is not Nemesis and I probably won't stop until something is done about it which I doubt something ever will because I'm just 1 person. Resident Evil means a lot to me. Its the game franchise that I talk most about. I play it the most. Nemesis means a lot to me. I have been playing with these characters for years. This is the biggest horror game franchise ever made. Why can't we get Nemesis to feel like Nemesis? Is it because he would be OP? Nope. Is it because it wouldn't fit? Nope. I keep getting told DBD isn't RE but the problem is the things that make Nemesis feel like Nemesis are things that DBD has done over and over. We've had running ability killers. We've had very lethal power burst killers. Why isn't Nemesis one of those? He just feels like a generic DBD killer when he could be that AND feel like Nemesis. I feel like I'm playing a slightly better Mr. X who is basically a severely weaker version of Nemesis in a way. What is this? Its sad at how poorly one of my favorite videos game villains has been demolished this and last year and this is by far the worst version of him. He feels more like Nemesis in even RE Verse. I will probably end up playing that game more than DBD because of how poorly he was executed. You guys said you don't wanna transform killers into something they are not. Where did that go? Nemesis is supposed to be lethal, fast, and very destructive. In DBD he's not any of that. The zombies sure as hell are lethal though. The best part of him in the game has NOTHING to do with Nemesis. And why does he just feel like diet Pyramid Head with his tentacle? It was a horrible job and I hope the devs can give a better feel of what it is to face or become THE Nemesis. Not A Nemesis. I'm probably just gonna end up playing REsistance over this game like I have already been doing. How was everything except the map and Nemesis on this chapter good? Lets talk about the map for a second. Everything is great EXCEPT for those weird mutation bubble things. WHAT ARE THOSE!? Why are they there? They ruin the beautiful look for me sometimes. Its random. People tell me its the entities stuff but it just looks like some sort of RE mutation but my biggest question is WHY THIS MAP ONLY!? Why is the RE map corrupted like this? Every other map doesn't have anything like this at all. It just falls flat and is really random and takes a lot away from a huge RE fan such as myself. Idk what can be done anymore but at least give Nemesis his running ability please. You have a standard speed walking animation already in the game. I would talk about Nemesis' skin color and shape of his face because that was messed up as well but just give me his running at the bare minimum.

The problem lies with the Nemesis not being the original version,of himself. If it we're Nemesis from 1999 the character would be able to break into small sprints and punch

Personally they should have waited with this chapter, if Capcom didn't want to give them the original they could have declined, but with the 25th anniversary, they probably we're in a time crunch

Capcom really screwed us over and alot of fan's but the introduction of the remake Nemesis, and never released a statement as to why the design had changed.Given the recent flak the recieving, I would guess the design was from someone else and that can't use it ,but I don't understand why the moveset changed also they could have kept that at least the same, but all of this literally will still fall back on Capcom, because you know Bhvr wanted OG Nemesis, I said I would buy the chapter but I don't think, I will because I am also a Resident Evil fan and this isn't what Resident Evil chapter should be, with the survivor perks being a middle finger to all killer mains there's nothing in this chapter, I want.

Overall Bhvr could have done better with Nemesis given how short his legs look he looks terrible

And it doesn't make sense to buy a Chapter for something that I can't even play, because of all the latency issues.

  • @Friendly117 said:

I'm MOST LIKELY going to get told that I'm dumb and I should get good because apparently that's all some of the killer mains can come up with in the English vocabulary. But enough banter. Here is my idea.

Idea: Turn off RNG for pallets only.

Result: Gets rid of empty spaces/dead zones. Both teams get to know where all the pallets are and can determine how to play around it. Gives a great learning curve for both teams to know the map more. Survivors can have a more enjoyable experience (Mainly pointing that towards those that just come back or are new to the game).

Can you be more descriptive about this. You say get rid of empty spaces ?I'm actually pretty stupid, so I want to understand this better.

