Deathslinger is so aggressively overtuned that he feels both useless to play as, and almost an automatic victory when playing against.
It's still march 31st

If you have the nightmare edition, you need to play the ps4 version in order to use the associated DLC. You'll have to buy the characters or dlc again if you want to play them on ps5 edition unfortunately.
There was a promotion 4 years ago when the chapter was getting removed where they would give you the digital dlc code if you had nightmare edition but that has since expired. -

Any news?
It was removed from the banned list, you can safely install and use ReShade again.

I was a chucky main and i still play and understand him well but yes after his nerfs he has become a weak killer unfortunately. His cooldown just hard limits him no matter how accurate you are, has no map mobility, terrible perk synergy and his add-ons are at best minor boosts in power.
He was good because the attack used to be faster so chases would end quick. However they nerfed the speed and increased the cooldown, you need to get closer before you launch the attack and you have a longer cooldown after you do that. His power relies on Slice and Dice so his way of getting pressure is getting hooks so since that was nerfed he became dramatically worse.
Also after his nerfs he became a lot more map dependant, because his attack is slower maps with a lot of safe pallets are much worse for him, RPD and The Game i have a lot of trouble with as chucky.
As for tips :
- Don't hit and run, it's not effective on chucky.
- Iridescent Amulet helps with a lot of the weaknesses he has right now.
- Use aura perks to understand when you should go hidey ho mode
- Use Deadlock, Corrupt, Pain Res, Grim Embrace for slowdown. Not all 4 at once though
He is also getting buffed in the next patch but we'll have to wait and see how much better that makes him. -
Decisive Strike and Pain Resonance. Although i do think the best perk for each individual killer can vary as well as survivor playstyle and other perks you are running with it. But in my experience these two perks generally seem to make the most impact.
-
After thinking, i would like to see a compromise between this proposed design and 2.0 design.
Personally i really want controllable drones and for skull merchant to be able to actively gain intel.
Skull merchant mains like Lock On stack management and controlling scan lines.
I don't think drones necessarily need to be able to injure by ramming into survivors. -
Maybe make it a septic touch rework?
-
I like it because you can control the drones, and the info aspect sounds fun. That was enough for me to say im very excited in the survey.
I am starting to see the problems with it though. The drones injuring does make it sound too much like twins. She is also lacking stealth i think, unless this version keeps her 24m terror radius i guess.
And ofc i do think it's sad for skull merchant mains. But personally i never liked skull merchant gameplay, because she can't control drones. Controllable drones is all i want really. -

I appreciate that today's message has resulted in some detailed feedback from y'all! Let me collect these and pass them along to the team.
I'm very excited to see what the team has come up with for Trickster and Skull Merchant 😄

As survivor : Escaping myself
As killer : If a survivor escapes through the gates after completing the gens i find it to be a loss. Everything else i find to be a win, including if they open the gates but then i stop them with blood warden or something. -
Yep it's the achievements that came with Taurie (it entices you to use her invocation)
But it's literally just a better idea to use no mither cuz that invocation is so bad -
I think Freddy is pretty good. His snares make window loops unsafe, a lot of pallet fillers unsafe, and even though he has to break a lot of them you can replace them with dream pallets which can block survivor pathways in unexpected ways and get you nasty hits. Dream Projection is also just amazing, it's super practical and gives you map pressure on every map, and it can get you into the next chase very quickly.
-
Well, to be factual. I don't remember they ever said charms couldn't return. Only that the store would need changes to support it.
As for deep rift, they've only said they have no plans for them to return. So it would seem that it's not off the table as they haven't explicitly been stated to never return again.
Personally, i think they should. I don't agree with the argument that they should be exclusive because they are only recolours. Cosmetics are cosmetics and different colours make a big difference. -
My favourite build for Freddy is Garden Rake, Nancy's Sketch (bigger snare and shorter immunity)
Barbecue and Chili, Mindbreaker, Surge, Save the Best for Last.
Save the best for last surprisingly good on freddy, i find it's better than Rapid Brutality and Brutal Strength.
Surge means you don't have to kick gens, it's really powerful on freddy.
Mindbreaker and Barbecue means after a hook you can see and teleport to gens survivors are working on and they can't escape the radius and also can't recover before you are chasing them.
Maybe not Freddy's best build but it's by far the most comfortable build i've found for him. -
I find him really fun, i've never played a PTB so much.
For PTB i hope they make apron add-on basekit and then reverse it's effect, and some other add-ons need reworks to be better.
Reducing the volume of his audio for killer side seems reasonable but i really hope they don't get rid of any of the voice lines.
Other than that i don't think he needs any buffs, he feels quite strong.
If anything, he stays in enraged mode too much. The countdown is very long especially if you perfectly time the grab attack which i think will become easy to do consistently. He could possibly do with the countdown being halved, however maybe after matches on live we may see that it doesn't need changes.
I also think the distance between the killer and survivor when doing a grab attack can sometimes be a little ridiculous, im not sure if he should really be be able to grab if there is a pallet or vault in between the players. Whilst i think it's okay that's it pretty hard to avoid since it can't down, if pallets and windows don't stop it then there's basically nothing the survivor can do, that will probably get boring overtime. -
I think Surge is good on Kaneki because he downs with basic attack.
Aura is good, i used buffed Nemesis perk and Friends Til' The End which allows me to constantly go for obsession.
Oblivious and undetectable are also pretty fun on him.
Blood Echo Mindbreaker to punish survivors for being injured.
Lots of potential 😄 -
Bit of a typo for the tokyo time i think… 😅
-
Why reduce billy and blight terror radius, icl they need all the nerfs they can get
-
Same. The way Knock Out preyed on solo q survivors was insane. A huge step forward for the quality of life in slugging.
-
Very happy about legion and chucky buffs. Was really hoping we'd get more of the quality of life updates though, but as long as it's before anniversary.

