I've had fun so far with the event at least on Survivor side. Haven't gotten on Killer side, but I plan to be a little silly there too. :)
I'll Mark you. Then hit you with snowballs. Then down you. >:)
-
Thanks for the heads up!
-
I think the mode is meant to be a dumb silly mode where you get more points for snowballs and snowmen than gens and hooks… but yeah, I think Mistle Toes are likely broken, I'm experiencing this too.
-
I just played 10 Survivor games tonight. You know how many Killers did this? How many actually did this?
0.Not a single one.
You're being disingenuous or you're hilariously unlucky. This simply doesn't happen as often as you think it does.
-
Because you shouldn't need it more than once. Use it properly. It's like Deliverance, you don't need more than one if you're smart.
-
Never bring these back again, BHVR. They ruin chases BOTH sides, randomly. They're instant sandbags, BOTH sides. They suck.
Do something else.
-
Since when is throwing snowballs "sweaty bullying"? They're… they're snowballs.
I just want this event to do more different stuff, not enough different here.
-
Haven't met any Toxic Killers this event but have met a lot of toxic Survs… both sides… kinda funny, that.

This is a mischaracterization. All those actions are extremely cheap moves that make the game almost pointless to play from a survivor's perspective and which generally take almost no skill to perform.
Put yourself in the survivor's position and take tunneling as an example: Is it fun at all to not get to participate in any way other than to be chased for your entire match and eliminated with no realistic chance of escape? What's the point in even playing survivor if that's what's going to happen?
You don't actually want more skilled Killers.
Skilled Killers that learn their characters well are a menace. Skilled Killers learn things like Urobending, how to hide and juke the Reveal mechanic as Ghostface, how to bump logic as Blight, how to use the Blink properly as Nurse. Skilled Killers learn little tricks that make you go, "HOW DID THEY GET THAT HIT THEY MUST HAVE CHEATED" but all they did was learn the game and their Killer well. Skilled Killers learn what perks work with their powers and playstyles, how to adapt, and what to do against certain strong Survivor tactics. Skilled Killers learn when to drop chase, how long to chase, when to go where, game sense, when and how and where to do tactics you consider "extremely cheap" because they're the right move in a situation… and they do those things VERY WELL.
Skilled Killer are Skilled Killers who use tactics you don't like very, very well, but also don't need to always use those. Skilled Killers adapt.
We've heard it all before.
You don't want more skilled Killers. No trueblooded Survivor Main actually does, because Survivors just wanna win these days. Kinda like they've been accusing Killers of doing for years. You don't want stronger more skilled Killers. You actually want Killers you can easily beat, so weak their powers mean nothing. Easily looped, easily beaten, not a true threat, more "fun" for you but less enjoyable for the person playing. Well, you're GETTING Killers like that with the nerfs going on recently. Now you have Killers that fall back more and more and more and more on these unfun tactics nobody likes, including Killers, and people wonder why that's happening.
When will it be enough?

