We need much more nerfs on slowdowns as long as you can stack them to no end. Buffing slowdowns is the worst way to go.

If that means buffing basekit slowdown, then sure.

Current slowdown are already very weak compare to original versions, most of them not really worth to use. You also can't stack several of them, because of 3-gen feature (especially Surge/Eruption).

    Overcharge, CoB are super trash.

I also wouldn't mind buffing them to original version or more and limit them to 1/2 per build, but that would need overall rework of perk system for both sides, which is not likely to happen in next years.

Most players do not play sweaty. Otherwise we wouldn't see complaints about Wraith, BBQ, and Windows all the time. Those things aren't issues for high level players, at all.

You are mistaken here. Just because someone plays sweaty, it doesn't mean they are good.

Sweaty doesn't mean competitive level. Especially when those players simply don't need to play sweaty to win.

Sweaty simply means map offerings, meta builds, best items/addons etc. It has nothing to do with how good they actually are.

  • Yeah, never understood why devs like double nerfing so much. Like you are already making power worse, why also increase cooldown? Should be doing an opposite instead…

  • Well, best is to learn totem spawns, so you don't need to waste a perk slot for searching.

Also try to cleanse only if needed (ignore plaything) and remember totem spawns, where you cleansed for pentimento.
Try to use Inner Strength, so basically you are doing something for yourself, not just denying perk for killer. Also it does something even if killer doesn't play totem build.

I used to play Detective's hunch + Inner Strength a lot when I started.
Detective's hunch is good to help you learn spawn patterns. When you learn it, as soon you find 1 totem, you can find rest of them on most maps.

Very true my dear, killer mains here don't want to adapt because they wanna brainoff m2 power that allos them to get free hits and plus they don't forget to insult survs (especially soloq) by saying if you can't learn to play against 30+!!! (that's a lot on survs shoulders) killer then it's your problem because only my fun as a killer main matters and I don't care about that your soloq player

Very true my dear, killer mains here don't want to adapt

Funny to say, when this is your next comment

Imagine saying this when each chapter killer have constant power changes, addon changes, perk changes, you are asking way too much from survivors especially from solos like me, killer should be nerfed

You don't seem like you wanted to adapt either, just saying.

    • show killer hook stages per survivor
    • survivors who were not hooked yet have unbreakable with cost of hook stage

If the Twins players want to win, they have to heavily slug sadly, that's just how much BHVR screwed up their design.

They once tried to fix them, which took them 2 years and resulted in the most broken Killer in the history of Dead By Daylight, so they had to revert it.

You cannot really do anything about them without doing a partial rework, if you nerf Victor The Twins would become garbo.

if you nerf Victor The Twins would become garbo.

So we might get Freddy 3.0

Current status about good killers that got presents:

    2 Ghost face
    3 Nurse (1 p100)
    2 Bubba (1 p100)

Surprisingly almost all of them played along, except 1 Bubba, who didn't want to wait (but was nice in end game chat)

1 Bubba was a streamer and we watched VOD and his reaction was absolutely amazing, we will definetly do it few more times just for that. He was so happy about his gifts, definetly a good Bubba this year.

  • If you have issue with Finesse, try to play few games with Legion.
It's amazing how many survivors DC as soon they notice you, simply because Finesse (even better if they have also dramaturgy) doesn't really work against Legion.

  • I mean, it was incorrect to nerf several of those meta perks (so much) like DS, Iron Will, Ruin, Pop etc. simply because they had to buff them back later anyway.
If you nerf meta perks and buff others, you just created exactly stale meta as before, just different perks…

How many of these chucky post'swill there be? He still fine, just not brain dead now with rat poison and use to be easy hits, look at him as you would look at the knight and his deserves nerf, both shouldn't have gotten away with able to hit for free and as I say in every chucky post am tired of him as much as those who got tired of Wesker. Tired of that ######### talking weasel.

It's fine if they wanted Dash to be weaker, but his cooldown should be way lower, or make him 115%, so he is not so weak against hold W.
I couldn't care less about rat poison.

imagine forcing survivors to learn every little counterplay for 30+ killers, predict their addons, stop turning this game into super comp game!

