  • You are basically asking devs not to listen to the extreme unhappiness with the patch . That is the entire issue to begin with, being ignored.

I think survivors are tired of being nerfed constantly and killers being buffed. I know I am.

  • @Aurelle said:

Well, this is what the killers wanted. Easy 4k's and no ways for survivors to help themselves (AKA the perk nerfs). Survivors are leaving or switching to killer, nobody wants to play a role where there's no chance of winning.

    So true.

  • If they are still playing, it doesn't matter. Survivors NEED to stop playing if they want BHVR to listen.

  • That won't help. Killers are OP.

Survivors are expected to play like tournament ninjas and average players are not able to play that way.

All auras will do is allow you to see them go down. Gens take too long to repair and chases are too short.

I don't know Sluzzy, they reverted the pallet/flashlight stun very quickly back in the days and the storm was less than what it is right now. I can't see BHVR continuing with this nonsense when the vast majority (survivors) are so unhappy about the game.

I am expecting a quick change to this nonsense, if not I will stop playing for a while

Doesn't matter. They are STILL playing!!!!!!! BHVR doesn't care if they are unhappy or not.

eh Sluzzy, because the queue times for killer are too long so I either play survivor or I don't play the game, but I am too addicted !

But yes, if I don't see some quality of life changes THIS week I will give up

I've never known of them ever reverting anything. There is no hope for that.

I think survivors are to blame for the constant nerfs because they continue playing an unbalanced game.

  • Why would you play survivor knowing it is that badly imbalanced? I genuinely would like to know.

  • Imagine if a killer played 28 games and only won one.

Balance and fairness is so bad now.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy, but I've had multiple survivors who force themselves to go down to my zombies and bleed out for four minutes rather than do gens and escape. Or they go AFK in a locker. In my survivor matches very few are bothering to do gens, they rush the hook or follow the killer around but they make no attempt to escape. And I see the same in a lot of my killer matches: the first gen doesn't get done for 5+ minutes, like they don't bother to start gens until they finally accept I'm not going to do anything but kill zombies and proc chase.

Some survivors are going in to lose. Their queues in my area are fast, so I guess it's no big deal when you don't have to wait for matches? I dunno.

Nemesis is a very tricky killer to verse and I feel his power is like Huntress where it feels unfair sometimes. He was already extremely strong and the killer buffs have inherently made him too strong.

Those survivors feel there is no chance to win which is the issue. I don't think they purposely joined to do that.

Again Sluzzy it hasn't been a week since the patch dropped, we might still see changes in a hotfix in the coming week. At the very least some communication.

Also you're making progress, you finally admit having DH was an advantage. Good stuff

Funny thing about Circle, they've nerfed it like twice (they actually nerfed boon radius in general at one point not just COH) but it's STILL the best healing perk in the game. No contest

Well, shouldn't a perk give a little advantage?

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3086666#Comment_3086666

Sluzzy you listed 3 endgame perks but you claim Killer is so easy they win before 5 gens are done

    Curious.

No of course no dev wants bad reviews but they obviously understand what a knee-jerk reaction is. It hasn't even been a week yet.

In reality they have a slowdown perk or two and then No Way Out and NOED or Blood Warden. I was giving an example that nerfing DH because it gave a slight advantage while killer solidify their wins with perks seems silly to me.

Circle of Healing was swiftly nerfed for killer mains a total of 3 times. BHVR didn't say that was "knee jerk reactions".

But to demonstrate how they make a difference, they have been radio silent on their game being "unplayable" for survivors trying to enjoy the game.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3086586#Comment_3086586

    "entirely situational perk"

    aka being injured in chase

That is the only "situational" aspect of the perk. DH was a huge safety net, a guarantee that even when injured you have the ability to prolong a chase. Before it was fixed I'd agree that there was no guarantee, because sometimes it straight up didn't work.

    But they fixed that.

Also, again - """high mmr""" has nothing to do with it. Mediocre survivors could use DH to extend their chases by way longer than a few seconds. If you were using it in the open, you weren't using it correctly. That's on you, not the perk. I don't consider myself particularly high mmr but I know how to use DH properly and my teammates certainly did so, It can't be that hard.

As for the reviews, I take it with a grain of salt.

Mediocre killers didn't even have to learn how to use a perk. Slowdown perks automatically tilt the game greatly in killer's favor. This is why survivor is in a broken mess - there are double standards to balancing. Killers got more slowdown perks.

Survivors didn't get another dead hard. DS was nerfed, perks don't even work endgame. But its OK for killer to stack No Way Out, NOED, Blood Warden. Those are no less uncounterable than dead hard.