It's nice to see more people coming around to this realization. I've been complaining about my teammates for sooo long. Some of them are just new, so I don't blame them, I blame the terrible matchmaking. Others, however, are ridiculously selfish or purposeful trolls.
I've had some amazing solo queue games where my teammates played like they gave a damn and so we all took care of each other. Decent teammates are unicorns, I talk lovingly about those matches nonstop for a week and reminisce regularly forever after. When I play duo, if we have a good teammate who's in trouble, I'll go the extra mile and even tell my friend "I'm going to die for this unhook, make sure this guy gets out." It's nice to escape, but outside of challenges it's not important. I just want to have some fun. It feels good to do something risky and altruistic, and there's no actual danger because it's a video game and not real life. Then there are my teammates who hide on the outskirts of the map all match because apparently if they die in the game they die in real life. And I'll skip talking about the intentional sandbagging, throwing, quitting, trolling, etc.
Killers mostly play to win. Some will do things that have nothing to do with winning for no other reason than to make others miserable (lol, how pathetic, like anything they can do compares to solo queue teammates), but that's not the norm at all. If playing to win isn't fun for either the player or the opponents, that's either a flaw in the gameplay design or a sign the unhappy person is playing the wrong game. The playerbase likes to try to instruct others on how to play to win, often not to help them win more but for the advice-giver's benefit. Telling opponents "Don't play efficiently, lighten up because that's more fun for your opponent" is strange.
Anyway, I'm rambling. My bad.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3855971#Comment_3855971
Ah, now you're talking about flaws in the game's design. I agree that the game is very flawed. When the game throws serious and casual players with varying degrees of skill and possibly conflicting playstyles into the same lobbies, we end up with a lot of matches full of friction between four people who are supposed to be teammates going against a killer who probably doesn't share their opinion of just how casual or competitive the game is.
I'm glad solo queue has gained so much info. It doesn't replace the power communication provides SWF, but that's at least partially user error as is proven by the number of teammates who teabag incessantly demanding to heal me when I'm broken.
It really does make no sense to complain your opponent is going too hard when their only goal is to eliminate you. Killers have one goal and it's to kill Survs. Survivors have one goal and it's gens. I am MORE than willing to offer my kill, offer hooks, let some people go, purposefully tie, or let people get some gens if you're struggling.
But I want to be treated like an actual human being with thoughts, feelings, and a desire to simply play the game. Not like fodder or like a horrible person just because of who I'm playing. I just. Want. To play. The game.
And the game says as Killer I have to kill you, and as Survivor I need to do gens and get out. There is nothing sweaty, problematic, or unsportsmanlike about doing whatever the game allows me or anyone else to do in order to reach that goal. This entire community has GOT to stop being babies whining about "my side my side my side" and start seeing the other side's issues, because they're substantial on both damn sides. I am so damn sick of the entitlement in this community and the NEEDLESS Killer player slander that keeps. Happening. Killer players are people who want to play Killer in the video game, not actual villains cackling behind screens out to ruin your chance at a win by using tactics the game allows them to do in order to eliminate you in the elimination game.
I think MOST Survivor Main players REALLY need to hear these, so all of you pay attention:Nobody. Owes. You. Mercy. In. A competitive. Minded. Game.
Killer. Players. Are not. Themselves. The problem.
IF YOU ARE WILLING TO BRING THE TOUGHEST PERKS, ITEMS, TACTICS, A FULL SWF, MAP OFFERINGS, ETC. TO WIN, THERE IS
N O
REASON NOT ONE TO COMPLAIN IF THE KILLER SLUGS, TUNNELS, CAMPS, AND DOES EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO ALSO WIN.IF YOU PLAY THAT WAY, YOU ARE
N O
BETTER THAN THE SWEATY BLIGHT WITH FOUR SLOWDOWN WHO BROUGHT YOU ALL TO COLDWIND.The fact of the matter is this: Killer is the serious mode where you can choose mercy; Survivor is and always has been the party mode. Sweat goes both ways. If as Killer you're pushing super hard with the toughest things all the time and you care THAT HARD about a damn winstreak, you are a sweaty Killer and you are what's wrong with the game, NOT Survivors trying to have fun. If as Survivor, you care THAT HARD about escapes, genrushing, escape streaks, or doing anything other than trying to survive and succeeding/failing with your friends in a party atmosphere to the point you are telling people to off themselves for playing meme builds and griefing them for not being as serious as you, then you are a sweaty Survivor and you are what's wrong with the game, NOT Killers doing what Killers do.
And nobody likes or wants to play with you for a reason.

I must be the luckiest man alive, because I've never played against back to back killers who slugged. I think that's the exception, not the rule. That, or mismatches are still happening. Because if your teams are as casual as I'm detecting, you shouldn't be getting killers like that.
I think out of all the Surv rounds I play in a month, I only ever get slugged to bleedout like this… something like three times. And that's usually out of at least 50-60+ matches. And it usually only happens during the sweatiest times of the month like Rank Reset or if a mode/event is on.
I rarely get Killers doing this on purpose.
-
@LordGlint said:
They're never going to release basekit unbreakable since slugging is the appropriate counter to sabo/pallet/flashlight saves. In order to chase the person trying to make the save, you have to leave the original target slugged.
https://youtu.be/QY41Ytw8nFg?si=9PEBdbzithT2enW3
Here's a good example video where slugging was 100% the appropriate counter. During thebasekit unbreakable PTB, survivors basically made hooking impossible knowing killers COULDNT punish it by slugging.
This is the reason.
We really shouldn't have this sort of Survivor SWF tactic become strong, ever. It's nothing more than a bully squad tool from the heyday of Surv-sided DBD back in 2017, and it's only ever truly used to grief. In actuality this sort of play should be hard nerfed into the ground; it's unfun for everyone and it's only literally ONLY done in the hopes of getting a baby M1 Killer Main to bully.
I mean I cannot think of one serious, legitimate reason as a Survivor you and your SWF would ever want to do this if your goal is to win, and not just grief some random Killer.

