The outcome would be even more pallets tho…
Devs have trouble balancing maps with 1 type of pallet and you think it's going to be better with 2? -
I have been playing Trickster a lot before his "rework". Not really interested in him anymore.
-
Well, game does not provide feedback that would suggest it as valuable thing. You get feedback for kills only.
Even their MMR system (flawed as it is) cares only about kills, so players don't really have a reason to treat it otherwise. It's not like survivors care about hooks either, it's simply escape or not.
You basically care about hook stages only in comp. -
I would really want to see chat wheel, but voice/text chat would make soloQ worse in my opinion.
-
Because she has lower TR it should be still possible to sneak up to survivors. This change would suck if she had standard TR.
But timing is going to be more difficult with lower duration. -
@Choaron said:
Yep. You hook a different surv from the last → gain Bloodlust T1 → do it again → get T2 → do it again → get T3, as well as for every subsequent consecutive unique hook. Resets if you break the chain by hooking the same surv twice in a row. Most obvious solution but apparently was too complicated to come up with.
Ok, that sounds as cool alternative…
-
Yeah, I don't understand why they didn't match the previous speed with Bloodlust 2, when bloodlust is so much less "abusable", especially when you lose it with entering the chase.

As I said in that situation, tunnel and get the ONE kill you got. Sure.
But you shouldn't get constant 3/4 kills doing that.
And Playing killer sounds boring to you? Then don't? No one forces you?And Playing killer sounds boring to you? Then don't? No one forces you?
I enjoy current version and I am fine with PTB version, you are the one unhappy about it, so maybe you should listen to your own advice and not play.

Killer simply needs to remove player at 1/2 gens in order to win, if you completely remove tunneling + slugging, you create situations where I can as well stop playing the game at that point, because I know I can't win it.That's exactly why tunneling needs to be absolutely destroyed, it should be possible to get a kill at 2 gens left without rushing all 3 hook stages on one survivor, and survivor shouldn't be at an automatic loss if one person is dead at 2 generators lost.
Oh back to buff M1 killers, lol. As I said, it's not possible to get most killers on level where 8 hooks are expected. That would be most boring thing ever.
Both tunneling and slugging has play in DBD in my opinion.Again, YES BUFF KILLERS. Tunneling and slugging shouldn't be the only way to play killers, killers should be able to play the game with the chase mechanic AND win.
It's not healthy that to win, a killer has to avoid playing the game…That's exactly why tunneling needs to be absolutely destroyed, it should be possible to get a kill at 2 gens left without rushing all 3 hook stages on one survivor, and survivor shouldn't be at an automatic loss if one person is dead at 2 generators lost.
It already is possible in many games, but what exactly should I do when I get to 1 gen left and only 1 survivor is dead hook?
Neither slugging, or tunneling would become an option, so I can just go afk…Tunneling and slugging shouldn't be the only way to play killers, killers should be able to play the game with the chase mechanic AND win.
So you say tunneling and slugging should not be the only way, but you want basically create only one way how to play the game. How is that better? It just sounds boring to me.
As I claimed before, only way how to make this work is to drastically reduce chase times. Chase is the most fun thing in the game for survivors, so reducing that can't end well.

it absolutely 100% prevent ALL cases of tunneling. Otherwise what's the point?
The goal right now is to entirely remove tunneling so that killer as a role can be buffed, buffs that can not happen without making tunneling a completely non viable strat.
The only situation where tunneling should still be done is if a killer gives up and just wants to finish with one kill.it absolutely 100% prevent ALL cases of tunneling. Otherwise what's the point?
Point is so it nerfs playstyle where players always try to tunnel, that is going to be much harder.
It doesn't really affect me, when I go for it once for the kill later in the game.

I have camping for that…
-
I wouldn't say killer is "easier" than survivors, but that depends on specific killer. I can for sure say it's more stressful role.
-
It's not supposed to stop tunneling in general and it also shouldn't.
This basically makes it you have better chance fighting tunneling even without any perk used for it, which is good imo. Those unhook effects are not really weak…

Thats no fun. A comm system would help solo a lot and it would attract more players to play the game. More players=more revenue. It would be a lot of fun and killers could slug, camp and tunnel all they wanted.
Yeah, I would turn it off asap with this community.
Comm system won't fix useless teammates, quite the opposite. If I wanted to talk with them, I would just go find group on Discord, not like it's hard…
Chat wheel is "safe", simple and effective.

