Quick message menu/wheel is the way to go if we arent adding normal Voicechat.
Any UI / Aura related additions will just benefit swf more. Just a quick reminder that comms and intentions are the only differences between solo and swf.
@xGodSendDeath said:
People always throw it out there that solo play needs to be buffed to SWF level, and then buff killers to compensate, but I've never heard any suggestion of how killers would be buffed specifically. Increased movement speed? Faster hook traveling speed? Less weapon wipe animation? Teleporters to get around the map?
You're actually the first i see this mention on the forum. And while i think your examples are bad, you're going the right direction. (Not that my examples are that good either)
Those compensations have to be general killer mechanics, available to all killers. (Ability related stuff is for the killer tier gap discussion). Also "nerfing" survs could fall in this compensations.
My first personal example, id like to see a flinching system added when survivors are hit mid action, reducing their hit sprint becaise they'd be stunned for a moment.
- For continuous actions, it'd be like a missed skillcheck flinch animation when hit while repairing, healing or searching etc.
- For hits mid-vaulting, i'd like to see a new "fall to the ground but get up again" animation, but it'd probably need a multitude of animation work depending on when a survuvor is hit during the vault.
- Another exsmple, lock survivors more in animation when a generator blows up in their face, no more instant running away.
- Friendly fire for flashlights, stuns etc?
- These changes would only nerf survivors who actually mess up and get hit during actions.
One direct nerf I'd like to see is survivors having a short windup animation/delay before they actually repair generators (they need to knee down) or open doors (those kinda switches CANT power when theyre not in the down position)

"Doing gens" isn't the only thing to do in the game.
It can be the difference between getting in place for a flashlight save or not.
It can be the difference between getting into BBQ range to go for a save without hiding in a locker and wasting time.
It can be the difference between finishing the hex you're cleansing, and stopping to hide.
So why should the slinger be the only killer to inform other survivors he's "about to hurt a survivor" instead of "has just hurt a survivor"? Is he that strong? Survivors already kinda get extra time by his huge ttk, or rather time-to-injure. He doesnt need to have announcement that hes currently busy.
-
Doesnt the UI already show you injuries?
What difference do those seconds inbetween getting harpoon and getting injured/deepwounded make?
In either cases you know "huh, someone is getting hurt somewhere, neat. Better do more gens". The delayed info is even better as you've already spend those seconds progressing the game instead of being informed you can now progress it.
-
Survivors can do what they want. Unless they have the possibility of failure breathing down their necks, theyll never feel the need to actually try to win.
If only a feq killers can make survivors actually focus on their objective instead of "totally like, mess around and talk about cute boys, good vibing" , then either survivors are too strong for most killers, or those killers are too weak.
Cutting off the top killers doesnt help the cause.

They counterplay against all those killers is based on guessing. But chases from the killer side are solely based in guessing. A mindgame is a guess after all. A blink from nurse is a guess. A long range hatchet from huntress is a guess. A chainsaw sprint of Billy is a guess.
So why shouldn't survivors guess a bit too?
Finally. If they can affect it, its not a guess. "Will they do X if I do Y"?
A coin toss would be: Static blast hits you, you now get madness, or not. A harpoon is shot through your chest, theres a chance you are actually affected.

I've been advocating for this change since the begging. Also this thread is another suggestion for her power meter:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/156811/nurse-power-meter-change-suggestion
On the topic of another addon pass, yes she needs it. Her range or CD addons are still the only good ones, and even if the other ones that aren't good could be good they're marred by bugs of their own on top of her basekit bugs. It's a mess all around and we desperately need a mid-chapter dedicated to nothing but her and a few other killer bugs. Nothing but bug fixes. Little to no new content and whatever the cosmetic team happens to have finished.
I also hope they change her power meter in some fashion for the better. I don't even care if we have to have a CD now because I've just gotten used to dealing with it. I just want her fluidity restored. They ripped it right out of her cold dead hands.
Oh i think i saw that thread. I agree on the addons and all the qol sally can get. Even though in the grand scheme for all killers, addons that buff a variable shouldnt be a thing anymore, because those mostly become the meta. ( charge speed, cooldown etc) (the removal of the addons should include a buff to the base stats these addons are modifiying).
-
"Whenever a survivor is injured or downed" apparently is too strong.
Boom legion cant abuse it since it only triggers when survivors actually get downed. Billy and Oni hit once, as do ghostface plague and myers.
-
Make her cooldown recharge while she's charging her ability, even if its at 50% rate. It doesntvget rid of the stupid cd in itself, but atleast there wont be 99% blinks.
-
Killing a survivor is the same as repairing a generator. But strangely nobody cares if you do the latter in a single sitting.