I also wonder if pinhead is permabanned from 2v8 when they start adding more licenses
Most likely, you cannot use the attack on titan cosmetic for spirit.
-
Personally, i could see Stranger Things leaving again since even though it's come back it doesn't seem like they are willing to collaborate on any new content. Other than that i don't see any other license leaving when it comes to chapters.
-
I'm sad that this chapter is leaving DBD. Pinhead is one of the coolest and unique killers in the game. His animations were and continue to be very impressive even 4 years later. The chain projectiles and chain hunt mechanics offer unique gameplay. And the voice lines were great.
I really hope that they will still give him such much needed improvements in the future, a lot of his add-ons are not very good and i think the chain projectiles need some quality of life.
I'm happy that the perks are unchanged if you own him, so if you do own him nothing is being lost. Sad new players won't be able to get him though. -
Definitely Terrifier.
-
As someone who plays survivor 24% of the time and always solo q my main build is Lithe, Windows, Deja Vu, Decisive Strike.
For killer i often develop my build depending on my experience and what i want to try at that time.
For chucky who i used to main but pretty much done with him atp, the best build i found for him was Pain Res, Jagged Compass, Gift of Pain and Languid Touch. This build is suited for chucky because it rewards chases and hooking, and accounts for his low mobility. Languid Touch counters exhaustion which is very effective against him -
They last said in a reddit q and a that they have no plans to sell deep rift skins in the store sadly. This was a couple years ago now i think.
I hope that it changes. -
Sounds too strong imho but maybe i am wrong.
In any case i do agree that Bloodhound needs some sort of rework because a lot of killers have it's effect basekit or as an add-on. -
They describe it as a system so i assume this is accounted for
-
We all need a little motivation

I've heard the hook ones but yeah i didn't know the stun ones existed. Have never heard them on live release, i wonder if they are bugged or removed.

1v4 is better with MMR, 2v8 doesn't really need it.

I probably use it less than 1% of the time

That is possible. The "Read All Notifications" button is also gone.
It's still there but for some reason the notification widget has 2 scroll bars now
Idk why im getting downvoted, this is what it looks like for me -
- Anti-tunnel being weaponised
- Chases being drawn out using map offerings, exhaustion perks, styptic agent, body blocking, comp cornering (very bad for killers with no mobility)
- Toolboxes, they exist to shorten the game and remove opportunity for the killer to regress gens.
- Survivors making it too appealing by not respecting your presence
- Weak killers
- Survivors being mean in general, i believe it punishes killer players for challenging themselves and trying something new and encourages them to stick to what works and what they know is strong and oppressive.
-
Yes it's unhealthy as a whole. Remove the encouragement of self unhooking, rework the luck offerings, rework Up The Ante and Slippery Meat.

Complaints of Map Offerings are overblown. You're lying if you say you see 8 Eyrie back to back.
Devs should have tried the blind offering first then go from there.
People stream and have map offering numerous times so no

Most people (survivors and killers) are playing 2V8 for some goofy fun and to get away from the sweatiness that is the current base game. The fun from playing Killer in this mode is having a mate to hunt with you which significantly reduces the stress of playing killer by yourself. likewise it’s a more chill experience with the survivors having the most basic perks and passive abilities that bring the experience back down to a vanilla, tag like experience.
However solely throwing in killers who were designed to deal with the ever growing meta of the base game into this mostly vanilla sided survivor mode makes this game mode just as sweaty as the base game and one sided. It's not really fair to say the mode is vanilla sided for survivors, classes are very strong and pallet density is very high. Strong killers are necessary to deal with how fast survivors can be healed and with how many pallets they have.
Your argument is boiling down to "2v8 is killer sided" which is highly debatable and i do not think it is. -
Basic M1 killers are not going to have fun in 2v8, the pallet density is insane, you need a strong power to deal with it. You're basically saying they should have just added weak killers so survivors can have fun.
Legion is not a sweaty killer either, they are a beginner hit and run killer whose effectiveness falls off sharply against experienced players. -
More Solo Queue improvements, like a quick chat feature, and New Player Experience improvements like better tutorials.