  • @Frontdoor6 said:

I was thinking you build up the power and then you can use the rocket launcher, but you only have one shot each time you get it, and hitting a survivor with it puts them in the dying state. Op, maybe, but Oni, Leatherface and Hillbilly have similar stuff.

Or maybe you need to find the rocket launcher in order to use it, like you start the match without it and somewhere in the map there's a large case with the launcher inside. You only get one shot with each rocket launcher and you have to wait a few minutes before another case spawns.

    What are your ideas?

I would have it as an end game weapon, when the generator are all done then it drops in near you or spawns in near you.It would have 3 shots that instantly puts survivors into the dying state.

  • I've changed my internet plan in hopes that the lagging and freezes stop but sadly it hasn't. I even stop playing crossplay to weather the optimization hasn't help,I had one good game with barely to know lag,but the next game I was in I got frozen then kicked resulting in a 28 minute ban ,so it's clear the game is unplayable currently for me.

I'm under the impression that we are on dedicated servers so, I'm not sure if the problem is on our end.I do believe that this just another cyberattack because our internet provider says we lost over a hundred packages, and that's not supposed to happen. This maybe the reason why they haven't spoken out yet and why their implementing an automated ban system.

Hello Guys, i see a lot of people complaining about the community of DBD. We make fun this community a lot for beeing toxic and talking trash in chat after the game. Sometimes wars between communities and Streamers doing some dumb stuff, like what is currently going on between two content creators, shed a bad light on this community. I get a lot of hate comments as a killer. I have to delete comments from my steam profile on a regular basis, even though i try my best to never tunnel or camp and i NEVER use Noed. I am not suggesting that all these things are always bad, but they are causing the most hateful comments.

We have seen nonsense like the Claudette-Face Bubba thing on Reddit and we tend to think "man this community sucks".

I just want to say that in my opinion and experience the DBD community is not worse than others. ACTUALLY i cannot remember the last time i got to know so many great people by just playing a game. This community is incredibly diverse when it comes to its content creators and the people playing the game. The game itself does a lot to achieve this too! For every game you get facecamped by Bubba there is a game, where the killer gives you the hatch. For every game you get tunneled, or people dc, there are games where you can just do dumb spontanous stuff with the Killer. I see people who never met each other before, working with each other to finish the archive challenges. There are so many moments where people are just beeing wholesome without anything or anyone forcing them to be. All the Toxicity that of course does exist in this game, can be seen in other popular games too. In german the word "Zeitgeist" describes the Mentalitiy of a society in a specific time. I just believe that right now, due to MANY MANY reasons the Zeitgeist right now is becoming toxic overall. Its not this games fault. Humankind was not ready for the Internet.

Please do not forget the powerful wholesome side of this game. The very reason why so many people still are playing it even though its an arguably flawed game. I would like us to embrace this side of our Community more, when talking about DBD. I just cannot stand the self loathing some people do.

Use the Noed to you're advantage my friend, don't allow survivors to pull the wool over you're eyes.

I started to pick up killer mainly to do the tome challenges and to farm for BP when I'm done playing as survivor. But I have no idea how to let survivors know I wanna farm with them.

I know with ghostface to just teabag a lot and with hag & demo to use their traps/portals as a sign, but what for the other killers?

Any tips are welcome for this! And same goes for as survivor to let the killer know you wanna farm or befriend them.

Chase a survivors and but don't attack them eventually they'll stop ,and give you a little T-bag then, standing back slash at the air, this is the all time indication to let's farm but you have to give them the 1st pallet stun

This is NOT a question to the community, I don't care why you think tunneling, camping and slugging and generally skill-deprieved scummy playing are 'sometimes necessary' (because you made it abundantly clear it's cause you can't stand the idea of losing A GAME. or better the idea of not winning it in the most humiliating way for your opponents).

I'd like to know if the devs have yet been able to NAME one of the ominous occasions in which that crap is 'necessary'.

    Objectively necessary.

