I'm seeing a ton of "it's your own responsibility to have fun" however when most of us have fun you call it toxic and cry here. Ohh they crouched and showed off that u couldn't catch them 😂 😂 it's only toxic when you suck and someone else isn't making it fun for you. Get over yourselves honestly, either you want this to be a fun game or you want this to be a game you can win, it'll never be both 🤷♂️

While someone is claiming there is punishment for DC I can confirm with the team I play with nightly there is ZERO punishment for DC. I've reported my own team quitting 9 games out of 10 a night because it's ruin, hillbilly, sprit etc... It is so irritating but I don't quit playing with my team because solo survive is worse than playing with quitters.
Tldr dead by daylight cannot punish DC on Xbox because it is an option they built in and on first punishment game pass would revoke them for breaking Microsoft tos! Point blank, until DC is removed from the menu, pressing start and pressing Y to quit were built in therefor encouraged. Other games to DC one must fully quit the game or unplug their internet..
Unfortunately DC also happens because a killer is lagging everyone out 1 in 6 matches on Xbox sometimes higher.
-
I'm finding the exact opposite at ranks 6 through 9 I cannot seem to get a team who wants to even touch gens until someone is being hit. Then survivors run the killer by us on gens. Sloppy butcher with thantaphobia slows us way down then ruin. I might get lucky 1 out of 10 matches and have a team doing gens but then we're against legion who's frenzy on everyone with thantaphobia and we can't do a thing. When I'm killer survivors rush me when I'm survivor killers kill us insanely fast. The matchmaking is the issue not the gens lol

It's actually funny that survivors say killers do this, yet I've had games where they'll all block hooks to stop me from hooking their friend. Sounds like you just got a super salty player who just doesn't like seeing that skull beside their name. I'd just laugh it off personally. It just shows how toxic the playerbase can be at times.
If survivors block you, you have a weapon to stop it. What weapon do survivors have to stop you? 😉

Jus had one of THEE longest matches I have ever had....against a decently coordinated group...no if any were SWF or not...but I whittled away at em really well until they effectively 3 Gen'd themselves and I played smartly enough to stop their entire progress...1 Gen was easily 70+% done and one at least 25-30%. So I def felt the pressure...without Dying Light getting stacks and def without Pop Goes The Weasel...I would've lost.
A lot of chases, mistakes made on both their side & mine...but eventuslly got to where I had em... I was down to Nea and Meg...both on death hook...thr Nea played a bit better so,I went after her...I never saw the Key in Meg's hand....in a ######### cornfield map...kinda hard to do. So I made the unforseen mistake of downing Nea....Hooked her...found the Hatch asap..closed it and, patrolled the Exit Gates....that lil weasel Meg waited till the LAST second and opened the Hatch.
Was a great and intense match...but Keys need to be more visible or Hatches should not be able to be opened once closed...was a bittersweet end that has me,laughing but a bit salty that after that ordeal, a bloody key jus undermined that whole end.....This is part of why more Killers resort to slugging...I,normally don't care..but after THAT long of a match, after all that intense work and quick thinking to stop a snowball happening...lil "neh neh neh nehhh" and Meg gets out...bleh xD
I just keep adrenaline on so when you slug to greedily slap the hatch closed before hooking me I jump and run and open the hatch. Be happy you got 3 and they couldn't find the hatch before more got out.
-
I'm survivor main and sometimes I really feel like the killers are insanely strong and survivor is nerfed until I hop on and do killer dailies and I either kill all 4 potatoes to boot or, and this happens a ton, the survivor is nearly impossible to catch. Good Ole claudette runs you and bloop just disappears into a wall. It's so bothersome that claudette is a go to. Swf, solo or killer nearly all 4 survivor weebs are claudette. I play ash and guess what, first to be found on a Gen and first to usually get harassed or mori. It blows because claudette is so hard to find.
Also heads up for toxic, it's trash on both sides. Killers camp and message GG ez but then cry here about how bad killers have it.
Survivors run train on you and they all 4 message about how you're a noob killer and trash even if you were just letting them live to do an easy daily.
Bottom line, there's a ton of trashing on both sides and nice players like us get the brutal end of the toxic nightmares.
As killer face camp the toxic ones and DC on the tea bagging survivors at the exit.
As survivor do your best to play it out and give up the location of toxic teammates.
You'll never come out ahead if you think anyone's going to be as nice as you. No one has the same heart you give out, same with relationships little buddy 😉
-
Just here to read why more people just want survivors on hook the second the match starts
-
It's been happening in Xbox and no other device or Xbox loses the connection until in dead by daylight and we don't lose party chat so it's fully a Dbd issue
-
Ide trade that build in for borrowed time and decisive strike to be base on all survivors. True anti tunnel
-
How does console get in on this?
-
What's with it only working once? If you hit me within one minute of leaving the hook you're tunneling and ds should kick in. It shouldn't be a perk it should be built in to every single survivor

