I don't see the point of increasing the time. If you loop a killer for the current duration of 60 seconds yall already won the game unless your team was total potatoes. A Killer can't commit even remotely close to 60 seconds on a single chase and hope to win the game against good survivors.
Tbh I agree but if you don't give survs a buff alongside a nerf Devs don't listen and hell breaks lose with survivor mains.

I think funny skins are really cool and the contrast makes an interesting combination. However I do have to say I don't get why people like Mr. Puddles; to me he looks very unoriginal and predictable. I was super disappointed when they announced it as the winner, especially considering how cool the winner Feng Min cosmetic is.

Why is it that sounds always get messed up every single patch and they haven't been fixed for over a year now? What's the root of the issue and what are your plans to tackle this?

I’m aware he’s not entirely invisible. But I’m telling you, in most cases, he’s invisible enough to make it too much. That’s a really bad counter argument by the way 😂 What else? The fact that he has a “delay” when he uncloaks? 😂😂😂😂 nonsense. I’ve played him and heard from other people that have played him that there’s something that allows him to uncloak and strike faster. Thats too much 😂 I can’t believe you guys defend this with every last breath because you want it the way it is. Who cares what everyone else thinks right
"Who cares what anybody else thinks right?"
Bruh like 6 different people have come up to show you how damn delusional and bad at the game you are and you ain't listening I think it's you who doesn't know what people think.
Jesus christ so sad how this game has come to the ######### state it's in because of people like you.
-
I don't know if a chase is a good way of ending it though. Getting a hit sounds a bit more unfair but think about it, how many times have you started a chase without even seeing the survivor on screen?
This mechanic makes it way too easy for survivors to bypass the initial phase and doesn't really do anything at all to fix the real issue.

They kinda already have this with gen placement anyway. Some gens only support 1 survivor, some only support 2 survivors.
True and I agree that what Peanits said is a great step in the right direction. However this still allows 3 survivors to be on a different gen while the killer tries to chase them all at the same time.

Apparently swf squads can lmao. Good point
How come you keep missing the point over and over again?? Literally what everyone's been saying is SWF have the luxury of NOT playing perfectly and still win. Just this thread alone has like 4 different people saying the same thing yet you make no good points about why you think everything's fine and killers are powerful.
-
@Peanits said:
My only concern would be with the minimum number of survivors part. That sounds incredibly confusing, and like you said, would directly make SWF more powerful than solo survivors. There's no good way to convince someone that they should get off the generator they're on to come help me with some other generator that hasn't been touched yet, no matter how much I mash the button to tell them to follow me.
For what it's worth, the maximum number of survivors part is something that we've already started doing through some clever level design. These days, generators tend to have only one or two open spaces. You can see this on a map like Hawkins Lab, where the generator upstairs in the offices has only one open space, others (like the one closest to the portal) have limited space as well, sometimes spawning with only one open spot. There's even some baked into pallet loops, leaving only the two opposite sides accessible.
That's not to say that there should never be generators that four survivors can work on, but we're a lot more careful about them now.
Which is exactly why I specified that a hard change to breach the gap between SWF and solos needs to be addressed. It's not a problem if you can coordinate and actually work as a team instead of relying on guesswork and perks that put you at a disadvantage to have a chance.
You guys have said before Kindred wouldn't be base kit cause it gives away too much information yet for SWF teams it's absolutely free, no drawbacks, why are you so hesitant to improve the solo experience??
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Well otz's video just shows how much power killers have to me.
About your idea: sounds great, bring solos to swf level and make the game require more strategy for survivors 👍
It's more about how much survivors can mess up without really sacrificing anything. His longest chase in the entire match was 25 seconds, yet they got so close to finishing gens and escaping.
He messed up his chainsaws 3 or 4 times and 2 gens pop. Your conclusion just sounds extremely biased to me. If they had all been amazing at loops, juking and making him waste time I'd understand your perspective, but it obviously wasn't the case.
If a 3000 hour streamer struggled to win this game what can all of us mere mortals do when in that situation?
-
Personally I don't think that's the issue. Designers and visuals team have always been amazing, and if they're not making cosmetics they're really not doing much for a good portion of the year. However, the teams in charge of balance and gameplay have absolutely no clue about how their own game works and how people play it.
In regards to bugs and the like it's more that the code is a big messy blob and it's just way too much for them to handle, but I think at least they're trying.
-
I never use keys or moris, I never tbag or emote a killer and if the last surv doesn't wiggle I let them take hatch/open the exit gates.

