  • Even though I don't play anymore I still watch content creators from time to time and even they seem to be struggling to play consistently, with many of them outright saying they don't play offstream or are planning on taking a hiatus.

  • That's what happens when you delete every alternative playstyle.

  • If you're losing just finish 2 gens and go for 2 unhooks and 2 full heals.

If you win a single chase that should be enough to pip and guarantees safety pip.

  • @Xernoton said:

Ok... Let's have a look on what happened in the past 12 months for survivors, shall we?

    1) Base kit BT.

    2) Ruin + Undying gutted.

    3) Reassurance added to the game.

    4) Nurse nerf. No more Range + Recharge.

    5) New HUD.

    6) Visual TR.

Clearly the devs must be killer sided!

    1) Band-aid for a dumb-playstyle that is still unaddressed. Would gladly see it go if tunneling was gutted.

    2) Passive strong gen regression is degenerate and shouldn't exist, good riddance. Perks like pain-res are far healthier for the game.

    3) Licensed perk that is another band-aid for a dumb playstyle, its broken in swfs I'll give you that, but camping isn't good vs good swfs anyways.

    4) Nurse changes were a slap on the wrist, as long as she can double-blink instantly she will never be balanced.

    5) HUD changes were just QoL for solo-queue, nothing more.

    6) Are we really calling accessbility improvements Survivor buffs now? Lol.

  • No you're just used to the braindead 3-gen that used to be guaranteed before its mini-update.

Now it's a lot more fair for survivors. I'd still argue its killer-sided but that depends on the street/park pallet/gen RNG, which can turn it into a Survivor map.

  • Instead of greeding pallets and doing high-risk/high-reward strats with DH, my recent games have been the following gameplay pattern:

    -Go to safe tile

    -Loop twice

    -Pre drop

    OR

-Get pushed off gen in a deadzone

    -Drop unsafe pallet

-Get bloodlusted around said pallet until guaranteed down

Repeat over and over. Totally more enjoyable and def more skillful.

"If DH was so inconsistent why did everyone use it?" DH was vastly used because its one of the only perks in the game with agency which made it fun. It had no pre-reqs aside from getting hit and was a button you press when you predicted a down.

That doesn't mean it wasn't inconsistent, considering how bad ping affects everything. Lunges were the only time it was basically a guaranteed perk. Also, most people didn't know how to DH properly under a pallet, so pretending like it was 100% success is a lie.

But its okay, lets keep nerfing aggressive perks until all we have left are boring non-interactive perks like gen-rushing and pre-running. Then people will act like its a mystery that the game feels so stale.

The only survivor meta that hasn't gotten nerfed at all is gen-rushing, which is arguably more unhealthy than the self-heal and DH metas.

  • Well until the community stops huffing collective copium that these strats are fun and fair to play against the devs won't ever see it as a serious issue.

ok but that's not what I'm talking about, is it?

a successful killer game uses tons of different strategies depending on what you're up against and hit & runs is one of them. if a killer hard commits to a hit & run strat, they're going to lose unless your team is severely low rank.

    it's a non-issue.

No one said its unbeatable though?

The entire point of this thread was to see what other survivor players think about the playstyle, not that it should be deleted, and it seems like the consensus from Surv players here is that they would rather be chased (which makes sense as it benefits survs to get chased.)

I personally dislike hit and run because healing feels so clunky in this game especially after medkit/coh nerfs. And it can be pretty oppressive in solo queue.

That doesn't mean it has no counters.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I mean, it's a nice change of pace from the gen kick meta

Only marginally, being stuck at 1 gen cause everyone is 2hooks and perma injured feels just as stifling.

I was giving all the options I could think of. Not claiming all of them were good. Also SA is actually quite good. You as the user just can't really see its effects.

Information perks are rather paradoxical (minus things like WoO.) They aren't consistent due to being unable to gauge their value without comms, but if you have comms they lose virtually all of their value. Just not worth running imo.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3421310#Comment_3421310

There's already a ton of tools to do that though.

Bond, Empathy, Aftercare, Empathetic Connection, Kindred, Blood Pact, Situational Awareness, keys with certain addons, and map with the beacon addon all exist. Why do you feel like you need more?