@hahadrillgobrrr said:
You expect to learn the game in 3 days? There isn't any issue with FoV. When you learn to play, they can't run around you without getting hit.
Hahaha.
Killer FoV is crap, its too narrow and positioned in front the killer, like eyestalks on a snail. Survivors can be invisible right at your feet....

Reward camped survivor. Give them BP for % gens completed and distraction points. Allow them to safety pip. This would encourage them to quickly sacrifice self on hook and encourage other survivors to focus on gens and keep it to 1k rather than rushing the hook and giving killer more kills.
Make Kindred base kit and apply to stealth killers. If base kit the killers know everyone can see them near the hook and that survivors will be less likely to go for save.
Whike we are at it, grant bonus bp to survivirs getting hit in general, its unfair to lose chances for bp just because you failed.
---
I miss the times survivors were content with 1 chance.
From deathgarden's downfall i can tell that giving survivors respawns will kill any pressure the killer might have. If you dont have to get your buddy off the hook, youll just rush gens. And the devs might cave in further and add even more lives for survivors.
That series of changes were a huge fsctor for deathgarden and I dont wsnt zo see that gameending ######### in dbd.
-
Why would a survivor need to run unless the other players give them reason to?
Survivors only start fetting pressured by time when other survivors fail, and thats only IF they plan to open the gates.
-
Oh hey, theres an exploit in the game files or an app that reads such gamefiles that tells the survivors the killer, better lock the killer for the lobby so he cannot swap it to negate said exploit. Wowee, so many people supporting those cheats by belittling the cocerns expressed. I'm impressed.
-
"Will X do Y when I do Z? "
Boom mindgame. Doesnt matter if you dont like it
-
Nobody is forcing a spirit to do the easy mindgame.
Survivors are the ones sprinting into her arms. Everybody knows of this method, yet theyre yeeting themselves into her.
-
@ZephanUnbound said:
Wait, how is trapper the most picked killer? I think he is terrible. I only pick him if I have a daily challenge.
Release of Trapper tome in the Archives.
-
Crows should spawn on survivors if they didnt do gens in X minute(s). IdV handles it like that. their crows arent as lenient as in DBD.
-
Killer cant camp -> survivors dont have to unhook -> survivors get more lives -> game stops getting developed
Deathgarden did it first. Dont go thast route.
-
^^^Maybe loosening the restrictions on the worse killers, like said cooldowns, would lessen the gap between the high tier and the low. There is plenty room for improvements on the perceived weak killers before we must touch the strong killers.
But pushing the low towardss the top is seemingly only okay for survivors, even thrugh there arent any ingame differences in the swf solo gap debate lol.

Yes but why should Spirit know exactly where I am yet I have to predict? That already puts me in a losing situation.
Cuz spirit doesnt know exactly where you are?
You are
- Somewhere in a vague direction of unreliable sounds
- Somewhere in a vague red glowing area
Oh and the most recent actual knowledge of your position is "your location 2 seconds before the spirit can actually move in phase"

Edit: it seems it was me who did misunderstand OP.

Well if the spooky animations work a bit more like Doc's clones, they won't cause any camera locking or anything like that.
The premise is to spook the survivor based on their camera angle, that is to say if they're looking a certain direction then the ghost or whatever will offer a scare toward that direction.
Note that this power is for when the killer is coming out of stealth. So imagine the same amount of time it takes Wraith to uncloak, these animations and visions or sound effects are taking place until the killer is revealed and normal red stain and heartbeat take place.
Basically adding FX and scare factor to the killers terror radius. For balance purposes, you could even make it so that the killer can't see these aboritions and ghost FX. Or you could make it visible to both survivor and the killer almost like a semi tracking. Ideally though, it would work better if the killer was FULLY STEALTH, no footstep sounds, no grass movement, so that just like wraith you have the element of suprise and can reveal yourself, but without the obvious directional tell of where you are since theres crazy stuff going on and false images, and spooky hands reaching through the window.
You could even take it a step further and adjust the killers animations while vaulting windows to have the same animation as the false spooky effect.
I mention the grudge ghost as a place holder effect since there are elements in that film and many others that utilize the same type of scare tactic. And it works!!
Ohhh makes way more sense, i was under the impression that the survivors would be locked by the clone in a short animation , like getting healed by another, i think i got distracted by the "runs finger through your hair"-example.
If IdV can do a permanently invisible hunter, I think dbd could manage, especially since dbd killers are comparably simple.

