  • Yeah, I have submitted bug report on November 11 and it is still under review.
BP incentives are broken since Lights out event. It is really annoying me, because I used to play simply whoever has 100 bonus.

  • Right now most evil build I am really enjoying is:

    • Jagged Compass
    • Floods of rage
    • Gift of Pain
    • Leverage

I really hope they won't remove Compass interaction with unhooking scourge perks. Will be kinda useless after it…

his dash was basically uncounterable in 99,9% of the loops, and his cooldown post dash was really short (specially with the drill addon, but it´s not like it was needed)

It's not 100% counterable, which no attack should be, but you had many situations where you just needed to win 50/50.

Saying 99% is funny, because it simply doesn't work on most loops as soon I drop pallet. Even if I give Chucky a pallet, I just need to win 50/50 to guess from which side he will run.

His CD post dash was 16,8 at release, then 10,8 with removal of scamper, then 10 when they changed recharging start, then 12 when they "buffed" dash scamper by 0,3 seconds (so nerf) and now 14, where they nerfed both dash and cooldown (logic missing).
Chucky has 3 seconds fatigue on hit and 2,25 on missed attacks.

Blight cooldown on all charges wasted is 10 seconds, fatigue 2,5 seconds
Spirit if she wastes her whole power 15 seconds
Billy has no cooldown basically charge time 2.5 seconds, fatigue 2,5 seconds
Nurse 6 seconds cooldown, charge 2 seconds, fatigue up to 3,5 seconds (2 blinks + missed attack)
Arttist lowest CD is 5 seconds, highest (5 crows) 15 seconds

I think you need to get some perspective of what short cooldown means. His dash has limited flick and range, nothing really special and his cooldown right now is one of highest.
You have many killers, where there is basically no cooldown. Only fatigue and charge time. His cooldown even at his best was not really that short.

Chucky was never OP, survivors just didn't enjoy playing against him. That's it.

I agree. i think increase his cooldown from 10→14 second is bad change. he should remain with 10 second cooldown.

The longer duration for lower movement speed is poorly contructed change. If I was in tasked to buff chucky mobility, I would make his scamper work like Blight's Alchemist Ring where every time you scamper, your Slice & Dice duration is increased by 0.5 seconds up to 3 chains. For reference, Blight's alchemist ring adds 20% extra dash distance per Blight bounce up to 4 slams.

So regular dash would start 1.2 second duration, 1 scamper would be 1.8 second duration slice & dice with 2 scampers would be 2.2 seconds, 3 scampers would be 2.7 seconds. that is how I would approach in constructing the change.

I am not sure to what extent he is worse at loops but he should still be able to play loops because he moves faster than Oni in his demon fury. Demon fury Oni is still able to play loops at ~190% m/s(?).

I am not sure to what extent he is worse at loops

Well, he is slower, which means corners survivors didn't reach before will reach now. Oni can also flick and I will quit DBD if they ever change it.

btw I guess you didn't read edit, it seems very funny to me, so I will copy it here. i wonder if I got it right.

I was just thinking and technically he doesn't gain any distance. Dash is 2.4 extra distance, that's true. Duration is longer, which means longer CD, but also older version would start to walk 0.6 seconds faster. Right?

    0.6*4.4 = 2.64

So isn't current dash worse in reality for map traversal when there is less distance and longer cooldown?

If they wanted to make it for mobility, why not buff scamper and simply lower CD of dash, whenever you perform scamper by like 4 seconds (if they keep current CD)? That would suddenly make it valid to use, because you won't be punished by such a high cooldown and it would be faster than just walk.
Scamper right now is not really good for looping, you can't flick well, so it is very easy to avoid unless survivor just hold W directly from the window/pallet.

So they would make it as map traversal tool (good), then it could justify worse antiloop, but it fails to do so at this moment.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3853472#Comment_3853472

you get 2.4 meters extra to chain between windows. so for example if you have

T-L wall & Drop pallet, you have extra 2.4 meters to connect the 2 vaults. I have seen 0 content creator use chucky this way except Tataru. I sometimes use it as well when i need get to gens quickly. The only player that i have seen use this is Tatariu. Let me find his videos on chucky showcase this play-style because i am sure very few people ever even consider as gameplay tactic.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vhlf8ck5D5s&t=687s

If you watch video a little bit, there are many places where current chucky does not have enough distance to chain vaults and you fall just short. this is what buff is about. the thing is, Chucky spamming his ability for mobility loses his stealth capacity, so this isn't strictly a good strategy in every situation. With the buff, you'll be able to chain vaults like Tatariu does but with 14 second cooldown. it is very impractical.

