They should incentivize survivors to stay by making matches fun again.
Describe please your understanding of the word "fun". Playing according to survivor rulebook? Because killer has to hunt and kill. You literally accept it when you log in as survivor

Only you hun, most disagree with your "comp" mindset
Those who don't have it, should avoid playing PvP and focus on PVE. When kids play PvP game, they compete. Want to win, get better. That's actually healthy mindset.

Honestly, no one likes to vs Spirit, do you like looping an invisible killer? I believe not. We don't even get points for the chase because Spirit just drops it with her power.
I like. I know a lot who likes. After Spirit nerf years ago you can follow "invisible" killer with mouse. It's hilarious how bad Spirit is compared to it's prime

How is it for you guys today? I am having under 30 seconds right now on killer…
When survivor is x1.5 I play it, as que times are less than 10 sec. When it goes away, it means survivors are more than enough, and I'm going killer where longest I wait around 1-2 min.

Kindred really improves teamwork. Not so good as "Discord" perk, but still useful

That's my new record. We just started.

Not straight up banned, no.
A time limited lockout of entering queue with increasing timer up to 48 hours, I think.
The limit slowly lowers with time or matches played without leaving. But details on this part of how it works specifically are mostly unknown.
Never heard about 48h, but I believe general DC penalty resets 24 hours.
-
I literally just started and the moment guy went 1 hook on Wesker we had a DC. At least we have BOT and not AFK.
DO you really think I don't want to DC right now?
-
Literally game 2 min ago. Ace shows how it looks like. Our Sable refuses to play after 1 hook. She's just afk. Do you think it's interesting to play 3v1 on 4 gens?
Don't want to shame anyone, so I hid everything, Guy just give up and stands still.
-
Do you really believe this would solve anything? Okay you give DC penalty, Survivor will go afk and it's even worse than bot.
-
I'm not IT specialist to describe it in proper definitions, but in simple words, they don't have reconnection feature. Usually games are made if someone was dropped or bugged you have this "reconnecting thing" as game allows you to connect back.
In DBD the moment your connection pinged, you are dropped and game ends
-
I hope they don't beat bushes and nerf it to the ground or rework. Free hits with auto aim and pallet vault while survivor is stunned is busted. From my experience Kaneki and Wesker are two kings of survivors auto DC from my lobbies.
-
This game is alive as people enjoy it despite all the misunderstandings and differences. It gives emotions. That's why people play it.

I agree but then something needs to be done for killers too because gens fly by and trust me they will fly by once they allow survivors to see each other perks in lobbies + if they add these basekit changes to survivors.
Something needs to be done for early game for killer side.
It's the second part of the problem. But to reach it, Devs must equalize SWF and SoloQ. Then they will have real numbers of actual power killers have and see what needs to be fixed.
I'm all in to give Soloq Kindred and maybe few other Aura perks as base kit. But only aura perks that compensate information people can get from discord.
Then after Survivor experience and power level will be on close to similar power level balance killers.
-
I honestly think majority wouldn't even care what you pick yo play. People can't find your skill level based on your perks. And what about quests? Are you going to dodge because "he picked That perk!"
In 99% of my games even after I type "gl hf", there's no response. I don't believe anything is going to change

Well even agains't 4 man swf killers have over 50% kill rate so according to stats it's fine. Most swf aren't great either it's small percentage that are problem but they are also extremely skilled at the game.
I never said killers are useless vs swf. My main point is to properly balance killer and survivor experience, SoloQ must be adjusted to swf level. Otherwise you can't say what is actually balanced and what's not because power gap between two is too big. That's why everyone always complains about everything.
You can easily check it yourself. Swf vs SoloQ is day and night experience. And same goes against killers. In soloQ some killers look awfully difficult. And in SWF it's like. "Guys, X and Y are going to loop, Z is genrusher and I will bring support perks. Let's move on"
-

