Yea but literally last night, before the update, I chased a Survivor up the top of Gallows and mindgamed them into vaulting straight into me.

It could be bugged where it doesnt consistently spawn or something, but it definitely isnt always not there. Kind of like that one PTB that had bugged windows where they either never spawned or always spawned on Yamaoka Estate.

I think we may be talking about something different, considering what I'm referring to is the first part of this clip:

    https://youtu.be/fVTmVDkUJRg

Idk how you could trick a Survivor into vaulting into you up there lol

Not really, before the Update I got sent to Dead Dawg a few times and it was there, unless this is some Mandela Effect stuff.

No, I know this since I used to do a lot of sky billy stuff. The gallows had 2 spots and they were both patched roughly around the time Sadako or Dredge came out I believe. And I specifically remember trying to go for it after Wesker came out since bugs like that some times revert themselves (Space Billy being one of those bugs) and was pretty disappointed when I learned I couldn't even get on the railing anymore.

  • Its been gone for quite some time actually

I don't remember exactly how long, but I know its been a few months

  • There's a big chance we're going to be getting another Silent Hill chapter since I believe a new game is being worked on by BHVR

  • They know that, they just want the option to have the old system

And to answer their question, its most likely never coming back

  • So what I'm assuming happened is shortly before the clip begins you were unhooked and got hit while you still had Endurance. Any instance where you get hit while you have Endurance (except when using Mettle of Man) you are put into the Deep Wounds state. Its exactly as if you were hit by Legion while they're in Feral Frenzy, or get shot and hit/break Deathslinger's chain. You need to stand still and Mend yourself which takes 12 seconds. The Deep Wound's timer pauses when ever you are Mending, being Mended by some one else, or running.

    Hope this helps!

  • First, no it doesnt stop you from reporting them. Doing an in game report and then sending a ticket with your player ID works just fine

Second, not_Queen isnt Community Manager anymore, and hasnt been for quite some time now

Solo queue got the biggest buff? how? Because we can see what other people are doing. I'm sorry but that's hardly a buff.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3326177#Comment_3326177

Nurse was nerfed? What because you can't franklins off an ability? Or because you can't 7 blink?

That's hardly a nerf. Knight was buffed out the ass too.

She doesnt have synergy with nearly as many perks, so yes thats a nerf. Her strongest add ons were also gutted, becoming more gimmicky if anything.

Did she deserve the nerf? Yes. Is it enough? No. In fact the way the Nurse is currently is pretty damn unhealthy for the game and imo she needs a complete Freddy/Doctor style rework.

Also just because one patch favors one side a bit more than the other, doesnt mean the devs favor that side.

I am a newbie to the game, I have no idea what wiggle means is it fun?

Wiggling is when a Survivor is struggling to get off a killers shoulder. Today they changed it a bit

  • Its killer based because they changes wiggling... but were going to ignore the pretty big Solo Q buff and Nurse nerfs because that fits your narrative right?

    yeah ok

Highly doubt that. Would love to see proof of that. Killers kill and move on, we don’t care about insulting you after game.

Oh trust me, they exist. As much as Survivors? Of course not. Because as a killer you have 4 different people who have the chance at being upset, and as Survivor you only got 1 person.

  • I know it's very unlikely something like this would be implemented properly, but it would be so nice

Not really, I personally have seen so many people call certain killers very good in chase, when it is due to survivor mistakes, I quite literally main slinger and if people ask me, he is not that good in chase, however he punishes survivor mistakes quickly, I literally facepalm when I get snipes or shots through little holes, since they are easy to avoid as survivor, when I get those downs I literally think "this down was not because of my skill but the lack of skill from the survivor", yet many people consider slinger to be a powerhousr on chase, now its true that only few people are actually good, but that doesn't mean his power and many other "incredibly good" chase powers are as good as people say

Im gonna have to disagree on that one chief. Sure he aint the best killer out there but his 1v1 is definitely up there when comparing to other killers. The main problem with Slinger is the time it takes to get that down. Slingers shot is unreactable but only up to a certain distance, going for shots at long distance is usually not very appealing because of this because youre taking a risk. Not only does it take time to reload his gun but hes also 110%, making him take longer to catch up.

