  • People would have to get a full memory wipe of the entire Chess Merchant era to stop DCing.

  • People will throw a hissy fit against her regardless of what her power will be.

    A sad, unfortunate truth.

  • It's sad that they chose the easy, but controversial and potentially damaging solution, when they could have done anything else.

    • The old quick play feature could have been brought back, maybe also with a small iri shard reward for using it, so there is a motivation for it.

    • The 400% BP bonus could have been brought back, and the BP gains in game could be increased.

    • They also could have made it so playing a set amount of survivor matches gives you a priority ticket next time you queue up as killer.

And so much more could have been done.

  • Laurie, Nick Cage

    Leon, Zarina

    Quentin, Cheryl

  • The first big issue for most new players will be getting enough BP offerings to have the bloodpoints needed to progress.

And also, getting Iridescent Shards is a pain.

  • One more from me.

Despite the dedication and skill of most comp and high level killers, balancing purely around them would make this game unplayable for ~80% of the playerbase and cause most of it to quit, potentially destroying the game as a whole.

While they're at it fix dropping a flashbang inside a killers model. Stupid how you can be looking at a wall and still get blinded by it.

doesn’t even have to be in your model, I’ve had survivors drop the flashbang right next to me on the right or left side while im facing a wall and since the blast radius is like a bubble I still get blinded.

    That's a separate problem.

One thing that could affect it is the FOV, since it works in an odd way and just scooches your camera back instead of actually increasing it. And since it makes your camera go back a bit, it may be creating space it shouldn't.

  • BHVR, please have mercy and don't do this.

Yeah, my friend was asking where the zodiac charms are this year. We need the gold snake and red snake disc charms.

    Yes.

  • This could be a cool, map specific feature, like the Forgotten Ruins portals or Nostromo Wreckage pipe traps.

    I like it!

  • I have several ideas.

    • First, a quickplay feature. Press it, and get a random role. Not sure if many would use it, but still, it could help. It could also come with a bloodpoint, or even a small iri shard bonus.

    • Rewards for playing the survivor role (a priority queue ticket for playing several survivor games, the sweet 400% bloodpoint bonus, higher bloodpiont gains in game.... ).

    • New classes for survivor. Having only 4 is a bit restrictive.

    • Maybe a preference system, like FT13: The Game had, where you can only select the role you prefer. This could be an unpopular thing though, so it's more of a last resort.

  • They had many options, for example:

    • Use a quickplay system for people that don't care which side they get.

    • Make it so after playing multiple survivor matches, you get a priority in queue as a reward.

    • Make the bloodpiont gains on survivor bigger (400% incentive, higher overall bloodpint gains in game...)

    • Take an example out of FT13: The Game and make it so you can only have a set preference on which role you want to play.

But no, we have to put bots in to make it a 2v5 or 2v6.

  • Houndsense should also make scratch marks denser, so they are easier to track, should increase the amount of blood pools and should make survivor sounds louder.

The Search radius is okayish, it could be bigger, but I'd like to have an add-on that does that. Ship Figurehead should also make the lullaby radius of the dog smaller.

  • The game died because it was stuck in legal hell for half of it's life cycle.

  • @SkeletalElite said:

The only even remotely compelling reason to remove them was that map prevention system would not work for variants however now that map protection has been changed into realm protection, this is no longer a reason.

The maps are weighted to have similar appearance rates to a single map with no variants, badham historally has a weighting that is significantly lower than other maps. These variants create additional gameplay variety, and now that there is realm protection instead of map protection there is pretty much zero reason to remove them, and yes people can tell apart the badham variants, they all have a very distinct shape, just because you haven't bothered to learn that doesn't mean that's the case for everyone.

The gameplay variety they give is not that big, imho.

I mean, who asked for MORE MacMillan maps when there are 5 already?

  • If anyone has an idea of a rework for Dark Theory, I'd be glad to hear it. The one I proposed is pretty much a placeholder.

  • That's the main issue with solo Q.

You get these kinds of specimens no matter your skill.

if it just didn't have the black sclera I could MAYBE get behind it at least for Yun, Nea, and Jeff. But Jake's doesn't even make sense according to the cosmetics lore >:(!!!

Purple eyes could've been cute if they didn't turn up the saturation and make the sclera black and I will stand on this!!!

Jake lowkey looks more like Ace.

I rather see them do what other games do, you can't choose role only preference. But anyway last time my queques were instant in 1vs4 and around 5 minutes in 2vs8 in the last week so I think solving is not that difficult. Most killers switch back to playing survivor too once the novelty wears off. Problem is the less populated regions that don't have many players in the beginning.

So, making it like Friday the 13th?

    Hmm. That could work.

Although I don't know if players would be happy with only a random chance of being a killer.

