But you didn’t comment on the comparison to Huntress’s Iridescent Head, only to BNP. Am I to assume it’s also balanced from your perspective?
Nope. I think Iri head should be changed.

My comparison was merely to show that an item being nerfed such a small BNP needed the rarity change that it never received.
Considering that with the Syringe the killer maybe not give you the chance you fully heal, it can be completely negated; thus, deserving a rarity nerf.
I don't agree that counterplay means it is not warranting the UR rarity. It just means that it is more balanced than before.

To counter your idea that players are deluded and don’t think they can stipulate criteria to blatantly obvious changes, how about this logic: before the BNP nerf, the item was considered ultra-rare. Fast forward to the update that changed BNP and it is something most people would skip in their bloodweb as it no longer holds the SAME VALUE as it once did. The fact that it was ultra-rare before in no way constitutes it to be ultra rare today.
Same thing with the Syringe, before the PTB it would instantly and completely heal you, meriting it’s status as Ultra-Rare. Today, it is now able to passively heal you. It does not hold the same value, therefore it should not receive the merit of ultra rare. It is in no way comparable to say, an ultra rare Iridescent Head from Huntress.
*(BNP needed the nerf but also to its rarity)
In order for that comparison to hold water, you have to prove that Syringe was nerfed just as hard as BNP.

I honestly agree with you so much but are insta heals actaully getting nerfed? Cause if so then thats just stupid whats the point? You can only use it one time its not like there was a big deal with them.
Yes, they are.

I’m suggesting the rarity be changed to what it ought to be not what the past version of it still holds it as. It is no longer “ultra-rare” rare or very-rare at the most.
What makes it not worth ultra-rare?

You can also only use it once
Are you suggesting it would be fine to use more than once?
-
You don't have to stand still to passively heal with a Syringe.
-
Is there even a consensus on this? Opinions seem to be all over the place.

That is not valid point. A tv show being cancelled means exactly that, it's cancelled. You can still play nurse. People are crying because they can't 4k every match anymore. Get a better comparison please.
My point is if something happens that people don't approve of, they're allowed to be upset about it (within reason). It being a video game doesn't change that.
-

Wow, everyone is upset over a video game character. Shameful.
This is a video game. What do you expect? Being upset over a tv show being cancelled?

i'm talking about the old instaheals... instantly heal is the same as instantly down... or mori wich is instantly kill. but ofc its only fair that killers who do bad gets instadown when all gens are done?
Not saying I am a fan of NOED, but Insta-heals can be used at any point while NOED can only be used once the Exit Gates are powered.

@TAG You're comparing how LF has to get up close in order to use his "insta down" power ...
Correct?
Well this isn't the same as Iri Head and Pinky Finger, simply because you don't need to charge their weapons. You just need aim. Aim which is guaranteed for simply hovering behing a survivor.
So no. I don't think they suddenly become Leatherface because of an extreme effect that shouldn't be in an add on that is that easy and straightforward to use in the first place.
"Well this isn't the same as Iri Head and Pinky Finger, simply because you don't need to charge their weapons. You just need aim. Aim which is guaranteed for simply hovering behing a survivor."
Yeah, hence why I say they become a marginally better Leatherface. It's kinda like an insta-saw Bubba.

@TAG I'm not twisting your words dear you're the one who brought up Leatherface in the first place.
You are making a comparison of one add on to a whole killer power, which is why I don't think it's a good comparison.
You are twisting my words by alleging I am merely comparing Leatherface and Huntress as overall Killers rather than comparing Leatherface to a very specific playstyle of Huntress.
-
@Kasaki said:

Now I can agree with that but we should have more than two options in a horror survival game, that's just making it more boring we need new ######### in this game that offers high reward for high risk
Your third option is to distract the Killer while healing someone on the ground. Bodyblocking is also an option. Ballsy players can also opt for sabotaging a hook that a Killer is trying to reach.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:

@TAG Are you seriously comparing LF to Huntress?
Welp. That's my queue.
I am comparing Leatherface to a Huntress player who only throws an Iri Hatchet when they are right up to them, just like you were discussing earlier. Please don't twist my words.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746331#Comment_746331
@TAG See now you're getting into another topic.
Leatherface has nothing to do with insta effects because his power is not an add on.
No, because I'm telling you that the methods you are suggesting turns those Killers into Leatherface. Do you think Leatherface needs little to no skill to do well? If so, why is he considered one of the weakest Killers? If not, what separates the tactics you suggested from Leatherface?
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746311#Comment_746311
@TAG and they removed the effect of being "insta". Which is why I brought up other "insta" add ons. Because for the reasons I stated, they also don't require skill.
By this logic, Leatherface doesn't require skill.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746282#Comment_746282
@TAG So if a survivor didn't need "skill" to use a Syringe, why not just add new conditions? Why remove the effect? I mean... if you wanna talk about skill we can talk about skill. Just, let's not pretend that an extreme effect, that is literally in those add ons (iri head, pinky finger) is not "too much" when you can literally lust a survivor and down them.
The condition they added was "Don't get hit for 8 seconds."
Also, again. Leatherface.
-
@Mr_Digi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746271#Comment_746271
but you're happy noed and other instadown killer things can hit survivors down instantly? because its only too string if survivors have a insta thing? they should do something about noed and rancor... rancor does not need instadown and mori.. would be fine with 1 them
No? I am indifferent to that.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746254#Comment_746254
@TAG Most Huntresses I've gone against that had Iri head had to get up close to get the hit because they weren't confident and they weren't going to waste that hatchet to turn themselves into an M1 killer.
So at the end of the day, there is really 0 skill involved when you use these two add ons.
That's fine, though, because they still need to be able to actually catch up if they want to do that, which still makes them effectively Leatherface. A Survivor didn't need to escape the Killer to be able to use the Agent/Syringe.
-
No thank you. I am more happy that Survivors can't be immediately healed from the ground than I am that Survivors can't immediately heal themself when they take a hit.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746246#Comment_746246
@TAG And like I said... you can get right up the survivors' behind and not have to aim. Same with Iri head.
Iri head is fine by itself. The reason it needs to be changed is because it is problematic with Infantry Belt.
Again, then at that point, you are just turning Clown into Leatherface. With Iri, it is different because you can actually down someone at a moderate distance.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746235#Comment_746235
@TAG I'm just comparing by the skill that is required to use it, since Peanits stated there is no skill in using a Syringe or Styptic. Not really focused on the Clown's abilities all together.
Pinky Finger requires you to directly hit someone with a bottle, which does require aim. Insta-heals required you to push a button.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/746198#Comment_746198
@TAG Iri Head, Pinky Finger... You can basically Lust your way and be right up their behind to a complete down = No skill.
Pinky Finger just turns Clown into a marginally better Leatherface.
-
@meatisadelicacy said:
I play on console so we don't have PTB Privilege. What happened with insta heals?
Styptic Agent now grants a player protection from one hit for 15 seconds.
Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe now takes 8 seconds to heal someone, and the heal fails if the Survivor being healed either changes health states or is picked up.
@Johnny_XMan said:
How about remove insta down add ons too.
The only insta-down add-on that needs to be changed is Iri head IMO.