    No developer wants bad reviews.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3085691#Comment_3085691

🤣 rethink that comment. If you do not balance a game based off of its best players and instead balance based off of casual you get a game not worth investing time into. The second you get skilled and get to high mmr (which probably doest apply to you) the game will be unbalanced and boring. If you balance the game for high levels it provides you with the ability to get better.

It is not that simple. What you are saying is that it should be balanced around the top percent of survivors without considering the skill level of the killer. DBD is asymmetrical so we can't balance that way because now the majority of survivors don't have a chance to win because it is balanced so "bad" killers automatically win or that they have a tremendous advantage by default.

This is not COD. It is an asymmetrical game. The killer isn't supposed to win every single game just because you've got a little experience.

  • Trying to invalidate the horrendous balancing and state of the game by saying survivors are causing killrates to increase is ridiculous.

Who would spend their free time to simply join a match to lose on purpose? Think about it.

But giving up is actually tremendously more important stat because it shows the game is broken. In a proper game, all 5 players should feel they have a chance at winning.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3085652#Comment_3085652

DH wasn't busted? Really? Is that why 90% of survivors used it? Because it wasn't a busted get out of jail free perk? It's hilarious how now since killers have a chance to be in the power role instead of the survivors the game is now "broken". It wasn't broken when there were infinites in the game, it wasn't broiken when survivors abused boil over before the nerf. Nah the game is only ever broken when all killers now stand a viable chance of winning.

90% is really blowing it way out of proportion. It was a popular perk because, whether you admit it or not, it was the only perk that gave some slight utility in chase. 90% of other survivor perks are trash. DH was fun to use. Making a perk way less fun to use in a video game is not ideal, especially when no substitute was provided to help make up the difference.

Do you think a very small dash was OP against a Blight, Nurse, or Huntress (with 5 hatchets) was actually too strong? I don't think so. The mains of these killers never lose, we don't need to conveniently forget that.

Calling it a "get out of jail free" card is just a cheap way of saying you think survivors are not supposed to have anything useful or fun to use.

Killers have always been viable. Too overpowered now.

Here's Scott's opinion on the matter...He could be right he could be wrong

    https://youtu.be/L-1onIqL7z8

    https://youtu.be/hF36OYZaax0

Scott is mostly a killer main. Saying survivors simply need to adapt is making light of the issue that survivors have been nerfed 6 years non-stop and might be tired of adapting. Killers were massively buffed so they don't have to adapt.

Survivors got nothing to replace their meta perks, while killers simply got more or even stronger slow gen perks with STBFL as base-kit and slower gens on top of more slow down regression perks. Scott didn't talk about that.

  • @ColonGlock said:

The good news is this type of "feedback" is only part of what the devs will be looking at when making future decisions on balancing. Stats won't lie. At least in my games (where I do not run gen slowdown), survivors are surviving plenty. I admit if I chose to play unfairly less would survive but many killer players have empathy. I try to balance out the horror.

That is nice of you to go easy and let them win. But, that in itself spells out a huge balance issue if you, the killer, have to go easy and balance the horror for them to have a chance. This shouldn't be a killer choice.

Killers should be required to try very hard or have a lot of experience to win. And killers with experience shouldn't win every game either.

This confirms the game is broken in favor of killer.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3085669#Comment_3085669

Sluzzy you said the majority of killers won their games when old DH was a thing

If what you said is true, then the they wouldn't have said killrates are too low for them.

Balancing for the top percent is breaking the game.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3085652#Comment_3085652

Sluzzy you can think what you want, I'm not gonna tell you that your opinion is wrong

    But

Dead Hard was objectively broken once it was fixed.

Also, the developers do not agree with you. They said kill rates were lower than they want, so they buffed killer. The developers themselves disagree with you Sluzzy.

The developers could be wrong. Hackers and 4man SWF is all there was at the top MMR. Nerfing survivors because of that has basically ruined the game for like 99.9% of survivors.

  • @Brokenbones said:

    No.

they made these changes to address months (if not years) worth of complaints of a stale meta and busted perks like DH

if they had given up on the game, they'd be content to leave it as is and keep releasing feng min cosmetics and new chapters

They took a big risk with this patch, which shows they do care.

DH was not busted. Because a killer streamer said so and the community believed it.

Killers still won a majority of games against survivors that had DH.

  • @MrPenguin said:

    "first down, survivor dc'd"

I feel like that's the main problem right now. Survivors are throwing tantrums and giving up left and right before the match even really starts, even more than usual.

We can't even gauge how strong the changes actually are accurately because survivors are just throwing.

