  • I'm sorry, I'll try to have better attention.

    Hi :)

  • @Aztreonam78 said:

I will never understand the issue Survivors have with Pain Res + DMS.

Just stand up from the freaking gen when you see the Killer hooking Survivor. The Killer doesn't know which gen affected.

If killers can't wait out dead hard, survivors shouldn't have to deal with this every match.

It is a completely broken combo.

To OP:. The game is extremely killer sided. Don't play survivor is the only advice.

  • No. It's too inaccessible, unfun, to use. Very boring. The survivor looks like they can't run.

This is a good example of a downgrade.

  • Killers got exactly what they been wanting: EZ games.

  • Hook suiciding shows the state of the game where survivor is really hopeless and unwinnable.

Survivors would be better to take a pass on queuing up, otherwise DLCs will always be centered around OP killers, strong killer perks, and nerfing survivors with weak perks.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/339609/survivors-deserve-a-meta-perk-returned

Dead hard will never come back, at least not in the way it was before 6.1.0. It just wouldnt make sense.

Think that the devs are already extremely careful with any new survivor perk actually being good so they release exclusively weak or situational perks at best. They will not even consider bring back one the strongest perks

There is not really a reason it shouldn't come back. The new dead hard is so worthless, especially having a tiny window of 0.5 sec where latency prevents it from being used. Devs have already reverted part of the killer meta while the entire community have denounced that the patch has broken the game. Solo survivor is completely dead because killers are so OP now.

Survivors will never have any good perks because devs are scared of killer mains. There's no other reason. Killers get a super strong meta perk in every DLC and survivors have to play a chess game to figure out how to get a perk to work.

  • I have thought about that as well. Their stats do not match reality at all. No offense to Angrypug but he hardly ever wins and it is not his fault, skill is meaningless for survivors. This man has more survivor hours than the entire playerbase combined and his winrate is embarrassingly low. Angrypug constantly complains about his teammates but it is because so much is expected from them. Casuals simply can’t win.

Meanwhile, casual killers are winning constantly. This is evidence the game is extremely unbalanced in favor of killer.

One of two things is happening at BHVR.  Either they are being dishonest with their stats to make the community happy in regards to stats or their stats are spoiled by hackers. There are games where a hacker will light all the gens and prance out the gate and the killer is standing mesmerized. I think that happens a lot at high MMR and BHVR thinks their data is accurate.

  • @PaintedDeath said:

It's a baby step for a baby. Survivors don't "deserve" anything, and its the mindset that you deserve anything that is ruining this game.

The mindset that killers are supposed to have an ez 4K every single game is really ruining the game.

  • I will say survivors will make a bigger impact on the game if they don't play at all. The devs have actually admitted they don't count DC'ing in their stats which is absurd because that is the greatest indicator of a problem.

As long as survivors continue to play, the game will continue to get worse and worse.

  • @Crowman said:

Survivors are not d/cing for any valid reason.

    Just play the game out.

A lot of killers are still slugging at 5 gens, camping, tunneling. The game is very rigged against survivors at the moment due to so many survivor nerfs, hence the dissatisfaction.

The game should be fair and balanced, not be a power fantasy for a killer.

  • @Hannacia said:

Self care sure thats fine but i dont want to see the old broken DH ever again. Also DS give the 5 seconds back but i do want it to stop working at endgame since people did abuse it to get free escapes. No free escape perks should work at endgame anymore.

I agree it should have never been nerfed. If a survivor managed to keep a 1-time use perk until endgame, they should deserve to still use it. That is punishment for doing well. Killers have endgame perks to "guarantee" or secure a kill, survivors should have the same.

Double-standards in balancing is very bad.

  • @AgitatedPenguin said:

It's amusing how many people think the game is broken because dead hard is gone. Try learning to play without it. Killers get metas changed all the time. Although I still don't get why they brought PR+DMS back just because of the niche situation of merciless storm that wasn't even used that much.

If many people think it, it is probably true. Why should survivors must constantly learn to play "without" something and killers don't? Survivors didn't get a Dead Hard replacement as killers got a meta replacement with the same boring perks that survivors have to content with. Killers still using slowdown perks.

Nothing is less fun in the game that having to let go of the gen just because the killer might have a very broken combo. If killers can't wait an extra second to bait out Dead Hard, all survivors shouldn't have to play around a broken meta combo.