You are not wrong.
Most problems survivors face in this game are caused by their teammates. While there are some cases of killers playing in manners worth complaining about, I myself rarely ever think much about what a killer did past the end screen (unless they were really cool, then I never forget). But my teammates? Oof. Don't touch gens, go down within seconds, rush in for a save or run in circles around the gen we almost had done or spend all their time in lockers and behind rocks. Get slugged under a hooked survivor and stay there. Every misplay they can make they do. And I just know that some of them are griping about the killer and how toxic he was when all he did was play killer.
If players would recognize this and complain about SBMM instead of their opposition's playstyle, maybe people's attention would be directed where it's warranted. Us vs Them is a form of misdirection that is unfortunately effective.
Finally someone says the truth. It's almost never just Killers being sweats. Both sides sweat, pretty hard too.
It's mismatches and teammates being useless. 9/10 times my games are lost not because the Killer was being a jerk or sweating or wants to be cruel, but because they want to win and my teammate thinks I "didn't do enough" and leads them to me, or misreads a situation, or isn't anyone else's similar skill level against an equally competent Killer, or is there to grief me, or just doesn't like my face, or is more comp than me when I'm goofing around with my friends.
9/10 times it's not the Killer humping me on the floor and bleeding us all out, it's some salty SoloQer telling me to get cancer and delete the game because I DARED to be the guy that got targeted by a tunnelling Chucky, or I waited a tad too long behind a tree with my stealth build to come save my friend from a hook so therefore I deserve to have Bubba led to me when I'm one of the last two, or they think I'm a baby with 50 hours despite clearly knowing how to play because they believe THEY'RE the main character.
BHVR was right on that Reddit thread about SoloQers. Y'all are selfish. Y'all play selfishly. Y'all don't care about your team, or you're so incompetent it doesn't matter. Y'all only care about your precious escapes, adepts, challenges, etc. and it creates situations where nobody has any fun except the Killer who gets free kills on the rest of us and easy wins. And it makes me really not want to play Survivor outside of a full SWF at all, because at least as Killer my successes or failures are mostly up to my skill, who I got matched with, and RNG.
The game isn't ruined for me as Survivor by sweaty Killers. It's ruined for me by crappy Survivors. Shame on literally all of you SoloQers, be better.

You will get humiliated either way. It's just a matter of time. And can you really say you had an intense good game if you do nothing but the cheapest tactic available? Can you reall feel good about it and be proud?
That's like going for mush potatoes because chips are too hard and spicy. You have teeth, so use them. This isn't a player problem, and it shouldn't be expected for players - who have varying levels of skill - to fix it.
This is a game design problem. If the Devs make these tactics useful, appealing, and a way to win, because they demand winning means a 3-4k or you're garbage, then they need to design the game better.
Just because you have teeth doesn't mean you know how to use them or that the hunt you're in is designed to be able to let you use them. Especially when using them feels more detrimental than just falling back to brute force. if you really can't chew the chips, and the game is demanding you chew the chips, then why wouldn't you just give up and go for mashed potatoes? You're hungry after all and your goal is potatoes.
There should never, never, ever be a case in this game where ANYONE is able to get humiliated in a one-sided stomp. Ever. So why wouldn't Killers and Survivors play this way? Why not genrush and tunnel? After all you want to not be humiliated, you want to win, so why not use the easiest thing available? There's no incentive not to except pride, and pride is the first damn thing to go out the window in a situation where you just do not want to be humiliated.
Because humiliation is painful. There's actually studies on how repeated feelings of humiliation and shame, in any setting, can cause emotional and mental damage to people. It ends up feeling similar to your body as if you have been having your heart repeatedly broken or been repeatedly stabbed in the gut as you learn NOT to go easy on anyone to avoid that negative stimulus. That's normal and that's literally actually how your brain reacts to repeated rejection and humiliation, it sees it and parses it as PAIN you're supposed to avoid.
So why wouldn't you, when gamer culture tells you winning is everything, go hard all the time and choose mashed potatoes over chips if it means avoiding pain? The chips are sharp and hard and can cut your gums, the mashed potatoes might make you look like a baby but they at least give you a break from gum laceration. Being told you suck due to how gamer culture works is all about shaming the other person for not being good enough. It's stupid, it's cruel, but that's how it works. Gamer culture is BASED on abuse and humiliating people.
And that's really sad.

