I get it about the matchmaking but why dc? You were literally going to get double bp. Were you trying to avoid EGC?
-
I ran NOED a few times and it did end up be punishing at the end for survivors. If you watch any high level streamer, they analyze what the build could be. Isn't that a part of the strategy? Some builds are obvious like Ruin/Undying/Corrupt Intervention, Thtilling Tremors. Others can be found quickly like Sloppy Butcher, PGTW, etc due to longer healing and sudden gen regression.
Some builds you can kind of figure out like Basement Bubba (Insidous, Iron Grasp, Mad Grit).
Some others are harder to determine but become apparent once game starts depending on killer gameplay (Whispers, Discordance, BBQ, Tinkerer).
Goal shouldn't just be to outlast the killer, but figure out what their overall strategy is. If you cannot definitely say NOED is not part of their build, then aim to cleanse at least 1 totem.
If you're not doing HW of figuring out the build and/or cleansing a totem, then maybe NOED can be seen as having too much tunnel vision. And you can still cleanse the lit totem once its avtivates so it takes the guesswork out of it.

Plague- her Corrupt Purge needs to either not be on a timer once picked up, or the fountains should grant tokens. Manually going to fountains is a disproportionate timesink for the killer when those fountains act as infinite omega medkits for the survivors.
I think that's good for Plague. Corrupted Purge has tokens but she can pick vile vs. Corrupt like new clown
-
I'm Proto colorblind (red weak) but that Deuteranope setting is so crisp lol for the gen and the scratchmarks!
That first clip is on one of the worst maps for me, so its a big difference.
-
I think this is the best news. I'm colorblind and as a killer some maps are literally impossible to work with. I have to avoid certain loops in some maps because I can't see whats going on. How is that fair for others who struggle, too?
I think that they are even considering the multiple types of colorblind versus one type is even better. I don't like the reaction of the one dev that he's tired if hearing us blather about this, but I like the action that was taken
-
I wonder if they are planning a different type of mode involving AI for the killer. To ensure jumps scares and more of a horror element, you need to guarantee that the killer will be adept at performing said scares.
Unless there's a new mode/storyline where its exploring the world of the Entity and its killers. I wonder if it could be akin to Luigis Mansion 3 where each floor is a killer whose world we need to explore and escape/defeat.
Or could we see something competitive like infinite gens with each round increasing difficulty in both finding, completing and avoiding the AI killer who increases in skills each round.
BHVR knows the most used, and efficient, builds and they can mirror the skillset ceiling on top players.
As a killer, I wonder if the hook count on the new UI for this type of purpose or mode. Hooking goals and whatnot.
-
Are you talking about specific killers or killer styles? Killers determine the speed and style of the match. Doctor is going to cause a lot of difficult skill checks, Plague/Legion will encourage healing. The powers dictate the match.
My issue with killers is how they play in general since their behavior determines the overall match. Tunneling, camping results in less points overall, less fun gameplay at what the guarantee of 1K?
I played survivor for a few weeks and then went back to Doctor. I realized that tunneling/camping may guarantee 1K, but results in overall less BP for me, less fun for the camped/tunneled person. Once I started to break out and focus on ither people, BP started increasing and I got t-bagged/flashlights/general bullied a lot less. I say less because some survivors are just like that lol
So I think ones behavior as Killer is more important than the overall Killer choice. I will frown more upon a killer who tunnels/camps constantly rather than somebody who chooses a meta killer with meta perks lol

My man!! Ormond is my favorite also simply because I can EFFING SEE what’s going on.
New Ormond ive been getting 3k-4k consistently, especially if you have a Blendette trying to be sneaky lol
-
Ormond is one of my favorite maps as a colorblind person. I can spot survivors from such a distance there and the red scratch marks against the white is great
Worse maps for me have to be Backwater Swamp (I can't see anything in the underground area), Meat Plant (upstairs is great but the basement is so dark and I think rework made it darker which is completely different than the conception art).
I think toggling the color to either red or blue would be enough to help imo. Games like Splatoon let us do the color lock and its a huge help and has no effects on gameplay other than helping us colorblind people play normally.