Him being able to shoot through little cracks in the walls is a way to express your skill and experience as Slinger, but yes it usually only works because of Survivors not paying attention/not expecting it. Kind of like Curve Billy

What does that even have to do with aura reading? Aura reading is bad because it lets the Nurse bypass her supposed counterplay of hiding, but because Killers who can't cross the map quickly are good in chase they should be expected to spend all their gameplay time looking around every bit of scenery hoping someone gets spooked too? Nobody in the entire roster should have a way to narrow down where they need to go next aside from the occasional noise notification? Because low map traversal and high map traversal covers everyone.

Also dont act as if only killer perks are the only ones being complained about.

But Killer perks are the ones that fall into basically three categories: info, chase, and slowdown.

I don't think anyone's about to start complaining about Survivors running weird categories like item finding.

Quite honestly my first few replies here I was tired af and I must of thought I was in the past where the meta was shifiting more towards killers with better anti loop. No idea where the hell I was trying to go for there but the thing with Nurse still applies

As for the 2nd thing, there is pretty much a post made about DH almost every day, and Prove Thyself pops up every now and then

Nurse isn't the only Killer in the game, and is already one of those where there's the least time to hide before she shows up. You know, everyone with low map traversal ability also exists.

Honestly, we're just missing a thread on chase perks and we'll have gone through, essentially, "Killers shouldn't run any perks at all".

And wanna know what all those killers with low map traversal have in common? A strong ability in chase. A killer shouldnt be able to excel in several areas, all that does is limit counterplay.

Also dont act as if only killer perks are the only ones being complained about.

  • They should be coming this upcoming Tuesday

  • @RainehDaze said:

I'm curious what else you expect Killers to use to find stealthy, uninjured Survivors given that their every movement is pretty much announced with noises and bright lights. Do you expect a minute spent looking around every random bit of wall near a generator every time?

Considering against a killer like Nurse where people expect to "just break LoS" or "just double back". Yes.

No reason why a killer who has the best chase ability in the game and one of the best tools for mobility can have her downside almost completed negated

  • I remember thinking hook states would only progress further if I didnt heal and then get downed/hooked again. So Id try to jump off the hook every time, and think to myself (oh no worries! I have a medkit!)

  • to finish it off you might as well join the Canadian Legion

"Slightly more likely to be misplayed than other Exhaustion perks" still doesn't deserve the label 'high risk'. No Mither is high risk (and very stupid), and DH can be used to enable ridiculously greedy behaviour even more (which is high risk). But pretending that DH is high risk really exaggerates it.

Yes it is, considering with the other exhaustions youre almost guaranteed to get value from them with good positioning.

DH either gets high value, or no value. Aint no in between

  • This is more gimmicky than anything. Not very practical since multiple people need to be in on it and even then its very situational

  • @RainehDaze said:

Keep in mind you can chain an OTR into a Dead Hard into a DS.

Wrong order, there. OTR, DS, DH.

(Also I will argue until my fingers drop off that DH isn't high risk; you don't put anything extra on the line to use the thing)

Usually every build has an Exhaustion perk, and when compared to all the other Exhaustion perks its absolutely high risk/high reward

  • Thanks!

kind of banking on the situation being that the DH is used before reaching the pallet, rather than the choice being 'swing at distance, they DH and can get away' or 'try to get close, get pallet dropped' which was what I was referring to. Not 'preemptively using DH because I'm in non-lunge swing distance and there's a pallet'.

... also not even the situation I was asking about???

I mean the only time you can't just bait it is at a pallet, so yes I'm going to be "banking" on that considering its the only situation where its applicable

  • @Bot_Salvo88 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3323048#Comment_3323048

It is a lose lose situation. If you swing they dead hard. If you don't swing because you're waiting you eat a pallet.

If a survivor sees that you're waiting and he has dead hard, he can drop the pallet and still have dead hard for later.

I mean, whats stopping them from just throwing the pallet? If you can only get to them doing a full lunge then them just throwing the pallet beats both options you have.

If you're closer how ever then its a read since they can't throw down the pallet during the animation which is a bit longer than how long Endurance lasts, meaning if you wait just a bit you can still get a swing. The timing is pretty tight and hard to get consistently but still very much possible.

  • Dealing with DH at a pallet is not a lose-lose situation since they can't throw the pallet for the duration of the animation. It is a bit of a tight window but if you do the right read then you should still be able to get yourself a hit

It’s way more chill and brain dead to play any other killer. Forcing pallets drops, dead zone, and 3gen is way easier.

Yes, nurse is more deadly the start of the game, but she cannot remove survivor defenses for good. So you have to stay focus at all times.

