Sounds like you may need to re-examine your play. I'm 99.9% certain I am max, or near max killer MMR . I can pick up any killer and do well. A bad game for me is 2 kills, very rarely only 1. For the record, I do not play Nurse or Blight at all, and very very very rarely play Spirit. Right now it is mostly Ceno/Neme/Legion.
Anyone does well with meta builds.

I should find their post cause I have a feeling I'm going to be saying this a lot for a few weeks...
Someone made a thread stating that the GG EZ way to do this is to put DS on as well. That counts as making the killer drop you, which counts for the Power Struggle Challenge.
Thanks, didn't know that, but makes sense.
It just shows much better ds is than power struggle. Even if you run flip flop, unbreakable and power struggle you are still worse than ds in terms of stunning the killer.
-
It just shows how bad 90% of the perks in the game are.
People complain about ds, dh, bt and ub ( for a good reason ), but there are like 9 usuable perks to begin with.
-
Otz and Scott.
-
Survivors want 12 hook games, but don't want to 99 7 gens.
-
The problem is that the game is at a stalemate and neither party can meaningfully progress the game without the giant risk of losing it immediately.
Currently dbd has no way of addressing this.
-
Real good at camping.
-
When I see a trap at a loop I can make the choice to loop there, or go to the next loop, or maybe disarm it if I think i have time for that.
When a trickster chases me I can decide if I run into the open and die, or if I run to a jungle gym and try to use the cover.
When a spirit phases none of my input matters, because I have no information to work with as to where she is or what she is doing. All I can do is guess.

I really don't think Tru is a top killer, to be honest. He makes a lot of mistakes. On top of playing Wraith. And he's playing against a group that represents less that .00001% of the player base. And I guarantee the best Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Billy and Hag can beat that team, which in all honesty, that team shouldn't be beat by any Killer.
Honestly, Dowsey playing the Twins could probably decimate that team. That guy is an amazing Killer player.
Dowsey played against them after that. He lost hard. He played the twins, managed to get a good camp going at shack, which resulted in a 1k. The game after that 0k.
-
It is almost as if there is an after work period, where lots of people want to play survivor with their friends.
-
Obviously after hooking someone you have to go into a corner for a minute to let them heal under hook and get some gen progress in. Everything else would be unfair and unfun for the survivor.
-
The new one, after that hawkins.
-
Cheater who hooked Steve in the middle of nowhere today.
-
If this game had no grind no one would play it.
-
For some reason I like facing doctor more than clown, despite them being very similar in chase.

Playing multiplayer games pretty much my whole life ive come to the conclusion that its actually better to go against people of a higher skill level, you learn faster. Taking baby steps and "rank 20s" only going against "rank 20s" is a recipe for a brutal failure in the future. If you cant handle being stomped for awhile then dont play online games, its not how they are built. Its like being thrown into a new job, you better learn quick or you will get let go or be severely frustrated. Look at Apex legends, it rarely puts you in your skill level. You play a few good games and all of a sudden you have 3 squads of Predator level players. They just randomly throw 60 people in a non ranked game and say have at it. DBD doesnt need skill based matchmaking, it just needs to find 4 suvivors and 1 killer and let people learn either the hard way or easy way depending how you tackle it. Stop whining when youre a rank 14 killer going against a 4 man red rank swf....learn their patterns, practice your power, learn how good players loop and bring that with you into the next match
And that is the reason why competitive fighting games have like 200 active players each.

For me it’s not about winning it’s about using different perks outside the meta consistently. During this test when playing survivor I ended up having to go for the meta perks over silly builds which is where I have fun on survivor.
Your first sentence starts with "For me it's not about winning". Okay fair enough. If it isn't about winning, then why do you have to go for meta perks? If it isn't about winning, then nothing is stopping you from using any perks you like. Unless you want to win without meta perks? In which case, so you want to win without trying?
-
"I just want to play for fun." aka "I want to win without having to try".

This "she was just garbage" argument i hear everytime. Her power works in a way that it is supposed to be on her if she kills you, just like Nurse. Why do everyone need that one counterplay, that one thing that you can always do and then you just win if you do it?
Because it makes her completely boring to go against. Your input as survivor does not matter. If i wanted that i could also just play a slot machine.
-
I wrote "You deserved that for burning that hawkins offering" and hawkins was censored.
I am not here to get the devs to do anything, i am just informing them on how bad their product is.
-
If you press your face into her body you can see her shards be brighter than when she is not phasing, during an actual chase that is not feasible.
So technically yes, practically no.
~~People who claim to see animation resets don't ever test it under lab-settings to notice that there is no such thing, its placebo.~~
Guess I was wrong and you can tell using animations!