Overcharge is the poor-mans PGtW. It does literally nothing if the Survivors are good. And even half-decent survivors will be able to deal with it after they fail it the first time.
Overcharge doesn't have a cooldown or time to activate. Surveiilance can pick up the regression for failed skill checks even with survivors using Technician.
PGTW gives you immediate regression but Overcharge shouldn't be discounted 100%.
Ive played Doctor/Twins matches where I'm down to a strong 3 gen and Overcharge/Oppression stalled the game and swung momentum my way
-
Not sure how meta it is, but I enjoy Thrilling Tremors. I pair it with Doctor to get everybody off of a gen before picking up a survivor. Then I can see which gens are being worked on since it won't be locked out.
My overall Doctor build is the following:
Whispers: Never waste a Static Blast
Distressing: bigger TR and Static Blast zone.
Thrilling tremors: per above it syncs well with Doctor
Overcharge: just more for hard skill checks but will probably switch it out. I like that it has no cool down on top of madness. But Oppression hits 3 gens and immediately causes skill checks. I'm also considering some other M1 perks here, but haven't decided yet.
-
I would consider survivors to have more crutch perks than killers (DH, DS, BT) tbh. Killer meta is currently Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer so I guess these could be considered crutch perks because they are a great build.
I think crutch is more of a perk that makes up for lack of skill and/or experience. Locating survivors takes experience but newer players will utilize Whispers to help point them in the right direction. Overreliance on Whispers will effectively act as a crutch because killers will never learn to find survivors under normal circumstances.
Would BBQ be considered crutch? It gives you a brief idea of where people are but it doesn't help you in the immediate area. By the time you get there they may have moved far away as it'll take you 9-10 seconds to get over there. I would say this is a better information (and BP earning) perk rather than crutch. It informs you to analyze and make decisions
-
Visionary/Wake Up are okay. I'd probably switch for a good exhaustion perk like DH or BT or even DS. I like Dejavu since it shows you 3 locations. Helps to avoid a strong 3 gen situation for killer if coordinated well.
-
Is the game visually M? I don't think so personally, but the whole premise is M. I suppose that all shooters should be mature, but then we have games like Splatoon which is for everybody and they use sniping weapons and bombs. But they respawn because they were splatted and not killed.
If this were a simple hide & seek game (which was the original design) it wouldn't be exciting, but the idea of hunting, hooking and killing others pushes it to the edge regardless of visual aspects.
-
I like Deja vu since it'll help me 1) see 3 gens and 2) plan ahead so killer doesn't have a 3 gen at the end.
Latter is hard to plan with random, but has proven to be effective

I don't understand it. If the player irritated you that bad then get them out of the game- they have a thing for that called hooks. There is literally no reason to repeatedly hit them, unless they are t-baging for no reason, they hey, use discretion. My recommendation: why not play survivor? I'm sure that your view will change on what survivors are saying on slugging/ camping/ tunneling/ hitting on hook. *SMH*
I was playing survivor and this happened while I was playing as Elodie.
I didn't do anything to either killer. I dont teabag, or wait at exit gates. They caught me and just camped and attacked after not seeing me the whole game.
To make things worse, I'm running Kindred so my teammates see the killer camping and refuse to help. I had a match last night against a Freddy and I think I was matched with a SWF. Didnt see Freddy all match, got my first hook after 5th gen was done. Then I see the gates open and all 3 of my teammates are in the exit gate teabagging as my first hook becomes my death hook. It wasn't even a good Freddy (no dream snares set and I think he had 1 hit besides me the whole match). Freddy camped and attacked the whole time I was on hook while my teammates did nothing in the exit gates.
-
As a killer, I try not to tunnel as much as possible, but it's unavoidable sometimes. Usually the first person to get hooked is either not great or unlucky. If its the former, they will probably make a mistake that will lead them to me again.
As a survivor, I seem to be tunneled more frequently. Am I doing something wrong? Sometimes yes, but i don't think its the case most of the time my teammates will unhook me, but don't want to stay too long because I'll attract the killer with cries and bleeding.
But let me tell you I had a great match yesterday vs a clown. He kept going after me and gates were opened and my team of randoms wouldn't let me go. They blinded him and stayed behind me to body block as I entered the gates. This is what a team is supposed to be. Its infuriating to killers because the survivors are very strong when not just working the objectives but working together.
As a killer I would've sworn I was playing a SWF but it was random people working together.