@Mandy said:
This is a very good point, it is something we are aware of. For killers they have to learn one character - for survivors they have to learn how to play against all of them and when things change that can be hard to manage / learn.
DbD is complex, it's not easy on either side - there's a fair bit of skill involved on both sides, the game is most definitely not easy, it only appears easy when you're not very experienced in the game…it's deceptive.
Any ideas for how to make things easier for players and I'm all ears (no dbd pun intended), as there will undoubtably be other killers that have more complex powers.
We need a tutorial overhaul for one, and we need to have reminders in game that the other side is human for another.
We also need clarification once and for all, in game, if certain tactics are sweaty/fair game or not. Is it skillful and a tactic to pressure with some slugging/downs or not? Is genrushing a tactic or just sweaty? If they're not tactics, then why are some Killers based around being good at pressuring downs and why can we combo a bunch of tools/perks/teamwork to push gens to absurd speeds some Killers can't keep up with?
We need Killer bots to practice against in customs, and help when Killers disconnect.
We need a bleedout button, a faster bleedout, and a forfeit button for BOTH SIDES. It's completely unfair and discouraging to force Killers to sit in miserable rounds they can't possibly win in, and it's equally unfair and discouraging to force "we're here to goof around" teams to stay in games with a Blight with four slowdown going on thier 5,000th win in a streak. Nobody has fun when they feel forced to play.
We need ingame assurance that yes, it's normal to lose as Survivor slightly more, and that only YOUR escape counts as a win or whatever.
We need deep disincentives for griefing - if you four slug and bleed everyone out, zero points. If you and your SWF come in to mess up a baby M1's day with "can't hook me" builds, zero points. If the other side can't even get one gen or a few hooks to a kill, because you're so mismatched in MMR, zero points.
We need an MMR degrade that is equal to MMR gain, both sides, I am SICK of coming back from a break and being slammed around and I am SICK of getting terrible teammates in SoloQ.
We need people to stay in the game. Remove self-ending on Hook. Just remove the ability to do that. You should only be able to do it if you bring something like Deli, Slippery Meat, a Luck offering, etc.
We also desperately, Mandy, need a way you can "win" by pipping even if you don't escape or don't 3-4k. We need the game to be less sweaty overall. DBD needs to base wins around how much you can do in a round, things like hookstages rather than kills, and based on how well you do at certain things NOT just how fast you can crank gens and leave. In fact maybe 4king or pushing gens too fast should be punished with fewer BP, I dunno. Basically, the game needs to be less sweaty, the requirements for doing well shouldn't hinge on how well you dominate the other side, and you shouldn't need to win/dominate the round to Pip, EVER - not everyone is comp and this game has gone increasingly comp while the Devs seem to want desperately to make it more casual. If it's intended to be comp fine, but if it's intended to be casual with a side of comp, there need to be more wincons and casual elements so skill and escapes/kills aren't the only way you get ANYWHERE or feel accomplishment.
Because right now, the Game is black and white. It outright says "if you don't escape/kill everyone, you lose." Which means Survs feel pressured to always need to 4 man out, and Killers feel pressured to always need to 4k, and that leads to sweaty unfun for everyone. Do something about that if you want the game to be more casual like tag and less comp e-sport.
-
You also need to remember: Incentives are there to INCENTIVIZE you to play the side that needs more to help with queue times. If you have no incentive or a low incentive the queues are more balanced and games should be equally fast or slow to get into. If you have a high incentive, that's when you know nobody wants to play that side - because BHVR has to bribe people to do it.
So, if you think somehow a lack of an incentive means "nobody wants to play that side because it's miserable", you're dead wrong. It's the complete opposite - a high incentive means nobody wants to play that side and the Devs are bribing us to play it. Having a high incentive on say, Survivor all the time is bad, having none is actually good because it means people are playing Survivor.
If you ask me there shouldn't be high incentives or any incentives hardly ever, the BP gain should just overall be better.

Absolutely not. Neither the Coldwind maps nor Haddonfield are free wins for killers. They'll still have to sweat. Survivors just aren't smart with the stuff they're given. If you have a stronger pallet, why would you run to the weaker one? If the gens are spread out, why would you 3-gen yourself? So on the maps that don't have a ridiculous amount of strong stuff for survivors to use, they act like, "We have nothing to use here."
Please tell me you're joking. Please please tell me you're actually joking.
I can 4k as Trapper on those maps without even bringing Gen hold. That's how bad they are. Take the blinders off please friend.

It isn't that I haven't played a lot of killer, I have around 5.5k hours in the game, mostly on survivor for sure but I have played a lot of killer too. I just don't enjoy the role that much.
I mean, people can claim this and that reason but I have been playing this game for a long time and it is pretty obvious something is up as survivor queues were never this quick
You're certainly free to believe that if you like.