It read BS before on the survivor side, it did not look normal before the change. Now It looks fine like they actually moved there. Flicking so quick not even the server knew what happened on time is utter BS.
Survivors can still out maneuver the current one you just have to respect where it can happen, there is time to react now.
So no, don't take what I said out of context lol read what I say please after the fact and put 2 and 2 together, instead of cherry picking.Oh, so it's just about visual… Not really balancing

Thing is so can Oni, I can adjust at any point. Before I had to decide where I want to end and just end there. If survivor did something I didn't expect, then it worked for them.

No, you said "he felt BS to go against before when he could do them easily.".
Why it was BS? Because he was able to hit around corners? Well, he can do it now and it's easier than ever before. I really wouldn't say it was easy before. Before it was something I could respect, because Oni had to put lot of hours into it to do it reliably. That's not really the case anymore.

But just, why? Why wouldn't it be possible? Btw, not all killers have mobility. Nurse, while being an anomaly in the game, has terrible map mobility (yes she teleports but she walks very slowly and has huge cooldowns making a 4.6 killer walk around the map faster, even accounting for the teleport).
Mobility helps a ton but old Billy had tons of mobility and wasn't exactly in a good spot. Wessker is a good exemple of a solid killer without mobility. Nemesis as well.
It's difficult to make a killer S Tier without mobility but a solid B or A Tier? Absolutely, and it should be the goal.
You can also overall buff the M1, as it's already be done in the past. Maybe buff pallet breaking or slightly reduce stun durations, window vaulting… etc…
That being said I think killers with low mobility or bad chase options suffer from maps more than anything. Some maps have dozens of god pallets while some of the new maps are really small with maybe 5/6 good pallets total in the map…Issue is to match top tier killers, or improve weaker killers in general to compensate lack of map pressure you have to make them highly oppresive in 1v1 so they are able to end chases fast.
That's exactly what we have seen with Clown, he was easily able to end any chase quickly and it was very annoying to play against. Yet he was still worse than Blight/Nurse. -

Removing slugging/tunneling is a huge buff to the low tier killers in the long term.
Those killers CAN NOT get any buffed because they have this option right now. They will only be able to be finally buffed after those strategies are removed. You won't be able to buff all killers to level where they can 8 hook reliably. Most killers simply can't match top tier killers, because they lack mobility.
Clown was on level, where he was close to it (yet still worse) and he was miserable to play against.
It's simply impossible to buff majority of killers to level where they can play without tunneling/slugging against remotely competent team. Also in end game you just have to slug as any killer, if you still want to win…

I love playing as him even now, the new bear with the cat skin is so cute.Funny is I would say it's so much easier to hit around corners now than before…
It's easier but worse, because it's slower and you need at least some space around you for it.
But It's definetly not something I would respect anymore. -
Depends what you mean aggressively, if you want chase then something like Sprint Burst, Vigil, WoO, Resilience/Finnese.
Just gen rush then Stake Out, Hyperfocus, Deja vi, Built to last -

The old monitor was better because it reduced terror radius and then increased it when being in chase so it created more psychological preasure on survivors especialy the unexperienced ones (the hud buff nerf it because you can see if someone is chased which only had obsesion but now everybody has that indicator to the terror radius increase wont help you that much against experienced survivors). Now the perk is hood on oni maybe but lower tr killers like hag, mayers arent so benefit by it.
Now the perk is hood on oni maybe
Isn't increase in chase lower than before for 32m TR? I expect they lowered it, so it doesn't get too high on 40m TR killers.
So it was nerfed even for Oni, where it was actually decent perk combined with Infectious Fright.
-
There should be a way to nerf her without taking away the fun factor.
That would mean making her infection way harder to get, so it's actually something she needs to work for and not handed on a silver platter.
So remove auto aim, give it actually some movement penalty, way higher cooldown so you can't spam it, head form can't infect at all etc.
If you make that, then it makes sense for headform to be strong and something where survivor is going to get downed quite quickly. But right now it's almost nonexistent requirement.
-
Time is limited here, so it's not holding the game hostage. Survivor can't be slugged for infinite amount of time. The second survivor also has an option to end it at any point by going to killer.
-
Definetly not, especially when MMR doesn't mean anything in current form.
If I want I can choose to die as survivor in every game and killer can do nothing about it unless they DC. It's easy to change your own MMR (lower it), even if you don't see it. Such change would just give a big incentive for such actions.