Really appreciate the detailed explanation, thank you! Personally I've used perks like tinkerer in the past, but I had no indication it went off since I was using Victor at the time. And since Charlotte has no power you're incentivized to use Victor as much as possible, so any information perks like tinkerer, discordance, surveillance, etc, aren't really worth it if you are using Victor most of the match.
This is why I was interested in what people thought a good build would be. I was thinking about sloppy butcher, BBQ (since you need Charlotte for hooks anyway), Make your choice (for the fun of it), and Corrupt.
Its not bad for those 4 perks. I'm not a huge fan of corrupt since if nothing happens for 2 minutes it was just a waste imo
-
My current Twins build is the following:
Whispers: great locating perk. I move until it lights up, then back off so its off. Then I releasr Victor. It gives the Survivors a lot less warning as opposed to my TR getting stronger and then stopping, thus showing Victor is released.
Sloppy Butcher (or Nurse's calling if i ever get it lol): SB slows down heqling and increases bleeding so it helps Victor to find injured survivors easier since he doesn't see scratchmarks. NC is great for finding any survivors who are healing.
Overcharge/Oppression: Twins have a great ability to pressure multiple gens at once. These two perks are more for mid-game/end game control especially when you get to a 3-4 gen. You set up each twin between 2 gens. Victor acts as a beacon alerting you to potential gen repair. And Charlottr acts as the damaged. With Overcharge/Oppression, each damaged gen will result is a difficult skill check and will cause other gens to regress and trigger difficult skill checks immediately. This can snowball very quickly as it will alert you to which gens are being worked on and then you can damage the next for another Overcharge SC since Oppression will be on cooldown.
Ive held games hostage when down to a 3 gen where they regress back to 0 and survivors are stuck. Their only hope is to try and bait me to leave or sacrifice somebody to get some progression.
Other great perks are Surveillance to see which gens are regressing, Discordance to see if multiple people are on a gen.
You can include other good M1 perks for Charlotte (BBQ, PGTW which are good perks in general)
As far as add on for my build I enjoy the toy sword and black hood. Reducing pounce time and Charlotte's awakening is key to help pressure multiple gens.
I did see some other good sets by streamers that utilize Deerstalker, Hex: Devour Hope. You can look those up though!
-
I did just switch from killer to survivor. So to quote Maui, "You're Welcome!" Lol
Jk I'm only decent at gens and I always have a Claudette to lead killer to me, block me on doorways or open my locker im hiding in letting killer know wher I am lol
-
I don't have ruin undying so I can't default to those lol
I do enjoy synergizing Oppression however. I think it goes great with Overcharge, PGtW, and even Thrilling Tremors. I enjoy these perks more because they aren't hexes and the effects are likely to stay the whole match.
I'm too dependent on Whispers too. Even Doctor I use it to get the most out of SB. Its one if the best and reliable locating perks imo
-
As lore goes, I enjoy Demo since I lived stranger things. Twins is probably my least favorite lore due to the complexity with the cult. Id be more than content with their family hiding from villagers.
As far as playing killer, I'm enjoying Twins right now. The ability to change play style and speed, and be able to pressure multiple parts of map is great. I also enjoy Doctor and his laugh lol