Imagine nerfing others, because you don't want to learn the game you play.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

The cooldown should be 12 seconds. 14 is too high, but 10 was too low.

I think even 10 would be fine with current version of dash. It's way weaker.

  • @Oputeeva said:

He is fine, just need more skills to play now, not a brainoff m2 power with always free hit

    I find your statement amusing.

So he has lower killer than both Blight and Nurse.

So isn't he simply weak, when he is so easy as you say? He should killrate compare to old skully, if it was so free as you claim.

If he is easy and low killrate, then it would mean he needs a buff, no? It's fine to have low killrates on difficult killers, because it makes sense.

So when its someone else, you have two people doing nothing and you can just chase after the one with head-on, cause they wont get much distance at all (not that the saved one got much more distance though). You dont lose that much if you get hit by it in this scenario.

And your mentality is just awful. Not suited to play online games with or against other people.

So when its someone else, you have two people doing nothing

So flashlight/pallet saves are bad to do?
    Protection hits overall?

All of those have two players doing nothing…
It's not useless, if it wastes more time for the killer than you, or at least same. If done properly all can be defastating for the killer.

Headon is basically better than protection hit and it would waste almost same amount of time.

Funny is OP's buff idea can be used ONLY for someone else, it doesn't do anything for yourself. So if it is so "bad" to do in your opinion, there is no need for it anyway.

ou can just chase after the one with head-on

That's very good outcome for you. Killer dropped chase on someone injured for someone healthy. Especially if killer was trying to tunnel someone.

And your mentality is just awful. Not suited to play online games with or against other people.

lol, I think my mentality is simply not being a hypocrite and trying not to be a toxic waste. If you can't handle that, seems like your issue.

  • I didn't really like how questions were phrased.
It's not really about the number of survivors, where slugging can be an issue.

Basically only scenario, where I consider slugging to be an issue is when noone was ever hooked, so it is used as main strategy.

Otherwise there simply are scenarios, where slugging is needed imo.

  • They do it so often, it seems like they do it on purpose…

I don't mind it usually, but very annoying on Hawkins/Lerrys.

You can avoid Head-On by being cautious and knowing how to bait it out. Its nothing new. Learn to play against it and dont spout this nonsense about slugging survivor if something doesnt comfort you.

How do I bait it, when it gets to be used by someone outside of chase?
There is no notification, it's not loud to hear.

Seems like all survivors here can only use it during their chase for themselves. No wonder you think it is bad, when you don't use it properly.
Yeah, if survivor is naive enough to jump into locker while I chase them, not difficult to bait it. If it gets to be someone else and survivors just lead chase there, then nothing I can do about it.

dont spout this nonsense about slugging survivor if something doesnt comfort you

I have strict rules for myself. I don't do things, I don't want others to do.
And if someone does something I don't like, I will do the same to them.

Survivors seem like they don't enjoy bleeding out, so whenever someone abuse busted perks, maps etc. I will do something they won't enjoy too.

The fact that he's not the best killer shouldn't be reason why he shouldn't be nerfed, hit mechanic is bad, you can make Ghostface hit you for 100% only when he's carrying survivor and it's too specific. When he's in chase for other survivor, he can activate his power and instantly down you if you're trying to give protection.

Well, don't take protection hits, if you think he has power ready and you are not 100% sure you are not 99% stalked.
Unless you consider it is worthy to get downed for it.

But at least you can take protection hit against him… You have killers where you simply can't do it, or killers where you will get downed no matter what. So it's not like he is unique even at this aspect.

  • @Emeal said:

99% stalked Ghostface is just awful gameplay, it needs a change.

Why because if I was exposed idd react diffrent, but if im 0.3 sec from and I dont know how screwed I am I dont.

Well, Ghostface is bad, if he simply chase.
Playing him as a setup killer is kinda best way, if you want to win with him. Which works only because of 99%.

I would say it's more fair version of Myers. He had to stalk you specifically unlike Myers, where you can be downed in exactly same way, but Myers stalked someone completely different.