@Waffleyumboy said:
I feel bad for op. Killers bully and harrass anyone who contradicts their threads but when some guy suggests a fair change to encourage more healthy and fun gameplay it gets shot down by the bias train.
As for the suggestion...this is great! To compensate, the amount of bp for hooking a survivor for the first time should increase slightly. As for gen rushing, maybe they could correspond gen points to time spent on the gen instead of charges added to it. Thanks for trying op, but there are a lot of whiners on the forums that haven't even tried playing without ruin.
I wonder if you'll ever add a meaningful OBJECTIVE comment to the discussion instead of just playing your victim role (amazingly btw) of "survivor life is so hard."
OP's idea is bad and people are calling him out for it, that's the end of it. When survivors have so many tools to counter killer strategies you can't keep punishing killers for doing the bare minimum to make the game enjoyable/stand a chance. Bad unhooks should be punished, and you can't force a killer to chase the strongest surv when there's a better option to gain the upper hand.
-
@TheBilldozer said:
Havent had any issues.
Looks like the only problem with the ruin rework is on the forums. This is non-peak play time, btw. January is already looking like it's going to be several thousand higher than Jan 2019.
You do understand 1 your personal experience doesn't really counter his argument since he at least bothered to get actual data and 2 your graph doesn't really show anything either right?
December 2018 could have had only 4000 players for instance but if they were on a proportional ratio (1:4) then it's fine. With Steam charts you have no way of telling what percentage of that playerbase is playing killer or survivor. There could be 7 million players but if killer/surv ratio is 20:1 then no one's really playing are they? You legit have no way of telling the health of the game with this.

I stick with my tunneling. It helps me out. So i dont care if i ruin somebody elses game. It not my fault that they want to take the game seriously. Its just a game. But i will play the way i want to play as a killer. And ne ways. Survivors keep forgetting. Its the killers match and not theres. Cuz the killer is the host and not the survivors. So the survivors really dont have the right to say ne thing at all
First of all it's not your match, and second of all wow there really are some entitled shits in this community. If you like tunneling, good for you, don't be an entitled brat and think just because you're the killer your fun is somehow more important than theirs.
Hopefully when you rank up, if you ever do, you'll understand there's people on both sides and this game will never be the best it can be until we understand that.
-
I agree with everything except Pharmacy (should be one tier higher imo) and swapping Sprint Burst for Dead Hard. The only reason DH wouldn't be considered the best exhaustion perk is because of dedicated servers, but both can be affected by server latency.
-
This.
It's just an uninteresting perk which isn't particularly OP, just massively unfun to see.

