Winning the game is toxic? Fascinating.

I'd say neutral in most cases, as you get to the higher skill ceiling, I'd say she's working as intended and very fun to play / play against.

I liked the moonlight offerings too but I do have some sympathy with the devs here.
If SWF's were bringing Darkest Moonlight, Thickest Mist and some offering for an already Dark Map then killers would be complaining all day about it.
As if they don't complain enough as it is, lmao
-
@ABannedCat said:
As far as I gathered moonlight offerings were disabled (not removed, because spaghetti code) because they didn't want to balance all maps with every possible offering combination in mind. Basically like old Tinkerer, where they gave up on an interesting game concept, in order to free up manpower to pump out rushed chapters faster.
Oh thats a good point, I completely forgot about Tinkerer!

According to the cinematic trailer, which was sent to the Fog Whisperers to livestream in advance of the release. I just watched it on Paulie Esther's channel, so here's my evidence for the titular claim: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kxlZT9tJIM
Also, for those of you who did watch the trailer... thoughts?
EDIT: It has apparently just been confirmed that the patch will arrive at 11AM ET today, also on Paulie's stream.
This news makes me chafe against my zipper.

It's actually more complex than you'd think, there are thousand of players, even high ranks who don't know how the emblem sistem works, what Luck is about, what is a bannable offense or a reportable offense, how much time a gen takes to be done depending on the amount of people on it,
Newbies have to learn what I just said plus an inmense amount of perks, perk combos, what statuses are (exhaustion, etc.), maps, what totems are, specific survivors and killers abilities, should I continue? Being able to "run" doesn't mean you know how to loop, being able to repair doesn't mean you know how to do perfect skillchecks, being able to drop a pallet doesn't mean they learnt how to actually stun a killer or when to or not drop a pallet, damn, THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF RED RANK WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO BLIND THE KILLER WITH A LANTERN.
Don't get me wrong, I believe veterans are as important as new players, my issue is with you saying this is not a complex game, if you think doing gens, openning gates is all there is... Damn I hope you're not a purple or red rank...
Agreed. Like I said before, easy to pick up; difficult to master.

Because charms do absolutely nothing for me. I just see it as filler for the stuff that actually looks good. Seem to be more interested in making a quick buck than they are about fixing the endless list of problems.
Ahh so you won't spend money on the rift because of the charms? Why don't you submit your application for employment so that you can assist in the fixing of the issues you believe exist?

@Dustin said:
If BHVR wants to keep new players in the game they should really improve the new player experience.
- A fully fleshed out tutorial
- Less of a grind starting out
- Features that reduce griefing - Ex) AFK crows for killers so their collision disappears to prevent hostage situations, cooldown on mori to prevent mori spam since it's for some reason reportable and an actual chat filter for those who don't want to see slurs in chat.
- Replace the shrine with a perk market that prices perks based on how old they are. This would benefit everyone but would be more appealing to new players rather than waiting a week for a perk.
These are excluding matchmaking issues which admittedly you can't control unless you have a proper amount of players at each rank. Only way they fix that is if they get a surge of players and actually keep them.
So have you not reviewed the steam charts recently? Year over year, month over month, their player base is increasing.
Their viewership on Twitch is also regularly in the top ten.
So when you say things like "IF BHVR WANTS TO KEEP PLAYERS" - you're being hyperbolic and are speaking against the data.
What you're MEANING to say is: If BHVR wants to keep YOU in the game, they should meet YOUR specific listed demands. At least be honest about it.

It is if you spend some $$$ but i'm positive that was never the intention ;)
Why wouldn't you spend money on a game you play routinely?

So basically, you don't like survivors beating you and you want additional training wheels added on?

Ahhhhhh cant wait. Tomorrow is official release! Yee. Haw.

