Please explain how would they do that, I am intrigued to know
I wasn't on the ptb so I don't know the full thing but apparently you can go to the hooked person use reassurance, it's active and then goes away and then another person comes and uses reassurance, rise, repeat. That's what I've heard at least. While that won't be common, it would cause situations of 3 man swf's keeping that 1 guy stuck essentially for a long time.
-
Yes just campers, not people concerned about the ability to hold the hooked survivor hostage, it has to be only campers.

You aren't entitled to a free kill in the endgame. Endgame is the result of survivors finishing their objective. If they make it to that point and you haven't a secured a kill, it is 100% a skill issue. Rancor exists, NOED exists, Blood Warden exists, No Way Out exists. The tools are there, it's up to the individual to make use of them.
Your objective as the killer is to prevent the survivors from completing their objective by sacrificing them. The survivors objective is to avoid being sacrificed while repairing generators to power the gates that allow them to escape.
I'm not sayin you should be guranteed a kill during endgame, I'm saying why shouldn't you get a chance of getting a kill during endgame. If you don't even get a chance of getting a kill during endgame then there is literally no reason for endgame to exist.

I'd argue that the 10% is more than fair vs Trickster and Huntress considering they're able to hit from range and Trickster especially is notoriously the second best camper in the game, behind Bubba. because of how easily he can shred through health states when he's wound up his throwing speed.
Yes but BT has endurance which would give the survivors a boost if they used their knives/hatchet. This isn't including survivors can bodyblock for their teammates. Maybe Trickster can do something about that but huntress definitely can't.
-
Oh yeah I forgot about that! I hope Oni gets one. I'm really curious how his rage mode would look with the blight.

If BHVR can change things around so the optimal playstyle is spreading hooks all over so the survivors are on death hook in endgame I'm all for it
I like that idea but I don't know how you would incentive and make it so that spreading hooks is better.
-
For me I don't like the idea of the extended BT and Haste cause there is literally nothing you can do about it in some situations, which is similar to old DS. However I also don't like the idea of getting a guranteed kill during endgame cause the bt time/haste isn't good enough. What I want is a middle ground but finding that middle ground is difficult. Since 10 seems too much and 5 is too little why not try 7 or 8 secs? Also that 10% seems kinda unfair against Trickster and Huntress.

This reminds me of something someone once said: Survivors haven't earned their escape until they've actually escaped. The same is true of killers.
If you haven't secured a kill by the EGC and the survivors go out of their way to get that 4E and succeed, it means you got outplayed. Just as survivors are not guaranteed escape, killers are not guaranteed kills.
Why does endgame exist if you aren't suppose to be able to get a kill during it?

The solution to that is to buff Trapper and any other weaker Killer; not nerf basekit BT.
How would you buff killers in a way that they can do something about endgame unhooks though? I'm all for buffing the weaker killers but I don't even think Pyramid Head, Blight, and depending on the map, nurse can even do anything about it.

what?
why did you bring trapper at all then?
we were talking about game changes that were needed and you didn't like them and used the example of a struggling trapper that went into the end game with 3 survivors alive on cowshed, making it seem like that's how most games end up. You just don't wanna accept that you might be wrong.
I said it was an example and then I asked how many more examples did you want and then you proceeded to say I am a mono trapper main.

Wesker definitely needed those changes because of how buggy he was and I acknowledge that Reassurance could hold a hooked survivor hostage essentially, but if the devs were survivor sided like OP says then those issues would’ve been ignored. Just like they wouldn’t buff basekit BT if they were killer sided.
I don' think they would have been ignored if they were survivor sided cause reassurance, like you said, could hold a survivor hostage. and wesker was janky for both sided, not just killer. I wish people stopped with the whole your killer sided, survivor sided thing though. It makes it impossible to have a conversation.
-
@VoidOfMe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3147529#Comment_3147529
so you basically play trapper, that's your only killer and you think the game should be balanced around trapper
I got it, no more examples needed.
Ok so you never actually wanted an actual conversation. Got it.

