    @Splinterverse

Because many people don't wanna play those perks, apparently.

They want an auto-slow down but won't be happy until it is Forever Freddy slow, kinda slow.

The day that happens is the day survivors quit en masse. That would be tantamount to saying "You suck as killer so we're going to nerf everything to make it easy for every killer to 4k."

  • Oh when will posts with this topic end? It's like there's a new one every day.

There are SO many perks that slow down the gens. Ruin, Lullaby, Thanataphobia, etc. Use them.

Also, put pressure on gens and use map offerings to help enable you to do that.

The gen speeds are fine. I've seen plenty of wins and losses with them just the way they are. Use the above tips and things will improve for you.

Genrush exists. It means you priotize gens over everything.

But since its the survivors objective, no one should complain.

It does NOT exist. There is nothing else to prioritize other than sitting around doing nothing. You have to do gens. The only time you don't have to is to rescue someone. Totems and chests and deliberately getting in chases does NOT count as an objective because they are not.

  • Honestly, "gen rush" is BS. The only thing survivors have to do to escape is generators (followed by unhooks if needed). That's it. We don't have to do chests. We don't have to do totems. If you don't like it, blame BHVR instead of telling survivors they are "gen rushing."

  • If you're having issues, consider using an Xbox controller instead. That's what I use and it works great. The only challenge I have with it is when it chooses the wrong priority. For example, when a downed survivor is next to a pallet I have to carefully make sure that I'm pressing the button for heal instead of drop the pallet. This happens with a vault next to a chest or locker as well. The priority is often given to the locker or chest rather than the vault, which can be bad. Hopefully, they'll fix that eventually.

  • OP -- no, no, no. Killers already have bloodlust. Any decent killer can catch up to a survivor. If they can't, they need to get gud.

  • I don't blame the survivors for leaving. When moris are offered, the killer typically tunnels just so they can watch a stupid animation that they can watch on YouTube on demand. Until moris no longer encourage tunneling, I encourage survivors to DC on load.

  • No, Legion is annoying enough as it is. They need to completely rework him so that he does something else other than cause mending. It is dull, dull, dull, and becomes increasingly obnoxious with gen slowdown perks.

  • Lithe -- it's the best exhaustion perk since Dead Hard is buggy. Sprint Burst requires management to 99 it and encourages folks to not run. Balanced is pretty nerfed on a lot of maps. If you just look for a nearby vault point when you work a gen, totem, etc., you can use it consistently.

Empathy -- it's map wide and gives you a ton of information. It's a great replacement for self-care as you can find people who need healing and have them heal you. It also shows you where the action is occurring on the map. It's especially useful against Legion and Plague who almost always have folks in a state of injury. And, if anyone runs No Mither, you can keep an eye on them all game (I don't recommend No Mither, but in solo you sometimes see it).

Urban Evasion -- I know people troll folks who run it, but it has saved my team so many times. You can use it to get through Tunnelhead's poop. You can use it to pick up the slugged for 4k survivor without being spotted. You can also juke barbecue easily by running 1 direction and urbaning another after 4 seconds.

Iron Will -- killers expect you to make sounds when they injure you. Iron Will gives you the opportunity to make them have to work harder to find you. Combine it with things like Lithe and you can get away and not be found. Remember, if a killer is looking for you and not finding you, that is just as good as chase time.

  • He needs to not be able to cancel out of his power without penalty. We also need to have the ability to kobe in cages.

  • Empathy is way better. It's map-wide. It also replaces self-care since you can use it to heal folks or find them to be healed as well.

  • I work in I.T. and I feel like the bug with the cake and the bug with having to add Steam friends to play together indicate that BHVR isn't using source control effectively. It feels like people are colliding into code that shouldn't really be touched based on the patch notes. With proper source control, pull requests against the stored code with peer review, and proper testing, these kinds of things can be avoided. I realize that there are much tighter timelines in gaming I.T., but still, source control can help tremendously.

  • Yeah. In the early days of the event, I got cakes on every web and 1 flashlight after like 4 or 5 webs.

I was not seeing the medkit at all. Sure enough, as soon as I escaped with one from a match, the very next bloodweb had one.

Those are the only ones I've encountered and I'm like 15 bloodwebs in at this point. :(

  • Noed needs to be changed to have exposed only last for a set period of time (60 secs?) OR it needs to be lit the whole match OR a totem counter needs to be added to the HUD.

  • That would be totally rad!

  • I agree with you.

DH -- doesn't work properly half the time (and it causes exhaustion).

DS -- most killers wait it out

BT -- doesn't work on killers with no terror radius. It works better if only 1 to 2 members of the team run it at most.

SB -- sucks unless you are really skilled with using it (you have to 99 and not be afraid to run)

I prefer things like Lithe and Empathy.

Let me also say I hate Resilience or perks that encourage not healing up. I've seen so many teammates not heal only to go down quickly in their next chase. It's not worth it.

  • No. The change should be one of these (1) the exposed status effect lasts for 60 seconds (or some reasonable number) or (2) the noed totem is lit the entire match.

