All they needed to do was buff stealth points a little bit, they didn't need to change the Evader emblem too much.

    Although Lightbringer needed some adjusting.

    Did it ?
I used to have gold/Iri every rounds tbh.

Doesn't matter much as long as I get more survivors to kill at high ranks tbh.

Survivors are the ones that need to complain about these changes if they feel like it, since the matchmaking will allow to match them with survivors that aren't as good as the previous ones.

As a killer main, I don't mind that update at all.

I mean I didnt personally have an issue with Lightbringer other than the splittage of points when you coop a generator. I've mentioned in the past I have slight issues with Lightbringer, Benevolence, and Evader.

Perhaps this new system will be better for the general populace as well as high rank. They just to find a good medium, where high rank isn't a desert and low rank is congested, and one where high rank isn't plagued by low tier players and low rank is filled with pros and tryhards.

    We'll see.
In either case, I don't mind.
I actually liked the fact that the points were split for repairing as 2 people on gens, because I like the fact that survivors are kinda in "competition", as it is kinda the spirit of the base game (Having 4 cooperatives using each others to get to their goals).
I'd actually like Hexes to buff the one that destroys them for example, and debuff the others. Now that would be hilarious, but I'm not sure if people are ready for that.
    Just imagine :
    You break Hex : Ruin.
You get a 30% bonus in repair speed.
All 3 other survivors get a 10% malus.

it forces you to be sneaky when you destroy the totem so the killer won't tunnel you to get that advantage away.
It makes people to want to fight to break it, and actively look for it, rather than powering through simply.

Now that would be kinda fun. At least to me, but I guess it's debatable.

  • I love one of your suggestion tho :

    FOR ALL KILLERS:
If the killer camps, they will start losing Pip Points based on the amount of time they were facecamping or camping,
1 Pip Point for 10 seconds

So basically, if you hook someone in the basement, you gotta HURRY to get away. Like "QUICK, I NEED TO GTFO", and survivors could actually BLOCK you in the basement to make you to depip, as the hit to force them away would make you take more than 10seconds to get away from the hooked person.
    Now that sounds hilarious.
    I like it.

Make him visible at all times.

He would still be able to put survivors to sleep
    24 meter terror radius.
    Heartbeat sounds when not asleep.
Lullaby when asleep, non directional, without sound increase if he's close to make it harder to read.
Make Freddy to "Blink" and disappear sporadically from the survivor's prospective when in dream mode, especially if the survivor stays asleep for an extended period of time.
Remove his Aura reading ability out of heartbeat.

That would be my simple (but efficient, imo) rework for Freddy

If Freddy is visible outside his dreamworld, it would be very inconsistent, since he is a dream deamon. For me, it would be good enough that survivors cant do anything to totems/gens while in dream-transition.

    It's up to you.
Either you live with a little inconsistency (that could easily be fixed by making the whole map a dream world to start with), or you can leave him be weak and rather frustrating to play with (cannot even grab people on the ground/prevent heals on them, loops, cannot even camp) and against (cannot efficiently stealth, really hard not to get tunneled).

I don't mind tbh, I don't plan on playing Freddy in the current state, even with "light buffs".
He needs a rework, at least in my opinion that is.

I literally said that I was standing still next to it (not in the middle, but next to it) the option to throw it down was there, once I pressed spacebar it should have dropped, but it did not. The clip I posted shows it perfectly, he's on one side and tries to drop it and it doesn't drop. Whether it's a bug, poorly designed, not being able to throw it down if holding shift or whatever it should be fixed.

  • So far, I've been to level 8 or so.
Level 5 was like, 1700 xp or so, for 80 shards. Level 6 was 2100 XP, for 80 shards again.
So yeah, it seems like the more you play, the less you earn.

I think the max level is probably 100 (or 50 ? or 20 ?), then you possibly get a "Devotion" level. And start over at level 1. Not sure about that one tho.

It's whatever. Does blocking prevent you from grouping with or against them?

Blocking people on steam doesn't stop you from playing with them, nope.

Yes very much the case. Very mid tier. Very Pig like in a lot of ways. I'd say he's just below huntress or maybe equal.

I compare him more to the doctor, tho he doesn't have as much utility to find people and his ability is quite different. Doctor is more about getting the timing, and Clown is more about finding the proper area to nade, quickly.
    Definitely interesting tho.

  • From what I understand, before that patch, when you were getting hit, you had a very huge speed boost SPIKE, that was slowly decreasing.
Now it's gonna be a constant boost, which should help survivors not to run into walls due to the "hyper speed" you'd get as you'd get hit.