So you basically needs a good map to even try to use it for map traversal. Even then it's not really good and if you do, you are stuck as 110% killer for 14 seconds with no stealth.

I still see it as a big nerf for Chucky and I am not interested in playing him anymore. He has not a best stealth, not best map traversal (not even close) and I wouldn't say he has best antiloop either at this point.

Third person camera is also not unique to him anymore with Dracula, who is way better killer than Chucky ever was in my opinion.

I personally don't see a reason to play him anymore. I have liked to play him with removal of scamper, he had good dash with low cooldown. Very good antiloop, if survivors gave him a pallet.
But after all those changes his cooldown is only 2.2 seconds lower than when you could use scamper and dash simply weaker. Chucky got simply scammed in last patches.

Btw his cooldown is now only 1 second lower than Spirit (if she uses full phase duration), which is kinda funny to me.

    EDIT:
I was just thinking and technically he doesn't gain any distance. Dash is 2.4 extra distance, that's true. Duration is longer, which means longer CD, but also older version would start to walk 0.6 seconds faster. Right?
    0.6*4.4 = 2.64
So isn't current dash worse in reality for map traversal when there is less distance and longer cooldown?

Youll close the same amount of distance with the survivor in a single dash, but the time to close that distance is longer. Makes it easier for survivors to reach things they wouldn't have reached before. If before, you got a hit right before a survivor made a window or pallet, now...they'll make it.

Yeah, it's worse as antiloop and exactly same as map traversal.

Your cooldown is technically even higher, because it starts when dash ends (which was a nerf from older patch)
So they kinda nerfed his cooldown twice in this patch.

  • uuu, can we get slower gens for each gens finished without any dead survivor?
    Slugging would be lovely.

Just no… most features in 2v8 were highly overtuned on purpose to make it more fun for survivors, or simply more fast paced. They have no place in normal game mode.

  • @Inosennatoki said:

Devs don't care about Chucky anymore after he was killed like Skull merchant.

I mean, he wasn't nerfed that much yet.

But reasoning is still simply survivors don't like to play against him, so he get nerfed… Funny they didn't even bother to justify it during dev update and just put it live without any testing.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/434546/chucky-got-nerf-with-no-scamper-adjustment

technically, they buffed his scamper by making a better map traversal tool but then they also tag a nerf on top of it. this isn't scamper buff that players were looking for, certainly not at the expense of longer chases from cooldown increase.

can they at least buff power drill to 20%?

It's not really better map traversal. At least not when you try to catch up to survivor.

If you do the math, it is equally effective to catch up to survivor as before. You are just worse at loops now with higher cooldown.

now cucky players get to understand how it felt to play against mistake of a killer. Enjoy your clunk

living up to your name, I see….

  • @RFSa09 said:

he was busted and extremly easy to play, he´s still good but slightly weaker🤷‍♂️

How exactly was he busted? He was at no point even close to best killers. Yet alone after Scamper got removed.

  • Nah, I would just create give up system to enable free DC in edge case scenarios (like holding hostage) and then increase the penalty instead.

  • My personal opinion is this is one of worst tier lists in history of DBD, if you haven't noticed.

  • That's one of the worst tier lists I have ever seen…
    Smash Hit S tier, lol

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    Isn't that just most killers?

    Not really,
you have few high skill high reward like Billy, Blight, Nurse etc.
then low skill high reward, which was basically why Freddy and Skully got gutted.

Then you have many killers, where they are not super strong, but often not really hard to play.

  • @Emeal said:

You can all jump into Unreal Engine right away and start making a map, bHVR does not need to make a map maker engine for you.

They could implement it into custom games, so it is easily accessible for normal players.

With such a system, if they allow feedback for custom maps, they could also implement most popular maps into base game.

  • @SidneysBane1996 said:

It just means the queues are mostly balanced. If you're seeing high BP incentives you're seeing people not wanting to play that side as much.

This is correct, but that last bit of bias wasn't really necessary. Both sides have scrubs who try to blame anything but themselves for their losses. Both sides also have people who are perfectly reasonable who still think issues (including the side the play less of) are important.

