Proof. Yeah i love the build. Fast heals for teammates its so helpful. I have a specific build for unhooking but its super situational
She deserved that win for outplaying you all.

These are completely unrelated things. A) The match has not started yet, so there is no penalty for leaving. Anyone who leaves will be backfilled by a new player OR the match will be cancelled and any offerings used will be returned. B) This is not one sided at all, everything you just listed goes for both sides.
Is the team looking into the fact that killers are able to avoid any match where it might seem like their opponent isn't a good fit but survivors are completely blind to their fate?
Hiding prestige and showing killer ping/profiles should be priorities to improving the pre-game lobby.
Either everyone is blind or no one is.
-
The game has terrible matchmaking. Its not your fault.
Biggest reason why when I play killer I'll maybe kill one or two people or just two hook everyone and let them go.
It seems like once you get in a certain MMR bracket you get stuck and forced to be a punching bag.

You miss the point. When you pay money for a video game (or any product), you agree to contract. This contract binds both you and the one selling their product to a set of rules. Meaning you as a customer also have certain rights. In the case of online multiplayer games, these rules are specified (mostly) in the EULA.
If BHVR decided to 'punish' their customers for something outside their control, something that is not in any way considered in the contract, they get in trouble. From a legal perspective. Which means, they would now have to change the contract in hindsight, which is possible (perks of running a live game) but not quite so easy, if it ends up in terminating service (or part of it) for some people. Granted, I'm not familiar with the proceedings in that regard, so I'm not sure what exactly BHVR would have to do in order to change their terms of service in that way and I won't speculate on it any further.
You cannot blame the customers for living in a certain place. If anything, you would need to blame this on BHVR. They market their game in these regions and there is no section in the game's EULA that says that a customer needs to have a sufficiently strong connection to the servers to be allowed to play the game in full capacity. As long as you are able connect to the servers, you fulfill the requirements in that regard.
As I've stated earlier, survivors should be able to see the ping of the killer before the match starts so they can decide to dodge if it seems like it will be a high-latency match.
Killers can already do this and avoid lagging survivors, why do survivors get no say in whether or not they want to face a lagging opponent?
-
@Xernoton said:
Why would punish the players for something outside of their control? That makes no sense. They bought the game and have as much a right to play as you or anyone else for that matter. You can't punish them simply because their connection is not good enough by your standards.
Playing video games is a privilege, not a right.
But let's assume you are correct, is it not also the right of the four other players to have a fair, functional match?
This is not a minor inconvenience, the game simply ceases to function for the survivors if they have over 150 latency, you're better off just going next which completely kills the spirit of the game.
It is within their control because anyone who can install a game on their computer or console should be aware that playing on servers thousands of miles from your home country will be a heavily degraded experience, combine that with the fact that there are custom games vs survivor bots and there's no excuse.

Your unwillingness to play against high ping players isn't BHVR's problem either
Not really a counter-argument.
Its in the bhvr's best interest to remove blatantly broken stuff from their game, these things definitely do add up overtime and could be the reason someone or multiple people quit.
There is no good argument in my eyes for forcing players into high-latency lobbies when you cannot even tell if you're going to be in one or not.
-
On topic I think BT should be disabled in EGC but hooktimers get paused or extended for longer once the gates are open so the emphasis is on going for hook saves and pulling off a proper save and its a risk-reward deal for both sides instead of swarming the hook or facecamping to kill.

As far as I know ping doesnt get raised based on the killer. That would require the killer to be hosting the game, which stopped being the case years ago when dedicated servers were implemented.
No other explanation for me loading in with a red bar for the entire game, hitting escape, and seeing everyone at 140+ ms.
Regardless, the game shouldn't even keep going after that, its not playable.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3488399#Comment_3488399
So you just want to punish people for things that could be out of their own control.
Why should the other four people who did not consent have to suffer through an impossible game?
Also, my suggestion very clearly states a time-condition to prevent unnecessary false alarms due to ping-spikes.
If you're causing everyone in the match to have 150+ ms for more than a minute the game should objectively be rendered invalid.
-
@Crowman said:
How do you prove intent?
None of my suggestions require intent to be proven, it aborts a game that's ruined already.

i guess seeing ping might be ok. The lobby dodging would be crazy though.
I mean why should anyone have to play vs a high-latency killer? Its not fun at all.
Don't get me wrong, high-latency survivors also can ruin the game for the killer, but at least one laggy survivor doesn't raise the latency of every player in the trial. And the killer can dodge red-bars as much as they want.