So no whining about not wanting to depip, no whining about losing a match, no nothing. And objective, justified reason that would make it 'necessary'

it abundantly clear it's cause you can't stand the idea of losing A GAME. or better the idea of not winning it

hey wouldn't this also apply to you

  • License legacy 😉 too! Some of are dedicated to those character's. Imagining seeing a legacy Michael Myers in the blue drip

  • Probably because of the ping was so bad today

  • That's also my point, people who lost them can try to earn them back. It's not fair that there are players who have these unique items such as Legacy and DG Meg mask ,and the H20 mask without having a chance to earn them also

It's not fair to player's who play the game for 8 hours a day and don't earn any incentives,we should get something for our time.

It's not the same thing. Just a cool cosmetic.

Not to mention the fact that some people like me LOST theirs, and are never getting it back. As long as they make it hard to earn, I see no problems with this.

No, that isn't what I'm saying, playing against Deathslinger is more or less a 50/50.

    The survivor has 2 options:

Try and preemptively dodge his shot seeing as the harpoon is so fast that you cannot react to it, ultimately allowing him to catch up to you faster if he doesn't shoot

Or call the killer's bluff and just run in a straight line

Whichever choice you make, you're still thinking about what you're doing, you literally just have to guess which choice the Deathslinger is going to make.

Don't put words in my mouth.

Is that not what you ultimately have to do against all killer's though. If Deathslinger is firing his weapon most likely he's at least 10 meters away from you ,so theoretically aren't you enough distance to either loop a wall or a pallet, and so what if you have to use a little energy to move to the side of the shot.

So how fast should a harpoon fire ,from a high powered rifle? How and why would they slow it down then the add-ons and just firing the damn thing would make no sense at all.

That's what all chases should be 50/50 either you're skill outweighs the opponent or not.

I didn't also put any words in you're mouth, I asked a question to what you said.

  • Yeah maybe, but from the demonstrations it doesn't seem like it would be that big of a deal. The only looping problem the blight has imo is trying to blight around a loop. I could understand where the height issue play in.

  • @Hellbughunter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/255172/what-do-you-think-about-a-chucky-dlc

Given his hight playing him would be one of the most miserable experience in game. I had problems looping when Blights camera was lower then now. And now lower that camera to the hight of a doll.

But in all honesty do you play every killer in the game,I'm guessing probably not.

  • @indieeden7 said:

A lot of stronger killers aren't disliked due to their strength, it's due to certain aspects of their power that are seen as unfun to play against.

    For example:

Spirit - Gives 0 information as to what she is actually doing while seemingly standing still

Nurse - Ignores every defence survivors have

Old Freddy - Passively ignored certain perks, had both pressure in chase and map pressure

Hag - Traps require survivors to waste time in order to avoid activating them (crouching) and can potentially end a chase due to the camera shift mechanic

    Huntress - Hitboxes

This even applies to weaker killers

Deathslinger - ADS causes survivors to lose distance on killer or get shot, they have to guess what the killer will do

Clown - Forces early pallet drops

Trapper - Survivors can be forced to guess where traps have been placed or disarmed

At the end of the day, very few people want killers to be weak, it's just that a lot of people find certain aspects of killers boring or unfun to play against. This is also completely subjective, someone who loves playing against Nurse might hate playing against Spirit, whereas another person may love playing against Hag but hate playing against Nurse.

Don't push the narrative that all survivors want killers nerfed into the ground because it simply isn't true.

they have to guess what the killer will do

so survivors don't want to think about ######### ?

  • lol yeah ,I jumped the gun there. I'm just so use to seeing the complaints. I guess I have PTSD from it.