There's no way you're seriously suggesting EC, BP, SA, keys and maps.

A big issue with the game currently is that both Killer and Survivor have perks that they def need to have some sort of consistency to their games. This restricts builds so much.

It feels as if people care more about the orientation or sexuality of a character instead of you know, their personality, style, backstory or literally anything else. Not passing judgement but I would hope people really aren't that shallow

Again though, people like what they like. I sorta get it now at least. Sorta.

The issue is that much like racism, people don't realize there are more subtle forms of bigotry and that even good ppl can exhibit them.

Homophobia can manifest in other ways that's not just "I actively hate and attack LGBT ppl."

But I think the convo is too nuanced for an internet forum. So probably best to leave it alone.

  • This thread will probs be closed soon which sucks cause it could've been nice to talk about David's recent lack of quality cosmetics.

It would actually. I wouldn't want to play them anymore and I'm saying this as a trans woman. I have absolutely no attraction to women so playing a character who does just doesn't suit me it takes away a lot of relatability because attraction is a pretty big part about someones life

You can be a trans woman and still be homophobic btw. Not to mention you saying you can't play dudes cause of their attraction to women despite every character sans a few having a nebulous sexuality says all that needs to be said.

I don't think anyone cares what significance you put on certain aspects, nobody can force you to like anything and you can have any reason to dislike it.

Well they changed David so more people could be represented in the game. It doesn't make someone a bigot if they no longer identify with a character and choose not to play them. I think maybe you have some growing up to do.

People are entitled to their beliefs (somewhat.) But let's not be delusional.

If him being gay is the straw that makes someone drop the character entirely then it's bigotry. I don't need nor want to argue about it but there's no point in pretending.

And let's be real, the amount of people not playing David because he's gay vs the amount of people not playing him for literally any other reason is like 10 to 1000, so it doesn't matter.

The hitbox part is actually untrue. All survivors share the same hitboxes and hurtboxes.

Perhaps but I don't think anyone can deny the visual advantage female survivors have, it is FAR easier to hide on them.

  • @Katzengott said:

Scary how bad survs need their excaution perks. Never liked them, barely used them.

Against most killers you'll still make it to another loop using the free sprint burst after getting hit. If you have a hard time finding loops use WoO. Against Nurse and Blight you need to play different anyway.

Yeah that's why competitive survivors use exhaustion perks too right? Because they're bad?

Funny how survivor perks that aren't completely worthless are called crutch and brainless and yet actual crutches like Bloodlust and Hit Validation are considered "deserved downs."

  • @1ettuce said:

Also like I have no problem when hnr is used just to waste survivors' time but it's so stupid and lazy when used to just get effortless downs, that's why I'm kinda ok w it on legion and sadako but even then if they create deadzones like what are you meant to do. Maybe just be a bit greedy depending on the situation, idk, idk if that really works or not cuz it's hard to visualize but j saying killers who can sneak up injure sneak up down are just boring and that is literally just lazy

My favorite is when the 3gen on the map is an unsafe one and you have to spend so many hookstates trying to break it.

I have never seen a single killer get mad about an afk survivor.

Really? Because so far I've seen:

-2 streamers who told me some very choice words when I went to their vod.

-A nurse that slugged the OTHER three survivors after I went next and claimed she was upset that I left.

-A blight that left me slugged then made me wiggle until EGC ran out.

Just in case it wasn't clear, I mean "I'm going stand under the hook to signify I want you to kill me so I can go next" and not a legit afk at the start.

  • I'm on my 6th right now. Its so funny watching them get mad when you afk at a hook at the start of the game.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3419666#Comment_3419666

Eh not really. I think exhaustion perks as a whole are often used as a crutch and people don't learn to loop effectively without them. A lot of survivors just throw on an exhaustion perk and hope that will save them but they don't take the time to learn the fundamentals. If you can learn the basics before using the exhaustion perks you can better get value out of it (which few people do it that way) since you aren't leaning on it too much. I chalk it up to bad players moreso than bad perks (although I think SB is overrated. Still decent but not as good as people make it out to be). If exhaustion perks essentially guaranteed an escape in chase they would be broken, therefore I think they are largely in a good spot.

