The deva did say using the fov slider will come at a cost. You'll be more susceptible to blinds. So it's a basekit buff, but there's a cost involved that might dissuade some killers from even using it.
Yeah that was always the case with shadowborn. Now it's just basekit IF you want. How convenient.

Rushing and 3 gen are completely different things, if you rush and end with three gens (aka "you screwed up") you chose the shortest way to make points with minimum risks. You're just confirming that it's not the only way to win, but the easiest way to "try to win" and you're part of the problem, like every killer that slugs, tunnels etc because you're shortening the match to seek victory, just like them.
You're just fighting the fire with gasoline.
PS: yesterday I played three games with Chucky. High MMR. Big maps, Chucky is slow, gens all over the place. I'm not a killer that tunnels or proxy camps or 3 gens or whatever. Survs rushed anyway, exploiting (it's their right, right?) every single safe loop of the map, with the shack right in the center that made playing impossible with good survivors. Short games, I didn't have fun 'cause I didn't play. Quitted and switched to The Finals, a little frustrated, but chill, I know myself and I know the game. Until this game is seen like a competitive sport and not just a game played with others (the killer too, yes) then we'll always have problems and no update will change the situation. It's not a problem of the game. It's just... People will be people. Just don't be the people, it'll help.
Yes exactly, "survivors screwed up because they rushed their objective." But killers "done good" when they tunneled at 5 gens. They are the exact same thing. Objectives being rushed.
Surivors exploiting loops? You meaning playing correctly? Must be tough.
-
@GolbezGarlandGabrant said:
The better question is what would incentivize you not to tunnel. Definitely not longer gens because that's been proven that people will still tunnel.
I'd rather have one less health state then another 10s on gens.
-
Hate to break it to you but even if your going against a 4 man swf, you should still be able to win fine.
Most swf don't play comp and use clock callouts.
-
It's a boon. If coh is dead how will this be used?
By the time I've crossed a map I know where gens are. If it's indoors I'll use my brain. But a boon only helping on indoor maps is now rng dependant.
What if the boon is on one side of the map? You run there only to realize you must run back because you decided to use a boon instead of recall.
It should be reworked to increase boon radius and reduce the sound boons make. Should also make booning faster always.
-
They do. It's called pain rez.
Didn't help.
-
I use nurses calling, forced hesitation, sloppy and infectious with Bubba.
I have a great time, not sure about the survivors tho...

I missed the point where rushing is punishable.
3 gen

ask capcom maybe?
I think that's where they got her head. You can see her face and neck are one but the rest of the body is even a diff skim tone.
Dnt know how they messed her model up that bad.
-
Tbh all these will look bad as they just took Rebecca's head and put it on a model they made. Her limbs are really bad co pared to Ada.

Hi, I'm killer main. Before complaining about all this new gen thingy I'm gonna try it on the field, maybe it's a good thing, maybe it's not and time will tell, but let me be honest here:
If survivors end the game with three close gens together, they screwed up. Map management (and gen management) it's one of the main objective of the game and, as a survivor, you gotta pay attention to that.
Not to mention that you actually CAN end a 3 gen situation. You can. Happened countless time to me, but of course it's better to avoid to end like that.
Survivors can't tap gens, ok, understood. Will the maps shrink then? 'cause most killers can't even cover 3 gens and survivors will repair generators in seconds.
To be fair, I'm worried about this update. I'm gonna try that, then judge, but as I said: 3 genning is mostly a survivor's fault, let's face it.
EDIT: for those who say "it's easy", do you play as killer or do you die as survivor? Just asking.
While 3 gens can be a result of survivors rushing their objective, if a killer does the same ie tunneling then it's considered a valid strategy and even endorsed.
If the killer decides to rush their objective they are rewarded with an easy win, if the survivors compensate by rushing gens then they are punished.
If the game had built in comms then I would agree the survivors are at fault.

It's the last playstyle for killers that really works. They got healing nerfed, boons nerfed, hexes are all trash. Past a certain mmr the only way to get any progress or have any pressure at all is to tunnel a survivor out. That bleeds down, and now every killer tunnels because that's what works
So healing and boons were nerfed, hexes were untouched but now this means tunneling is more warranted? Just because survivor is so weak nw why not right?