Kindred yes but not deja vu. Maybe bond should be basekit as it let's you see teammates so you don't run killer to gen that is being fixed. It range could be limited more but essentially it gives only imformation that swf already has.
Maybe you are right. Anything that won't directly buff SWF and cut gap between SoloQ and SWF
-
@PigWithTvs said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3970210#Comment_3970210
yea im down with this idea, as long as the killer aura thingy is removed i really could see this being very helpful
instead of guessing if a survivor is going for the rescue or not we could have that but at the same time i could see it kinda of removing a bit of pressure from the killer side because now instead of the survivor guessing they would always know meaning they will stay on the gen instead of trying to rescue
But the point is to properly balance killer side, you must equalize SWF and SoloQ. Otherwise it's never ending circle. Currently what's broken for SoloQ is piece of cake for SWF. Once you close this gap, you will receive proper numbers revealing actual killer power level and then we can speak about killers being equalised as survivor power level from game to game will be mostly the same
-
@PigWithTvs said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3970180#Comment_3970180
oh, in that case yea that would be nice help for soloQ players
Thank you. Maybe due to being poor in English I sometimes write it wrong, but main killers problem comes from difference between SWF and SoloQ powerlevel. Once devs buff SoloQ to swf level with for example Kindred and Dejavu, as SWF has it information from voice chat, it would be healthier for the game as it will reveal actual killer power level. Lower gap between solo and team = better for the game and easier to balance
Because currently it's hilarious. You ain't going to have 3-4k against good swf, and then you will destroy SoloQ and according to Devs it's somehow "good" because your killrate is around 50% and it's balanced.
-
@PigWithTvs said:

basekit dejavu sounds like a bad idea, looking for gens is a form of pressure for the killer since u are wasting time
and for kindred, as i mentioned before doesn't it have the same range as the anti camp system? i genuinely don't see the appeal tbh, if the killer is loud u gonna hear them and kindred doesn't effect stealth killers, and this could create problems with shacks that have basement, it would make looping for killer a nightmare
It's not for anti-camp. It's to make Solo survivors understand who is going to unhook because sometimes nobody does and sometimes all 3 run towards it. As for anti camp… You can bring Open hands and make it up to 32m. But I very rarely see someone camping. And best strat against campers is genrush. Just do all gens and leave him with his 3 hooks.
Again it's all if we compare soloQ and swf.

I agree. Coms not only tell you where survivors are, it also tells you where they are going to be. Coms essentially give all survivors in a team permanent info on where everyone is and lets them see into the future as well. As a completely free perk, that's a hell of a powerboost
Coms tell you everything. Discord is more than all existing aura perks together. For example, just running around (assuming we are used to play together and you understand my calls) I can tell you where are totems, which gen to repair, what killer does so you won't be stressed if you are in it's terror radius, where are dead zones without pallets, who goes to unhook… Literally everything.. And if it's 4 man squad, it's very easy to cooperate as you almost entirely remove random behaviour factor and free space from aura perks as you don't need them anymore.
Like check how pros play. They even devided map into numbers. What was fastest gen rush record? 5 gens 2-30? Killer in this game is plaything

Well given the current state the game is for survivor side no nerfs for survivors/swf is justified. As solo survivor I can go 10 games without escape. I argue the game is already balanced that killers have good chance agains't swf:s.
I have won many teams better than me in skill and those teams I would not win let's say 2 years ago when many maps were much bigger and with more pallets. Buffing solo survivor should be priority now then see how killer side is affected. I been playing this game for years and remember when killer was actually hard before 6.1 update.
I would really like to see Dejavu and Kindred basekit to make solo players vs swf players gap smaller. My point is lesser gap is, easier to balance.
Because currently power of "friendship" breaks the game.

auras are always stronger than comms when it comes to sharing info because they give accurate and up to date information.
I would disagree with you. It was multiple times proven Discord beats everything. People even streamed how they 4 man perkless squad outplayed killer just by using voice calls. Also voice call completely removes any stress and doubts from game as one who loops killer tells others what to do. It's win-win scenario in comparison to SoloQ players who must pick auras to be effective.

im not very familiar with nurse, but that's not what i meant, i meant i would teleport to a normal area, let's say from the top of coal tower to the bottom and the game would either put me somewhere else or simply put me back up, even tho the teleport was normal, its a lil weird to explain
I understood you. You can check it in practice mode. This thing happens when place you chose to blink doesn't have space to put Nurse model there. It's collision problem.

I agree with you that the majority in terms of pure numbers are “causal” players, but that doesn’t mean that this is a game that those casual players are going to enjoy. That was my point. Just look at the constant complaining on this forum about how one side or the other is too difficult and no fun to play.
Okay. Name me please perfect game where players don't complain about balance. Even Dota and LoL both having above 20 millions players have complaints all over every ELO. You literally can't satisfy everyone. Problem is Master tier would learn game and tell you - git gud. While silver boy will put his EGO over game
Edit: I don't want to tell Dbd is perfect, but people complaining literally about everything.
-
@I_Cant_Loop said:
DbD simply is not a game for “casual” players. You either have to have been playing for a very long time or, if you’re new now, you have to dedicate your life to learning how to play for it to be enjoyable (and that applies to both sides). I would consider myself a “casual” player (less than 10 hours per week), but I have been playing for a very long time and I also spend time watching videos to learn more about how to improve my gameplay when I’m not actually playing. And even after playing since 2018 I still am not very good.
I think most people who pick up this game with the expectation that they are going to be good at it and have fun by playing a few hours a week are going to be sorely disappointed and most will quit. Only those who are dedicated to playing full-time will stick with it.You are wrong. Casual players are core and majority in every game. And I mean literally. People in majority don't tend to improve or play for competitive level. They play for emotions.
Also you can check steamchart . Biggest player income is during events. The moment event ends, they go away.