@Prometheus1092 said:
Im not too concerned by the changes effecting killers negatively because last I heard the Devs hit the target rate of 60% kill rate. Anything that changes that figure will mean a buff for killers or nerf for survivors to maintain the 60% kill rate. So basically if the anti tunnel/camp makes it harder for killers to get kills and the stats reflect this, there will be buffs for killers or nerfs for survivors to compensate.
Stats don't reflect the player experience. They are too slow at individual killer balancing for wide game balance changes to be compensated for at an acceptable pace. They need to not cause the need for compensation in the first place.
I just hope these anti-systems aren't drastic enough to warrant causing new problems is all i'm hoping. -

I understand your worries since sometimes the developers do really bad changes that makes the game more unhealthy like the hole slugging situation came due to all of the hook nerf (70sec, nerf to genperks ect.). But the developers also have good ideas that don't change the normal gameplay but make it better: The anti-face-camp-feates removed the boring face-camp Bubba players while the 3gen-feature was healthy for both sides. Back in the days, they also had a good idea for box-camping Pig by adding a fifth box. On top of it, the developers want a 60% killrate and will never ever add or change something that could reduce it since everything else will be miserable.
Then, Mandy said in a post awhile ago that there are different types of slugging which means the devs know that there is slugging for 4K (mini holding hostage), slugging for pressure, slugging since unpickable, and more. We can also asume that they also know there are different types of camping and tunnling. Speaking of tunnling, I also believe the devs know that some antitunnelperks are abusable (they nerfed DS to make it less bs)
Next, just because they call it "anti-something", does not mean it is for free. In my opinion, a healthy anti-camp-feature could be that killers cannot use their power around 12meters a hook or get punished for it (similar to Dredge or Artist). Anti-slugging feature could be an Unbreakable but you gain one hook state for it - a fair trade. There are many options how to make a feature good and healthy for both sides but not mindlessly unhealthy and stupid. In addition, the developers said they want to test the anti-tunnel feature in an upcoming Chaos Shuffle and then there will also be a PTB for everything. If we test it well and give a good feedback, the developers will fix potencial issues and make it either better or move back (similar to when they tested basekit Mori and Unbreakable) - They listen to our feedback.
Lastly, some killers still need some QoL changes or buffs, especially the weaker ones (Legion, Demo, Ghost Face) and if these new features will make these weak killers even weaker, it is a good thing in the long term because then the developers have to buff them and can no longer ignore the gap between these and the stronger ones. I know, this sounds a bit awkward but I guess it would be a necessary evil.
Overall, I can understand your worries and I share them a little bit with you but we should wait how these features look in praxis before we judge or being to worried about them.
I appreciate your understanding and rationality
-
Surrending is meant to prevent wasting of time, if all the survivors fail and get 4 slugged they don't have to wait and get bled out. Key word here is fail because killers can't just gurantee a 4-man slug they have to overpower the survivors to do that.
They can currently but supposedly they are going to change afk crows to be more conditional so prevent warding them off so easily whilst still hiding. -
@jesterkind said:
BHVR's been steadily buffing killers and killer perks over the past few years, I don't anticipate that changing any time soon.
More killers are in a healthy spot now than ever, and I definitely disagree that any of them need to lean on the cheesy crutch strats being discussed here. I could see killers like Oni and Twins being potentially harmed by anti-slug if it isn't done properly, though, so that's what I'll be looking out for most personally.
Trapper and Hag absolutely need to play territorial in high level. It's not even cheesy crutch it's just how those killers are played. It's unpopular though which is why those killers are unpopular. Will be even more if devs are not considering them with these changes.

@AmpersandUnderscore said:
Well, certainly didn't take long for the pre-emptive strike posts to start.
I suppose the forums meta is to get the feedback in early that the system(s) are overpowered and need a nerf because they might possibly do something under specific circumstances.
These aren't specific circumstances they are very general. I assume you're salty about anti-face camping not working outside of face camping

Temporary Ban Escalation 48hr --> 1 week --> 1 month --> Permanent This is a sliding scale and determined on a case-by-case basis. If an offense is considered to be particularly egregious, the duration of the ban may skip one or more steps in this process. Any previous permanent bans on your record will result in all…
