There is no reason why Unbreakable isn't base kit, and I'm a Killer main!
I think ONE use of Unbreakable basekit would be fine, personally I don't like to slug that long anyway unless I have no choice. But if implemented it needs to be what Unbreakable is right now, and Unbreakable needs to do something else.

Lmao cheap game design because survivors don't like it? Maybe survivors need to find a way to counter the cheap game design? Because this cheap game design as you call it is clearly effective.
I wouldn't bother with that person Prometheus, they're heavily Survivor-sided in basically every take they post on these forums.
Gens could stand to be changed to something much more interesting, it's boring to sit on your only objective and pushing them super fast makes Killers feel they MUST pressure super hard or they don't get a round in some cases. It feels really bad for gens to pop so fast before you get even a few hooks. It also feels bad when it's your ONLY objective to just sit there. I'd almost rather tank my MMR for good and stay in the low end baby ranks with the casuals and newbies, because at least then they dare to try new things and I have a chance either side. Up in higher MMR it's literally "Meta and sweat or die/lose", and it's JUST not fun.
I 100% believe all the people complaining about how bad Surv is or how hard Killer is just are up in that sweat rank and are sad they don't get easy wins anymore.

The game is now killer sided up to the high end where it switches to surv sided, the thing is most survivors are low skill casuals so it is making solo queue particularly miserable at present.
I don't know if it is nerfs that make people stop playing but rather bigger game changes as a whole. I feel like BHVR has released unfun killer after unfun killer and there are too many perks and addons in the game now that suck the fun out of it.
I also feel that the prevalence of anti loop killers or killers that are just unfun to verse such as Chucky or Trickster have added to the misery of modern DBD. I spent thousands of hours learning to loop but that fun style of play is rendered obsolete by Knight etc and it takes away the fun part of the game for many of us.
Also mechanics like flashlights etc being made infinitely easier takes away skill expression for a lot of people and I know a lot of people who left the game due to unfun metas, unfun anti-loop killers and the dumbing down of the game play.
I definitely think the amount of antiloop Killers has ruined a lot of the fun of the game. It's way more fun to me to mindgame in chase with a Myers or a Skurchent (gasp!) or a Houndmaster or something than it is to just get hit over a pallet or vault by Xeno or Huntress.
Instead on introducing a bunch of antiloop Killers, BHVR should have fixed maps and nerfed the loops heavily from the start so we never NEEDED all these antiloop Killers.
I definitely think a lot of the skill as Survivor has been automated, particularly certain perks and stuff like Flashlights. it doesn't feel like you have to try, it doesn't feel risky. It just feels like if I put this thing in the right spot or do the right thing with the right perks, I get free second chances and easy wins, and if I don't do those things? Well, then I just get smacked around.
That's also why I disliked this version of 2v8 - it felt stripped down, too automated, and not as much fun as before.

I’m very curious as to why the weave attunement nerf was reverted?
Probably because the nerf was a little too much, making it kinda useless. It really only ever worked with Franklin's and it really only ever needed to just show a white aura of where the dropped item was; the actual perk itself was fine. It was not being able to counter with knowing where the item was that was problematic.
I definitely agree Thrill needs at least a partial reversion or some sort of nerf before Bone Chill. The way it is now isn't okay, but I don't think it needs to go back to where it was either - nobody used it when it was 10%. This is why I think 12% is the sweet spot, not too much nor too little. It's kinda like how MFT still gives the speed boost but you have a conditional on it, or like how they partial-basekitted some Killer addons.

I wouldn't worry too much about that because the game is nowhere close to being survivor sided at the moment, imho. For all the recent killer buffs to be undone completely it would take time, and a lot of changes.
I'm more concerned with the killers who are already set for changes. Skull Merchant was fine the way she was, this whole execution was unnecessary. And she'll get another rework, when we have a clear history of reworks that failed.
Freddy's rework is also approaching, and we know nothing about that, except for the extremely disappointing fact that it won't be a return to Old Freddy.Recent changes haven't been good, so I'm once again worried about my favorite killer.
I greatly appreciate your ancient Freddy main wisdom, friend. It really scares me when I also main an M1 Killer to see other Killers get the nerf hammer like this just because Survivors refuse to learn the counterplay.

