if you have a specific good idea, by all means, share it. but it does not need to be added to all killers. or even most killers.
what is nurse doing if her blink is locked behind a charge bar? does it stay forever once unlocked?
I can see freddy getting more powerful the longer the trial goes for, but I don't have an idea for it beyond turning him into old freddy with extra stuff.

is it really nemesis if walls aren't destroyed by him walking into them?
I'm actually hoping they save that power for Jason Voorhees

Thrilling Tremors, Spies From The Shadows, Enduring, and Nemesis; Black Heart + Rat Liver.
No STBFL in this household.
Why Nemesis?
-
So if I kick a gen with Pop, does it lose 30% of its total progress PLUS 5% on top, or is it just the 30%?
-
I can't think of a single time where I kicked a specific gen more then 2-3 times in a game. 4 in the most extreme of circumstances
-
Bubba, Freddy, and Meyers should all is in the top tier. They are 3/4s of the mount rushmore of horror, with only Jason missing. Those three give DBD a great deal of legitimacy to the idea of this game being "The Hall of Fame of Horror." SO seeing Bubba in second to last tier is downright insulting

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. More then any other celebrity in human history, she would perfectly fit in Dead By Daylight

Do people really believe the game needs more killers on the level of Blight? I knew this specific forum was biased but my god.
More killers like addon-less blight? Um, yes. How is that even a question?
-
No. He's very much fine. Is he strong? Yes, very much so, but he's still a skill killer and has reasonable counter play. (seriously, The Blight HATES lockers. lol.) And quite frankly, this game needs more strong killers, not less
-
My money is on Elvira being the mid chapter survivor. Hear me now, quote me later

There has been a lot of discussion surrounding the role of Killer and whether or not it should or shouldn’t be the power role. On one hand you have these supposed Killer win streaks that frustrate people. On the other hand this game is a Killer power fantasy so a Killer bias is absolutely to be expected.
Therein lies the conundrum. How much power should the Killer have? Should the Killer be a threat, but not enough of a threat to lock one or more Survivors out of a game? Should the game go to a scoreboard type of game without eliminations? Wouldn’t that destroy what the game is about?
What about when Survivors are the power role? It does happen; is this an allowable prejudice? If the Killer is stronger then surely the Survivors should enjoy the spoils of their victory, sore winning and all.
However, the difficult truth is that Killers do not want Survivors to escape, and Survivors do not want Killers to kill. In a game that contains a Killer bias should it instead be a Survivor power fantasy with a Survivor bias? After all, (I say this sarcastically) why put the fun of one person above the fun of four?
The Survivors if playing correctly can beat the Killer. There exists a pathway to victory. This tells me that ultimately teamwork itself is the power role. The problem is that it is difficult to manifest the discipline required to achieve this teamwork. Impatience, selfishness, lack of awareness etc. get in the way of Survivor victory.
If the Killer bias of 60% kill rate were to go away, say down to 50% or lower, would DBD still be DBD? Personally I am of the mind that no it will not be. In my opinion the reward feedback loop of this game thrives on difficult escapes. There is an element of challenge in escape since it does not come easy. It keeps players coming back for more. When escape is achieved it feels highly rewarding. If escaping became easier I believe this whole game would unravel and deteriorate.
I get it, losing doesn’t feel good. When you as a Survivor know that you are better than the Killer as an individual it feels awful to lose to someone you know is below you in skill. It feels awful leveraging all of your skill for your team only for them to let you down and get you killed. But again, that is the nature of this asymmetrical team game. Anything different than this would change the game so drastically that it would be unrecognizable.
Should the Killer feel like the power role? Should the Survivor feel like the power role? If there should be no power role what would that look like? 50% escape rate? Would increasing escape rates cheapen the joy of escaping? Can this game survive if escaping felt blasé?
PS: This isn’t even getting into the idea of retaining the horror theme of the Killer being the main threat, which some individuals believe can be sustained even if Killers were to lose their 60% kill rate. Again I personally do not believe it can.
Should killer feel like the power role? Absolutely
Does killer feel like the power role? I mean, sometimes

They could also make some of the 'base game killers' perks better. Like Beast of Prey, Territorial Imperative, Bloodhound, or Unnerving Presence. At least one of those could be a gen regression perk so new players could have access to at least ONE gen slowdown perk

