    Sigh.

    1. You...didn't actually read what I wrote, did you?
    2. See point 1. Or go watch the community cups. Against a certain level of coordinated team, tunneling someone out ASAP is essential, as is trying to play for a 3gen. Now, not every SWF is a comp team, but not every killer is a comp killer. Go from there.
    3. Killers aren't robots. At least until we get a robot killer. It's pretty basic psychology that someone who has a bad experience will attempt to prevent that from happening again. Also - it's weird how the common response to people being butts isn't 'yeah, less people should be butts' and inevitably 'well, killers should just not be annoyed'.
    4. (12, but I don't know how to change lists) - Find me a single person who's even been anecdotally banned for this. I've looked.
    5. (13). Things that are unfair are unfair, and expecting people to not be a bit annoyed about it is naïve. Childishly naïve, even. Also - I see a 'I DC/AFK against Eruption' thread on the page right now.
    6. (15) And yet I see a tunneling/camping thread maybe twice daily. Actually, I could swear I saw a post along those lines from you, recently...

All I'm saying is - don't be toxic and then complain when your game is toxic.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3317829#Comment_3317829

    Hah.

    Hardly.

It's more 'this is what it looks like from the other end'.

The survivor rulebook is a meme, and boils down to 'let me win'. This is more 'don't be a butt, and understand what it can be like to play killer at times'.

You aren’t playing against comp-level players almost ever. That’s beyond irrelevant. Good players will win the majority of their matches regardless of build because they are just outright better than most of the opposition MMR can give them. It’s why there was stuff like 150 game winstreaks on pre-buff Legion even with meme builds or adepts equipped.

I expect people to not be immature enough to BM. I also expect people to not be immature enough to take out frustrations on unrelated people. Being annoyed? Sure. Taking it out on randoms? Don’t be a child.

Circumstantially bannable. Not always a ban.

Don’t bother with whataboutisms. I think people defending DCing or similar are pathetic. And a lot of the complaints about tunneling/camping are also pretty dumb.

    1. If you were actually good at killer, you’d do fine more or less regardless of your build. Also SWF ≠ good.
    2. Taking out your frustrations from one match on the next is childish. Grow up.
    3. Read above.
    4. Yeah.
    5. Yeah.
    6. All I’m gonna say is, there’s a reason genuinely good killer players do just fine even without regression on weaker killers.
    7. Okay.
    8. Okay.
    9. Okay.
    10. Okay.
    11. Okay.
    12. Hiding and refusing to work on gens actually IS bannable by the way.
    13. Taking out game balance frustrations on people who have no say over game changes is childish. Grow up.
    14. Okay.
    15. Niceties are nice, but shouldn’t be expected of either side.
  • Doesn’t seem like a bug. Guards can’t carry or hook.

The Hinder is near worthless on C33. It's like a 3% speed reduction. It needs a bigger downside if it's gonna turn Blight into the single best pallet shredder in the game. I say this as a Blight main.

The issue is it reduces the distance survivors make which is already really small. On top of that, it’s a pseudo info use because of the score event that reveals that someone is in range.

  • This is why add-ons that give extra starting Corrupt Fountains are among some of her best add-ons.

  • Yellow speed should be basekit on Spirit outright. Maybe yellow duration too. And adjust the rest of her addons to compensate. Mother-Daughter Ring/Yakuyoke Amulet should get some heavy numbers nerfs. Dried Cherry Blossom should be reworked.

For Blight, Alchemist Ring should be reworked. Compound 33 just needs the Hinder removed. Other than that, everything else is balanced.

  • DBD community understand that games always have a cyclic playerbase (impossible)

  • I did not have "People think Windows is OP" in my 2023 DBD bingo.

Don't forget Iri tag, undetectable addon, pallet block addon since it got buffed, green and yellow turning and his wallhacks addon. Nobody talks about these but they're just as busted as his others.

Blight just needs a full addon rework honestly, make them good and more balanced like artists addons

It simply comes down to the fact that robbing one player of the ability to even play the match, as a strat, is not healthy for the game.

That's on the devs to handle. It's not the players' problem the devs balance this game around a strategy that does that.

