It should be 2 hatchets and you have to hit fully-charged shots to insta-down
-
Use Pop and Deadlock, run chase perks. Old Ruin isn't good at high MMR either, they'll just hit the skill checks
-
Pinhead is just a mess. Buff his power, nerf the passive, let survivors vault. Once again, BHVR did a terrible job designing a fun and balanced killer
-
Some of the add-ons are good and really interesting ideas, but the power changes are either unclear or just not a great idea. Pig's Ambush is useless at higher levels because survivors can just run away while she charges, which would now take even longer with this rework. And being Undetectable when Crouching only lasts 4s? Not a great idea. Removing RNG altogether from box searches is a no-go as well, even if BHVR would go for that (they won't). Taking 20s for a gen could be problematic, and it hurts solo-queuers more than SWFs, which isn't great. Shotgun collars would also be extremely broken, as whoever is partnered up with you when you get hooked or get in a chase is all but forced to follow you (and the killer) there.
Best thing to do to Pig is, to keep it short, nerf trap timers, make them more consistent with less workarounds, buff stealth movement, buff the Ambush, and buff/rework the add-ons. I have a more extensive rework posted already if you're interested.

Im less concerned with the system showing us what our rank is than i am with bhvr being transparent about how it works. Saying "We have a system to improve matchmaking, but it's a secret" is not exactly being transparent, interactive with community, or being open to feedback. We can't give feedback on a system we have to guess about. I watched something where someone claims to have datamined roughly how the system works. Whether or not they're accurate, is that really what bhvr wants us to do with their system?
Suggestion: Be open about how it works. Be receptive to feedback from people who actually play the game. Especially people who have put more hours into playing the game than bhvr has coding the system that decides how to handle matchmaking. To quote rick and morty: "You may have created this universe, but i live in it". Not me personally, i'm just a noob sub 40 hours killer. But i also know that if i rise in the SBMM system too quickly and only go against survivors who stomp me consistently i'm unlikely to reach 100 hours.
Your players are a fantastic resource. Use them, not keep them in the dark.
The problem is BHVR sucks at coding, and largely doesn't care about our feedback. They've shown on plenty of occasions that they think they know better than us. As long as they keep pumping out new crap to lure in new players, they don't really care about returning players

You said, and I quote:
Agreed, only nurse and spirit have a chance on any map against any team.
I had been saying that any killer, depending on the skill of the killer in comparison to the survivors skill, can win at almost any level.
Now the top 1% of games (tournaments of the top levels) will be restricted to top of A tier and S tier killers as skill will be similar between the killers and survivors so choosing a mediocre/bad killer at that level is throwing. But outside that skill plays a huge factor into which side wins.
You made it seem as if I was somehow agreeing with the person I was debating against.
Again, you're ignoring my point. I said "any", not "certain".

Maybe not, but I think it would only help. A lot of players would simply want to just make this arbitrary number go up, simply because it's there, imo. I understand the player base doesn't really feel listened to, but don't ask don't receive. Just trying to be constructive and wanted to put it out there again.
Agreed. BHVR just can't code. And we've more than asked, but BHVR has all but told us on more than one occasion that they think they know better than us

Wow nice hyperbole and complete mischaracterisation of my entire point, you should be a politician. To act as if skill cannot make trapper beat people at top levels whilst nurse can be dumpstered at top levels depending on skill levels of teams in accordance to the killer means that skill is the deciding factor.
#wooooooooooosh
You're calling me a politician while you completely dodge my point and put words in my mouth?

well indoor maps usually have some obstructions like barrels or boxes or crates on passageways and you could replace those with rocks to make it feel more like a dense forest.
Sounds like Shelter Woods lol

Yes but the premise was that trapper and any other killer could not ever go against a semi decent swf.
This argument was to say that skill is not a huge factor in games, which is why I replied this way

This is really bad. I noticed the sweatyness as well. At least I seem lucky when I play soloq. With 4k hrs i am a veteran, but I never really liked all the meta ######### too much. And thankfully my more supportive playstyle (although I CAN loop quite well) puts me to high-midrange and not high MMR for some reason. But once I play with some friends who like to loop a bit more than me, it's just one tunneler/camper affter the other.
Same goes for killer.
Yeah it's just straight boring and BHVR doesnt care to rework the bad killers or perks to give us more variety