Maybe when learning her, but after a while its just basically all muscle memory

  • @wydyadoit said:

she's never going to be D tier, but i like your humor.

you likely know as well as anyone that nurse is too player skill reliant to ever be terrible. most of her kit is based on predicting movement and getting lucky with surprise attacks. in a straight up chase you're at a disadvantage without a speed build. and speed builds counter blink builds. so really 🤷🏻‍♂️

it's like playing meyers and never using stalk because you really really want that undetectable ability.

I'm sorry, but the only thing you got right here is Nurse is "skill reliant"

While yes she does take skill (and Survivors also need to learn how to verse her specifically) she doesn't take nearly as much as some like to make it out to be. She's actually pretty simple, and putting in a few hours to learn the timings and distances is all it takes

Predicting movement is actually a pretty common misconception by some who haven't played her much, or is newer to the game. I would agree with you if she only had 1 blink, but since she has 2 its a different story. You use your first blink to every single opening or possible path that a Survivor can take, and then use your 2nd blink (if you have to) to react to where the Survivor went. The only time this isn't really applicable, are in maps with LOTS of LoS blockers. The ability to do so makes her the best chaser in the game, and without a doubt the best killer in the game since she can use this tool to traverse the map relatively quickly.

  • yeah, the actual event only starts on the 24th

    so no envelopes till then

  • Flashlights are actually pretty easy to deal with.

The main counter to them is to simply look at a wall while picking a Survivor up, which doesnt allow them to get an angle to blind you. If this isnt the case and the downed Survivor is out in the open, listen for any huffs and puffs or look for scratchmarks that are made from a different Survivor than the one you just downed. This way you can scare them off, potentially even get a hit if theyre in a bad position, and then do a 180 turn to face the opposite direction of where they came from and pick up the Survivor safely. Make sure the Survivor isnt following you tho, as they might have enough time to run in front of you to get a save.

  • My prediction is that the killers title name is gonna start with "The"

  • Cross-Progression between PC and Console is sadly not a thing yet

  • After this post, Nurse will surely plummet down to D tier

I do not doubt pulsar at all, but if you are good/decent comp team, there is at least a minimun I would expect, and that minimum is dunking on every m1 killer, if you are in a 4 man swf, know how to do good comms, know how the game works and have good perks, there is no excuse that you let a sadako get more than 4 hooks, you might have played in tournaments but you are not a good team.

Not if said M1 killer (the player) is of equal caliber. I also highly doubt a comp team would be giving it their all in a pub match

dead hard takes away the ONE killers objective. Eruption hits a couple survivors maybe. But I VERY rarely see it stop every survivor from doing the objective. Plus the killer has to kick multiple gens, then injure twice in chase, and still hope someone is even on the gen that got kicked. Eruption requires a huge amount of time invested from the killer (hence the complaints about it making the game drag on too long), killer has to track all the survivors plus the gens and juggle that information, and even then after that skill is used (assuming they even WIN the chase quick enough before gens pop) the survivors can still just you know- let go of the stupid gen. Especially with tracking perks/swf comms to let them know how the chase is going.

    Deadhard=press one button

every survivor who complains about eruption point blank is bad at the game and complaining because they want a bully simulator. You people just want to make the killer players all quit so you can laugh then when the game is dead you'll go do it somewhere else.

Get better at looping so you don't go down. Make some friends for comms. My team faced a ton of killers with eruption AND pain res/deadmans switch several days in a row. Not a single game did we lose to those perks because we just called out when to let go of the gen to avoid the incapacitation/gen block from the down/hook for eruption/deadmans.

How about we discuss you survivor players with toolboxes and provethyself finishing 2-3 gens before 1-2 hooks even if the chases end almost immediately. Even FINDING someone and downing them INSTANTLY means nothing at high mmr when gens pop barely a minute into the match. Yet you people find that fair somehow.

"oh no we are running mega meta perks and so is the killer now we dont get an easy bully win"

you are literally the problem with the game. Both sides need to calm down and just get better. SO sick of playing both sides even if I mainly play killer, and seeing issues on both sides. and hearing you people just destroying the community. You survivors don't play the other side to understand it. You don't know the math behind any of the game play or mechanics. It's just crying because you refuse to learn to play around something.

Did you know eruption wont proc if you just let go ? Did you know you can do a different gen that hasn't been kicked yet? Did you know you can just loop well enough that gens pop before eruption has a chance to proc?

We did FOUR gens in my last match where a doctor was running deadmans, painres, and eruption. FOUR gens before he got me. He chased me for THREE of those gens. Man ate a lot of pallets. Chased my teammate for the other two. We had another match where the killer had two hooks all game. Felt like we were bullying him so I tried to let him kill me in end game but this trickester has honor and had us leave.

