The survivor lobby music is actually pretty fitting. It's the perfect mixture of sombre and apprehensive, for me at least.
-
I love the subtle details on the head/neck how on Earth did she manage to find Jill's top
-
My mother really loves physical copies like those, and she's not even a music-lover. She has loads on loads of them that she just stacks on walls--they're probably 80% of the structural integrity of the house. I guess it's more about nostalgia than anything, to her at least.

There's a few killers and strategies that deal pretty well with boons, which Hex: Chili Pepper would thrive on.
Legion and Plague can keep survivors injured very easily, making CoH next to useless, Demo, Artist, Twins, Blight, Trapper, Doctor, and Pig all have map presence/annoying abilities that can interrupt or hinder booning, and Myers, Ghostface, Bill, and Bubba all make being healthy a lot less valuable for survivors. So with these killers, booning becomes a whole lot less important, and they might as well get rid of the hex quickly.
Try running Plaything, especially on these killers. The more pressure you can keep up for them to quickly dispose of totems, the more likely they are to just cleanse the totem. Undying also isn't terrible, since it makes dull totems a threat to the survivors (all 5 of them).

You can just omit the sumac and roast the livers with onions, salt, garlic and red pepper flakes. If you want to spruce it up a little more, some allspice is nice, but that's only if you like it. A little bit of cumin and ginger is tasty too, but I don't think it works with allspice.
Also, sorry for derailing your thread, I'll stop now.
Don't worry, it's very refreshing to have something other than spite, malice, and haughtiness on this forum.

*laughs in bleeding-out*
Back when you could do this(Yes it was possible and was purposely removed) it legit just ended up causing bleedouts while wasting both the killer's and survivor's time in most cases.
Also just think about it like this:
You failed your main objective aka generators.
You failed to get hatch.
(If hatch is closed)You failed to get the gates.
Why should you get a 3rd/4th chance after failing at all objectives?
Well it's not necessarily just my failure. Playing survivor is a team game, which isn't at all helpful at my ranks. Plus, whether or not second chance perks are deserved is another conversation entirely--I'm just talking about Deliverance seeming inconsistent.

I dunno about chloroform, but roasted chicken liver seasoned with sumac is delicious. Cooked fava beans mashed with garlic, lemon juice, cumin, salt, pepper, tahini and a side of fresh pita bread is also delicious.
I won't lie, I hate the taste of sumac. Anything else you can substitute it with?

So the Killer slugs you for 60 seconds, and/or closes the hatch. Or just leaves you slugged until you bleed out, or until EGS kills you.
You can't open the hatch while slugged. And you will either crawl around, MAYBE get to a door, or die to the EGC. Or he will wait for 60 seconds and re-hook you.
You're acting like being the last hook with Deliverance, with the gates open, and with you in range of the gates, is more common than just being hooked again. It's not.
Slugging is not guaranteed, especially at the ranks I'm playing at. Even if the entire game was a slugfest, there's always the off-chance that there's a door nearby, you have unbreakable, and even soul guard if you're not like the other girls.
-
Well, what the hell is the point of playing a painstakingly fair game if you aren't going to have fun? Fun flows from fairness (among other things), but the opposite isn't true.
-
@AngyKiller said:
Because, barring some fringe scenarios; you're dead. Even if you jump off the hook; the Killer is 3 feet away and will just smack you & put you back on that hook.
You're dead, and anything else is a waste of yours, and the Killer's time.
Hatch isn't too uncommon, neither is DS
-
At least you know you have the moral high ground for not writing a whole dissertation about why playing killer is morally wrong in the post-game chat
-
@anarchy753 said:
Because you're the last survivor, and you've been caught and put on a hook.
You lost, no more "but I have 4 more second chances!"
Well I actually had DS and deliverance so it's actually just 2 more second chances, plus an open gate and the hatch
-
It does end up taking a lot of time to stalk, which makes it pretty "meh" if you want to win the game, but for the survivors that it catches, yes, it's very annoying. It's just not gamebreaking.

