The sound bugs are driving me crazy.
I can definetly understand that, I play a lot by sound, so such bugs always throw me off.
-
How many changes will killer mains need to not complain anymore and you guys stop babysitting them
Yeah, don't put this on killer mains… We just asked pallet density "QoL" is reverted on most of changed maps, because it was not needed there at all. Most players were fine with changes on Borgo, or Haddonfield.
The fact devs are not capable of mild chages and needed to bring nuke on pallets has nothing to do with killer mains.Ah and this chapter is full of bugs, especially sound bugs.
True, also devs fault.

@Pulsar said:
Because there were people who wanted this, and people celebrating this, and more saying people are overreacting.
At least from comments I have read it seemed to be minority.
Before this patch what I have seen most what basically just asking for revert of previous "QoL" change. Except few maps, which actually needed it like Borgo, or Haddonfield.
So I would say devs should be blamed for current situation, not killers in general. -
Tools for antislugging are about the same, no?
Unless you want to tell me survivors were using Syringe as antislugging tool…
Unbreakable, WGLF are still great.
I really enjoy using Plot twist, which was actually buffed for some reason.
Sure conviction got nerfed, but only requirement not the effect. As someone who was using it, I 100% think the change was deserved.
Slugging is not really an issue since abandon feature in my opinion and the feature on PTB was problematic.
Camping went live and I really like we can finally see it on HUD. Tunneling at least got 5 extra seconds of unhook protection which is not really a small increase.
I was using Babysitter before and just keep using it. That alone makes tunneling way more difficult. Don't really care if killer tries to tunnel me.
I would be fine with the patch if they did not screw pallets so much.
Well, not really. Massive changes that needs to be reverted are always bad, because they were not supposed to even get to PTB… -

Then SM isn’t the survivors fault, it’s BHVR that botched it.
Then Antitunnel and Antislug isn’t the survivors fault, it’s BHVR that botched it.
Then SM isn’t the survivors fault, it’s BHVR that botched it.
Then Antitunnel and Antislug isn’t the survivors fault, it’s BHVR that botched it.
That's correct.
I can have an issue with specific players, based on their opinions and ideas. But blame for this outcome is fully on devs.
I am definetly not going to blame whole player group for something outside of their control. -
Good time to take a break from DBD.
Luckily we are having steam sales, so I have lot of games to play anyway… -

We asked for revert, because their pallet density "QoL" was ridicilous on some maps. Noone would care if they made it for just Borgo and Haddonfield.
Just because devs screwed it is not really killers fault… -

Honestly that’s what I thought they were going to be doing…Focused on cleaning the bugs up…I just don’t get it…
They were ambitious thinking they will manage to fix major issues players have. But they didn't bother to use their consultants as usual…
Lot of those should not leave drawing table, but I guess devs think they know better and this is the result. -

Ironically I made the same last suggestion because it would help in the case that a survivor hugs another survivor for endurance hits. Griefing is at least bannable if proved. Bringing those protections to the game with no early deactivation to prevent using it offensively is a worse alternative I feel.
Griefing is at least bannable if proved.
Wouldn't really help me with the fact I am dead because of someone else mistake…
Also good luck proving it was intencional and not just survivor didn't know how it works.@Leon_van_Straken said:

The Killer leaves your Terror Radius or a certain distance to avoid undetectable things
I brought this point up because if the Killer leaves your terror Radius after you have been unhooked you aren´t tunneld right?
Yeah I see the problem if the Killer is lingering far away with his dashes. So maybe give a base time to elusive which stops ticking down while you are in the Terrorradius of the Killer.
It might be fine overall with your conditions, if it simply couldn't deactive before normal 10/15 seconds limit. But if one of those conditions mentioned was true after it, you lose the effect sooner. That might work…
Worst case scenario for survivors would be it works same as before. -
@Leon_van_Straken said:
Just bring it to the game but give it following conditions.
You can´t be attacked for the Killer as long as the Status Effect is up.
The Status Effect ends when following occurs:
- Doing anything else than running, crouching, walking, pallet dropping or vaulting (because if you can do something else the Killer isn´t tunneling you.
- The Killer leaves your Terror Radius or a certain distance to avoid undetectable things…
- You run in a certain distance to another Survivor for to long.
Someone unhappy with this?
The Killer leaves your Terror Radius or a certain distance to avoid undetectable things
Not sure how that would work, where you have high mobility killers who basically don't need to be anywhere near hook and get there in few seconds.
You run in a certain distance to another Survivor for to long
That would be nice for griefers… I would be very annoyed if someone on purpose, or just didn't know, run same way from the killer just for me to lose endurance.
Unless I would lose only elusive, that's not that bad then. -
From Operation Health to Operation Revert…
As always thinking big just to fail miserably. Would be better for everyone if they just focused on bug fixes instead. -
I would love to see expected queue times in 1v4, because in my experience bonuses often don't reflect reality, for more than a year at this point.
-
I mainly fail to understand who thought it's good idea to combine so many changes at once.
- pallet density
- anti-tunneling
- anti-slugging
- anti-camping
- killer incentives
Like if they just focused on anti-tunneling / killer incentives and see how it will affect the balance, it might work. But trying to do everything at once simply could not end well. They are simply not capable of such big changes.
They should have just use that time for more bug fixes…