That's because the game is broken. It is probably killers impatiently waiting in queue and played survivor and found the game was grossly unbalanced.

I'm sorry what did you want? Them to just delete every slowdown perk from the game?

I don't agree with effectively removing pop and ruin as well as weakening other slowdowns being "not really an improvement".

Like survivors are still running exhaustion, second chance, and healing perks. OTR is the new second chance perk of choice, BT actually got buffed, CoH is still here, Unbreakable is still here. Just because it's the same category of perks it's "not really a nerf"?

Both sides are running the same types of perks. But other perks got more viable and the meta got weaker. Its not like people are running Premonition and Deja Vu with a map now.

But I am seeing a lot more variety than before, which is good.

It is not fun to verse "different" slowdown perks, longer gens, and save the best for last every game, while survivors have nothing.

Survivors got massively nerfed again. DH was ruined, DS was ruined, and the so-called DS replacement is completely countered by hitting someone off the hook. Perks don't even work in the endgame when happened to get there against a killer way less skilled.

There is variety, killers got a stronger variety with a stronger base-kit.

Survivors got a MUCH weaker variety and much less fun variety. Survivors got nothing where skill can be useful.

  • @Sumnox said:

Simple solution: Don't engage. Actions speak louder than words, if you want to send a message, just don't play this patch.

This is what survivors have always never learned. I never understood why survivors subjected themselves to an unwinnable unbalanced match. It was already bad before the patch, now it is like a nail in the coffin.

Unless you are a 4 man and still have fun losing, which is a different story.

Playing solo to simply die (lose) to a killer way less skilled than you is not exactly a game to me. I think games should be fair and it is definitely unfair for survivors now.

  • @BlightedDolphin said:

I'm still getting very quick killer queues at night (haven't tried during the day). Usually less than 30 seconds and no more than 2 minutes, which is about how fast they were for me last patch.

Australian servers if that makes a difference.

I logged in to simply test it, in North America (large population), the killer queues in 15+ mins. Survivor queues instant.

People here are learning not to play an unwinnable, unplayable game mode.

  • Considering Bottany Knowledge, one of few getting a buff, in this killer sided patch needed a huge downside proves they are extremely scared to give survivors anything good.

And that's only one example in a huge sea of evidence.

  • @IronKnight55 said:

Just uninstall (or stop playing). It’s the only way they will listen. The game is so far from balanced right now. It’s just a miserable experience.

    The best advice.

  • It'll continue to drop unless major changes occur.

  • The game is in a horrible mess. I would say I was right.

This is a public forum, not a killer main forum. If you are unable to debate and throw your hands up and call others a troll you disagree with, that is your problem.

  • It was set this way so killers get their petty kills. It's a killer sided game.

  • You can't do the gens when they take an eternity to repair, killers still stacking slowgen perks, built-in stbfl, survivor perks are literal trash, and killers so over buffed survivors all go down fast.

    Game is totally broken.

  • I predicted that. That's what happens when one side is spoon-fed and the other side is over-nerfed. The fun things nerfed and removed, and leaving everything and buffing everything for killers.

  • I agree.

BHVR has without a doubt ruined the game. Survivors are apparently not supposed to have fun which was obvious to me even before this patch, this one finally woke people up.

What they have done to survivor perks are a crime.

And then turned around and gave killers a mouth kiss.

  • @scenekiller said:

We don't need to be villianizing killers, they've spent plenty of time experiencing these same problems. This patch was a great step for them.

We need to be holding Behaviour accountable for finally giving solo queue some needed treatment now that there's a shining spotlight on how bad it is.

Great step for killers, horrible for survivors.

Solo Q is only bad because of making it so great for killers. Constantly being buffed.

The game expects too much from survivors. Half of the perks don't even work (like new DH and DS), and killer perks magically works.

We can clearly see how badly balanced this patch is because meta perks like Corrupt Intervention still does exactly what it was used for. Tinkerer too. All of these are crutches and still remain in the game...."for killers".

  • Yes. But, It was extremely killer sided even before the update. Now it got tipped over, like a ship capsizing.

  • @deskra said:

I am mostly a killer main, started the game playing as killer, but for the past months I have played countless more survivor matches and have gotten "decent" at it, but still not good, I am facing killers that are not "babies" but by no means are good either and generally the kill distribution was averaging 2k. From my experience the game is 100% killer sided at lower up to almost mid skill levels, with baby killers having an "overwhelming advantage" vs baby survs, survivor requires you to not ######### around and use every precious half a second you got, you ######### up you get hit.