It’s an anti tunneling perk, if you never get to use D Strike it’s already doing it’s job.
No, it isn't working. Directly off the hook no option for it or lag is so hard I'm already hooked before the skill check is ocmpelted
-
People keep saying matchmaking is fixed and you only play large rank misses because of SWF however I'm rank 13 killer always matched with 7 to rank 4 survivors and I'm rank 5 survivor matched against rank 1 to 4 killers. Matchmaking is fully broken
-
People keep saying you only play blue rank because they are swf. What's this mean then?
-
Ifs not working at all currently
-
When you see a mori you can almost guarantee you'll be tunneled and camped. It's not fun and no one is forcing me to play slated bad games. Also have to love killers who DC when the exit gates open. Quitting is awful but if the devs want to stop the end game derank and refund items on quitting I can't find any issue going forward 🤷♂️

While I understand that there does need to be a closed gap between solos and SWFs, voice comms is not it.
With voice comms, every single Killer will be nerfed, in a manner of speaking. Let me give a few examples.
Billy Gets Hooked.
With Voice Comms: I'm going to unhook Billy! You two continue to work on gens. The one near Killer's shack is 90% done!
Or, as the hooked Billy: The Killer is Wraith! They stopped moving 2 feet from me & went 100% invisible! They are camping! They have not moved at all! Don't come near!
Without Voice Comms: I need to go unhook Billy! Crap! XKillerzX was ALSO moving to unhook Billy! Only 1 person is doing gens! And the Killer has a better chance of downing one of us! The Killer was hiding nearby and we did not know it!
Hag/Trapper Puts Down Traps.
With Voice Comms: Yeah, the traps are by the 2 gens I was working on, and by my left foot on the hook. Come from the right!
Without Voice Comms: *Triggers Trap when trying to save someone/work on a gen*
Killer Is In A Chase.
With Voice Comms: The Killer is chasing me! It's a Pig! She's over by the Killer Shack/Gas Mart/Whatever! Ok, now she's moving towards you guys! Bail! *Killer never finds anyone due to 30+ seconds of forewarning*
Without Voice Comms: I wonder where the Killer is..I need to keep my head on a swivel-oh CRAP! She's right next to me! I'm hit!
See what I mean? Voice comms simply neuter every single Killer doing virtually any action. We can't stop SWF using them, but there would be basically no reason to ever play Killer, or ever have fun as Killer, if every single group had voice comms & could either just avoid, or even bully, the Killer.
The killer is camping me on hook, kindred already covers that.
Idk if the killer is by me, spine chill covers that
Everything you have an issue with a perk handles and just because there's voice chat doesent end perk use

Essentially if you destroy a portal you have Mike Myers coming for you. The bonus to destroying a portal is no terror radius effects. If you keep your eyes on the killer then destroying a portal will become a bonus for survivors. ☺