The good swfs are probably tired of all the tunneling, so they run those builds…
When I used to play full SWF I either wanted to get Nurse/Blight or killer try to tunnel. That was kinda only point where game got difficult and we had to actually try…
Funny is even right now when killer tunnels, in most cases I am more annoyed by my teammates when they don't know what to do about it rather than killer doing it.
Sadly even all buffs on PTB won't be able to fix incompetency. -
@hermitkermit said:
I disagree with the concept that tunneling would cease to exist if Gens were made longer. If the game is easier to win when you tunnel then it doesn’t matter if it takes 10 minutes to do 1 gen, people will still tunnel. It is not impossible to win without tunneling, it’s just more difficult to do.
It is not impossible to win without tunneling
It's definetly not impossible, but some games will be impossible to get comeback. Especially if you can't even slug in endgame…
If they don't remove that anti-slugging feature when all gens are finished, I will just stop moving as soon survivors finish all gens, because there is simply nothing I can do at that point to win the game. You simply don't have time to hook. RIP endgame builds -

players learning how to play against the M1 killer
Kaneki is not even close to being classic M1 killer. He is M1 killer on level of Spirit. Technically yes, but he doesn't play as one and survivors also can't play against him as if he is M1 killer.

thing is this isnt possible bc of him not being able to down with his power. if he has to wait out for his power to fully deplete (if he hasnt used all leaps) then hes just a worse legion…
I am fine with him canceling after his dash and slide ends, so if he managed to position himself near survivor even his low fatigue is fine.
Also his last dash doesn't slide, so he can use that in loops try to bodyblock survivors.
His power can't technically down survivors, but he can definetly use his power to down survivors.
This is like saying Spirit/Dredge power can't down survivors… Technically no, but it gets them to position where down is secured. -
I am just not interested in playing against him as long he can just fully cancel his dash whenever he wants. That just makes him super easy in my opinion.
Remove that so he is more open for missplays and survivors can try to double back, if they see he aimed his dash too close.
Or just increase his fatigue to Legion level, but that's worse option for everyone imo.
Kinda funny how you want his power to become better chase tool, while whole premise for free injury is having issue downing survivors… -

We just need a low-priority queue for people who ragequit. The best punishment is having those people play with each other really. You could have the grace be like one free DC per day, anymore than that and you're thrown into low prio for 6 or so hours and scales up from there. To keep queue times managable Killers could have the option to opt into low priority matches for a bloodpoint bonus or something like that.
I would love to see Behavior system that's in Dota used for DBD.
-
I don't think it's needed to double nerf him, just losing 2 tokens on manual pallet breaking would be good enough in my opinion.
-
I don't think you can really change it. Doesn't matter if you make BP, MMR, endgame result hook based.
Even for survivors, it simply doesn't matter if you escaped with 0, or 2 hooks. Either you managed or not.You would have to completely redesign the game system, so it's not about individual escapes at all and that's never going to happen.
What is it about the current state of things that makes you think BHVR are balancing for kills over hooks
Quests/Challenges, MMR, BP, Entity feedback, effect on the game (kill vs hook)
-
I rather won't even guess, because if you guess right your price is ban for leaking :D

It's also not really an example of sportsmanship…
You write "ez/easy" to annoy your opponent. That kinda fits to "toxic" category in my opinion. -
Well, 2v8 is quite survivor sided, so way more survivors escape and get on power trip.
Also so many resources around, so it's very easy for survivors to get chases they only dream about in 1v4. -
I have used WoO for several months and I am not sure it really helped me "become" better looper. I had better chases for sure, but not really because I improved…
This year I removed it, because survivors become kinda boring for me with it.
It can definetly help you learn loops, but you basically need to focus on learning spawns. Most people just use WoO turn off brain and follow yellow. They are not trying to remember spawns. -

Current Krasue is pretty much a bully material. Ghoul, idk the only thing unfun about him is the instant cancel after leap. I hate going against Billies as they chainsaw you 5m behind corner ignoring any surfaces. I like going against Houndmaster, Pig, Nemesis, Pinhead, Unknown, Spirit…
If Ghoul couldn't just cancel his dash whenever he wants, then I would be mostly fine with him.