Now, when the survivors become "good", the killers are starting to slowly lose their "advantage". They become locked in full meta perks, they need to play perfectly for a chance at hits and so on, survivors won't make "mistakes" that easily, and even when they do... DH, DS, etc... . An argument would be that some youtubers are still getting huge winstreaks(like otz's most recent all perk winstreak with killers), but keep in mind Otz is not your average killer, his "job" is this game so saying killer is fine bcs he performs well is stupid same goes for other cracked killer mains out there on yt.

Personally as someone who has been and will be mostly playing survivor from now on(bcs im bored of playing alone) I am very satisfied with these changes overall, and while not perfect they are 100% going in the right direction, maybe survs will actually learn the game and not rely on ######### DH every single game, whoever cries about a perk that saw more than 50% playrate, out of 107 perks, and thinks it was "balanced" needs a reality check.

Why are survivors expected to play perfectly but you say killers shouldn't be expected to play as well as Otz?

    That is double-standards.

  • I would believe they are quitting because the game is less fun now and unfair. Losing to a singular opponent that is putting into way less effort to win because the survivor objective is too difficult to finish is not really ideal. I don't blame survivors for quitting when everything fun was stripped away.

Looking at dead hard specifically, it would be like all killers suddenly not able to "lunge". Imagine if you are playing as a Tier 1 Myers all the time?

No survivor utility in chase. Killers, on top of all of these survivor nerfs, were insanely buffed exponentially. The longer gens, save the best for last perk being built-in was ridiculous.

It is a no-brainer why survivors find the game unfair and unfun.

  • Anyone denying the patch has broken the game only plays killer. It is that simple.

Survivor might be the least likely to win game mode of any game out there.

You won't find any other game where you can play it and almost guarantee a win like killer.

  • Fantastic as in the game needs to be completely broken in favor of killer with an unfair advantage, then I don't see how that is actually fun to know you are guaranteed to win.

That is not the definition of a game.

  • @Marik1987 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3072129#Comment_3072129

They should be able to win every game, but it should demand on the player, his mindgames, his game reading abilities etc.

If.a killer isnt able to win a game, its not balanced.

So survivors playing well is supposed to lose regardless?

A killer playing well shouldn't be entitled to a win. Right now the game gives killer the game by simply knowing a little what to do. Very unfair for survivors.

Yea, even the best had to tunnel and camp to get more than 4 hooks, when they dont run Nurse or Blight.

Hard and camp and still won.

Killer shouldn't be able to win every game.

Overbuffed before Patch? #########? Most of them were punching balls for good teams.

Only for a very bad killer. Balancing for extremely bad killers is ruining the game.

  • Killers were overbuffed before the update, now they are like god mode. Survivor is not only less fun with so many nerfs but killers have too much advantage.

  • @IamFran said:

    That's bugged.

If you put queue for survivors you have to wait at least two minutes and considering the bonus it should be almost instant.

The server should know how many are queuing. The matchmaking might be bugged but there is definitely a shortage of survivors as we know from the bonus award.

  • @NerfedFreddy said:

BP bonus reveals shortage on survivors and basically debunked whole killer agenda about "lack of killers". I wait compensation patch for survivors. Killer power fantasy has gone too far. That's not right

Yes. It has always been exaggerated and a fallacy that there is a shortage of killers. After years of non-stop killer buffs and survivor nerfs, it needs to reverse. Survivors need actually fun and better perks. Playing survivor has become unwinnable, especially as solo.

  • As I've said before, over time the game has evolved with constant survivor nerfs and the expectations and bar of performance is so high for the survivor side that randoms can't win in public matches. Randoms are supposed to be somewhat afraid of the killer and afraid to work on objectives but the killer can do his objective too quickly.

The game is only workable when 4 survivors know what they are doing playing together and the killer is a little less than high performance (not sweating and casually making mistakes).

  • Considering the survivor objective is being made much more difficult to complete than it already was and heavy nerfs to perks once again, killers that prevent that objective from being worked on should be rightfully nerfed.

Pig and Pinhead will be a problem.

Legion because you will be constantly mending and unable to work on gens.

Well it's just that you can't always win against it, but for most situations solo que can also deal with it because not all killers are god tier endgame camper too.

But if people want to CONSISTENTLY deal with things, they really should play SWF.

It is more like almost never win against it. Solo players don't have a chance against decent killers, especially when overpowered perks are used like NOED.

I'm stating, that playing soloq itself is the mistake/failure of survivor side.

Probably not something people would like to hear but more or less a fact.

That implies the perk (killer) is overpowered if a 4 man is the only way to have a chance to win.

The narrative of the game is that the 4 survivors are supposed to be solo.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 57