It doesn't take a century to see how the game works and why it's terrible for a game to work that way. I just hit rank 10 and again played 3 games in a row where the killer felt inclined to camp near the hooks to make it as beneficial as possible for themselves to win. You're telling me that you, as a survivor, not only play against these people but also enjoy it? Well I don't, and I imagine there are plenty of other people out there who feel the same way. As someone else said, they don't voice their opinions here because they get shut down "because that's just how the game works"
Ofc it's not fun, but killers get slaughtered if they dont do it. Ofc they got shut down for complaining about it, because thats not a solution. Its not fun to do or to have done against you, but BHVR doesnt care to balance the game
-
Agreed, it hurts my ears
-
They'll never do that, they dont want us to know how bad the system is
-
MMR is a joke, yet another time BHVR reminds us they don't give a ######### about veteran players. The higher MMR levels just consist of the sweatiest perks, items, addons, characters, and map offerings. It's not any fun at all, and it's not skill based either. BHVR, you're just driving your veteran players away.
The hackers and cheaters dont help either, they'll all end up there.

I know! The labyrinth from Hellraiser 2 is perfect. I’m sure it’s rights issues (it’s always rights issues) but that’s no excuse for original characters not having maps.
I think BHVR finally realizes their code is busted and needs to be fixed before they add too much else, plus indoor maps are not widely appreciated

Eh. A dense forest map would probably be the equivalent of an indoor map. Hell I could see them taking the bottom floor of Hawkins and making it a dense forest map
I mean if it has passageways it isn't really dense, tbf. I do like the ideas though, I think they could easily turn Hawkins into a carnival or even Korean city streets for Trickster

- killer : don't like the map (ex : Lery's as Hillbilly)
- survivor : don't like the map
- survivor : don't like the killer character

Hell no. That's why I said only enable it at certain points, like when all gens are done or maybe 2 survivors are dead

Yeah, the Hag is what her name says - A Hag. People forget that hags are creatures of folklore too. I believe saying the Hag is a witch is not wrong, since the word "Hag" came from an Old English term for "witch". There's also the fact that other languages don't have an specific word for Hag, which is usually translated to the same word as "witch". A Hag, according to folk tales, is an old lady who possesses magical powers and is often said to feed on human flesh (commonly children), and Lisa Sherwood fits the description almost perfectly, with the only difference being she is not old, just disfigured.
That's actually really cool, thanks for the info
-
I'd love to see a vampire or werewolf or something. A boogeyman would be cool too. La Llorona would be pretty cool as well, although Spirit and Nurse kind of cover that. Killers with more direct references to folklore would be cool tho
-
@Alice_pbg said:
by "indian", you mean from india?
or just not the correct word to refer to natives? (unless you are brazillian, in which case it is the correct word, but only in portuguese)
hag is slightly based on the wendigo, which as far as I know, is a folklore from native-americans. so there's that
I find hag to be more of a witch than a wendigo, but I see the connection

That's okay, if you feel that way. Personally, I feel like I've much more space when it comes to fun perks as a Survivor, same with the various combinations you can make. Are they always meta? Of course not. But I can still have a good, solid game despite running Flashbang and Head on. While as a Killer, the pressure to have certain perks, such as Corrupt and Pop is much higher. And that's on top of BBQ to help with the general grind of the game.
I mean I get what you're saying. But killers are forced to have slowdown perks just like survivors are forced to have BT or DS if they don't want to get tunneled out instantly. Regardless, there's not much perk diversity on either side in terms of strengths. I don't agree that killers need BBQ tho, it's just enjoyable and good for people who struggle to find survivors

Redundancies?
- Regarding the school, there's hardly a school of any sort in this game. It's a tiny nondescript building that doesn't resemble any school I've ever seen, with a couple of rooms that range between the size of a closet and a small jail cell. I'm talking about an actual school with a gym, cafeteria, vestibules, a library, etc. You know, a SCHOOL. Not just a little building in the middle of a dead end road.
- Chapel does not have an amusement park, it has a small caravan with a few boxes, a horse, and a fortune telling machine in one small corner of the map. Did you see the picture I posted?
- The Red Forest is about the closest that this game comes to representing anything resembling actual woods, and it's still wide open. Have you ever been in the deep forest? Where the trees form a canopy that light can't penetrate, and where wandering off of an established path will actually get you lost? I can't personally speak for whether the game's engine can support many trees but it used to, so I don't really know why that would be a problem now.
It's perfectly fine if you don't like my suggestions but I find it kind of odd that someone could look at any of the photos I posted and say "oh yeah, that's already a map, that looks like something straight out of DBD".
Uhhh there's Midwich, which literally has classrooms. There's Badham, which gives FIVE school maps. I get what you mean though, could be interesting. BHVR really struggles to make good indoor maps though.
If you want a full on amusement park, go for it. I've seen your pictures, but BHVR never goes that in-depth for any map, they're all somewhat generic besides a couple landmarks.
And again, we will never see a dense forest map, it'd be terrible for gameplay.