Here we go again.
If the perk is so helpful, then where are all the people running Weaving Spiders?
Right, there aren't any because it's a terrible perk that usually hurts the team more than it helps.
Good Survivors who can make value from niche perks run Weaving. It's like Potential that way.
You will never be convincible, you seem more interested in trying to win an argument. Have a good day.
-
Bleedout option is necessary. I am sick of being slugged for four minutes. I am also sick of losing Survivors because they think I'm slugging instead of using them as a pressure-down for a teensy fraction of a bit, and if it goes a touch too long by mistake or because a chase takes forever, they decide to "punish me" by crawling off into a corner to waste my time while I'm dealing with putting out fire so I can't just come back and hook them when I'm done dealing with something else nearby.
Let Survs bleed out. 2 minute wait time max.
-
There's actually a lot of reasons besides "Survivor is just that miserable." Your Killer incentive and wait can change based on:
- Time of day you play
- How many people are on
- If there's enough people in your server area who are within your MMR
- If there's a mode or event coming
- If more people in your area just prefer to play Killer
- If there's an incentive bonus - currently incentives appear to be broken, so ignore this
- If it's end of the season/rank reset or not
And so on. It's not all just "Survivor is miserable" because clearly enough people are playing to give you rounds.
Proud of you for branching out and playing both sides too. More people should.

The thing is, I dont really see that an incentive is needed. Because the best Perks for Killer are Slowdown-Perks and those mostly require hooking someone. So there is already an incentive to hook people, the issue here is that slugging is just too powerful currently, ESPECIALLY on strong Killers with good mobility.
Even if we had incentives like BBQ in the past, it was a pretty bad incentive, since you could get the double Bloodpoints, even if you went for a full slug or a tunnel. So even IF something like that would be implemented, it would need to have restrictions (and I dont think that it is possible to have restrictions for slugging. For tunneling you can simply go for - 1 Survivor dead, no more Stacks or hooking the same Survivor twice in a row, no more Stacks… For slugging it would be more difficult)
And furthermore, players who go for full Slugs right from the start or are bleeding out people on the ground are not those who actually care about incentives. They lose quite a bunch of BPs anyway since bleeding out grants next to nothing, so it is quite clear that they are mainly doing that to be annoying.
I think if I would try to find a solution, it would be the possibility to pick yourself up if two others are in the dying state. One person would not be enough, because this would remove the possibility to use slugging for pressure or to avoid something like DS (as if someone would need to do that anyway, lol). It could also be that if you are on the ground for a minute that you can then stop your Bleedout-Timer and do a full recovery over 30 seconds or so. This would allow people to pick themselves up 3 or 4 times in a game, while still taking around 1 1/2 minutes each time, which makes it not really viable to keep Survivors on the ground as the Survivor-Team.
Or, you can go the other route and let Survivors crawl faster on the ground at the cost of a increased Bleedout-Timer, which would make it possible to leave the match faster.
I see your point, I actually really like your idea. I think a bleedout timer should be a thing.

But the effects are not strong lol
Invocations usually end up providing negative net value for the survivors. 9% extra speed while invoking is hardly going to cause any problems.
Having 10 less charges on every gen on the map isn't strong? On what planet is that not helpful or strong in the right build? Reducing generator time is ALWAYS strong for Survivors.

I'm a Pig main for the most part. Pig is one, if not the only killer, that has an incentive to NOT tunnel. This being: spreading the RBTs for slowdown.
I stopped trying to win in my killer matches because it ruined my fun over the years. Dbd became more like a job than a game. That's the point where one has to reevaluate.
This does not mean that I throw every match. I consider myself very good at playing good Mandy. At least I have enough practice and experience under my belt. I go for gameplay. Not for winning. I know how dbd works and that more often than not, getting a 3 or 4k is not realistically doable with the loadout I use. This is not a problem for me. I look at my own gameplay and try to have fun.
I almost never tunnel and try to improve my chase (ambush, moondash and m1 mindgames) and map surveillance (memorizing survivor movement throughout the match).
If the match was fun to me, then that's a win in my book. I don't have to get kills to be satisfied.
I vibes with that as a Ghostface Main and I try to be that way too. Ghostie similarly is one of the few Killers incentivized NOT to camp hooks or slugs, since he can be revealed that way. I like to find new ways to trick people in chase with my Shroud and crouch, it's like a fun little game to see if I can get one over on the Survivors or get an ambush on alert Survivors.
I'm confident enough at this Killer that I don't have to play to win all the time. I'm not going to force it if it's not meant to happen; I'm gonna keep spreading hooks and playing the way I want to and using what I want to in order to enjoy the round or accomplish my goals. Even my build only really works if you spread hooks. If I'm getting to the point I "need to win", I need to put the game down, not force more wins. Actually I like to wind down this time of year, right around Bone Chill. I play very vibey and chill and even less caring of a win than normal.
I do the same with everyone else I play. For example I am willing to goof a bit with Gloaming as Dredge like an excited little dance, I'm not mean or anything but I do play hard!