"i dont like playing against high ping killers therefor all of south america should be incapable of playing dbd"
Well yeah actually, this is definitely not just a me thing nor is it just a "it works so deal with it" moment.
The game was not made to be played at 150+ ms, and falls apart really badly.
Its especially unfair for the survivors who get their ping raised despite having good connections.
-
@nars said:
RIP south america players I guess.
BHVR's inability/unwillingness to put a server in the SA region isn't my problem, and while I empathize with those players, nobody has fun getting artificially high ping that renders most of the game unplayable and thus they shouldn't be allowed to play.
Alternatively they should also let the survivors see the latency of the killer before the match starts so I can dodge if the killer is permanently red knife'd.

lol.
Here's Skull Merchant's chase power.
Put Drone at loop.
Wait for Drone to activate.
Survivor leaves loop.
Repeat until you catch up and get a hit.
Repeat until down.
OR
Put Drone at loop.
Wait for Drone to activate.
Survivor doesn't leave loop.
They die.
That's it. It's just a worse version of Knight. Knight plays the same way but his Guards have some versatility. You can waste time, get hits, interrupt healing, snipe people, kick them off of gens etc etc all from across the map.
If not, he plays the same way, except better because you have a second Killer chasing Survivors.
Put Guard in loop.
Survivors must leave loop.
Get hit.
Repeat until down.
OR
Put Guard in loop.
Survivor doesn't leave loop.
They die.
I can think of like four not knight/sm killers that have the same gameplay loop.
Its just how killer powers are designed now.

Crowman advised you to take perks that compensate for your weaknesses, not account for the chance of something happening.
You're both so anti-Hit N' Run that you can't even process fundamental gameplay strategy for what it is. If you struggle with ANYTHING in the game, the natural response anyone should have is to recommend you run certain perks or play in such a way that minimizes your struggle.
Gens flying too fast? "Use gen regression."
Survivors healing too quickly? "Use Sloppy"
Difficulty finding Survivors? "Use Aura Reading"
Struggling to chain tiles together? "Windows of Opportunity"
Bad at skill checks? "Technician"
Killers constantly getting the drop on you? "Sprint Burst"
Y'all really going to pretend like any of those are excuses and/or niche advice? If you struggle with any element of the game, and there are perks you can run that raise your performance in those areas, you are a fool for not running those perks. It's common sense.
In what universe did I ever say I was weak or struggling against this playstyle lol? What am I compensating for exactly?
You guys continue to argue with a wall about a point you made up about me.
I never said Hit and Run was uncounterable, in fact I said I win most of my games against it, I personally feel that its brainless and uninteractive to go against. You can get mad at this opinion, but I still maintain that DBD would be better for encouraging interaction based gameplay.
This is the reason why I don't care about tunneling and actively enjoy being tunneled (within reason,) its high-stakes, fast-paced gameplay that's entirely interactive and lead to huge gains for both sides.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3486365#Comment_3486365
If they are very common perks, then taking a perk to counter them is reasonable. It's not like I'm telling you to take some bad perk that counters a very niche situation.
Wraith isn't even a top killer in dbd and you're complaining about how unstoppable he is when the killer player using his power effectively. Some point you just have to realize, it's not the killer who is at fault.
You're right its the game's fault for nerfing most killer playstyles so they have to resort to playing a boring uninteractive playstyle instead.
Hit and Run is the equivalent to distortion gen-rushing tbh.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3486348#Comment_3486348
I play plenty of survivor. That's why I can tell you, you're failure to adapt to the situation at hand is your own fault. If you are constantly finding yourself having issues dealing with hit and run strats, well you have perks to help.
Sprint Burst is great at getting you out of unsafe areas to safer ones.
You can use Inner Healing and Med-kits for self healing. CoH is still very effective into hit and run strats even if you can't heal yourself with it anymore.
You even have access to tools to help get gens done quicker such as Deja Vu and Prove Thyself.
Complaining about hit and run just shows you have no ability to adapt outside of chase around a pallet.
Advising someone to take perks just for the chance that it might counter the killer's playstyle is folly.
Fear-Mongerer, Sloppy, Lethal, XYZ is a very common pubstomp build that counters most of what you're suggesting.
Again its not that the strat is uncounterable, I win most of my games vs Hit and Run, I just personally find it to be extremely uninteractive and boring, so I want to see it get nerfed but only when killers get buffed so they don't have to use it because PVP games should encourage interaction.
-
@Pulsar said:

lol no
Even super good players get tunneled out fast. If you are a worse player and choose to tunnel someone better than you, you were probably already going to lose.
Sometimes, there are busted set-ups and tunneling isn't super viable at that moment in time. However, the vast majority of the time, tunneling isn't really a thing you can say "it's risky and the counter is being good 4head"
None of the M1 killers are any good at tunneling unless its a really sparse map like Rotten Fields, any decent player can run them long enough for at least 3-4 gens to pop with unhook BT, in which its on the team to finish the last gen and get a 2 out at worst. I don't really see the problem with that.
The problem is when people who play the best killers tunnel, because I think a Blight/Wesker/Spirit tunnel is virtually uncounterable unless the player is terrible.
But that just means those killers need to be nerfed, not that survivors need even more tunnel protection.
The issue with making basekit anti tunnel features is that it will be used offensively instead of defensively like how BT is used right now, which can lead to all sorts of problems.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3486330#Comment_3486330
You're just explaining a skill issue. You refuse to heal up and try to force gens that are unsafe while injured and then cry that the killer caught you out in the open.
You're inability to play against any tactics that doesn't involve running around a pallet is your problem.
Where did I mention I lose to it?
I can handle it just fine, that doesn't mean its not boring and repetitive.
"Refuse to heal up" When was the last time you played survivor? Do you realize how long it takes to find someone, and then natty heal through Sloppy? In my SWF we literally have one person bring We'll Make It just for that and its still annoying, I can only imagine how it annoying it is in solo.
"Force gens" As opposed to what? You literally have to do an unsafe gen at some point in which the problems with the playstyle arise, there's no chase, no interaction, no intelligence, just mindlessly get a stealth hit over and over. Let's be real.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3486315#Comment_3486315
Unsafe Gen
That's the keyword right there. You took a huge risk against a wraith while injured and it didn't pay out.
Yeah let me go find an ally to heal through sloppy butcher and then go back to the gen and then get hit again anyways and repeat until someone gets bored and goes next.
Not to mention sometimes 3-gens can have 2/3 being unsafe so its not like you can ignore them.
Hit and Run is stale, made even worse with healing nerfs + sloppy being popular, the only reason why I don't think it should get nerfed is because killers have little else to work with but I definitely would like it to get smashed once killers get buffed.
-
Tunneling already is super risky and has an inherent counter called being good.
The only reason killers should win by tunneling is if the killer is super good in which the game was over anyways or the survivors play bad in which they should lose anyways.
I don't think survivors need more than what we have to counter it personally.
The killers super good at tunneling (Blight,Wesker) just need nerfs is all.
-
@Crowman said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3486248#Comment_3486248
What's funny is that it's more braindead for everyone killer to just hold W at every loop until they Bloodlust for hits. There's more skill expression in hit and run comparatively because you need to have good map awareness to create ambush points on injured survivors.
The skill expression in question: Wow I uncloak blocking a loopable object while the survivor is doing an unsafe gen and lunge for a free down.
-
@meatshield said:
they defended dead hard, they lost. Guess what happens next?
The loss in question:
It still functions exactly the same, and most people weren't getting more than two uses. I feel like you're coping.
OT:
Because I like perks that aren't clunky to use and give me use in every game.
-
I do actually 'cause the killer is calling me big and strong and handsome and good at the game.

My QoL has gone up significantly with anon-mode.

What do you mean by "useful".
Well let's see:
Maps - Useless because I know gen and totem spawns.
Keys - Useless because its not reliable to be the last one alive unless trolling, aura-reading is nice I guess.
Flashlights - Killers throw tantrums and tunnel over them, or equip lightborn if they see one beamer, not reliable.
Toolboxes - Only commodius is good, but still a boring item only good for genrushing with.
Medkits - All basically same rarity, feels terrible if the killer has sloppy or anything that would ruin a heal.
I legit just bring a beamer every game because I don't like going in empty handed, but I get use from it maybe once every eight games which doesn't seem right to me.
-
@BlightedDolphin said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3485577#Comment_3485577
Med kits are still useful though, they just aren’t overpowered anymore.
1-2 self heals per game is all you really need most games anyway.
Yeah but I only use the grey's, the other rarities are kinda pointless and just bloodweb clutter, wouldn't mind if they removed rarities from all items tbh.
-
@emetSdidnothingwrong said:
No way, medkits are way to plentiful to buff them. Other than gen slow down (which literally every survivor cries and moans about) the only way a killer can slow the game down is by forcing you to spend time healing, it's quite literally not possible to every win if there is always 3 survivors on gens, they are suppose to force you off the objective and to do something else.
Good grief man this community, I swear killer isn't "fair" until you can solo escape 95% of the time no hatch required. Hit and run is the most fair type of playstyle a killer has ever been able to do and still win because 12 hooking isn't happening without 180s gens.
Posting in the wrong thread?

I'm not, but I'm trying to explain to you something being well-liked and popular doesn't mean its excluded from nerfs.
If people are going to say that Wesker shouldn't get nerfed because he's popular and fun then the same can be applied to meta perks that are complained about.

Performing well is where killers SHOULD be. Performing well =/= OP. If that was ppl's problem, the thread would be titled "Wesker is OP, it's just not possible to win against this guy". There IS counterplay though and the complaints are about his popularity. Popularity is not something to base what gets nerfed, otherwise things like Windows of Opertunity would get hit, which is dumb.
I agree 100%!
Now put Made For This in your post instead of Wesker, what's the difference?

Except the complaint against Wesker is that he's too popular, not that he's OP. Things shouldn't be buffed/nerfed due to things like popularity or DCes, but rather how well they perform.
Except Wesker is performing well too.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but he meets all the criteria to get nerfed, any argument against him getting nerfed could be applied to the current complained about perks as well.
Will he get nerfed? I doubt it but he is definitely in that territory and I personally would not mind him getting knocked down and played less.