  • They have to improve the tutorial asap. It's outdated. They should also have detailed explanations of each killer power in the game manual. The fact you have to go to the DbD wiki to get a clear image is concerning.

They should also make a change to the MMR so it also takes your actions in the trial into account.

  • So, bringing this one up again, since we just got new servers in North America and Europe.

Would it be possible to also add Middle East and Africa servers?

    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/1ii29fd/comment/mb25h5u/?context=3

    Yeah, found it.

I just don't get that they didn't also get a Middle East server, considering the amount of people asking for it.

  • Did they add new ones?

    When?

  • The game is starting to get bloated with content that is incomplete or buggy (ahem... ahem... Houndmaster).

3 releases per year with no mid-chapters would be ok.

Agree with the take that original chapters are mostly better. The licenses are nice, but they end up feeling very similar.

  • How many releases do we have between now and the FNAF chapter?

  • Eh, I kinda like it.

But I'm the kind of person who refuses to buy cosmetics, so anything free is good. :)

  • Yes, I agree.

„See you in the fog“, yeah, what fog?

This makes 0 sense brother. Invocations can be started by 1 person and finished by another. If you remove the negative effects it loses the essence of invocation perks.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3880254#Comment_3880254

First of all, it's not innovation, it's invocation. It's a perk that gives you a great advantage in exchange of a greater disadvantage. Not all perks need to be give me speed, give me 2nd chance, give me more time in the hook etc. There are more than 140 survivor perks yet everyone use the same meta all the time. When you say "me and my 4 man know how to loop" I can imagine what perks you use all the time. If you know how to loop why are you scared of being broken?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3880225#Comment_3880225

Yes, well as a killer don't let survivors complete an invocation. If you see someone became broken due to an invocation tunnel that person out.

    „Loses the essence of invocations“?

How does it? It still would have a negative effect (being on death hook, and also having a target on you with the aura reveal).

Of course, opinions may wary. But it seems more appropriate to have one negative effect instead of multiple ones.

Ive kind of used her like trapper to be honest. Only unlike trapper u just spam traps in thr most random places and you will constantly be hitting people. Ive never had to camp hooks with traps. If someones looping you well the random placement usualy lets you go chase someone else quickly enough. But yea she could use a big update

Semi-random. You can't place a random trap in the corner of the map away from everything, since it might as well not be there in terms of usefulness.

But you know that already. :)

  • Has the collective attention span gotten so short that people would be outraged over a one month delay between chapters?

I find it a bit overwhelming that there is a new (usually bugridden and undercooked) chapter every 3 months, with multiple half-chapters sprinled in for good measure, while the base game is kept buggy and full of issues.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

When Houndmaster released, I really enjoyed watched streamers play her. Not because her gameplay was interesting, but because the streamers were constantly yelling at the dog. Snug never did what they wanted.

That seems to be this killer's power: You get to experience what it's like trying to get a stubborn dog to follow your commands.

Wanting to send him out, only for him to stop somewhere and sniff a random rock? Yeah checks out.

The dog going through the entire map to get to a place right next to you? He caught a weird scent, probably.

Not wanting to jump off ledges? He's very particular about jumping.

Portia needs to train her dog properly.

I only partly agree. My issue is that due to variantions they have a bigger chance of being selected. So like since there are 5 Badhams, the chance of going there is 5/59. However there is only 1 Dead Dawg Saloon. So the odds of going there are. is only 1/59.

I think they should keep them, but make it so that they count as the same map for Map selection. So instead of Badham 1 to 5 all counting as 5 seperate maps that all have their own chance of being selected there is 1 Badham-option that has the same chance of being selected as one sole map, like Dead Dawg, and if it is selected you randomly get 1 out of the 5 possible maps.

    That could... maybe work.

This is one of those terms that literally nobody agrees on in the community. Other common phrases that people still bicker about the definition of is tunneling, slugging, camping, sweaty, genrushing, BMing and many more I am not remembering off the top of my head.

It should also be noted that there's two different kinds of "bully squad", there's the type that maliciously tries to make your match as miserable as possible by holding you in that match for as long as possible, something that harkens back to the days of content creators like Ochido popularizing exploits to ruin the game for others. That to me is a bully squad. A group of people set out to well…bully you. They want to hold you hostage and prevent you from playing the game, all the while BMing and generally being obnoxious. Thankfully this isn't really common anymore as BHVR has patched out a fair amount of stuff that is easily abusable for survivors. There's still some examples such as people forcing specific kinds of grabs at lockers to get easy flashlight saves, but generally those are few and far between and also have a fair amount of counterplay if you're smart and quick on your feet.