Basekit looping becomes a lot less effective since bloodlust exists. I'd agree with you otherwise.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/374586/hot-take-i-way-preferred-the-dh-meta

I've never been bothered by lithe, SB, or balanced landing tbh. There are counters in place for them but even if survivors successfully trigger the exhaustion perk then I catch up to them not too long after. Those perks are in a good place.

DH gave essentially a free hit and could guarantee vaults in situations. That is much more powerful than the other exhaustion perks and that's a problem.

I would like other exhaustion perks to get some love since all of the others are trash beside SB, DH, BL, and Lithe

I mean you don't see a problem with that?

"They used their perk well but I caught up fast anyways and downed them."

That doesn't make them balanced it makes them bad perks btw.

I just see it as unfair on your teammates. As killer I generally couldn't care for my experience. A hook suicide is a free win, I have control of the game after that so I'm free to farm and release if I want. As surv it winds me up because so many nope outs on hook are done when the match is still easily winnable. Like when someone hook suicides after first down, or discovering killer has a certain perk.

It's one player deciding "######### those other three players and their experience" and it's unfair on people trying to play the game properly. I don't have an issue with it mid or late game when it's obvious who will win. But early on it's unfair and mad disrespectful to the other survivors

Yeah well it's unfair to me to watch my team play super inefficiently because they'd rather play for their own fun, so I return the energy by looking out for my own fun and going next.

It doesn't happen often enough to be this talked about. It's just a facet of the game.

  • In a weird way I'm actually glad it got nerfed despite it being a perk I always use.

Nobody waits out my DH anymore, and I've been going 2/2 with my DH's almost every match which is similar to how many I got pre-nerf.

  • Most David's are P100, and playing P100 in the current climate is like asking for an unfun match, I personally stopped playing him after getting tunneled and slugged because I 'm p100 on him.

Since David and Vittorio have similar charm I mainly just play Vitto instead.

Doesn't help that David has so many joke cosmetics.

  • Trap question.

Doesn't matter what I consider to be acceptable to go next on hook. Everyone is different.

It exists as an option for survivors that don't want to play that doubles as a last resort comeback mechanic. There's no reason for it to be changed.

The only people who advocate for this change are people that cause it to begin with most of the time.

As someone who solo queues a lot I don't really care if someone goes next, the game isn't my fault at that point and I can just go next too. I'd rather deal with the slight annoyance of someone insta-unhooking themselves if it means I get the chance to do so myself in an unfun match.

  • @fussy said:

Imagine playing a game for 6 years and not seeing how OBJECTIVELY healthier and better it is getting from year to year. I have a lot of complaints about this game, but I clearly see that it is only getting better on both sides.

Let's just be honest, with "unplayable" and "the game it once was" you mean "I want all the unbalanced things that made this game fun"

I won't lie, I'm glad that such players are leaving. You are a generation of players (in this playerbase) who are too spoiled by all the advantages of the game as it was years ago. Players who enjoy healthy gameplay will come instead, it's ok.

I mean balance through everything being broken vs balance through watering down everything I find the former to be way more exciting and the latter to be very boring.

Started in 2022 and watching videos of old DBD makes me sad I never got to experience it.

You are rewarding those bad playstyles by giving the killer a quick kill. I don't see how that's a good thing.

Not my job to moderate bad playstyles, the devs are responsible for fixing them and I'm not going to be miserable for nothing.

  • No thanks. One of the best prats of DBD is that I don't have to stay in a match that's a waste of time.

Hook suicides are the most consistent way to avoid lots of bad playstyles in this game.

  • As Survivor:

-Prestige/Profile/Name all hidden until end of the game. Makes no sense killers can see how many hours and levels you have but survivors just have to hope they don't go against p100 Huntress.

-Every exhaustion perk should be a button so they all feel as good as DH.

-Hemmorage effect reworked into something like Stridor instead of removing healing.

-Map re-balancing across the board for more windows/drops and less pallets, however nerf blood-lust to accommodate for it.

    -Basekit Kindred/Resilience/Kinship

-Keys being reworked into a chase oriented item, maps being reworked to always show the info for all survs without needing an addon. Remove green rarity.