Nurse has HUGE rewards for being played right, since it's pretty much a nearly garanteed hit on a proper blink.
Does a properly placed bottle will give you a hit everytime ? I heavily doubt so. It sure will give you a strategic advantage, maybe an early pallet drop and such. But is it a solid tactic like the Nurse's ? Not really.

Imo he could use a few tweaks. It's PTB, giving him a few more buffs to see how it goes, and eventually revert if it goes too far, wouldn't be excessive imo.

Camping is also a legit strategy, and a necessary one, considering the recovering abilities of survivors that can get back to work under a very few seconds if left unchecked, leading to very one sided matches if you do not camp at times, unless the survivors are really slow and low ranks.

Looping is also a legit strategy, and a necessary one, considering that most survivors dont know how to hide

Its just sad, but I dont think that DBD will experience a major rework anytime, I had hopes for the 2.0 patch, but turned out that they forgot about mindgame pallets and sticked to the super safe ones instead

Looping is a legit reason to complain because it's quite unfun to be looped.
Looping isn't necessary to the game, as you can actually juke without looping in this game. And when I say juke, I mean juke effectively. Not throw all of the pallets randomly

You can bamboozle people before initiating a chase tho, or using cloaked Wraith, crouching pig, and such.

Don't forgot I'm in Europe guys, when it's midnight for you, it's 6 A.M+ for me, kek.

So I've watched the video and I'll be honest :
I didn't see anything wrong with it, except that the survivors did a lot of mistakes at the end of it, giving you a free win. I'm not sure about where your complaints are at, it seems like my everyday match at high ranks tbh (Except I do not commit that much to a single chase)

And yes, it's pretty stressful for the killer (sadly), but atm, that's how the game is designed and we're forced to deal with it if we wanna play.

I don't see much toxicity, just decent teamplay, decent repairs, and decent juking from that Feng that outplayed you a few times even tho she was pretty readable.
She did the usual thing most survivors do : She first plays greedy to see how you react, allowing you to, at some point (after several fails) get a free hit (that you could have got WAY earlier if you actually won the mindgames/had proper readings), and then, she played full safe not to risk to get caught and camped. She seemed very common to me, and would have totally deserved to be dropped since it's a clear case of a survivor wanting your attention in a strong spot of the map (the killer's shack).

You actually got pretty lucky this match to have been able to catch them due to their overaltruism (that Jake trying to heal around a Billy is a moron for example).

    Let's resume it :

    • You failed two easy chainsaw early game, even tho they didn't even move that much to dodge it.
    • Then, you dropped that Claudette after catching her, which is rather debatable, especially since it's around the shack, and a hook was actually very close. Even a stack of 3 bodyblockers wouldn't have stopped you. But anyway : it was your choice and it's possibly your playstyle, and I respect it. Slugging is a possible good strategy for Billy. Slugging around the shack with full pallets around is still very debatable tho.
    • Then, you tried to get a basement hook, which was obviously not gonna happen, since getting someone in the basement is already a 30%+ wiggle time awarded to the survivor, and you gave her 33% already with that drop.
    • Then, you overcommited to Feng. You failed quite a bit there, I have to say. At some point, she started playing very safe with pallets, because she knew she could afford it, as her team was skyrocking ahead in term of gens, and you were fully going for her. She ran into gen empty areas on purpose (it was very visible) and emptied the pallets of these areas.
    • Then, you (finally) caught her. And the other survivors went fullstupid and suicided on you, even tho you (STILL) failed a lot of chainsaw rushes that was very affordable.
    • The disconnections are not an issue, it's PTB and the game was over. Move on to the next match.

I'm not sure where the complaints are at.
You missed a few clutch moments in your match, allowing them to get ahead of you, and they did several mistakes that made you to catch up.

That (long) chase with Feng is possibly the most debatable moment, but she actually read through you and even afforded to get a free hit just to try to be cocky.

    Arguable points :
Yes, the gens are repaired super quickly, and yes, a single survivor can keep you busy for quite a while, tho it was partly due to your own mistakes and choices in here.

I love you man, but I can't support you on that one, even tho you can see that the survivors are kind of in control of the game if they don't fail (and they failed a lot this match).
Survivors weren't toxic, they were just random bodyblockers and obviously over-altruistic (like most survivors). No teabagging, nothing too cocky (except that extra loop she tried on you and earned her a hit), no flashlight spam, no syringue spam, no emote spams, and not even that much looping tbh. At least compared to the rounds I usually play at high ranks, that was NOTHING.

    Cheers.

Oh trust me, I'm fully aware of the mistakes I made. That's what 2 months out of practice gets you. I respect the opinion.

However, I see you are becoming complacent in how the game is, you mention this is typical for high rank for you. That's a serious problem. I'm not one to ever become complacent in this kind of nonsense. You've just "accepted" it

I will never willingly accept such absurdly one-sided tomfoolery.