You know, I have TRIED to do that, but it turns out, we get into the same problems I already mention.
I break ghost face out of his stealth, he already has me marked 80% of the way. Then he just has to follow me around for like 15 more seconds and can instantly pop his instadown.
Admittedly, I am not a great survivor player and rather suck at looping. But your response to cheap instadowns can't just be something like "just don't go down."
Then learn what line of sight is, how to break it, and how to loop. His weakness is M1 chase. His other weakness is teamwork. He crumbles against a really good coordinated SWF. He crumbles in M1 chase. He crumbles against fast gens on big maps, especially bright ones.
He has a myriad of weaknesses. All Killers have weaknesses. Please trust this Ghostface Main, he is very painfully easy to beat if you try.
-
I still give hatch too, the hell do I care about a free Mori? Like yeah, I might take it, but sometimes I don't. I feel like it's still a nice gesture. I also prefer spreading hooks, 8hooking, 2k+10 hooks, etc. when I am being chill and not trying to "perform" or whatever. In fact I LIKE being able to grant mercy sometimes and I wish the devs would reward doing that with special points events or giving some sort of boost in pipping. We should incentivize fair play.
-
I have said EZ ir GG or whatever if we all got disconnected or something weird happened as a joke. Most people get the joke. But because tone is hard online though, I usually just don't say anything at all.
-
I really, really hope that alongside the Thrill fix, they're planning to fix flashbangs. They've been glitched for months, at least since the Flashbang update if not longer. I am sick of being blinded when my face is up against a wall because the Survivor dropped the flashbang inside my Killer while I pickup. I'm equally sick of Thrill.

Outdoor maps that are killer sided just happened to favor the killer to the point to where they're miserable to play on. Vecna's map, Haddonfield, and all Coldwind maps, spawn gens that are grouped together, sparse in useful tiles and pallets as a whole, and are mostly way too small, especially for the Dungeon and Haddonfield.
There's nothing wrong with killer sided maps as long as there's one thing for survivors to work with. If the map is small, lacking half-decent pallets, and have generators that are kissing you can't expect people to not complain.
I agree, but the issue too is it depends on the Killer. Ghostface is awful on Coldwind because it's bright. Meanwhile Oni is awful on Lery's because it's indoors.
-
Coldwind was so badly Survivor-skewed that BHVR overreacted and made it even worse. Now it's kinda nonsense for everyone and a free win for several Killers. It's like Haddonfield that way.
Still sucks to stealth in though.
-
Your MMR is too high.
Lose more, and you will see other Killers. Take off the strong perks and items. The cure is to not sweat. You got these high levels sweaty Killers by sweating, most likely with strong meta items and perks, and possibly even with a strong SWF team of strong players.
If you want variety, you can't be pushing to win every game. The same is true of Killers - if you want games that aren't sweaty, stop sweating.
-
IDK but maybe stealth-based Killers (besides Chucky who has a lullaby and Sadakp who shouldn't even have one) should have smaller Terror Radii, while anyone with range or quick movement like Blight should have slightly larger ones like Wesker does (or a Lullaby).

It seems that you do not even know what the activation conditions are.
Moment of Glory requires opening or rummage 2 chest and 60 seconds broken then healed immediately once injured.
Clean break requires you to heal another survivor to activate it and then you have another requirement that requires the survivor to heal you to press the button to become broken for 60 seconds and then heal immediately.
So in what part of the world is this so powerful that it justifies spending a whole minute to heal?
With these conditions it is impossible, and my suggestion does not change these requirements at all, it is just a broken timer of 60 seconds that needs to be reduced a little, and if you are unable to hit the survivor within 60 seconds or 40 seconds, then this is a problem with your skill.
You opened with insults.
I have no reason to respond to you further since you like to insult people.

This would not work. We know from the past that incentives alone dont work to change any behavior.
@Topic:
At this point it is inevitable that there will be something about slugging in the future. Slugging goes rampant, especially slugging for no reason. Nobody really has something against slugging when the Killer needs pressure, but there is so much slugging going on at 5 Gens or simply to be annoying.
Then what is your version of fixing the issue? i'm not trying to argue, I'm genuinely curious - how would you fix this?
Because here's the thing: punishments don't work either, the just drive people away and leave only the sweats who will slug through any punishments anyway. See every Killer who still just proxy camps hooks despite 70 second sacrifice time AND an anti facecamp. You need both. One doesn't work. You need a carrot AND a stick. Players are certainly pushing it, but how do we fix it without punishing people who aren't even intending to, ruining the game flow, or otherwise creating any issues?
A benefit for not doing it is a start at least. I run a hook spreading build, I would use perks like these.