And you will be there to ignore the problem and continue to eat up whatever the devs spoon feed you.
You're still here, complaining.
Who's the REAL loser in the exchange?
Big yikes.
-
He doesn't need to be nerfed. He's balanced.
-
Meh, it'll be the same irrelevant cluster of caterwaulers. They'll pretend to quit, make alt forum accounts to post with and resume playing normally in a month.
-
I am 100% buying this tome. I'm excited for it and I had a lot of fun with the other tome.
Also, if you buy skins; the tome makes the most sense to me.

It's somewhat hard to master killer, but as survivor (which the new update is balancing around new survivors) doesn't take long to master if the new player applies themselves. Maybe the game was easier in 2018, but after I started to try to improve as a player it only took me just a over a month to become a good survivor.
I think both were equally challenging to master, since both are very different gameplay.
There's a very small percentage in red ranks for survivor and killer, for a good reason.
Claiming one is "easy" compared to the others is false, as shown by the penetration of the population in red ranks on both sides.

I, personally, am questioning many things about "RECKONING".
One of them is "Why 2 survivors and 2 killers at once?" The last one could afford to only do one survivor and killer at a time. So it must be some pretty short lore for each character.
Another one is "Why the selected characters?" I completely understand why The Doctor is next, since his rework is coming up and all. But Spirit, Jane, and David?! Why? Why them instead of veteran killers or survivors? (veteran= old ones, the ones who have been with the game for a while. The og's, essentially)
Now let's talk about the rift. Will you be buying the premium rift pass, or does it not look worth? Compared to the last one's AMAZING charms, I know why the new ones aren't impressing me. Perhaps it could be because I don't play ANY of the characters (Doctor, Spirit, Jane, or David) but I don't think so. They all seem so lack luster. Though, the camera for Jane is the only thing that catches my attention.
I'm really excited about the new tome.

Oh wow. That's something I've never seen. I thought the trend was letting your real life issues get to you and let it out on a video game.
You can see how furious and tilted a killer is after they spent 4 gen repairs of time chasing you through loops.
I think it's a weak mental state to allow yourself to tunnel.
It's like taking the bait and arguing on forums and social media. Weak mental states pushed into a materialized attitude / action toward people.
-
I haven't seen anyone complaining about Billy recently. Did I miss something?
The killer is perfectly tuned.

Would devs include a section of the game where we can see our game stats?
Maps we've won/lost on the most
How many times we've healed our self/others
items we've used the most
I would love to have access to the personalized game statistics
This is a pretty good idea.

I don't tunnel or camp. I don't let my emotional state tilt me in a game.
I think camping and tunneling is more of a "I'm easily upset by things in my life and this is how I cope with it" sort of thing.

The recent updates such as the Doctor rework and the ruin update seem to be about making the game more enjoyable for new players. However, Dead by Daylight does not take long to learn compared to other PVP games, due to the low mechanical skill requirement.
If a new player puts the effort in to learn the game and to improve themselves, they can become a good player in a short period of time. Especially with the amount of good tutorial videos by Ussylis, Ohtofu, Painreliever, The King etc that are available to new players. They can watch DBD content creators to see how they play the game, implement the content creators game styles into their game.
I started playing Dead by Daylight in July 2018, I got to rank 1 both as survivor and killer in September 2018, became a good survivor around October 2018 (I'm still a mediocre killer). To take into account that I only started to put in the effort to get better in the middle to late August of 2018.
Whilst I have friends who have been playing the game for as long or even longer then me, and are still not good. They are just not good at video games in general.
Easy to pick up
Hard to master
Look at the achievement percentage rates per rank bracket.
That should tell you the answer to your question.
-
Because the modern gamer is incapable of adapting playstyles and is incredibly entitled.
You should see some of the visceral meltdowns over gun balances in FPS games. It's really quite pathetic how man people get.

Old challenges DO NOT give a reward towards new rift. You can finish them now...
Well, looks like I bamboozled myself.
2/10 for my attempt.
-
Tunneling is when the killer let's his emotional state dictate his actions in a game by focusing on a singular survivor at the cost of his own success.
It's really not half as common as people claim. People just don't like to lose.