I am killer main btw, I just hate hypocrits.

Both sides have reasonable players, entitled players, and many sore losers/winners.
I have talked about "Killers who cry", which seems quite specific to me, I am not talking about killers in general.

Simply if you run full meta build, try to tunnel and then complain on anti-tunneling perks, then it's just pathetic. But same goes for survivors.

  • No, it definetly can't stay.

I wouldn't just nerf it, just return back to 10% and give it some additional small effect.

  • I mean, people asked to buff weaker perks. Deathbound was terrible perk before, so seems like people asked.

  • Current status: 25% incentive for survivors, yet queue times don't match it.

5 attemts for killers all between 17-23 seconds

2 attempts for survivors are 86 seconds, 93 seconds.

    Time: 0:43
    EU server

  • Antitunnel perks are equally as crutch as slowdown perks. They are not…

I would say both are required to use, if you want to win majority of your games.

Killers who cry about antitunnel perks are just sad they lost, because of it.

Issue is voice chat in DBD would basically shutdown any other soloQ improvement. I would prefer something that majority of players are going to use for better games than just for toxic reasons.

    Sadists thank you.

We do like her, and while we'd like some qol for them, they're perfectly playable and often fun as is. For an example, in a similar vein to what deathslinger can do, we had snug pull some injured smuck out the exit. Satisfying to land, extremely entertaining to experience. Search works well as a map mobility tool and a way to guard either a gen or gate (we we're correct, the snap is where the model is pointing too for some reason).

I am pretty sure enjoying buggy mess and getting screwed by questionable AI is masochist.

Search is not that good for mobility, because of Snug's pathing. He is not running shortest path most of the times. I would definetly want some lingering effect there, which should be fine when it doesn't work in chase anyway.
I would personally want him to run few meters behind the target I chose (gen/totem). As a survivor, I can dodge detection on reaction, basically when I hear dog, I run away from gen and he won't detect me, because he stops there, which seems flawed to me.

Chase is hard to tell until they fix bugs. But situation where there is another survivor nearby (so long range chase is useless) and surivvor is dragged by Snug to a pallet were very annoying to me.

Rulebreaker above us appears to be one of said "people in the room with us". :)

Your opinion is she's bad because bugs, your opinion is also objective because it's clear people play her DESPITE the bugs, people like her DESPITE the bugs. I'm more than certain that most of the type of people fine with Houndmaster are not on forums like these debating how good or bad she is, or worrying at ALL where she lies on a random tierlist some Youtuber made. And the ones that are, don't care about tierlists and strength anyway - they still are playing her. Like Rulebreaker, apparently.

Instead of worrying what others may or may not think and why they're OBVIOUSLY wrong (in your opinion), just don't play her if she's bad for you. After all people play Ghostface and he's also buggy. And HIS strength level is just s debatable, some people call him low B and others call him D. Houndmaster is in the same boat. I've heard everything from B to C to D and even someone calling her an A tier (which I think we both know is ludicrous).

Outside of the bugs? I think she's about a low B high C. Fix the bugs and that's where she's at IMHO. She's seeing play, so obviously not EVERYONE finds her "miserable to play as".

You are welcome to disagree with me, but please do not act dismissive with the whole "is this in the room right now" comment again, it's rude and not necessary to this discussion.

Rulebreaker above us appears to be one of said "people in the room with us"

Seems there are some extreme masochists here…

Your opinion is she's bad because bugs, your opinion is also objective because it's clear people play her DESPITE the bugs, people like her DESPITE the bugs

Majority doesn't. They play her, because she is new killer and she has a dog.

Without changes, she will end same as Singularity and Twins.

You are welcome to disagree with me, but please do not act dismissive with the whole "is this in the room right now" comment again, it's rude and not necessary to this discussion.

That was a reference to meme… Sadly seems like didn't land.

just don't play her if she's bad for you

Well, I am not going to, but I can still say my suggestions about what's wrong and how I would fix it.

I wouldn't buff chase until bugs are fixed, it's simply impossible to tell right now how good it is.
Search needs buffs imo, it's not really buggy, it's just bad.

They are doing 2 hotfixes and balance changes to her this month. I dont think it will take a year or 2.

what is downside of unlocking first tier when you purchase the character?

You DO that already, ON THAT CHARACTER only tho.