  • @ColonGlock said:

You can have Iron Will back but breathing sounds have to come back.

That seems like a fair compromise with that one perk. It makes sense to have breathing sounds, but if you are using a perk slot, your grunts of pain should be 100% silent.

My brother in Christ, survivors just went through the first meta change in years. DH, BT, DS, and quick gens have been around for a very long time.

And got nothing to replace it with.

Killers on the other hand received a royal feast. Massively buffed all across the board, camping was buffed, longer gens, buffed gen regression, buffed aura perks.......

Killers literally win on auto pilot now.

I wholeheartedly disagree with that. The majority of my forfeits come very quickly into a match, often in my first chase if someone happens to go down just a little too fast. Quite literally the first DC I got in my data collection was off a locker grab 30 seconds into the game. The match was obviously still very winnable by that point.

Even my late-game DCs are usually in very winnable situations, with the exception of someone DCing after another forfeit. Even looking at my own stats you could see the majority of my DCs considerably shifted the tide of my matches considering a 16% difference in kill rate when factoring in those games vs. when not.

And it's not the game making people feel like it's unwinnable in the majority of cases, it's their own perception. You can't fix their perception. Most of my DCs are ragequits. Some are not, but when they aren't it's usually because someone else griefed them (i.e. bodyblocking or not saving them) at least in my experience. Those DCs are rarely representative of actual game balance.

It is though. If a player feels they have a chance they will stay in the match. Have you ever considered that your perception of their perception not being relevant flawed?

This is what's wrong with the game, survivor fun and fair game is completely disregarded.

Way too much is expected from survivors. Most of the time the winning conditions is nowhere close to being attainable.

  • "High MMR" have never struggled. Killer mains have always played for hours without a single loss.

The only thing BHVR has done is make it so noob killers can easily beat high caliber survivors. This is why survivor is unplayable and tremendously disadvantaged.

They target killer mains. Because that's how they can hold people hostage.

This narrative you push of survivor being miserable. Has nothing to do with the current hacker pandemic.

The last hacker pandemic we had. Survivor was still OP. Still had 5 second DS and could use it in end game. Still had old dead hard. Gens were still 80 seconds. They were still holding people hostage. Go on with your satire and false narratives though

It was nothing like it is now. If survivor wasn't in such a horrendous spot, why is everyone stopped playing it? And those that are ends with no hope of a win?

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3117007#Comment_3117007

Oh stop with the BS sluzzy. You know damn well this isn't true

The evidence is overwhelming. They sit in queues for an insane amount of time only to get hackers. They are the only ones that can raise MMR. They seem to be targeting killer mains.

  • The game is in a bad state when you have to hack to have fun.

This is the issue and what the hackers are most likely trying to demonstrate. DC penalty should be disabled for everyone, not a "privileged" few.

  • That is what happens when you balance an asymmetrical game as if it is symmetrical. 99% of survivors don't stand a chance against an overpowered killer. Survivors have nothing at all that helps them be stronger and to win. When perks deactivate for breathing, you know something is wrong.

Basically, survivors is fishing for a noob killer that has never played killer before to have a chance to win. It is honestly sad how easy killer is now and it is worse that BHVR thought killers need buffs. 90 sec gens against a mirad of strong gen regression perks is basically suicide for survivors. There is no chance to win.

  • Treating only the symptoms leaves the disease unchecked. Survivor is extremely unfun, unrewarding, and grossly unbalanced in favor of killer. The only time survivors win is when the killer plays to lose. BHVR is wildly slow to make corrections to this issue.

Why should a DC penalty even exist? It is not a competitive symmetrical game where it can be perfectly balanced.

All the fun has been completely removed from the game for the sake of top end balancing so killers never lose now.

  • It is unplayable. It is almost like playing the lottery - the chances are tremendously low and the killer is holding all the winning cards.

  • Forfeits is representative of an extremely stale and unbalanced game. If it happens a lot. This is why devs should never dismiss DCs because it shows an underlying problem. If a player will actually DC or forfeit, it means they think the game is unwinnable and a match should never make a player feel that way.

  • It was fun and effective, but it was not OP. That only became a thing after DS was ruined. It can be a popular perk, but not OP.