Well chloroform is an acquired taste but it's delicious with fava beans and liver

*Laughs in just eating the DS and downing you again if the gates aren't open*
*laughs in the gate was open and moreover the hatch was nearby and the killer didnt notice because he was camping every survivor to death*
*laughs in i dont like to run unbreakable but if its whats needed to be spiteful and petty then hold my clown juice*

It is kinda weird that it doesn't work if you're the last survivor, but it also begs the question "what would it accomplish if you're the last survivor?". The answer is probably nothing.
@Crowman said:
Because the game is over at that point.
Just use Deliverance earlier when it'll hurt the killer's pressure.
Well have I got quite the story for you guys
I was hooked right next to an open gate, with all my teammates dead, with DS ready to activate and deliverance up. I got hooked, I got sacrificed, and then I spent the next hour crying in my bathtub because I forgot about the hook stage process for final survivors.
-
@AhoyWolf said:
Well, if it worked, it would have just wasted everyone's time, since the Killer would just picked you back up.
I wouldn't mind if it gave you bloodpoints when you cannot use it tho.
*laughs in DS*
-
There used to be a proximity to hooked survivor penalty for pipping, but I don't know if that's still a thing with the new ranking system. It was never that much of a punishment, though. Gradual bloodpoint penalties/deductions, MMR and ranking demotions, etc. all have been thrown around but even they don't too effective.
-
I remember a while ago that Spirit was supposed to kick up dust when she phase walked, but the Devs scrapped that in the PTB for whatever reason. They do it a lot of times, and I'm sure that there are even more ideas that get thrown out before announced.
-
I don't really get the problem with boons. I've gone against 57 (yes I counted) Mikaelas today, all with Circle of Healing, and really all I do is bring along thanatophobia and ruin and they're busy spending the entire match healing. Shadow Step is kind of annoying, though.

Look away, or just let the survivor mistime or misplace it. They aren't exactly easy to get.
Plus, they function exactly the same as firecrackers. You might have lagged or not looked up in time.

I think you're reading too deeply into ambiguous signs. Good easter eggs are not only supposed to be readily accessible, but also clear-cut and unambiguous. That S could stand for Salmonella and the next killer could be Chipotle, for all we know.

I didn't think it was possible for changes from PTB to live to make me this upset but oh my word does Trickster feel like ######### now, the decreased knives needed to down and the better addons are nice, so are the faster main event activation, but my issues include
- Why were the max number of knives decreased from 60 to 44? i don't you quite realise how much of a difference 16 less knives makes, but it makes a serious amount of difference, you can no longer down someone with knives then not have to reload because you have plenty left, you have to reload every single time you down a survivor, just imagine if Huntress just randomly lost 2 hatchets out of her max total, that's what it feels like
- The decreased laceration decay is stupid, one Sprint Burst and a wall is all you need to go down from 1 knife away from being injured to completely fine and healthy, Laceration is supposed to feel threatening last i checked, all i felt was "welp, time to hide behind a wall and wait 10 seconds" the first time i played against new Trickster
- The main event changes fixed exactly nothing, faster activation? cool, but what is the point of making it have a 30 second activation window? at that point just let us activate it whenever, there's no point to it, plus the knife requirement? that's stupid, one of Main Event's best uses was to finish someone off if you happened to miss your last few knives, can't do that anymore for some god awful reason
All in All, i am genuinely considering dropping Trickster, he doesn't feel fun anymore, i don't want to have to reload every 15 seconds because my knives ran out, i want to be able to chase someone, down them with knives, and move onto the next person i see, plus, the changes didn't even fix the issues survivors had with him, if anything the faster downing power and main event time just means the survivor is dead if they're in the open faster, what was even the point of half of these changes from live?
Here are my proposed changes to make Trickster fun again
- Revert the decreased knives, that was a ######### idiotic move BHVR, revert it
- Let Main Event be activated whenever and remove the carried knives requirement, but make it take longer to charge
- Make Laceration decay rapidly once you exit chase, but make it decay very slowly while in a chase
- They wanted to make Trickster less spamable. 60 knives is just unnecessary if you're using your knives economically, especially with the lower knife requirement to injure survivors.
- Laceration lasting for so long was unnecessary in the first place. If you're chasing for so long that the laceration meter begins to activate, you're doing something wrong and probably already lost the game.
- Main Event having a longer activation window is still an improvement over what it used to be. We take what we can get when it comes to BHVR (They were probably worried about it being possibly unfair if you could just hang onto it indefinitely until you found them in an area with no natural cover to be honest).

I really hate so much all of them. Map changes, survivor changes, they all are bad.
Just look what they did to Ace, Feng, Kate, Quentyn, Jake etc. They have all lost their personality.
Maps are worse. New Coldwind maps are nightmare. The Game is so bad. I hate new Badham maps. I can say more but i think i said enough. I just don't like this changes. Old versions were good already.
Survivors only look bad because we're used to the old ones. They kind of look like them, but not quite, so it comes off as offputting for no reason other than nostalgia. Same applies with the maps. Most of them are 100% graphical updates that just smoothed out textures or modernized to meet the original intent better.

