DS can't protect you from all the dumb ######### you do, stop expecting it to.
That is funny, killer perks do exactly that. Get stunned at a pallet? Spirit Fury. Made a lot of mistakes and camped? NOED.
DS needs to be buffed so it doesn't penalize for actually playing the game because killers are tunneling with this dumb healing and gen tapping crap. It's not even mistakes, just playing the game. It is NOT fun.
-
They aren't wrong at all. Most are dying every game because survivors too weak. It's not only Trickster, but most of the killers are too OP. Trickster just happens to be the least OP. It should never take a full SWF sweat team to have a slight chance to win. BHVR needs to get their act together.
-
That's really nice, but no survivor buffs. Constantly buffing one side and nerfing the other isn't all that exciting.
-
@Zozzy said:
Why does DS need to be buffed? You are working on a gen so are clearly not being tunnelled.
That's not true, killers can return to tunnel and if they see you've done anything they will tunnel.
-
A perk shouldn't remove objective progress from the other side for doing own objective. It's too overpowered on high mobility killers. When it is only 3 gens left and a killer keeps popping a gen, then the perk literally wins the game. That is far from balanced if you ask me, especially when survivor perks have nothing similar. If a kiler isn't using Ruin, then they are using this perk instead. That tells a lot.
-
Because survivors have been nerfed for 5 years non-stop. It is balanced for killrush killer vs. 4 man SWAT sweat teams. If you are neither of these, step aside because you don't matter.
Killer is way too overpowered for anything less than a 4 man SWF genrush team. It's not a fun game any more because of having to genrush as fast possible with no interaction in the game. If you are wanting to play to have fun then you will lose.

excellent, the killer will have some time to find the hatch campers now \o/
Great, another unnecessary buff to killer. 4K balancing.
-
And revert the survivor nerfs. At this point, killers needs some nerfs and survivors need a lot of buffs.
There is no doubt now that the game has gotten really boring and unbalanced when survivors have nothing to use in the match. Every match is a loss, unless the killer is actually a noob. Killers win too much because survivors are over nerfed.

And when you play killer, which I assume it is either Billy, Nurse or Doctor (based on your statistics), do you get this experience?
Not really. I hardly play because it is too easy. It's either play killer and win or play survivor and lose.
-
I get this experience every time I play as survivor.

They were reduced in size, not strength of the tiles that usually spawn. It is definitely still survivor-sided.
Haddonfield is still garbage because of all windows being borderline infinites.
And if you somehow think haddonfield is killer sided:
Those killers looked like they just wanted an ez game. The Freddy could have used puddles to slow them down but he wanted pity. Killers aren't supposed to down everyone instantly. A long chase doesn't mean the map is broken, it means the killer was bad.

You mean besides DH, SB, adrenaline, PT, etc all the other good perks left? What about the survivor sided maps such as the farm maps, or Haddonfield and the game?
At one point the farm map was drastically reduced in size, those are really killer sided now. There is nothing in the middle of rotten fields. Haddonfield is really a little more fair after they baracaded the windows in the buildings. Killers still most of the time on Haddonfield so they are really killer sided more than anything.
-
It is very bad now playing survivor because there is nothing to work with, nothing good in years and what little bit that is there continues to be taken away. As seen in how decisive strike was ruined, changed so is unable to do anything with it. It was a well designed perk. Now it's a horrible situational perk that killers can play with and feel good. Look at Power Struggle how bad it is. Self-preservation will never help against a rank 1 killer. Meanwhile killers have everything to guarantee wins. BBQ takes all the guesswork away, hook someone and then chase the auras. And new perks to make Ruin way harder to remove along with another 1-shot perk. It's easy to see how killers 4K so much because they get it all.
-
Yeah, he is extremely strong and a force to be reckoned with, underrated for sure. You think it is going to be an easy match, but he is simply setting up his power so you can't loop him. Every bit of grass and pallets become a dangerous threat.

You do realise when you’re the only one left you should have a very low chance of escape. The killer managed to kill all your 3 teammates and didn’t slug for the 4k
It is really a lot less than very low, almost none. But what's wrong with a fair chance of escaping? I think if the hatch can be re-opened it would make it fair.

But not every killer runs whispers. It’s actually quite rare for how good it is
We still should account for the possibility of a killer having the perk. It's a no-win situation.
Even without whispers, the doors are usually so close together and it takes too long to open them. Or they find a spot and watch for the lights on the gate.
-
Not really, not in a long time because if you are not in a really good SWF, then the chance of seeing the gates opened is as close to zero percent as it gets. Survivors have been nerfed way too much and killers have been buffed too much is the cause. Killer perks are way too oppressive. Survivors have very little to work with.
There is very little hope when you spawn in the match. The only way to have fun is play for points and forget about the gates. Game is too killer sided.
-

You do realise gates are sometimes too far apart to even patrol right?
But it very rarely does happen. Even if it does, well, then they have Whispers.