- Complain about a strong killer
- Get them nerfed
- Look for next strong killer
- Jump to 1.
You're part of it. "Billy just got nerfed, what about...?
-
@BigBrainMegMain said:
Agreed. 100%.
Her phasing should be a means of getting from Point A to Point B quickly.
Her ability to hear anything should be stripped away during her phase. It'll take a bit more skill to use her but it will not drop her in Rank.
And I play Spirit.
Why should she be supposed to be a Wraith if we already have the Wraith?
Unlike wrairh, who cannot attack and is barely invisible, she cannot see and can attack, but has a time limit and is slower outside her ability.
We dont need a killer that is the worst of both abilities.
-
How nice that she can do so with stridor. Especially if its sipposed to work without it and for all killers at all times. Too bad sounds have bern bugged for years
-
"Hold x to lock onto survivor and spawn a clone" - a combination of doctor and old freddy. I dont see how'd it bug out a lot.
"Survivors in clone's field of vision / clone's target is affected by debuff for x charges/seconds (if that clone applies a fear/madness effect)" also possible.
The problem are the spooky animations, as animatio locking survi ors is a straight stun effect which could seriously be overpowered lol.

@Dexn3ko0 said:
Ruin wasn't nerfed because it was too prominent, peanits wrote that on numerous occasions.
And the most common survivor perk is still self care even though it was nerfed pretty hard.
Except selfcare still is the same effiency as getting healed by another, as it was before the base healing tweak.
-
While a nice concept and actially posdible in dbd, sadly it boils down to "Trapper with freddy teleport"
Although i must admit, If he had like 2-3 safes to swap positions with instead "just" teleporting, the keeper could become dbd's version of "hell ember" from idV. The strategic approach and teleport management would be better than just a teleport.
-
Taking the IdV 2v8 rules as a baseline, I think Doc and plague combined might be the most impactful combination. Hag and Trapper could be also more popular.
From real IdV experience, killers lose once they intentionally focus the same target. (It's a difference if a surv chased by Killer A into B's range). As survivors keep proving on gens, splitting up and chasing the heck out of as many targets as possible is far more efficient than going 2v1 with 7 survs on gens.
Thus, the killers with the longlasting debuffs or traps that affect survivors outside their immediate range will be stronger in this mode.
(In idv killer do not share perk effects btw)

