On the rank you are, it isnt as hard as some people may lead you to think. You just have to be a quite entertaining killer. I caught a huntress trying to get adept recently that camped each hook. She obviously wouldnt get the adept achievement like that.
-
With that amount of time, GF would be able to cheese out of detection too easily and make it impossible to detect him prior to one shotting the survivor I think.

He ment "baby" as in "new". As for the rest of this nonsense, if you want a good character, grind or GTFO. This is the same lazy crap I see in literally EVERY THREAD. You're playing a game ment to be difficult. The devs aren't here to hold your hand.
They kind of are in this one when it affects the time and motivation that a person spends in the game.
-
Although some people try to say that Ghostface is the new Freddy, Freddy has long lost his throne to Legion. I only see one benefit from his ability which is to get a first hit, and even that might prove impossible versus a skilled survivor that knows how to loop him. You are better off just use M1 the majority of the game really.

Let's compare with the WCS we had before the Bloodweb rework (which happened in-between Chapters II and III).
We had 5 Killers and 6 Survivors at that time, which adds 33 (15+18) Teachable Perks to 25 (11+14) regular Perks at that time.
For Survivors, this amounted to a total of 32 Perks or 96 Perk Tiers.
For Killers, this amounted to a total of 26 Perks or 78 Perk Tiers.
So in order to get every single Perk on a Character with the original Bloodweb, you had to level your Killer 78 and your Survivor 96 times, and from level 30 onwards, the Bloodweb filled every single node (30 nodes total).
Assuming that the Entity ate on average about a third of a Bloodweb, that still left you with a Bloodweb that would cost about 116,000 Bloodpoints to complete from level 30 onwards.
"Funnily" enough, with the changes the devs made to it, the grind remained the same for up to level 30, comparing the old and the new Bloodweb, about 1 Million.
Oh, and don't forget to add 3 maxed Bloodwebs to also get the Teachables unlocked first.
All in all, it cost you approximately 7 Million Bloodpoints to get all Perks to Tier III on a Killer and approximately 9 Million Bloodpoints to do so on a Survivor, totalling up to a staggering 89 Million Bloodpoints in order to max out every single Character back then.
Nowadays, the average high-level Bloodweb costs about 50-70k Bloodpoints, so let's take 60k as the average.
We have 16 Killers and 17 Survivors, 60 Killer Perks and 65 Survivor Perks.
Adjusting the calculations accordingly, we get the following results:
Cost to max a Killer: ~10 Million
Cost to max a Survivor: ~11 Million
Cost to max all Characters: ~347 Million Bloodpoints.
All in all, the grind has gotten worse by now, because it's already been more than 1.5 years since the devs last adjusted the Bloodweb economy (happened with 1.8.2). Originally, the grind was greatly reduced, but way too much content has been added since then.
Yes, this disregards Blood Hunts (which we didn't have originally), Events, BBQ and WGLF, but those should not be fixes to this problem anyways.
Thank you for adding the numbers @DocOctober. I believe it was also from your post that I took the quote from Peanits.
EDIT: My bad, it was another person with the same avatar.

You think the grind is insane NOW?
Oh man, you have it easy now, friend. Drive a DeLorean back to 2016, and tell me how "hard" it is now. It's so funny when you baby players comp
And no, they won't sell bloodpoints. That would be pay to win.
I'm not going to compare with 2016 since it does not seem relevant for this discussion. Was the grinding in 2016 too much? Probably. Right now, it still is and it is getting worse with every update with the addition of new perks. That is why there are more calls for there to be a rework of the current mechanism around the bloodweb. In terms of new players, which every game should aim towards, this is a big obstacle that must be surpassed in order to pull you into playing it regularly.

I mean, the devs can see that nobody plays Plague, so they're gonna change her soon I guess.
Clown is a good Chaser but not a very good gen protector. I use Ruin with the new Pop goes the Weasel and I think he can be a dangerous Killer with those Perks.
My personal build would be:
- Hex: Ruin
- Hex: Haunted Ground
- Surveillance
- Pop goes the Weasel
He doesn't really need anti loop Perks since his whole power is an anti loop. Use the right addons and you'll win with this build.
Last time I heard the devs talking about her in this forum they said that the Plague was getting the highest amount of kills per game out of every other killer. Not so sure they will change her any time soon.

@FrenziedRoach said:
Before you discount my idea entirely, you need to keep in mind we started this game with 4 killers and 4 survivors. The perk pool has grown considerably since those days.
I don't think it's out of the question to drop it that much, especially considering that the first drop they did for us in the bloodwebs reduced the cost per node AND reduced the number of nodes that could spawn.
Our bloodwebs used to fill every single node at 50 and we would spend as much as 10k for the stuff on the outer edge.
Every extra survivor and killer is 9 more levels of grinding that has to be done. While that's not bad for people like me who are only a couple chapters behind, that's crazy insane for anybody who's coming to this late when you stop and consider how many killers and survivors we have.
In B4 they start selling us bloodpoints/perks for Auric Cells - calling it now.
I doubt they will sell perks for Auric Cells. Bloodpoints for Auric Cells have been requested several times and they refused to do so, so I also don't believe we will see that happening. I'm just excited to see what they will come up with as long as it reduces this insane amount of grinding. I want to try new builds and so, but I lose motivation as soon as I see how much I have to invest in each character to get the needed perks (I have all teachables unlocked for killer).