Good idea, but idk if the Offering system is ready for 10 offerings.
But I'm ready for 10 offerings. :D
-
I don't care that much about a 4k. I'll usually only do it for Adepts or if you're REALLY that toxic.
-
Bad idea to remove something that creates a moment of lapsed pressure in a chase.
-
It should be non-permanent and not affect the queue times, I don't care what-sided it is.
Ideally, neither. Balanced.
-
My thought is again, they will go to 12% and just leave it.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
I don't think I've seen 100% for either side since 2v8. And I simply do not believe queues are suddenly nearly equally balanced unlike ever before. I think BHVR borked the system when they messed with it for 2v8.
On a tangential note relating to other conversations in this thread: my friend and I play together way more than we play solo, we usually escape or die together so our MMR should be damn near identical, we're not just on the same server but in the same room together, and we have different incentives. It's been that way since incentives were introduced. We are always baffled by it. Though, it is nice that when the incentive drops between matches we can de-couple and see if the other has a better bonus.
I think something about 2v8 forgot to be switched back on. Maybe the boosts were never switched back on?
-
I quite frankly no longer care what Survivor players want nor about being fair to them or giving them ANYTHING to make the game better for them whatosever. They're all routinely awful when I'M Survivor. 9/10 times my games are ruined by terrible Survivors, cocky Survivors, Survivors throwing the game on hook, Survivors leading Killers to me because they don't like my playstyle.
Survivor Mains are miserable people and I'm glad I'm not one of them, preferring a mix of both. None y'all are people I wanna hang out with, I'd rather 4stack every single round. It's to the point I actively dread playing with anyone less than a 3 stack, because I just know I will get either cocky high level Survs, or potatoes for randoms that don't try. And I am NOT going to take being abused in the endgame chat by another high and mighty Survivor Main SoloQ random telling me to and I quote, "delete the game, you Trash Nicolas; you're actual cancer, you're what's wrong with the game" against a tunnelling Chucky I had no chance against because I was going for the Nic Cage adept.
I'm GLAD the Survivor winrate is only 40% with people like these in my lobbies. Because the more I see of people like this in the Fog when I'm Surv, the more I want them to lose, lose, lose until they have no fun and are taken down several pegs.
-
You have perks for this, why not use them if you encounter this a lot?
-
I have ceased to care about anything Survivor Main Players want anymore. I have ceased to care about my random Survivor companions, too.
9/10 times, my SURVIVOR games are ruined by OTHER SURVIVORS. And I'm tired of pretending it's a Killer issue when it's not.

Make it possible to one-click block harassing trolls who keep following you around the forums so we don't need to go to our profiles each time. Please and thanks. :)

Frankly I don't want to have to make a game my job in order to simply not get my teeth kicked in with the Killers I enjoy playing.

So is TCM, Evil Dead, so was Evolve, so was Death Garden. What’s your point? DBD is a game pitting people against people, not people against AI.
They’ll change it & I’ll never let it go.
I highly doubt it's going back to 50/50 because the Devs have SAID they don't want 50/50.
It won't change, I'm sorry.
-
I think the only issue with gens right now are certain toolboxes (toolboxes need a pass like medkits had) and the base genkick still being a bit weak.
-
@Saiph said:
Unfortunately, I think you're right and the reality is just that half of the perks in the game are not very well designed.
But the perks in question are mostly not meta, so I wouldn't say it is that huge of a deal. They are frustrating to deal with and offer little counterplay once they are set up, but the set up often requires the player to soft-throw the game. For example, Flip Flop even when uncounterable, still involves 2-3 survivors not doing gens and giving health states for free, even if you can't hook them.
If DBD was my game, I would remove half the perks in the game, no joke. But this is obviously not something that BHVR can do, so for the time being, I agree that it's an issue, but not an important one. The best we can hope for is for BHVR to realize there are some types of perks like Coup or Boil Over which are just not healthy for the game without necessarily being strong.
I think the issue is the opposite: Most perks are completely fine, it's just a handful of meta perks that blow all the others out of the water so hard, there's no point in using the others.