Name killers that are fun to go against. Luckily the fun is more on the killer side.
I really like to play against Billy, Wesker, Unknown, Dracula, Huntress, Animatronic, Deathslinger, PH.
Most killers for me are in "ok" category, where it can be specific playstyle annoying, but not really whole killer.
Then you have killers where I will rather go next, which for me are Ghoul and Krasue. -
I really don't consider her weak at all. I am so happy I don't have to deal with her that much.
She is direct contestant with Ghoul for the title of most boring killer to play against. -

Thought evil incarnet was an achievement I would never get but I got it before Myre's update but two I know I'll probably never get are
Skilled Huntress: 1. I play on PS5 aka the only console that requires 100 hits from 24 meters away...I'm at 4 and also no idea what 24 meters is in the game as the game doesn't have score event saying hey you got a 24 meter away hit like Deathslinger has where there is one for 12 to 18 meters away. Oh wait did I say no I meant downs...I have two down not hit oh silly me I thought this achievement would've be slightly more favorable. Super easy change...make it just hitting or if you wanna go all in change the playstation version to 10 like everyone else
Don't open, Dead inside
So fun story when I transitioned from PS4 to PS5 I didn't get all my achievements logged so some I had to restart luckily most were adepts and stuff like Hand-Eye coordination made it through. But other ones minus powers or very new chapters were the gen related ones. If I had Don't open, dead inside on the PS4 version of the game I would be surprised since I haven't gotten it at all...because I never have gotten the map at all and I know fallen refuge is still in the game and it's not a weird glitch. Yesterday I got maybe four Toba landings in one day which is insane but since the walking dead chapter came out which at the time of writing this was 101 days ago I haven't gotten Fallen Refuge once well I did has killer but knowing how bad the map is I let the survivors get the achievement. I know map offerings won't work has the times I did I got one of the other two maps that it shares a realm with. So yeah Don't Open, Dead inside is probably never gonna be completed since I have never gotten the map to begin with I think I have played on every map since the walking dead chapter came our except for that one.
I play on PS5 aka the only console that requires 100 hits from 24 meters away
Yeah, I have just farmed it… It's possible to get survivors to cooperate, let them work on gens and just snipe from distance.
Don't open, Dead inside
That's mostly about luck, but you will get it sooner or later (most likely later). Hopefully they will rebalance that map at some point so it's not so insanely killer sided.
When I play there I usually let survivors finish it and escape… -
@Xord said:
It's absolutely ridiculous to pretend there is "a ton" of anti tunnel mechanics when they butchered what was a perfectly good PTB last time and only gave us a temu version of it.
Tunneling is barely addressed here, we need to briong back punishments for tunneling and give more incentives not to tunnel.
One thing you fail to understand here is that killers will never get a buff until tunneling is actually addressed because if killers are viable, and can tunnel on top of it, survivors will massively quit the game and survivor is the role you need 4 times as killers for the game to even be alive.survivors will massively quit the game and survivor is the role you need 4 times as killers for the game to even be alive.
You fail to understand how this works at point we already have enough players in this game. Who do you think have more impact on leaving 1 survivor, or 1 killer?
Killer players leaving the game is going to have visible effect on the game way faster, because for every killer leaving there are 4 survivors without the game… -
@ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:
Its a one use perk. On 1 hook in the entire map. That the killer can figure out if you are trying to get hooked there. And only works once. I'm not that convinced itl change the game entirely
Selfunhook is one of best effects survivors have, doesn't really matter it's only 1 when it removes all pressure from the killer.
It may be one hook, but nothing stops me from just running into the basement and enter last locker. In most maps killer won't be able to hook my anywhere else.
And with new update I will even get free unbreakable if killer won't hook me there. -

Drones doing nothing out of chase is fine for me. I said they can make lock on decayable and return the claw trap on hack so you have more infor through game.
Thing is there is not really reason to disarm right now when it doesn't affect survivors on gens. You can easily ignore all drones.
-
For example, after a survivor is left on the ground for x amount of time the entity auto-hooks them.
Hooking survivor waste quite a lot of time, this would make it even better idea to slug survivors.
-
So it does something when survivors are injured and it's not possible to M1?
I often use it, if I found two survivors, or simply if survivor reached an area I don't want to chase. I can just drop the chase and keep at least some pressure. But if he gets deep wounds for breaking the chain and for hitting you after he pulls you to him, why isn´t injure enough
I would say that's mainly QoL thing, it doesn't change his strength that much, but would be kinda weird if you want to apply deep wound, but survivor doesn't struggle.
-
@Elan said:
Some of those ideas are good. The problem is that her issue was that survivors had too less of a information what is going on. Current Merchant is ez to understand. If she deploys drone, she's stealthy for the moment and if you get scanned three times you get injured, therefore you have to crouch to force m1 before third scan.
An issue is when lines are always visible it just means drones are completely useless outside of chase.
Stealth drones made it that you had at least a chance for survivors to run into them. Instead of completely removing this, they should have just remove broken, so it's less punishing. -
From your list it would make sense for Ghoul and maybe Houndmaster.
Rest is not even close strong enough to receive strict nerfs.
Could it be changed to prevent/reduce their ability to tunnel? Sure, but they would need some buffs to compensate. -
where there were no perks, add ons or offerings.