Stay in green ranks then if you wanna mess around and have fun.
Lmfao because you can only have fun in green? 😂 😭 😭 😭 🤣 🤣
-
Everyone has great ideas like hey use this and that and these 3 perks but then survivors still have to counter camping/tunneling etc. There's no end in sight for survivors unless it's 4 man swf and then the killer barely has a chance. It's wild on the ranking and balancing. Put camping killers with locker hatch camping survivors and it'll force them out to play or it'll drone on for an hour of literally hide and seek. I like to blow gens, run from the killer, get downed, wait and hope someone comes to heal me instead of popped in the basement and guess who's on the steps until I die while 3 randoms hide in lockers waiting their turn. Game was stupid fun in green ranks lol. Killers ran around, scared you, chased you and everyone had a laugh. Now killers want you to be salty because they murked everyone in 4 mins. Yay that was a waste.
TLDR there isn't enough perk slots to build for everything everyone says use to fix an issue. Survivors are sol if they go solo.
-
To remove toxicity they'll need to first penalize teammates who pull in front of killer and refuse to take hit and pass points to the one who got tunneled. Then take chase points and pass them off to the survivor who's passed the killer etc. Until points even out the trolls etc toxicity will stick around about builds etc... Don't run borrowed time and get your team killed for points? Well it's their points now ☺
-
@JoannaVO said:
In what rank do you play? Hardly doubt it's red ranks.
I've recently broken into reds. This is the impossible area I suppose but not quite. I still run into insanely too easy here when going against the nurse or Billy. Pop into rank 6 and I'm going to town on wraith, Myers, Freddy. Swf seems the more boring route while solo seems the most fun. Reading through the forum however has pointed me to swf with comms wasn't the point of the game so it makes sense it'd be way too easy. It almost pans out to Spirit reds impossible everyone else too easy reds.
-
Just make DS base for all survivors. Get off the hook and hit instantly? Bam stun the killer who hit you right off the hook for 6 seconds. They'll get better aim or stop camping/tunneling. Slug someone down and leave them down over a minute? Start deducting points. No survivor enjoys laying on the ground to bleed out while the killers runs off and sleeps in a corner or humps you for the timer. There's definitely ways the game can penalize toxic behavior however it encourages it.
-
If he's being toxic in chat that's room enough to ban him before you get banned. You know he's doing it but still allowing it, you will also deserve the ban 😂 😂
-
Survivors would be less toxic if they got the same treatment back. When every game a killer is standing in the middle of a hatch forcing the survivor to leave the door to be killed it gets old. Or when a killer slaps you down at a door after opening and picks you up and spins you around until the entity comes. The good ole hump from leather face happening nearly every leather face match where instead of murking he reaches down and humps you. Yeah, toxic swf happens because of all of that and trust, we remmeber you from when we survive alone. ☺
-
Friend rank 18 people, play the game hiding them. That's fun. Poke gens and make it a goal to not let the randoms die. Good luck ☺

I would rather spend 10min in a laggy game than 30min in the lobby waiting. Providers don't always give you the full speed your paying for and there are tons of other factors that can affect a connection.
Or, stay with me. Host can be given to the best internet connection connected like every other good game in 2019. Game loads, checks ping and upload speed, realizes only 1 person or no person will have a bad connection if host is passed to X instead of Y and now lag is fixed. Again, if people stop playing because they cannot have host because they are lagging matches, ✌🏽.
There is no logical reason to cry for and demand host on bad internet unless you can only win via lagging matches out. I've had killers in my inbox just last night saying they'd have had the win if their internet didn't DC the entire match. I have a feeling a lot of you failed to read what I wrote, don't understand Xbox console issues and think I'm requesting you be banned over just taking your host away. I'm not the least bit surprised by the responses though. In a quest for people to always be right or blame someone else, they have failed to take notice that I've simply requested host go to the person in the match who can in fact handle it.