    Oh, I didn't accept it.
I just see no point into complaining/camping survivors because of it tho. I've tried that, it leads to nothing. The game is rather survivor sided, clearly, in my eyes, and I just treat it very casually since going the hard way never did any good anyway.

I'm still a try-harder when I play most of the time (except on the PTB where I let ppl go), and I can see where some unbalances are, but most serious discussions are shut down on this game. People just want to have a fun and casual experience and whenever you try to actually try to get mecanics polished and such, a lot of people just drop the discussion and go to the next bait of "Clown OP" or "Plz nerf camping".
It has been a thing since day 1, sadly, and it didn't change much.

What I see is : things are (very slowly) getting better for killers, which is a decent thing, and I don't consider that stressing myself out anymore is worth the time. I come around and discuss, give my opinion, knowing the unbalance will very likely not change before at least SEVERAL MONTHS since that's the pace of updates in this game. In that sense, I indeed "accepted it". It's not actually accepting it, it's just that it's either that, or not playing the game at all since this game has gave up on his try-harding aspect and went full on the casual experience, leaving people like me behind (and mostly, on other games that are actually polished. Can't wait to play Monster Hunter and such for example. And I highly suggest games such as Dead Cells for example, that are both fun and "challenging")

No teabagging, nothing too cocky (except that extra loop she tried on you and earned her a hit), no flashlight spam, no syringue spam, no emote spams, and not even that much looping tbh. At least compared to the rounds I usually play at high ranks, that was NOTHING.

    Cheers.

    Didn't play enough to check.
The main spot to check would be the hills and such, to see if totems can still spawn there.
The hills and the middle of the Asylum fields are possibly one of the worst spawns for totems, along with 3 meters away (in plain view) of a generator.

They do still spawn on hills.

Welp, I'll report it to Horvath then, and ask him what they changed exactly.
He will probably come around today on discord, he tends to get involved a lot more since the feedback from PTB is required.

Wow, thanks for the input. :):+1:

Sadly, there's not much to tell tho
I tried to get infos from him for a while, we discussed about an extra- add-on slot with some restrictions and such, but after discussion, it didn't prove quite interesting.
I think they don't have any "definitive" idea about it yet.

Aww man, that actually sounds very interesting to me, the extra Add-on slot.

Well, that could lead to a lot of trouble, especially with Myers and insta-kill add-ons and such.
I suggested something like : make it so you could get a 3rd add-on slot, but do not make them STACK anymore.
So you could basically do a Billy with : Anti heal, High steering and moderate charge/cooldown for example with Begrimed, Moonshine and Carburetor.
But some add-ons combos could prove too strong and problematic, sadly, especially with Huntress and such.

  • There's two simple factor, too :
Ranking up isn't THAT beneficial. It gets you matched with/against better survivors, which leads to better matches overall (at least in my experience, even tho some survivors may be more cocky at high ranks), but it considerably slows down the matchmaking in the process sadly, for very few rewards (only the achievement for the first time you reach rank 1).

As long as this is the case, I'd suggest everyone not to stress it out, as ranking up isn't quite worth it anyway.

That being said, survivors say the emblems are now easier on the PTB, which is a decent addition if it can fix the high ranks queues. Personally, I prefer to play more consistently and not to have a 30mins queue, rather than to have a long queue for a slightly better match, so it should be better for now.

Does it happen often where survivors and killers work together? The last game my friend and I were in, one of the survivors lead the killer to the others. Just wondering if this is a common occurrence.

    It's not very common.
    But it happens.

It's bannable if the killer and survivor do it on purpose and planned to do so, like using coms/being friends on steam/purposely sandbagging survivors one by one on the hook with the killer hitting as soon as you drop, or if he keeps pointing the people's direction to direct the killer without getting killed.

Getting "killed" by a teammate tho, isn't reportable. A survivor can show where you are eventually, once, or lead the killer to you to get you killed on purpose, it doesn't make it "cooperating with the killer" if he's also a target for him.

So yeah, it needs a video to be sure, and the mods appreciation will do to rest.

Nurse is playable on most maps, but you cannot blink in a few maps (including Wretched shop).
Bug has been reported to devs and they're aware of that fact.

That big Macmillan map (I still haven't learned all the map names) is terrible with her, as well as swamp, swamp gives me a great anguish.

If you have the names and a few video proofs, that would be nice to have.
The bug I'm talking about on Wretched shop is not a simple "annoyance" tho
She basiclaly CANNOT blink AT ALL on this map. She stays in place when she tries, even at full charge, because the map is considered a dead zone.
If you have any footage of similar things happening, don't hesitate to show it. It may prevent her to have such bugs next patch

  • BP for money could actually manage to kill this game.