Blighted crow and rat should both get a tune down in numbers, and adrenaline vial does too much for literally no downside as the turn rate thing is virtually non existent

Also not a fan of an S tier killer having an instadown addon

Crow and Rat are perfectly fine. Adrenaline alters Blight's playstyle pretty severely. And the "instadown" add-on is the one with the biggest built-in self-balancing of them all. If Blight uses up multiple rushes early (like just slamming a rock 3 times point blank), then you have way less of them to avoid. If he doesn't, then he risks not getting up his final Rush ready. And if he decides to bounce around to get down to his last few, that's extra time he's using up on a risk of chancing it all on the last 1-2.

  • DBD community mentality of acting like using certain strategies is a bad thing will never not weird me out. The killer has no reason to apologize for tunneling on purpose, let alone on accident. That's like if survivors apologized for working on gens while the killer is busy chasing someone else. Why would they apologize?

  • You seem to have a few extra add-ons on there for some reason.

Other than Mother-Daughter Ring, Dried Cherry Blossom, Yakuyoke Amulet, Alchemist Ring, and Compound 33, the rest are all fine.

  • (Base Terror Radius) + (Flat increases) + (Base Terror Radius X Multiplicative increases) = Resulting Terror Radius

    Thus, 40m + 12m + (40m * 0.26) = 40m + 12m + 10.4m = 62.4m

The issue is that there is not easy well to tell that Awakened Awareness was in play until it was too late.

It's not like people instantly know all perks the Killer is running, so with Nurse, most Survivors will try to hide instead of running away either for an unhook or to not go down with Starstruck, which would basically lead to the players getting downed immediately after the Nurse hooks because they know where the Survivors are, and the Survivors had no reason to believe Awakened Awareness was in play since it is the first down of the match.

But either way, Starstruck is dead with Nurse, and Awakened Awareness is still a good perk because it provides Nurse more early game pressure until the Survivors realize that it's in play. Hell, even on other Killers other than Nurse it's really good, Spirit and Blight can make really good use of it, and most low mobility Killers can still use it.

You shouldn't be that close to the killer in the first place in most situations regardless, Awakened Awareness or no. And you should always assume the other side has whatever tools they need to beat you, unless you have evidence otherwise. Does the Nurse have Starstruck? Maybe not, but that doesn't mean I'm going to risk it when keeping distance is the safer play even when she doesn't have Starstruck.

Also, against hyper-mobile killers, you especially don't want to stay close like that because there are so many different things that can screw you over, such as Infectious Fright. This is not even remotely Nurse/Starstruck-specific. Awakened Awareness was trash before its nerf and is even more trash now because of its entirely illogical nerf. Outside of extremely small maps which are a map design problem in of themselves, there is almost never a good excuse to be in the range in which Awakened Awareness would trigger in the first place. If it revealed a survivor's aura, it is that survivor's fault 99% of the time.

Do you know for sure the survivor has Dead Hard? No. Are you going to swing without waiting/lunge/etc without attempting to bait it out first then? Because you shouldn't. You should assume they have it and play around it anyways. Even if they don't have Dead Hard, it's still good to play around it to be sure.

Voices, volume etc. also make Survivors unique. And it is just fitting that a big guy like Jeff or Ash is louder than smaller characters.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3316793#Comment_3316793

Yeah, but it would have been enough to change Iron Will in a way that it gives perma-Exhaustion. This would mean that you cannot have a very strong Stealth-Perk AND a strong Exhaustion-Perk. But the Double-Nerf made it useless. Even if you cut the Exhaustion-Part, Iron Will would not be used, because anything below 100% Noise Reduction is pointless.

But, as said before - Iron Will is one Perk which got nerfed too hard to remove it from the Meta. Nothing more.

Giving up Exhaustion to have an infinitely lasting otherwise unconditional 100% reduction is still busted. If you want 100%, it needs to be temporary and more strictly conditional both. For example, Off the Record. Active for a limited time and only after being unhooked. Or Self-Preservation. Limited time and only after someone else takes a hit nearby.

id rather have one more normal killer than this current gameplay abomination...

    Nurse is balanced.

  • Old Iron Will was insanely unhealthy design.

100% reduction, lasts infinitely, unconditional. That was beyond unacceptable.

Survivors having different sound levels is a bad thing. A survivor should not be a gameplay advantage to another.