@pigslittlepet said:
The devs claim they nerf killer perks because they are to oppressive or have no counter but that clearly is just a lie at this point. There is zero counter to a flash bang delivered by background player. Face a wall, it doesn't help.
How do you counter coup?
-
Purposefully creating a 3 gen has been nerfed and basekit kick reg doubled and you can't gen tap. Sounds like a big buff.
Killer just got another perk basekit from all your complaining. Shadowborn.
This chapter was a buff to killer and yall are complaining?
It's never enough.
-
@Chiky said:
man, the survivor entitlement in this forum...
Killers get a new killer power to play with as well as perks each release.
If surivor perks are worthless then that's that.
It's simple to understand the imbalance.

@AmpersandUnderscore said:
The AFC mechanic is basically exactly as effective as the base kit repair penalty for grouping up on gens is for gen rushing.
Both are now part of the core game mechanics, but actually make their respective problems worse by encouraging players to play even more efficiently (in this case proxy camping and spreading out on gens).
It's safe to say that since every single post about 'this mechanic appears to do nothing' is met with a snarky response of 'akshually it's anti-FACE camping' should be enough to tell you that this doesn't affect anyone's gameplay in the slightest, and might even be under tuned.
I'd actually prefer if they scrapped the whole AFC mechanic entirely and reverted Reassurance to it's PTB state, with one change: 'press e to cancel reassurance' for the hooked survivor.
Absolutely agree, not only did the afc mechanic teach killers that proxy camping is a better tactic but many survivors stopped bringing Reassurance thinking it wouldn't be needed as much.
I'm much better at camping hook now lol.
-
Rebecca, her nature is geared toward how I'd like to play but I have to use Ada in these times.

I guess everyone already forgot Made For This, and how long it was an issue
Were you around during gen kick meta?
-
Yeah basekit shadowborn, double gen regression on gen kicks, even worse quick gambit rework, useless new survivor perks.
Why play survivor???
-
I didn't read all that but his zombies have gotten alot smarter.
You realize they just added the antidote animation for survivor which is awesome but shows priorities.
Maybe next year?

Lol. You're single mindedness is a inspiration to survivor main everywhere.
Solid argument. Must be hard winning without free kills at hooks.
-
I main Bubba, he is great at low to mid mmr but that's it. Pretty sure high level Billy will be superior to high level Bubba.
Too many killer reworks to look at Bubba this year I'd assume.

"Half my matches survivors give up or end up hiding. "
Thant's just not my experience but it sucks if this is happing to you. I just don't think SoloQ is as bad as some people love to claim around here. I'll acknowledge will all have different experiences though.
There is a thread rn about bringing harsher dc penalties. I dnt think it's just my experience.
-
@pigslittlepet said:
Yeah the devs really hate survivor. All you got was basekit bt, anti face camp, and a three gen fix. And background player buff and ftp + buckle up are useless. Must be terrible.
Basekit bt you just wait out.
Facecamping was never the issue camping was and it wanted touched.
3 gen fix is a buff to all killers just to avoid an unfun playstyle few used.
Background Player results in thrown matches.
Ftb and buckle up are hardly seen at mid mmr.
Try again.

@Seraphor said:
I'm the opposite. I've been playing survivor more than I did before 6.1. Used to be 80/20 killer, now I'm more 50/50.
Not expecting to escape every game isn't the same as enjoying punishment. Just as I don't consider a 1K/2K/3K a lost game providing I've otherwise played well, I don't consider a game where I'm saacrificed a waste of time, providing I know I've played well and scored a decent amount of BP.
Other survivors giving up is always going to be frustrating, but luckily bots tend to be better than those survivors anyway. I can't count how many times someone has DC'd, only for the game to turn around and result in multiple escapes, usually due to the contributions of the bot. Happens more often than not.
So if you're a survivor who's DCing early in the game because you 'think' you're getting tunneled/camped/abandoned, just know your bot is winning the game in your absence.
While bots may be more challenging as a m1 killer, it's still a bot. I didn't join a public match to play against multiple bots.
-
Yeah we just got a new survivor who's been overshadowed by Billy buffs, basekit shadowborn and buffed killer perks.