Just. Get. Better. Survivor is so much easier and less stressful than killer. idc if I win the majority of my matches on both sides. I get to laugh and do silly plays as survivor. You goof off one moment in a high mmr killer game and make one mistake and you lose. I can hit a survivor and they get away and heal and i've lost ALL that progress. Survivors can finish a gen and nothing removes that progress. Survivors can hide and heal and infinite number of times

you want eruption nerfed? Fine. Survivors need a limit of two heals per match. You get injured a third time thats just too bad.

yknow I never understood this. Just because some one doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean they're a one trick Survivor main. In fact you've got it the wrong way. I was a Survivor main up until 2018/2019 where I basically switched to playing killer the majority of the time. Now that one of your main points of me being an evil survivor main falls down the shitter, lets dissect this shall we?

So your main arguments for countering Eruption: Play in a SWF, use tracking perks... how original! And completely and utterly false! Sure SWF does help counter Eruption but not everyone plays in a SWF. As for tracking perks, none of them are consistent. You can't tell when some one is about to go down with their aura alone. The only time is if you can see both the Survivor being chased and the killer, and then you need to have really fast reaction times to react to a killers lunge or power. And if they don't do either or if you don't see them you're ######### out of luck. Compare this to Dead Hard where once you see a Survivor use it once, its only your fault if you get hit by it multiple times by the same person. The only time where its actually unfair is if the Survivor is running at a pallet, and even then its a 50/50. Since the Survivor can't do any actions for the duration of the animation. And even if you do get hit by it, you can still find some one else and pressure them knowing that the Survivor you just chased will at least waste time mending.

"How about we discuss you survivor players with toolboxes and provethyself finishing 2-3 gens before 1-2 hooks even if the chases end almost immediately. Even FINDING someone and downing them INSTANTLY means nothing at high mmr when gens pop barely a minute into the match. Yet you people find that fair somehow."

Toolboxes could use a nerf, in some instances they can be pretty busted. Prove Thyself on the other hand is as much of a trap for killers thinking that its an OP perk as new Survivor players thinking Self Care is godlike. Survivors are much better off splitting up on gens, especially in the early game. Its only good in one instance, and thats endgame. 2 Survivors sitting on a gen from start to finish takes roughly 52 seconds, Prove Thyself brings that down to 45 seconds. Do what you want with that information.

"Did you know eruption wont proc if you just let go ? Did you know you can do a different gen that hasn't been kicked yet? Did you know you can just loop well enough that gens pop before eruption has a chance to proc?"

How do I let go if I don't know some ones about to go down? Running to a different gen might as well waste just as much time as eating the Eruption, considering one pop of Eruption alone prevents 41.25% of progression. Also looping and wasting time will only get some one so far. We both know you can't just run some one infinitely unless the killer is brand new or is just bad.

"We did FOUR gens in my last match where a doctor was running deadmans, painres, and eruption. FOUR gens before he got me. He chased me for THREE of those gens. Man ate a lot of pallets. Chased my teammate for the other two." Cool, you won against an inexperienced Doctor using those perks, (incorrectly mind you, considering he was over committing) want a medal?

"Just. Get. Better. Survivor is so much easier and less stressful than killer. idc if I win the majority of my matches on both sides. I get to laugh and do silly plays as survivor. You goof off one moment in a high mmr killer game and make one mistake and you lose. Survivor mistake I run away and heal heehee no big deal. Make a mistake as killer and lose all that time and a gen pops and you lose."

Yeah, you can do silly plays and goof of, because you're playing in a SWF which obviously releases a lot of tension. When ever I play in a SWF, we don't care about the outcome of a match because were too busy doing stupid #########. Also you mentioning "high mmr killer games" really just sells this whole thing and explains everything about what you just wrote. High MMR might as well not even exist, it has just as much credibility as saying you were red ranks.

But hey, what do I know? I'm just some evil survivor main wanting to bully the killer all day every day 24/7!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!

then you are fine with eruption and dead hard working in that way despite you complain about eruption (you cannot complain about a perk that waste a lot of time for only one side: if both have those options, both needed to be looked at, otherwise you'll end being biased toward a specific side)...

If Im biased towards any side its killer considering thats where the majority of my hours are poured into.