They are bad.
And we dont rely on others peole vids, can I upload a video as spirit where I get 0k and say she's weak?
Only 1 video (1 match) ?
And we can't take red rank as a argument tbh, any trash survivor/killer can make it there without any problem.
Saying spirit is fine is just bs, she isn't fine and everyone that play both sides (isn't BIASED) know it.
- The omega spirit build is still in game (stridor)... "uh oh, you have iron will? really bad cause I have stridor)
- You dont get info if she's phasing or not, which adds the incredible mindgame of standing still
And once again we can't take a bug as argument, sound issues will get fixed eventually.
First of all they are streamers, I NEVER said "oh yeah use this video" there are hundreds of hours of footage that can be analysed.
If you can't take red ranks as a sample then you can't take any ranks because just by basic logic red ranks have at least reached the "highest skill ceiling available." Wether they're stupid or not is of no consequence since everyone below them would obviously be "a worse player" or someone who dedicates less hours to the game.
1. She's the ######### killer, should ONE survivor perk trump a killer's ENTIRE POWER? Imagine the opposite situation "oops I have xyz so you can only catch me in traps that are placed next to windows sorry" or "I have xyz so hillbilly can only use his chainsaw when he's 15ft away from me."
2. I've played as many hours with survivor as I have with killer. Am I biased because my sense of balance lies different to yours? I know she's frustrating to vs to some people, but that's miles from her being unfair. I would rather vs a Spirit any day before Trapper, but I still know he's not unfair; do I have to be more careful with grassy areas, windows and sharp turns? Yes, is there a chance I'll just run into a random trap in the middle of nowhere? Sure, there's a gambling aspect to all killers, it's called a read and an educated guess on what your opponent MIGHT do.
3. She doesn't know where you are and with the nerf to her post face dash any type of erratic movement can cause her to waste her power and have to wait for it to recharge with 110% speed. The "incredible mindgame of standing still" works because people let it work. Why would you stay at that loop when there's a chance she's phasing?

Im not talking about if he's objective skilled etc...
He did a great video killing all of those spirit myths that are inconsistent.
No one wants to be looped for "Years" and no one wants to die in 10 seconds.
Simple as that.
Then how come Otz, Puppers or tru3ta1ent have videos on their channels looping Spirits for much MUCH longer than that? Is it that they always face bad killers even in red ranks?
The Spirit is more than fine after the changes and with the sound issues in this game I'd even say she's lost a massive portion of her power.
-
I would avoid the Clown at all costs.
He's the only killer that is just plain unfun to use in my opinion. No map pressure, barely any potential to end loops without really good addons, he's really got nothing going on for him except PGTW.
-
Almost never happens so I don't really care. I'll struggle for as long as I can if my teammates are on gens and if they're all swarming for the save I'll just kill myself.
-

Stop bringing this to the table, that doesn't work (rarely does)
I agree most of the "telltales" that she's phasing are not very noticeable but the problem is people don't understand that's the point. There's always ways in which you can minimise a Spirit's benefit from your actions but people refuse to play vs a killer which doesn't allow 3000+ hour survs to loop for ages.

Despite what some people will say, there is nothing in game, as a mechanic, that is toxic. No emote, item, addon, perk etc can be toxic. Anyone who says anything else is incorrect. What is and isn't toxic is also not up for debate, nor is it a matter of opinion. Toxic is an attitude. A state of mind. Just because someone doesn't like something, doesn't make that thing toxic.
Period.
"Everyone is wrong except me. Only what I say is toxic is actually toxic. Being toxic is just THIS one thing that only I approve. And everyone is wrong. Did I say I ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT TOXIC IS?"

you seem to act like everyone should be, since his match cant be taken seriouly since they werent using the perks every other drone does.
How old are you, 10? Just because you think you're special for not acknowledging how strong meta perks are doesn't make every high level player a drone.
I made a list of perks that good survivors who are playing TO WIN run in high ranks. With those builds I could win against that team and use it as an excuse that the Clown is an amazing killer and I completely decimated them.
-
It's been going on for ages. It's funny because it's always a "new issue with the audio occlusion" or whatever, but it's ALWAYS that things are much quieter, they're magically never louder; which imo says a lot about how intentional these "bugs" are.

Perks don’t make people bad. I never leave home without spine chill and can still give red rank killers a good run. (Also sometimes use sc)
True however they do change the outcome of the game. I'm not saying they were bad survivors but if you take the same situation, same surv, and change ONE perk it can greatly alter the outcome.
Quick example, a silent bell wraith hides in a corner to hit a surv healing. If they had sprint burst/dead hard they make it to a loop, if they don't they're downed and hooked. This has nothing to do with their skills since in this imaginary scenario it's the same person playing surv so same reflexes same everything; however just by design it would've been impossible for situation B to win this situation. This massively affects the outcome of the game since the surv that was running good perks managed to get maybe another gen or two by looping the killer for another 35 seconds, as a rough estimate.

