  • Something I appreciate is how easily bigots will jump to out themselves.

  • Damn, wish I could just listen to a song to fix people trying to strip away human rights.

  • I hope you’re equally aware of the fact devs have explicitly stated they don’t like posting stats because they get used out of context. And that they have to put disclaimers on every single one every single time they do because there are way too many factors that go into it, and the end resulting numbers alone are basically meaningless.

  • The doxxing and threatening of his wife and kids was stupid and gross of whoever did so. Scott shouldn’t be able to escape responsibility for his own decisions though.

He donated to Tulsi Gabbard and unnamed Republicans except for former President Trump.

Please note that, iirc, these were leaked illegally and he was subsequently doxxed. His donation and voting records are private.

They're not though. Federal law literally requires any donation over a tiny amount to be public. You should really double check what you talk about.

An anonymous contribution of cash is limited to $50. Any amount in excess of $50 must be promptly disposed of and may be used for any lawful purpose unrelated to any federal election, campaign or candidate.

Federal law requires disclosure of most significant contributions over $200. This includes donors’ names, addresses, occupations and employer information, which then become public record freely available and tracked by the FEC. Many organizations report all contributions to stay on the safe side of disclosure laws.

Federal law requires that all political action committees, political parties and federal candidates disclose any and all contributions received that are over $200. This information, then becomes public record.

Wait so Im not too familiar with Scott as a person just more so the games, where did he donate too? Different Oni btw.

Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, Tulsi Gabbard, Ben Carson, John Cornyn, John R Gregg, Christina Hale, Devin Nunes, Elise Stefanik, Cory Gardner, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, David Valadao, Tommy Tuberville, National Republican Senatorial Committee, Kimberly Klacik, Kevin McCarthy, Bill Cassidy, WinRed. You can Google any of their names to find details on all of the ways they are expressly against various LGBT+ human rights.

i know this isn’t my thread but can we lock any threads that go into spiraling bullshit like this? What would you rather have a man who supports his believes and donates to people he wants or a pedophile who molested a kid during his movies and only got 15 months in jail? People treat Scott like he’s evil all because he donated to people who aren’t all anti LGBT.

Fun fact, you can be against more than one thing at a time. The immediate reliance on whataboutism just makes it really obvious how indefensible Scott Cawthon is. Also, how very privileged of you to simply have the ability to dismiss the efforts of people trying to erode human rights for minorities as "spiraling bullshit". Fun fact, "supporting your believes and donates to people he wants" does not exclude you of the responsibility you bear for supporting, voting, and donating to politicians that try and tear away human rights for an already historically oppressed minority group. Fun fact, you can also be against the pedophile. Fun fact, supporting people that want to strip away human rights for systemically oppressed minority groups does make you a pretty trashy person.

They didn’t remove #########. Pay rates of non Caucasians have increased. Plus Scott donated to Pro LGBTQ community’s. Also Scott donating to Republicans had nothing to do with Gay and Trans rights!

Cut the intellectual dishonesty. Those politicians actively tried to fight for success, with the promise they'd work to tear down LGBT+ rights if they made it in. Luckily, they weren't able to get away with every single thing they tried to do. LGBT+ wellbeing still took a large hit from those that did make it as far as they did. And you are still responsible for what happens when you actively vote for and donate to people that actively promise they will try their best to strip away LGBT+ human rights. Donating to charities with zero legal sway is not even remotely comparable to donating to actual politicians who have the power to change legislation.

  • Because Scott Cawthon would still get royalties from it.

And he's a person that donated large sums of money to blatant anti-LGBT bigoted politicians that actively promised to try and strip away LGBT+ human rights. Before you bring up the charity, no, that is irrelevant. Donating to a charity with zero say over legislation is not equivalent to donating to extremely bigoted politicians that can and do have the power to try and change or add bigoted legislation, and actively use it to try and strip said human rights. No, "I have LGBTQ+ friends/coworkers" is not an excuse. No, him voting for economy does not matter. Economy improvements aren't helpful if minorities can't also benefit from them because they literally had basic human rights stripped away such as the right to work without being explicitly fired for being LGBT+. "I think the economy is more important than human rights" is not the gotcha you think it is.

What Scott did wasn’t wrong it’s his money he donates to who he wants! Also he has lots of friends who are LQBTQ. You think it’s ok for someone having a opinion getting harassed and having his wife and kids be tormented cause he donated to people he believes in?

Yeah donating money to anti-LGBT politicians who promise they will fight to try and strip LGBT+ human rights isn't wrong. My bad.

"I have LGBTQ+ friends" is not an excuse. Calling someone out for their bigotry is not harassment. People sending threats to his wife and kids are morons. These two things are not mutually exclusive. Yes, I believe Scott Cawthon deserves to be called out and dragged for his contributions to extremely bigoted politicians that literally try and remove human rights.

  • The Moon offerings were removed because the dimming ones were legitimately busted + the devs wanted specific better control of the lighting.

