Calling this patch a disaster based on what? It’s been out for 10 days...
so many cry threads, the first one started literally a few hours after it went live...
it’s been said so many times, the meta need to settle as well as the mmr... it’s way too early to call for big balance changes.
sure there are things that needs to be looked at, tunnel and camping might be decreasing with giving the bp bonus back to bbq.
my time with survivor have been better after the patch, now you have to work for your win, it’s not giving to you. Killers can run many different builds now, which is also a good thing.
im very pleased with the patch so far.

Not being forced to run so many slowdown perks really helps, now i can play with alot more varity in my builds

That is not my experience. I play against Thana almost every game, but its just makes it boring sometimes, not impossible.
Noone uses pop anymore, i saw ruin once and i had no game where dms was annoying. Eruption can be strong bc i have no way to tell, when someones get downed. Pain res doesnt matter really bc the killer does not find the gen most of the time. Well, i had a survivor, who wanted to counter pain res, and 99ed the gen, while i was slugged next to it. It lost us a gen and the game and made no sense.
And that brings me to the real problem. Teammates. They quit really often. Mostly after the first down. I had one guy dc on first down, when we only had 2 gens left. Its the mindset of the player: oh killer buff, it is so hard, i give up. Its so annoying.
I agree that camping needs to be nerfed and tunneling is still a problem, but in most cases, survivor leave before the killer does anything like that.
Totally agree. Often in the games I lose is not caused by resent patch, but because of teammates giving up. Playing 2-3 survivors with 5 gens left, is near impossible to win.

most boring gameplay ever. I havent encountered that for a long while as Killer, but suddenly it happened to me twice this patch.
I just camp whoever I caught and the last remaining get all slugged till they bleed out.
So you just want the survivors to run straight up in your face, or wait for you to get the first hit in?
you have reading perks to help you out.. Just because you find that playstyle boring, does that mean you are obligated to punish those survivors because they don’t play the game after you’re head… ok buddy, you seem very fun.
I like the stealthy way, it’s how it should be in a horror. I still recall the old days with endless loops and everybody running flashlight, constantly flashing at you to make you engage and then run to one of the endless loops.. They could keep the killer in chase for 40 min if they wanted, very fun and interacting…
-
My biggest problem is the matchmaking. The higher rank I got the worse teammates I get.
Most of the games I lost have been because of teammates dc and suicide.
Quite surprised on top rank that one game I got really good team that help each other, and the very next game I end up with teammates that throw all pallets even when the killer is nowhere close to them, they just hear the terror radius and they starting dropping pallets like crazy, so when you actually need it for mind games in a chase they are all gone..
But I really like that both killers and survivors are using so many different perks, so you don’t really know what to expect right now. That’s really cool :)
-
Sluzzy are you really still around.. I just back to the forum after been away for over a year and now after reading this thread I suddenly remember all those crying threads from you in the past.. Are you even playing or just here to start a war among killers and survivors?
anyway…
the game is not broken at all.. The patch just hit a few days ago and many survivors needs to adapt, I had to adapt too.. DH really helped a lot of people including myself, should probably have been fixed a lot sooner.
killers now have an easier time sure, but I’m sure it will reverse once many survivors start to play more carefully and not just throwing themselves on killers because they had DH to reach the next loop. The meta will surely change, and with this patch the devs have truly shown that they care, so if it’s needed they will come with changes to fix any issues.
ps I play both roles, so don’t even start with that killer main.
-
I ran DH before the patch hit, and sure made things harder now, but you just have to be more stealthy and have a plan in mind, if the killer shows up.
Maybe I’m just lucky, but I’m not facing much camping and tunnel. My biggest issue is getting bad team mates that dc the first time they go down, or won’t go for unhooking team mates.
played the past few days on iridescent 1 yesterday and escape most of the times, so the new patch have not had a negative influence on my solo survivor experience.
just give it time and try out some fun new builds. My killer experience have also been a lot more positive, now i can run fun perks instead of just a bunch of slowdown perks.
my biggest issue with the patch is Bp bonus they removed from WGLF and Barbecue & chili.
-
solo q is fine, i escape most of the times. The times I’m not, is because of bad team mates that either not doing gens or doing gens while their team is dying on hooks. Way to many survivors dc or suicides on hooks if they get caught as the first, that needs to be addressed. But other than that, I think solo q is in a very good state right now.
-
i really love the new patch, and i also play both survivor and killer.
My issues are the same as you mentioned, I have thought on ways to fix it, and seen other players solutions. This is the way it would fix it the problem:
NOED - should be reworked/removed entirely, it reward the killer for basically not doing his job.
Tunnel - let Unbreakable recover you from dying sate. Not just once per trial, as it is now.
This way we get a perk that counter that play style, and still let the killer have that strategy in the backpack.
Camping - let the timer pause as long as the killer is too close to the hook. (10-20 meters from the hook)
-
Spirit needs a rework, her power is stupid and very boring to play aginst.
-
I also experience alot more tunnel after the DS nerf, i never used DS before the nerf, i do now.
I do understand why survivors don't like DS, for it's hole purpose of being anti-tunnel is really not that great, but it is more balanced now. It could revice a small buff, like a longer stun time or a short speed bonus for the survivor. Because right now, in most situations you just get downed shortly after, unleas you are close to a pallet or window, but does a rare occations.
Another solution is rewarding the killers for not tunnel, i don't know how that could be done..
I think the best option is to give DS a small buff, killers can still play around it, and the sole purpose for the perk is still the same.