I like him more than Billy TBH, i tried going back to billy but his straight lines are pretty meh. I like with Oni you don't need to dash to get the insta down. do xbox red ranks count -_-
Three red ranks with self care? Spine chill, Lone survivor, Urban evasion, NO decisive... These guys are boosted as heck. I'm sorry but this pic is pretty meaningless in the debate.
It's like using a pic of a 4 man escape vs a vanilla Spirit to say she's so bad it's hilarious.
-
Not trying to be a dick here but your teammates did everything right (except the flashlight Claudette) and if you didn't get out it was your own fault.
First of all, small game instead of DS for example is a terrible mistake. They gave you Borrowed time and tanked 2 hits for you, you wasted a third of your sprint burst running into the wraith, and finally you didn't use borrowed time to bait the killer while your other teammates opened the door.
This is my own opinion, but if you'd rather risk a meaningless Blood Warden instead of having to use ALL your resources intelligently RIGHT at the end of the match then you need to sort your priorities.
-
I don't think that's happening anytime soon but if they did they'd have to do something to separate both games since it could very easily become a CoD/FIFA situation in which it's essentially the same game with one or two changes.
Having said this I think it wouldn't be too bad to merge both of these games since as you said they excel at very different things. I think dbd could benefit from having less action sequences so a much scarier approach would be pretty great for a sequel.
-
Try watching how Monto plays him, he's a very good Oni.
Now, I've never played on console but it's crazy hard to get any value out of his dash hit so don't abuse it and try to use it as means to get from A to B instead.
And good luck haha.
-
New killer? Learning curve? His "new flick" is, ironically, a hard ceiling not a learning curve. And the limit of that ceiling is as per usual these days, the survivors you face.
I'm not saying he's the weakest killer but as Puppers often says, he's just a very ######### Hillbilly.
-
@vlyles221 said:
It wasn't like that. I recorded it on my Xbox clips. The last guy especially tried multiple times. He kept pushing the button and nothing. Just kept crouching. He ran over and dropped a pallet and went back to the hatch and still couldn't jump through. He went and finished off a gen that was nearby and tried again and still couldn't jump through. It wasn't until the killer was close by that he was able to jump through it.
Idk man 😂 sounds like just regular hatch BM to me ngl.
How can you tell he was actually pressing the button to go in the hatch?
-
It's terrible and it has received hate from the start but at the pace they're reworking maps we're gonna have to endure till 2021.
It's insanely big, corners are too isolated (so those 2 gens are basically gone from the start) it has a stupid amount of very strong structures (particularly jungle gyms and unmindgameable shorter loops) and on top of everything scratch marks are much more difficult to see than the average map.
-
That's... Uhh not really a counter to anything? Except insanely potato killers I suppose.
As they stand, there are zero counters to moris and they need to be looked at ASAP.
-
I like the sounds of it! An old school Holmes-like detective would be a really good addition (and a cool colleague to detective Tapp). Plus we haven't had a female killer since Plague so it makes sense. Wonder what her power would relate with how she seduces men, or maybe it's not even related at all?
-
@GamingHulk123 said:
But the community wouldn't let this unbalance go far. We all would say if it is too strong or too weak, and the devs would fix it. Its are job as a whole.
Oh boy if that were the case then we would no longer have Ironworks of Misery, Coldwind farm, unmindgameable pallets, keys, moris, etc.
I like your optimism but just no.
-
It would but it would greatly reduce the pool of survivors people use in high ranks and/or render killers completely useless and helpless to survivors.
If their abilities remove one perk slot then option A happens. If they have abilities AND STILL keep their 4 perk slots then both happen.
-
You sound a bit entitled saying people "shouldn't" be this way or doing that. If you have fun memeing and chasing survivors on Ironworks of Misery for hours then good for you; some people get their enjoyment from winning. Just accept not everyone plays the way you do, easy as that.