Ghostface is not in position for nerf anyway.

  • Issue is incentives are broken at least on EU servers.

Survivors have bonus (25%) even when killers have way faster queue times.

  • Most players play sweaty, nothing new.

Today I had Blight that was surprised, when I wrote to him "gg, gl", poor guy couldn't wrap his head around me wanting him to have a good luck. I wonder how long it was since he has seen some nice message.

If you actually try to have fun game, it can be done. But you can't get it by only not playing meta perks as call it chill, not like killer can see it.
When I go for roleplays, killers often play along. But you have to actively do some silly action in front of the killer, which can backfire…

2 survivors don't repair generators, so that's in your favor.

Laith gives survivor 18m because survivor moves 6m per second when activated.

you need to stay in locker for 3 seconds.

if swf does it easily what's stopping it from helping SoloQ.

I don't know why some killers main just want the road straight ahead, if the road deviates right or left even a little bit (OMG IT'S OP!!!!! Need Nerffffff!!!! How dare these survivors change my chase routine!!!!).

2 survivors don't repair generators, so that's in your favor.

But still not down, not getting closer to killing anyone, not using any hooking perks.

If I were to hook the survivor, it's also two survivors not on gen.

Flashlight save if done properly can be devastating for the killer. Headon is not going to waste more time than needed. It would still be so much better for SWF than soloQ anyway. I go into locker, I headon, I leave.

There is no waiting for down and low chance to fail unlike flashlights.

Laith gives survivor 18m because survivor moves 6m per second when activated.

That's flawed, you would move 12m without the Lithe, so no reason to count it for the Lithe and killer is still moving during it unlike when he is stunned with Headon.

if swf does it easily what's stopping it from helping SoloQ.

That's the thing, they don't. You can look at any video with headon squads and there will be missplays. Wrong locker, trying to go into same locker etc.

if you buff it this way, it still won't be suddenly amazing for soloQ unless you use additional perks for it, but it would be brainless easy for SWF.

I don't care if they reduce exhaustion duration of headon, but definetly not make it easier to use.

I don't know why some killers main just want the road straight ahead, if the road deviates right or left even a little bit (OMG IT'S OP!!!!! Need Nerffffff!!!! How dare these survivors change my chase routine!!!!).

And what exactly you want killers to do against it? Respect every locker on path of your chase? That's impossible.

Even if survivors fail, it's protection hit at worst.

I have never ask to nerf it, just don't do this specific buff (to make it easy to use). That's different, so don't try to put words in my mouth.

  • Just keep everything as is and make him 115%.
    Seems easy to do…

Except for the fact, its literally so weak its not even worth it

Compared to the normal exhaustion perk, it gives you no distance and you actually lose even more distance because of the locker animation.

It also has prerequisites of 3 seconds in locker-literally requiring the killer to walk into the locker

The risk isnt worth the reward, but you seriously want to prevent it? There are ways, like not waiting 3d for them to activiate it, mindgame them into a free down, or literally wait 60s if the perk is that provokative to you.

Also, not sure if your aware but slugging because the surviviors are being alturistic is insane, would you prefer survivors who just hid from chase whole game until endgame?

    it gives you no distance

    That's not really true.

You wouldn't use it while you are the one in chase. If you use it for someone else, it gave them exactly 12 meters of distance.
    Btw Lithe gives 6 meters.

Headon for someone else is basically flashlight save on steroids:

    • longer stun
    • harder to avoid
    • no perks to counter it (except Iron maiden, but kinda useless for most killers, wouldn't prevent it tho)
    • you don't need to wait till survivor gets downed (less time wasted for you)

Except (with OP's change) it would be so much easier to do.

The risk isnt worth the reward, but you seriously want to prevent it?

You are having whole argument about how user of headon won't get distance, but OP suggestion is directly tied to using it for someone else. So doesn't really work…

There are ways, like not waiting 3d for them to activiate it, mindgame them into a free down, or literally wait 60s if the perk is that provokative to you.

Have you really not ever think of using headon for someone else? If you try to use headon only for you, then I understand why you think it is weak perk.