Okay first off Camping, slugging, tunneling, etc are all forms of killings okay, toxic or not - Agreed. Then Devs ask you to display good sportsmanship. If killers are allowed to do that how is that good sportsmanship? Gamers will say use defensive strike or borrowed time, get better, etc. That is not the point killers are allowed to use un-sportmen like conduct. If this "WAS" a sport where is the sportsmanship's conduct in camping, tunneling, slugging. You get hit, get knocked down, hooked, camped, unhooked, tunneled, hit again, borrowed time, tunneled, hit again downed, defensive strike, tunneled, downed again, and re-hooked. Repeat dead. Where is the sportsman like conduct? Yeah the killer could loose the game that way. Was it thrown for just chasing one person? If a survivor chooses not to participate in that style/formate of a game they are unsportsmanlike. (?) Killers don't have to show good conduct just players? Where does the code of conduct lay? You play 5 random games, all similar in format, is that fun? To me no. We just have to wait for one decent killer out of X# of tries?

In regard to the killer this is sportsmanship, you can't beat a well coordinated team with out slugging or applying pressure to survivors. Survivors have all the tools they need to escape plus all the time needed to be frank,by mid game a killer is left with two perks his power and add-ons.Surviviors have 4 teammates running the same perks which the killer has to catch and hook 4 people 12 times.

Consider crossplay with more Optima processing, ginormous lagg spikes and large terrain to cover ,I would say all of it is more than fair anyway most killer's play fair for the most part or what survivors consider fair, but with the time you have, I would say all the above is more than ,fair you would be lucky if the killer camps and tunnel you

Some teams show good sportsmanship by giving the killer time to get a few hooks before the game is over because they know it's in there favor.

tbf, some maps can generate some really huge deadzones which should certainly be fixed. Deadzones are good as a map filled with interconnecting tiles is not balanced. But then you get things like Pale Rose where the entire area between the ships and dock is nothing.

I guess it's find for survivors to run into dead zones to create time for teammates, but if they can beat you in the dead zone, nerf is eminent for that killer go figure

The trend is just hate against the Deathslinger.

"He's miserable to play against, annoying, boring, etc."

I find it really enjoyable to go up against a Deathslinger and play as him.

But, the main thing is about going up against them, so I'm a rank 6 survivor at the moment, it's not red ranks, but I think that's still a decent level to talk about this killer with some experience. I can loop perfectly fine, I know the best routes to take, how to counter most killer's powers, all that good stuff. Plus, in addition. I am also a killer main that has pumped a lot of time into each killer so I also know how they feel and act.

But, on youtube, I just see so much hate against Deathslinger because he's "miserable" to play against. Which... is why? Because of how fast the projectile is? I suppose that's a fair reason, but he also fundamentally changes how survivors should run loops and the likes. I only find one other killer who can do that on a fundamental level such as him and that's Nurse. Excluding things that make a loop null, such as Trapper. Slow down killers could technically be on list as well, but it's a showdown while Deathslinger completely forces you to rethink loops.

Personally, I think the most boring and miserable killer to go up against is Spirit. She's obnoxious. I'm not turning this into a "I hate Spirit, so let's nerf her" post. I'm just said that Spirit feels much more boring to play as and go up against.

Especially with her just standing still at a loop and "mind game" a survivor to run away from a safe loop or run towards her or challenge it.

I dunno, personally that's just me, but I love going up against a good Deathslinger. What about you?

They must send yawl to do this right?

DBD has come a long way in it's game development. Not that it's the first Asymmetrical game to come around... But this game gets a lot of heat when it actually does very very well all things considered. Now that we have Nemesis and along with his hero power bringing Zombies onto any map he enters it opens up lots of doors for BHVR. I doubt Nemesis will be the only killer to have a power like this going forward. I can see some other unique killers have similar powers. For the first time we have AI in DBD. What do yawl see coming our way in terms of this change?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/227849/stop-saying-nerf-spirit

The situation is not about Spirit herself being way too powerful, but her ability have a significant lack of meaningful counter-play.

    • Hillbilly can go across the map yet has little horizontal control over his direction, allowing survivors to kite him
    • Nurse has her blink cooldown and the 'cough' that occurs following her blink attacks
    • Freddy's counter-play let's survivors avoid most of his power entirely by letting them wake up.