-BT no longer applies deep-wound and instead is a MoM effect.

    --Healthy hook grabs removed.

    -Anti camp measures introduced.

    -Give up option while slugged.

    As Killer:

-Toolboxes no longer increase gen speeds, and are purely for sabotage, when used on a gen they simply give the user a pesudo-version of hyperfocus to keep the interaction skillful. BNP reworked to make gens resistant to regression.

    -Corrupt Intervention/Jolt/BBQ basekit.

-Prove thyself reworked to be the gen version of Lucky Break i.e you need to do 90 seconds of a gen alone before its usable, and only usable for X amount of seconds before you need to solo gen again.

    -Anti-stealth measures

-BP/Pip rewards shifted around to be primarily on spreading out hooks and downing survivors.

    -DC's count towards adepts.

-Adrenaline no-longer exhausts the survivor but they also no longer get it upon being unhooked.

-BT no longer active during EGC.

-Fixing killer clunk across the board i.e phantom hits/sliding/stuck on random assets.

-Option to change color of bloodpools/scratchmarks.

-Addon reworks for the killers that need them. More interesting addons that change a killer's playstyle and less addons that remove counterplay.

I'm aware this would change a lot for competitive scene, this is mainly a personal wishlist.

  • @HamsterEnjoyer said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3417911#Comment_3417911

I'd rather an actual stealth/horror meta tbh. Make survivors feel terrified to get into a chase thats more fun for me as survivor than just looping the same tile for the 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000x time in a day

The problem is that stealthing contradicts efficiency. You can't stealth a gen.

I would be all for a game-mode with no gens or pallets and everyone has no-mither/2 hook states by default and the survivor that stays alive the longest wins, or something similar that probably needs a time-constraint.

It would be a nice way to practice mind-games and fooling around while still having tense moments and killers could finally practice chase against real players without having the stress of gens.

  • I've already addressed why killers wouldn't want to chase and that there isn't an alternative to hit and run at the moment due to lack of options.

But I still see posts claiming I'm trying to neuter killers into the ground.

Maybe I should try bold font or a picture next time.

  • @Reinami

Giant wall of text that could've been avoided if you read the posts in the thread instead of assuming my desire is for killers to have nothing.

I understand and have outlined why killers would not want to chase for a long time or why they would employ a strategy. There is a reason I titled the thread for Survivors. I am interested in hearing Survivor opinions about a Killer playstyle because I've seen differing opinions and have my own opinion on the playstyle as well.

  • @mania_ said:

Just because you haven't experienced something it doesn't make it invalid. You explaining your experience is completely useless in validating your claim and emphasises the low probability of it happening but that's the problem right? It DOES happen just like crime, you probably won't witness a jewelry robbery but there's always a possibility someone else does so don't be so self-oriented.

Also don't give me stereotypical reasons about why people are toxic, I've heard it a million times. I don't go toxic unless certain things happen and the killer deserves it, hence why I am asking in case people relate to how I think an ideal (not perfect) killer should play and adopt it into my playstyle since I'm very specific. I prefer chill games where I get a couple hooks and go next without getting tea bagged and fighting for hooks. Don't write a whole essay about my reasoning because I ain't reading it.

Also did I ever say there was something wrong with taking the game seriously? I play laid back but seriously at the same time so I would be a hypocrite if I talked negative about it. I literally 100 percented 26 games and have an extra 112 games in my library. You keep assuming stuff and it's rather irritating.

Also one in four survivors BM'ing is far from rare and has NOTHING to do with psychology. I'm sure killer mains have experienced it way more than me.

If you're going to sum up my very genuine reponses as an essay that you won't read, then I've spent enough time in this thread. I'm sure someone will come along and tell you what you want to hear so you can feel validated.

    Good luck, have fun.

I don’t mind it. Better than the Eruption meta.

I do have to ask though, what play style do people want to play against? I can’t think of a single play style that wouldn’t get complaints, from both sides, so… what do people actually want to play against?