We definitely are. We've been keeping track of all the feedback surrounding the grind for a while now and I am happy to say that we are actively looking into it at this point.
Peanits confirmed in another forum post that they are actively looking into it.

This is so ridiculous. Why are so many people here pointing out his mistakes (even when he played pretty well) which he did ofc but not that game lasted for 7 minutes ? That's so incredibly short.
This is pretty good example of the problem with how gens are done too fast when survivors don't fool around. 1 mistakes can cost you the game as killer. Survivor does 10 of them and still has more then decent chance to win but yes let's rather blame killer for not beiing good enough since that's definitely the case.
Fairly good point.

Yes, cutting the grind in half will only make it worse.

Only if you P3, you could stay at P1 and get all the perks really quickly, the grind shouldn't be made so easy it takes you two days to get the perks.
I think cutting the grind in half should be the route, not making it mind numbingly easy to max because people are too lazy.
I have to say that I also don't think that the way you are suggesting would solve the issue, just add to it.
-
@Keene_Kills said:
Preach. I only have 2 killers I've P3'ed solely because of this. With the curse of crappy RNG putting worthwhile perks near the level 50 mark, rendering the individual character pretty much unplayable in order to use up those offerings and add-ons before losing them completely with a prestige, it makes you second guess the necessity of those bloody cosmetics. Just not worth it right now.
All BP events do is bring out the worst in folks and make you hate the game temporarily, so they're not worth the boon. Throwing BP boosts at the problem isn't an answer; it's a Dollar General brand Band-Aid.
Sounds like the devs realize how bad it currently is, so hoping something is figured out fairly soon. Until then, I'll continue passing on any prestiges as they're a crappy paycheck for it being a full-time job to earn them.
I've been spending all my BPs from this event on Wraith and Im still midway through the third page and I havent maxed all perks, nor have I prestiged him due to how crazy this is. I feel your pain a lot.
-
I hope the devs are aware of this issue. I'll leave a reference here just in case @Peanits
-
Indeed. Any chnge to it is more than welcome really.

@paint1210 said:
No, it will let the game die faster from now because everyone can easily get the perk (such as BBQ, hex:ruin, DS,BT and so on)
They will also only buy good addon, so everytime the killer will use ultra rate add on and same goes to survivor
I'm sure a lot of people have ultra addons available and choose not to use them. Besides, what you are saying is that there are meta perks around. I'm not sure about most players, but I like to rotate my builds around for either farming or more fun. If you are afraid of a killer using the best addons at every game, bring the best items and corresponding add-ons for survivors, also available at the store following the logic of the proposal made.
-
The way I see it, survivors have more incentive to actually fight the time restrictions to avoid being in that situation. Otherwise, just a matter of time until you have your back against the wall.
-
I really hope they focus on something like this soon enough.
-
I would be happy with anything that makes the grind in this game any lower. It is currently scary to see how much you need to invest in any single character.
-
Yeah, same here. The ones that are not GF seem to DC as soon as two gen get repaired.

@prof_teabagger said:
Also to OP: that's why you should always participate in the PTB and if not possible you should wait at least one week and watch gameplay on YouTube. Now you wasted 5$ for a killer you don't like playing.
That's why you should always wait for the promotion on the DLC, since by then the killer will have been changed as much as BHVR wants.
PS: #NeverForgetLegion
-
It has been working well on my end. I also use BT.
-
I have to agree with @AetherBytes. Even though the bloodweb must be made easier to go through, this will feel like a terrible grind for good addons for killers.
-
I really hope they address this issue. It makes impossible for new players to actually feel engaged with the game when they see how much they have to invest to get anywhere. I tried with this event to unlock BBQ on Wraith. I have three pages of perks and no BBQ (I've unlocked all killers teachables). I feel like I've wasted my time grinding for it within this event. I can't imagine myself doing this for the remaining killers that I enjoy...
-
You CANNOT grab a healthy survivor during a vault, whether of a window or of a pallet. You can only grab healthy survivors who are working on gens, opening an exit gate, unhooking another survivor, or cleansing a totem.
I'm pretty sure they tried enabling this in a previous PTB but eventually removed it because it was too strong.

@anarchy753 said:
Hiding it in the store is still ######### for new players. There's very little indication that something that important even exists.
That could be resolved if the game had a proper tutorial for newcomers about everything.