  • DBD players don’t overreact about a PTB update challenge (impossible)

  • Don't worry about it.

I think he wants nurse set to 4.6 m/s with the other changes.

"and she now has normal killer movement speed..."

I honestly don't see how OPs changes would really help, she would still be very powerful against new survivors(as they don't know to double back, break LOS, etc), and she would probably not work against SWF anymore. A change like reducing teleport range and slightly increasing blink charge time could help her become more balanced and still able to counter SWF.

    @Stabby_Widdershins said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3316306#Comment_3316306

Oh, I somehow missed that line completely.

Still, it guts her uniqueness and makes her another M1 Killer at the bottom of it all, relegating her power to movement and nothing else.

Not really a great thing, IMO.

Her being 4.6 is actually a nerf still. Since she would fatigue after a blink, it makes blinks useless once she's close. And then she's just a M1 4.6 killer with literally no usable power.

  • @Sparxlost said:

all this really does is reduce the effectiveness of nurses ability to outright deny looping... otherwise she still is able to travel throughout the map with relative ease and even through survivors off with her predictions....

You aren't meant to loop her. You run her by mindgaming her. And your idea would make it impossible for her to get a hit if survivors aren't absolutely brainless because she's literally slower than survivors.

EDIT: Making her 115% just kills her uniqueness and doesn't actually make her good anyways since she'd just be chasing as a M1 115% without a power after she gets close. That's garbage.

  • That would literally defeat a large point of the perk.

  • Making her blink attacks special is more like a buff. Exposed is harder to use (have to land hit in time window) and easier to counter (avoid Exposed conditions/hide/etc).

Nurse players swapping to quad regression which is way stronger, way easier, and less counterable is going to make survivors regret what they wished for.

  • It could be made a bit more obvious what will slide and what won’t, but once you learn it, you won’t have to relearn it unless they change collisions. For example, a shack on Mother’s Dwelling will always always always have the exact same collision as any shack on Mother’s Dwelling. So if you remember the collisions for objects per map, it’ll work out.

The other thing is that sliding is an intentionally designed mechanic for Blight. Removing it defeats the point.

  • It’s almost like some perks counter others.

  • Nurse’s basekit is perfectly fine. Also that literally defeats the point of blinking. She’s slower than survivors.

No she isn't. She is basically the reason why having small maps can be extremely problematic despite being a necessity for most killers, it nullifies her only weakness which is poor mobility. If a nurse has good info on a map like RPD or Midwich you are utterly lost.

Tiny maps are bad design regardless, and RPD/Midwich have so many design problems besides just their size. Also for RPD, lack of long lines of sight in most areas works against her too. It’s also amusing you don’t think just about anyone with mobility will usually. obliterate smaller maps

I think that the real reason BHVR hasn't touched nurse substantially is because they don't want to get accused of being PTW... Which could easily be fixed by just, you know, maybe buffing the other used-to-be top tier killer that got gutted for no reason at all?

Or cause y’know. The obvious answer: Nurse is balanced.

  • It can screw it over too. I want a setting so I can disable it as killer.

Too much work, here's a band aid solution. I mean they reworked Freddy, I guess things are different now. A sign of the future of this game imo.

Nurse’s basekit is perfectly fine. Also, Freddy’s rework was a prime example of why full reworks are a horrible thing and shouldn’t ever happen again. It completely alienated old Freddy’s playerbase and trashed everything about the previous identity.

  • The game is relatively balanced for 99% of the playerbase. But there are things that could be adjusted here and there.

  • @Pulsar said:

Ideally, we will have nerfs to quadruple slowdowns as well.

Ideally, at least the problematic ones.

    @Mr_K said:

Predict what happens after they nerf slowdown perks.

People will complain about aura perks. If that synergy is removed, people will complain about any other style of decent perk (Infectious Fright, etc). Then so on and so forth. And then Blight, Spirit, so on.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

The actual problem is that Nurse is still too strong and a relic of the past which really should not exist like that. You always have to ask - would DBD release a Killer like her nowadays? And the answer is a clear "No".

And well, naturally Killers switch to as much Slowdown as possible, because it is the easiest way to play Killer. You drag out the game, which means less ressources, which means easier chases, which results in more Downs, followed by more Slowdown and so on. And honestly, if you need 20 minutes to kill 4 Survivors, who are most likely better than you, you should not win.