If I am not mistaken (and I am pretty sure this was not confirmed by the Dev), there are more Challenges. Which means, there will be more Rift Fragments earned via Challenges.
I've saved the remainder of my challenges from my previous tome, so I can layer in the extra challenges to get more than 40 tiers completed in the next rift.

What magical fantasy of bullshit land do you play in that your survivor queues are acceptable? You're so full of crap I dont even know what to say
Take your L.
/thread

Because math is easy. Steamcharts are right there for you to see and it takes little to no effort to figure out how many players are playing and what roles they're playing in.
My queue times are fine on both Surv and Killer, both in red ranks.
I've shown my math and how I deduced the direction of the game.
Prove me wrong now.
Otherwise, thread is done and you lose.
Git gud.

The survivor mains will but not the killers, maybe 3 of the killers
At this time there are nearly 4,000 matches of DBD being played, which is a rotating number. That's 4,000 killers playing right now while you complain, during the non-peak hours.
That number (of killers) has also increased not only year over year but month over month even after the ruin rework was announced.
I have math proving that the obnoxious vocal minority doesn't matter and the majority of the base doesn't care about the ruin rework. High ranking killers like myself never used ruin anyway, its highly inefficient and depends on RNG.
You have what exactly, to prove that the ruin rework is a bad idea? Feelings? Opinions?
Git gud.
-
According to steamcharts, January 2020 is 1k over last year for players Month To Date (with a peak of 44k within 30 days).
The game isn't going anywhere. Sorry your training wheel rework got you so upset. I suggest you play Destiny as well, its where the potato garden is after all.
A very small but obnoxiously vocal percentage of players actually care about the ruin rework. The bads will leave and come back. The rest of us?
We'll still be having fun.

Bummer that killers can't adapt accordingly.
Y'all tell survivors to adapt when they get nerfed and we have. Time to practice what you preach
The lower rank killers are exceptionally dumb and toxic. They're like the bronze thru gold league LOL players. They all have this "I SHOULD BE HIGHER BUT MY STUPID TEAM" mentality. Once the training wheels are taken from them, we should have a lot less red rank killers in positions where they dont belong.
You can see it (low rank killer caterwauling) seep through the nonstop flow of miserable complaint threads you see lately.

Killers don't find random moris during a trial, and Morris also get consumed after using.

Hows that brown rank treating you?

I escape most of the time now. The killers get a few hooks and are usually a lower level than me. While I admit I am having fun as a survivor, I highly doubt the people playing killer are having any fun. Wonder how much longer people will deal with games that fly by and continue to play killer.
Ive never used ruin as a killer and I've been successful enough to get to red ranks. Ruin doesnt help with your judgement of when to tunnel / when to cut the chase. If anything, ruin has been training wheels for way too long. As a survivor, ruin is a joke to play against.
Especially if I play SWF.
The balance was needed and should unlock a lot of ignored game play for a lot of the silo'd skill bracket killers.
-
No rules. If I'm killer or survivor, I'm winning.

@ZoneDymo said:
Its one of those "super easy idk how you missed it" loopholes to the endgame collapse.
Why does it not atleast regress when not touching it?
Sure, the killer can go open the gate on their own, which will just lead to an ez unhook and running out the now opened door for survivors.
I mean, im not even talking about the timer and the lack of pressure the endgame collapse gives in a LOT of situations, but that lacking scenario is something we rarely even get to.
Killer hooks someone, survivors just 99% the gates knowing that in 99% of the cases/chases they will be able to open the gates and run out, then take their time to heal and go for a rescue, all the while not being pressured at all.
This is a great example of someone having a complaint but not being able to understand the full scope of the 'problem" their "complaint" addresses.
-
Imagine being so handicapped as a killer that the ruin balance will take you out of red ranks. I say this with whole heart:
Git.
Gud.

Killer gets mad about keys.
Killer has access to moris.
Killer thinks game is imbalanced.