Consider Thrilling + Grim Embrace.

You have to remember that it's a game, it is not intended to be reflective of real-life.
It's supposed to be fun for both sides.
I dunno I think it's fine right now. Both sides. I just think BHVR has made decisions that have led Killers to play in an unfun way more often. Unlike a lot of people I don't need to win to have fun.
-
Since a bunch of people here think I'm JUST a Killer Main and my opinions don't matter…

Eh.
The game was Survivor-sided from 2016-2019.
It was pretty even from late 2019-2022.
Post-2022 has been very Killer-sided.
I think, having played in all three versions?
I would rather the horror themed game be balanced to Killer-sided. It feels weird if the Game has a Survivor sided bias, like it's scooby-doo, not a horror experience.
-
I'm doing just fine in 1v4. 2v8 for the sake of queue health needs to be non-permanent.
-
The game is definitely not Survivor-sided, nor is it intended to be. It's Horror themed after all.

Am I approved to have an opinion now, great arbiter?

On the match result screen, THE GAME tells you that bleeding out is not a kill, not me. You should learn to read and understand what the game is actually telling you instead of making up your own bullshit. Don't forget, you aren't really a killer, you are a video game player, and that video game has rules to win like any normal game does.
This is true, which is why I hate bleeding people out. I'd rather just hook.
Sometimes, Survivors don't want me to do that and force me to leave them down for a little bit, then prematurely assume I am slugging and DC.
-
You are now harassing me, following me all across these forums just to reply and call me a Killer Main. I currently play 70/30 Surv to Killer as I'm going for adepts. If anyone's biased, and weirdly obsessed with me, it's you, deBecker.
Stop. I will not ask again.
-
Only way I'd ever play it again tbh, that and adding Killers I actually give a crap about playing.
-
I think something is broken with pallets right now, they sometimes vacuum you to them, and sometimes stun from forever away, and sometimes don't stun at all. The hitboxes need tightening, it's unacceptable that a Killer can be stunned from a meter away by ANYTHING and also unacceptable that the game won't let you drop a pallet when you need to. They feel like a gamble and not in the fun way, on both sides.
There's also still too many on some maps, and not nearly enough on others. Gideon is a nightmare for M1s, but Rotten Fields is a deadzone.
-
The three big issues DBD has:
- Too many perks that do nothing, both sides.
- Generator control is too weak on Killer side and too strong on Survivor side.
- The way you control things like tunnelling is perks, and those are just bandaid fixes.
- Competitive design trying to be casual.
-
And the true colors come out, this old chestnut of "oh you're just a Killer Main".
Brother I play 70% Survivor, I just happen to PREFER Killer when I have the time. Here is my Dead By Stats Link:
https://deadbystats.eu/profile/actuallynyarlathotep
Please try again and stop assuming.
-
Defeat? This isn't a battle, it's a conversation. There was no defeating anything.
You're so weirdly competitive for no reason… and so anti-Killer player for no reason either. Try playing the other side sometime, enough to get good Survs. It will give you much needed perspective.
I'll continue to hope you grow and improve rather than argue on a message board. But please never message me again. You're absolutely stubborn. Thank Entity for the Ignore list. :)
EDIT: Before you assume, here's my Dead by Stats… showing I play a lot more Survivor, so if your argument is about to be that I'm a Killer Main, you're wrong:
-
I NEED a Ghostface Blood Moon cosmetic that feels very Assassin's creed and has a literal red right hand.
-
Gens are 90 seconds and Survivors have several tools now to speed them up more. Simply, there are four of them and one Killer.
The perks are not the issue, nor are the teamwork boosts. The issue with gen speeds comes from toolboxes, usually.
I am of the opinion that ALL gen control on both sides, Killer or Surv, should be capped at 20%. No more. Baseline and then 20% MAX. More is insane.
-
The teammates I get as randoms are worse than ever these days for real. Killers I get and Survivors I face are all over the map. It's certainly broken right now. I wonder, did they totally turn it off and forget to turn it back on?
-
If you can't read the clear english I've put my responses in then that's really a you problem.