And before you killer mains quote me . . . it does need a nerf. Don't tell me to do bones. That's not reliable in solo survivor without a totem counter in-game.

  • No, what he needs is for kobes to be allowed on cage if it is your first hook/cage. Also, he needs to not be able to cancel out of his power without a penalty. Fix those two things and he will not be as OP as he is now.

  • I agree with you, but get ready for the endless killer main comments. This forum and reddit are dominated by them.

  • I hear (and feel) this with Legion. His power causes you to have to mend and/or heal almost the entire match. Given that those actions are not very exciting and generator repair isn't that thrilling either, the whole experience is a big bore. Legion's entire power should be changed to something more interesting that doesn't involve literally being bent over the whole match.

  • My recommendation is to play SWF on the official discord (or elsewhere). It's a lot less common for someone to suicide when they're on comms with you.

Bro do you realise what your saying is stupid as fck like it's so survivor bias all of you just complain and constantly whinge about how you cant get easy killers to face plus we needed a killer that stops op perks like ds and looping needed to be addressed beside all the good survivors are easily beating him so the problem is your just bad not to mention you cant just be allowed to run to the shack or meat tree everytime the killer comes over that's just boring and op so he is balanced and should stay the way he is

Yeah. You could copy/paste this on any survivor complaint. Again, it's all killer mains. I could say the same thing and say that killers aren't good enough at taking on survivors so they need OP killers to get the job done. As I said in my post, the devs are killer-focused and it shows. Your post just enables that.

For the record, I'm always rank 1 as survivor soon after reset and have beaten the new killer multiple times. I'm not really talking about him here (even though I do think he needs some changes). I'm talking about the pointlessness of even sharing any survivor thoughts because it goes nowhere.

Not true, at least for the most part of it isn't. I don't know about Reddit because I don't go there anymore. It was literally nothing but bad memes.

It IS true. Every survivor-sided post ends up with endless replies from killer mains saying, "No it's not OP," "No, it's fine as is", etc. And any complaints in the general discussion get moved to feedback to hide them. It's a joke.

  • While I agree with the OP, I don't know why they bothered posting. These forums and reddit are dominated by killer mains. The devs have shown that they prefer killer over survivor since that's what they play as well. They won't listen until large amounts of survivors leave this game or stop spending money on it.

  • As a survivor main, Pop is not too strong. You know the killer has it when you see the orange sparks and if you are hooked away from a gen, it encourages the killer to leave the hook.

What sucks is when killers run thanataphobia + dying light + pop etc. and the gen speed is literally nil. Combos like that are what need to be nerfed. You pretty much can't play the game at that point.

  • OP -- the map is not survivor-sided. It's actually the opposite. The whole map is just walls walls walls with no generators in the rooms. Most of the gens are in the hallways or outside. Add to that, that there are next to no vaults so Lithe is useless.

You can't find gens either (other than to just check hallways). At least Lerys' has flashing door signs to let you know a gen is inside.

I feel like they went for aesthetics and matching the original Silent Hill rather than making this map fun for anyone.

So, we're burning mad map offerings to avoid it until it's rotation returns to normal.

  • There are three components and it needs to be reduced to 1 or 2 for it to be reasonable:

    1. Instant hooking via cage
    2. Countering a crap ton of perks
    3. No kobe attempts

Remove 1 or more of those or watch the survivors quit in droves . . .

  • It's honestly BS that he gets an instant hook + counter to so many perks + no kobe attempts. Some part of that combination needs to go and it needs to go yesterday.

  • There are no vaults. It makes Lithe useless. They need to fix it ASAP!

  • The new map has next to no vaults. It needs to be reworked as it makes perks like Lithe useless.

  • If there wasn't the chance that someone could get downed and need saved, that would be fine, but it doesn't work that way. EGC is killer-sided enough as it is, so best to just get over it honestly.

  • The VPN exploit needs to be fixed like yesterday. It causes so much lag in games and works to the killers advantage. Every time you get near the killer, your screen freezes up and you can't do much except lose. It needs correction ASAP.

  • As a survivor, you don't have to be aggro right away. It's okay to be stealth and cause the killer to spend 2 minutes looking for you at the gen he thought he saw you on with barbecue. That's almost as good as a chase and you don't get injured doing it. You'll get your chance to loop when the killer finally spots you -- no need to rush it!

Hex Ruin is almost as annoying as it was originally.

I'm a survivor main. If you can't address the arguments, it's best to keep quiet than insult people.

I did address the arguments in my OP (re: keys). Ruining a person's game by tunneling with a mori just to see an animation that can be watched on YouTube is absolutely childish. Call it an insult if you want, but that's just how it is.

