That would be odd indeed but op said, Wesker damaged them. They didn't say anything about him grabbing them. So I'm not sure.
Even then, he shouldnt be damaged from getting hit right off the hook. He shouldve taken the hit and go into Deep Wounds but I dont believe thats what happened here, I think he just went down
-
@Xernoton said:
This is normal though. You come off the hook injured and when you are hit again, then your endurance takes the hit and leaves you deep wounded. If you get hit again or don't mend, then you go down. This happens with any attack, no just Wesker's.
I think they mean they got immediately grabbed even with Endurance in effect. Normally he'd just give em a lil slap
-
its really not that easy considering just how many things would have to be taken into consideration.
They would have to look at every single perk, add ons, killers, etc. and go through all of them to see how they interact with each other. They would then have to revisit the thousands of lines of code every time a new chapter releases and how they interact with the already existing content. The game would then have to constantly run this code to do checks and make sure everything is in order, which would have a very big impact on performance.

isnt there that method where you rapidly swap cosmetics and it causes others to crash?
I remember flashlights being able to crash games way back, but switching cosmetics I dont think is a thing? Besides its in the middle of a game, cant switch cosmetics there.
-
Just because you do your best doesn't mean youre going to win every game, you arent meant to.
Also it makes me wonder why you blocked off your own build, if you yourself a running a meta build (which Im assuming you are) this game was more than likely a bit more even in terms of a loadout considering they sent you to MacMillan, and with how many variations there are now its a better chance you got sent to one of the better ones. (Suffo Pit 1 and Groaning 1 are still pretty rough, but still manageable)
-
cheaters normally crash the server, not your game
99% sure this is just a coincidinky

For every one bad experience I have with EGC (which tbh most of them are funny af) I have like 20 good ones of people who are good sports and who are also very chill. Wish console players would have access to it since it really isnt as bad as people make it out to be, and for those voting for it to be removed from PC, come on man let us have our fun. You have always had the option to turn it off.

Trapper has to have at least one Iridescent add-on for me to play him. He’s too weak when there’s no drawback to Survivors disarming his traps.
Myers has to have the Scratched Mirror add-on for me to have a good time. No other Killer+Add-on gives me as much fun. Tombstone is for when I am stupid and play during prime time and get sweaty teams back to back.
For Trapper, try using Fastening Tools and Coffee Grounds. You dont even need to place the trap at a pallet/window mid chase, just position yourself to zone a Survivor and commit to the trap placement. If they try to run to the next loop you can quickly cut them off thanks to coffee grounds, and now you have a trap there to potentially catch some one else who tries to use that loop.
If they try to stay at the loop well the same thing happens, they now have to go around the trap and youre moving at mach speed which makes it so the majority of the time youre able to get the hit.

Is this a bait? I mean, look at your headline. BW is definitely not the best perk in the game. This perk just has too much counterplay and can be countered 99% of the time (Exitgate, which has been around for years, is boring and annoying) .... the likelihood of anything interesting happening is so low that it's not worth grabbing this perk anymore. Unless it gets reworked.
OP should of added subway surfer next to the small wall of text as to why he perceives it as the best perk.