They do post hooks attacks. A TON. If it's just once it's because it stops the screaming (some killers are more audio based than others so it helps) but I never understood why they do it more than once.
I play as Elodie so I can get the first attack. But I literally had Ghostface hitting me 5 times no reason as 2 gens popped. And then I played a huntress who just stared at me launching hatchet after hatchet. Like seriously I learned a lot from this experience
-
I was a killer main but have been doing survivor lately (climbed 3 ranks). As a survivor I saw a few things that I didn't particularly like.
-tunnrling/camping drove me nuts. I was hooked 3x in a row and they stayed right in front of me throwing Hatchet and slashing me
-post hooking attacks for no reason
I definitely learned my good etiquette from switching to survivor but there's no hard rules for killet tbh
-
Ive been playing Twins a lot (well I took a break to play survivor a bit lol) and I like them. Main points that I would add:
-ability to use motion control for Victor. I play on switch so the fine tuning for the pounce is tricky when they are running.
-i would also like a way other than pouncing for Victor. Maybe a weak attack akin to Legion with a cooldown as a balance? 2 weak attacks = pounce
-only other change I would make is to have Charlotte have KI for Victor, but not the same. Victor is based on shriek range, while Charlotte is using her TR. Maybe a notification of somebody in her TR but they cant see their aura
-
Why remove characters? I'd be open to single player mode and revamped perk/bloodweb system.
-
I played killer and queue was usually under 5 minutes or instant. I played survivor yesterday afternoon and had 5 matches under 2 hours so queue was again under 5 minutes
-
have you adjusted the sensitivity of the controller? Tweaking helped me a bit, but I'm used to motion control like in Splatoon 2 lol
I can pounce with Victor from maximum range and hit a survivor thats moving so its definitely possible.
In regards to Billy, you can also try add one for better steering
-
I'm colorblind too so I hear you. I'm red weak colorblind so scratch marks are hard to see.
On the flipside though, I can see people through the fog easier sometimes so that makes up for less scratch marks.
But I do wish there was a way to make it more colorblind friendly. In Splatoon 2 most of the colors are primary, but there's one that's a dark blue and magenta color. I can't tell which ink is mine and needless to say I'm splatted most of the time lol but they let you lock the colors so that does help a bit. I wouldn't mind making the scratch marks like yellow or blue. Id be ecstatic with either of those colors.
-
First time I heard Elodie scream I jumped out of my skin lol

No. Never say this. You are ruining video games.
There exists no world where people are happy with pay2win.
Its not guaranteed pay to win. It takes the RNG out of the blood web so you don't have to grind like crazy for a perk you want
-
I'm running following set:
Whispers: once it lights up I back off so TR goes away and then send Victor to scout. He'll be on top of them before they realize with no TR warning.
Sloppy Butcher: great for Victor locating injured survivors and slows healing.
Overcharge/Oppression: Skill check snowball. Able to cause multiple regressions and difficult skill checks.
Strong mid-end game strategy. Ive held games hostage because i set each Twin at 2 gens to cover. With Victor's shrieks I get a warning if they aren't crouching but I keep switching every 60 seconds so he doesn't die and respawn. Ive held multiple games hostage with this set especially if i have a strong 3-4 gen going.

Oni is the strongest killer but his perks range from niche to terrible.
Ghosty is a decent killer with 1 awesome perk, 1 really good perk, and 1... that is a contender for worst perk in the game.
Twins are... no one can agree on how good/bad they are. Their best perk is easily Oppression, and that's only decent at best.
Oppression by itself isn't strong. But match it with PGTW, Surveilance, Overcharge or DMS and it has strong staying power that could rival Ruin that cant be broken imo
-
All 3 are different. GF is great stealthy killer, Oni is not stealthy and rushes on survivors lol
I like the Twins since they are a middle between above 2. Victor has no TR, but requires high skills to master.
I have all 3 but enjoy Twins the most.
-
Regarding Dragons Grip, I haven't tried it, but i can see it as beneficial. But the first 30 seconds seems a little short tbh. If it was 60-90 seconds then sure. And it can only be activated every 80 seconds, while overcharge hits everytime