  • @FacecampingTunneler said:

While I agree solo queue can be bad, decisive shouldn’t have been nerfed for killers such as nurse and blight, to say that perks shouldn’t deactivate from doing gens is crazy and almost as crazy as saying legion is overpowered, he literally has 0 anti loop and you can heal against him so thana won’t get the 12%, the insta down frenzy is countered by spreading on gens which is already a good tactic against every killer and relies on map size. It is delusional to say survivor is unplayable and that dead hard which is still one of the best exhaustions should be made to be more accessible and rewarding when it can literally give you another healthstate if used correctly.

There is nothing survivor can do against a Legion in Feral Frenzy so there's no counterplay to not being injured and he can literally down if he hits four survivors. It is not fair to say he has 0 anti-loop when being injured basically means you are 1-shot down.

Survivor is unplayable if you are wanting a fair game.

Another healthstate is just another word for "dodging a hit" in a --- survival game where survivor is running from killer. The survivor is not even increasing speeds now to dodge the hit. It is very unfun to use now.

  • They are moving at a snail-pace at addressing the horrific mid-chapter patch.

Thanatophobia is really a drop in a bucket. Killers that injure all 4 survivors will still be unable to do anything.

And survivors were nerfed again with MoM being nerfed again.

    Wat.

Survivors absolutely can still win. I've been watching HCS streams today, and survivors are smashing faces right now, especially with the new OTR.

The issue is that I...think you're misunderstanding your win state.

You escaping is not a win.

You dying is not a loss. It's about how many people escape.

What you are describing sounds like you want the majority of games to be a 0k. Would that be fair to killers?

It's actually been months since I've had a 0K, as survivor. (It only happens against a farming killer.)

It would be nice if 0Ks happened about as much as 4Ks. My perception of the game would be so much better.

  • @StarLost said:

You can't expect to win as much as before.

If that's a dealbreaker, then yeah - maybe another game would be a better call.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3105611#Comment_3105611

'Fun' is subjective. And in a PvP game, 'fun' generally comes down to 'I win'. Both sides can't win. If killers kill more, survivors have less 'fun'. But killers also need to have fun.

DbD is going to die, like every game that has ever existed. Numbers look decent now, and we'll likely see another surge when RE chapter comes out. That said, while balance will never be perfect - it's still important.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3105607#Comment_3105607

    Bingo.

Survivors can't have fun if they feel they can't win. With the odds totally against them with a skilled killer and also against it on average, this really means survivor fun is discounted altogether.

  • @yauniqua said:

Death Garden’s Scavdngers couldn’t survive either and Oops! Where is that game?

It was often criticized that Deathgarden main issue is that the hunter was TOO powerful in skilled hands. DBD is falling down the same rabbit hole where some reason the devs wants to blindly increase killrates without any consider at all of survivors fun or how well really good killers already perform.

DBD is going to die if BHVR doesn't stop looking at the game as some kind of perfect symmetrical game. It isn't fun or practical.

  • Treating the symptoms without addressing the disease and it will continue to worsen, as it is now.

I would point out that DC'ing used to never happen, back when the game was more fun and fair for both sides. It is way too killer sided now.

  • This clearly means self-care or CoH needs another nerf.

  • Survivor perks should never simply disable because of completing the objective or doing anything. That is punishment for doing the objective. Bad game design, that is all I have to say.

  • No. Survivors are overnerfed and morale is extremely low.

I feel survivor is nothing but a cesspool of new players because there is really nothing attractive long-term for the role.

  • @Hensen2100 said:

I honestly liked it more before the patch. I think the killer should be at an inherent disadvantage. It's 4v1, they should have to play well to "earn" the right to be the power role.

I don't think the game should be balanced so that anyone can just pick up any killer and perform well; it's a disservice to survivors who have invested time learning to play. They had the handful of killers the newb killers could use (Nurse, Blight, etc) that carry them and then the other killer characters for the hardcore players.

Now it's like anyone can jump on wraith and get a 2-3k+ against survivors who have played for thousands of hours because survivors have been nerfed into the floor for the sake of the game "being scary" idk. It's never really been scary, and hiding while your teammates die and you are helpless gets old after just a few matches

Another way to put it is that survivors should not be auto-lose simply because the killer has a tiny bit of experience or is bring overpowered perks.

Survivor skill is meaningless and that is why the game is broken and survivors are frustrated. Killers should never be an EZ mode and that is exactly what it has become.

