No, it was because they moved at 132% movement speed and could vault pallets and windows in 0.9 seconds. The no missed attack penalty and instant rev was just the cherry on top.
Leatherface can't vault pallets and windows, though, and still has that start-up time.

Were you around when old Legion was a thing? Let me tell you, a Legion in Feral Frenzy was GAURANTEED a hit. Literally GAURANTEED. There was NOTHING you could do to stop him. Moonwalking was just icing on the cake to Frenzy spam. Why do you think Frank’s Mixtape was meta on him?
Yes, I was. The guaranteed hit was due to Legion being able to start up their Feral Frenzy instantly and then swing as much as they wanted until they landed their hit with no worries about missing.

Old Legion also completely ignored any defenses Survivors had. Bubba with Bamboozle does that ten times over, and instadowns on top of it.
But that wasn't the problem with Old Legion. The problem was that the only way to really do good with him was the moonwalking strat, which had zero counterplay.
-
I thought the problem with Old Legion was that no cooldown/penalty on swinging + old Deep Wounds + moonwalking to avoid triggering a chase meant that the Killer could just down Survivors with zero counterplay (even if it was inefficient).

You are not making any sense saying that people are banned for doing officially stated game objective if it takes them too long, where "too long" is an arbitrary undefined number.
And he did literally say that. I'm quoting. "The longest you can stay on a hook is 2 minutes (+34 seconds if you happen to have Camaraderie). Beyond that, nobody is allowed to take the game hostage."
This literally said that anything beyond 2 minutes and 34 seconds is not allowed. Anyway, don't bother replying as there is too much nonsense for me to bother with here. I'm unsubbing from this thread. Have a good day.
If one side is stalling out the game and not actively contributing to bringing the game to an end, they are not doing their objective.
And you are misinterpreting what that quote means. Allow me to quote it in full:
Struggling on the hook is not taking the game hostage. It's only considered to be holding the game hostage when it's indefinite or for an extended period of time. The longest you can stay on the hook is 2 minutes (+34 seconds if you happen to have Camaraderie).
What the above quote is saying is that struggling on the hook is not taking the game hostage because you can only stay on the hook for a small amount of time (2m34s, to be exact); you cannot stay on the hook for a super long period of time. The 2m34s is Peanits saying that that is the longest amount of time you can stay on the hook before you definitely will die (assuming no one saves you), not Peanits saying that that is the longest amount of time you are allowed to hide before it is considered holding the game hostage.

I feel you are beyond confused at this point. You are now saying that killer can get banned for doing his objective (defending gens)? LOL :D
People are supposed to look at the timer and count down how long they can defend gens/hide until the possibility of a ban? 2:35 seconds according to that supposedly official screenshot posted earlier. This is getting too bizarre even for my twisted taste :) Okay, I'm done here.
Have a good day.
Both Killer and Survivor can be banned for holding the game hostage. If the Survivors decide they want to go hiding indefinitely instead of doing gens, leaving the Killer to spend ages searching for them and be stuck in the game, that is reportable. If the Killer decides he wants to just stay by a 3-gen and refuse to chase/down Survivors, leaving the Survivors to be unable to approach the gens and be stuck in the game, that is reportable.
I don't understand what you find confusing. I am telling you something that someone actually said they were banned for. Also, Peanits did not say that you might get banned if you wait longer than 2:35. That is just you misreading the post.

Mad, didn’t know this. Kind of a bummer imo for players who grinded hard for skins then, just for them to be available again further down the line. Any ideas on how they will make them available again?
Almost definitely in-store. Whether it is auric cells only or not, I can't really say.

I don't know how many times I need to explain that hiding is part of gameplay as described on official page. "Holding the game hostage" means that the game cannot possibly end, i.e. the only way to end it is to DC. Show me evidence that anyone was ever banned for hiding "super long". By your logic survivors must voluntarily walk to the killer if they are 3 genned and killer refuses to walk away from 3 gens? Does this make slightest amount of sense to you?
Hiding is allowed according to the rules. No one doing gens for super long periods of time because of hiding is what is not allowed.
I do not have access to the list of people banned, so asking me to provide that is silly. I can't even show you evidence of people being banned for straight-up hacking.
If the Killer makes no effort to look for Survivors and just camps by a 3-gen setup, that Killer can be reported for holding the game hostage. I have seen a thread on here about someone who was complaining about being banned for that exact reason. So no, it doesn't make sense, but not for the reason you think.

I already explained: it's not in game and is not on store page. People are not required to search through a million posts forum before engaging in gameplay. There is no arguing against it. Hiding is also described as a way to play in game objectives. There is no time limit mentioned anywhere: https://deadbydaylight.com/en/game#objectives
"To avoid being caught, basic strategies can be used such as crouching behind obstacles, hiding in tall grass, dark corners, or in lockers."
"Holding the game hostage" is listed as an official reportable offense in multiple places. The dev here is officially clarifying that not doing gens and hiding for long periods of time counts as holding the game hostage.
If someone gets banned for such an offense, the argument that "you didn't say that not doing gens and hiding for a super long time is not allowed" will absolutely not fly.

It's not an official rule. It's not posted on Steam store page where you buy the game or in game itself? Do you imagine people who buy the game should be required to search through forum with over a million posts before starting the game to make sure they don't break any rules?
It is posted on an official forum by an official employee. It is official. There is no arguing against it.

That message is just a forum reply and is not an official rule. Read what it says and think for yourself: "2 minutes (+34 seconds if you happen to have Camaraderie). Beyond that, nobody is allowed to take the game hostage"
You get banned to not touching gens for 2 minutes and 35 seconds? You really believe that? Have you seen rank 20 survivors?
It is an official rule. There is no arguing against that.