  • Would be a cool chapter if an anti-LGBT bigot doesn't get any royalties or income whatsoever from the chapter. Unfortunately, that's not the case, so I am morally and ethically against the chapter.

  • Something people need to factor in is that survivor started off extremely overwhelmingly overpowered back in 2016. Yes, killer did have problematic things as well like 0-hook Moris and 7 blink Nurse. But that is a large part of the reason why survivors have needed a lot more nerfs, because a lot more busted things needed to be removed or changed entirely.

Nowadays, the balance is pretty decently even-sided for everything except some of the highest levels of play that almost no one ever plays at anyways.

Its not about console or assisting you at all

Its literally there to make sure hits dont look weird so if you barely catch someone on the edge of the hitbox, it yanks your camera to the center of it instead so that hits look less floaty and more direct.

Except it yanks swings off-aim sometimes and makes them miss instead.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

    because of the BP mainly

I use a macro to automate both so I dont have to bother so the actual ergonomics of doing either is irrelevant to me

Uh, I hope you do realize that violates ToS and is bannable.

  • Positive (increasing something) effects are additive, negative effects (reducing something) are multiplicative. This is so stacked slowdowns don't make it practically impossible to do anything ever.

Refer to this post by McLean (a former dev) for a more detailed explanation: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/178984/#Comment_178984

  • The second best designed killer in the game. First being Nurse.

Makes chases very mindgame-intensive and skill-rewarding to learn maps and how the killer player plays and responding accordingly.

I consider Alchemist Ring to be overtuned, but other than that I don't have any issues whatsoever with Blight (other than lag flicks still existing because people figured out a new way after the last one was patched).

  • Like I've said, it's just difficult for BHVR because every single idea they've tested before was horribly abusable and had to be scrapped.

I dont care for consoles at all. This game is meant for PC. I played Nurse once as i started and after that 4 years not. Then i started doing an experiment on how hard she really is to learn. I played her a month for 2-3 games a day. I got easily into purple ranks. the following month i looked how far i can get in killer ranks. It was already felt "easy" enough to play against regular redranks, and not get stomped. So its really not htat hard even if you dont play much killer at all.

Ranks were garbage at determining and indicating skill level. That means basically nothing.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2779364#Comment_2779364

Truthfully, you don’t even need to play Nurse perfectly, you just need to play her well and you just can’t lose. I don’t care if she takes a long time to master, no killer should be able to win every game when mastered.

Sorry, but what you are saying is objectively false. The best Nurses against the best survivors averages out to ~2K when the survivors have a large number of handicaps and the Nurse has only very few handicaps. With zero restrictions on either side, her average drops even lower into the survivor’s favor. No killer can win every game when mastered against actually equally skilled opponents. The only issue here is MMR struggles to find matches for either side at that high of level of skill. There are very very few people that play at that level, so the option is either probably even matches that take hour long queues, or uneven matches so the queue goes quicker.

  • I’m equally fine with both. I’m glad good skillchecks help for accessibility purposes, but the great skillcheck zones should either be removed or not give additional wiggle progress (aka, only BP or whatever).

  • @GannTM said:

She may be hard to master but it’s inevitable that you’ll win every game as her if you do get good with her. I don’t think she’s healthy for the game right now because of how unbalanced she is.

Gonna just call out this falsehood right now. She is balanced at high levels of play. Furthermore, literally no one plays perfectly ever. There is always counterplay. If what you said was true, extremely good Nurse players wouldn’t average out to just ~2K against also extremely good survivors who are largely handicapped. With zero handicaps on either side, her average drops even lower.

  • Because she’s hyper difficult, and not everyone enjoys her playstyle.

  • There is no such thing as a toxic play style unless it’s being done for the specific purpose of trying to upset others. Trying to win is not toxic. Using the tools you are given in a game the ways they’re supposed to be used to try and win is not toxic.

There are no overpowered killers basekit currently. There are some problematic add-ons but that’s about it. Survivors are not meant to be offense-oriented. That is specifically why all offensive options are limited to map situational/consumable such as pallets, Flashbangs, limited situational perks like DS, etc. There are very few problematic perks on either side.

Reducing something like tunneling would require a massive fundamental rework of the game.

  • First off, “boring” is subjective.

Second, it’s irrelevant to balance anyways because it’s subjective. Whether or not someone thinks something is fun or boring has no determination of whether or not that thing is balanced. If it’s balanced and you don’t find it fun? Tough, get over it.

  • Dwight made Pinhead come.

  • Not a bug. Oblivious survivors are not considered to be inside a Terror Radius.

Sounds like you're making a big deal out of nothing. The hook spawns before the update could shave off or add a second getting to a hook, the wiggle timer being shaved off 1 second so that people with a disability can play the game sounds fair to me, and 1 second isn't that big of a deal.

It’s disingenuous and intellectually dishonest to imply great skillchecks are needed for accessibility.