This isn’t sarcasm but that would be a cool mechanic to send out all 3 guards. With right balance they can turn that into a actual feature
Yeah, like make the cool down 20 seconds per guard summoned. YOu choose how strong your power is. But the stronger it is, the longer it takes to come back. The Artist works under this principle, so why not The Knight?
-
Wait, is Plaything bugged? Can we no longer see the aura of the totem?? That might explain why i never find it
-
What you describe is called proxy camping. It has always, and will always, be a part of the game. If you want the devs to buff the anti face camp mechanic to also include all kinds of proxy camping, What you're really asking for is for each unhook to allow the previously hooked survivor to gain a free reset. Not the chance for a free reset, but a free reset, full stop.
-
For it to count as facecamping, the killer has to be, at most, half a meter away from you facing you at all times. FACEcamping.

I agree. I got bored reading the AMA because all the questions were honestly so poor.
I've never really got the hype for OTZ. I don't watch him all that often, mainly for info on new chapters, but any time I've seen him have insight or input on the general quality of the game of how it should be i find them very hot takes and often one sided.
The reason Otz has "hype" and is one of the top 3 most respected DBD content creators out there is because of his overall attitude. He's one of the most positive content creators around and approaches every video from a "I want to help you" mentality. He never insults others, he always shows respect to ideas he disagrees with, and goes out of his way to make informative videos whenever a new chapter drops. And it doesn't hurt that he's both funny and very charming.
When you think of a positive voice in the DBD community, Otz is towards the top of the list, if not the very top.

The most recent changes to Hex: Ruin. (Regression brought down to a mere 100%, totem goes out when a survivor dies). These changes were completely uncalled for

When I play killer I play with a clear set of codex/rules:
- Everyone hangs once before anyone hangs twice
- No one hangs twice in a row unless it is hang nr. 4 and 5
- No one dies before everyone has been hanged twice
- Leave room for unhooks, don't knock down any individual going for the unhook
- I allow myself to knock down survivors just to buy time/keep survivors busy, but I don't hook them
- Any survivor that fails to unhook someone that could have been saved is off my codex, and becomes a target of me not necessarily playing nice. If one die then all die (quickly), unless they were not able to perform a unhooking at the time (like if they were in a dying states, as an example)
- If I survivors reach 2 gens left and my progress as a killer is bad then I allow myself to take the gloves off, and play more dirty, codex is pushed aside
- If I use a survivor to get another survivor, then the survivor I use gets to escape (like if there are three survivors left; one is hooked, one is hidden and the last is on the ground with me. The hidden one hides instead of going for the unhook. The hooked die on hook, I pick up the survivor on the ground near me, let him (or her) wiggle off, then I go find the one survivor that could have performed the unhook, kill that survivor, and then let the last survivor escape, because I kept him (or her) alive to get to the one that failed the unhook.)
- Probably a couple more points but I can't remember right now as I'm tired.
Usually when I play a survivor I feel that most of the killers I meet play without a mind, most killers just feels empty to go up against. I rarely meet killers that seems to have a plan going on, other than the huge amount of tunnellers and campers, there are a lot of those. (If that can even be called a plan. I just see it as a ######### low skill way to play the game. Lol.)
But yeah, are there any other killers our there with a "codex"? Or is it just me?
So basically, you intentionally handicap yourself?

but killers can't have increased hooking speed perks. Talking about double standards...
I'm joking but for real why can't we have Fire Up with increased hooking speed?
I'd much rather have a perk that increases the speed of picking survivors off the ground
-
I wouldn't mind SC being 50% again aslong as it was a fixed 50% with no way of being raised in any way shape or form
-
The perk should blind the survivor for 1.5 times the amount of time the killer is blinded. It would be a nice counter to flashlight saves. You can save your team mate, but at a cost

My biggest question is:
Why did they give trickster a yellow and green add on that buff the combo counter? All combo does is give more points. I get every killer gets that 1 meme add on for bp but why 2, and why uncommon and rare?
Wait, that’s what “combos” are?? Then his add ons were gutted even more than I thought!