Now another type of term (and one I don't see thrown around often anymore but used to be much more common) is a "Death Squad". This is a team that is STACKED and has every advantage in their favor. But they're INCREADIBLY rare. While I did get two yesterday, those were the first two I had seen in literal years. For reference one was a full comp team just tearing apart pubs and the other was a 4 man that involved

    - Two syringes
    - One styptic
    - A BNP
    - A commodious with maxed charges.

3 of them had Unbreakable/DS, ye olde small pp build. Combined with Up The Ante and Slippery Meat, along with 3 luck offerings and an Eyrie offering.

As it is safe to assume, that match was over in under 5 minutes and I lost pretty heavily. Most people saying they encounter "Bully Squads" I assure you are not dealing with matches like that often.

TLDR, It's a term that has virtually no meaning because it's used incorrectly to compensate a bad player or as a catch all term for a slightly sweaty SWF.

I'd argue that the Death Squads are more common in this day and age.

  • Ok, so my suggestion:

Remove all 3 of the negative status effects and replace them with this:

    • Your aura is revealed to the killer for 20 seconds.

I don't believe you can DC during the loading screen without fully shutting down the game, can you?

The major point of concern would be people DCing while the camera's panning around, but I do genuinely think fewer people would do that than would just leave a lobby before the game starts.

Unavoidably, something like this would have to come alongside some kind of stricter prevention for people quitting out of games at the drop of a hat, though.

You can Alt+F4 during the loading screen.

It will cause the entire match to just not start.

    Ahem....

    Taurie says hi.

  • Yes.

The Search is really jank. It should've been fixed a long time ago.

The Search path is really unforgiving, you step off of it for 0.1 second and lose the speed instantly. Add it to the fact Snug likes to take a scenic route and you get a really buggy mess.

She also has the bug where Snug just decides to stay in one place and not move.

Houndsense still doesn't do much (albeit the highlight is nice).

  • It's named that because of The Wraith's boss, Azarov.

He got killed by the Wraith in the crusher (which is curiously not on the map)

The main building is Azarov's main office.

  • I love the Shadowborn rework. It's very good.

Hexes not showing themselves right away would be nice.

Corrupt doesn't need to be a Hex. It's great as it's now.

I really hope that Ruin will get a change like you suggest.

Reverting Undying is not a good idea, since it makes totem defense brain-dead-easy.

  • It should work on missed and obstructed hits.

Only hits that connect with the survivor will not count towards the perk.

  • I don't like the aura reveal thing, tbh.

    I'd do something like this:

    • Remove the chase condition.

    • Decrease the cooldown to 30 seconds.

    • Increase the activation window to 6/8/10 seconds.

    • Additional effect: Each time you vault a unique window while the perk is active, your vaulting speed is increased by 3%, up to 15%. The initial vault doesn't count towards this effect.

only if they're killer tech's like blight/wolf. cough cough.

    Yea.…

That is not biased at all :)

Seriously tho, either they should get rid of them all, or keep them all. Is that too much to ask?

  • The footstep muffling should be a part of Shadow Step. It's in the name!

if the survivor is not abusing the window glitch

many do abuse it the window glitch. the best buff is to patch out the glitch and to reduce cooldown of his guards to 10 seconds.

Why they made that one a feature is beyond me.

I thought we were getting rid of techs.

  • MMR should be made stricter.

  • The pallets were made much worse AND clunkier. I don't get what was wrong with the old pallet placing. I'd make it like it was before, and make it do they can't stun you (it's so counterintuitive to use them because of that).

One button doing too many things at once was always an issue, and it shouldn't be.

One more nitpick from me: Why the hell does the teleport slow you down?

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/437907/how-about-a-perk-creation-contest

This game could never have a perk contest based on community voting, because there would be way more survivor-sided votes than killer-sided votes. That would ensure the most powerful survivor perks would get chosen, and the weakest killer perks would get chosen.

Now that you mention it, I realize you're probably right.

I mean, looking at some of the takes I see here on the forums, I can imagine people being annoying and choosing boring strong perks over interesting ones.

  • I don't think Invocations should stack, especially if there are more to be released.

I would also like to discard Broken from these entirely.

    So, here are my suggestions:

    Invocation: Treacherous Crows
    • Remove the terror radius condition.
    • Replace Broken with Oblivious.
    • Now, joining the ritual for at least 15 seconds increases the duration of the aura read by 0,5 seconds instead of speeding it up.

    Invocation: Weaving Spiders:
    • Replace the Broken with Exposed.
    • The charge reduction is now postponed in a case of a blocked generator.
    • Now, joining the ritual for at least 10 seconds increases the charge reduction by 3 instead of speeding it up.

  • Nope, still weak.

    Pallets? A decoration.

    Snares? You have clocks everywhere.

Teleport? Sure it's better, but expect survivors to catch on the healing teleport counterplay. Also, see point above.

1 … 48 49 50 51 52 … 80