A 60/40 winrate split is, by definition, imbalanced. That's literally what 'imbalanced' means, my guy.
I'm not going to keep arguing this, it's clear from every response you give to anything here, you just want busted Survivor perks back and a 60% escape rate.
I stated this elsewhere too, but I've probably put forth more killer buff suggestions than most folks here.
I just have the gall to tell killers 'no' sometimes.
Nah, you're a Survivor Main I reckon. I don't take the opinions of one-side-only mains like you seriously, nobody should, thank goodness you don't balance the game.
If I'm wrong, correct me: How much do you play Killer, and who do you play when you do? Is it anyone below an A tier?
-
Because some people only want to play if they can abuse and use their uberstrong meta perks, they don't want to play if they can't crutch on a strong build. This applies to both sides.
-
When all the so-called "cheap tactics" are gone, and enough Survivors win and get hardstuck up with the super uber strong Killers and can't play against anyone else, then you will all realize how necessary these unfun tactics were.
And that's the Devs' fault for designing the game that way. NOT the players' fault for playing like that.

Theming and fairness are two separate things. Killers can handle a knock.
60/40 is fair because this is an assym gane. The 1 must be stronger than the four or it's imbalanced.
I'm not going to keep arguing this, it's clear from every response you give to anything here, you just want busted Survivor perks back and a 60% escape rate.

Mostly agree with this.
I already made a nerf suggestion for StB removing the ability to stack it on the same person multiple times. It's in the post.
As for the new Invocation, I don't think they should stack too, especially if they will get less severe downsides. I would make it so it only makes you Oblivious, though, as if it made you Blind too, you would get zero value out of it. That would guarantee that it would become a SWF only perk.
Oblivious might be a better idea, or rather maybe it makes the Killer always Undetectable for you as a downside?
-
@Mandy said:
There's no current plan to change Shoulder of Burden, it was adjusted from the PTB - Live, and it is something that will be monitored on our side, if we see it behaving problematically then it's of course something that we can change, for right now we're happy with how it's performing.
Then at least show Killers hookstages, and create some perks that help against this perk. Or better yet, finally nerf toolboxes so gen speeds are consistent so Killers like Ghostface can play around this perk.

It would be fair if the kill rate wasn’t 60%.
This is a horror themed game, why should the kill rate be any lower in a game where Killers are meant to be threatening?
The Devs aren't changing it. Time to let it go.

I mean clowns gas bothers me along with mending acreen as someone who has bad eye sight even with a screen guard and glasses and plague vomiting affects a friend of mine with eating disorders.
Tru3talent mention that bill and bubba saw affects him with ( forgot what it called that he has) which makes his ears go ring ring. So its not just killer mains that can suffer sensory things from the game, survivors also have it too and indirectly being griefed by the examples I gave because I do not condone dcing so am force to suffer mend or clown gas sensory effects.
They removed the issue with Clown.
They 100% haven't with blindness.

To be fair, my friend, the Skull Merchant didn't need nerfs either.
I deeply worry that the Killer buffs we've had could be undone by Survivor perk buffs needlessly going crazy in the future. :(
-
Pressure isn't tunnelling, IDK what to tell you. The Devs have all but said some tunnelling, camping, and slugging pre pressure is intended tactic, NOT losing the game, by not removing it outright. It has counterplay. The worst offenses of it are outright detrimental now. Returning to hooks is not only intentional but necessary sometimes, you simply do not get wins much of the time if you spread hooks evenly 100%, and that's if Survivors don't give you opportunities to do otherwise through dumb plays. I don't know what more proof you need before you admit it's just a part of the game.

I main killer but almost never tunnel. At this point, every survivor just assumes every killer tunnels in a match…
And half of them think that not tunnelling is actually tunnelling, if someone is out early they will call that tunnelling.
-
This doesn't work because, as someone else so inelegantly decided to insultingly put it, it's inherently unfair to punish the other side for playing well and pulling ahead.
This should never come to live in this state. It works for semicasual arcade 2v8 mode. It wouldn't work in 1v4.
And no, smart alecks, Killers tunnelling isn't the reason why.
-
There won't be any Killers that need it after this.