1) there still will be limited pattern of charms you can get as it required artists to draw them unless they do procedural generated charms. But then again, why so special about that?
2) Not sure have you play mobiles games with gatcha system. Lootbox, in my eyes, is just a system that try to trick people into spending arbitrary amount of money to may or may not get something you want, kind of like gamble at time. I, for one do not like it very much as I am currently playing one such game and do tire of other people drawing the rare card in the first 10 draws and sometime even multiple, but I have to spend so much money just to get 1 rare card.
Yeah I totally get it's not for everyone, but to me it's exciting and I don't mind grinding to get one rare charm/card every 20 uncommons. It just feels more unique instead of everyone getting the same stuff.
-
Lmaoooo bro you're far too early
April fools is in 3 months!
-
Naaah probs never again. Rewards felt very lackluster (I didn't even notice whenever I got something new from ranking up) and personally I don't like that everyone gets the same rewards.
I know it's never gonna happen (maybe) but I would much prefer the lootbox approach with charms, otherwise everyone has the same charms and they lose all value to me.
-
She definitely needs SOMETHING. As things are there is only a handful of maps she can work with and they're mostly maps with very poor map design (farm maps, some versions of autohaven, crotus prenn).
I think it's about time she becomes a 115% killer, especially with how slow she moves while charging hatchets and how damn LOUD she likes to hum that lullaby.
-
Aw man I'd love to see an actual Sadako type girl. The Ring is probably my favourite horror film and having someone like Samara in the American version would be amazing. When she gets pallet stunned she could maybe glitch out a bit as if struck by TV static. I would want her to be much more spooky and less aggressive than the Spirit, so she would probably float like the Nurse and have her face covered most of the time.
Bughuul from the movie Sinister would be my second favourite addition, I love the appearance of that guy and he could have some sort of traps with his sigils and another power on top of that.

Nope, still incorrect, the plague forever build tbh doesn't have sloppy, that's a misspell from me tbh, sorry
Second, overcharge and pop synergize great with mobile killers(sorry if I didn't add it sooner)
Third dying light. It doesn't it is just a great addition on the forever Freddy build imo.
The list indeed goes on and on and on,tho you can't say that I'm incorrect,my points are reasonable. I do have a sense of what is going on with the game and I have gotten gen rushed tons of times, tho I have a temper and I realize that this is just how the game was meant to be. Toolboxes are strong, maps are long and teamwork is key in order to survive as a survivor. Still my opinion but hey,I have a point right?
Thanks for the civil debate. I still disagree with most of your points but it's nice to see someone actually willing to have a conversation on the matter.
In my opinion none of these pros outweigh the cons/flaws of these perks but if you enjoy them, more power to you my dude.
Happy new year.
-
I would remove self care, I avoid it at all costs if I can no matter what type of build I'm going for. You're much better off running botany and a medkit if that's what you're after.
For exhaustion perks I prefer Dead hard and sprint burst by a mile but BL is good; and instead of SC I think We'll make it or adrenaline are great options!
My personal recommendation would be DS, BT, (exhaustion perk) and We'll Make it or Adrenaline.

See comment directly in top of yours...
I did but it's useless even attempting to list the dozens of reasons why you're wrong but here's a few:
- Why would you run sloppy with Plague when survs will just cleanse if they wanna heal?
- How does dying light help with early gens when you need at least 3~ hooks to get any benefit PLUS it buffs the obsession?
- So overcharge applying a minimal regression at the expense of you having to travel to the gen and kick it is worth it and helpful when survs are on multiple gens/early game?
The list goes oooon and on and on but what this tells me is you have little understanding of what people mean when they say gens go too fast.
-
The nurse was balanced just because in high ranks (where all the good nurses were) they faced good survivors, and the nurses that were still learning were facing weaker survs in the low ranks.
However many survivors complained they didn't have fun playing vs nurse since they couldn't just loop and loop for ages like with every other killer, so they managed to get her nerfed.
Survivor fun trumps killer fun from what we've seen so now they no longer have to face her at the expense of the experience of everyone who enjoyed using her.
-
Sooo... You just listed a bunch of useless perks along with three good perks... To support your point?? I guess??
Well thanks for the valuable input, none of those solve the issue you're trying to invalidate but ok.