They're fine with the instaheals being in game but when you leave the moris the way they are it BS, i mean survivors only had the instas, a pallet, or flashlight as a way to save a downed teammate and now it's just flashlight and pallet,... How bland and boring, I was hoping for new balanced items to make the game more interesting while offering a way to save but it's clear the direction the devs are going and wait times will be a thing again mark my words
Saving a downed teammate is not supposed to be easy.

Both should be done together, for balance. There is no indication that they are doing anything with EM. Therefore, my point stands.
Just to be clear, I don't care about IH nerf, but don't call it an action to bring balance when you have EM, which is even more imbalanced, still in game. Yes, IH sucks, but does not end the game for the killer. EM does.
Disagree. If they know how they want to nerf something OP, just do it.

Insta heals shouldn't have been touched until moris were , but that's all good as long as it's a survivor nerf right? We have all these bullshit insta downs and moris but one thing that can help survivors in that situation need to be taken away ya know because 4ks all day or the killers cry their ######### eyeballs out
I would have been okay with Moris being nerfed first. Doesn't matter to me which one gets gutted first as long as they both get nerfed in the end.
Also, most insta-downs are fine.

Typical hypocrisy from DbD. I don't argue that IHs were not powerful, but to claim those to be unbalanced and to leave EMs in the game is quite hypocritical. Sorry, but neither take much of any skill to use, and both create near game-breaking issues. Nerf one, you need to nerf the other.
Who said moris won't be nerfed down the line?

Spine Chill is categorized as a detection perk. For example, tier 1 Michael is basically what the status effect even is before it was introduced, and you never see Spine Chill activate against him until he wasn't tier 1 anymore.
If memory serves correctly, Undetectable makes someone immune to only aura-reading, not all detection perks.
-
@NoShinyPony said:
@TAG The killer can't tell. That's it.
They should probably have some kind of status hud icon to indicate when a Survivor is passively healing with Syringe (or Second Wind). Like a Deep Wound bar but in reverse.

You think he sucks playing against a P3 leatherface on console is no easy feat considering we don't have a mouse pad to flick our controls around to our will, we actually have to use skills.
I would argue that Leatherface sucks harder on console due to lack of sensitivity when making tight turns.
-
Undetectable doesn't work on Spine Chill, IIRC.
-
My only concern is with how a Killer is supposed to tell whether a Survivor used the Styptic Agent or the Syringe. Because if they used Styptic, you don't want to hit them for a small moment, but if they used Syringe, you DO want to hit them before they heal.
-

So what will be done about killer with insta down capabilities? You mean to tell me insta heals were too much but leatherface with easy cool downs, is perfectly balanced. Did you even think of how this effects console players at the very least considering they aren't on the same level as PC?
Leatherface sucks.

Nurse is getting nerfed.
Freddy got re-worked. Incidentally, Borrowed Time is much weaker on Freddy now.
Dying Light and Left Behind got reworked.
EDIT: Now that the leak earlier is confirmed, insta-heals are getting nerfed.
Stealth Killers (Wraith, Pig, Ghostface) are going to be immune to aura reading perks while stealthing.

I see. That wasn't very clear from your original comment, but I understand now. It's a novel idea, but there are a lot of bloodpoint offerings, and they're fairly common. I suspect that it might just amplify the problem rather than dampen it, but it's hard to say really without testing it.
I don't see how it would amplify the problem if it only works on someone who has been hooked two times. At best, it just indirectly weakens D-Strike.
-

Okay, so I'm assuming you're talking about cypress/ivory moris. But most people agree those are fine anyway, you're suggesting we balance instaheals and moris by nerfing the less powerful moris, while leaving the one which is actually comparable to things like syringes intact?
I'm suggesting we do away with all the current Mori offerings and let the bloodpoint offerings give you the power to Mori Survivors who have been hooked twice.
-
@Fibijean said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/744878#Comment_744878
That is the opposite of a fix, in what way does it fix the concern with moris being OP like instaheals?
...because it only works on Survivors who have been hooked two times?
-
Some people think base kit Nurse is balanced and should not be nerfed.
Some people think the Nurse base kit nerfs are excessive.
-
Make the yellow and green bloodpoint offerings allow you to Mori Survivors who have been hooked twice.