try playing nurse, u sometimes just randomly go back in time or teleport to somewhere u weren't aiming for its actually so weird im not even sure if this server sided or just the game
As for nurse it's not a bug. It's game anti collision. You can easily test it out. You can't blink in area where your model ends up in textures. To prevent this from happening, game cancels your blink.
-
I'm playing on both sides and It's difficult to tell on which side I have more hours. But I would guess I'm 50-50 surv-killer. As my Kate has 2 more prestige levels than my Plague which is not big difference. Back to the topic. If anything what I don't like about playing as killer it's:
a) Swf. Bhvr has to stop pretending deaf and finally balance game around discord teams. But to make it less hard for Solo players that don't have friends, make Kindred basekit. Then balance every killer with a thought he's playing against 4 man swf discord squad. Because it's day and night experience. Also kindred would help new players to learn the game.
b) Invisible walls. On most maps I met situation Anna's and Plague (only ranged killers I play), sometimes hit invisible wall with their projectiles.
c) Spirit. Maybe it's my hearing problems, but on some maps (during chase) it's confusing when you hear sound from right headphone, but survivor went left.
-
Honestly I would disagree. Recently I invited another My friend. He started playing 3 weeks ago and plays around 90% of his time as killer. He picked Anna as she can throw axes and down annoying survivors ©. Especially with flashlights. But we tried both sides and here's my summary:
Game is completely balanced around loops. Looping as survivor is harder than killer. That's why looping as survivor is bit more difficult than killer and everything else is so boring my friend refuses to hold W or glue to gen.
All information he needed to 4k in most of his games was I taught him about triangle strat, so he knew which gens to ignore, how to slug and how to fake moonwalk. It literally took us like hour or something. So it doesn't fit "game has a lot of information to learn". Not to mention he doesn't know what 60% perks do. To be honest, I myself don't know and don't need it, most of information in this game is meaningless. You don't need to know so much to win. Vast majority of survivors and killers play "copy paste" builds. In around 300+ perks you barely see 30+ people use.
Just because there are so many options to try, doesn't mean you need to do it. Basic rule OF LITERALLY EVERY GAME - Pick what your eyes like to see and adjust it during your own experience. Don't overcomplicate it. Life doesn't work for people who wants everything here yet now

I assume you know that they changed to skillbased matchmaking? "Ranks" these days are supposed to be a way for you to earn a few bloodpoints at the end of the month, they aren't just for matchmaking anymore that why they are called grades now - that's also the reason why it's so easy to earn them, there's no reason to make it harder than needed.
As far as I know bhvr hides your mmr to you and other people to stop people worrying about it and just play.
I highly doubt something like MmR exists. It's just word people use, but nothing more than that.
If MMR actually existed, you would never ever had a situation during one session one game you have guys with 10k hours, and then literally next one a guy who just installed the game. It's impossible if something like MmR existed.

Friend I agree this is mostly an MMR mismatch issue, but some Killers snowball better than others and some of those Killers may purposefully try to cause this to happen at the start. It's not always the Survivors misplaying.
And why it's even a problem? If you all are 4 man down, it's your own fault. Seriously it brings us to situation we had 3-4 years ago. Doesn't matter how bad survivors are, killer is always guilty.
Do we need to start recording from survivor side how games go? Just pick kindred and get popcorn. Survivors I get in my soloQ in general are barely better than bots. But then they are so full of themselves because killer killed them ignoring "survivors rulebook"

It's not about the killer playing the killer role. I myself understand it's the role to kill the surviviors. However, when there is excessive tunneling, camping, slugging at 5 gens, humping survivors, slugging for the 4k, it's understandable that alot of players would not find that a fun experience.
If killers spreads hooks and keeps the game moving then that is totally fine from my perspective.
Then let's together demand a proper MMR/Rank system. It's not player side problem. Game itself puts players with over X hours vs inexperienced. You can't just expect killers to play for survivors fun and then get blamed because they didn't get fun. It's not how Fun works. Killers also want their part of fun. And 4K is one of them. Killer to begin with is a SOLO player vs 4 players.
How do you think it feels when 4 guys bully weaker killer, huh? Why all of a sudden 4 survivors feelings matter more? If you all failed at 5 gens, blame yourself, your teammates, but where's killer fault here? He played well so now you blame him for being good? That's hilarious. -