  • I mean, the game literally did not finish loading. That is why it doesn't penalize DCing during loading. It doesn't hurt anyone. People DCing after the game actually fully loads in and starts screws it for everyone else.

  • It spawns 3 chains 3 times, and then a 12s break, and then repeats. Solve it in the break. Break the chains manually, not with environment.

  • The Twins nerf made no sense. A Blight/Nurse nerf also would make no sense.

  • @Lakshya01 said:

it's not game breaking , but it will make these perks more useful , every one running dead hard why because it has a secondary button si whenever they want they trigger it

The others aren’t on demand because they’d be disgustingly overpowered if they were lmao.

  • hell no, that would be literally game breaking levels of overpowered

  • There is no such thing as an unfair play style, excluding stuff that is against the game’s rules itself (cheating/exploiting unintended advantages/etc). If it’s intentionally in the game, it’s there because it’s meant to be used. That inherently makes it fair game to be used however a person sees fit (within the boundary of the rules).

  • Playing intentionally worse has no relation to any concept of fairness. Fairness is irrelevant. If it's intentionally in the game, it is meant to be an option. I have no clue why people act like fairness has any relevance in DBD. It is a multiplayer versus game. Using the tools literally meant to be used to try and do well is not unfair.

  • It will take them a while. BHVR has tested multiple ideas before in the past, and had to scrap them all because of how insanely abusable they were.

  • Liking or disliking anything in this game is fine. But some people in this thread need to quit acting like their like or dislike for a thing has any relevance to whether or not said thing is balanced.

  • The misinformation some people spread is amazing

  • What the heck? There’s a person inside my mirror? How did they get in there? Get them out.

  • There’s already a bug thread about this. BHVR has already acknowledged the bugs exist.

  • Lag flicks still exist because people found new ways to do them unfortunately. Other than that and Alchemist Ring though, Blight is perfectly balanced like the other two S-tier killers.

  • maybe it’s almost like fun is an entirely subjective standard that is irrelevant to balance

Unfun to face IN YOUR OPINION ≠ Unbalanced

  • The Internet has literally guides on how to face every killer, and threads like these still pop up. sigh.

  • This sort of thing is why no one takes forums balance suggestions seriously.

You missed the complete point all these politicians are in America yes what happens to those of the LGBTQ in different countries is awful but Scott cawthon is not one of those people. tell me if Scott was truly a Transphobe/Homophobe wouldn't fnaf have been left in the dust wouldn't we all have abandoned it? No scott made a post explaining his actions and thanks to sensitive softies like you. We lost possibly one of the best indie devs the world has ever seen. and plus may I remind you that again scott didn't donate to those charities for malicious reasons he donated to them because he was a republican and he wanted stronger borders and economies scott even said "that these politicians could have more things to say to the LGTBQ community" I personally feel that even if the politicians were elected they could not remove or change these laws because now they would be in US constitution. And before you say scott doesn't work with anyone lgbtq but the illustrator for his books is a lesbian

So to summarize if your gonna vote in this poll have an actual criticism like how fnaf would not fit into dead by daylight and don't have your reason for voting be political

Scott literally said he wasn't apologizing. Which is pretty insanely gross given he puts economy over human rights. Damn, I guess I'm a softie for supporting equal human rights for minorities. Well, guess I'm a softie then. Don't know why you think being sensitive or soft is a bad thing. It's called empathy, you should try it out sometime. Something being a constitutional right has never stopped bigots from trying to overturn it. It's also been changed literally 27 times. "I have LGBT+ friends/coworkers" is not an excuse. That makes him even worse for being who he is even though he literally has friends that would be directly affected by him supporting disgusting bigoted politicians. Human rights are not political. Politics is also not inherently bad. Get over it. It's a pretty good reason for not wanting a license in DBD, given it means the creator gets royalties (read: money).

  • Large donations and voting support for extremely bigoted politicians pushing for anti-LGBT+ policies and stripping away human rights.

  • @Gamerzilla2018 said:

You do realize that behavior is a Canadian company right?

Scott did not vote for the "Homophobic/Transphobic" politicians for that reason he voted for them were for things like border control and a better economy not to ######### on trans or gay people right? and behavior is a Canadian company so American politics does not impact there decisions regarding what licenses get in the game meaning fnaf can get in the game.

Gee whiz, I'm sure glad the economy MAYBE will get better as the politicians promised. Too bad it doesn't matter, cause they actively fight tooth and nail to strip away my rights so I can't enjoy the benefits of that economy. Also, since when is LGBT+ an American-only issue? Are you trolling? LGBT+ is global. Also it's really really convenient how you forgot he gave large donations to said anti-LGBT+ politicians that fight to strip away human rights. Before you bring up the moronic charity point, no, those are not equal. Donating to a charity with no legal power is not even remotely comparable to donating to politicians who actively have the power to strip away human rights.

  • Yeah, there's a bug thread for this atm.

  • Yes I wonder why a game that literally had a license paired into the base game makes you pay for a later obtained license later. It makes no sense.