There are 3 killers I believe that need reworks, just to make them make more sense in terms of who they are.
Merchant needs a rework that plays more into the "Apex Predator" kind of style. She should be more of a stealth killer, utilizing her drones for reconnaissance but to also amplifly her stealth. What I had in mind is giving her a "Hunter Stance" which effectively works as a crouch, but more like Pig instead of Ghost Face. From this stance she'd be able to leap forward to deal 1 health state of damage. Her drones would also be stealthier and can be remotely controlled. Looking at a Survivor builds up lock on similarly to Ghost Face or Myers stalk. When a Survivor is fully locked on they are revealed on her radar, and a successful leap instantly puts Survivors into the dying state. Disabling a drone removes it from her inventory for some time, but gives the Survivor a claw trap which reveals them on her radar, and they cant disable any drones before the claw trap is taken off. A claw trap is automatically removed after some time.
Freddy definitely needs to be like his old self but his power should be amplified the more Survivors fear him, and the Dream World should be something to fear. Survivors will have 3 states: Awake, Micro-sleep, Asleep. Survivors passively enter Micro-sleep, but are immediately put into it if hit. A Survivor who suffers from Micro-sleep can be pulled into the Dream World, leaving their body behind in the real world. (similar to the Haunted by Daylight event, but a husk of the Survivor is left behind). In the Dream World Survivor perks are disabled, Freddy's abilities in the Dream World, are Dream Snares and Dream Doorways. A snare will latch onto a Survivor if stepped on, making them bound to the area for a short time and limiting their movement. A Doorway allows the Nightmare to walk through it and pass through the wall its placed at. The more Survivors suffer from Sleepiness, as well how many hook states Survivors have, the more Doorways and Snares there are in the Dream World. A Survivor will automatically exit the Dream World after a while, a fellow Survivor can pull them out early by waking them up, or the Survivor can find an Alarm Clock to exit the Dream World. Failing skill checks will put a Survivor into the "Awake" state, as well as using an Alarm Clock. Survivors who are put into the Dying State while in the Dream World on their last hook state can be killed by Freddys own hand.
Myers I feel like he could be more in line with the rest of the cast since he's pretty outdatted, and he should have some his of frustrating aspects looked at. First we'll start with tier 1, but were gonna rename it to "Stalker" for now. for now. He should be given a normal lunge just to make him a little more useful while in this mode, since he's gonna be spending a bit more time in it. After stalking for long enough, he'll have the option to go into Tier 2, or "Standard Mode" or Tier 2. This remains the exact same as before, but his ability to stalk is removed. This is now replaced with being able to go back into Stalker mode after some time. Once again, after he's reached enough stalk and in he's in Standard Mode, he can then go into Tier 3, or "Unstoppable Mode". While in this mode his action speeds are increased by 10% (with vaulting remaining at 30%), and he is given a new ability: "Killer's Intuition" where he may reveal any Survivor within a short range of him with Killer Instinct. Additionally if he gets his hands on a Survivor on their final hook state, he may kill them by his own hand. Unstoppable mode has a duration of 80 seconds, after which he is automatically brought back to Standard. To be able to keep track of things as Survivor the current sounds of Myers for tiering up/down remain the same, with the addition of returning back to Stalker mode (unused tier up tune), as well as a "Killer's Intuition" reveal (old tier up imminent).

Dredge's Masquerade outfit is just way too good, no reason why they went so hard with it
Honerable mentions though are ALL the Blighted skins. I absolutely love the exaggerated versions of each killer and The Hallowed Blight has always had a special place in my heart.

and i agree almost 100% with you
but:
Overwatch have a hidden MMR for casual and arcade matches, you can´t see it but they´re there, you queue with people from your level, a bit lower or a bit higher, and this is literally the same thing we have on dbd currently, but in DBD it just doesn´t work very well (but better than the old rank tbh)
About the techs, doing them indeed shows experience, but hitting a normal tentacle strike as nemesis (for example) is so much harder and need so much more skill than hitting a survivor by dragging your hitbox, the drag ´´dumb down´´ your aim skills most of the time, and this is not a bad thing, but they´re removing (at least for now, besides the hug tech) only the bad ones, like locker saves, lightburn (cmon, looping wraith needs so much more skill than holding m2 while you look at his body, like, cmon) chucky flicks (exploding your mouse with 9284 DPI is not showing skill, i´m sorry, like, you don´t even need to aim or think you just throwit and that´s it) etc etc etc
It does have MMR yes, but you can tell it is WAY more lenient and also people are generally a lot less tense and casual most of the time.
I also agree that some techs need/needed to be removed, but something like Sky Billy/Space Billy should of never left
-
@RFSa09 said:
- 1.SBMM itself is not a bad thing, just look at overwatch, the problem i that the game have TWO DIFFERENT ROLES, a survivor can´t be better or good as a killer, because survivors and killers are completely different things
2.Most of the ´´techs´´/ flicks they´re removing are so easy to pull off that they dumb down your gameplay instead of showing that you´re good at using the vanilla character (old chucky turn rate and lightburn are really good examples)
3. i know the reason but i don´t care tbh
4. idk
sometimes, having 8 hours of dbd every day for 8 years is not healthy for you (not you, people in general), YOU are sucking the fun out of yourself, you know what i mean?
HEAVILY disagree on that
SBMM works in a game like OW since when you queue up for a comp game, you and your team are expected to play at their best, as well as their team. Even in OW people are scolded for playing full comps in casual lobbies. DbD is a casual game for the large majority of the playerbase and no one wants to sweat the majority of their games, especially since they dont have control of it.
The techs are absolutely a form of skill expression, even if theyre on the easier side. Seeing Oni or PHead flick with perfect accuracy still shows that there has been time dedicated in that character, especially since theyre most than likely playing very well in addition to doing these flicks. Seeing a Billy or Demo fly through the air or a Wesker do a pixel perfect dash to slide across a surface also shows experience and hours poured into the character while also looking quite impressive.
The game is the most balanced that its ever been. Hell most complaints you heard back in 2017-2018 are basically all resolved, but we were all wrong that balanced = fun.