I have already spoken about this. To summarize, currently: either the notion of hostage taking is not defined correctly and/or it is dishonest, or hostage taking simply does not exist in reality, or it is possible for any survivor to correctly argue that the hostage-taking was never his intention.
Use Whispers, and/or Iron Maiden. Hate the game, not the players.
The definition of hostage taking would be "taking actions that prevent the game from coming to a close and leaving one or more players with no options but to either sit there indefinitely or disconnect from the game." For Killers, it would be body blocking the last Survivor for a long time when the EGC has not started. For Survivors, it would be actively refusing to do gens and hiding from the Killer for a long time."

Disprove it. Saying that it "can be disproved" doesn't disprove anything. As I said before, if devs had intention to limit time spent in matches they would add a simple timer that would end the match. See EGC for example of timer implementation. See the camping section and then google what camping means. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camping_(video_games)
"This behaviour manifests online in different ways depending on the type of game (online text adventure, graphical MMO, first-person shooter, etc.), but invariably involves a player waiting in one location"
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT CONSIDERED BANNABLE OFFENSES - PLEASE DO NOT REPORT
- Camping
- Slugging
- Tunneling
- Streamsniping
- Teabagging
- Bodyblocking
- Looping
I just re-posted the quote saying that Survivors can be punished for not doing gens for an extended period of time.

Exactly, I already answered OPs question. Please take your grievances elsewhere. It's disappointing that some people take different opinions so personally.
it's not an opinion. It's a factually incorrect claim that can be disproven.

It's not an echo chamber if there is a definitive, factual answer. Not doing gens for over half an hour is reportable according to the devs.

It doesn't matter if you believe it. What matters is if it happened. Videos in the past have shown that this is very possible. It doesn't matter if the Killer is good or bad. If the Survivors refuse to make an effort toward escaping the trial and are forcing the Killer to spend a super long time looking for them, that is reportable.
With 3 poorly placed generators left, and 2 survivors remaining, the action that is the most likely to lead to your own escape is to hide until the other survivor goes down, and the hatch opens up. This is a type of prisoner's dilemma where showing yourself to the killer only benefits the killer 100% of the time, and in most instances the other survivor as well. The only other rational play is to purposely show yourself to the killer in order to actively lead him to the other survivor's hiding place.
I am yet to see a single link to a developer's statement or their quote in this thread that clearly states that using stealth in a 3gen- 2srv situation for as long as necessary is in fact illegal. In the above situation clearly one of them was able to escape, so this strategy was not pointless. No one walked away from the keyboard, no one held the game hostage.
In fact the developers have already put a fix into DBD: the crows eventually start circling above your head and making distinct noises to give away your location if you don't actively work on an objective for a set span of time.

Forgive me if I am not up to date on this, but last I recall, it is possible to avoid triggering crows simply by stealthily traversing the map. The crows are more just catching people who are mostly remaining idle, not people who are moving around the map to hide.

I don't imply that OP is lying. I'm saying there is a possibility that he is not telling the whole story. We've heard only one side of the story and it's obvious that the OP is salty and is looking for revenge.
You suggested that the OP made no effort to look for them and was simply AFK when OP said that they were looking for the remaining Survivors. That is implying OP is lying.

Similarly, it doesn't matter if you believe that it happened, if it didn't happen. If it spending more time in game than some imaginary time limit was bannable, devs would simply add time limit that would automatically end game. There are many games with rounds limited by timers and there is nothing novel about it. For all we know, OP made very low effort in finding them and expected them to come to his defended gen location. He lost in his gamble and now he came spilling his salt here and looking for revenge. That's a very pitiful behavior.
The Survivors did not touch a gen for over 30 minutes. That is reportable, according to the devs. You are simply wrong in this discussion.

Incorrect. It doesn't specify that camping refers to killer only. Camping is camping.
Holding game hostage means that game can't end without a DC, for example if you body blocked last survivor. Camping game can end by one of the sides completing the objective.
Not doing objective refers to AFK. They obviously were not AFK or he would find them with crows.
They are doing objective. Surviving as long as possible is one of the objectives. You even get BPs for that in survival category.
Wrong on multiple accounts. The devs have already clarified this. Why do you ignore the fact that the devs have stated that this is reportable?

Nah, that's pretty much your main option. The only other thing you can really do is provide video evidence of them stalling if you have any.

The devs have specified that camping on the hook is not reportable/bannable, but holding the game hostage is. Simple. Consistency.
A chance to destroy the item means it does nothing if you do pick it up.
Idk, I feel like the 10% charge penalty was minor enough that I would rather have the chance to outright delete the item than such a minor penalty. The fact that I can also see where the item was knocked off helps too, since some Survivors try to make a beeline for the item they dropped the moment they are off the hook.
-
It's okay for one side to be really skilled such that they are a force to be reckoned with. The problem comes from when one side is optimal enough that it doesn't really matter how optimal the other side is. That to me is a sign of balance issues.

Some think it is. I've been "called out" for it in post game chat a couple times. What they don't understand is that if you didn't rush through the gens against a baby Huntress learning how to best use her power and we all actually had a fun game I wouldn't care and would probably have just hooked and walked away both of those times, lol.
I just ignore them. If I am on the verge of losing anyways, I will try to secure my kill.
-
Camping during the endgame isn't toxic, though.
-
I prefer BBQ because of the big cooldown on Thrilling. If it wasn't for the cooldown, I would say Thrilling Tremors is better. Though beyond that, BBQ also lets me easily see Survivors wearing Reverse Bear Traps who are trying to move toward another box.