The overall trend has always been that killers are coddled by the devs in every patch since 1.0.0. DBD is not really a game now but rather a 4K simulator.

  • There is no doubt camping and tunneling was heavily buffed this patch. Longer gens, stronger gen regression, all killers buffed all across the board. Survivor perks that actually disable during endgame, while killers have endgame perks that can guarantee kills (tunneling is not punished either).

A protest is needed for the health of the game.

It did take them 3 months to nerf Circle of Healing for the first time. It released in October, in patch 5.3.0, and then received it's first nerf in 5.5.0. Then it got nerfed to what it is now in 5.7.0. So it actually took them 6 months to get Circle of Healing into a relatively balanced state.

Here is the link to the perk's Wiki page, you can see for yourself:

    https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Boon%3A_Circle_of_Healing

And no, I am not considering the nerfs boon perks got in general when they released to live in patch 5.3.0. The range reduction and increased time to bless a Hex totem did not do much at all.

They nerfed very quickly out of the PTB and then again within a couple of weeks. The next time they nerfed it may have been a month, but the point remains.

And mmr doesnt work because it's a bad system and too many people got to an mmr they didnt belong

It shouldn't take but a few games for your MMR to drop. Survivors still can't win.

  • Killer mains will say anything to justify the completely unfair and broken patch.

The game is so unfair and killer sided, MMR doesn't even work.

Hatch doesn't matter anyways. The devs don't consider the ability to survive actual skill. So the game takes a hatch escape as a tie.

They are out of touch. It takes a miracle to escape with hatch.

  • Good killers win an overwhelming majority of matches, and killrates well over 50 for everyone. I remember Pinhead having close to 70% across the board. This is before the massive killer buffs and survivor nerfs! It blows my mind thinking how high it may be now.

You feel cheated playing as survivor and especially when BHVR thinks killers need even higher killrates. Very strange way to balance and great way to run off the majority of the player base.

Every mechanic rigged against the survivor. The hatch can even be totally denied by killer.

  • The player counts are dropping even over the weekend.

It is not wise for BHVR to be sleeping on this.

The changes we got, sparked from exactly that. Killers being unhappy about having to equip 4 slowdown perks to even have a slightest chance of a normal match + and devs not being happy with kill rates, that were below expectations. Devs wanted to increase match length, which was impressivly short during the last event. Survivors made very clear, how fast they can repair gens, when they want. Now pretending that gens don´t exist, won´t change that.

Devs also wanted to increase kill rates. They probably didn´t expect how survivors prefered to ruin the game for everyone else instead of trying to adapt. But here we are. We just got a statement in another thread from mandy, that they won´t do any hastly reactions to this. So unless your plan is to suicide on the first hook for the next 3 months...

It didn't take them 3 months to nerf CoH. (several times without hesitation).

If survivors repaired gens fast, that was due to the killer not an issue with gens.

This is a major issue now with the imbalance and health of the game, whereas CoH was negligibly good if that. It was clearly a perception but got nerfed hard anyway.

    Thank you very much.

That is exactly the kind of response we would like to see. I think it's an impertinence of the thread creator to call this patch a disaster, and it can't stand like that. With all due respect, but all the Solo Q critics ( Fun Fact: and that is the majority !! ) can spam the forum all they want or cry about it.

They will have to get used to the changes and calm down. If not, well then tough luck. If changes need to be made, it will happen, but many just don't understand or don't want to understand.

    This is very simple ☝️

Killers didn't "calm down" every time survivors got something useful. Circle of Healing suffered 3 knee-jerk reactions by the devs due to killers moaning and crying. When killers can't 4K with ease, is the reason survivor state is at the worst.

Concerning the patch, this is definitely the worst state of the game. And BHVR is silent because killers are all happy.

The game is so unbalanced right now, it is a miracle any survivor is playing.

  • Please remove the word lowkey. Survivor has reached a new low.

I've played games since...basically gaming was a thing.

Sportsmanship makes your game into a phenomenon. A crappy community makes your game niche.

Look at how the Tribunal turned League of Legends from a meme into among the most successful PvP games of all time.

This isn't feedback. This is sulking.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3093691#Comment_3093691

There's plenty of complaining about Dead Hard.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3093551#Comment_3093551

It should help. I know that I'll generally play whichever role the incentive is going towards, unless I'm already Iri 1 on that role.