Thanks for the info, I questioned the use of Whispers, but your explanation for it actually makes it kind of spicy... I think I will give that a try. As far as I'm concerned, Oppression is an easy meta perk for them (this may be the first time a killer actually came out with a perk that actually benefits THEM)
it just synergies so well, and I also tend to try using it in that way, but I wasn't sure if I should pair with dragons grip (I've noticed alot of times survivors will rush to generators they see you leave an unoccupied Charlotte at - for the lulz or maybe they think it's a good strategy 🤷♂️ but in those scenarios I like to let then think that and return to charlotte when this perk activated on them for a nasty surprise... Only problem is this perk might actually still be broken because I never seem to get notified when it goes off...
Maybe overcharge will be more consistent?
I like Overcharge since I get the regression and its a ticking time bomb for next person, but PGTW is another great perk that syncs with Oppression.
I did see another build of BBQ/Surveilance/Oppression/PGTW. Idea is to know which gens are regressing and damage those for a snowball effect.
-
Ive been playing Twins a lot and this is my build now:
Whispers: great locating perk. Once I see it go off, I actually back off so it turns off and they can't hear my heartbeat so then I release Victor to scout. More surprise factor!
Sloppy Butcher: increases bleeding frequency and slow healing. Great for Victor once survivors are injured so he can see blood easier to down survivors.
Overcharge/Oppression: these two go great together. Damage 1st gen for tremendous skill check and regress 3 other gens while triggering difficult skill checks.
Great mid-end game build. You set each twin to cover 2 gens each when at 4 gens left. One damage forces all other 3 to regress and then it snowballs as you damage another and another. I've held games hostage when 3-4 gens left. Then you can also use Victor as a warning system on a gen thats further along.
Also saw an interesting build with Sloppy Butcher/Hex Devour Hope/Enduring/BBQ
-
BP grind is a pain and I'm relatively new (a few months).
I prestiged one killer (by accident after I unlocked the perk I want to complete my build and then clicked prestige by accident).
I'd be down to buy perks packages with real money and then use BP for add ons/offerings. If it came down to dollars vs. Logging hours, buying perks outright would encourage more playing vs. Grinding and beating new players down.
-
I enjoy playing killer because I hate jump scares and being chased. Tutorial barely helped and most of what I learned is through playing the game and stream/videos.
There's no way to practice killers and strategies so in general it deters killers from even branching out to uncomfortable territory.
Now that I'm getting the hang of the game, understanding the perks, strategy is naturally forming but it took months of trial and error to get here tbh. Then to try a new killer keeps you at the higher rank vs. Resetting.
I'm currently rank 16 btw, so I'm still learning what I like and don't like as far as killers but right now I enjoy Doctor and Twins.
-
@Greatamygdala said:
I don't have the killer so I have no idea how her power works but seems kinda BS how easy she gets victor back. I kicked him and a short time later it's back again? IMO should be some penalty there like longer CD.
Switching between the Twins takes time, dispatching Victor time and even recalling Victor after 45 seconds takes time. Longer cooldown of Victor regen is not needed. They have enough time penalty for their powers in general, they don't need additional cool down.
-
I enjoy them tbh. I think they are great at mid-end game when down to 4 gens. They can split up and cover 2 gens each, which is possible if you grouped them together.
I run Whispers/Overcharge/Oppression/Unnerving Presence. Idea is too snowball the oppression/overcharge regression and split it between Victor and Charlotte. Victor can act as a warning with KI and can incapacitate survivors. Slugging is encouraged for this killer and buys time to damage gens and hunt more. I like them a lot and they will probably be my 2nd main (after Doctor)
-
I actually had an issue last night. Was playing Doctor and couldn't damage a gen, but I could destroy pallets.
-

Let’s not forget that Victor is uncontrollable on console. The sensitivity is way way way way too high and they won’t let us use our MnK on console on a crossplay game so there’s that too...
How is Victor uncontrollable on console? I play Twins on switch and seem to be doing okay.
-
I've been playing Twins lately and am still waiting for good perks. I think Twins have great mid-end game pressure. I'm still new and level 16 so I'm running the current build:
Whispers
Unnerving Presence
Oppression
Overcharge
Idea is for strong 3-4 gen strategy end game. You can split 2 gens each and thanks to oppression it will cause other gens to regress and have difficult skill checks. And the gen you damaged will have a tremendously difficult check. If you set up a strong area then unnerving presence will still be background.
I was toying with Whispers and M&A since Whispers will alert you to survivors but no heartbeat so its a great opportunity to deploy Victor.
My main idea was to use a similar build on Doctor, but Twins can make great use of it as well since they can cover and incapacitate multiple survivors.
-