Also, not sure if your aware but slugging because the surviviors are being alturistic is insane, would you prefer survivors who just hid from chase whole game until endgame?

Sure, there are perks to find them. I am not really worried about rats without distortion.

I still can't wrap my head around how they though that it's ok to make such a big change without PTB, this is so stupid. What's the point of PTB then?

He feels so bad to play it's painful. I played 15 games and after 10 I already had enough, I refuse to play him until they revert that stupid speed change

Then again, there is certain content creator who is also a consultant whose name starts with H and ends with S that absolutely despise Chucky and said on stream that he's fine now and still A tier (which is insane take btw, he's nowhere close), so I'm not holding my breath for revert, I just wish I could get my 150 milion BP back
Actually it's kinda both strange and funny that the biggest content creators are radio silent about Chucky changes, usually there is like milion YT videos when killer gets buffed or nerfed, especially as hard as Chucky and now there is nothing :)

I find it hilarious, they had need to double nerf Chucky with even higher cooldown, while Huntmaster has 3 seconds cooldown…

It would make sense to reduce cooldown back to 10 seconds, when they want to nerf Dash, but no… let's nerf him even more

  • @DeBecker said:

Stunning the killer is a valid part of the game. and head-on just does this. You have no arguments.

And what if you get stunned that often by headon? Just because you dont like to get stunned? Are you one of those jumpiing ten meters back at each pallet? Sad excuse.

Well, it's nice you want to be on power trip, but I don't see a reason why it should be easy for survivors.

No, I don't like to get stunned. Who would have thought? When I get stunned, it should be something I had chance to avoid. So far that's true for all sources, except Headon.

    • DS is mostly protective and can be avoided fully by killer.
    • Pallets can be avoided and there are perks to help with them.
    • Blast mine can be avoided with perks too (Surge, Ruin, Pain res etc), or just ignore gens

That's not true for headon, that's something that can be used basically only offensively. If you show aura to survivors, it won't even be difficult to get, even monkeys can get free stuns at that point.

If they ever buff headon, I am going to bleed out every survivor, who will try to use it on me and I don't want you to go cry on forum for basekit unbreakable after it.

  • @DeBecker said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3857029#Comment_3857029

The stun duration is already not worth it, because the animations take up a lot of time. Its already not in line with the other exhaustion perks. a nerf would make it borderline niche.

And why shouldnt surivors be allowed to have perks to fight back? Cause killers just want to be untouchable?

And why shouldnt surivors be allowed to have perks to fight back?

Why should they be able to do it? They are supposed to escape, not try to kill the killer.

Multiple headons is definetly one of the most frustrating things you can play against and I am not really interested in making it more common.

  • I just wish they will never touch that perk.
If ever headon will become meta, or just common perk, that will be hell for killers.

If you want to make it easier to use, then nerf duration of stun.

  • @Oputeeva said:

I wouldn't say revert all changes for sure, that's Trickster level overreaction. Give it few weeks and if needed reduce cooldown back to 4 and slow dog vaulting to like 0,6 sec.

  • I have got quite a lot of chill killers during the event (funny is most were russians for some reason).
Definetly more than in normal queue.

My experience is that it's most killers doing this. Not all, but most. It makes the game as survivor pretty unbearable a lot of the time.

Weird, I have played survivors a lot for challenges lately and it happened like 3/4 times to me. Maybe region/MMR thing.

  • All the killers I've played against have had the exact same strategy Sulg the 3rd survivor to looking for 4th survivor

    I highly doubt that.
    Some? Maybe
    Most? Unlikely
    All? Impossible

  • Nah, it just means Chucky was not supposed to get nerfed.

  • I would say PH (definetly) and maybe even Dracula, Bubba, Huntress, Nurse, Blight are better at tunneling anyway…

Maybe don't wait until he is 1 meter away from you?
Chucky was always (now even more) weak against hold W. So if you prerun with Sprint Burst, there is no way he can commit on you.

Also top secret, you don't always have to run in direct line, there are objects on maps for a reason.

So not even trying to correct your statemnent. Seems like we can agree you were wrong.