Last but not least - for me, nothing will change. I play Nurse with my Build, which is full Aura Read (except for Shadowborn). And I mostly go against Nurses who already stack Slowdown a lot and a Starstruck-Nurse is quite a rarity. (Because, again - stacking Slowdown is easier, so more players go for that... Even on Nurse)

    Her basekit is perfectly fine.

  • No. Literally never ever. Old DH was one of the worst designed perks to exist since the abominations from old DBD. DH is STILL the best Exhaustion perk even now, it’s just tied with Sprint Burst instead of always being better now.

  • A Killer FOV slider needs to be in the graphics options regardless. Also blind angle should be statically capped anyways, not based off FOV.

  • People moaning and complaining that DH was useless and Sprint Burst would replace it after its well-deserved nerf is even more hilarious at this point in time. DH is still the best Exhaustion perk in the entire game, it’s just tied with Sprint Burst now instead of being always better.

And new DH is even stronger than old DH against S-tier killers anyways.

  • The counter to camping and tunneling is doing gens. You are not meant to have a hard counter to it, that is bad design. That would be like if Killers got a perk that blocked all gens while they’re in chase to prevent people from working on gens while they’re chasing someone else. The intended counter is the Killer picks their chases carefully and in the correct areas, and knows when to drop/maintain chase. And being good enough at chase/mindgaming to get a down quick enough to pressure the others before the other survivors get too much progress.

Courageous is literally the part of old Borrowed Time that made it busted. Literally unacceptable.

Quick Witted is a literal free slightly-weaker Adrenaline just for being hooked twice. No.

  • People are not obligated to play worse for the sake of your fun.

That’s like if a killer complained that survivors should stop doing gens while the killer is chasing a different survivor, since it’s not fun for the killer to lose gens because they can only chase 1 person at a time. It’s utterly stupid entitlement.

Is being on the receiving end of being tunneled fun? Probably not for most people. Is that relevant? Also no. Fun/unfun is an irrelevant byproduct and not the point in playing to win/making the smartest decision. People doing it as a strategy and not to BM aren’t doing it specifically to make it unfun for you. It just happens to be the correct play, which also just happens to be unfun for you.

Should/Could the game be changed to buff playing without tunneling so it incentivizes those using tunneling as strategy to not do so anymore since the alternate option would be more appealing? Yeah, but that will take very huge changes to the game flow itself, as the end reward of having 1/4 eliminated ASAP is a huge incentive. So playing without tunneling would need large mechanical buffs, which in turn would require rebalancing of a lot of the game, since it is currently balanced around tunneling.

  • @Faterunner99 said:

It's a huge nerf to her thank god, but her power still ignores all game mechanics

How to change her without sending her to the shadow realm like Freddy? Dunno, but she turned into a 110 killer or something her identity is dead

Friendly reminder mindgaming and LOS is literally part of core mechanics.

  • Please no, bigger hitbox please. That would prevent lunging to break a lock.

  • Smartest DBD complainer when one single person agrees with their opinion.

mfw when good players are good at playing, clearly means their character is OP.

Anyways so about Ryuga getting a 150+ Win streak on pre-buffed Legion while running meme addons. Legion is so insanely busted and OP, please nerf!!11!1!1!

  • lmao at first two options being the same thing and yes vote being = Nurse main, talk about bad faith. Her basekit is perfectly fine and was fine even before the special attack change.

Realistically, the special attack change is going to "buff" Nurse against survivors. Exposed is way more counterplayable than quad regression is.

  • If things are busted, the answer is to balance them, not screw everyone by making the grind worse.

  • Ah yes, what problems could automatic self-unhook possibly cause?

  • DBD players when people use strategies to win:

If they want to rush in then it's a trade which is still good and limits camping. Limiting self heals limits CoH and medkits. Both changes help both sides.

It’s not a trade when they just have someone else to take a hit for them and they have zero risk of being interrupted.

Preventing survivors from healing themselves is bad for both sides.

  • Hook grabs exist so survivors can’t just divebomb the hook like idiots.

Limiting self-heals makes no sense either. Them spending the time to self-heal is time spent not doing gens.