Use the right add ons iridescent victor they kick him they become exposed or when victor charges a pounce he doesn't scream.
You can also use Iri that makes Charlotte Undextablr upon switching in combination with Exposed Iri. So she can come up on them and surprise slug.
-
You have to look at how certain killers are made and general strategy based on their strengths. Monitor & Abuse is great for stealthy killers (Ghostface, Myers, Pig) while Whispers/BBQ are great location perks in general.
I main Doctor so Static Blast is linked directly to the size of my TR. So Distressing is a great perk to increase TR by 26%!
So Doctor spreads madness which makes skill checks harder so perks that either increase the frequency or difficulty are great. So perks like Overcharge and Oppresion are great.
To round out strategy I don't want to waste time or lose gens while hooking. Whispers is a great locating perk as I said before but now it guarantees a Static Blast hit when active. Once I Static Blast all actions are stoppee for 2.5 seconds. So Static Blast and then picking up a survivor activates Thrilling Tremors to kivk survivors off gens and locks them out for 16 seconds while I transport to the hook.
Hence, my current build of Whispers/Overcharge/Distressing/Thrilling Tremors is created. Once I unlock Oppression I may stop Distressing for Instant skill checks on the damage.

Have you considered messing with Oppression? Good chance when you kick a gen other survivors working on gens get a T2 Overcharge skillcheck.
I find the Oppression skillcheck is harder to prepare for, because it's unlikely you'll know when the killer is kicking a gen whereas with Overcharge once you experience it once it's easier to be ready for in the future.
Oppression causes a difficult skill check upon time of activation while Overcharge is a waiting time bomb. Overcharge gives the more difficult skill check while Oppression may have more immediate results (and has a cool down).
I'm almost done leveling up twins (28 or something) so I'm hoping to try a new set with Oppression Doctor.
Whispers/Overcharge/Oppression. As for the 4th perk I'm still thinking about it. Thrilling Tremors and Oppression have good synergy, but then again Distressing causes hard skill checks across the board.
Oh and I thought of another fun doctor set btw.
Distressing/Tinkerer/Dark Devotion combo messes up and confuses people on your TR. Distressing gives you a huge TR, but then Tinkerer makes you undetectable. Then DD lets you pass your TR to Obsession and then run away, activate Static Blast and then the whole map lights up since you have two huge TR hitting with Static Blast.
-
I'm a Doctor main and he's efficient at one of the hardest aspects of DBD: finding survivors and making their life difficult even when not in a chase
I run following set for Doctor, but he is pretty adaptable (impossible skill check, gen hostage, even injured sets)
Whispers (no static blast wasted)
Distressing (huge TR to hit everything with Static Blast) and difficult skill checks, along wit 100% BP in deviousness
Overcharge (more failed skill checks on top of madness and Distressing)
Thrilling Tremors (static blast and then pick up survivor to lock out gens)
Impossible skill checks build can be Whispers, Distressing, Overcharge, Lullaby.
Toxic Gen Hostage can be Ruin, Thrilling Tremors, Overcharge, Whispers/Distressing.
He's a great killer imo and is fun. My 2 y/o saw him play and he said , "more laughing please!"

Hey teen wolf is a good movie.
Not saying it's a good Werewolf movie, but a good movie
I love Teen Wolf dont get me wrong lol all I'm saying is the more behind these iconic characters tropes is bigger than most movie references, barring the iconic pop references that I referenced.
One of my favorite werewolf movies is Cursed, but the more dictates the rules of the movie versus the movie writing new lore.
The original Night of the Living Dead changed how zombies were viewed, which were more like voodoo zombies and golems up until then. Now that movie redefined the definition of zombies.
-
Survivors: Fin Shepherd and Shawn (from of the dead)
Killers: I wouldn't mind a vampire from The Strain. I think the tongue attack would be great to see and cause infection like Plague.
Others that I would like would be something supernatural like La Llorana or anything similar to like that
I think general character tropes are way to go rather than licensed characters tbh. Id be more happy to see characters like werewolf or vampire. There's enough pop culture references and lore to differentiate from specific movies and/or books (unless werewolf plays basketball or vampire sparkles lol)