So your only argument why Chucky should be "fine" after this change, is incorrect. Only thing you have otherwise is complaining and trying to hide behind soloQ for a killer change, which doesn't make much sense.

Some aspect of the killer can be changed to help soloQ (especially when it works primary on soloQ), but in no way it should ever be strict nerf, just because of soloQ.
His nerf made him worse against everyone, it doesn't affect soloQ in any specific way, so it doesn't make sense to try to hide it behind soloQ survivors.

BP incentives have been broken for a long time now. The best I ever get now is 50%, even when survivor queues are super long. Often times there will be a 25% SURVIVOR incentive even when survivor queues are long and killer queues are instant.

Yeah, I have it exactly same.

  • @I_Cant_Loop said:

It depends what time of day you play. I am in US eastern time zone. Killer queues are always longer during the day, but during peak evening hours killer queues are instant as this is when a lot of survivors come to play with friends. It has been this way as long as I can remember. I don't see any indication of change in number of survivor vs. killer players.

When your queue times are instant on killers, do you have 100% BP bonus?

Wouldn't be first time they lied, or can be simply wrong.

But noone can convince me at this point incentives are working. Doesn't make sense when incentive is on role with longer queue time and not by little…
I have not seen 100% bonus in normal game mode for months (I usually play around 21-1). I just miss my BBQ/WGLF, no need to rely on devs to make their features work, when you want to farm BP.

  • If you wanted him to have better map mobility in exchange for compromised chase power

If they wanted this, then they failed and who made it needs to learn math. It simply didn't do anything in terms of mobility compare to previous version.

If you wanted to nerf him, you did it at the wrong place.

Like really, what else can they nerf at this point. He is 110% killer, his "stealth" is told to survivors and scamper is removed. Dash is kinda only thing they can nerf at this point.

So long story short, this update was devastating for Chucky, and achieved nothing but made him less fun.

It also made him lot worse…

Funny they didn't even dare to do it in normal patch, where they would have to actually deal with feedback on PTB and give some reasoning for it in dev update.

Believe it or not, nurse does indeed take skill to play. Granted, you don't need a lot of skill to destroy everyone in public lobbies, but she undeniably has some skill to play, even if her ability completely bypasses most normal chase mechanics.

It is also a lot easier for the devs to change some numbers to nerf other killers than try to nerf nurse whose power fundamentally bypasses the "rules" of the game, so that's probably why she hasn't been touched in a while.

What do you think they should do to "balance" nurse?

What do you think they should do to "balance" nurse?

I have played around 20 games over last few days, kinda out of spite for nerf to Chucky…
You can easily create big difference in how effective and difficult she is.

Trust me, if I say, she is not hard if you use several aura reading perks. There is no guessing, you don't need to know map, or predict how survivors run.

So I would do only two things to Nurse and I think she can take both:

    • remove grabs from blink (it's not basic attack anymore)
    • give her blidness while she charges her blink (just disable aura reading perks)

This way survivors can try to dodge her to lockers (less risky) and try to double back while she charges her blink.
Nurse would finally stop to gatekeep all aura reading perks in DBD.

Difference between his speed and survivor over duration of dash is same.

Total distance covered by Chucky over those 1.8 is actually less.

Time to reach 12 meters is higher.

You will never get a hit against hold W survivor, you wouldn't get before.

You can miss a hit on corners, you would get before.

Your cooldown is higher, because of higher duration and overall cooldown.

Try to use some simple math, when you want to argue about speed and distance. Not difficult…
But if you can't handle elementary level math, I can write it down for you.

At this point, it's better to play Pig. Based on your statement, she covers more distance than him, so should be better, but it simply doesn't work like that.

  • I wouldn't stop playing for perk nerfs. I will get annoyed, when I consider it underserved, but just use something else. There are options on both sides.

Nerfs to specific killers can definetly make me drop DBD for some time, but depends how big impact it has.
I didn't really care about Blight nerfs and still play him, but Skully and now Chucky on other hand… That's a hard no from me.
Well, I have fixed it by starting to play Nurse again. Survivors didn't enjoy playing against Chucky, so good luck now.