Dead Hard I think is fine, since it has trade offs and is high risk high reward. Eruption on the other hand is no risk high reward

  • @bunnyfengenthusiast said:

In either case, dropping chase means the killer wasted time. OTR gives you an extra health state and DS refreshes the mend, so you can DH immediately.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3320557#Comment_3320557

And the counter to not hitting a DH and extending a chase by 2 hours is... don't swing. Wait it out, watch them spin at you 6 times in a row wondering if this is the time they press E. Better yet, give up 10 chances for an easy m1 and let them get to a pallet to force a 50/50.

So, you have to bring 3/4 perks.. 2 of which wont do anything if the killer doesnt tunnel..

    k

i propose a fair trade: you get eruption nuked (or reworked) and 2 the general buffs that killer got gone for good (basekit BS and the 2 free stacks of STBFL), but in exchange you get dead hard and off the record completely reworked (not nerfed, REWORKED) and basekit BT gone (as far as i know, that was an extremely stupid change because now people are doing saves with the killer still near... they should be punished for the unsafe unhook, not rewarded for a bad play)

there is not a single good suggestion in here

  • Its actually pretty simple, people just love to fearmonger

  • @bunnyfengenthusiast said:

If a killer drops chase on someone who used their DH and the DH player is mending, the player isn't "wasting time" by any means. In fact, he's just managed to escape a chase without giving the killer a hook state, and the killer had to waste as much time as they did chasing then hitting through DH. In what scenario is going doing and getting hooked superior to having to mend because killer drops chase?

Eruption does NOT give 41.25% of regression, you got those numbers wilding out there. You're confounding slowdown with regression (which Eruption provides both). DH also synchronizes well with Off the Record+DS, and is one of 16 perks, as opposed to one of 4.

Both DH and Eruption are incredibly problematic in the current meta. Trying to make a special exception for one but not the other is hypocrisy.

Its better than dropping chase and them not using their DH, because then they still potentially have it and can immediately hop on a gen

No, it doesn't give 41.25% of regression, it gives 16.25%. That part of the post I worded wrong. What it does do how ever is get rid of 41.25% of potential generator progress.

Also how does OtR work well with DH? Decisive Strike I can see, but OtR?

  • This tells me everything I needed to know

    Thank you

  • @bunnyfengenthusiast said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3320483#Comment_3320483

Eruption and DH are both problematic for the same reason: they act as deterrent from both sides to use their basic abilities to win. Killers are deterred from using power/lunges, survivors are deterred from working on gens.

While thats true one of them at least has trade offs

With Dead Hard, you can't run any other Exhaustion perks with it, and it doesn't even have a guaranteed to work. You also can't use anything else that gives Endurance, such as Off the Record or BT disables it making you better off running something else. In a situation where the killer lets you go you also have to Mend afterwards, which wastes time.

Eruption on the other hand synergizes VERY well with other regression perks. 41.25% of regression off one pop of Eruption alone, and it only has a 30 second cooldown. Which when combined with something like CoB (which was already mentioned) or Pain Res you're amping up that regression even more.

In terms of balance, Dead Hard is more than fine. In terms of how it feels how ever is a different story. I want to see all meta perks nerfed in some way, and underused perks buffed. Something like every midchapter the 5 most used perks nerfed, and the 5 most underused perks buffed. Just so we can see some variety

    Yeah. He's running.

Please tell me the options with Eruption, other than "play in a SWF"

Yeah, 25 seconds of being able to do LITERALLY nothing. Imagine if as killer Dead Hard stunned you for like 10 seconds with literally no warning and nothing you could do about it.

At least with Dead Hard you can bait it out, possibly let go of the Survivor afterwards which will make them have to mend which wastes time, and once you get hit by it you know its not going to happen again if you decide to keep going for them.

With Eruption you have 0 indication (unless its a killer like Oni, and even then its only when he's in Blood Fury) that its coming. I'd be fine with it even blocking the gen for 25 seconds but no, it gives Incapacitated which lets you do literally nothing other than run. They also shadow buffed it recently, so that while you're working on it and Eruption goes off it will now actually regress the gen further.

So you're not dealing with just a 10% regression and 25 seconds of wasted time, but also an additional 6.25% because of the added regression (this doesn't even take into account if the killer has Call of Brine, and in that cases its an additional 12.50%). In total thats 41.25% (or 47.50%) of a generator that could of been completed, but the killer simply kicked the gen and got a single down. And they can do this all over since the perk has a measly 30 second cooldown

But yeah, Eruption and Dead Hard. TOTALLY similar