Hence why it should only be enabled at certain points, such as when all generators are complete. I meant to touch on that, apologies

Patch Notes are related to the content in the patch, it does not cover known issues from previous patches so it would not have been mentioned in that. And on Twitter we have responded to questions from players about this issue also.
Alright, it's just hard to find anything is all. Thank you for confirming

I don't consider rank 1 as high level gameplay but you can tell that we have different opinions on things.
Basically what you are trying to say is that wraith should be played like legion but instead of mending survivors should heal, also the fact that in most pallets in certain maps basically guarantee a hit if the wraith decides to uncloak right there is not something that people should get without working for it, maybe I'm not properly explaining what I mean and that is probably it.
Rank 1 is definitely not high level lol. But you do see a bit of it there.
Wraith can be played a lot of ways, but he's become a great HnR killer. As a killer with stealth, extreme mobility, and little to no chase power, his best strategy is to try to keep survivors injured and unsure of his whereabouts. I'm by no means saying you can't be successful with other strategies, I myself do a lot more chasing than HnR, but it's obvious what his strengths are more suited towards.
As for counterplaying the mega lunge, I'll attempt to find some clips and leave them here if you remind me. There's a great deal of counterplay to it

It's best to just share helpful information instead of lashing out at the devs. We know they are working on a fix and leaving rude replies aren't going to get things done faster.
Are the devs even listening at this point? I can't be civil when they choose to prioritize pumping out unfinished and buggy content instead of repairing and balancing all the content they still need to. And now they refuse to even acknowledge that console is still broken

Blight and huntress are, but they aren't as powerful as spirit, nor as difficult as nurse (arguably the strongest killer in the game).
Skill is definitely the deciding factor in a game, a person can be ######### at a killer and have the greatest perk loadout but if the survivors are good (not even swf level just good survivors). Then they can get a 4 man escape.
Skilled killers can win against swf on the worst of killers with ok perks. Examples are otzdarvas 50 win streaks on trapper, wraith and clown. Perks don't carry them, their own skill does.
We will just disagree on this though.
Tbf, Trapper isn't winning ######### against an actually solid team. Pubs is just, well, pubs
-
Stop. The meta is broken on both sides which just hurts perk diversity. It isn't overpowered, just annoying

Blight has become one of the best killer designs in the game. To be clear, that does not mean he is well-polished, as he still constantly slides off things. His concept is great though, and his skill curve and playstyle is good for everyone