Every playstyle would garner complaints since everyone is different, but for me, I'd like a chase-oriented meta since I haven't seen one since I started playing and chase is my favorite part of the game. I try my best to chase as much as possible when I play killer because I truly feel being good at chase opens the door to becoming a solid DBD player.

There are a few reasons why killers are discouraged from chasing though, and it mainly has to deal with any chase longer than 30+ seconds is effectively a lost game vs good players, and after enough times getting burned killers will eventually take preventative measures and drop chase early to avoid this issue.

My solution is to move away from kills being the sole metric of winning and move to winning chases and getting hook-states being the bulk of pips/bp's. Kills should just be a reward for playing super well.

This should also come with buffing chase perks as well, naturally.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3417031#Comment_3417031

    1. My first and second question is directed at people who do those toxic things - it's no such thing as a impossible question and is actually aimed at a large group of players (maybe not you). A question about what provokes survivors to be toxic shouldn't be difficult to answer if there's legitimate reason.

    2. I never asked you about the reporting system because those reports go nowhere unless someone is obviously hacking/you have video recording(s). Sure toxicity is some people's personality but to encounter it every consecutive game is concerning right? Also why should I give them a emotional response? I'm just curious about others' experiences on the subject and why they take the game so seriously.

    3. There's something called 99ing all three gens so I can't start endgame countdown which should be fairly obvious to someone who goes against 2000+ hours survivors and sees going afk as a valid strategy, I simply assumed you would've understood that it happens.

Do you really believe a toxic person is going to come into this thread and answer your question? I'm not a toxic survivor by any means but I can already answer your question: because its fun. Its fun to get someone riled up, its fun to bully someone until they're raging, especially if you are beating them in a competition. That's it. Some people just don't think critically enough to realize that's its ######### to do so and that they should have compassion for their opponent. But the point is that most people do which is why BM is more rare than people seem to think, its just that BM sticks out in the brain more because people underrate positive experiences as a given. The 4v1 nature of the game just lends itself to this behavior happening.

I implied that you shouldn't give a response, as for taking the game seriously, what's wrong with that? I take everything I do in life seriously (within reason) and I strive to be good at the games I play. To me it feels like a waste of time to not care about the games I play. DBD is no different, and I'm sure other people feel the same.

I have not once in my entire time playing this game ever seen people 99 gens just to stall an EGC and BM, I've never seen it while playing survivor and I've never seen it while playing killer, so I have no idea why you would even bring that up as anything but an extreme anecdote. AFKing is a valid strategy if being BM'd annoys you to the point where we are at now. I personally have never quit or DC'd as killer because if the survivors want to waste time I can force them to end the game by killing them. Killers are far more effective at holding a game hostage.

  • @mania_ said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3417009#Comment_3417009

Did you not even read the questions I wrote? Let me repeat them here: "I want to know if I can ever please survivors enough to not tea bag me and respect my plays? Is it too much to ask for a game where the survivors just leave instead of making fun of me facecamping endgame after they fully gen rush me?" Neither of your two replies even bothered answering those and instead talked about the bonus context? Never did I ever say they shouldn't gen rush me or throw the game I'm just asking what's the point of being toxic if I'm playing as fair as I can which is a whole other topic? Also you're advice about sitting afk in a corner or DCing isn't the best use of my time since many survivors tend to open the gates after they cleanse every totem, open every chest, and try flashbang me.

    1. Who is your first question even directed at? Its a nebulous question that is impossible for any one person or group to answer, so what is there to discuss? Its a given that BM and being a sore winner is bad, this has been talked about to death. If you need to vent about it then go for it, but this is definitely not a novel concept.
    2. Some people will be toxic no matter what game or role they're playing just because that's how they are. The best combatant against this behavior is to call it out, ignore it, or be kind. Some games even offer you ways of reporting bad sportsmanship, this game does not do so effectively, which is the game's fault. You can try fighting it if you want, I like to fight back against bullies too, but you do so knowing you're giving them the emotional response they want.
    3. If you'd rather get BM'd to save time then just stomach it and try pushing them out, but it sounds to me like it tickles you pretty good, so I don't see how starting the EGC and afk'ing could be worse.