Doesn't really matter if he's "C-tier" or not. All the tier lists big streamers make are trash anyway. Pretty much every exposed hit this guy gets feels cheap and unearned.
ALL the ghost faces I wind up going against just use a little semblance of stealth to get closer, but it always ends with there being a stare down and them being revealed. Well that's great, you probably say, thinking everything is fine. But the problem? Now my stalk meter is like 80% just from that, so no matter how clumsy and hamhanded they handle their stalking next time, they just get a free down.
At the very least, the devs need to make it so that:
- Ghost face can't stalk you while he's in chase.
- The meter decreases slowly over time like with trickster, or when you reveal him.
- Give him something else to compensate. Faster cooldowns, more speed while sneaking.
That's literally the point of Ghostface. He uses his stealth to get close and hit. It's how you play him, and with how buggy the Reveal is it's not cheap or unearned at all, it's actually pretty hard work sometimes if the Survivors know what they're doing.
Just say you want Killers you don't like nerfed because you hate them. Just please admit the truth. BHVR is not and should not be nerfing Killers just because some people find their mechanics frustrating. I hate facing Plague, does that mean I should ask BHVR to nerf her? Of course not.
He is not strong enough to justify the nerfs you want even with other buffs. But I do agree, he could use some more love and some working on his Reveal mechanic if not a full on rework.

Because one minute is plenty of time to do an invocation, the idea is for it to be a timesink for a relatively game-altering or strong effect. Also it would be easily abused with stuff that causes Broken, and having multiple Survivors on an Invocation already speeds it up. We don't need everything to be faster all the time.
I agree Treacherous Crows needs some sort of change for the effect it causes, but remember… it creates permanent info on the Killer every time they disturb a crow. Something you do by default as Killer all the time unless, I believe, you're undetectable.
-
The cooldown is long because of the same reason Buckle the People got nerfed. Having to hit a Survivor three times to down them is unfair, unfun, and bad game design.
60 seconds is just right, any lower and it would feel too strong. It's meant to be a risky type of perk, like Deliverence is.
-
I agree! They can start by making hooking actually viable and desirable again. Maybe by giving, I dunno, some sort of BP bonus? Or some kind of really nice effect, I dunno… like a speed buff per hook or a generator reduction without a token system?
Yeah that would be nice if we had perks that really incentivized strong effects per hookspread, wouldn't i- OH WAIT WE HAD THOSE. People hated it and got them nerfed, and one of them got the BP incentive removed.
Thanks again, community and devs.

You admit alot that you camp and tunnel and use noed to boot. So am thinking maybe that is why they use the get good. Everyone has their right including you to play and enjoy the game as you see fit. Do not be surprised if they say that if you did those things.
However looking at the other side of things, if you did not camp or tunnel and beat them normally, then they have no excuse for their lack of skills.
Killers too bash survivors who played well like running them all game or get a lucky kobe or deli out when they thought they would be getting at least 1 free kill. Thus the life of pvp no one honestly likes losing xd.
This isn't just a Killer only issue though, I've seen Killers tell Survivors to "git gud" for using perks like WoO. It really does go both ways, let's not pretend it doesn't.
-
Because some players have very fragile egos and need to kick you down a peg. Ignore them.

- Find me posts where a Survivor complains about being sent to Treatment Theatre with Shape or Ghost Face. You won't. Only Killer Mains complained about Map Offerings. You kinda did it in your own reply.
- If you're complaining about a disadvantage you are also a sweat and want to win badly. If you're as casual as you think you are, you wouldn't care.
- You aren't paying attention if you don't see people complain about this. Haddonfield is currently the most Killer sided map in the game, everyone complains about it.
- Maps HEAVILY disadvantage the other side to lightly inconvenience them depending on the map. It's not a case of not caring. It's a case of some maps still to this day being too sided. It's a problem. Sweating has nothing to do with it, you can be casual and not want to face the sweatiest players alive. I sure don't want to see tunnelling Chuckies on Swamp any more than I do sweaty Survs on Eyrie.
- You will not listen to me, your mind is made up and I'm not going to argue. Have a lovely day. :)