@ABannedCat said:
Mate, if you lag in 9 out of 10 games, I can 100% assure you, its on your end, not on the killer's end.
When I play survivor, on my 8mbps WLAN connection, I lag in maybe 1/20th of my games maximum. Barely any killer has bad connection nowadays. The only ones who lag are on wireless, and physically too far away from their access point to prevent packet loss (other side of their house, usually with multiple rooms weakening the signal).
Taking a look at my data usage when hosting a match myself, the most I get is 48kbps download, and 16kbps upload. Dead by Daylight is really ######### lightweight when it comes down to the Internet requirements.
Almost everyone is wireless on Xbox. I direct ethernet in because wifi has so much lag. Someone did mention the everyone seeing ping at the start of the match and that has now limited a lot of laggy games but many are still showing 100ms ping and when the console has to render the groahics in chases, when the killer arrives to an area, people pop out behind trees. I've yet to lag a match as killer to date. I've gotten so many messages thanking me for not lagging the game out that I'm starting to see this isn't a me problem but a huge problem that happend after this game was put on game pass on Xbox one.
-
I'm thinking everyone forgot to read the first line of my post and just went on with a fit. Carry on with assumptions though. They're losing thousands not wanting to play because of bugs, lag etc. It was so bad they had to put it on game pass free hoping more would come be survivors.
If forcing a fair game kills the game, kill it 💯

Btw, you're asking for this while the average upload speed in, for example, the U.S. is below 10.
You're also asking for this while some people only have one provider for their area, and not all providers provide such an upload rate.
I said thousands before, right?
Well, I change my mind: With you making that change, you'd outright kill the game.
I'm asking host be removed from garbage internet. That's all I'm asking. Prove you can host or take it away. You're acting as if I'm requesting you be banned from playing for having bad internet. I'm not. I'm requesting only you suffer for your internet. It's a simple concept really 🤷♂️

I'm a server technician and it dawned on with this quote right here, that you haven't got the SLIGHTEST clue how the internet works!
"Would it be unfair penalization or would it be fair to all players? Seems a tad unfair to grab host spot knowing you cannot handle it honestly. The minimum specs to play online is 5mbps so even if we went with minimums for all 5 players per Xbox reccomendations, host couldn't be had under 25mbps."
Let me point out a few flaws in your thinking:
1) That minimum speed isn't a minimum speed, it's the minimum speed to have a relatively enjoyable experience with downloading games / updates - You could easily play online with no lag on a 0.5Mb internet connection - Hell, I've played with no lag whilst tethered to an iPhone 3Gs which has a maximum speed of around 300Kbps!
2) That 5Mb per player you speak of which means the killer needs 25Mb - The packets uploaded by the game are tiny, you're probably looking at about 64KB/s if that (and yes, that is factoring in the killer being the "server" - If it was dedi servers you'd be uploading about 8KB/s) There is NO game in the world that uploads data at 5Mb/s - Thats a 720p Twitch stream right there!
3) Latency is NOT caused by the speed of your internet connection, it is caused by how far that data has to travel - If you are in the USA and you are playing with someone in Europe, no matter whether you have 1Mb upload or 500Mb upload, the latency is going to be pretty much the same - The packets have to travel through thousands of miles of cable, switches and servers, it is this that is going to slow it down!
Go onto Speedtest.net and run a speed test to a server close to where you live and take a look at the ping - Then start picking servers further and further away and you will see that your latency starts to increase
How many byte packets is dbd sending per second?
-
"Speed isn't an issue, only ping and distance is" stream you playing on dialup, I'll wait.

I wish distance were true. Again I'm in the southern US and have zero issues with friends in sweeden or Canada. I have more problems connecting to a friend in Southern Texas. Yes if you have incredibly slow internet your neighbor connecting to you is going to lag. The minimum raccomendarion by Xbox to get online is 1mbps. Minimum. That's not for even an average gaming experience. Upload is what matters in hosting. Sure ping distance plays a role and so does horrid internet speeds which many will figure out on dedicated servers. I honestly can't wait for dedicated servers to in turn watch a majority of you lose if because your 5mbps won't handle it 😂 😂

Ping arises primarily due to the physical distance the information has to travel. You can upload however much information you want per second, but the speed at which the information travels will still be equal to or less than the speed of light. This is physics.
Not sure on the distance part. When a friend in Canada is matched as killer I've had zero issues and he shows a ping around 70 for me to him at 50mbps. Another friend one state south lands killer on 20mbps and ping is 250. Distance isn't seeming to be a factor there.