you aren’t 100% dead. I’ve done it a few times and players have escaped via hatch.
Ok, so 99%… Pig needs to leave you so you even have chance to find hatch in this situation.
You can escape with active trap, but that doesn't really happen if she follows you. -

Another big thing for this year was the pushback of lots of content in order to fix things with quality of life, only for most of it to cause more problems, the content held back to end up more broken or of lowest quality the game has ever seen, the unnecessary nerfing of p100s when it comes to event offerings and 2 of the most hated killers by the entire playerbase since skull merchant - within the same year.
But atleast we got Jim
the unnecessary nerfing of p100s
That pissed me off so much… Definetly wanted to waste all my BP into p100 character, it would make sense for them to find more cakes, not the opposite
and they had audacity to call it "slightly less" cakes, lol
-
Stealth killers are usually just soloQ stompers, but as soon you play against group who will do callouts, it won't be that easy.
Also highly map dependant, sure it works great against almost any group if you are on Lery's, but open maps can kinda remove your power.
-
Well, you are 100% dead if she decides to do it, but you can force her to down/hook you when you just start solving the box in front of her.
You are still screwed, but it's not difficult to get 3 escapes out of this. I would say it's basically form of tunneling, just worse. -

Even some killers with mobility are outdated or underpowers as hell demogorgan (outdated and weak), sadako (weak, all her power is just her tv and if survivors arent new she is just m1 with poor stealth).
Many bettter bomility killers like springtrap can be preruned, dreadge same if he doesnt tp to locker and survivor is super close to it or next to it.
Just because killer can teleport, it doesn't mean it's good mobility…
Freddy, Unknown, Xeno, Dredge, Sadako, Demogorgon, Springtrap technically have it, but it's far worse compare to Blight, Kaneki, or Billy.
It all comes down to how quickly you can get where you want and what are your limitations for it. But you could make all of them valid with mostly number changes…Killers without any mobility are limited with this and it can't be easily changed.
-
Killers without mobility are playable, but it's for sure a limitation for them.
Lack of mobility is going to create games where you simply can't win. Kinda all survivors need to do is prerun and end their chases in corner…
I would say bigger issue is massive power creep with some recent killers. It's not like killers without mobility got worse, but they just look trash compare to recent killers. -
So far I would say this patch is heavily survivor sided, where killers don't really get much from it.
I am looking forward for it as a survivor, because it will create perk slot for me (I am currently using Babysitter).
I don't care that much as a killer, because I usually just stack slowdown which gives me enough time to spread hooks.
What I worry about is how casual killers are going to handle it, we already have quite a long queue times on survivors (I play only evenings), where I often have to wait from 3-5 minutes and this patch is likely to make it a lot worse.
I don't have much time to play and definetly don't want to wait in lobby majority of time I have…I really hope antislugging is not going to work in endgame, otherwise killer can as well give up. At that point I am going to support abandon feature for killers in end game.

Like sure, not even that many perks can fix incompetency, but that's not issue of the change. -
Well, basically general definitation would be hooking survivor at least twice repeatedly in order to kill them quickly.
But main thing is, not all instances are problematic in my opinion. Sometimes survivors are the one who created situation for it, or killer simply has to do it in order to win.
I consider it to be an issue only when killer does it since start of the game, kinda same for slugging. -
I don't think game is in good spot, but sadly steam charts suggest otherwise…
It doesn't really matter what you think about state of the game, as long people keep playing it's not relevant.

Oh, just because only a few takes the effort to show it on their stream for views, it's too hard for anyone else to do the same?
Nobody should be able to exploit a game and completely deny their opponents from ever winning.
If that's the issue in your opinion, then I can say same about squads escaping under 3 minutes. Also not much to there…
Also not like we have never seen high survivor escape streaks. At what number it becomes an issue for you? 100, 500, 1000?
-
If you mean while using the perk, so it doesn't happen you drop the pallet while killer carry you away and nothing happens, then sure.