Devs gutted DS, OTR at the endgame. 5 secs of BT at the endgame is literally nothing.
No one complaint about pre nerf DS and they changed it anyway. Imagine if you had to deal with that also.
People definitely complained about pre nerf DS. I thought it was only stupid for endgame cause it was literally a free escape but the stun I don't understand why they nerfed it at all. Also what does me having to deal with the ds nerf have to do with anything?

you only play trapper in cowshed?
How many examples do you want?
-
@DoritoHead said:
They killed Reassurance and buffed Wesker but guys, they actually added an effective measure to prevent tunneling! They MUST be survivor sided!
While I agree that the devs aren't survivor sided, I feel like these examples aren't really good cause reassurance was kinda dumb since you can keep the hooked survivor on there for a long time and wesker had very janky interactions.

@VoidOfMe said:

wait, so most of your games end up with the gates open and 3 survivors alive?
how does that change anything I said? The problem is still with your gameplay, just go check some streamers or something, they're doing pretty good with this patch, the devs even said that in their numbers this change was NEEDED.
So something doesn't add up, either everyone else is an exception or you should get better?
Do you think you can get at least 2 kills before endgame on fractured cowshed with trapper?

Nothing is guaranteed, why killers think they're entitled to kill survivors at the endgame, I don't get it.
I'm not saying that killers should get kills at endgame, I'm saying why should survivors be entitled to an escape at endgame. It's literally the same thing just on the other side.

How about GOING AFTER THE UNHOOKER
And if there is 3 survivors and 1 is hooked then what? You can't get the unhooker cause they can just run after getting hit and the other survivor can just unhook, still be healthy to bodyblock and the unhooked is 10% faster. The only way you can go for the first person if the hooked person is far from the exit gate. This isn't even including exhaustion perks.
-
@VoidOfMe said:

dude, if all your games as killer end up with the exit gate open and 4 survivors still alive, the problem isn't the BT, or the gates, or the haste effect.
Who said all 4? Just 3 survivors is enough. If you think you can get 2 kills before endgame as some of the weaker killers then idk what to say.
-

If BT doesn’t work at endgame than it gives the killer a guaranteed kill. How is that fair?
How is it fair to give a free escape? I get the argument for survivor but it's not like the killer shouldn't get a chance during endgame, otherwise the game would end after the last gen.

Does basekit BT apply during end-game? It shouldn't. I would also agree it shouldn't apply to basement unhooks - survivors messed up going down close enough to get hooked there. Every other scenario is perfectly fine.
It does. I disagree with the basement idea cause there isn't much you can do against agitation, iron grasps, mad grit builds then.

sit in a corner in basement. survivors won, they dcd the prerequisite amount of times for the devs to make unnecessary changes
I don't think the DC's were the reasons why but 10 seconds and 10% haste is definitely too much.

Alexa set the timer to 10 seconds.
I don't get it. Wait 10 seconds and do what. They move at 10% increase as well your not gonna catch them unless your not near the exit gate and if there is nobody body blocking.

ORRRRRRRRR.
Down the unhooker instead?!
Stop tunneling.
Yes when the exit gate isn't that far and there is 2 survivors around the hooked, one which can fake the unhook and get hit and run away while the other can unhook and body block the unhooked. Good idea.
-
So what do you do during endgame now?
-
Hunk
-
Yes. His tentacle isn't good enough to be his only power. I kinda wish his power was different all together though.
-
I'm definitely gonna get wesker. I don't know about rebecca or ada.
-
Even for players who played the game for a while, it's still pretty bad. I don't know why they thought not raising bp gain was a good idea.
-
It's good. It's not stupidly strong anymore.
-
It's a bit annoying for endgame cause it just prolongs the match for way to long.
-
I mean yeah that would work but also, why are you near a nurse if you know she has starstruck.
-
I think he'll be more interesting then nemesis but I don't know if he'll be better which is a bit worrying.