you can mindgame against her plenty
You can't really mindgame someone who can see you…
You can do micro movements to some extent, but way less than against normal killers. -
That's a good question, I guess she wasn't easy enough.
Imagine if survivors had option to mind game against her, that would be just too much…

Map offerings didn't need to be nerfed after the Sacrificial Wards were added to the common rarity. If someone hates map offerings then they can just bring a Sac Ward.
DBDs map rng is so bad right now. Map offerings would be nice if they worked like in the past so that we don't have to play the same 4 maps over and over.
It was less of an issue since killer could see, who used the offering. I was free to show the survivor what I think of it…
I am really not sad they are gone tho.
-
Weird how players wanted to practice on maps that put other side into disadvantage so often…

-
Well, it would help if survivors learned how to use hook timer and overall played around tunneling.
DON'T UNHOOK EARLY
Unless killer is far away in chaseDON'T HEAL DIRECTLY UNDER HOOK
Unless you have perks to do it fastI have seen so many survivors unhooking second killer turns around and then act like it's killer's fault…

Release of Walking Dead was pretty close in my opinion, especially because it affected everyone. It's a big issue if chase won't start…
Current and Last rifts are definetly one of worst in my opinion.
Krasue/Ghoul are at least on par or in my opinion worse than Skull merchant ever was.

Erm you for real there?
They both have cool downs you play wrong and your punished for it.
The ghoul even has a pallet cool down & jump cooldown, As for Krasue she has her head flight cool down you miss play that then you lose a lot of your advantage, Which forcing you back into human form again during chase.Plus she has a massive delay lunge cool down in her head form.
Killers are not allowed to feel smooth? And that makes them easy dude please stop.
Killers are allowed to feel smooth and that doesn’t make them easy to play full stop.
If that’s the case then the same should go for the survivor role right, Then that role should feel clunky and hard to use with that mentality but you wouldn’t like that I guess?
You’re just sounding like you are refusing to learn how to play against certain Killers unless it suits you.
And there lies the problem I mentioned above.
You’re just sounding like you are refusing to learn how to play against certain Killers unless it suits you.
Options of single survivor in chase against those two are highly limited, so it's not like you can learn much.
I have absolutely no issue with playing against Nurse, or Blight, so I don't feel like I am the issue here. Main thing is if I respect other side's efforts, I love to play against Billy, Blight, Nurse because quite often it's contest of skill, both sides can show what they can do.
I have no respect for Ghoul/Krasue, those are simply played by people who want good results without any effort.
-
I get she's popular
Is she? I can't remember last time I have played against her.
-
@TsukiYurei said:
The cope here jeez.
Play both sides and learn to mind game/loop more efficiently, Krause wasn’t bad nor op on release day and is way less of a threat now.
(They have ptb’s for a reason)
Stop with the tribalism mindset, We are allowed strong killers not just Blight/Nurse.
Killers are meant to be feared and are meant to have a very slight edge, It’s 1 vs 4 and a horror game remember that.
Krause was fine and didn’t need the nerf, She’s A- at best.
People who say she’s stronger than Nurse/Blight need to stop copping, Nurse/Blight won't be dethroned and can excel way above Krasue can because she’s low A tier.Stop spreading hate and misinformation, Just like when people did with skull merchant’s original first released. (Now she’s gutted for nothing)
Skull merchant’s original kit had counter play but low tier players just refused to learn it.
And just like Krasue right now people are refusing to learn her counter play and work together, Same goes for Ghoul there nothing wrong with eva of these killers.
So stop uneeded the hate, It’s not good for community nor the game’s health.
Please just play both sides you learn/adapt more.
Peace have fun out there in the fog.We are allowed strong killers not just Blight/Nurse.
I am fully fine with strong killers, but they should not be easy to play in my opinion. So you can basically get good results for some effort.
Neither Ghoul or Krasue are hard killers in my opinion. Quite the opposite…
Sad thing is even if I win against Ghoul/Krasue those games are still miserable.
Blight, Nurse, Wesker etc. you can easily use their power wrong and get punished for it. That's not really a thing for Krasue/Ghoul. They are babysitted with tools that make them easy and low fatigues/cooldowns.
-
Isn't it kinda funny with whole Health patch thing going on and I would say this year we have seen some worst states of DBD in a long time?