Just want to chime in here, it doesn't matter what you play more of when talking about what role you "main." I used to make this mistake too.
An assertion that someone is a killer or survivor main is an assertion on what their favorite role is to play - not which role they play more of. You saying you prefer killer is the evidence you are a killer main, just like me saying I prefer survivor is evidence I am a survivor main (despite the fact that I've been playing more killer than survivor recently). A fairly well-known streamer I know has changed from a survivor to killer main because he finds killer more enjoyable, but he still mainly plays survivor on stream because that's what his audience knows him for and expects from him. You get it.
Also, I disagree with the person who was arguing with you - I don't think that someone being a killer or a survivor main necessarily means that they're biased. I, as a survivor main, was very vocal for a long time about thinking Distortion should only recharge in chase, for instance, and I've advocated for many killer-related buffs over my time here.
That's fair and I shouldn't have even gone there, I know it really doesn't matter. But this person and their friends have been literally following me around the forums to complain every time I post, I was testy. I've blocked them now so it doesn't matter, but still.

Singularity. Pay attention to the content creators and what they complain about those are often the things that get changed. Otz and a few others have posted videos about slugging and singularity so i suspect that is what is next.
I certainly think a lot of the outcry comes whenever content creators do stuff. It's the same reason everyone has the same exact tierlists despite the fact you don't need tierlists unless you play comp. Everything works fine at the casual/pubs level. Ask any M1 Main.

This game isn't survivor sided nor killer sided.
It's meta-sided. Who ever brings the strongest items, perks, killers, skill, tactics will usually win.
A viscious cycle since one side sweats the other will sweat even harder and-so-forth…
I broke that cycle myself a long time ago and took this game in an extremely casual way, which in return gave me a game that is acutally fun and pleasant to play and I will see myself playing for quite some time again.
But hey those are my own 2-cents, I ain't gonna tell y'all how YOU should play though :)
This is what I have started doing and need to do more. Fortunately I'm doing all the Surv adepts now, hopefully I'll be able to do the same with Killer Adepts and get the babiest easiest Survs.

If you are blind, does the white item still show up? Is the item showing itself different than an aura? Someone asked me here at work and I actually have no idea lol
No clue, we'd have to test it.

Yeah solo queue is miserable lately and I am getting a lot of the killers I absolutely despise versing whereas they aren't even in 2v8
I am feeling another break from DBD coming on as I am starting to not have fun at all again
Taking a break is always healthy, I sat out most of 2v8 and am just now coming back for Bone Chill. No pressure to win whatsoever, I know I'll be rusty.

The Sacrificial Ward should have never been lowered. The Devs baby Killer Mains too much. They focus too much on making Killer good but Survivor gets left in a poor, unenjoyable role.
You… you do realize Survivors run Sac Wards as well, right? Like you realize the offering is not mutually exclusive? The us vs. them was completely unnecessary, this isn't "Devs babying Killer Mains", this is Devs realizing map offerings are overused by both sides to tilt the game heavily in their favor because map offerings on either side are that powerful.
It is unenjoyable for BOTH roles to be sent to maps that favor one side to the point it becomes a sweaty slog. This isn't just a Survivor issue, never was never will be. I do not want to be sent to Haddonfield as Survivor. I also do not want to be sent to Coldwind as Ghostface or Lery's as Huntress. It feels bad.
Anyway I am running Sac Wards both sides, to counter people who just want to use them to sweat all over some poor baby M1 Main with Eyrie or some group of new players who just wanted to have fun and learn. Again. Because I'm sick of people ruining the game for others with map offerings just because they think they have something to prove against the other side. It's sweaty, it's obnoxious, it's borderline griefing, and everyone in the community hates you a little bit more when you offer a map that heavily favors your side.
Shame on you. Shame on you for the us vs. them. I'm so sick of the division in this community and people insisting the Devs "baby" the side they don't play as much, the Devs do not baby or favor either friggin' side and they have said as much multiple times. Empathy, especially for the other side playing, is more than just a Claudette Morel perk.
-
Oh no! You mean you can LOSE the chance you just burned to go to a map that overly favors your side, ruining it for whatever poor sod or sods get matched with you? The horror! You lose an easily renewable offering you can get by blinking at the Bloodweb enough times!
We don't need map offering refunds. You shouldn't be able to stockpile a bunch of offerings that tilt maps in your favor; it's just one more thing the sweatiest Killers and SWFs like to abuse when they were intended to just be used to help with the map cheevos. They're dumb and IMHO need to be removed from the game entirely, or make it so you DON'T go to that map.
I am more than willing to lose the ability for me to play Ghostface of the Lery's or Jumpscare Midwich Myers if it means this obnoxious use of map offerings to sweat all over others by making the game favor your side goes away. Making this offering Common was the best thing they could have done without removing or altering map offerings entirely.