  • Most of these killer main responses are missing the point . . . it's not the moris that are the problem. It's the mori PLUS tunnel that is the problem. Just because some 12-year-old wants to see an animation so bad that he's willing to ruin another player's game by literally tunneling them. Moris don't have to go if they can be changed to remove the ability to tunnel with it. The suggestions in the OP address that.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1334737#Comment_1334737

Where to begin... In no particular order:

    • Moris are rarely used. I see them maybe once every few days. Nerfing them further would just make them worthless.
    • Moris are one of the few things that make survivors scared of being chased and hooked, as well as the killer in general. I like that thrill, that's why I purchased this horror game in the first place.
    • Moris have awesome animations, for the most part.
    • Moris are killer-specific things, it makes sense that they should benefit the killer. Keys benefit survivors as well, but the only negative thing you'll hear me say about those is that they can spawn in chests.
    • Survivors may not have ultra-rare offerings that make repairing gens faster, but they do have items and add-ons that do that, meaning they can use the offering slot for something else. White Wards, for example.
    • Killers only have one offering slot, whereas survivors have a combined 4, so killer offerings should indeed bring them greater benefits than any individual survivor offering.

You may disagree with them, but those are (some) of the reasons why I think they're fine as they are.

They're not fine. The animations can still be used. They don't have to be moved.

  • I'd be fine with it as long as it wasn't tied to the normal ranking system. I would definitely play it if it weren't.

  • I do feel like the VPN issue needs to be addressed and soon. It is honestly an exploit and should be treated as such including a rushed fix.

  • Spamming arms = killer is camping or near hook

Single flail of arms = no survivor is coming for unhook so someone should

No arm movement = killer is not near

Struggling = hurry up and unhook

  • I heard someone say that you send always cleanse for some reason. Something about the fountains? Anyone know?

Also, how long does the red power last on her?

  • What Legion needs is to be completely redone with a new power that doesn't rely on mend/heal to counter. He can still vault or run fast, but the mending/healing nonsense needs to go. It is the most boring thing to play against, and yes, there are perks like thanata that make it even worse.

  • I play a lot of red rank games as survivor and I see a mixture of killers doing well. Pretty much any killer can do well if they've refined their build (including add-ons). I wouldn't say that any killer is out of the running really.

  • They can't nerf or get rid of SWF especially after having it be available for so long. There are a lot of people that would leave the game if they did that, which means there would be no game to play (or a dying one if it remains).

Just do what you can to get better and know that not every match will be SWF.

  • OP don't worry about it. They're also talking about making your progression transfer from each platform. You could switch to PC easily in that scenario. And, as others have said, hacking is pretty rare. (I've been playing a lot for 3 years on PC and have only seen it 3 times, so that's basically once per year.)

  • Here's my thoughts on this issue . . .

The issue with moris (to me) is the tunneling that almost always accompanies them. Moris need to require that another person be hooked between the mori'ed survivor's hook and mori kill. In other words, if the mori allows the killer to kill a survivor who has been hooked and you get hooked, then the killer would have to hook someone else before he can mori you. That would at least prevent you from being tunneled unless you are farming or deliberately trying to get the killer's attention.

The issue with keys (to me) is killers feeling like it's unfair and/or solo survivors getting screwed by their fellow survivors abandoning them. To fix that, I would recommend that keys ONLY work when one survivor remains alive and the rest are gone (beit dead or escaped). Then, the killer could choose to patrol gates and hatch or not.

Beyond that, we could change it so that you can't bring in a key, but you can find them in chests and they are lost when the match ends. That way the odds of seeing them would be lower and you wouldn't get tunneled for entering with one. I'd be okay with that additional change if we could get a minimum distance between exit gates that is actually doable for a survivor to escape. With so many invisible, terror radius-less, teleporting, trapping killers, escaping EGC is rough, but if the gates had to always be at least a reasonable distance apart, I could see it being more fair. The killers would still have the advantage in that situation especially if they have traps or teleports, but it would maybe balance it out a bit.

  • I appreciate you thinking outside the box, but I don't think this is a good idea for DBD. It's already a living nightmare to get every perk to rank 3 on a character, but to then be restricted from using them too? No thanks. If perks become too meta and ruin the game, they need to nerfed OR new perks need to be developed to entice players away from the meta ones they hold dear OR new perks developed to counter the meta.

  • Bots would be good. I liked what I saw on the stream for the mobile. I hope they expand the bot feature to PC. But if they do, they need to do it for suicides AND disconnects, not just disconnects.

  • Here's my thoughts on this issue . . .

The issue with moris (to me) is the tunneling that almost always accompanies them. Moris need to require that another person be hooked between the mori'ed survivor's hook and mori kill. • Even if the group were an SWF, it doesn't mean they were intentionally smurfing. I've been playing a lot on the official Discord channels lately and what I've noticed is that people create SWF rooms and then whomever pops in to the room, pops in. So you might have a room created with two red ranks and then in walks a rank 20. The group plays together, but didn't advertise for that rank 20 to join. Yes, there are some that do, but in my experience, I've only seen it once in the 3 days I've been playing on Discord like all day long.

  • I hope it's Pinhead if it's not Jason. One thing that no one has touched on is the gold in the 4 logo and the rest of the art . . . the Hellraiser cube has a lot gold like that on it as well. Seems like it would be perfect for an anniversary killer.