Understandable, good luck in your next game.

That would be cool, but maybe they worry about perfomance issues.

It only seems grindy comparing two current scenarios, but if you think about either player in the old rift system, they're both benefiting from a much less grindy system.
If you play one six-hour session on Saturday or whatever ratio of hours over the weekend now, it's much less grindy than doing the same thing before, that's my point.
I do agree you get more progress playing daily. I don't necessarily mind that - online games need a regular flow of players logging in - but I do think the alternative could stand to be a lot better than it currently is.
It's more grindy in a way of how much you need to do daily quests.
Permanent quests and long sessions less often are way worse compare to challenge system.
To compansate daily quests of one day you have to play 20 games, which is just insane. That's just result of less fragments per game.
It's slightly less, but I still have no idea when you get 10 fragmentsIf they increase fragments to 10 per game so it matches previous system, then I am fine with it.
While you aren't being pushed to play every day if you want to finish the rift
That's simply not the case, at least not for last rift. I have done every weekly quest, every event quest and even all chapter quests, yet didn't finish the rift. I simply did not play enough days.
I have calculated it for last rift and you had to finish daily quests for 46 days. Otherwise play tons of games to compensate.

For me map offerings are same or worse than any of those. Other side is in most cases put into disadvantage before game even starts.

how would you fix that? It sounds annoying with such teammates, but i see no way to fix that.
Proper skill-based matchmaking would be a good start.
I wonder if people already forgot, or majority just didn't play back them, but at start we got strict matchmaking and it was just really bad.
Well, separate issue is the system of MMR is flawed, especially for survivors.
But I am sure skill-based matchmaking is still a thing simply because I am able to see what kind of survivors I see on my account and when I play killer on my girlfriend's account.
You can also see that in 2v8, where MMR is basically ignored for sake of queue times. -
"Don´t waste ur time playing DBD"
Fixed itLike really, if I lost my account I wouldn't start again and I would not recommend DBD to anyone. There are not many games I would consider less noob friendly than DBD.
-
I would play him…
-
That couldn't end well.
We had seen several killers in past, where they were not really that strong, but had high kill rate as noob/soloQ stompers.
And they would most likely get more pallets to deal with for this, which would suck…I really wouldn't trust devs on this after they were spread sheet nerfing so many things in past.
-
Yeah, you really did not play him, did you?
In most cases it changes nothing, it's 3 more blood orbs…
I still can't down first survivor too fast, otherwise I won't reach my power.
Even when I down survivor with my power second after activation, if I pick up I won't manage to activate it from the hook neither.Like it's not enough his power was nerfed with flick removal…
-
I have to say I noticed I struggle to get M1 hits on Oni way more than before, survivors always seem to reach another pallet…
Had kinda same issue with Legion.

Kinda SWF only thing.
Also in many areas she has good chance to go around you and it doesn't really waste that much time for her compare to M1 killers.
She can as well choose to keep trying in head form and at that point you can't leave the other survivor, so you are both stuck in there. -

they only real incentive to play different killers is to even them out so its not such a drastic change in tier, like ghoul, nurse and blight v trapper, wraith and rework myers. The tier difference is too much for people to actually want to play weaker killers.