@QwQw said:
The EGC literally only exists to prevent survivor from holding the game hostage.
Tell me honestly; when was the last time you saw a survivor die to EGC? You can just 99 the doors and it won't even activate.
C'mon Sluzzy, you're not even trying anymore man.
Like almost every time. I don't remember the last time a killer didn't know where the hatch was. It's very frustrating when you are trying to have hope to escape a 3 gen situation and he hooks the 3rd survivor, and then beelines straight to the hatch, then stands on a hill watching the gates.

It's really not. You can't do anything without losing it. That's not a perk at all.
-
How could he be better? He's already been buffed enough. He already instantly sets traps. Doesn't his killrates show he is one of the better killers? I don't see how he needs any buffs. Killers shouldn't be balanced for a 4K on average.
-
He has never had any nerfs like survivors have had since his release. Once upon a time you could stab him when he first picked you up as it was intended. At least he has a little counterplay, where you might actually find a pallet still standing.

DS works exactly as it did before in so far as dealing with tunneling. These various threads and posts are nonsensical. The only reason Killers are having a "field day" as you put it is because a bunch of Survivors threw a hissy fit and stopped running DS. If the Killer sees no Obsession, they know there is no DS. Are you picking up what I'm putting down? Run DS again, so there is an Obsession, and Killers will assume it is there and play accordingly.
If only did it help against tunneling. Most killers don't facecamp at red rank, but they tunnel. Healing and killer downing you without a perk means it really isn't a perk at all. It punishes for playing the game.
-
Killers already have enough help with perks. I don't think killers need another mechanic to help them win. They already got the endgame that is very killer sided with doors extremely close together and whispers to guarantee a kill. The beginning of the match is literally the only chance to barely get a head start and finish a gen or two.
-
Yeah, it's completely ruined now. Can't even barely touch yourself and it is gone. One must imagine how many has lost the perk and got tunneled anyway. Killers think tunneling is only facecamping, but oh my how that is not true at all.
-
Because BHVR is impartial to killer mains. You know it when David King brought the last useful survivor perk and that was like several years ago. Killers get game changing perks every chapter.
-
I agree 100%, it is too weak. It is not even a perk at this point. I can't think of any other game where a perk that is paid for and earned punishes you for doing things in the game. Especially a perk like decisive strike, with a skillcheck as you alluded to pretending to be decisive when it really is a killer perk.
It's like sprint burst that doesn't give you a sprint burst.

Ruin was not buffed. If you stay on a gen then ruin does nothing in its current form. Survivors have BT, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, Soul Guard, WGLF, THEY STILL HAVE DS, so how are these not 2nd chances? Blood Warden is easily preventable from just 99'ing exit gates. Once you know they have tinkerer you can expect it whenever gens are close to being done. Undying makes you cleanse 2 totem max now. NOED can never activate if you are actively doing totems in the match and during the match the killer only has 3 perks. If you can't win against a killer with 3 perks then i know where the problem is.
The old Ruin version could at least be countered by hitting great skillchecks. The new one requires you to find the totem because a decent killer can apply too much pressure and you lose way too much objective progress if you don't. I forgot to mention PGTW, a perk that removes progress for simply doing the easy objective. It really is an example perk that wins the killer the game because some totems take too long to find. Then add in Undying and now Ruin is suddenly twice as hard to remove. It's a second chance for a second chance.

Ruin got nerfed. NOED is probably never gonna leave the game. Dont know about tinkerer. plus I'm a killer main and it's not an easy mode compared to all your 2nd chance perks u survivors have.
Only killer mains would think Ruin was nerfed. It was actually buffed. Survivors don't have any 2nd chance perks at all, but killers do. Blood Warden is a second chance, Tinkerer, Undying, NOED is a real big one.

would explain some the nurse and hillbilly reworks
To be fair, when survivors are heavy nerfed every patch there comes a point when some killers finally have to be nerfed. Now several needs to be nerfed. It's very imbalanced to have strong killers when survivors in general are extremely weak.

Cleanse Ruin, get in a locker for BBQ, use your eyes to counter Tinkerer (very easy to determine if the killer has it by just paying attention, for the record), cleanse NOED. There, all your problems have been solved.
All of those perks are too much advantage for the killer. In most areas you can't see a killer coming with Tinkerer and if he is Bubba then it is a free down. That's broken.
-
Definitely not at all needed. Killer mains are masters at manipulating the devs and getting their candy. Unfairness is off the charts. Look at killer perks and then look at survivor perks for obvious proof. Killer perks never get nerfed like survivor perks. Ruin buffed, BBQ still not nerfed, Tinkerer massively buffed. NOED still in the game. Killers really do have the easy mode.
-
They need to wait and look at his stats because I'm sure he is killing well over 2. You need to learn him first. We don't need another episode like Freddy. He throws projectiles so the counterplay is extremely limited. If anything, survivors need to be buffed because most killers are too powerful, such as Blight with Ruin/Tinkerer.
-
You killed the party streamer.
You still scored well and killed one.
Honestly, in the game state with survivors, a rank 10 is capable of taking most any rank. A rank 1 killer is normally unbeatable.