Im just saying don't be surprised if people find those strats annoying and dont want to engage with it. You are free to play how you want but dont then wonder why other people dont want to engage 🤷🏼♀️
I'm not surprised at all. But if you complain about something, it would be good to offer a solution. Not just "I hate you because you killed us". It sounds silly. I bet if you played killer it wouldn't even be an issue for you
-
@KA149108 said:
Not surprising when the survivor side is miserable (unless you're a cracked 4man swf)
Killers want to slug, camp, tunnel and make matches a 3v1 quickly as possible and well you get long ques...enjoy.
On the other end what else you expect them to do? It's efficient strat for kills. If killer ignores survivors, they ge genrush him and t-bag at the exit.
-
@vol4r said:
"fixing" survivior incentives from 100% to 25% was not a great idea, I guess.
Pushing killer content (kaneki, animatronic back to back) wasn't the greatest idea either - surviviors got nothing, so people want to play killer more.
Also this happening on top of "survivior giving up", "tunneling is a problem", "slugging is a problem" era.
Honestly it's not about new content. It's more about balance.
For example yesterday I played survivor whole evening and most of my games felt so terrible in some games I wanted to kill my teammates myself. I bring kindred and open hands almost every game and still survivors play so pathetically bad I wonder how it's even possible.
Literally in 6 games I had "that kind of teammate" who played game like brainless dummy and always brought killer to other teammates or hook so killer could get easily 2-3 downs.
And it's very frustrating when one dummy ruins everything because…. Well, I don't know reason behind it.
On the other side Vesker, Kaneki and that new bunny killer (I honestly don't know it's English name) Were almost every game and people literally DC'D from Kaneki and Vesker lobbies. (My fastest game was we dced in less than a minute after game started as two my teammates left the moment they saw Kaneki. I was 3rd person to leave the game, but 4th guy left after me). Which leads us to the point people see those killers as broken.

So move back towards old hatch? Yeah, no thanks. There may be an answer here, but that ain't it.
It's better than just DC because you don't want to play.
-
There should be option to escape together. Simply abandoning will be abused any time in the game for example on survivor first down…
If survivors fixed more gens than survivors are alive. In this case it would be 3. They should be able to find CLOSED hatch and escape for example by finding/bringing key. It would make games more cooperative and interactive than simply RQ or DC because you are frustrated or bored
-
Its not killer side problem. It's survivors. If you actually pay attention most of the time you have x1.5 on survivor role which means there are not enough players. I live in +2UTC and only time I noticed this goes away is around 10-11PM.
-
Legion was my first killer. I was absolute noob and thought it's going to be fun to play undercover and pretend I'm survivor. According to cinematic it looked cool, but in reality that was scam and Legion was nothing close to it.
And once I realised Legion is a noob stomper and sucks against anything decent, I forgot about it and switched to Plague. She provides decent control over map and quite okayish on everything. At least playing her isn't this boring as modern killers like Kaneki or Vesker. Both are completely no-brainer spammers
-
It's 9 sec. No way your team can't split up in 9 sec and play against mentioned killers. Even if killer gets on weak survivor, it's only 1 hook. How's that even broken for a perk slot?
-
Honestly it's quite average. Killer experience is literally based on HOW GOOD survivors are in the lobby. If you meet experienced players with weaker half of the killers, you are screwed to the point it's very difficult to even get few hooks. If you meet babies, it's exact opposite. They do so random and unpredictable stuff I feel sad for killing them.
So if we speak honestly if your goal is to get 4K, pick your main killer and show your best. If you want to have fun and won't be upset with 0-3K, pick anything you want. -
If we speak about who is actually boring to play against it's Myers. That's the king of boring matches especially when he brings insta kill addons. I even don't blame people who DC once they see him.
As for Kaneki, he's not boring, but overpowered. It's a casual level Nurse with much easier gameplay and A LOT easier ability to hit survivors. It doesn't even feel rewarding when you loop it because very moment you think you got distance, he is right on your face with single button click. -
That would be my feedback.
-
Why? Christmas is only important for certain religions.

I admit his defeat and most likely let him go. But not 100% cause I don't want to make survivors feel like they can buy their way out. So it works only with last survivor and if he was good.
Exception is if i liked survivor midgame. For example survivor during chase show me teddy bear picture. It was so awesome that i kept in mind it, so i killed everyone else and let her go.
There's always depends on situation but most likely i will let u go.

Not everyone earns perks just to earn and not everyone is fan of horror icons. I would gladly kill em all but survivors have no shotgun 🙄