This must be the only multiplayer game where people want to do nothing but troll around and win at the same time, without having to actually try and that being somehow an acceptable position.
You either can have: A game where everyone tries to actually win OR a games where some people try to actually win and others just goofing around.
The effect of the later ( which is what dbd currently is ) is people complaining about: SWF, Tunneling, Camping, Dead Hard and so on.
Because for some reason people are not expected to try their hardest, if someone does not play on the same level of try-harding as they are, they are either: trolls or sweatlords.
You can get rid of this problem by accepting that people always try to play at that best, like most online games.
"But DbD is different!!!" No it is not, just because this is currently the culture around this game, doesn't mean it has to stay this way.
-
How do you know what the mmr-test is about? Did you ask the devs?
-
The test before this one was great for me, much better than any other system they had so far.
-
My experience so far ( 10 matches ) was that i got beginners in my first four games and since then it gets harder and harder. Then i started losing matches. Since then I either get babies or really really good survivors.
Guess they just threw everyone in with the same mmr and since then it is calibrating. Still not working great tho.
-
Because their current system is garbage.
-
It is almost as if it is a test to collect data and that nobody claimed that this system was intended to work for this test.

Ranged powers will be useless? As the previous poster said, the number of very narrow hallways makes landing ranged attacks almost a certainty.
Again though, yes, some killers will be better on it than others. That's the same with many maps. This map is Trapper's dream. Nurses will be able to go nuts. Meanwhile Spirit will be a bit restricted, and Hillbilly won't have the long lanes that he might on an outdoor map.
I don't think it's a crap map, it's just not perfect for everybody. I can't think of a map that is. Not everything should be outside and with loads of wide open spaces (though there's some of that on this map too).
If you think this map is good for ranged killers you have never played as a range killer on that map. Yes there are narrow hallways where the shots are easy, that is also true for all other indoor maps and every ranged killer hates those maps. Why? Because there are so many LOS-blockers everywhere that you have to be basically at lunge distance to hit anyone. So much for being "ranged". Survivors are usually not in hallways, but in siderooms or are navigating in between.
This map also isn't Trapper's dream, you would only think that if you never played as Trapper on that map. Trapper has no map pressure and yes it is nice that he can set up some traps that survivors will have to disarm, but that's it. His power pales in comparison to the size of the map.
Nurse is great on this map, but you know who cares, she is already the best killer in the game, she doesn't need help.
And you are right i forgot hillbilly, another killer who will alt-f4 if he says an offering for this map, because he is, as blight, not going to use his power on this map.
-
Scorpionz build is fun and focuses on her fun aspects. He said himself that if he wanted to win every game he would bring pop.
So if your goal is to win just use the usual: Corrupt, Pop, BBQ, STBFL.
If you REALLY want to win bring crate of gears and tampered timer and interrupt survivors trying to do bear traps a tiny bit ( just chase them for a few seconds if you see them and if it doesn't cost you much ).
-
Ranged killers will hate it because the ranged part of their power is useless. Blight will hate it because using his power will be a detriment.
Stealth killers will love it.
New survivors will be extremely confused by the layout and will wander around aimlessly trying to find gens.
The usual indoor crap map.

What they are saying, I firmly believe you know this and are just being purposely obtuse, is that the TEAM should work Generators. Survivors win or lose as a TEAM. If you are being camped, you are tying up the Killer exactly the same as if you were looping him/her around the map. *I do think that IF the Survivor stays on the Hook the entire time (that means all of Stage-1 and Stage-2 without ending either early) that the game should apply them with points and emblem advancement as if they were tying up the Killer in chases. You are, even if unwillingly, doing your team a service.
Again, I cannot repeat this enough times, Survivors are a TEAM and win or lose only as a Team. That means sometimes you sacrifice for them and they sacrifice for you. Playing for yourself alone is detrimental and rarely results in four escapes (almost never). All that aside, you know it isn't cute nor does it impress anyone when you purposely misconstrue the meaning of what people say and play dumb. It is a rhetorical trick and everyone here knows what you are about. We realize it sucks for the person on the hook. That is why we also make suggestions on ways to mitigate your unfun boredom. That is why I'm suggesting a game within a game for that 2nd Stage hooked Survivor, a metaphysical battle with the Entity.
Games are not constructive. Playing dumb and being obstinate doesn't advance your cause.
This game has no defined victory condition. If you feel escaping trough the hatch, while everyone was killed, counts as a win, then that is a win for you.