I agree with you saying most perks are supposed to punish the opponent team, because they give you an advantage, which is exactly why people use perks. If they didn't give you an advantage, why use them at all?
I do disagree with DS going back to what it was. In solo Q it might have been fine, but it wasn't in a SWF.
My issue with the perk right now is that it still doesn't really prevent tunneling, which is exactly what it promotes.
A killer wont stop tunneling because of a 5 second stun, specially when it can only be used once, and you can be hooked twice. If the killer tunnels me through both hook stages. how is DS going to help me there? It isn't.
That's why it shouldn't be balanced around a 4 man SWF. Now Solos and casual SWF now suffers even more than they already did, taking all the fun out of playing the game because a killer thought a 5 sec stun was unfair. Well, I think it was unfair to be facecamped by a Bubba and then kill everyone else with NOED. Like, why was this not removed too?
You are right, it was nerfed without any buffs and it is a very bad anti-tunneling perk. It needs a lot of buffing to be a decent perk and fun. It's a boring perk now.

But going by the logic of "just playing the game" a killer has to hook and kill survivors, the killers only objective, to have 4 perks that invalidate successful chases only to say "try again" should not penalize the killer.
Perks should be like that, like survivors are punished for killer perks all the time. Right now, killers are hardly ever punished because all the counterplays are just too convenient. I mean, look how much Tinkerer punishes? Decisive Strike should go back to like it used to be and be fair.
-
That is not true at all. It's not fully healing someone, but you can as much as barely touch someone and it deactivates. Meanwhile, the Spirit has phased back to tunnel. Very, very bad designed now.
It is very unhealthy now because it forces you to do nothing in case you might want to use it. Why would something that is supposed to be a "perk" penalize someone for playing the game? It's almost like something you should inherently have without it being a perk. Does BBQ penalize a killer for playing the game? Nope, they get to see auras and get extra points.

The game mechanics say it's not tunneling, if your DS deactivates, it's not a tunnel.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2066597#Comment_2066597
Haha yeah not going to read this entire thread but I can imagine he's just repeating the same ######### over and over and ignoring every counterargument to his flawed arguments like he's been doing since I joined in.
Game mechanics have no idea of the intentions of the killer. He is chasing someone and the perk is denying player choice to stop an objective from regressing even during a chase. That is horrendous.
This is very similiar to a person healing and the killer returns to look for the same person and tunnels. It is all still tunneling. Killer mains love the perk now because they can exploit it and tunnel. And, of course, inability to do the objective.

You're really going to look at Trickster and tell me that they are listening to only killer mains? Are you serious? To this poster's point though, it is indeed a nerf and I agree with it. It lets you heal yourself. If you do literally anything else, you are not being tunneled at that point, which was the only point of that perk ever existing. Use Dead Hard if you want your cheap second chance.
Trickster is a really good killer. Have you even played him yet?
The problem is you can be tunneled shortly after doing those actions and it is very unfair.

60 seconds is a lot of time in dbd. 1 gen takes 80 and accounting for hook travel and time spent getting to the gen it might aswell be 1 gen worth of time.
In your case you mentioned you said you had to pick up someone off the ground. If the killer left you to down someone else was he really tunnelling?
You can get unhooked and if the killer is chasing you, you have to leave the person on the floor or you lose your perk. You know that is wrong.
-
Their management does need to stop listening to only killer mains.
Bubba can still hold his saw in a survivors face and prevent someone from playing the game. NOED, objective regression perks when survivors have none. Management is now guilty of balancing with double-standards.

I understand getting tunnels is frustrating but getting DSed after you hooked someone else was also annoying. The perk now fits it’s niche of being an anti tunnel perk but doesn’t extend to a shield perk
Now you have to take the risk of losing your DS to progress gens or waiting it out to get value from it.
Also if you hate slugging so much you should try soul guard. Works well against slugging blights using ruin
You can still tunnel after doing these little things like trying to pick someone up off the floor. Being unable to help your team when being tunneled sends a bad message. 60 seconds is a short about of time, it also doesn't need all of these ways to disable itself. It handicaps the survivor that has it.

I've probably played like 30 games since yesterday. Only 1 didn't have an obsession. I didn't use any obsessions perks myself btw.
That is definitely not the norm. But, that is only part of the issue. Player agency is completely gone now and that's extremely bad. Killers have the choice to play how they want, but survivor doesn't.
-
@Phasmamain said:
DS still serves it’s function as an anti tunnel perk. But the best way to stop tunnelling is to loop the killer long enough for him to give up
Especially with trickster being popular at the moment looping isn’t an issue so I don’t see the problem you’re having. Trickster can’t slug or tunnel well at all
That doesn't work for a killer like Blight. Too much map pressure, and if you are unable to do anything without losing it, then that is bad. I couldn't as much as pick someone up off the ground without losing the perk. That is not balanced at all. It's also definitely not fun. Games should be fun.
-

Sounds a problem that can be solved by getting good.
How does getting good help against a tunneler? With how easy it deactivates and lost, its a free pass to tunnel.
Being restrained is not fun.

He is not bad. Killers are not used to him yet. Everyone thought Deathslinger was really bad when he first came out. Once the masters learned his aim, he is deadly.