Just because I provided one example that happened today doesn't mean it's rare. Happens all the time I just tend to forget about those miserable experiences and don't wanna lie about it. It's happened so much times I would consider swf a hive mind because I don't tea bag ever as a survivor. The fact you assume it's rare tells me you don't play killer in high MMR to have an opinion on it. I don't go to the gate willingly but if there's a chance of knocking the survivor I'll take it. I can generalize about it just like how survivors generalize tunneling as a toxic thing...

Depends on what you consider "High-MMR." I've grinded killer to Iri-1 for several seasons now and frequently go against survivors with 2k+ hours. I've also played against one or two big-ish streamers before as well. So its not like I play against people who don't employ meta strats. Most SWFs play to meme around or bully the killer, the SWFs that play super efficiently really aren't a big deal because the games are done quickly.

I'm just confused as to what you want people to do in higher mmrs, throw on purpose? If people want to sweat I don't see what's wrong with that. They're basically giving you the free pass to sweat as well and not be morally conflicted about tunneling/camping (which you shouldn't anyways but that's off-topic.)

Good on you for wanting to play nice, but that's a choice and you are not entitled to anything for playing nice. You should play nice purely because its fulfilling to do so. If it stops being fulfilling then stop playing nice.

You can generalize if you want, just know that it removes a lot of credibility from your position and diminishes the constructive nature of an honest discussion.

  • What do you want us to say? Give you the okay to tunnel?

You encountered a group of jerks that would be jerks regardless because they never went into the game with the intent of being nice.

The fact that this behavior sticks out to you means its exceptional and thus doesn't happen often. Definitely not often enough to make a thread addressing all survivors as if they're a hivemind.

Report them if its that serious and move on, when I play Killer, it immediately becomes obvious what kind of players the Survivors I'm playing against will be really early on. If I know they will BM in the exit gate I don't even bother going to it and just break pallets/doors.

The "Survivor Rulebook" is just a dumb boogeyman that killer players bring up as a buzzword to throw a pity party over their controversial playstyle.

Except it very much existed as the game gained popularity. Suddenly, Survivors were inventing rules against camping, tunneling, slugging, not playing Nurse, not using certain perks, etc.

When in reality, its not even a rulebook and more "the game would be more fun us if you played like this instead."

When in reality it was more "It would be more fun for us if Killers stopped trying to win. Now excuse me while we bring 2 BNP, a flashlight, and a purple medkit. And all META perks. And use voice comms in a 4-man SWF. But Killers need to stop 'tryharding' and 'sweating' and play off-META sometimes, because our fun matters.'

The beginning and end of this discussion is that you should just play how you want and people are allowed to comment on your playstyle. That's it. Nothing else should need to be discussed.

People invent rules that do what and result in what? 1 or 2 salty end game messages, and annoying tweet or reddit post here or there, or at worst, a profile comment. None of these are serious or pressing consequences. Play on anon-mode, don't use dbd-related social media, or just ignore it. These are all such simple suggestions that its impossible to have an intelligent discussion about the topic.

I'm a survivor main, but I grind killer to Iri1 every season for more BP's. Guess what, I camp, I tunnel, I slug, but I rarely, if ever get people that complain. Guess why?

Because I only do it when its fair-game to do so.

People asking you to not tunnel/camp/slug at 4-5 gens when someone dc'd or went next immediately is not at all comparable to doing the above when facing a bully/tryhard squad and I wish people would stop forcing this comparison.

If you want to win every game, then go for it, camp/tunnel/slug as much as you want. Just please stop trying to paint the narrative that killer mains are oppressed by double-standards.

  • Hemorrhage is what you have an issue with, not SLB. The only reason its so overused is because it's a free perk.

In an ideal world, the hemorrhage effect would get nerfed since spending +20s to heal only to get interrupted by whatever and lose all of it is obnoxious. But nerfing it currently isn't practical since killers don't have many other options.

Personally, I find healing to be a waste of time in general unless its EGC or other niche cases. I run resilience in all my builds for this reason. And if its a stealth killer running the perk I just call it a day and go next since 3 second chases aren't very enjoyable.

  • Maps are supposed to be survivor-sided, that's the entire point.