Thanatophobia only really had a problem around Legion and Plague, that issue still remains. Killers that are smart enough wont simply injure someone that they know have gift of pain unless they are bodyblocking, at which point they can switch targets and push you out quicker.
DMS+Pop isnt the issue, its Pain Res+DMS+Pop. Pain Res isnt really countered, because all it takes is a scourge hook. You dont know where a scourge hook is by "being good at the game". You can at best avoid one commonly used scourge, but that still leaves 3 more.
And how do you counter pop by being good at the game? Sitting on a gen?
You might be like "yeah, but hooking can be avoided by being good at the game", not really. The game is literally designed for the killer to gain hooks. You cant loop a killer forever. You cant communicate in-game with teammates. You cant always predict what orientation loops have, and you dont know where scourges are unless you run Saboteur(which isnt a skill), or if a killer hooked you on a scourge hook and you notice the result.
Getting downed or hooked isnt really a skill issue, its part of the game and happens to even the best survivors. A hit can happen because you mindgamed, but the killer mindgamed themselves. A hit can happen through slight desync. A hit can happen because a killer approached you from an angle you had no clear vision off and you dont have comms with teammates for call-outs.
If this game made every game equal to 4 man SWF, yeah, sure, you can argue its a skill issue, but thats not the case. And with devs refusing to make survivor auras be shown to other survivors as basekit(even though knowing where teammates are is crucial to close the gap between SWF and solo), you need to combat things that are only really powerful because there is a lack of information.
So yeah, either buff survivor information heavily, or nerf the perks that only work because of a lack of survivor information.
I mean if you know they have pain resonance, maybe don't hold m1 and wait ti'll after they hook so you don't get dms to activate? Also pop isn't good anymore.
-
I'm sure they'll release more boon perks. The problem is that it's kinda hard to balance boons.
-
I definitely wasn't thinking the nurse should be reworked. Only really her addon's and maybe her blink attacks.
-
A bit yeah. For me the amount of bp gain is kinda making not want to play cause it's so depressing to look at.
-
The grind is so slow now. I honestly forgot how bad it was without bbq.
-
Well that can be abused by swf's. If there was a way for killers to get the 4th without having to slug I'm pretty sure those killers would.
-
While I understand why dc suck as survivor, there are cheaters who ddos the killer so they get a dc penalty. Not sure about you but I don't like having a penalty for not dcing.
-
Thanataphobia kinda makes sense as it does fix the issue of plague and legion being able to maximize it's use but it kinda is completely useless on every other killer now.
The Pain Resonance change is weird cause it just seems like bad coding. Either that or they saw how much pain resonance usage dropped and wanted it to still be used.
Mettle of Man is odd. It seems better in the builds people use it for but worse for normal gameplay.
-
I play on the switch. We don't have cheaters if we have crossplay off but the queue time is ridiculously long so I have crossplay on. As for the performance....
It's really, really, really bad. The game looks ugly and runs terribly. While I understand that it is the switch and the switch is very cheaply made cause, nintendo, it shouldn't be having this hard of a time to run. I played games that should be running worse than dbd like apex or fortnite but the performance is better and looks better (For the most part).
-
It's not overtuned. Before it was kinda of a waste of a slot. Did you get value out of it? Yeah pretty much all the time. But is it worth a perk slot? No. Now it's ok but It feels kinda badly designed cause why would you want to stack info perks.
-
@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

I am not always running MoM but i loved to use some builds around it. Now perk is useless. Because if i wanna keep effect, i have to be useless. Terrible change.
Legion can keep everyone injured very easily if they have right add-ons. It did not fix problem with Legion at all.
So give power to Plague or deal with 110 seconds generators. This does not look healthy to me and Thana is still busted on her. And ofcourse Thana is only one perk, they will bring 3 more perks for slowdown and they will stack ofcourse.
Both killers still can make game +20 minutes, this patch did not fix issue with them.
What addons for legion keeps everyone injured? I don't know but I think thanataphobia is definitely worse for legion now. Which makes it really only a perk plague can use cause it forces someone to cleanse.
-
Thanataphobia wasn't ok for most killers it was bad on most killers. Now it's still bad on most killers but it is easier to deal with. With plague you just need 1 person to cleanse and you only get a 6% slowdown, with legion you only have to have one person healed. I would say this change make thanataphobia kinda useless on everyone except plague.
-
Kinda what happens when most killers aren't that good. I will say that nurse needs to get her addons changed though.