I think most are asking the devs to change the game so that camping wasn't sure a good strategy so that killers would stop using it, I mean you want killers to try their best so would you be OK if they changed the game so that the best move wasn't camping? Sounds like a win win unless you really just like to camp
I agree. I am just sick of the argument that killers are supposed to be nice, while survivors can behave however they like.
-
"Killers are mean and should respect the other peoples fun by not tunneling/camping."
Meanwhile I have yet to see a survivor be like: Lets not finish this gen, the killer is having a bad game. It would not be very fun for him, if we finish this now.
Of course not, that is not the objective of the survivor. Ignoring the fact that survivors doing their objective is not fun for the killer. But who cares about that.
-
"Good killers don't need noed". Guess tournament killers are bad then.
I don't use noed, mostly because you get so much hate messages if you do. But I understand why people do it. Unless you run undying+ruin or pop your gens will be gone after 5 minutes and likely 3 or 4 survivors will still be alive, which is perfect for noed.
-
I use it.
-
I don't think people generally care that much about emblems.
-
For survivor it doesn't matter that much.
Killers benefit greatly from being able to locate survivors by sound.

Honestly if you die by a head trap than the change is that you deserved it.
That is if she doesn't go after you crouching.
The only time I got a headpop (I believe it happened 2 times, at least no more than 5),was because I was to greedy.
Even with tempered timer and crates of gears I never got a headpop from it.
There is so much time to get it off your head before the timer reaches 0.
Even if you get it off on the last box, you still would have time to spare.
So i don't think there will be a nerf coming any time soon for these add ons
With crates and tampered timer, on a big map and your trap being in the last box you don't have enough time to search all boxes, unless you can go straight from box to box with not a single interruption.
-
Her dash is the fun part of her kit. The traps are unfun. If you want to reach red ranks without really trying always run tampered timer and crate of gears. Just play her as an m1 killer that gets at least one free kills from traps with this addon.
I hope they nerf her traps and trap addons into the ground so she can join clown and legion with her kill rates.

What's wrong with us Yuis?
Yui should be in her own category as super nice and cute. I agree. Never saw a toxic Yui.

Last time I did gens when someone got facecamped I got yelled at in postgame chat by the camped survivor that i should have saved him ( or the other 2 guys who also did gens ).
While I agree that camping is a valid strategy, it is sooooooo boring for both sides and infuriating for the guy on the hook.

As killer you can lose the game with one bad chase. As survivor you can have a bad chase and still easily win.
When I am up against a ttv I like to watch the game afterwards from their perspective. I remember one game where I really really tried and barely 4k ( all gens got done). Then I watched the match from that guys perspective and oh my god. I couldn't believe it. That guy did random dull totems, opened every chest he could see, was lost at times and couldn't find gens ( was on the old game ). But he wasn't very concerned about anything and very relaxed most of the time, he just played whatever. If that one guy had played just a bit better it would have been a 0k or 1k for me.
I am not a great killer, but I was definitely better than that guy, yet I had to play so much harder to win. So yeah, the pressure is on the killer to perform.
Also postgame chat is horrible for killers. The true 1v4 happens there, when survivors feel like you played in way they don't like and believe that justifies them being horrible human beings.
-
It's a toss up between hag and plague. Ruin and Devour Hope vs Corrupt and Infectious.

@deckyr said:
some killer mains can't accept that the game actually is balanced around swf. they think 2 kills is a loss and not a normal balanced draw, then complain because someone had a key or whatever. just ignore them.
Not like they are wrong or right. The game has no defined victory condition, so you can have any personal victory condition you want.
Is a 2k a win for the soloq survivor that was one of the ones who died within the first 3 minutes of the game? I don't think so.
-
Easily Killer. I play soloq with bad teammates when I want to relax from killer.
-
What bothers me most from that otz video is the attitude of the survivors towards their opponent. Especially in the postgame chat. I don't mind losing, but I hate these sore winners who love nothing more than rubbing it in that they won/got out Even more so when they stack it in their favour with map offerings and badly designed perks like OoO.
-
Yours maybe isn't, but there are 3 more survivor in there. If I knew they had "nice" perks, then I would run nice perks as well. But if they run meta perks and I run ######### perks I will get stomped. Why take the chance of getting stomped? Survivors won't be nice to me most of the time.

Guess you missed the part of eating a hit to take the aggro only to be ignored.
And so is the killers to kill you.
"But it isn't fun to get tunneled!" Neither is getting your fourth hook and the 4th or 5th gen pops, just because you were nice and lost all your pressure by chasing people who have not been hooked.
Go ahead try it yourself. Play nice at red ranks, survivors won't be nice to you in return.

We all know that only games with bad matchmaking have top streamers and fun games. Thats why CS:GO, League, Apex Legends and Dota 2 all have no viewers.