Unlike killers, all survivors play the same, so maps are supposed to add the uniqueness and variety that killer powers do.

Nerfing every loop to be bloodlust-able or a perpetual 50-50 is brainless and not the direction I'd like to see the game go in personally.

I mean it doesn’t matter to you if survivors complain or not (and it shouldn’t, tbh). Because their fun isn’t your responsibility, after all. Like I said it’s ok to camp just be honest with yourself about it. You don’t earn brownie points by trying to like explain it away, deny it, rationalize it, justify it, etc. you camp and that’s ok. Most players do. Hell, I do. Lol.

anyway don’t bother responding, I won’t acknowledge you. I’ve moved on.

This, every-time I see people doing the absolute most to justify playing a certain way and it never makes sense.

Let's be real, you were going to camp and tunnel anyways. Who cares, virtually everyone is desensitized to it aside from loud minority. We all know its an issue that will be addressed eventually, just be honest and move on.

Most people don't even care about tunneling or camping in a close game, in a tense match, any advantage will be taken to win. The problem is when killers get an enormous lead really early on and still play like this.

Fun is subjective and all, but tunneling and camping are supposed to be last-resort strategies that are used when you really want to win as they are super efficient but less enjoyable. People are going to rightfully treat you like a weirdo when you employ these strategies even in situations where you don't have to.

The "Survivor Rulebook" is just a dumb boogeyman that killer players bring up as a buzzword to throw a pity party over their controversial playstyle.

When in reality, its not even a rulebook and more "the game would be more fun us if you played like this instead."

So Dynamic Repair Speed could work following way :

    • If the number of Gens exceeds the number of Survs by more than 1 THEN repair speed is incread by 15% for each.
    • If the number of Survs exceeds the number of Gens THEN repair speed is decreased by 10% for each.

No thanks, because this system assumes Survs are being super efficient on gens, I don't want to be punished with slower gen progress when I'm the only one doing a gen while everyone else is wasting time.

Making a system that punishes excessive hiding is way better than messing around with basekit gen timings. If gen-rushing is an issue, than they should nerf perks/items that are to blame.

Them touching base gen times was a mistake and I'd hate to see them do it again.

  • Reason to give up first hook:

-Spirit/Blight/Nurse when not in a swf.

    -Skull Merchant

-Gimmick playstyle (Iri Head/Silent Bell/Pinky Finger)

-Sloppy Butcher on a Stealth Killer

-Plague if you have a healing build

    -Franklins/Lightborn

-0 gens popped in first 2 minutes

-Teammate gets grabbed off hook-save (or anything really.)

-2 hooks in the first minute

    -Stealth Teammates

The list goes on really, some games I'll literally load in and run to a hook and wait for the killer to hook because after playing enough you can already tell what games are a waste of time.

I will add that despite this lengthy list, I maybe encounter the things on it once out of every 20 games or so.

  • When I play killer, I only run Aura-Reading perks on Oni.

As a result, when I'm playing anyone else, stealth players are very boring.

The worst is when I can't find anyone so I go back to the hook to try and predict an unhook and force a chase, and by the time I get there all I see is the unhooked person.

Forces me to tunnel them back on the hook and try again, which is annoying because most people don't play well when being tunneled and the whole reason I play killer is to get better at chase.

    --

When I play Survivor, stealth players go from boring to frustraiting.

They don't do gens, they don't take aggro, they don't unhook. Especially when it's nearing the end of the game, you can count on them to wait for you to die to try and get their movie-moment during the hatch 1v1.

Its extremely satisfying ratting them out to an understanding killer and watching them get sacrificed, but I wish the game had a forced anti-stealth mechanic.

Maybe something like: If you haven't done at least 10% of a gen in the last 2 minutes, you become exposed and your aura is revealed until you do so.

  • The whole point is to remove the pressure of someone being on a hook and prevent a hook trade. People do it expecting to be chased, in the end it results in a free +10 seconds to a one hit chase at worst or forces another 2-hit chase, which is the entire goal.

I don't know why all Survivors are being generalized from the loud comments of a few noobs. And I'm sure if I made a similar thread about killers complaining about "gen-rushing" justifying their playstyle it'd go over well right?