I suggested silent bell and all seeing purple (blood) I think it's called in english.
That is about it, maybe change all seeing purple to irri and maybe for the silent bell to maybe to not stack with certain addons.
Also hit and run style can be easily countered by a medkit, but I think that is just playstyle preference, I personally don't think hit and run is the strongest way to play him.
For the basekit, I think removing super lunge and make it like before where you needed windstorm in order to do it.
That is about it honestly, I don't have issues against wraith except when combined with those 2 addons and certain wraiths that just spam super lunges.
Silent bell isn't even as strong as bone clapper in my opinion, at the higher level at least. Way more mindgames with the latter. All Seeing Blood also gives him an actual chase power, and I think it's a fantastic add-on. For my rework though, I did change Coxcombed Clapper.
Run Ruin and you can juggle survivors till medkits run out if you get good with the playstyle. I understand why it's not as fun for survivors, so perhaps something could be done but it's not like there's no counterplay. I think there's more pressing issues in DBD.
And again, super lunge isn't even as long as a Pig Ambush, which is already a very weak chase power. That's not to mention the charging time is a 3s uncloak. It's not at all problematic, as someone who has both had their own speed lunges countered effectively and played well against others'. Survivors just need practice to counter it. It's pretty simple. Don't drop Pallets until Wraith is almost fully uncloaked, and make loops as long as possible instead of going around the same short portion of one. The rest is just repetition and not panicking
-
It's absolutely broken. It's the biggest map in the game by almost double now when taking into account all the walls and stupid rooms in the way, and again, there's a bunch of walls and claustrophobia and rooms you can't get to even when you're next to them. It's absolutely massive and I pray BHVR does indeed break it into separate maps. Let's not even mention the absolutely busted loops
-
@CornHub said:
It is, you just gotta get creative with it. Personally I hope the devs continue designing maps that don't copy & paste other structures from other maps into them.
Have you seen the dead end rooms, the immense size, and the godly loops in this map? It's easily the worst designed map in DBD, no matter how good it looks
-
@Adeloo said:
If it goes throught a vote for survivor i honestly don't see the problem.
BUT i think Forfeiting should take away 50% of the XP and BP gained during the trial, aswell as giving a Black Pip
Seeing as how this is only a way to escape potential toxicity and save time, I don't think there should be a BP or XP punishment. Take chess for example. Forfeits aren't stigmatized at all there, they're just part of the game. Should be the same here, don't punish people for not delaying the inevitable, especially in this case where it can prevent toxicity
-
This is actually a great idea. I've had so many games where survivors just want to taunt at the gates or the killer just wants to gloat over your body. Obviously you'd give the other side their points for the outcome (kill or escape), but I like this. It should only become available after a certain point though, like when all gens are completed or 3 survivors are on hooks or 2 are dead

I didn't realize that, no. From what I can tell my copy of the game doesn't have a hotel, high school, amusement park, thick woods, a cemetery, or an abandoned mall in it.
There are multiple schools in DBD, and the age of the non-existent students doesn't mean much. Chapel has an amusement perk. Shelter Woods and almost any Coldwind map are about as woodsy as BHVR will ever go. This game isn't designed to handle constant obstructions like in a dense forest. An abandoned mall and a cemetery would be pretty cool, I'm just pointing out the redundancies in your post

The parameter is being downed alongside someone else. It's one thing to get slugged yourself, it's another to get slugged with someone else in close proximity. Plus it's something the killer can anticipate "those two slugged survivors are crawling towards each other, they might have 'DbnO'!" Just like you anticipate UB and avoid slugging Bills, or you anticipate DS when a freshly unhooked survivor jumps in a locker.
So I don't think it's too strong of a perk, if anything I think it's a little too niche, but still an interesting idea.
You can't anticipate it when the best play with this perk is to get downed directly by someone else. Also, this perk still wouldn't compare to either of the aforementioned perks, so you're right, it is niche. It also doesn't make any sense from a canonical standpoint. How do you pick someone else up when you can't pick up yourself?
I think it's a perk that not only requires survivors to punish themselves in order to use it, but punishes the killer for playing well. I really like the creativity behind it, but I don't think it would work, and I definitely can't see BHVR going for it. Of course, that's true for 99% of community suggestions, BHVR just thinks they know best, so don't take offense to me saying that. It is a creative idea, I find it interesting. There's a lot worse ones out there

Survivors would have to crawl to one another to make use of it though making it easier for the killer to keep them all together and find.
"Rewards you for being downed" I supposed the same could be said for Unbreakable giving you a flat recover speed bonus while downed as well as the ability to pick yourself up once per match. What's wrong with a perk giving you positives when you're in a bad spot?
I know that there are perks already that help alleviate slugging I just thought this was a unique idea.
You could literally just get downed next to someone and then both of you get up, and there's no usage limit or parameters unlike Soul Guard and Unbreakable. But at the same time it's still too niche. It's boom or bust and both ways are too unbalanced in this case.

Maybe for some but I play chase wraith which is enduring spirit fury.
Also I never said that the speed is what is wrong with wraith only that combination.
I also never said that he needed a nerf only an addon pass.
Hit and run is absolutely one of best playstyles if not the best after the speed buff. Wraith has almost no chase power besides that. And I'm referencing both you and OP, and the many people in the community who say he needs a nerf now. Sorry for the confusion. What add-ons do you suggest they change?

Absolutely. It gives so much information when you aren't on comms. I'd never solo queue without it unless I have a challenge or something.
Though really, it'd be better if the HUD showed survivors what action each other is performing, and if you could update it with things like "going for unhook".