They ruin so much skill expression and cool things you can do with certain killers. Sky billy, Demo, Blight (yeah Blight could fly just like Billy at one point, theoretically he should still be able to)
Its one of the reasons why I stopped playing Billy, pulling off those pixel perfect flights was fun as hell, and they gutted them. -

"If someone uses an exploit against you, it's a skill issue." ~ @Shroompy
Sorry but no. This is just wrong. If there was an exploit, that allowed killers to glitch through walls, would that be a skill issue too because you should expect it and not go to any walls? They won't crouch, if you're just charging your power with Demo or Billy. They'll do it once the actual attack starts. At that point, you have no counterplay anymore. They might get a M1 afterwards (if they're lucky because usually in the duration of the cooldown, you'll make it to a pallet or window) but still you managed to avoid a hit (or even an insta down) by pressing a single button. There is not much skill needed for that and it's certainly not only a last resort because, if you know how to do it right, then you can do it pretty consistent.
The initial reply was me thinking the guy just couldnt hit some one right in front of him. I misinterpreted it.
As for the rest, I dont understand why a single Survivor tech to avoid a hit is an issue, when there are SEVERAL killer techs that are the sole reason why they can get a hit/down. I understand this is basically just "whataboutism". But it is definitely valid here considering theyre all techs.
Billy/Demo/Blight: Some objects and terrain dont have collision with Shred and Sprint, making them able to slide right across them. (Autohaven cars are a great example)
Bubba: Looking up or down to manipulate the attack hitbox to avoid colliding with certain objects/terrain. Showcased perfectly by looking up and having a Survivor standing right in front of you. (Same way how crouch tech works)
Legion: Having a Survivor blind you mid power causes you to exit your power, but not stun you. Used specifically when a Survivor tries to blind you at a pallet or window to kickly vault over it to get a down
Oni: Can go well above his turn limit
Pyramid Head: Can flick his power
Nemesis: Drag tech
Wesker: Urobend, very widespread yet no one gives a damn
Xeno: Can also drag/flick its power to a certain extent.
Chucky: Can go well above his turn limit
These are simply the ones that come to mind, and I know for a fact there are more. It is very clear that NONE of these are intentional, yet everyone is quiet when it comes to them. But all of a sudden a very niche and situational tech for Survivor gets shown to a wider audience and every one is losing their minds? Its been 8 years people, this is nothing new and I highly doubt any of you can tell me youve been affected by this more than you have any of these Ive just mentioned.

I remember that spot too, though I mostly used it to sit on top of the buildings next to shack with insidious and iri brick waiting for a survivor so I could make them ######### themselves via silent hillybilly form the skys (wouldve been great if the batman skin was out for him at that point :/) but like even in that clip when you factor the time to climb up, get onto the vault, line it all up properly its neglibly faster than just chainsawing over then walking up the stairs at main, sure you might get the slightest edge from the element of surprise but the spot is in view of the gen in main and a survivor on it would just be watching you wondering ######### youre doing. Its the nichest possible secnario of there being a survivor on the stairs who doesn't see Billy getting up on railings and start reving while looking straight at them where you gain an actual sizeable advantage over normal play.
This was used to patrol gens. You could easily scare off some one from the gallows, then get to main gen WAY faster than going up the stairs.

I can picture this VERY well and would 100% be down.

This isn't only in Shack tho, any down slope surface like Swamp ground, Stairs is up for Crouch Tech. Even Crouching slightly to the side of narrow passageways are up for crouch tech because Chainsaw Runs and Shred are forced to aim for the middle or collide with the crappy wall collision.
Swamp is most likely the biggest offender in this case but even then its fairly easy to counter.
Its a last resort to try and avoid a hit just like a 360. All it takes is a little bit of patience

THIS IS A SKILL ISSUE??? Bruh, if Crouch Tech is a skill issue on the Killer side, Blight's Hug Tech was a skill issue on the Survivor side.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/HCD96NIH2Q4D/crouch-tech.jpg
If you read one of my replies, Ive covered this (being shack specifically) and that I agree should go. getting rid of the elevation would not only help with this issue but it would most likely get rid of the trap shove spots as well.