I could name off more examples but Spirit has none of this. It is impossible to tell where she could be when using her ability and the only counter she currently has is Iron-Will, which is negated by Stridor.

Spirit should have an auditory or intermittent visual queue that could tell survivors where she's going and she would instantly become much less frustrating to deal with.

I guess Spirit beat you ,and now you want her nerfed because why do we need any strong killer's in the game?

  • @miketheratguy said:

The Trapper's cool, I think he's an underrated killer. I've seen people use him very deviously, very intelligently, and very successfully.

But he's no Jason. Jason is literally a living, unkillable zombie (well, MAYBE. That's definitely a topic for another thread). A little deformed boy left to drown by hedonistic teenagers. He somehow grew to have the brute force of a bull and paranormal abilities that allow him to basically never die no matter the circumstances to the point that in a few hundred years he's going to be studied by space labs.

He's brutal. He doesn't even need his machete. He can crush your skull with his bare hands. He's fast. He's impervious to pain, drowning, anything you can throw at him. His only weakness is Final Girls, who somehow manage to inflict the blow that can take him down.

And Corey Feldman. But come on, Corey Feldman ruled us all in the 80s.

Apparently Pamela used the Necronomicon, not sure if it's canon?

  • I would say there's two different fan bases of this game. There's people who really love the original characters and there's people who really love the license content ,as for me it's a mixture of both when,I first started playing I don't think they had one license chapter but possibly. I know I didn't purchase Michael Myers for months, I fell in love with the atmosphere of the game and main Huntress for along time, I'm not saying that she isn't my main also i, just don't play with her as much anymore.I was at least a half of year maybe 4 or 5 months before,I brought Michael Myers ,but I'm excited for more license content because this pretty much sums up our generational legends that we grew up with and Behaviour for the most part does damn great work with the models and personification of the characters.

  • @OmegaXII said:

I'm interested. However, I'm not buying it on release.

They already said that they'll make balance decisions again 3 months later. So this basically means it is unfinished product, not finalized. I don't want to spend the money like this.

Besides that, map looks really great, in terms of graphic. It really resembles the police station in RE2. However, gameplay-wise, it's not that great to be honest

I'm still going to buy the chapter, unlike Konami, Capcom at least provided content and never screwed there employees over and gave us some of the most beloved titles. Dino Crisis, Devil May Cry ,Resident Evil which they reinvented there series.

  • It sucks all the way around, then some killer would stand there and just camp the hatch and grab you everytime. How would they even change the hatch to be actually fair for everyone

  • @miketheratguy said:

Maybe have the game run a check that sees that the person did literally NOTHING all match but wander around hiding, not doing gens, not cleansing hexes, not doing saves, not doing ANYTHING, only to let the last two or three people die so they could look for and / or camp the hatch?

I didn't used to see this very often but it's happened literally four times today, now twice in a row, and it's really starting to piss me off. If someone is literally contributing nothing to the match, and in fact acting as a deliberate detriment to it, I would be very happy to see this kind of behavior dealt with.

One match it's four of us versus Michael on Crotus Prenn. I start to notice that by the first death it's the same three of us running across each other, healing and saving and trying to do gens. Then it's down to me and one other person plus the mystery player. Then he dies. Then I die. Lo and behold, I spectate and they're just hiding behind trees waiting for the hatch. Thanks Cheryl. Next it's the FIRST time I've seen the Thompson House in weeks, but I can hardly enjoy it because I and two others are the only ones actually moving around and accomplishing anything. It gets down to me, again, and sure enough, after I die I have half a second to spectate before the final person runs from behind a rock or some crap and jumps into the hatch.

Honestly if this becomes a habit I'd be happy to see the hatch eliminated altogether. I'm rapidly becoming fed up with players who are just cowards and screw everyone else the whole game. Why even play?

There use to be a grabbing mechanic, but I guess trolling is priority number one

  • Freddy is taboo, and in the realm of The Entity there all adults, so don't be so judgmental