Actually, the game has existed for a lot longer WITHOUT the disconnect penalty than with it. If you just arrived, perhaps this isn't the game for you. =]
Plus, you're either a teenager or someone who didn't study anything about human psychology to think that punishment changes behavior, son. It doesn't. There is a short period of time right after the application of the punishment when the trend changes. People are back to dc. And I'll remain here, for your pleasure. <3
PS: It is not about the killer's fun, right? So if it sucks for the other four players to play against a camper/tunneler - and it always does - they should be punishing the selfish ass who is ruining it for everybody else. ;)
PPS: If they want people to stop disconnecting, the tome missions are far more effective than the dc penalty.
The DC penalties is there for a very good reason, you rarely see any DC now. Back in the days if you were very lucky, you could play a game without a single DC. I think you are the one that just came here, and have no clue how the game were before the penalties got implementet. The penalties were a high demand from the playerbase.
"you're either a teenager or someone who didn't study anything about human psychology to think that punishment changes behavior, son. It doesn't." -> If they don't change their behavior, they won't be playing at all. Sure, it won't change everyones behavior, but does that are here to play will surely change theirs.

I think that more perk slots should be added
FOR BOTH SIDES
It would add more variety to builds, potentially shake up the meta, and make the killer more powerful because now they aren't as limited as they were before.
Please, if you think I'm wrong, tell me I'm wrong. I just think it would be interesting and honestly it would finally allow me to play True Buff Dwight
It could actually be fun if once in a while got 6 perks weekend for both killer and survivor, it would definitely shake things up and make it interesting. Also a way to see if it can actually work.

i know Peoples who clicked on No in this poll section knows if this thing happen in dbd the tunnel he did and camping will be permanently Countered by 6 perks slots.
But Tunnel/slug/camping is part of the game, sometimes is the only way a killer can turn the game in his favor. If you face that alot, take perks that counter it.
It's not 1v1, it's 4vs1 so if you get camped or tunneled, your team should be doing gens. That's not always the case, but that's how teamgames is, like in every other game. Sometimes you have a good team, other times you don't, that also part of the fun.
again 6 perks is not a solution, it will make alot of other problems.
It dosen't sound like you play killer, you should. It gives a good perspective from both sides.
-
there are 4 survivors with 4 perks each. That's 16 perk slots vs killers 4. Don't know why you think it would be fair with 2 extra per slots, even one more perk slot for each survivor would make an exstreme difference..
-
Bond, DS, Prove Thyself, WGLF.
Just grinding BP so i can get all the perks i'm missing..
-
All of them.
But if i had to choose one it would be Demogorgon.
As second it would be one of these: Oni, Pyramidhead, Cannibal, Doctor and Trapper.

Why do people constantly bring up some steamers names as if it meant more credibility? You should honestly try to think for yourself and come up with your own ideas. Naming some random guy just because he records himself playing really gives you nothing extra. It takes credibility away even.
As for the rest of the thread, I did use it for tunnelling, and now that the perk is useless nobody carries it. Simple as that.
But it's not useless! its still an anti tunnel perk..
-
A killer with freezing power that could freeze pallets in place, and freeze windows, i think that could be really cool.
-
I only prestiged P1 Trapper, Meyers and P2 Ghost Face. I really do like the bloody outfits, but the amount of BP it cost to do so, it's just not worth it..
The bloodweb should do more for each time you prestiged the same character, like decreasing the cost of the perks/addons.. If they did that, i would definitely prestige more characters.
-
To play as:
Play aganist:
-
yeah i see this alot too when i play Plague. And when i rarely face a plague when im survivor my team always cleanse, and we end up getting detroyed by corrupt purge.. every single time!
-
Could be fun to make a big terror radius build with it.
Starstruck, Distressing, Unnerving Presence, Iron Grasp to add more time before you have to go for the hook. And then just chase the surviors around while you carrier one, not really good, but sure sounds fun :D
-
just take mad grit. Once the suviors knows you have it, they wont ever do the body blocking.. you have 3 other perks that are also good for body blocking, so it's really not a issue.
-
Favorite:
- Ghostface
- Oni
- Plague
- Huntress
- Pyramid Head
Least favorite:
- Freddy (Old Freddy so much more fun, to play with an against)
- Doctor
- Hag
- Spirit
- Clown
-
i run this build atm.
Ruin
Sloppy butcher
Monitor and abuse
BBQ & Chilli
-
I'd like to see Trapper or Huntress. Could make a really cool backstory on Huntress
-
I think Plague will come in the top, but i need to play her some more..
-
keep up the good work, this last patch were surely in the right direction. Been enjoying playing on both sides alot more

Prestige 1 - 3 perks spawn, can only buy 1
Prestige 2 - 3 spawn, can buy 2
Prestige 3 - 3 spawn, can buy 2, all perks spawn at tier 3I really like this idea. Right now there is not much sense in prestige a killer, but this would certainly help.