Anime is childish.
Google Elfen lied and watch the first 7 minutes of the first episode. Then tell me that "anime is childish"
Hahaha. Some people are clueless.
Last year in german tv, a kids channel had a neon genesis evangeluon movie marathon at prime time.
Nothing says "for kids" as listenting to a children song while one monster floods a town with another monster's blood and guts.
Also: Madoka episode 3.
---
On a personal note, its awful funny how some people here think an anime character would be added to dbd in cell shading style. OBVIOUSLY new assets will be in the established dbd aesthetic.
That said, Tenkuu shinpaan masks for all killers. Maybe complete skin for legion lol.
-
Make default blood more reliable, slap addititional herrmophage or blood stuff on mangled.
-
Ccheck the forum start page, they posted a sticky that theyre tweaking the overheatmechanism.
Less heat buildup, only hating up while M2 is actually pressed. Heat reduction instanlty starts when the sprint ends, and heat dissipates a bit faster.
That sais, its still ptb and might change again
-
There shouldnt be addons effecting only 1 tier of his ability. Well his unspecialised addons atleast (tombstones/mirrors are too specialised to get adjusted per tier, i guess).
-
Bloodpoints AND chaser emblem need to be adjusted to instantdown abilities
In Myers case its a bit worse because "technically" hes not using a power but the exposed debuff. "He's normally attacking a survivor who happens to be expised.
Im drifting off but I agree to adding boni.
-
I doubt they could really copy that wonky teleport from the F13 game, legally speaking.
Lol spirit too opressive, but okay for jason? How about the instant mori grab like tombstone myers right out of the teleport/phase/mistwalking.
-
Wow, as if scott cawthorn or behaviour couldnt design a springtrap to fit dbd's aesthetics. Springtrap btw only fitting animatronic because spolier.
Fnaf deserves as much to be in this game as SAW-stuff. If torture porn can get in, then popular jumpscare horror can too. Most modern horror stuff is jumpscares, so why not fnaf.
People who dont want fnaf here are just salty *their favorite wasnt implemented* instead. Reference the pennywise/candyman etc crowds when Pyramid chad was addd.
Some complainers are sick of seeing new threads for fnaf too, wxcept irs all "no fnaf" threads lol
-
A change from 0.5 charges to 0.45 charges per second.
It takes current ruin ~160 seconds to completely regress a gen. Why would you want to increase that to ~178 ?
Theres no need for such a nerf. Especially for "just" 0.05 c/s.
-
Well, billiy and nurse were designed for "lul just use ("spam") that ability as you want, same with the rest of zhe original cast.
In nurse xase you cant even move around the map without "spamming"
-
How the hell is it camping if he's only notified once the survivor is free to leave?
If you're too late to the rescue even though you see the cage and he cannot, then whose fault is it? Little hint, its not the guy with the metal helmet.
Ps: survivors need to be punished for guessing correctly where generators or totems might be located. Said totems need to teleport away from survivors within 15 seconds of survivors getting in close range.
-
Survivors look at the top killer(s) and whine until they're getting nerfed. Then they chose the next top killer(s) to complain about.
Its been observeable since ever, but becomes really obvious when a killer actually gets a "slight rework".
-
Wraith is like survivors want spirit to be so its rasther unlikely he'll get touched up ... a lot. Oh i guess his camouflage could be weakened a bit and be made unable to see survivors while "invisible".
Probably some sort of resource for staying invisible that recharges at 1/5 of the depletion rate .
Damn the possibilitites are endless.

I enjoy going against lots of strong and good killers, I dont want billy nerfed as hes one of my favorite killers to go against, although im a huntress main, if they get me I dont get mad as we all make mistakes during a game, however, spirit is the least interactive killer to go against and all her counters are perk and map dependable, forcing survivors to use Iron Will and play Immersed isn't really fun for killer either, probably my least favorite type of survivor to go against as a huntress.
the only difference in interaction between spirit and other killer is that she's invisible and cant see survivors. thats it. So why is that such a problem when she herself cant pinpoint you? I'm not trying to be rude ( nor targeting you personally ) but I seriously cant understand why survivors are upset about a killer who has to guess where their prey is. Its arguably the same pettiness that gets survivors mad when a nurse blinks through a wall and hits them.
-
You could try moaning and whining about the killers that beat you until the devs pity you.
Happened twice full time now and got spirit addons brushed lightly. It's proven to work and survivors keep doing it lol.
Joke/Satire/Sad truth about other survivors aside, run the perks you want to run. Not like a killer can disable them.
-
- Get the Top Tier Killers nerfed
- Look for the next strongest Killer
- Repeat
Spirit cant see survivors, survivors cant see her... "omg she's so advantageous over survivors"
-
If only the FOV was the only thing wrong with killer vision?
Remember the eye position adjustment so killers cant peek into lockers? Thats the reason killers cant see crouched survivors right in front of them.
-
Theres an essy method to determine the next mainstream killer to complain about.
The top tiers.
Strong killers op, nerf .
-
Ohhhh how ambitious, it's ripley.
My vote is on FnaF just to be a prick 😂
Cool DLC-splasharts btw.
-
A similiar change was done to deathgarden back then, it spiraled into those runners getting less and less punished for death, it may have been a bigger contribution to the game's demise. If im wrong...
Then i can still say that such a mechanism sucks in dbd.
-
Theres no need to make default skillchecks more lenient.
Just make overcharge a normal check and be donecwith it.

What do you mean? He’s busted as hell. Choppering around the map and back rubing survivors is pretty braindead. On top of that he can also curve at loops, and by 99 ing the chainsaw forever ao that he’s able to create unfair one sided situations. But nevertheless he’s getting a buff too. He’ll make a riddiculous roar sound now that stuns survivors by making them laugh their ass off every time.
Just here to point out that by this adjustment , the devs are discouraging the skillfull corner revving and encourage to just, in your words: backrub survivors.