When a killer's power is gutted, a 4.5% increase to movement speed isn't all that appealing for strength nor fun factor.
Trickster has -33% less damage, -33% throw rate, -25% effective ammo count, slower and shorter main event (for more frequency, yippee), and 33% faster laceration decay. +4.5% movement speed buff is not really compensating here, and if it were, it'd be a pretty boring compensation.
This comment hits the nail on the head. Trickster might as well not exist at this point

I refuse to believe that Kate isn't in the Top 4

I'm down for Ds going back to 5 seconds, but giving it two uses per game is overkill
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Ruin will back to 200% regression and it won't deactive after one survivor died.
DS will back to 5 seconds stun and it will work after both hooks. It will still deactive after all gens finished or conspicuous actions.
Would you take it?
I feel like it would be better for game's health. Ruin & Undying was fine combo. It gave reason to killers leave hooks and pressure on gens. And DS was nice protection for survivors whenever killers try to tunnel.
I'm down with bringing DS back to 5 seconds, but giving it two uses per game is overkill.

Like why? only significant nerf that comes to mind was the CD increase for missed attacks, which DID require a nerf.
What else we got though? the turrets no longer having like a second or two of immunity to dmg when emerging (god this was awful) and far, FAR better visual feedback on the tail attack that made it easier to use.
I played the cat quite a few times (And im not that great at him) And i dont feel like hes weak at all.
The cool down happens when you miss a tail attack AND when you successfully use the tail to destroy a turret. The first one was needed, the second one needs to go right now
-
Nope. A killer being playable in 3rd person is practically a power, in and of itself. And its a very powerful power at that. So it's probably for the best that this "power" stays exclusive to Chucky

Stranger Things pt.2 seems like a much bigger chance now and the likely candidate.
Predator was a strong possibility but I'm leaning more towards ST now. As mentioned above it'd be pretty weird to bring ST back right before a chapter release and have the killer not be related. It'd take massive hype away from the chapter while a pt.2 would only bring extra hype.
Saw pt.2 is still unlikely, the posts were almost certainly because of the movie.
I don't think it's FNAF. BHVR has never done a movie/Killer release in tandem. First time for everything I guess but still seems unlikely for this chapter.
Other Big L movies are Jason, IT, Candyman and Chucky which we have no reason to believe.
Indie wise there is Slender and Amnesia which again we have no reason to believe.
Bigger game wise there is RE pt.3 and maybe Fatal Frame? I'm not actually sure how popular that series is; only that there is a bunch of games. Again all unlikely.
I'm probably missing a few more big L's but that's most of the hot choices from memory.
My first guess now is ST pt.2 followed by Predator as my second choice. Everything else seems unlikely with what we know at least.
Now would be a good time to add FNAF because of the movie, but the best time would be for FNAF's tenth anniversary, which takes place next august. If we don't get FNAF in DBD then, then we simply never will

I remember when Hawkins was still a thing; it was, quite literally, the worst map that you could get (both as a survivor and as a killer). The loops are broken, some tiles have more pallets than they should, LoS blockers are everywhere, and the geometry of the map screws with most of the killer's powers, etc.
I understand that everyone is excited for Stranger Things to come back to the game, but how has this map not been reviewed before release? It's literally the same one that was removed, without a single change. I don't even think it would be that bad if it weren't for the fact that the spawn rate is increased, so it's all I've been playing lately.
I just hope this isn't a 'The Game' scenario where the devs pretend it isn't an issue for years
I adore Hawkins! Its the ultimate map fantasy for a stealth killer!

Some killers can basically "camp" by just using their power. I won't lie I think the anti-camp system is alright not perfect as killers are slowly finding the perfect counter aka just standing as far from the hook to where they can camp but not let the meter go up or be able to catch up. I found a simple solution for most if not all killers. If a killer is camping for a certain duration not like 2 seconds and boom no no way to unfair but for a least thirty seconds. Their power is disabled their power can no longer be used as long as they are staying near the hook. Because yes I get sometimes the killer will patrol just quickly checking the area reason why to have their power deactived would take a little more time to fully active. Is this a good idea...probably not but it's an idea.
It was never meant to stop all camping. It was ONLY meant to stop face camping. And it succeded
-
4 survivors with flashlights? I thrown on Lightborn is I see 2 flashlights. Losing a hook to a flashlight save can mean the difference between a good game and a bad game.