Plague is so toxic that not even our internet connection can stand its power xD
-
I believe it is expected to be implemented by August 2019.
-
As far as I can tell, it is not my connection either.
-
Since I don't see any mention of this within any other reply... The fact that Bloodhunt is happening + killers get more BPs = more killers, which will lead to longer queues.
-
Although this sounds super fun, I believe this would destroy the game on lower ranks while higher ranks would still realise what was going on. The meta ruin would still be needed.
-
The EGC actually brings some pressure into survivors to not end up in that situation. It is more killer sided than survivor, but it makes sense that way. You and your team failed. You just need a small chance of survival and hold to that hope.
As someone mentioned, the RNG on the exit gates should be improved. If they spawn next to each other, there is no chance at all.
-
In some games, they tried to gove some characters an outline colour to make ot easier to detect them. If what troubles most Claudettes is just fashion and not invisibility, then that would be a easy fix. The outline strength could be worked out.
-
I like some of these suggestions but I still think that what is mostly necessary is for his power to actually do something to injured survivors. As it is, regardless of the remaining of his flaws, his power is completely useless on a chase. Not even useful for mind games. You can find a group of survivors on a gen, hit them all with your power and they will still stay in the gen to finish it because you can't do anything to them anyway while in Feral Frenzy.

@not_Queen @Peanits This is kind of ridiculous, considering there is an event going on.
This isn't someone intentionally hitting the "Leave Match" button. This is the game booting people while running/fixing gens/getting downed basically happening for no reason.
I ask that you guys please look into this, as many are reporting it as normal DCs. I've confirmed it isn't when I've played against/with people streaming the game.
I see. Today was the first time it started happening to me. I wasn't aware it had been around since Plague came out. Thank you for the heads up and for the tags on the community managers.

Yeah, same (as survivor), I don't see why these killers would be DCing, I guess the system is having some issues?
Mind you, I get a message saying that the host DCed.

I have the same issue. I never understand protection hits since they seem bugged.

Well not to derail into a lore conversation, but survivors are probably not average humans either and a touch supernatural themselves. They fall from great heights without injury, get impaled/stabbed/bludgeoned then heal quickly, are murdered dozens if not hundreds of times yet keep coming back. They are prisoners in a realm where the physical laws of real world obviously are distorted or flat out don't apply. I'm just not a fan of applying the 'realism' or 'irl' argument to this game, especially vaulting.
Gotcha, fair point ^^

IRL. I don't man, let's get some huge dude with a revved up chainsaw coming at you and let us know how fast you can make it over a pallet or through a window from any angle. I bet it would be pretty fast.
I mean, survivors represent an average human. Killers are supernatural beings. I don't think this comparison can be made. Seems to me that this is just a step towards a different style of looping that BHVR wants to promote.
-
The main issue is the current bloodweb. We have far too much RNG coupled with a huge amount of perks available. The shrine as it is still serves its original purpose in my opinion.

Legion has 115% movement speed, so they can catch up to survivors by using Feral and makes the game rather "unfun". But seriously, the devs didn't want you to have the ability to injure someone, catch up quickly, and then corner them with the 3 seconds cooldown or less with add-ons. Yeah, it sucks, but it prevents exploits. Having the normal stun would be like Nurse having 115% speed. Blink, fatigue, profit.
I would understand this reasoning, but at maximum make it last as long as a pallet drop. You have to wait for the power to charge (20 seconds) and then have 10 seconds for looping, get close to the survivor with it active and without him having a window or pallet nearby (x seconds), and then wait 4 seconds on an exhaust or get hit by a pallet with enduring for you to quickly get back on chase, because his power on an injured player does nothing. Seems like the cons on his power just push him to a M1 chase nevertheless. Not counting with the fact that a body blocker will remove 50% of his power if you hit him.
-
At least No Mither may be used together with some other perks to speed up your actions. Monstrous Shrine is just... There for the looks.
-
To be fair, I've seen some streamers actually promoting this. Seems pretty try hard to me. Closing the hatch already lowers a survivor's survival chance by a lot and game at least will go faster. No need for standoffs.
Edit: thought I read killer camping on hatch. That is just sad what you said xD

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/68143/enduring-on-legion
Enduring is great for legion because of how long the stun in FF is. What i try to do is hit them once with FF and then try to bait them into dropping a pallet on me because the pallet stun overrides the FF stun and with enduring, you recover almost instantly.
I would like to know who decided that a 4 secs fatigue was a good idea. Nurse only has 2 xD

So let me see if i get it you chose to give us stats that are wrong, incorrect and give a false idea about the balance of the game instead of giving us stats that are correct or match the idea of your game ( 4v1). So why don't you give us the % of kills that killer get per game and rank of how many DC we have per month and rank?
P.S. Don't you say again that you balance the game around the stats you collect because even that is false. @Peanits
I have to admit that I'm quite curious with kill rates per killer as well. I feel like this would give a far more proper depiction of the game.