Serious question, can someone tell me where to find rules against a DC? I'm new, maybe a month in and a DC is an option in game. Press start, press y on Xbox and you leave the match and lose all points. Other games to DC you have to restart your Xbox or unplug your internet. It seems with being able to press start and y the devs wanted this option for everyone.

Oh no, I had no idea. That's insane. So it just falls on needing dedicated servers? The reason for my skeptisim is I see so many saying they've never encountered lag or bugs here and I'm liek, wow what kind of horrid luck do I have? It's honestly keep me more out of killer roles when everyone is connected to my network because I didn't want people thinking I was lag switching if everyone hits my network mid game and bogs me down lol

The biggest thing I'm reading is, "I cannot get internet over 20mbps that would be unfair". To that I say, remove host, can't have host and want to host laggy matches, that's unfair to 4 other people. Should 1 suffer or 4? Sounds like the weight of fairness falls for the 1 currently 😔

It's a bug not a ping issue your pointing out in that gif. Just like cant be healed on occasion. Those are confirmed bugs.
That gif only happens when there is lag in a match. Has never happened on a clean connection. Bug = lag in this scenario unless you can point out the exact issue.

Yikes on bikes dude calm down. I didn't know you could see your own ping, host gets to see everyone's ping. After reading this I have a 60 ms ping to the laggy matches tonight so it's definitely not ping at loading 😂 😂

Still the thing is that problem is not that common. I see it here and there, but overall most of my matches are quite consistent. Even if people had to pass a test then it would be a requirement on both sides and substantially start to impact the game and push people out. I've had horrible ping survivors who wont leave a lobby and they had well over 200 ping while the other 3 had amazing ping.
Also not sure why your trying to brag about your wifi.
It's not a wifi brag, it's a statement of what I have and dbd being the only game that raises ping. If any tech folks are here they can see what I'm running, what ping is and make an assertarion over it. I didn't say, haha I've got the best routers, cat 99999 dropped through my walls darn noobs can't afford internet did I? Don't be so upset you're likely one of the lagers if you have such an issue about me wanting fair matches.
Me personally, I'm bored of this happening in the gif as a survivor. Maybe you're okay with it? Some folks need free kills others can get them fairly ☺

I've had 3 cool killers so far who noticed it bad and let us do gens. On escape you don't escape you go to a field and fall off the map then die from the entity
-
I have a constant 1gb upload speed, everyone who connects to me in gow has a 32 ms ping while me as host has 23 ms ping. I understand there are variables etc. Something has to be done because this isn't just happening to me but literally every random and teammate I have from the UK, Sweeden, US and CA we lag insanely bad. When I get host in dbd the average ping to me is 68 ms a higher ping with really no rationale. This game is the highest ping I've ever had someone connect and still haven't had anyone lag as killer. It's just unfortunate to derank when you have no control over the issues such as lagging out or not being able to move. I know killers have to notice the person they're hooking just isn't wiggling etc however I'll notice they see no wiggle and walk across the map to the basement 😂

I thought we were discussing balance issues. DCing has no bearing on balance for the same reason we don't take cheaters into account.
Why is DC on par with cheating? Much like bad killers say tunneling and face camping are part of the game, so is DC. DC is an option put by developers that should be utilized against face camping, toxic tunnelers who hump you. If they didn't want it they would make you pull the plug and start over like every other game, however a DC is simply pushing start and Y. I learned it from many killers who DC when 3 gens pop during their face camps ☺