It was pretty popular. Every single Spirit I went against used Stridor.
Most of the Spirits I go against have some assortment of meta perks like ruin and devour and the such. Plus, I made the mistake of prestiging my Spirit and now the bloodweb refuses to give me Stridor no matter how much damn money I throw at it.
-
It was like that because audio adjustments were done via addition. Iron Will reduces the sounds by 100% of the original volume, Stridor increased the sounds by 50% of the original volume (EG X-1.00X+.5X). If I had to guess the only reasons they changed it were because Bite the Bullet is (probably) multiplicative and Iron Will/Stridor was a very perk-against-perk relationship that people seem to hate.
-
Well it's a stretch to say that it's bad because it doesn't look like the old Dwight. Plus, a big dislike factor is probably us being used to the old Dwight and the new Dwight kind of falling into its uncanny valley.
-
To be completely honest, it's not like Stridor Spirit was that popular in the first place (in my experience).
-
The only license I want in DBD is Olivia Rodrigo's Driver's License so that the survivors now have to suffer with the same torment we have to suffer through on the radio.
(you think I'm kidding but I'm really not)
-
It really isn't. People calling for balance and corporate decisions in this market are pretty unrelated.

Honestly if they do what anni has been doing and make it so you earn like 100k BP or 80k BP per match that would fix SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH. Who would've thought that the game feels fun when I can finish a web or two with just one game and feel like I'm making actual progress instead of slogging along getting 20k a game as surv. The fact that BP grind is such a massive issue with such an easy fix that makes the game FUN and they refuse to address it is laughable.
I don't care about the bp grind I just want my precious BBQ and I can die happy

@Kees_T said:
Yes it it different, you don't share the same cable as he does.
There's a lot of thing which can interfere with the packet speed reaching the datacenter of your region where DBD is hosted. Like:
- Your hardware probably is not the same as your friend
- Your Windows isn't the same as your friends
- Your programms running in background are not the same
- The cable which provides network can be different
See? There's a lot of things which interfere, it's obvious your computer within your files, programs and hardware are not the same, we're talking about milliseconds here, they can variate too much because of any single thing I mentioned. Your ping wouldn't be the same even if both were connected to the same network.
I think what they're saying is that what their computer says their ping is and what their friend's computer says their ping is are different, not that their ping is different from their friend's ping.
-
Just cause it's balanced doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Wraith is a pretty well-balanced killer but everybody hates him because his counter is pallet camping. And I still haven't gotten my goddamn BBQ on Nemesis because the Devs refuse to feed needy and bloodpoint-starved little orphans like me.

I can in terms of strength Kappa
Raw strength is hard to measure too. It's entirely observational and relies on you conducting consistent experiments, and with game like DBD where one 2 second break to sneeze can cause you to lose the game, throw your monitor out of the window, and go to live in Japan with monkeys, it's hard to see any clear determination of strength. There's a reason people here explain the power of perks by rationalizing, not by "the proven efficacy of this perk demonstrated by *pedantic and stupid name* demonstrates that..."
-
I'm no computer scientist and I don't know how DBD determines ping but if your friend's' computer is pinging to your computer rather than asking the server what your ping is (which pings to the server), then you're looking at two different endpoints and thus two different pings.
Put simply your friend might be pinging your computer while you're pinging the server (if that's how DBD does things).
-
Filthy casual, just bring out a combination of pretentious pedantry and a salty rank 10 survivor's unfiltered spite for the ultimate argument-buster.
-
You're comparing apples to oranges. Coup and lethal have so few common threads that it's hard to meaningfully compare the two.
-

@Zozzy said:
Requires effort to use instead of just pressing a button for consistent and instant value.
Well you don't even have to put agency into it to get it to work. It works on the killer's volition.

@DBD78 said:
With a medkit it's more or less two free escapes, so better than DS. It's probably too good so many survivors thinks it is unfair. But I use this perk a lot it is pretty fun.
Iron Will, Lucky Break, Lithe, Dance With Me and a green medkit..fun stuff!
16 seconds to heal whittles it down to 44 seconds, during which you must break chase and heal uninterruptedly. The remnants of that are what you'll have left for the second activation. Of course, that is assuming that you're running a medkit, Iron Will III, manage to break LoS, and the killer can't just make an educated guess about where you went. So I'd assume it's more complex than just "two free escapes."

The game itself is flagrantly unhealthy.

It's hella annoying. It isn't particularly good (especially compared to other exhaustion perks), mind you, but it's tilting. Seeing a survivor in your reach manage to just slip out of your grasp is not a pretty sight, and it causes people to hate it for more than it's worth.