That flashlight perk is a secret S tier perk. It’s really good.
It goes on cooldown for 60 seconds.
How is it good?
-
Yeah it's difficult to convince my friends to play this game these days. Like:
Being new they found looping difficult against a killer that shares my mmr.
Didn't find sitting on a generator entertaining. (No surprise)
Didn't know how to run tiles.
Dbd isn't a party game anymore. You can't just pick it up and have fun.
-
Cool skin, garbage perks.
Not surprised.
-
The way pop and pain rez change the dynamic of my matches I'd say no.
If your half decent as killer you can essentially add 2 more gens with just these 2 perks alone.
I hardly have to go out of my way to get value as well.
-
The anti camp and tunnel mechanics are made to be very soft as to only affect killers on the hook.
Both forms were weak versions of perks killers regularly work around.
So, useless.
Meanwhile buffed killer as compensation obviously.
-
Thanks!

It depends which side of the pallet they are on when you drop it. If they are on the side closest to you then they will end up on you're side if they are on the other half they will end up on the other.
Hope this helps
Is this ping related or intended?
-
Had a wesker using NTH tier 1 last night. Don't know how he got to use it in game.
-
Ez win, nothing hard to understand.
-
Just nerf add ons and fix mmr. Then I think you won't feel so helpless tbh
-
Please?
-
Agreed. Spaghetti code is really tangled up rn. Look at Knight being killswitched as an example.
-
I see ftp buckle up combo as problematic as pain rez dead man's.
Not a priority in this game's state rn.
-
Who Plays soloq these days??
-
Why would you nerf distortion?
Oh right, goal posts move.
Soon Bond is on the chopping block.
-
Question is can a console player pull of a 180 flick like a pc player. If so then it should have stayed.

That sucks dude, Im sorry for that, in my case I can barely use it, having to predict obviously. Have you ever got a response?
Na. I doubt we will get servers as that's money.
They could do vault validation but then the killers will be like na this feels bad.
-
From South Africa myself.
I've also made threads here asking for more servers.
It really sucks, I get 180 ping and human reaction speed is somewhere around there so I'm dealing with 360ms response time plus input latency.
So near half a second. I can't reliably use Dead Hard due to this.

I'm with you on this, I've been trying them to answer this question a lot of times but they just ignore it everytime. Me for example on NA servers I play with 100 ping and in other games in NA servers I have 50-70 ping its a quite serious difference.
Lol I'm at 180 ping.
Servers have been bad lately.
-
I just don't like people saying," it's a team based game, you died because your team, go next".
Soloq is almost the opposite of teamwork. It's just luck.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3601651#Comment_3601651
Okay, but how does that relate to what I said?
Survivors have to play as if the killer will slug or camp or tunnel. And that's not even a perk slot used.
If killers proxy camp then 2 survivors should come for the rescue. If they tunnel survivors should smash gens.
Just as killer had to wait out dh, survivors have to circumvent any of these strong plays. It's no different.
-
@Raconteurminator said:
Decisive Strike right now is an underused perk and, unless it gets a substantial rework, that's where it should stay. It's not functionally broken but it is mechanically broken. What do I mean? Perks should only ever impact the game-state when they're in play, not out of the possibility of them being in play. One of the (many) reasons Dead Hard was unhealthy for the game was that not only was it outlandishly powerful, it also forced you to play in a specific way to counter the possibility of someone having it equipped.
If Decisive Strike functions exactly the same way as it does now and simply gets a numbers buff or an additional effect that propels it back into common (or even semi-common) use, players are going to get utility from it without even having it equipped. I don't think that's healthy perk design.
Survivor has to assume killers will tunnel, slug or camp. It's no different to waiting out dh.
-
Nerf.
So then we have another survivor that had their entire kit killed.