    Well, that's useless.

I want to be able to put BP only to survivor/killer I actually want to play with. Seems weird I am forced to put over 1M BP to character I want a single perk from.

If they unlocked first tier upon purchase of character, I don't need to waste my OP on them unless I go for full unlocking, or want to play them.

  • @Emeal said:

Ah, au contraire. I just recently had the pleasure of introducing 3 friends to the game during the excellent 2v8.
I knew it would wet their whistle for the game, one of them even decided to become a Deathslinger main.

Being a Veteran does not mean I have to be biased, I told my friends not to reply on perks to do their best, but learn to play and not to worry much about winning and losing, its about making a play that matters and getting your team-mates out even if we dont make it. We didn't use perks in 2v8 only Skills, but them tried they all anyway found their favorites they even made great headway on P1 every character in the base game during the first week of 2v8.

If you think I have been lying to my friends, that they wont have a chance without those perks, that they NEED them or the NEED addons then I encourage you to demonstrate it, Though I think you will fail because you can unlock alot even with your first game of dbd. An Emergency Medkit is only 3250bps.

Ofc. non of them stepped up and told me, "Sorry man the only reason I play this game is to see numbers go up and have everything."
play Cookie Clicker for that :D

Sure you can say that, but when it comes to bHVR to make the decision, would they pick to maintain the current system or swap unless they really REALLY have to. Why take the risk? Why make a change that could mess up or it could have the INVERSE effect leading to people getting burned out.

I'm sure bHVR has a plan and know what they are doing and if things are going in a bad direction they will correct it.
Do you remember those Surveys, they always put, how do you feel like the grind is right now? So I'm sure its checked.

I'm sure bHVR has a plan and know what they are doing and if things are going in a bad direction they will correct it.

You have way more trust in bHVR than I ever had…

Like really what is downside of unlocking first tier when you purchase the character? It would make things so much easier for starting players.

  • @Emeal said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3851022#Comment_3851022

True, but this comes with a bunch of complications, blood point economy, tons of items, 4 brand new parts or massive supply of double battery flashlight combos. This may have a negative effect on player numbers, personally its bad enough to see that after that massive bloodpoint event last year. If it can be done without disrupting other parts I think bHVR would do it instantly.

This may have a negative effect on player numbers

I can say same about current system. I am condifent current grind of unlocking perks is losing many new players.

I would personally simply unlock first tier of perks as soon you purchase the character, that way players can keep putting BP only to character they want to play, not waste 1M BP to any character they want perk from. This doesn't affect BP amount, doesn't affect items, offerings etc.

I personally have all character prestige 3 and just work on prestige 100, but current system won't let me get my friends back to DBD.

  • @Emeal said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3851024#Comment_3851024

Pointing out that the majority isnt collector players, isnt speaking for the majority.
I have not denied anybody the right to post or their opinion or pretended as if I should have a say on that matter.

Secondly I don't say this because its my opinion, I say it because there are many pitfalls and issues with messing with incentives.

A quick boost to satisfy a few collector players can have long term repercussions for all players, Game Design is a fascinating subject. Many games have tried these things before and its been studies and theorized, I want to base my understanding on that knowledge not what I internally want. We can discuss these things if you want.

At the end of the day, I want bHVR to make good decisions and that comes from well reasoned discussions which we can have here.

I am completely fine with 100 prestige to be hard to get, that doesn't affect player's gameplay in any way.

But current way of unlucking perks is just terrible. It costs both money and time, this is one of very few games, where this is true.

I get you don't want to be overwhlemed with too many BPs, which would waste time, but there are other fixes for this issue.

Current way of unlocking perks is highly not noob friendly, which I see as an issue. Right now, I wouldn't recommend DBD to any new player, if I lost my account, then I wouldn't start again.

  • I have played against it, but it was easy game. No slowdown, so he ended with 0 hooks…

You simply can't even try to cleanse, just do gens and hope you will be faster than 5 hooks (which is possible against 0 slowdown).

  • What I like:

    • dog visual
    • dog name

    What could be improved:

    • everything else
  • Yeah, I don't think she needs that major buffs, but definetly few minor buffs and tons of QoL features and bug fixes.
Sadly it's unlikely for her to be in decent state for like a year or two.