If you constantly go to a restaurant and get bad food and it continues to get worse, you will likely stop going back. That is happening here. For survivors, the food is continuing to get worse and worse via gutting essential survivor perks and massively buffing killer constantly. Survivors are not having fun, the win conditions are next to impossible compared to killer.

The issue is worse than everyone is even thinking including BHVR. These extreme survivor nerfs is not only running off long-time players that enjoyed the game with specific perks (Spine Chill, Dead Hard, Iron Will, Decisive Strike), they can't enjoy the game and have a fair chance to win. And with how overpowered killers are now, new survivors can't win.

Killers got better meta perks in this patch and survivors got garbage. Or at least none of them is useful against good killers.

"And in the meantime, there's been nerfs to only Billy and Nurse and everything one else has been buffed."

    Except the nerfs to Spirit

    And the nerfs to Deathslinger

And the several nerfs to Freddy and his addons

    And the nerf to Wraith

And the nerfs to Pyramid Head

And the nerfs to Twins and their addons

And the nerfs to Cenobites addons

    So

    You're factually incorrect Sluzzy.

Ok, I forgot Spirit and Deathslinger but those others are very insignificant. Wraith is still stronger than when released. He was buffed but not nerfed all the way back so he is in-between his release and the buff. I still think he is slightly OP because he has too much lunge from stealth. Other killers buffed several times while survivors nerfed.

  • @Araphex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3092411#Comment_3092411

Survivors are tired of being nerfed? Freddy, Nurse, Spirit, Onryo (never buffed since release) just to name a few. Killers have always been nerfed. Survivors aren't supposed to be more powerful than killers. Not even equal unless working as a team. That's where the problem lies. Solo Q needs comms to even compare to SWFs because from what I can tell, SWFs are doing just fine after the patch.

Killers have been complaining since I've been playing while survivors just tell them to get good, GGEZ, haha DS/DH/COH/Ect, t-bag t-bag t-bag, flashlight clicky clicky. So the majority of killer mains left the game. So the devs gave them a buff to bring that playerbase back. Survivors also had been complaining since I've been playing, the only difference is the devs always listened to the survivors making the game too easy for you all. Honestly it was way to easy for me too. Now it's a challenge, but still they need to fix the comm issue that is lacking in Solo Q, which I play in. I don't do SWF because there's to much background noise where I live.

So I'm sorry nothing can ever make survivors happy. They gave you buffs, they nerfed killers, they attempted to balance things, but in the end they lost the killer playerbase, hence why it would take so long to find matches. Honestly after the update, I haven't even waited more than 1 minute on either side to get into a game. It's a step in the right direction. Instead of complaining about things, give the devs suggestions and be patient. Killers needed this, and some of us who like a challenge did as well.

Survivors have been nerfed extremely hard consistently since the game came out. And in the meantime, there's been nerfs to only Billy and Nurse and everything one else has been buffed. Maps are so sparse now that I can run almost half way across the map before finding a pallet. Killers were already overpowered and now that killers have save the best for last as base-kit, killers have guaranteed downs now with no counterplay options or to extend the chase at least long enough so others can do gens. This is why every match is a massacre.

Comms won't help solo Q IMO. SWF is only strong when 4 perfect survivors know each other, work well together, and have a coordinated plan. There's no reason why the game couldn't be more balanced so average survivors have a chance to win. An alternate way to escape like the old hatch would at least give some needed hope. Gens taking longer was bad and when you have oppressive killers getting several hooks before a gen is done, there is no come-back for survivors. Jumping ship to drown shouldn't be the only option.

I don't know what the devs are thinking. Longer gens and more gen regression, buffed killers across the board, while completely gutting "essential" survivor perks like Iron Will, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Spine Chill. You forgot survivors didn't get replacements for any of these perks - killers did alongside MASSIVE buffs all across the board. Corrupt still as strong as it was, BBQ still gives the same aura reading. The only perk slightly nerfed was Ruin but killers got one is even better. Survivors didn't get a better Iron Will, or a better Dead Hard.

For every SWF that says GGEZ, there is another killer slugging poor solos all on the floor and nodding their head, with 5 gens remaining.

Everything survivors had fun to use is gone. I've given devs suggestions constantly and it falls on deaf ears.

Solo is dead after complaining about it for over a year. This patch was horrendous.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 57