To be fair BHVR has removed many of the previously accepted techs. Biggest one to come to mind was Blight getting all of his flicks removed and his hug tech is going away next patch. Also I do think sky billy and space billy shouldn't really be considered along with any of these other techs or exploits or whatever you want to call them since it had literally no use cases to beneficial, it was just a silly map geometry thing rather than urobending or crouch tech which has genuine applications in chase.
Imo crouch tech is slightly problematic because of how niche it is which makes it really confusing to a player who doesn't already know what it is and its a lot more "######### just happened" to have a chainsaw pass through a survivor on the stairs to thompson house than to have an Oni turn around mid attack. Like at least with the other issues they are frequent enough that someone can reasonably learn to adapt around them, crouch tech just affects specific killers on specific maps in a confusing manner. Crouch tech is a much more confusing and buggy interaction which is why its more problematic imo.
Sky Billy is in the same boat as mods, most people used it for fun but there was DEFINITELY ways to use it to gain an advantage. I would know, since Ive learned certain rotations.
https://youtu.be/fVTmVDkUJRg?si=kshWcWzD0yToi08xThis is one of many, its just the only one I had recorded. To be able to get ontop of main that quickly is not just some small feat, it saves an immense amount of time.
Do I want this to return? Yes, it was fun learning these spots and was a way to express my knowledge and skill as Billy. In fact I want all techs to remain because all of them show some sort of skill expression, knowledge, and experience.
-
@ExcelSword said:

If you are in a situation where you need to use your power to hit the survivor, because it will close the distance before they get to a pallet or window, it is not a "skill issue" for the survivor to exploit a hit box bug.
I refuse to call it a tech, because it's just an exploit 100%.
The amount of scenarios where this happens can be counted on one hand. Its also not nearly as impactful as some other techs out there that are universally accepted. Urobending, Demo/Billy Slide, Drag Tech, Oni Flick, and the biggest offender of them all, (which some still say should return to this day) Sky Billy and Space Billy. There are more, these are simply the ones that come to mind.
If were going to be removing techs from the game we cant just cherry pick which ones. And I think we can all agree that getting rid of any of these techs would SEVERELY impact the skill ceiling of the game in general, and overall just make the game WAY more dull.
Crouch tech is fine, as stated previously it is basically a last resort to avoid a hit and just like a 360's, you can see it coming from a mile away. Only instance that should be removed is at shack since it can create a lose-lose scenario where you can crouch at the pallet, and regardless of what the killer does youre going down.
-
Oh im well aware of what crouch tech is, your wording makes it seem as if youre talking about back revving
EDIT: Youre also meant to be able to do so against Nemesis, otherwise there would be basically nothing you could do against his power.
-
Im sorry but if you cant hit some one whos right in front of you with any of these killers its a skill issue
Crouch tech is basically a 360, a last resort.

Ah, tier up imminent. Would be a nice thematic addition and wouldnt have that much of an effect on balance since Survivors have lots of info on the killer nowadays, and this would barely make a difference. While were talking about thematic changes.. can we please have the following come back?
Doctor Madness Effects (Make a photo sensitive option)
Spirit Shatter Blade (Was only on the PTB)
Huntress' Lullaby being replaced by heavy breathing while in chase, (helped synergize with stealth perks back in the day)
Ghost Face Shrouded SFX
Pyramid Head PTB Chase Music

If it's not "sided" in any direction then why do I win a vast majority of my killer matches besides the ones where I feel so bad that I turn friendly? And no, it's not low MMR, I get tryhards with meta builds too.
Even SWFs lose most of the time, since most of them are casuals who just play for fun with each other, so they end up being "too alturistic" for their own good which gets them all killed. The exception of course being those try-hard SWF groups, but even then those ones win barely half of the time from my experience as a killer against them.
Against these SWF, I have the advantage as a killer to judge pre-game based on their skins whether or not I think they're a SWF, and I can see the items they have equipped. If I don't like what I see, I can dodge the lobby. If I see them all with toolboxes, I can bring Franklins. If I see flashlights, I can bring Mad Grit and Lightborn and capitalize on knowing that they'll try to flashlight me.
Survivors can't counter like this before the match starts, or lobby dodge killers they don't like. So even before the match starts, a tryharding killer can give himself the advantage.A killer whos trying to win is obviously gonna do well against a group just goofing around, that goes without saying.
Cherry picking lobbies is also gonna increase your winrate considering youre actively avoiding a challenge whenever it presents it self. This is probably one of the biggest issues in the game and definitely needs addressing.