  • @Emeal said:

One major error tho, You only need to get a character to P1, as you can level up perks from there individually. P3, only gets you savings on like 6 level ups for each character of that type which is good for veterans, but not needed for casual players.

In essence you can slash your numbers in 3.

We are also assuming a player needs all perks unlocked to enjoy the game, which is false.
Some players cant sit still if they have not unlocked everything, but they are not the majority.

We are also assuming a player needs all perks unlocked to enjoy the game, which is false

if you don't want players who want/needs it talk for majority, don't do it yourself.

It's false for you. You have exactly same right to talk for majority as OP does, which is 0. All you can talk about is your experience, but you always like to talk as you are majority in posts about BP.

I know I am extreme example, but I personally want to have unlocked everything.

I would say you are one of extremes too and don't mind this grind at all.

I can talk at least for 4 people tho, because 3 my friends, who started with me, all dropped DBD with grind as only reason.

  • @Emeal said:

But the leveling up of characters is almost entirely independent of the gameplay, the times a perk really comes up as a difference in games is absurdly little, just a few percent in the in the end. The reason the bloodweb exist is to give you something to do while waiting to be in a game, its not the main entertainment, that is what the trials are for. Its just there to keep you entertained while you wait and get stuff for the next trial.

Being bored of the game due to bloodweb is like getting bored talking to an NPC in an RPG, or bored because you need to find a trainer to buy the next level spell in WoWClassic. If your friends get bored of the bloodweb, tell them to alt-tab or watch a video on their phone while you guys wait in queue.

A new player only has to gain 10 million BPS to unlock everything that could potentially mean anything for all characters they have by default in trials. but the thing is you dont need all perks, you infact dont need any. New players should worry about their Skill as players in the game and stop chasing the next new big perk that they NEED TO WIN. its a waste of their money when a new perk drops. Like I don't even think bHVR developers would approve of that attitude and they make money of this.

You can always increase value of single BP. Basically reduce BP amount needed per 1 prestige.

I personally play to grind BP, so I am not motivated to play if noone has at least 50% bonus. I miss old BBQ…

  • I have submitted bug report on this (11.11.2024), but still under review.
Yesterday I have seen 50% for killers since light out event, so that's something.

That's extremely objective, I find Wesker miserable to control on a controller but plenty of people love him and find his controls great. I find Huntress intolerably sluggish but lots of people love Huntress. I find Pinhead isn't that hard on controller but many people find him intolerable on controller.

I'm sure plenty of people are fine with Houndmaster, despite her bugs. You're just not one of them, and that's okay. Nobody's making you play her. I do hope her bugs get fixed though.

I'm sure plenty of people are fine with Houndmaster

are those people in room with us?

There are killers that are definetly not console friendly, or hard to control. But she is simply buggy and her power unreliable.

  • @SidneysBane1996 said:

Not every Killer has to be A tier to be good.

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

They need to knock it down to 12%.

I think giving it a smaller buff is fine but 14% was way over the top.

I would prefer 10% and give it some additional effect… Could be more interesting than just slower cleansing and often less problematic.

  • Doesn't really make sense to nerf totems on global scale, when most of them are not really good.

Just revert the change and buff Thrill in any other way than just %.

  • Still would trash, but less trash…

Like really what is point of the effect? Remember me and No way out are doing kinda same gate delay, but you don't need to do anything.

If you want the perk to be counter against 99 gates, then simply make it, so with this perk progress on gates will slowly regress. If you have to do it yourself and only 2 times, it's simply terrible and waste of dev's time.

  • Oh, I was expectecting some ideas to actually help soloQ. You just want to buff survivors in general and hide it as soloQ change.

  • I would love Irish Wolfhound

  • Would you mind explaining, why Singularity is so difficult for you?

I have never had an issue with him, but I am used to most of his aspects from Hag and Twins.

  • I would like grandpa to be 115%, otherwise I am fine with him.

  • I would be fine with first idea bascially if change slowdown per totem. Have it fixed % all the time until Thrill get cleansed.

  • Just show me who used my offering (even when not all survivors used offering), that's all I want.

  • I wouldn't fix it on global scale. It's kinda fun thing and can be used as additional counterplay.

I am fine with crouch tech working on Blight and Billy, they are strong enough to deal with it, but I would definetly remove it for Demo at least.

  • Sure, if you buff both initial and additional duration, so it has better value for other killers.

1 … 35 36 37 38 39 … 42
